Two of my accounts have been settled for more than I owed not less, I have ruined my credit score for this service and it is not working the way I was told it would. I am not happy about how this settlement was handled.

Not once has Freedom Debt Relief let me down. The people at FDR are consistently professional and prompt. Sometimes I feel as if I'm a "problem customer" because I tend to call fairly often. If I am, the folks at FDR are good at hiding it. They are always very helpful. I can't say enough good things about them. Thank you for the good work you do!

I have a job that requires a high level of security clearance so I knew filing bankruptcy was not an option for me, despite the credit card debt I was drowning in. Debts from caring for aging parents with expensive care and medical needs. I wouldn’t begrudge them a penny, but I knew I had to do something quickly! Freedom allowed me to pay what I’d actually spent, negotiating with creditors to do away with the heavy weight of interest that has accrued in the accounts. I still have many months to pay on the settlements, but at least the accounts don’t show delinquent. Unfortunately some show as chargeoffs, but that’s still better than a bankruptcy. The debt settlement will adversely affect my credit score does 7 years, but a bankruptcy would too. Plus, I was able to keep my security clearance because I showed I just didn’t declare bankruptcy and walk away form my commitments. Thanks, Freedom for giving me another option?

I saw Freedom Debt Relief on social media and when I called them, they were immediately helpful. When we were drowning, it was nice to get hope in getting out of our situation. We had personal loans and credit cards that we’re in. Originally, they told me the program would take four years and so far, we have a couple more years on it. For the most part, everything that we needed to be taken care of had been taken care of and we don't have that much left on the plan. They did everything for us when creditors didn't want to listen to any issues we were having. It all amounted to health problems that caused it in the first place and they didn't want to hear it. And when they called here, rather than the nasty calls, we could just say that the matter had been turned over and that they should contact Freedom Debt Relief. It also stopped the threats of being taken to court.

Original Review: Good job so far. Not many calls some emails about it. Good service when answering important information. Would like to up the amount to $300.00 from $214 if that would help and keep the ball rolling. What else can I say? Freedom Debt Relief is dealing with all of the companies for me and none of them have called me. I also split the payment up to two payments a month to make it even smaller and more manageable. So, it works for me. I've only had one little issue but that's not pertaining to their service. They received something that got sent to them on accident and I was not getting it back. Also, there's always the stress ‘cause of your credit report but that's not their fault. Beyond that, they've been dealing with the issues and trying to help me get my debts resolved as quickly as I can.

Do not use this company. They will take money even after you telling them not to. I was told by customer service not to worry the account was locked and they couldn’t take money. LIE, they took it anyway... Then I called to get my money back and the rep told me to call back in 4 days. Ummmm not. I will not when you were told not to touch the account and another rep said they wouldn’t touch my account because it was locked. I still have to yet get my money back from these people. I was told the check would be here in 2 days, it’s been 4 and no check. Then another rep said they didn’t mail a check so they are all a bunch of liars and thieves.

So I was laid off for a few months and had to discontinue payments. Now they tell me I need to call in every month or else they are charging me extra to make up for the 2 months I missed. It's disgusting.

I accepted my first credit card as a college student and never looked back. I ran up debt, paid it off with consolidation loans or zero balance cards, then racked it up again. For 20 years this was my pattern. Freedom Debt Relief is a wake-up call and exactly what I needed. They did what I didn't have the guts to do. I'm terrible at negotiating. I hated not paying what I owed but at the rate I was going I never would have been able to. FDR was clear, concise and their process is completely transparent. Yes, I pay a fee, but it's after they negotiated down my debt, which is still a savings. Yes, my credit tanked. But I was well on my way to bad credit on my own. The temporary bad credit served as extra incentive to stop living beyond my means and start taking my financial health seriously.
I highly recommend subscribing to their very affordable legal service. Creditors are conditioned to get nasty and resort to threats to get you to pay. Between FDR and the legal team NLLG, I didn't have to deal with it. My favorite part, which really helps calm my ultra-organized brain, is their website/dashboard where you can watch all the stages of payments and negotiations. I'm not in a position to make extra payments, but the plan they put into place works for me. Now all my debt is in one payment, which is lower than what I was paying to 4 different creditors on my own. I enrolled close to $60k. I feel like they earn their fee. And their customer service is prompt, attentive and reassuring.

When I first called FDR, I was full of questions and concerns! After years of fighting with debt, trying to keep up With multiple payments that were keeping us in debt, I called FDR. The whole experience with Freedom Debt Relief has been great. I knew someone that had the program and they had suggested it. I was in a bind and I had gotten into some credit card debt. By the time I've paid all my credit card bills every month, I was not having enough to buy groceries with. All I have is my social security check. I was reading my newspaper and saw a Freedom Debt Relief ad. It sounded interesting and that it might help me. I called them and they took my phone number then a representative called me. We discussed my problem and they came up with the solution. I asked if they have a trial program. He said that it won't even really be a program. I could try it for a little while and see what they could do for me and then if I'm not happy, we'd just cancel it. He said that it'll probably take me a couple of years for them to get everything together and my account settled on a regular payment basis. I said okay and I tried it.
Within the first two months, I already had a settlement on one. Every time I would call them to ask them a question 'cause I would forget what I had asked them before, they would always have a different person. They have explained stuff to me. They have told me where to go and look on my dashboard where I could get written answers, that I wouldn't forget it. Every single person that I had talked to at that company has been kind and patient. I'm so happy and pleased with them. It's been a year and I only have one more credit card that they're working on and I'll be completely making a settlement payment. They've gotten my debt to about half of what I actually owed, so they helped me a lot. I have recommended them.

So far so good! It was very slow in the beginning, but at this point most of my debt has been negotiated. I am hoping the rest will be soon! I have added additional funds to my monthly deposit and this seems to have helped.

Everything was pretty easy with Freedom. Every time I’ve had to get through anybody, it’s right away. Even in sending some stuff through email, I get a response back. I've also worked a couple of cases with their legal team with certain accounts and that's always been really helpful. I wish they have an app on the phone to check the dashboard and check on things. But the text messages are great when we’re talking about any settlements or accounts that they resolve. They're pretty good. I'm done sometime next year.

I had a work friend who went through Freedom Debt Relief. I decided to work with them as well since I had the best customer service help from their reps compared to two other companies I looked into. I didn't get pushed and I didn't feel pressured to pick Freedom, and I really liked that. I had a credit card with about 10k on it that I needed debt relief help with and it only took six months for them to settle that credit card, which was a lot shorter than what I thought it was going to be. I'm almost done paying it off and it's only been a year. So, that's awesome.
Aside from that, Freedom Debt Relief's negotiators were very professional whenever they would call. They'd always call me back very fast and they had every answer to any question that I could have. Plus, they reassured me multiple times on the questions that I would have. I would email them then I would call and talk to people. And if someone didn't know what I was asking, they made sure to give me a point of contact of someone that did know. Then within an hour, I had two people calling me to help resolve whatever issue I had. I didn't expect their friendliness and professionalism just from talking over the phone, but you can see that Freedom was a very professional company.
They also provided me with monthly updates on my payments via email and the second that it was updated, they called me about 10 minutes after I got the email to make sure that I received it so that I could proceed with the program. All in all, working with them has taken the stress of worrying about debt that was piling up with crazy APRs just to a whole another level. I've been almost debt-free because of the program and I couldn't be happier.

I enrolled 7 accounts and started the process in June, 2020. FDR has negotiated a settlement with one of my creditors saving me money and I look forward to settling with the remainder of creditors.

Freedom Debt Relief will knock out all your past due debt. I barely been using it and a lot of my creditors reduced the price. Also if you refer someone then they get a bonus after 90 days. They cut my bill in half and it's easy to make payments too.

I researched two or three companies and then I started calling around and asking some of my friends. The feedback was favorable. I liked Freedom Debt Relief's program that they explained to me. I really enjoyed their program and their customer service people. They're right on the money. They hit a time where I really needed them to be there. It was a very favorable experience for me. My particular program is four years and I finished three, so I'm well on my way but still long ways to go. I thought it was doable for what I owed and I still wanted to pay my creditors, but I had to make some adjustments.
I realized that the law firm doesn't get a whole lot but I was disappointed when I called them because I got served by one of my banks that I had a credit card with and they were very weak on how they responded. They just said, "Oh, you have to deal with it." Isaid, "Well, what, you won't give me a letter, you won't give me any advice or anything like that?" At the time, it was a bit scary because we ended up settling. The only reason I didn't have to go to court was that COVID closed the courts. They can still take you to court in any time. But I was looking for more help, maybe a letter just to say, "Hey, we're working with you guys already," whatever, just something. But they gave me nothing. You're on your own. But other than that, I really liked their program. It's something I needed, and making through for me, so I'm very happy with Freedom Debt Relief.

Communication is good with Freedom. They don't bother me unless I have a question and I haven't had any. But I'm waiting for a call to say everything is complete. It's going into four years now. I thought I would be about done but they were handling two cases for me. They completed one but we're still dealing with Discovery. It's taking a long time and I just wanna know when I'm finished with the program. Other than that, I have no complaint because it’s payroll deduction.

I am not sure who I spoke with but when I first came on board I needed a letter stating exactly what cases FDR was working on for me and that we were waiting on certain letters from creditors to add them in my debt. The first person I spoke with at "FDR Zachary had to write this letter for me or else I would lose my job. Not the customer experience team. Not a good start.

Freedom Debt Relief was not helpful at home but threatening. I authorized a $100 debit from my account on 24 July but was told that the processing time of around 10 days was not sufficient to meet the deadline. I was asked instead to wire the money to Crossroads. I asked the rep to use my Debit Card but she said it was not possible.

When I talked to the first person about consolidation of creditors he went through the process very fast, and I couldn't understand a lot of it, he finally went through it slower explaining parts of it, it's taken much longer than he said it would thus really ruining my credit rating. He also wanted me to add a account and I told him NO but he added it anyhow, I finally had it taken off because it was interest free and payments were within reason to make.

Freedom Debt Relief sent a message to my email. I checked it out and then I talked to Mr. Mark. He let me know that I could always start at any time if things would get a little rough for me. Sometimes, I do run across a rough spot but I've gone ahead and let them take the 200 out every month. I've been with Freedom since last year and everything is pretty good, so far. They are professional and helpful and I'm comfortable with them. I've got three cards out of the way already and I'm working on a couple of more. Hopefully, I could get them knocked out of the way by the end of the year or at least before spring next year. I’m pretty satisfied with Freedom. I'm also trying to get one of my daughters to contact them but she's not ready yet.

I received a post card that I was going to be taken to court for Spire Credit Union. I called. Your person said when I get a court date call them back so I did. That person told me, "WE WILL TAKE CARE OF THAT." Never once telling me the phone number to call for National Litigation. Somewhere in the call they did say I have to call National Litigation but didn't say here is their phone number. Also I should of been told in the very beginning that Spire Credit union will not negotiate a debt relief. If I was told that I could of negotiated a settlement with them before it got to a court date. Now I have to pay the $7500.00 in full.
I think you guys should have to pay half of that. Also as I'm looking at the payoffs my debt was only reduced by maybe $2000.00 per $10,000 in debt because of your high service fees and me paying for National Litigation and I couldn't even use it because of your customer service didn't give me the phone number for National Litigation and also I was told you would take care of it. I assume that your company would be calling National Litigation. I'm not real happy about your company.

Updated on 03/04/2021: I had been working with a couple of the credit people for four or five years and they weren't willing to help me. They weren't willing to take payments. They’d rather close the account and I didn't want accounts closed. I wanted to pay them off. With FDR's help, I've been able to go back, pick up the accounts that were closed and pay them off. I have recommended them to other people and they have started with them.
The only thing that I had a concern with over this entire process was I had submitted everything originally. Way down the road, it came back that there were dates and parts of account numbers missing. FDR couldn't find the information so I had to track down and go through the credit bureaus to get all the information. When it all came down to it, the account had two separate names on the same account number. That was really confusing to me and I was the one who had to sort it out. It would have made more sense for FDR to help me sort it out.
Original Review: They were able to answer all my questions. Helped me understand about the independent agency that was contacting me and why. The customer service agent was also able to tell me when my final bill would be paid off. I would contact customer service again with any questions.

Freedom was a little bit more streamlined and I liked the ease of going. The fees and stuff like that were a little bit less than others. The timeframe was also gonna be a little bit faster. They said last time it would be four years. But if I paid more, it would cut the timeframe down. Half of my debts have already been paid off and I also increased my monthly deductions to help expedite that as well. Their customer service is really quick to respond and they always take their time. They're not ever rushing you. Everything's really good.

I found Freedom online and picked them randomly. I was in need of that kind of service. Their customer service has been very upfront. I was told that it would be four years for me to get everything paid off. They settled some of the debts. Since the COVID thing, I had to miss a couple of payments and they were very understanding.

I liked what the team at Freedom Debt Relief was talking about and how the man presented himself. We just seemed to click. The rep gave me lots of information that I felt comfortable with at the time. Working with them has worked out pretty well. I didn’t have any problem so far. When something happens, they notify me if it's okay for me to approve a settlement.
Working with them has given me some peace of mind and has allowed me to do some other things. Once they negotiated what I had to pay and maneuvered the payments around, it freed me up to focus on some other things. It afforded me an opportunity to address some credit card issues and then, most of my debt and loans. I also was able to relax. I was getting a lot of phone calls from creditors. That’s ceased and desist. I got a few more creditors, four more to be negotiated, but I have five that went under negotiation and came to some settlement. My program seems to be making some progress. I'm not where I wanna be with it, but I'm not where I was. I've been satisfied with their process.

I’ve been working with Freedom Debt for a few years. They have been settling cases and my debts and they contact me if anything pops up. When I have questions, I contact them and they inform me about statutes of limitations and things of that nature. I appreciate that. For the most part, all I have to do is got to my dashboard and the answers to my questions are there. The dashboard is pretty clear and concise to read. It tells you about the fees, what's going to the creditor, what their charges are, administrative fees, and so forth. I feel that I'm getting all the information from them.

We were told if we did our monthly payments we would get our debt resolved in a timely matter. We didn’t miss payments. We even gave a good size deposit above and beyond. Your company was still having issues settling our debt, so they sent us to your sister company to get a loan so we can settle faster. I’m pretty upset about the high interest rate since your company is the one who tanked my credit score through this process.
I wish I would have never started this process with your company. I should have gotten a lower interest loan and paid off my credit card debt. Then the money we might save by you negotiating our debts, might be a big waste because the credit cards can tax us on the money we saved and the high interest loan we had to do to settle our debts might eat us alive. To summarize this experience, I think it’s terrible! Your company should be a little more forthright. We had amazing credit before this experience and were overwhelmed with the amount of bills we had.

I was charged a very large amount of interest on a 2 year structured settlement. The credit card company would have settled with me for the same amount minus the interest ($1800). I have enough money on account to pay it off now, not over 2 years. My name was given to a loan company that works with FDR which loan would cost me even more interest. Would not recommend FDR to anyone.

I was skeptical at first but the company does what they tell you they are going to do. It’s a process but it works out in the long run. Two of my debts have been negotiated in months, 4 more to go... but they are bigger debts and I am patient to get the best deal.

I trusted Freedom Debt Relief more than anybody else. They were easier to work with. I understood what I needed to do and what they were doing and they made it easier for me. I know how much I owe and certainly, it would lessen if I were able to increase my payments. I'm doing two a month and that's all I can do at this point.
I go into the website often and I get occasional emails. I had cancer a few years ago, and that's when my finances started to fail because my copay for my hospital was $100,000. Trying to pay that back and doing normal living bills was rough. My bills got behind. I started getting phone calls saying, “Why haven't you paid your bill?” Or even if I was paying some of it, I still had repeat phone calls saying, “You didn't make a full payment.” That would happen on a daily basis and you would try to explain, “Well, I had cancer,” but they really wouldn't care. They just want money, and I understand that. I work for a living and I wouldn't want my boss to say, “Oh, by the way, I don't have money to pay you this month.” That would suck. Working with Freedom has lessened the stress that I was under.

We have reduced our debt by nearly $8000 in the last 10 months. Freedom have let us know their strategy at each step and have managed so far to reduce some amounts by 50%... It feels good to know we are paying off our commitments and getting debt free. They have completely messed up a settlement. They closed my account before a settlement was reached. But managed to charge me a settlement fee and sent the company they were negotiating with money from my account but it won’t be a part of the settlement. I have a friend who signed up with Freedom. She just signed up and she gave me the information. I thought whatever the offer was worked for me so I signed up with them. I understood what the rep said and I had all the information that I needed. However, I received a phone call from some other company that said they work with Freedom. They gave me an offer and wanted me to sign something. I realized that I will pay much more than what I am paying with Freedom now. I realized, Freedom did not call me and tell me to sign up with anybody else, so I'm gonna stay with Freedom and just stop whatever those people are trying to do. Hopefully, Freedom doesn't know much about that. But if they do, that's something they should look over.
My experience with Freedom is not completely perfect, but it's pretty good. The only thing is once you stop using your credit cards, when you're in the process of just reimbursing the companies, I don't know if there is anything that can be done so those people stop charging you for things you're not using anymore. If I had a $6,000 debt on a credit card, and then by the time that is the negotiation for me to pay it off and I accumulated enough money to pay it off, it would go up to 8,000. I hope that in the future there's a way for a company to call those credit cards and say that person decided to do so and so and stop charging the interest and late fees.

A friend of my daughter is a client of Freedom Debt Relief and they told me about them. I have recommended them to friends as well. Freedom Debt Relief told me what it was gonna cost and asked if I'd agree to it and I said yes. This is all over the phone or internet and I was reasonably comfortable. According to the way I was led to believe though, if I pay them $300 a month in three years (when I was supposed to have retired), it would be paid off. All these debts should be gone and I've come to find out it's not necessarily true. Now, I understand they may not be gone, even if I keep my end of the bargain.
I have forced retired three months ago and I got half the check that I used to have coming in. I don't want them to lower the payments 'cause I wanna get this paid off as soon as I can. I'll get by. I give them so much a month and they try to negotiate down the cost of my credit card bills. However, the guy I originally talked to didn't tell me that these companies were gonna send me 1099s that was gonna kick me in the rear at tax time. That was never mentioned and Synchrony Bank is really bad about it. Except for that one thing, it's always great.

Enrolled with FDR on 9/17 with a 4 yr plan for multiple CC debts accumulated from a divorce, thought it was the right thing to do... They pretty much do nothing but sit and wait for settlement offers to come to them. In one case, I received in the mail the exact settlement offer from the debtor given to me by FDR. So if a debt is enrolled, in most cases, by the time FDR “settles” it, the debt has grown substantially with intrest and fees.. FDR will settle the debt based in current amount and with their fees, it's sometimes MORE than the enrolled debt.. Total scam in my opinion.. I'm currently still enrolled and to 1 creditor, they pay 5$ monthly but charge me 3$ a month to do so.. Please be careful and research before signing anything.. Attached is a copy of a current lawsuit that was “settled” with the Federal Govt in 2019. **

Any interaction of mine with Freedom Debt Relief has been positive. The first guy was awesome. I was very comfortable with him. He gave me hope and was always excited for me to figure this out as I was. Whenever I had questions or concerns, they figured it out and got me answers. The payment plan was a set amount for how much your debt was. At one point I had to add extra in there.
Freedom hugely impacted my life. At that point in my life I had some income that substantially got lowered. That was when I thought I had to find some way to get control of these credit cards and get them paid off, and Freedom was there with an answer and helped me. I’m extremely grateful that I was able to figure that out and that they were able to help me. I've already sent some family members to Freedom. I let one of them know how awesome Freedom was. They absolutely are there to help you.

I pay $800 a month to Freedom, which is a lot of money. I don't know if this is really worth it in my position right now. I'm not really sure how this all works. When Freedom settles a debt, they don't really get back to me right away. Some things didn't even get charged-off or reduced. Their customer service is excellent though. I've been with the program for year and a half. Looking back, I probably would've looked at a different solution.

I had called American Debt Relief and they were so pushy until I just forgot about it. Then, National Debt Relief called me seven months after that. I'm satisfied with them. They have kept me abreast as much as possible because they wanna do online and I'm not too familiar with that. So every once in a while, I would call them. They settled three companies for me but they have some more to settle because my graduation date is 24. It has taken a lot of stress off from me from looking in the mail, opening all those bills and writing checks for them and trying to keep up. I'm 79. I'm writing and then my hand will slip and I’ll mess something up. So, it’s a blessing that I'm not writing those checks. Plus, I don't have all that high interest rate, which is a big help right there.

I have asked to take monies from checking acct. on first of month and again on the third (3rd) Wednesday of month. This is when my checks go into bank. I was charged $190.00 -NSF fees because the money was taken out on the 29th of month. I have a bare minimum in my checking acct the first and middle of month. PLEASE DO SOMETHING, I CAN'T AFFORD THESE CHARGES!!!

I'm 78 years old and I'm trying to get where I can retire in a couple of years. My goal was to get out of debt but the interest was just terrible. There was no way I could get them paid off. As it was, the money I paid in was just going for interest and the principal was not going down. Freedom Debt Relief has taken over three of my cards. They've dealt with them and got them reduced, and I'm paying them off. They've paid one off already. I keep up with it on the internet. I was pleased that I no longer got any calls from creditors. I recommend Freedom to anybody who's struggling with cards that charge such horrible high interest and wanting to get free of that where you can save a little money and try to live a little better. I'm very pleased with Freedom and hopefully, in a couple of years, I'll have them all paid off.
