I am not happy that I can not add a debt that was on my credit report at the time that I signed up with you guys. Now I have received a letter from a collection lawyer firm and when I asked to add this debt after I looked on my dashboard to see if it was there and couldn’t find it, I then called and I was told it wasn’t there. I went to add it and was sent a email saying I needed to come up with half of the debt to ADD it. If I had half the debt amount I would have paid it to them to reduce it but since I don’t, hence my I have gotten the help I needed through your company to get me back in track. This has really put me in a bind.... I realize this is of my making but I am trying to fix it and this doesn’t help!

At first I was very upset due to my credit score went from a 700+ to 500+. Creditors were calling sometimes 5/6 a day. This was very stressful on my husband and I. I personally feel that the methods should be reversed not to mess up people's credit. Allow the persons to build up an account with FDR. While allowing the client to keep them on required payments. Now that my credit is Ruined because of being 4-7 months in arrears, all I can do is PRAY. I now realize that initially did not realized this.

Freedom Debt Relief has been very helpful in helping me resolve my debt problems. The only issue I have with them as I am down to two small loans. They negotiated a settlement for one of them and I have to pay a little over $900 to resolve it. The monthly payments on the loan is $72. Freedom Debt Relief want me to continue making payments of $522 a month for 24 months to pay off a little over $900. The money about the payment is all going to feed. I feel this is an exorbitant amount having to pay $10,000 to pay off $900.

Updated on 03/20/2021: Called to follow up on to credit card accts to make sure they had been acknowledged as customers on my FDR account. I had had numerous mail and phone calls inquiring as to where I had not made payments on their accounts, I gave them info to contact fdr to follow up on their status. They were satisfied with my respond.

Updated on 04/26/2021: Had to change my biweekly payment because of COVID. I was paying less now. I called to pay a little more. I was paying more. No work but trying to stay in the program so talked to a very nice lady that helped me a lot.

Updated on 5/15/2020: Seems to be moving slowly. I thought we would be further along than we are. I was also disappointed in the legal company that they weren't able to negotiate wells Fargo down any. That worries me because we also have a larger account with them that was turned in.
Original review: We had hoped to get a loan. The advertising we received in mail did not mention debt consolidation of any type. Twas a bit deceiving. Otherwise it's ok. I hope it works out for us. Hate to get the nasty phone calls from creditors.

Ultimately I am very happy with the service provided by FDR. At first I didn't fully understand how the program operated which created me to be upset with how long it was taking for results. But once I fully understood how it worked and what the procedure was, I was very happy with the service and communication provided. Although a little stressful with the calls and emails from my debt accounts reps, I am happy to have taken the action. The reduced debts negotiated has greatly been appreciated. Plus the extra income achieved by the Consolidation has helped with everyday expenses without impact to quality of life.

I submitted five accounts. The smallest got a quick settlement that was satisfactory but before another settlement was offered I received a call from Spencer ** offering a loan to pay off debts but which would take until 1-16-24 to pay off with interest of 22.9. I refused and have since received another settlement from FDR which I accepted. FDR is my choice.

I started this process while Chuck was still alive, and am very happy with how it is progressing. Being on a fixed income, and with children still in need of help, we seriously considered Bankruptcy. I am happy that two of my outstanding accounts are being settled. I have been in the program since February. What bothers me the most is that I misunderstood the fee that is on each account. I thought that this was in total fee for the package of accounts. My mistake for not researching more. I don't know how I will get my credit score up in a normal range, hoping I can increase payments.

Melinda was a great person to talk to, very professional, polite, and informative. She was a great help with this matter! I would recommend this company based on her help. I was very skeptical about going this route. I was going to do a Chapter 13 bankruptcy. But, I chose this way first.

I am fine so far with service. Only issue I had was one if my accounts is listed with wrong name. Sent 2 or 3 emails and called re this. Still listed as wrong. As they have recently made an agreement on it, not real sure it's an issue. Plus it's annoying to keep repeating the same issue to a different person every call.

Freedom Debt Relief is very good. They have helped me a lot. I am going through their debt relief program, and I am happy of how they are handling my account. I have so much debt and I called them. And somebody returned my call by the name of Antonio and he explained to me how the program works. With the way they are handling my debt, I might be able to be financially free of a lot of debt in the years to come.
Their customer service is very good, but there are times when you get somebody who is not as helpful as the others or is putting you on hold. Maybe this person that I speak with is not very familiar with the procedures. Because of their customer service setup, whoever is free answers your question. You could not ask for a specific person, even though I have asked before. If you find somebody very helpful and more knowledgeable of the procedures, the processes or the regulations, you would like to speak with that person. But that's not the case with Freedom Debt Relief. Still, most of them are very helpful and very courteous. They would try or they could go out of their way to help you. They have settled some accounts for me already. I have four more accounts. One is in targeted negotiation and three are in strategic hold. I would recommend Freedom Debt Relief.

I was a little anxious when I first began in December 2018. I never had missed payments and kept getting increases on my credit line, a recipe for disaster. When I began paying out more than I could afford I knew I had to do something. FDR came along at just the right time. I have paid my first debt off and am working on two more at the moment. I just give them my money and they do the negotiating and handle the bills. My credit score fell of course and that hurts but I know I’m headed in the right direction and look forward to the day of being debt free. Updated on 05/18/2021: We had a lot of debt we enrolled. We are about to begin our 5th settlement. We have 2 paid off, two are almost paid off and three to go. It hasn't been easy but we are almost through. We hope to be able to deposit more so we can finish quicker than anticipated.

Everything from setting everything up the first time up to my first settlement offer has been pretty easy. My only complaint is that I get contacted by a Consolidated Plus (Joshua **) trying to get me to consolidate my loan knowing that my score wasn't good, so I did. Never heard back from him. I assuming I got denied, like thought I would. Why even try to get me to do that when I'm already in this plan. Doesn't make sense.

I'm about halfway through my program. Three debts have been resolved, and I have three to go. It is working as advertised, but I do wish they were a bit clearer about the hit that my credit score would take. This is partially my own fault, as I should have surmised how low it would go, but when courting me, the flowery language reps used does not truly describe the 150+ point dive my score took. Now that I'm halfway through, it would be unwise to get out now. I am hoping that come the end of the program, my score will recover.

After the full settlement amount is paid to and processed by a creditor, they may report to credit reporting bureaus that your account is settled in full, settled, paid, paid in settlement, or settled for less than the full amount. You no longer owe on this account and the balance is zero. That debt is behind you and your credit report shows it.

$13,122.00 Paid to them. $8,315 Paid to creditors. Lowest settlement they got was 40%, now that I'm doing it myself I get 35% without even trying. What's frustrating is they charge their fee on original debt. Where's the incentive to get a good settlement? If you're paying them to settle debts than they should at least negotiate to have creditor remove negative reports when offered 48%. They negotiated 5 of my accounts. 2 at 48%, 1 at 45% and 2 at 40%.
The only reason I used them was to work and not worry about this stuff but I'd still get collection calls and letters. Collectors would tell me they refuse to work with Freedom... I wish I saw this review, it just didn't provide the peace of mind I thought it would and I'd have 2 big accounts paid off by now instead of just one of my big accounts due to paying freedom to settle debts at a mediocre rate, not communicate and not contact all my creditors with a game plan for the future.
Bottom line is if you have half a brain you can handle your stuff better than they can with minimal effort. Also, after paying them thousands of dollars to settle 5 accounts and removing the rest my Freedom account was closed. No summary or information for me to use to clean up my credit report. Felt kicked to the curb. P.S. I had technical issues with their website account often.

I am very pleased and the people I have worked with are very nice and helpful. I am glad they are resolving my debts. The only thing that would help is for the creditors to stop calling me. I think Freedom should call all the creditors and explain that I am trying to pay them and not file for bankruptcy.

Updated on 11/25/2020: I am very satisfied with FDR. One of the biggest reasons is that I've learned that I can trust them. The accounting job they do is complex and, so far, I've had no reason to feel their figures are incorrect, or that they're mischarging. I always feel that they're doing what they said they were going to do and that's it. They have never done anything inappropriate, and by following their advice, my credit score is going up and my account cases are being taken care of one by one. National Law Litigation Group is also great. They've been a tremendous help and again I feel like I can trust them. I highly recommend FDR and NLLG to everyone who has debt issues. They will fix your life.

Debt reduction. I have been sued by Bank of America and have been trying to get this settled with you people. I go to court tomorrow and it wasn't until today that I got any help. I am not a happy customer. God help me tomorrow in front of the judge.

My biggest issue so far are the fees being paid to Freedom Debt Relief. 25% in fees. I even sent in extra money as suggested. But even after increasing my monthly deposit & sending in additional money, the expected graduation date stayed the same. Shouldn’t the graduation date change if I increased my monthly payment? Definitely not happy with all the money being paid to FDR.
While I am satisfied with all interactions with FDR professionals, I don't feel that things are going as they were presented. Once the FDR fee is added in the balance, the balance is close to what a person owes. 25% fee which they do not verbally disclose to you to settle your debt. Basically the lesser amount the creditor was agreeing to settle for equates to how much (if not more) that was going into FDR's pocket. You wind up paying your original amount Overall. On top of this you are liable for tax on the cancelled debt!!!
We're sorry if you feel you weren't informed enough about our settlement fees, Mr. Romero. We work constantly to improve how we communicate to our clients. Yes, we collect a one-time settlement fee, but only once a settlement has been negotiated and authorized by the client and we have started making payments toward the settlement. Compare our fees to the 100% of the debt amount plus any interest and additional late/penalty fees if someone can't meet the monthly required minimum payment. While I am satisfied with all interactions with FDR professionals, I don't feel that things are going as they were presented to me. 1. It seems that the fees are a bit inflated over what I was told.. 2. I cannot envision how these negotiated Bill's will be paid off in 18 months with the monthly payment amount that I was given, and I cannot afford to pay more. I continue to trust FDR because they are the experts and I don't begin to understand what all is involved.

I had outstanding credit card debt and I was almost just making minimum payments. I wasn’t getting it paid at all. Every time I made a minimum payment, I would get hit with the finance charge then it would put me right back over. My consultant with Freedom Debt Relief was Steven and he was super helpful. When I didn't actually go through, he made the call and explained the process and what to expect throughout the first year. He said during the first year, it’s gonna be building the account and then from there on, I would actually start seeing a difference when they start negotiating and settling with the credit cards. I was impressed that he was answering all the questions and with his ease of walking through the process of what to expect.
I told them what I paid every month and then they went on the payments with me on that, like what I actually was paying. So far, they've paid off four of my credit cards and just by getting those paid off, I’ve seen an increase in my credit score itself. Freedom Debt Relief has been a great service. I really appreciate the service that I've had with them. Every time I called, they answered any questions I had. With any concerns I had, they definitely answered and took care of it.

I don't think my age was part of the planning for the debt relief I agreed to. I am a Senior citizen and am in a plan for 4 years. In retrospect, it should have been a shorter term. I should have been given a better plan.

The rep, Celeste, was very helpful and the process set up for paying creditors made it very easy for me. The only problem was with the company that set it up, LendingTree. Their telemarketers descended upon me like wolves. Called at inappropriate times, we're rude, would interrupt me or simply get louder and kept talking over me. Came real close to bailing due to callers from LendingTree. They turned the process into a nightmare. Had no idea there were such rude people on this planet.

I was contacted by an affiliate company for a consolidation loan. I did not qualify for it however he shared the Freedom Debt Relief program with me and I was hesitant and I should’ve listened to my gut. I have a large balance loan that I was told they had success in negotiating on a regular basis so no real concerns there. I was under the understanding that the process to start getting payments toward the debt would take a few months. I assumed if things were being taken care of in 6 months I’d be good. I had plans to refinance my home in the near future. Well so far no negotiations have been made and I’m told it would take another 10-12 months to have enough funds to reach a negotiation.
Meanwhile everything is being reported negatively on my credit! They have a sister company, Consolidation Plus, that reaches out to you at some point to offer another consolidation loan to resolve the debt sooner. I declined because it showed my debt was in the negotiation phase and I did not want a higher payment for another loan. Well once I declined it, interestingly enough my loan was put back on a strategic hold until at least May of 2020! When I call to speak with customer service I am not greeted with kindness and understanding. More condescension and judgement is how it feels. I was told today by the customer service rep that “you steer this ship and tell us where to go. You can cancel your enrollment anytime.” Wow. What a way to problem solve!
My credit is crap now and no hopes of improving it in the near future unless I make a deposit of $5000, disenroll and try to resolve it myself (as was told to me by FDR customer service), or accept the consolidation loan offer (which by the way once you decline the offer is no longer available for reconsideration). I cannot imagine I will ever recommend this company or use them again unless they do something to change my mind.

The Freedom Debt Relief got me in more of a problem. At first, they had me make two payments and they are somewhere over $900 a month. Then within five weeks, I noticed that they were taking three payments a month. Their rep was supposed to have looked at everything, but there was something he didn't add into the program. He wanted the numbers to look good for me. When I found out, I added them and my monthly payment went up.
I call Freedom every so often, asking if there is anything that they can do to lower my two monthly payments. The man was saying that it was a super deal, but what I was trying to say was that everything wasn't right up front. At times, I’m thinking to file my bankruptcy because Freedom won’t work with me. They'd say that they got these things already set up to pay and that I'd need to make payments. But they don’t have the consideration to work with people. They'd make it sound that I'd be debt free in a matter of time. But I got two and a half more years and my wife and I would have to struggle just to make payments. They’re making good money off of my debts.

I enrolled with Freedom Debit Relief program about 3 years ago. Some of my credit cards debit was reduced in pretty good way, especially by FDR lawyer, so after their charge of 21% and paying tax from reduced debit the final amount was still less than original. But, some was really bad deals, that make me to regret. I was probably negotiated better deal with credit card by myself.

Updated on 07/28/2020: Freedom Debt Relief negotiated lower paydowns. The rep made such high promises which I've heard before. I heard that song and dance. I told him that if it didn't work, I would come get him, but they have done everything they said they will do. I purchased the lawyer protection if I get court orders. I got three of them and Freedom took care of every one of them. They made the payment plan comfortable for me and I even bumped it a couple of times. Everything is working out great. I have already recommended Freedom and my sister is using them as well.
Original review: The law department went to bat for me against one of my creditors when I was served with papers to appear in court. I never had to show up, they took care of the entire thing and the creditor settled for only 56% of the debt. I highly recommend that if anyone used Freedom Debt Relief... pay the little bit of extra money for the assistance of their law team. What a stress reliever to know that I am covered.

Could use more assist with limiting debt. Need to target highest debt first and work down to the least expensive. There should be a quarterly check-in point to see what direction the program is going in and if any updates and changes are needed to be made.

This service is helpful. It is unfortunate that it takes so long to deal with some creditors and the late fees and excessive interest makes it difficult but they work well with creditors. When I received my first collection letter giving me 10 days within which to make a payment, I contacted FDR. What a very pleasant young lady who assisted me. She made me feel like we had been personally introduced and I knew her for years and years. She was so helpful in calming my fears. Sometimes you explain the problem and you are never sure if the person on the other end understands or is equipped to address the question/concern. I had six credit cards and my husband left me with all the debts. He was supposed to pay me money through our divorce. But it has been over a year and he still hasn’t paid me any of the money that he owes me for that. I explained that to Freedom Debt Relief and they were able to negotiate pretty well with most of the credit card companies and were at 50% or 40%, but Discover wanted 60%. But Freedom gave an estimate and explained to me that it might not be exactly what we expected. It has made my payback more. But I was fine with that and the amount that I was paying them.
Some of the communication with Freedom wasn’t as quick as I would’ve expected it to be, but I had good interactions with the their people and they provided good service. I was able to settle my credit card in a reasonable amount of time because I went ahead and did the loan portion through their sister company. Freedom said that the monthly payment could go up if I did go with their sister company and let them pay off those credit cards and I explained that I couldn’t afford to pay any more than what I was paying. But the sister compan raised it to about $125 to $140 above what I was paying. So now, I’m trying to negotiate to put my payment to what it was when I was with Freedom Debt Relief.

Overall satisfied with the service. Once the FDR fee is added in the balance is close to what a person owes. That seems you per productive. The connivance of a single payment (each payday). Mostly customer service is responsive but not as responsive as the initial sales person. Again mostly satisfied with the service provided.

I was paying 500 on my credit cards but nothing was happening. A friend of mine told me about Freedom Debt Relief so I went with them. Enrolling was really easy and their rep convinced me. He was awesome. He let me know what would be going on and didn't give me time to say no. The payment plan they set up was perfect. Working with FDR has made me feel good. I had too much debt. Even if I had a pretty good income at the time, I wasn't able to keep up with it. I spoke to one of Freedom Debt Relief's reps and he was pretty clear on what it takes and what he needs. He was also clear on how their program works and how the law makes for other options to get debt consolidation faster or get a consolidation loan. I liked their program and went with them. Since then, it has been pretty nice to get communication with Freedom only when we have to instead of all the time. I know they're working and ever since I went with them, they have been doing a good job. They don't bother me unless they have to.
Also, getting a hold of Freedom when I have concerns has been pretty fast. I just dial a number and I don't have to wait that long. There were also times in the past 2 years during which I had a few emergencies and I had to stop my payments twice for a month. Freedom understood and helped me with that. They told me the consequence of doing it, but they helped me even I know what risks it takes. They gave me more options to stay updated. Working with them has removed all the stress that I used to have before.

The process has been set up in a satisfactory way, but the company do not start negotiations in any debt collectors, only after the clients start make payments with the program, so the sooner you pay the soonest they work on your case.

At first things were slow in getting some of our debt resolved, but after a few months things started moving along. Still have creditor debt to be resolved and my only wish is for Freedom and/or NLLG could resolve more of our debt much quicker without getting put into litigation.

I felt the experience was rough at first. Communication was sketchy at first, but I think a personnel change made the difference. The only thing I would have done, is go after the certain smaller accounts, that affected my credit report, by then it was too late. I like how they went after certain larger accounts toward the end. Everything was fine, until the very last payment was taken out of my account on June 3rd, which was not anticipated because they said I was done with Freedom Debt relief program, and it was in Consolidated Plus, the loan companies hands. I really didn't care for that last "squeeze out" on my bank account. That was in poor taste. FDR knew I was one creditor away from being done with the program on the same day the settlement was finalized.

- excellent tools for dealing with creditors/debt collectors.
- staff has improved
Negatives - the fees are really high. Especially on my last negotiation. Yea, it saved me 40%, but FDR tacked on another $1,795 for their fees. It wasn't much of a savings on that one. Sorry, not a good deal in my book. The program has worked, but has some tweaking adjusting to do. I still recommend the program.
