    Updated on 4/16/2019: I’m only in the first couple of months but NDR has already paid off two of my loans, so that’s good. They were able to get things done so well, so quick. They knocked off more than half the interest of one specific card. It's really impressive that they were able to do that ‘cause I would have never been able to. The payment plan that they set up is definitely doable for the amount of debt we had. I really appreciate that there is a person out there that actually understands getting into hard times and that there’s a program out there to be done. We had a fire in May of 2017 and that was really hard. It brought all of this debt on. The insurance companies didn’t immediately pay, so we were out of nothing. We had to live in a hotel for almost a month or two. I really needed help at that point.

    I was in debt, and I still don't have a steady job to be able to keep up with the payments. I decided to go to National Debt Relief's program and their customer service was more upfront about what they wanted to do with my account. The service so far has been good. Anybody who takes a call there gives me the answer that I'm looking for. So far, they've been very helpful. But there were a couple of things that they told me that haven't happened. Like they will take care of my accounts in six months. It has been seven months now and only two of them have been negotiated with the company. When I called the rep and asked him what happened to the other ones, they said they didn't have enough funds to negotiate anymore for now until I get done with the two that they are working on.

    But since they negotiated a couple of accounts, it looked to me like they would go ahead and try to negotiate the other ones. They gave me a number that they will collect every month to be able to settle the accounts or negotiate the accounts. They set up an account with the company, and they work with those funds. The payment amount is okay. But I wished they could have made more with my money.

    My fiancée enrolled with National Debt Relief for herself a few years ago and they had done well for her, she will be finished next month for her last account and then, she will be completely freed up. By the time I finish getting her through her last round of school and getting her back in the job she wanted to be in, then it was my turn to start being able to take care of my stuff also. Most of the time, I try to take care of everybody else and that means putting your own stuff on the backburner. Through divorces and things, it kept getting further behind. NDR took care of my fiancée and so, I figured I would give them a shot.

    I got online with somebody and I gave them everything. They were able to take some other stuff off of my credit records and put things together as to what I could roll into working with them and what they did not cover. Other than that, just some e-signatures for some legal reasons and setting up a profile for their account so that I could monitor things that goes as well, and all the rest of it was simple. Now, when they get news on something or get a proposal they would like to offer or send out, they contact me and make sure that I'm okay with what they're looking to try and do. Then, if I say everything is okay, they would try and run that by the collector, set it all up and go from there. They quoted me three years at the payment I was making every month to get their fees and the amount of everything else put in there taken care of but hopefully, I'll be able to get that done a little quicker.

    Since I started working with NDR, I got the ability to take care of some of the creditors that I'm dealing with for a while quite easily through them, and if everything goes well, it will save me a heck of a lot of good money, and I'll never have one headache in the end. People should go ahead and contact somebody, go over all their stuff with them, and see what NDR can do. I know what they can cover is different per person and per budget, so they can go from there. As far as I can tell so far, I'm the second person in a row here that I know of that’s everything’s worked for.

    When we call we’re always on hold for the first 10 minutes until we get a representative. We give her a name or number who we are and they said, "We need to transfer you to another representative" to handle our account so on hold with that person for another 10 minutes. We wait that person can help us. We get transferred again and on hold for 30 minutes on the phone to where she can get some on the phone.

    Every time we call like we’re playing phone tag so we get tired of being put on hold for so long. Last couple times we’ve been on hold for almost 45 minutes for each phone call we been on and when we do get through we talk and then we can’t get a hold of another person. They said they’ll call us back and we never get a phone call back . It seems like no one wants to handle our situation on the phone. I thought all representatives are train the same to handle each call. Where are we sending emails while I was gone back-and-forth and never nothing gets resolved.

    The initial call is the hardest to make. It takes about an hour or so and then you wait for approval and that is another hour so your nerves are racked during that time. The person helping me explained the process pretty well even though I had a good idea how it worked. It felt a little patronizing but at the same time it was reassuring that help was there and available. You will sign a lot of legal documents which is also nerve racking but it is needed. The most off put I felt was when the "legal services" were offered on the welcome call. I was under the impression they were included in all the fees already. It didn't drive my cost up but every little bit counts when depositing into your account for negotiation.

    Fortunately that was the only add on at this point that was offered. I do have to say if you have a question, so far they are right on top of getting it answered for you immediately. I am not sure how it will be weeks or months from now but at least right now it is going well with the communication. Below for tools and resources I am giving it three stars because I really haven't seen much tools or resources at this point. I just got logged into the website for the first time. Seems like a good information dashboard but I don't have enough experience with it to give it a true rating.

    After I signed up with National Debt, it wasn't what I thought it would be. I thought they would take all my debt and consolidate it into one bill. But it was not quite like what I thought it was. What they do is they take my highest debt and I have to build up savings. After I get so much into savings, they would send out a letter. Meanwhile, my other debt is getting further and further behind. I didn't know that in the beginning.

    The program makes sense, but it's not working for me. When I first went into it, I had a credit score of nearly 700. I was current on all my credit and debt except for one or two, but it wasn't to a point where it was affecting me. I was under the impression, the account would go delinquent after I get a certain amount saved up. But I didn't understand totally their process with the taking the highest debt and building savings. Now, my credit score is not even 500. At this point, I just let the money come out and let it be what it be. During the process, I spoke with my negotiator, Leon, a couple of times and he was really nice each time I called. I called him around three times. He made me feel really relaxed and he was very professional answering my questions. But as far as him following up with me, I haven't heard anything from him.

    During the time that I was going through it National Debt, I recommended them to somebody. I would share up the knowledge that I know and let someone else make the decision of going with them or not. I would still be there if my friends or family had questions or concerns. Overall, I wish that the lines of communication with national Debt would open more. I need to call them or have better communication with them so that I would have a better understanding as far as how they impact my life.
