    Updated on 02/14/2021: I was told it was going to take three years and I'm almost halfway through the program. National Debt Relief has been good. The only thing is I'm not able to access anything like an account. I don't get any kind of monthly statement so it's hard for me to keep track of what's going on. It would be better if they would implement some kind of monthly statement showing you paid this and this much is being paid to the creditor. Other than that, I'm satisfied.

    I wasn’t able to juggle my bills any longer. I couldn’t handle it, so I needed help. I’ve seen National Debt Relief commercials on TV and I read up on them. It seemed reputable and I like their plans. Basically, they talk with the creditors and I build a savings account. With each creditor, we save up money, and present to each creditor, individually, to pay them off on the agreed upon amount. By the time they present the plan to me on whether I want to agree upon it or not, they’ve already spoken with the creditor. Afterwards, they’ll settle the debt for whatever percentage it is and then I’ll pay an amount every month for so many months.

    I went through this once before when my late husband and I got in over our heads. I don’t remember the name of the place, but they didn’t charge as much. But that was about 10 years ago. Nowadays, you can’t get something for as little as I did back then. Back then, it was a set amount, about $50 a month. And now, it’s 5% to 20% of the debt which is okay. I have been with National Debt Relief for a year and a half now. Today, I checked my credit score out and it has come up. I’m gonna be buying a house, so that would be a significant impact on my day-to-day life once I go about doing that.

    We have been with National Debt Relief for not quite two years and so far, our experience with them has been good. We had more debt than we could handle and the reviews I read about NDR were favorable. Their reps are pleasant to deal with. They set us up with a plan where we pay into a banking account and they’re paying our debts. They are talking to our debtors and getting the debt amount reduced and paying it down that way. We set our payment dates and we are now paying down the debt that we have. We’re not quite halfway through, but we’ve paid off some of the smaller ones. We’re happy with the service so far. However, they call too much and they don’t really give us any updated information. Still, we're very happy with what they’ve done.

    When we were looking for debt consolidation, I called National Debt Relief and they had a specialist call me back and walk me through all the paperwork. They made sure I had signed everything properly. They were really thorough and were able to pull up everything so there wasn't a whole lot of work on my part. They made the enrollment process much easier. In the beginning, they were upfront with everything but there were times where they need a little bit extra money upfront to get the settlement approved and that wasn't explained. When I found out, it took me by surprise. The first time, they asked $500 and extra. We weren't able to do it but they were still able to make it work and settle.

    My wife and I closed on a house two weeks ago. We still got a couple of years before we're done with the program and everything will be paid off but it's been a lot less stressful. Before, we were getting calls from banks two or three times a day. I would recommend National Debt Relief to someone wanting to go for a debt settlement but if they were looking more for a debt consolidation, I would recommend going a different route. The way the National Debt Relief program works, it's not so much a consolidation as it is a settlement program. It hurts your credit at first so if someone is looking more for a quicker reward or payoff, then NDR is not the route they wanna go.

I knew what I was gonna be doing because the person involved there gave me full disclosure before I actually did it. Then, I put in a new request to handle my truck.     So far, my experience with National Debt Relief has been great. My interaction with their rep has been really fast. They'd ask if I agree to something, I'd look at it and if it looks good, I'd say yes. I had to pay a one-time payment of 200 to the other law people that Citibank was gonna go through. But it was a one-time deal, so it was okay. They always tell me everything, so our communication has been really good. I felt so out of control, then they gave me a little more control on what was happening. At least everything is going good now, and everything is being worked on. I'm still thinking about my credit score. It's in the 500s, but as soon as everything is paid off, I wanna see if I can save enough for a house down payment in the not so distant future.
