After an extended illness we found ourselves in over our heads. We tried 2 years to get ahead and it just wasn’t going to happen. FDR has made us be able to sleep at night. We never wanted to be in this predicament, however knowing we are not totally walking away from debt, we can now begin to build our lives back.

Extremely happy with the progress thus far. Made what felt like an impossible situation bearable. My wife and I feel like we can breathe again and are making fast progress. Originally expected to be three and a half years to become debt free and now expected to do so in about 18 months.

I found Freedom online and picked them randomly. I was in need of that kind of service. Their customer service has been very upfront. I was told that it would be four years for me to get everything paid off. They settled some of the debts. Since the COVID thing, I had to miss a couple of payments and they were very understanding.

I liked what the team at Freedom Debt Relief was talking about and how the man presented himself. We just seemed to click. The rep gave me lots of information that I felt comfortable with at the time. Working with them has worked out pretty well. I didn’t have any problem so far. When something happens, they notify me if it's okay for me to approve a settlement.
Working with them has given me some peace of mind and has allowed me to do some other things. Once they negotiated what I had to pay and maneuvered the payments around, it freed me up to focus on some other things. It afforded me an opportunity to address some credit card issues and then, most of my debt and loans. I also was able to relax. I was getting a lot of phone calls from creditors. That’s ceased and desist. I got a few more creditors, four more to be negotiated, but I have five that went under negotiation and came to some settlement. My program seems to be making some progress. I'm not where I wanna be with it, but I'm not where I was. I've been satisfied with their process.

I’ve been working with Freedom Debt for a few years. They have been settling cases and my debts and they contact me if anything pops up. When I have questions, I contact them and they inform me about statutes of limitations and things of that nature. I appreciate that. For the most part, all I have to do is got to my dashboard and the answers to my questions are there. The dashboard is pretty clear and concise to read. It tells you about the fees, what's going to the creditor, what their charges are, administrative fees, and so forth. I feel that I'm getting all the information from them.

We were told if we did our monthly payments we would get our debt resolved in a timely matter. We didn’t miss payments. We even gave a good size deposit above and beyond. Your company was still having issues settling our debt, so they sent us to your sister company to get a loan so we can settle faster. I’m pretty upset about the high interest rate since your company is the one who tanked my credit score through this process.
I wish I would have never started this process with your company. I should have gotten a lower interest loan and paid off my credit card debt. Then the money we might save by you negotiating our debts, might be a big waste because the credit cards can tax us on the money we saved and the high interest loan we had to do to settle our debts might eat us alive. To summarize this experience, I think it’s terrible! Your company should be a little more forthright. We had amazing credit before this experience and were overwhelmed with the amount of bills we had.

I was charged a very large amount of interest on a 2 year structured settlement. The credit card company would have settled with me for the same amount minus the interest ($1800). I have enough money on account to pay it off now, not over 2 years. My name was given to a loan company that works with FDR which loan would cost me even more interest. Would not recommend FDR to anyone.

I was skeptical at first but the company does what they tell you they are going to do. It’s a process but it works out in the long run. Two of my debts have been negotiated in months, 4 more to go... but they are bigger debts and I am patient to get the best deal.

I looked online and I noticed that Freedom Debt Relief's reviews were one of the best, so I decided to go with them. Enrolling was very easy to do. Speaking with somebody has always been excellent. For the worrisome part of the whole thing, Freedom has been a relief. They took over the burden off of my shoulders and took care of everything for me. I would definitely recommend them to anybody.

I trusted Freedom Debt Relief more than anybody else. They were easier to work with. I understood what I needed to do and what they were doing and they made it easier for me. I know how much I owe and certainly, it would lessen if I were able to increase my payments. I'm doing two a month and that's all I can do at this point.
I go into the website often and I get occasional emails. I had cancer a few years ago, and that's when my finances started to fail because my copay for my hospital was $100,000. Trying to pay that back and doing normal living bills was rough. My bills got behind. I started getting phone calls saying, “Why haven't you paid your bill?” Or even if I was paying some of it, I still had repeat phone calls saying, “You didn't make a full payment.” That would happen on a daily basis and you would try to explain, “Well, I had cancer,” but they really wouldn't care. They just want money, and I understand that. I work for a living and I wouldn't want my boss to say, “Oh, by the way, I don't have money to pay you this month.” That would suck. Working with Freedom has lessened the stress that I was under.

We have reduced our debt by nearly $8000 in the last 10 months. Freedom have let us know their strategy at each step and have managed so far to reduce some amounts by 50%... It feels good to know we are paying off our commitments and getting debt free. Freedom have had great luck negotiating our debts down so the crippling interest payments are no longer stopping us moving forward.

I am very happy with Freedom Debt Relief. They help me get out of debt, stay on top of my payments and settle my debt faster than I ever could have thought to do on my own. They have completely messed up a settlement. They closed my account before a settlement was reached. But managed to charge me a settlement fee and sent the company they were negotiating with money from my account but it won’t be a part of the settlement. Incompetent customer service rep and all I got was I’m sorry.

I have a friend who signed up with Freedom. She just signed up and she gave me the information. I thought whatever the offer was worked for me so I signed up with them. I understood what the rep said and I had all the information that I needed. However, I received a phone call from some other company that said they work with Freedom. They gave me an offer and wanted me to sign something. I realized that I will pay much more than what I am paying with Freedom now. I realized, Freedom did not call me and tell me to sign up with anybody else, so I'm gonna stay with Freedom and just stop whatever those people are trying to do. Hopefully, Freedom doesn't know much about that. But if they do, that's something they should look over.
My experience with Freedom is not completely perfect, but it's pretty good. The only thing is once you stop using your credit cards, when you're in the process of just reimbursing the companies, I don't know if there is anything that can be done so those people stop charging you for things you're not using anymore. If I had a $6,000 debt on a credit card, and then by the time that is the negotiation for me to pay it off and I accumulated enough money to pay it off, it would go up to 8,000. I hope that in the future there's a way for a company to call those credit cards and say that person decided to do so and so and stop charging the interest and late fees.

A friend of my daughter is a client of Freedom Debt Relief and they told me about them. I have recommended them to friends as well. Freedom Debt Relief told me what it was gonna cost and asked if I'd agree to it and I said yes. This is all over the phone or internet and I was reasonably comfortable. According to the way I was led to believe though, if I pay them $300 a month in three years (when I was supposed to have retired), it would be paid off. All these debts should be gone and I've come to find out it's not necessarily true. Now, I understand they may not be gone, even if I keep my end of the bargain.
I have forced retired three months ago and I got half the check that I used to have coming in. I don't want them to lower the payments 'cause I wanna get this paid off as soon as I can. I'll get by. I give them so much a month and they try to negotiate down the cost of my credit card bills. However, the guy I originally talked to didn't tell me that these companies were gonna send me 1099s that was gonna kick me in the rear at tax time. That was never mentioned and Synchrony Bank is really bad about it. Except for that one thing, it's always great.

Enrolled with FDR on 9/17 with a 4 yr plan for multiple CC debts accumulated from a divorce, thought it was the right thing to do... They pretty much do nothing but sit and wait for settlement offers to come to them. In one case, I received in the mail the exact settlement offer from the debtor given to me by FDR. So if a debt is enrolled, in most cases, by the time FDR “settles” it, the debt has grown substantially with intrest and fees.. FDR will settle the debt based in current amount and with their fees, it's sometimes MORE than the enrolled debt.. Total scam in my opinion.. I'm currently still enrolled and to 1 creditor, they pay 5$ monthly but charge me 3$ a month to do so.. Please be careful and research before signing anything.. Attached is a copy of a current lawsuit that was “settled” with the Federal Govt in 2019. **

Any interaction of mine with Freedom Debt Relief has been positive. The first guy was awesome. I was very comfortable with him. He gave me hope and was always excited for me to figure this out as I was. Whenever I had questions or concerns, they figured it out and got me answers. The payment plan was a set amount for how much your debt was. At one point I had to add extra in there.
Freedom hugely impacted my life. At that point in my life I had some income that substantially got lowered. That was when I thought I had to find some way to get control of these credit cards and get them paid off, and Freedom was there with an answer and helped me. I’m extremely grateful that I was able to figure that out and that they were able to help me. I've already sent some family members to Freedom. I let one of them know how awesome Freedom was. They absolutely are there to help you.

I pay $800 a month to Freedom, which is a lot of money. I don't know if this is really worth it in my position right now. I'm not really sure how this all works. When Freedom settles a debt, they don't really get back to me right away. Some things didn't even get charged-off or reduced. Their customer service is excellent though. I've been with the program for year and a half. Looking back, I probably would've looked at a different solution.

I had called American Debt Relief and they were so pushy until I just forgot about it. Then, National Debt Relief called me seven months after that. I'm satisfied with them. They have kept me abreast as much as possible because they wanna do online and I'm not too familiar with that. So every once in a while, I would call them. They settled three companies for me but they have some more to settle because my graduation date is 24. It has taken a lot of stress off from me from looking in the mail, opening all those bills and writing checks for them and trying to keep up. I'm 79. I'm writing and then my hand will slip and I’ll mess something up. So, it’s a blessing that I'm not writing those checks. Plus, I don't have all that high interest rate, which is a big help right there.

I have asked to take monies from checking acct. on first of month and again on the third (3rd) Wednesday of month. This is when my checks go into bank. I was charged $190.00 -NSF fees because the money was taken out on the 29th of month. I have a bare minimum in my checking acct the first and middle of month. PLEASE DO SOMETHING, I CAN'T AFFORD THESE CHARGES!!!

I'm 78 years old and I'm trying to get where I can retire in a couple of years. My goal was to get out of debt but the interest was just terrible. There was no way I could get them paid off. As it was, the money I paid in was just going for interest and the principal was not going down. Freedom Debt Relief has taken over three of my cards. They've dealt with them and got them reduced, and I'm paying them off. They've paid one off already. I keep up with it on the internet. I was pleased that I no longer got any calls from creditors. I recommend Freedom to anybody who's struggling with cards that charge such horrible high interest and wanting to get free of that where you can save a little money and try to live a little better. I'm very pleased with Freedom and hopefully, in a couple of years, I'll have them all paid off.

Freedom Debt Relief worked with me. They told me whenever I was ready, to let them know when to take the money out of my account. I received excellent progress from them. Every time I called somebody, they were very nice to me. Sometimes, I can get annoying by asking so many questions. But they took the time and was very patient with me.
Freedom made arrangements and they talked to each one of the creditors. Then they'd ask my opinion first before they'd do what they wanted to do. They’ve been honest with me. They estimated and they said that if I wanted to put more money on it, I could do it one time. My payment is a minimum of what I have now but if I want to put more money on it, I have that option for a one-time fee. I would definitely tell my friends and family to go with Freedom Debt Relief. I can call and ask questions without anybody getting aggravated with me.

A Freedom Debt Relief rep called me up and I sent him my information with the accounts I wanted them to take care of. Freedom told me the information I was looking for and I went with them. The rep whom I worked with was very considerate. That meant a lot to me as I was in bad shape at the time. Freedom's team told me how they were going to resolve my problems after I sent them the statement that I had on hand. They told me they were gonna contact each creditor company and then take out a certain amount off my checking account on the second of each month. Going with FDR has really helped my life so far. I don't have to worry so much about what's gonna be done with my debt. Things have worked out really well.

I was emailed that I owed Citi bank 8,945.00. I asked the guy on the phone to start taking out 1000.00 a month for the next 9 months and it should be paid in full. He put it in the system that you are drawing out a 1000.00 a month for the next 12 months. I DID NOT agree to 12 months. According to the above I will have it paid for in 9 months. Updated on 06/09/2022: It’s not because I did not like the service, but I already have accounts paid and done, but still count negative in my credit. I called and the representative, who was very polite and nice, told me that they do not control the other part… Since I was in the program I would like only clear information about why my credit still low. I really like this program and when I needed the legal assistant the lawyers were very nice and worked fast. I am still in the program, waiting to finish it. Thank you for all your help. A friend of mine was in the program and since I didn't know of any other providers, I worked with Freedom Debt Relief. Whether I would call them or email them, they were responsive either way. The guy also explained everything, including how the process would go and what to do. I was comfortable with him. The payment plan I have is based off of my debt and it was affordable for me at that point. All in all, it's a good plan to get out of debt.

Failure to provide assistance with Mariner. This company has been the only one that has persistently called and harassed me and threatened me with lawsuits and summons and court dates. I've received two summons and court date since I've been with your program and I've had to pay them monthly in order to avoid going to court. I've contacted your company each time and even went to ligation with no results. It seems that I'm paying a high fee each month and not receiving all the benefits

I had a guy from Freedom call me and he was explaining everything to me. He was very nice and very understanding so I thought they were the ones I wanna go with. The service is great. They offer all these services that if something comes along and something happens, they're willing to help through that, too. But they could try to find a way of settling things a little bit quicker because mine’s gonna be five years. Other than that, I've been with them for about two years now and I don't have anything bad to say about them at all.
My husband and I were struggling for a long time with credit card debt and it was like a lifesaver for us to get through this program. It has helped us get out of debt and we don't have people calling us all the time. It has really put a lot of positive attitude into our life. I had a couple of hardships and it got to a point where I couldn't pay my credit card bills. That's why I went with Freedom Debt Relief. And I'm glad I did. I just took a chance and it ended up being one of the best. Their reps have been really good to me. When I call them, they're very interested in what I say and I don't get on hold very much at all. They're always there to help and they're right there when I need them. They always want me to pay in advance, but I don't have any money. But everything else is working out great. Freedom Debt Relief has helped me begin resolving my debt at pretty good percentages but unfortunately, it's taking longer for me to be out of the program than was originally told. I started the program in January 2019 and I should be done by 2023 but now it says I won’t be graduating until sometime in 2024. I also haven’t really seen my credit go up.

The representative was very helpful, concerned, and caring when I voiced my frustration with recent credit report and score changes. Actually the decrease in my score was as a result of the creditors' reporting and not because of any action on behalf of FDR. From everything I researched, Freedom had the best ratings and reviews. They are easy to deal with, which really proved to be true. I got the credit consolidation program and they did what they were supposed to do. It was more stand off and let them do their thing and then they would contact me via email or text and I'd reply. Then it was set in motion and I could see online and through the dashboard. So it was pretty much a streamlined, easy, transparent process.
We kinda tallied everything up and they gave me a couple of number options as far as payment plan per month and set which one was gonna fit for me best. We settled on an initial one and it only moved up a couple of dollars one time because I had some bills that had shifted their due dates in the month, which then affected my available funds at a certain point when the assets were supposed to come out. The negotiator was able to talk to the ones that were in negotiations or under contract if they were comfortable of moving it, and some increased by a couple of bucks. But it was pretty straightforward and easy to do. I'm pretty satisfied with my experience. Hopefully I never have to repeat that process again. But I've learned a few tricks throughout the last couple years.

I’ve been with Freedom’s program for about six months and I’m satisfied with how they negotiated the accounts for me. Creditors aren’t calling all the time. I told them who my creditors were and they told me how much to pay a month in order to reach my goal. My timeframe is 48 months and I'm just barely getting started with them but they’ve negotiated with one so far.

The person I talk to sold me on the phone by saying if you pay the amount discussed that by debt would be down and better yet in a year or less my credit which was good by the way would be the same and or even better and this would be possible simply by making my payments. This has been totally false.

Overall I am happy but recently there was a mistake made that really cost me. I had called to change my payment date and increase my amount. This was done but he did not cancel the previously scheduled payment date and it cost me money with the bank because of a bounced payment which left me too short in funds for July.

My husband and I are just finishing 4 years with Freedom and are just thrilled to be at the end of this long journey. I would say our experience would rate a 9 out of 10. Every single person we dealt with has always been kind, courteous, knowledgeable and understanding. I never felt as if I was being rushed off the phone or that the person was annoyed that I was asking an unimportant question. Never! I didn’t give a 10 rating for one reason! When we first joined we spoke to I would guess a salesman whose job it was to convince us to join! He was super nice, bright and he was the reason we signed up. We believed in him!
The problem was that we asked him if when we saved money on an account did we have to claim that money on our income tax. We were told by friends who had used different companies to consolidate their debt that they had to do this and it wound up costing them a lot of money. So we wanted to be certain this would not be a problem and he assured us it wouldn’t be and if we did get forms from the IRS all we had to do was have our tax preparer fill out a certain form and the problem would be solved! Of course that wasn’t true and for 4 years we had to count the money we saved on settled accounts as income and we wound up paying taxes every year we were in Freedom! But even with that we were happy with the results, paid off 48 credit cards, improved our credit immensely, and we learned how to manage our money better!
We never missed a payment, paid $2900 to Freedom a month and made sure everything was running smoothly. I was involved 100% in the entire process! I don’t think it can work any other way! I would recommend Freedom to anyone who has a spending problem! As a matter of fact, my daughter and her husband are enrolled and almost at the end of their program. For me and my husband, Freedom was a lifesaver without any doubt! It taught me so much about all the mistakes I made over the years and we are cured now of our bad habits and decisions! Updated on 03/03/2021: I called Freedom Debt Relief and from what I was told by Jade, the person I talked to, it sounded better than I believe it is right now. He made it sound like it was going to be such a relief and so much easier. After I got signed up and a few calls later, I tried to call him and got told that he no longer works there. So, he made me feel comfortable enough. I was hoping it'd still be him I was working with. There's not one particular person working on my account like they did when I talked to him. So, it feels like whoever you call, you lay and look it up and that's who you're talking to.
I'm retired and from what they take out of my check, it was a big chunk. So, I hadn't paid anything else with what was left and it was hard. It was a tight squeeze but I'm doing okay with it now. I’m managing alright. I've never had to go through this before and I'm disappointed with myself that I had to. Because usually, I always manage to keep everything paid. This one is still paying people but it wasn't what I went through before. I'm down to one, if not two bills left and then I'll be done as far as all negotiations on anything.
Original Review: So far I'm happy with the service. I don't have to worry about handling calls from creditors. Money is tight especially when emergency arises. Had to have roof repaired, it was tight but I'm handling it a lot easier than if I had to worry about paying other creditors.

To be honest, I was a bit skeptical about FDR because I never relied on anyone to bail me out if my own troubles. I let some time pass before I submitted a review to give an honest assessment to anyone that may have that same mindset. Updated on 02/18/2021: Although letting our debts go past due has killed our credit score, the stress relief from not receiving many collection calls everyday has been wonderful. The couple debts that we received court action on were handled so efficiently that we didn't have to go to court and they are now being paid. It's been so easy for us to get out of debt. A little more to go and we will graduate

I’ve tried to talk to someone regarding my difficulty paying the monthly amount since March. I need to hold back a payment due to needing car repairs and needing to go to a doctor. I was hesitant to start the process with Freedom initially because I read mixed reviews. I asked the first contact about them and he told me upfront that there were ideal situations, imperfect situations, and some that just did not work with the program. I understood that my credit score could suffer during negotiations and I knew patience was required. Also, there are fees. I settled a very small debt for more than the settlement letter the creditor sent me, (once the Freedom fees were assessed), but I was able to roll it in to my monthly payment, avoid the stressful negotiations, and know that my settlement was covered by the deposits in my dedicated account.
Can you do it without Freedom? Yes and no. I could probably have settled some of the accounts myself, but one in particular was settled as part of a bulk negotiation for a small percentage of the balance owed. That one account made all of them worth it. I have found all of the representatives I have contacted to be professional and flexible. They sincerely want to help. I am very happy with the process and look forward to my “graduation” date.
