Great service. The only problem is I wish there would be faster communication with my creditors to stop the phone calls. Aside from that, I think this is a great program. I am so looking forward to the future without using credit cards.

My wife and I after swimming in credit card debt for years. Found we were paying more to our credit card than our house and car combined. FDR offered us a plan to relieve that debt in 3years. It works.

Updated on 05/18/2020: We were in debt. Now we are working our way out of it. It is a slow process, but it is and it will happen. And if this happens again we know where to go for help. Updated on 05/19/2021: I called to update bank information for my automatic deposit and the customer service rep was very patient and polite. I’ve had nothing but positive transactions with Freedom Debt Relief since I signed up in 2018! I would definitely recommend them!

I had to call several times with requests regarding a negotiated settlement. I was told that I could not speak with the negotiator, I was wasting my time even asking the questions because the creditor would not be responsive. I let reminded them that I had another creditor that I owed $15k, they mucked that negotiation up, I took it out of my program and settled it on my own for $3,000. Not sure why I'm wasting my time, paying them and still having to do their job.

Actually, I do not know what to expect from Freedom Debt Relief, but they're helpful to explain to me the pros and cons of having my debts settle. My hope though that I would be debts free in few years time.

I called concerning a letter I received from one of my debts. They were able to answer the question and was told to also send the letter so it would be kept in my file. I was also told just to send any letter I receive from any of my creditors.

This is a nail-biting experience in the beginning. The process wasn't quite what I expected. I'm getting used to the letters and calls from creditors, and what I have to do with them. Still scary at this point, but I'm hoping things will close up soon. I just keep paying my bi-monthly payments, and waiting for the next text to say a loan has been negotiated. So far, the process has been decent.

At first it seems that nothing is being done. Once your deposit balance is high enough the offers start coming in. The NLLG coverage is definitively worth it since not all banks like to work with consolidation services. It costs a bit more but it is worth the peace of mind. But watch out for rules in your state/county for court costs which are not paid by the company.

I am glad I was able to get into this program to help me consolidate my bills, but not too happy when it came time to do my taxes. I received 1099 from creditors that were paid off and didn't realize that I would be taxed on the dollar amount that didn't get paid through your program. This addition of money lowered my refund. That wasn't good.

Freedom Debt Relief has been just as advertised. They have helped us pay off some of our creditors with up to a 60% reduction in the amount we owed. It does take time so don't get discouraged. But once you start seeing the agreements come in, you feel a sense of relief. I recommend Freedom Debt Relief to anyone who is struggling to make payments on credit cards.

I joined Freedom Debt Relief way back in 2016 with the impression I would get my debt situation under control. I had a situation I ran into during the hurricane last year and was stuck in another state for 2 weeks, making no money. So I reached out to Freedom Debt Relief. Told them I needed that months payment paused and I also reached out to the creditor in charge of my settlement at Navy Federal. He granted me approval to miss that month's payment and it wouldn’t jeopardize our agreement.
I called freedom debt relief, gave them his contact info, explained everything to them & it would just extend it out a month. They documented everything on my account and assured me it would be handled. Well, freedom debt relief lied, it wasn’t handled. They cost me my largest settlement. When I contacted the gentleman in charge of my account & settlement at Navy Federal he stated no one reached out to him from freedom debt relief and they actually let it lapse more than 2 payments. I was more than halfway done with my payments and now all of my accounts are very small payments being made monthly, only $240 combined. And progress is not being made!
I’ve paid over $15,000 dollars into this account since 2016 have a balance of $600 something and only 3 very small cards have been paid off totally approximately 3k dollars. So my concern is where is that other $13,000 dollars gone to???? Fees? I feel like I could’ve settled this on my own and been done with it at this point and what I’ve paid into this and now the new completion date is 2023???? This is absurd and I feel like it’s a horrible way to steal people’s money who are struggling in debt and trying to repair their credit. I would never recommend this company to anyone. Do research, figure out how to contact these companies and negotiate the settlements yourself!!!!

When I first started I was told they could “most likely” cut all my balances in half if not more... That is no longer the case. I paid for legal coverage because the person setting my account up highly recommended it and when it came time for me to be represented they didn't put up a fight but instead accepted the full amount the creditor was asking for - PLUS I had to pay for their legal fees. Also, I don't have an advisor to talk to on a personable basis about my account but instead have to call a FDR hotline and talk to someone different everytime. It took 3 calls on 3 different days to change my drafting bank account - causing me to overdraft twice from old accounts. Overall just pathetic systems and will absolutely not recommend to anyone I know, I would actually strongly advise against using FDR.

At this time debt got a little out of control. Finding Freedom Debt Relief was a blessing. We just found out that my husband has kidney problems and have to do a lot of doctoring. Since I submitted my debts to FDR they have been able to negotiate reasonable amounts for 3 debts, one of which was quickly closed and two have completed negotiations with only one left to begin negotiations. They have kept me informed at each stage. I have not worried since the beginning of my dealings with FDR. I look forward to the completion of my debt resolution.

I have heard so much negativity towards what companies like freedom debt does. But I have to say Freedom Debt has been a life savior and they do what they say they will. Customer service is good to an extent. I have had issues where I have been told to call the credit card companies, to get this info or that when it was told that that wasn't a problem they got it and can take care of it. That is about the only thing I can say is not good. The rest I really appreciate the help and all the negotiations. Freedom Debt Relief's fees are a lot cheaper. Also, other companies normally just let the money sit there and build up and not pay towards the credit cards. I have seven credit cards. They have settled two, and they are paying on three others. I know it's this whole process, but I wished it was a little faster. I also wished I could put more money into it. But, for the most part, I've been very pleased, and they've always been nice and helpful when I call. The consultant has been nice and kind. She just put everything upfront on how it was going to work and what they do. There had been times I haven't been able to pay the full amount because I've had excessive medical bills. And I've had them to reduce it so that I can try to take care of my medical bills, because I'm trying to prevent other things going into collections. They've been pretty good at working with me on my payment plan. I've recommended them more than once.

They are great. We have settled several accounts. The only bad part is that our credit score is pretty bad, because of the late payments. We have a farm and have a hard time getting our repairs done without credit. But we know there will be a light in the tunnel.

I'm not sure yet as my bank keeps paying them till I go and tell them that the card or company was one of the ones they were not suppose to pay. I have had to go three times to my statement then call the bank and stop the payment. I missed the Citibank one and it got paid by the bank. I guess I thought it was your purpose to watch and take care of the payment once I let the bank know which ones to stop. Guess I was wrong and I have to do it all. So I can't really rate my experience at this time as it isn't very good.

It's amazing how they can negotiate on your behalf, and have your debt settled, sometimes at 1/2 off! Your credit score initially takes a big drop, but it does gradually come back. Your payments, and time period are less. You pay the same, fixed amount each month into a dedicated account.

So far hasn't really helped. Main reason I got into program was to settle my biggest credit card balance. Wasn't settled for less. In fact it got settled for more than it was when I put in program. My credit score tanked and now my wife's is. So far not really satisfied.

We were unable to negotiate down 2 of our debts because we're unable to pay more than what we're paying at the moment, but overall, I'm pleased with the way things are going. They have saved us several thousand dollars so far which is a huge help.

FDR's attention to detail is poor as evidenced by their responses to e-mails. Phone reps returned requested calls although had no clue how to resolve the issues. Poor attention to detail caused NLLG to decline handling a court summons because the FDR TEAM failed to respond within the 3 day window... all because they failed to recognize the appropriate account. I had to resolve the matter myself... I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND FDR to anyone.

Amazing customer service and fantastic friendly staff! I see negative reviews about how FDR has fees and it will affect your credit score. First off your credit is already taking a negative hit if your credit cards are maxed out. The goal is debt free! Keep that in mind. Without FDR I would still be making the minimum payments on $82,000 in debt. With FDR I have settled my last debt and I just called FDR customer service yesterday to ask questions about my graduation plan. I highly recommend FDR and remember the goal is debt free! I enrolled into the Freedom Debt Relief program to eliminate my debt without filing for bankruptcy. I made 4 payments into my dashboard account totaling $2,048.00 and they only settled one debt with one creditor for $50.00 for 18 months, however they took a fee for $829.00. My initial conversation with a representative I was told the company only deduct fees after all debts are settled, however it seems like most of your money is being paid to them. I would advise everyone not to participate in any programs with them and if there are any pending class action suits against them please try to contact others like myself. They've already settled several lawsuits for Hundreds of Thousands of dollars.

I seriously don't understand how I just got started with my program and I'm already having problems with this company. I've been trying to reach them and always get put on hold, my online account says that I'm negative 33 dollars when I have already given them 228 dollars but don't see any deposits. Been trying to enter the correct credit card account number and it tells me its wrong...How can be wrong if I have it in front of me.

I believe it is entirely too soon to be asked to write a review. It has been barely a month since signing on and therefore what can be accomplished in that short of time. It would be wonderful but unrealistic. The dashboard has been asking for an update on an account for about two weeks now. I've tried to update via the dashboard and have called FDR twice. Oh, yes it has been corrected according to the reps, but not according to the red alert on the dashboard website. Hummmm.

Called and emailed information about a summons I received but was told I had to resolve the summons I received on my own. Because I pay for services, I thought Freedom Dept services would be able to help. I misplaced the paperwork but when I found it it was passed the deadline. The lawyers said they could only help if it was 48 hours after receiving the summons that they could help me.

I started with this program 10 months ago and in 10 months they have only paid off one account. I was struggling with payments on my accounts when I started the program but at least they were not in default. Now they are all in default and I am worse off than when I started, so I ended the program because I felt dissatisfied with the results. When I called to end program they told me they would take their fees and send me a refund of the balance. After not hearing from them I inquired again about my refund and at this time they told me there is no refund after they took their fees.
So I paid in over 5,000 dollars. They settled one account for 2,000 and took the rest for fees so they charged me more than 50% of the money I put into the account for fees. I am very disappointed and very dissatisfied with the outcome and wish I had never enrolled in this program. At least then my bills would not be in default and I would not be out over 3,000 dollars for nothing. I could have paid off one of my cards with that money.

Since My wife and I have started with FDR they have been great and non judgemental. They have been extremely helpful and polite. They have work with us and have made numerous suggestions on how to properly handle debt callers. Since we have been with FDR we settled numerous credit card accounts for half or less than owed. Updated on 03/11/2021: FDR has proven to be a reliable and excellent source to resolve customers' financial hardships. They approached me in 2018 and I started availing their services. Your debt keeps going up. They don't settle your debt for what you enroll. They lie and give you a settlement number and do the opposite, then tell you, "it's in the paperwork, you should've read it." If you do the math the amount of months comes out way more than what they say. I enrolled 25000. They told me 12 to 13000 to settle lies!!!! And it's all included. No, it's not. They will say anything to enroll you. My advice don't let them negotiate and make money off you. You can call your creditor and do it yourself. Stay away from FDR. They were investigated and had to pay back money for hidden charges. Look it up on Google.

It is still early into my program however, within a month I had my first settlement which brought great relief. The process went very smoothly... MY only complaint which I was to expect is the constant calling of creditors. I did purchase a firewall blocker which only allows numbers of people I know. I received a letter threatening collection agency action. I called FDR to see how I should respond. I was told to email a copy of the letter and to do nothing else. I have only gotten good advice so I complied.

I have been offered and decline the same Nordstrom offer four times. I got a better offer myself before I started this and did not owe any fees. I just want my Chase account settled. I really feel you are not doing the best for us and are just looking to grind out your fees as soon as enough money is in an account without really working anything so not happy.

Wasn’t expecting CitiBank card to go to collections so not very happy. The customer service told me it was my responsibility to contact collections/Bank to try and take it off my credit score. I thought the idea of going through Freedom was for you to take care of these situations.

Every time I call customer service, I am applauded on how great I am doing so far. I started in November 2018 with 6 creditors, and now it is August 2019, and 3 have been resolved so far. Any question that I have in explained in detail. I plan to increase my monthly amount starting in October to expedite my resolutions with these accounts. I really like the Client Dashboard. I have been with Freedom Financial for almost 5 years. Most of their customer service reps are incompetent and are mean. If you dont agree to settlements, they threaten to liquidate your account or legal action.

Someone told me that Freedom Debt Relief is serious in what they are doing, and so I started using them. I was looking for some help because I cannot pay almost $400 a month in student loans because it is too high for me, and I'm halfway through it. I continue to make my payment to Freedom Debt Relief, and for the past year, I’m satisfied. I would recommend it. They helped me very much in getting all my credit cards taken care of. I received a letter from Bank of America saying that the last credit card was settled, and everything seems fine. I'm very satisfied as well because the group of lawyers sent me an email saying I don't need them anymore. So, I don't have to pay the little amount monthly to them. Everything is according to plan. They did a very good job.

Not what I expected. Settlements made have been higher than expected but what has really made me second guess my decision to enroll with FDR are all the fees. Their settlement fee is more than I thought. Then for each payment made to creditors there is a $10 fee. I had a recent settlement that they agreed to 36 payments. That's $360 in "check fees".
My account when I enrolled was $4200. After late fees, FDR fees and fees from my dedicated account to pay creditors I ended up paying $3800. I only saved $400! Another settlement after fees I saved like $36!?! Also according to a rep I chatted with the other day certain creditors won't settle with FDR. They will sue you and you'll be stuck with court fees and still have to work out a settlement in court. While my monthly deposits to FDR are less than what I was paying each creditor each month I'm not 100% sure this was the best option for me but I've got 4 more years until "graduation" from the program. Hopefully in the end I'll see the benefits however for the time being I'm not very happy.

I keep paying. My credit score going down. It's not a trusted company. I'm very upset. They keep adding year in my account. They want to suck up the money out of you. I make a big mistake so horrible experience. I wish people go and check for another option.

Depending upon the condition of your credit report at the time you enroll, a debt settlement plan like ours could have a negative effect on your credit report and credit score. I am happy that I was able with the help of FDR to accomplish my goals and reduce my debt, but I wasn’t expecting a drop in my score that effected my other cards and closed them. If I knew from the beginning I would have discussed all of my options. Also, because of this problem with the low score I was kind of forced to participate in another loan option to help me overcome my problem with time. At the end of the day it is not an easy decision.

FDR has been very good about answering questions for us. The only negative so far is that when we upload important documents to the client dashboard, we have to wait 48 hours to get confirmation that they received the documents.

I had credit card debt, and Freedom Debt Relief provided consolidation for it. It has been a good experience and I'm done with the payment. The reps I dealt with were all good. They answered my questions and provided me what I needed. Their payment plan was fine. It was difficult to keep their drafts coming out, but other than that, it wasn’t long-term. It was just to get out of debt. Working with this company relieves the stress of having a lot of debt.

I can't believe it. I have been enrolled for just a little over 6 months now and the total number of my enrolled debtors has been literally cut in half. Due to a major health issue, I fell behind in my bills and FDR was able to help me get my 5 major areas cut down so as I could get out from under the massive debt. Updated on 5/19/2020: Wonderful customer service. Very knowledgeable. Staff is considerate to your situation and wants to help you resolve your debt. They constantly keep you informed of the process and paying debtors. Would highly recommend them. Online services are wonderful. I really didn't understand the loan process. I was thinking that with the loan amount that I was approved for that with that my creditors will be paid and I will pay back the loan monthly. I'm not really understanding the complete process.
We're sorry for any confusion caused on our end, Mr. Barnes. Our program is not a loan program. We negotiate with your creditors to settle the balance for less than what is owed. The scheduled deposits you're making are going into a dedicated account. These same funds are then used to make payments to the creditors once a settlement is in place. I just started the program but no payments to my credit cards have been made so far. I have to wait and see how things go for now. Only problem I have is when adding a card to my program they seem to miss one. The same one I’ve been try to add twice. Kinda weird but other than that I’m happy.

The first few months of this program are very stressful. I was served by sheriff only 2 months into my program. Fortunately, I did pay for the legal assistance through Freedom Debt Relief. A local attorney call me and took over everything and within 10 days had my debt settled with the creditor that was suing me for judgment. Now I feel good about the program. I didn't know whether I could trust them or not in the beginning. The Freedom Debt Relief has shown to be very trustworthy and providing assistance just as they promised.

Updated on 11/26/2020: My husband signed up for the program and he passed away in June. I've been married to the man for 46 years. Right now, I've been trying to get used to things, paying the bills and doing everything on my own. I like the program and I'll just change everything over. I'm all new to this stuff and Freedom Debt Relief has been really good. They understand my problems and they worked with me, so that was great.

I am worried that in case I'd lose my job I wouldn't be able to continue with this program. The rep. Freedom Debt Relief seemed easy to work with. They consolidated everything, and got stuff settled at a discounted rate. If I have any questions and concerns, I contacted Freedom Debt Relief through email and they got back to me in 24 to 48 hours. It was all done through email. It would've been a better if they would've disclosed that they weren't gonna help rebuild my credit. It would've been nice to know, so I would've went with somebody else. Also, they sat on a couple of my debts for over a year, which was kind of bad. But in the end, they got rid of all my credit card debt.

Great customer service. Lady helped me out great. Fixed my problem. I had a problem with the new supplemental payment, lady took good care of it. On 22 June 2019 someone there was supposed to add 115.00 to my supplemental account but they failed to do it. She fixed that so they could start taking out 619.00 instead of 501.00, thanks.

Updated on 06/28/2022: The main result for me from using Freedom Debt Relief is the daily stress level dropping to zero. Right off the bat when I started this program I felt a huge weight lift from my shoulders. It was a big win for my wife and I and we could concentrate on our goals we wanted to accomplish as a married couple. The debt we accumulated snuck up on us gradually until one day we realized we were in trouble. Our representative who guided us through the beginning of the program was so understanding and friendly it was almost to good to be true. It's been about 3 years or so and out of 6 credit cards, we're about 2/3 of the way through completion of our goal. It was so easy I can't believe more families don't take advantage of this opportunity to eliminate paying interest the rest of their lives. Thank you FDR. You've been a Godsend and I'll always remember the way you helped us solve our debt problem.
Original Review: It was an exciting opportunity to get rid of nagging payments that never seemed to go down because of interest. After a couple of months the threatening phone calls and letters started. A couple of more months later they intensified. It started getting scary. I contacted my Representative Beau and shared my concern. After a calm reassurance by him I came away with a sense of relief knowing I made the right choice in Freedom Debt Relief to handle this seemingly never ending Merry go round of minimum payments keeping my wife and I from paying the balances off of our credit cards. I most certainly recommend FDR to anyone who has nagging credit card balances that never seemed to get lower.

My credit could of been done by myself. You drag your feet on doing your job. Wouldn't recommend you to anybody. I've tried to call Mike 4-5 times, never call back. You keep taking my amount each month. You drag out everything from what I was told.
