Absolutely every time I call or Freedom calls me I have complete confidence that this is going to work for me. They answered all my questions be it the smallest trivial one. This is very nice company. At first I wasn’t sure that I should do this since I was the one that charged but a lot of my charging was for a basic food electrical items of that sort.

Updated on 06/17/2022: Freedom Debt Relief saved me a lot of money and helped me pay off my debts in a timely manner. I didn't have to file bankruptcy, as a result. The payments were within my ability to pay. I was always treated with respect, and the people are true professionals.
Original Review: I have just entered the program. I am happy not to have to deal with my creditors at this point. I will have more to say when I have been in the program long enough to evaluate the results. For now, I will wait and see how it goes.

I am at the beginning of my consolidation, but up to now I have been extremely happy with the service thus far. We got a counselor Pat that is on top of his business. He was so helpful and understanding and efficient. He answers texts right now or calls you back immediately. All of the paperwork is done online and sooo easy. Pat explained everything clearly and was VERY patient when he had to make it clearer to an old woman. They work with you on payment due dates and Pat even sends me texts to remind me it's coming up. We had an extra glitch with ours and they smoothly worked with us on it also. I am very happy with Pat and how efficient it all was.

Updated on 04/15/2020: I have a great peace of mind and I feel very relaxed since of joining FDR and the fact that all of the phone calls that were coming in started to slack off and the threatening mail is starting to slack off help me to feel even better.

Updated on 04/08/2022: I am very thankful that I made that call in 2018 to sign up for your program. For the last four years, I had only about 3 phone calls with them which are very fruitful and never had any problems. I am very happy that my last credit was settled recently and looking forward to graduating soon. This recommendation is not only to a friend, but also to those who are having financial problems.
Updated on 09/08/2020: Freedom Debt Relief is an excellent company to work with when it comes to credit debts. November 2018 is when I applied for FDR services. In the beginning I was wondering if this is really a legitimate company. However, I found out later that you can access the progress of your debts status with them online and also FDR is always available to answer any questions you have by phone.
Twenty four months later, they have negotiated 6 of my 7 debts. I also believe that the fees they charge are very fair. I am very thankful to FDR with the progress of my account. Had I not asked for their assistance, I believe that I will be 93 years old to finally pay my debts if I will only pay the minimum on my accounts. Due to the above, I would not hesitate to recommend FDR to relatives and friends. Thank you FDR.
Original Review: It's been more than 8 months since I signed up with FDR and I can honestly say that I am extremely satisfied with the outcome of my enrollment with them. My anxiety every time the phone rings thinking that it is one of my credit was diminished. The only thing that I am not sure of is paying taxes on the reduced debts. I have read many comments regarding this and up until I am at that point, I don't really know if everything is worth it. Right now, I just wish to thank the staff of FDR for their great efforts in reducing my credit cards debt. Thank you.

I have always wanted to hide my debt to do something about it. I finally got the courage to get rid of it forever. Shortly after that decision to sign with FDR, I fell and broke my hip. It sealed my decision because I am in a nursing home for a few more weeks. And I am not worried because I knew I was set up with the right people, the right company and that they will support me during this challenging time. So far all is well.

Updated on 10/04/2020: Our experience with them has been very good. The rep, Tom, was very open and the quality of service was outstanding. I’ve been with Freedom for 16 months and working with them helps. I can see my debt going down now. But there was one highlight that was not good. They had somebody call me and offer us to get a loan to a company that's affiliated with Freedom Debt. It was gonna pay my debt faster. It’s not proper to try to do that to somebody if your main goal in the beginning was to get out of debt without getting loans. I called the rep back and told her that it sounded good but I don't want to do it.
Original review: From the very start everyone I talked with was outstanding. They were very eager to help me and in my opinion were very professional. From the first phone call the program was explained in detail, all questions I had were answered, this is also true to additional calls I made. I applied for a loan with GreenLink, basically trying to obtain more debt to cover debt, and I was just so far gone and lost. Instead of a loan and more debt Freedom Debt Relief freed up some of my income and I actually have a real date when my debts will be paid off.

I paid off my loan in Feb. I have called I can't tell you how many times to get my money back that is sitting in my account. I was told in May a check would be mailed. I was told in June it would be another 7-10 days but then I would get "graduation paperwork" and my money. As of July 1 NOTHING was done. Your service is awful. You all pass the buck and NOBODY does anything. Today I was told I have to pay $10.00 to get MY MONEY sent back to me.

I was notified today by the law firm that handled my suit by one of my creditors that a payment for almost a year ago was not made. The money that I have deducted from my checking account has been taken out every month. But the month in question had not been paid to the creditor. The money, however, had been deducted from my checking account. When I called FDR no one could answer the question of why the money was not paid or what was the problem. This happened in September of 2018. Wouldn't you think that their quality control or whatever it is called now would have been instituted to check on this error? Now they cannot tell me why or when this will be resolved. I am not at all happy about this. Up to this point I can truthfully say I thought everything was fine and being handled promptly and properly. But big surprise when they tell you all the fees and interest will be on your shoulders.

I left a message concerning emails I received to complete and to contact my lenders with Ashton **. I have not had a response and I will be out of town beginning 7/6 - 18th. I was asked to give my lenders addresses provided so that I would not receive mail from them. I am getting emails and phone calls. I thought this was taken care of by Ashton.

I wanted to consolidate my debt, so I would quit getting calls and get them paid off. Freedom Debt Relief put everything I owed together. I pay so much a month and they pay off my creditors. They set up like a monthly payment and then, they split it in half. So, I would pay half on one date and then half on another date. My consultant was good. He explained everything thoroughly, and I was impressed with his eagerness to help. I feel very comfortable working with him. If I had any questions, he answered them. Unhappy with results of first settlement which put me further in debt and required me to pay even more than I can afford.. One of my creditors took me to court which Freedom said no worries because their attorney would handle it.. which they did. They settled for full amount plus court cost and made my payments more then what I am paying Freedom so any further debts to be negotiated would require me to pay double what I am paying now. I am living under the poverty level and have filled out the hardship papers but it all seems to me to be how much they can get from me.

When looking at enrolled balances and settlement fees, the program only saved me $5,161.92 on 8 accounts. 1 account saved $3,169.94 of this so the rest were very poor. This caused almost an entire year to be added to my program. Three accounts ended in lawsuits even though funds were available to be in negotiations. This instantly ended any bargaining opportunity and I felt that if I didn’t want a judgement I had to take the first deal they offered. One of these actually cost me $571.41 more than my enrolled balance. Add in monthly account fees, attorney fees, and check writing fees and I saved very little money. I would not recommend this program.

Had to call the bank to get the balances on these accounts. Said that they weren't able to. Do not understand why they couldn't do it because I've done it before through classic credit. Union called and got them and got them back to him. They called me once before over this. Give me the wrong number. I contacted the bank and it was the wrong bank that contacted. I was able to get to the right bank and get the balance as form and send it to him.

I tried Freedom and it worked well. They have helped me and were able to work with me on a payment plan. It definitely lowered my monthly payments on all of my credit cards. However, I had a horrible experience with the litigation. It was extreme confusion about a settlement and a case and they kept sending back different contracts to sign and it wasn’t matching with what they said. I found out that the lawyers weren’t even the ones that were taking care of it, it was the secretary. It was a really weird call where she ended up crying on the phone and it wasn’t her job to do this and she was trying to do it the best way that she could. I was very worried that they were gonna somehow screw something up. And to this day, I don’t even know how it managed to work out. Every time I call back to try to get it fixed, they transfer us. It seems like nobody will tell us what they’re doing.

I was very nervous about this whole process. Now that they have reached my first settlement I feel much more confidence in the process. My hardest thing to deal with is the damage to my credit score but I was barely making ends meet with no end in sight barely making minimum payments on my credit cards. I have been with FDR since February, 2019 and I have been happy with the services. However, since March, 2019 I have been unable to sign into my account. I called customer service and they fixed the problem, but it only lasted one month. Since June 15 I cannot log on to my account. Every time I try to sign in I get a message "oops something went wrong". All I want to know is the status of my account and my balance and how many more months will I have to pay before everything is resolved. I am planning on retiring but I cannot until this debt is paid.

I asked for Sprint not to be negotiated and you did. Too high of fees charged. I will never get these debts resolved. I was not told about a fee every time you negotiate. The large fee assessed on the Sprint acct could have paid a few cc’s.

So I was a little upset with that because I had sent letters from debt collectors and I’ve sent them twice and the other people answering the phone said they never got them so I don’t know what’s going on over there but I wish somebody would check on that and get back to me because nobody is returning my calls.

I did a lot of research before I decided on Freedom Debit Relief. I had tried to help 2 of my children through some rough times in their life. I had 2 families living with me making very little income. My son & his wife were trying to overcome drug and alcohol addictions. Last year They both took their lives. I paid for one funeral, the second 5 months later my cards were maxed. Trying to keep roof over our head and feed and cloth 3 small girls that had lost their 1 parent now 2. Thankfully an old family friend helped me to get my son home from TX for me to see and say good bye. I knew I needed help the debts were overwhelming not to mention the grief myself, my daughter & 3 little girls were going through. Just a little confused why the rush to pay off accounts. The initial program was to not consolidate as the creditors could tell I was just refinancing a debt. Oh well, I assume you will get another slight payment higher as I have interest to pay on the loan.

Things started out great, but when I called several times and was told I would need to speak to "Maria" she NEVER returned my call, not once. I was also a bit shocked to see my credit score decline so rapidly and that has impacted me in many other areas of my life - not just with respect to credit card debt. Also I was not made aware that creditors could still report the difference in amount to the IRS.. This was not EMPHASIZED at the signing of the agreement. Waste of time and money drops your credit worse than if you just filed bankruptcy. They drag the payments out so they can draw more interest on your account. People would be better off filing bankruptcy. Your credit score would be better off and climb back up faster.

I think it is very important to have someone qualified, on staff, to explain what happens during tax time. I will not see an account until Spring 2020. I want to know what's happening or going to happen now! I'm in a debt program. I not going to have thousands of dollars to pay in taxes on settlements.

I would recommend Freedom Debt Relief to anyone. They described exactly what would happen through the entire process and through it all to date it has been accurate. Although my Credit Rating has taken a hit at this time I am looking forward to becoming debt free. In the mean time, I am saving some payment money on a month-to-month basis.

I'm not too happy with the amount of money you are charging me to settle these accounts. For every transaction you settle you charge me almost half of the settlement amount. You settle one last account for me in the amount of $ 960.00 but you charge me $281.00 settlement fees. I'm going to see if there is something better out here. Because I think you are charging me too much to settle these accounts. I'm staying with the program until I find other solution. Thank You.

Appears that FDR is more interested in making money than assisting clients. Charge for every little service and take your fees first. I wish I had called the lenders first and tried to work out on my own. Freedom Debt Relief sucks.

I am not receiving all the services that I was told about. I have been diligent in staying on track. I have increased my biweekly deposit. I have not moved into the consolidation invite. I have been told because I did not stay on target with my plan. Not true at all. To this day no one has done an audit on my account or called me back to tell me why I did not qualify.

I was emailed and asked to respond to FDR to either reject or approve two new accts that could be placed on my program. We found them to be bogus requests, as they were very, very old accounts, and had be long settled. I was upset that these were not back-checked, before presenting them to me by email. The lovely young lady who answered my call at FDR, was very cordial and polite in helping me with this issue.

Updated on 05/11/2020: Anybody that I’ve spoken to in customer service from the very beginning to recently when I had a follow-up seemed to be very knowledgeable about what they were talking about and explained things to me even though it was not always what I liked to hear. I was appreciative of their knowledge. The only thing I have a problem with is that every time I consider everything, and now that I’m nearing the end, I don’t think I saved as much money as I had hoped to see when weighing in the fees although the savings were okay. The other thing was my credit got wrecked for a period of time, which for me was okay, but for some people might not be that. But whatever helps is better than what it was. I started seeing some of my debts get resolved a few months. There were three debts and they’re working on the third and last one now.
Original Review: I have found FDR to be something I am happy to be a part of. The reps were friendly and helpful but the most important part is reducing debt. So far they have reduced debt on one account and I look forward for them doing it on two others.

Creditor reported me as deceased. I called customer service because I wasn’t quite sure how to handle/fix my situation. The representative I talked to on the phone was outstanding! He was understanding and knowledgeable. He put me at ease about a very serious situation. Unfortunately, when he tried to transfer me to the one question survey at the end of our conversation, the system wouldn’t allow him to transfer me. After multiple attempts, he was unsuccessful. I wish I would have been able to rate him as an individual. HE WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!

I was terrified going through this process but FDR has been amazing. I feel more confident and I am watching my debt disappear. Watching your credit score go down is heartbreaking but as you go through the program there is light at the end of the tunnel. I continued to pay into my dedicated account and by making the payments on time I was given the opportunity to get a consolidation loan to make my debt disappear faster and it is. I love the fact that I can send an email about any question I have and a real person will respond to you with the answers and understanding of the emotions and stress you have going through this process. Freedom Debt Relief provided easy step by step advice to help reduce my debt. They said that the first settlement usually takes approximately 6 months. I started in January and received my first settlement offer in June at 35% of the amount owed.
