I just signed up for debt relief. My first payment is due is in February. I’m hoping that I can get all my debt cleared up within the time frame agreed. I was referring to by a friend and she is very pleased with Freedom. Thank you Freedom for making my life so much easier.

So far so good, the only annoying part for me is talking to the creditors and keeping them at bay until an agreement can be reached with them. FDR STAFF HAS BEEN PROFESSIONAL AND UNDERSTANDING WITH ME. I would gladly recommend them to anyone seeking financial relief from debt.

When I started out with FDR I told them I'm on a fixed income and what my living expenses were. They still insisted on an amount that made me not be able to eat. And they do not report to credit bureaus either so I'm paying a lot of money, way more than I can afford, to settle debts, to a company that really doesn't seem to care about clients. If they did, they would report monthly payments to credit bureaus. They do things on their own time. There is zero communication unless I call them. I'm going to ride it out because I'm already deep into their program. I would not recommend anyone else do it though. There must be a better option.

FDR has taken more than 1/2 the money I've paid in (I believe) to line their own pockets versus paying off my bills. I pay almost $500 per month, but you give my largest creditor $50 a month. You all played on the emotions of a stressed individual, whose bills were paid on time and over the minimum each month, and made it sound good to have "a break". Ran my credit into the ground have only settled 2 small debts. I hate I was so stupid and weak to have fallen for the biggest scam of PAYING SOMEONE TO PAY MY BILLS!!!

Updated on 07/08/2025: Easiest people that I have ever been dealing with on any program. Has empathy for my problem health hardship of my wife's illness of 17 months. Will recommend their company to any friends that might be in the same predicament that I have encountered. They have resolved 2 credit card debts and have contacted one other large one that they are processing now.

Freedom Debt is ONLY concerned with the amount of money they will collect from you. The ONLY time you will ever hear from them is when a settlement is reached and they want to collect their fees, aside you will only get an email or two. But when a settlement is reached, you should expect calls all day and texts until they get their money. Then half of what you are paying them will go to the fees with little to your creditors. Take a long look before you do this program.

Salespeople, not actually here to help. Almost threatening if you try to leave the program even though the biweekly payment is enough that you can’t afford your actual bills. Very poor customer service. I would recommend definitely working on your debts without their “help”. I’m as dissatisfied as I possibly could be. A so called 2 year program that will tank your credit score for 10 years.

The reason that I joined this program was to help settle my account with One Main and it was deemed urgent. Now as a result I was notified of a possible lawsuit. As long as I have been with this program some form of communication should have sent regarding program enrollment. Being sued after 6 months or more with the program defeats the purpose. It should not have come to this. I am not pleased at all! I called and spoke to someone and submitted notice from the attorneys months ago. Why hasn’t anyone contacted them?

FDR is an amazing to deal with. I have had no issues or worries. The client dashboard is so simple to use. The only complaint I have is that all their sister companies constantly let you down and waste your time. If you sign up with FDR stay with FDR. They’re the real deal.

Updated on 03/27/2025: They got a settlement within a couple of months. As long as you keep up with your payments, they will do the work to help you settle your debts. You have to have perseverance and patience. I never thought I would find help like this with my debt. It has helped me discipline myself as far as money is concerned. I would recommend them.

I like how I was constantly kept updated on every transaction on my account. It was easy to accept an offer without making a phone call. I just had to response to a text. If anything else came up against me, I got notification to see about adding it if I wish to for them to settle. It's been a great process and very money-saving.

I have been charged too many fees. I was told by customer service that my fee would be prorated and it was not. I was negative $30 before my first payment which should have been when my program started. Customer service was not helpful. This is why I’m not happy with the service so far.

I have sent an email with same question 3 times and I have not been answered yet. I need to know what happened to the money we paid to JPMCB early in this program. We had a glitch in our deposit and the 4th and final payment wasn't made and all that money was lost. I need to understand what happened to the money and recover it to pay them off.

Freedom Debt Relief has been nothing but awesome! The hardest part is realizing that you are not making any progress paying your cards minimum only payment. FDR fights for you to get that debt reduced to almost half and we will be graduating the program in less than 2 years. So glad we joined!

You guys are killing me with the settlement fees, I went 4 months without a settlement… But you sure did take your settlement fees and leave exactly 9.95 for your maintenance fee, just before my next deposit… Then you guys screw me and overdraw my account and cause a settled account to go into default… It’s been 5 months and you guys have done nothing to fix it after multiple calls and complaints. That is money and settlement fees lost that I show no efforts on your part to repair. I will never recommend this service to anyone. I am in too far to quit now… DO BETTER!!!!

Our settlement fee is charged once a settlement is obtained and can be scheduled to be paid in full or broken down into a payment schedule, we determine this based on your draft, current settlements, and other fees associated with your program. Settlement fees are not charged again when we renegotiate an account and when we renegotiate an account we negotiate the new balance, after the creditor applies the payments made per the settlement. Freedom Debt Relief laid everything out clearly, which differentiated them from other companies. My experience with their customer service has been great, and they worked with me to create a flexible payment plan that suited my needs. While it's been a process with ups and downs, I've come to understand it, having seen friends go through similar situations. I have found FDR to be a class act. They have been in our corner consistently. We hit a rough spot financially and had issues making some payments. They worked with us helping us through all the while not losing our progress we made in the program. They supported us caring about us so we could remain in the program but keep our heads above water. I believe we will successfully complete our FDR program and be debt free. I approached Freedom Debt Relief for assistance in managing my financial concerns, as they were able to almost pay off all my bills.
During my time with FDR, I interacted with their consultants a couple of times, to reset my payment dates due to personal circumstances. FDR itself couldn't assist with the date changes, so I contacted the company handling the payments, and they cooperated.
Their service has alleviated some of my stress, making life a bit easier. Overall, I rate my experience with FDR as a 5.

The first few debts had settlements pretty quickly. I was a little taken aback by the first charge for settlement, but I am trusting the process and I'm happy with the progress thus far. The customer service reps are good and provide comfort when you feel panicked and unsure about the process.

Covid and other factors involved caused me to have a big debt with credit card companies. I researched and contacted Freedom Debt Relief. The process was easy and they took charge of everything and all I had to do was make an affordable monthly payment. Not happy that some accounts are listed that I did not authorize and have requested they be removed! When I spoke to someone on the phone, that person could not provide a response for the lack of accuracy related to my account. My money is deducted every month and still not happy with progress!!

I have researched about the debt consolidation program for my credit card debts. Each companies I spoke with are offering different options and rate. I called this company to see if they offer anything different for me to consider. This guy: Tony ** called me and he is extremely rude. I asked him, "If I pay off earlier, do I save money." He kept avoiding answer my question directly and said, "I don't think you understand." I asked him to explain the program in detail. He got annoyed and said, "I already did." I told him that I am going to call back and speak to someone else. I called again, it keeps going to voicemail and no one pick up. I think this company does not want anyone's business. It is a big decision to make for getting your credit impact for consolidating debts.
I don't know why this guy can't be patient to explain the program in detail. Because I don't believe I will save money if pay off early because they charge 24% out front of the debt amount. From few companies I spoke to, I will recommend Accredited Debt Relief. The lady I spoke with is very professional and explain in detail how program works. Plus they don't charge large percentage out front, instead they charge fee yearly. So I can see if I pay off early then I save money. That might be why Accredited Debt Relief have earned top rating from research I have done. Don't waste your time on calling Freedom Debt Relief.

You say in the beginning, "Don’t worry about creditors. We have a legal team." But they don’t do anything for you so now I have a lien on my property. I discovered Freedom Debt Relief through an ad on Facebook, and they seemed like the best fit for me. The enrollment process was straightforward, and the representative I spoke with was very friendly. Throughout the program, my experience has been positive. Whenever I've had questions and needed to call, they've always been responsive. Everything they promised, they've delivered.
The app they provide is user-friendly and intuitive. When I signed up, everything was explained, and it’s easy to track my progress. The program has significantly reduced my stress, as I now only pay them instead of worrying about multiple monthly payments. Turning everything over to Freedom has eased my burden.
I would definitely recommend this program to others, as it has given me a sense of freedom by helping manage my debt, allowing me to work towards getting my credit cards paid off and life back on track. A particularly enlightening moment for me was realizing how deep in debt my husband and I were due to unforeseen circumstances, which forced us to max out our credit cards. We were having issues getting the bills paid and paying the minimum payments was not gonna get us anywhere. The representative, Brian, was very understanding and spent almost an hour listening to my situation. He made me feel I was not a bad person for getting myself in the situation that I was.
Overall, I have nothing but praise for their services, rating them 5 out of 5 in every aspect, from customer service to their app and website usability.

Avoid Freedom Debt Relief – A Costly and Stressful Mistake. I deeply regret ever trusting Freedom Debt Relief (FDR). Their service is designed to take advantage of people facing financial hardship, and they make money at your expense while providing little value. Here’s my experience to warn others:
Incompetent and Unresponsive: FDR repeatedly failed to answer my questions clearly. Every interaction felt like they were passing the buck, leaving me confused and frustrated.
Outrageous Commission Fees: If FDR manages to negotiate a settlement, they charge a massive commission. For example, if you owe $10,000 and they negotiate it down to $8,000, they take the $2,000 difference as their fee! This means you still pay the full original amount, but instead of it all going to your creditor, FDR pockets a significant chunk.
Neglect Leads to Court Cases: If they can’t negotiate a deal, they simply wait—allowing your accounts to spiral out of control. That’s how my Discover account ended up in court. FDR’s negligence caused unnecessary legal action and stress.
Exploits Vulnerable People: This service preys on those in hardship, promising relief but delivering more headaches. It’s a scam for anyone hoping to get out of debt. They used my difficult situation to profit while adding more stress to my life.
Deceptive Practices: Even when I deposited more than the full amount of my debt, FDR refused to pay it off completely. Instead, they tried to negotiate a small discount to claim their commission. This delay allowed the creditor to escalate the case, and I was sued by a collector.
Third-Party Legal Hassles: When things went south, FDR passed my case to a third-party law firm. Even then, they still expected to take their cut. Instead of helping, they turned a straightforward resolution into a drawn-out nightmare.
Final Advice: Save yourself the time, money, and stress—deal with your creditors directly. Negotiate payment plans or settlements yourself. You’ll save thousands in commissions and avoid the chaos that FDR brings into the process.
I made the mistake of trusting this service, but I hope this review helps others avoid the same costly error. NEVER use Freedom Debt Relief!

What would Make this review 5 stars? It would be for Freedom Debt Relief to show or list all accounts for enrolled and where remaining debt is but not shown. I have sent on 3 different occasions copies of creditors latest summaries which includes account numbers and debt amounts. I have followed up with phone calls which verified you had the supplied information however had not been updated yet. We need to be on the same page starting from day one and receiving 5 stars. The only thing that has been updated is the amount my monthly payments are.

Updated on 03/25/2025: I have replied to emails I've have received from support on several occasions and I've have yet to receive a response. Lengthy emails asking about issues but to no avail. I have discussed that issue with someone on the phone and no one has responded to any of my emails. I just don't understand why someone could not send me a response, even if it stated we have received your email and someone would be getting back with you in 24-48 hours

Why is that??? My #**. I would like to think that a client of his reaching out to speak to him for three weeks would be able to get a return call. Actually cost me almost $500 to enroll this specific debt. Not only did the debt increase because I stopped making payments to the card. The debt was reduced by $41 and then I was charged $515 in fees. When I called customer service she kept insisting that they reduced it by the $41 failing to recognize that the fees far exceeded the savings. What a joke.

Good morning! As of 12/28/24 no!! I’m not happy with your company!! Why!! I really don’t understand what’s going in. I choose your company because of BBB. I work at Walmart and several of the people have National Debt and they have no no problems. I try sending my bills to you all. It didn’t go and I sent Emma a copy of why it didn’t go. So I ask for the address so I can mail them! Again nothing!! I talk to Jessica and ask if after you take money out of my account do I still make payments. Her answer was no!! So why!! Called for help because a law group contacted me to get the information they needed to help not put me in another garnishment and the help was not given as needed - cried and just feel lost. Wow, this all makes me very nervous. The process was fairly easy. The representative was super understanding and helpful through the process. I’m just now receiving one settlement and I’m so grateful. While being over burden with that seems extremely irresponsible, I am glad there is some sort of assistance out there when the credit card companies bounce interest rates so high.

So far everything has been pretty easy and they have been very helpful but we will see how it goes when the creditors start calling. I’m not very good with confrontation and I have always paid my bills on time so it’s going to be interesting to see how that goes, but it will be very helpful in the long run.

I canceled this process and you people still submitted to my bank account. My bank stopped the payment. I left a message for Ton who did not get back to me, send emails no response. Yep! You guessed it. I am not happy with being ignored. I changed my mind, do not want your service. I went ahead and made my payments to my credit cards.

I rate them highly, but probably get things more accomplished if I wasn't supporting 2 others. Which makes it harder to maintain the proper deposits required to everyone's satisfaction, but such is life. I have had to cancel some of the payments and or change the amounts required. I’m happy with the resolution, but very unhappy that it’s taking so long to settled my debts and the total amounts of the debts are increasing while we wait for the settlements. After almost a year, only 1/2 of my debts are settled. I’m paying so much in fees for little resolution.

Only wish the interest rates were lower, but it’s doable nonetheless. Very poor amount of write off Discover card. Talk a big talk but did not even get 50% off. I could probably got 100% off by myself. You talk a big talk but not impressed. You never mentioned a percentage additional charge just the monthly payment. Also two of the accounts were zero interest. Also asked to be called on your settlement form and never got one. I guess you got me and that is the end of any personal contact, just electronic and do not have time-got my money and goodbye from you.

Our advisor, Kevin, has been amazing in terms of communicating what is supposed to happen and how. The three stars are entirely because of his support. Everything at the beginning sounds so good and start working together, then after receiving the bank account number they go rouge. I could not get assistance on the phone, I had and account that needed added and no one would help me. It got to the point I just had to stop.

I realize it takes time to set up settlement negotiations. But there hasn’t been any information provided to me about any negotiations. I’m getting emails and calls concerning payments on these accounts. I was told not to make any payments on these accounts because they were being negotiated. When will I be notified of any progress…. getting a bit nervous about this choice of handling these debts.

Great company! Freedom Debt Relief has been consistently easy to work with throughout the entire time since day one. They claim to be settling my debt but in over two years with the the only debt settled is one I pulled from them and did myself. They love to pat themselves on the back talking about reducing a 6k debt to 2.7k but they fail to mention they then charge 1.8-2k for their service per debt meaning the actual savings to the consumer are wildly over stated 'cause they don't include their fees as part of the price the consumer has to pay.

I must say that I was a little hesitate because I thought it was a scam but so far everything seems legit. It seems like a very simple process of getting my debt paid off quicker due to my hardship I'm facing. The only thing I don't like is that my credit score will go down since I'm not making payments directly but I'm being told it will go back up. The counselor I worked with was very friendly and professional.

This program really saved my family. We had a huge amount of debt and no way out until I tried Freedom. I would have took over 40 years to get out but with freedom help and understanding that I need to change my spending. I have now with freedom have all my creditors debt negotiated and moving towards being debt-free in the next 16 months or less. If you have no other way out and have tried everything else Freedom is the way to go.

$12k paid off in 3 yrs! Robbing Peter to pay Paul with credit cards just not an option. I had a string of bad luck with moving, job changes, and sick dogs, etc. I was paid up but on bills but no money left over to do basic things. Way less stress in my life!

The people I speak with in customer care are very courteous. However, the program itself is terribly slow. Based on the pitch I was given when signing up, I expected you to do much better than what I have experienced. I was given a number to pay each month and was told that's what was needed to get the job done. I thought you would be working on all accounts at the same time. Not so. One client for 9 months then maybe one more will be added and then another 6 months later or so. I was not told that some creditors would not be contacted by you for 5 or 6 years!!! They will be written off by then anyway. Meanwhile, creditors are losing it and I am in a program that was supposed to alleviate these issues. Then come the pitches from FDR to ADD MORE MONEY to move the FDR program along faster. My credit is tanked anyway so what is the benefit to me? If I had that kind of money I would not have needed debt consolidation.
Then comes the LOAN COMPANY phone call to "graciously give me a loan" to pay off my debt faster "by borrowing MORE than what I actually owe" so I will end up with a BIGGER PAYMENT for a LONGER PERIOD OF TIME but I will only be in debt to "one creditor", not 8 or 9. I guess I was supposed to be elated with that idea. Not cool! And again I say, My credit is tanked anyway so what is the benefit to me? Less phone calls? I'm not paying more money for that. I fully expect FDR to do what was promised for the amount agreed upon when you signed me up. I have kept up my end of the bargain by paying what you asked me for every month, without fail and I have never been late. I expect you to do what you promised as well, without fail. If it takes 6-8 years to be debt free, so be it. By the time you get to my creditors, those accounts will have been written off anyway and my account should be closed early. Have a blessed day!

F.D.R. has been very good to deal with, they helped me out a lot. Each person I spoken with has treated me like family. They have lowered my debt and been very patient with me. I have had to skip a few payments and had to withdraw some money due to extreme emergency. They are also still willing to take on new debt. This was not explained to us at all the way things would be. We were extremely mislead and are now in more debt than ever. Oh and don’t forget all of the lawsuits and garnishments. Resolving accounts for less but since they tell you to stop paying your accounts you’re actually just settling what you already owed.

While the process is slow, the right things are happening to decrease my debt in a feasible and responsible way. I am happy on how my progress is advancing, however the reason I did this debt relief was to stop the credit cards calls, and then you start calling me everyday to get another loan to accelerate the process, was disappointed in getting more than 5 calls within 3 days…

I write emails with questions and never receive a response. No one told me about an increase in payments and it affects me when I’m on a very tight budget with a new apartment and all the bills that come with that. My health is not good which prevents me from working. I’m am already struggling with no way to help with my income!

Thought the fee for their services was a bit too much. Otherwise it would be a 5 star. But they were very nice and knowledgeable. They could see all my creditors with the balances so I didn’t have to really look anything up. They don’t help you just resolve your debt. They actually decrease the amount owed to each creditor!!

At this point, I have only made the initial payment and stated the debtors. There hasn't been much action but the initial set-up was easy. The people that I have dealt with have been very helpful and were very knowledgeable. They were all very friendly. I would recommend this company to anyone.

They helped me out of a bad situation. They walked me through everything I owed and who it was to. They helped me do the math and let me pick what I wanted to get my debts paid off. I didn't have to let all of my credit cards go in order for me to get out of debt. They made sure I understood everything before they let me sign the agreement. Definitely told my friends about it. Every time I try to load my dashboard it will not load and tells me to call a 1-800 number. It’s very frustrating. I have yet to see my dashboard And there doesn’t seem to be any follow up on the program. I signed up about a month ago and haven’t seen any progress yet.

I tried to call him several times, and the number he gave me goes automatically to voicemail Saying they are not available and to leave a voicemail. Could use more support having to deal with creditors. Very frustrating when they call and all they need to do is just give them the POA so I stop receiving calls. When there is only one of them calling I feel they should help deal with it. Bankruptcy may be a better option if your credit score is going to get ruined anyway.

Updated on 02/01/2025: FDR has settled with 2 of 3 of my creditors so far and it's been such a surprisingly easy process. The dashboard is extremely helpful and to the point. I recommend their services to everyone. You will not be disappointed or feel like you're wasting time. Settlements almost reach 50% which is awesome being that the accounts are not that old. Stop the high interests and get your debt settled, fast.
Original Review: My experience has been very pleasant and stress free. I received a settlement sooner than expected for a particular debtor and am super excited about the process ahead. You're told you get legal help so you contact legal about court papers to show up. They tell you don't go so I don't go. Now the court are in favor of the cc company. Now I lose more money. Besides that it's been great. I think they should have dealt with the 1 company I had 3 cards with before dealing with a company I had 2 cards with because I had to go to court for those.

I have had nothing but good experiences with Freedom. They have been very helpful and easy to work with. They update me every time they need to. They have also kept me in the loop when they get a settlement on anything. They have been easy to reach when I need them. I just wish the process was a little faster but I understand it takes time to settle on all the accounts

It’s so nice to make one payment and not worry about not having enough in my account. My payments are made and low, low interest rates or none at all. There should be companies to attempt to do mortgages.

My experience with FDR has been far from great…. I was told we would get my debt settled to half… It was not… When I. Originally signed up with Will he told me I was able to do a personal loan since he wasn’t able to see why it would be attached to anything… 3 months of not paying that loan I get a call from my bank saying that loan is connected to my auto loan as well as my horse trailer. They threatened to repossess both.. When I called to see what was wrong with this situation I hardly received any help. I was told “Oh sorry our bad. We should have never enrolled that debt….”
Meantime I have to come up with $700 to get my loan up to date. Then make me feel bad about having to do a withdrawal from my dedicated account. I don’t feel like I get help or even knowledge of what’s happening. The settlement I received I don’t know if I picked the right one or could have settled for a lower amount since there was no communication about that… I don’t feel as if you guys are on my side and would not recommend to anyone.

They kept their word when they said my first card would be settled by December. Customer service is excellent from beginning to end and your questions are always answered. I would recommend this company definitely. To know that my credit can be repaired and I am stress free means a lot and that is thanks to Freedom Debt Relief.

I love the program but when you call in to speak with a customer service representative. Need a little more training. They are too eager to get you off the phone instead of helping to resolve your problem. I also inquiry about someone I brought on as well. I was told that I would get $250 toward me my account. I have yet to see that. When I call about it I inform that I had to do leg work. I did the leg work when I ask the person to join. That is not get customer service. I have been in customer service for 20 plus years. Having good customer service when you go above and beyond your job but I guess we don't have those kind of people anymore.

Led me to believe they would contact creditors. Did not for 4 months. My credit hit rock bottom, and accounts closed. They only contact when making an arrangement. Didn't let other creditors know what was in the works. Was not told of these practices. Would not recommend this to anyone. I took my accounts back over myself. Am repairing my credit myself.

A coworker of mine recommended FDR. She had a situation a couple of years ago and she said it helped her a lot. My experience with them has been great, as well. The rep I worked with was helpful. He answered all the questions that I needed and was able to help me with what I needed. He was thorough and explained to me step-by-step how the procedure goes and the step-by-step what it was gonna take.
The quality of their service has been very good. Since I have access to my portal, I can see what's happening and what's the next step. It's very easy to use and very informative. I really like the website a lot. It helps whenever I have a question to see how the process is going. I'm very comfortable with it and everything is going good as of now for now. They have also been helping me in my circumstances and have been able to inform me and help me with anything if I need to change my payment day for a certain reason. They've been helpful in all circumstances.

Great so far. New client. Not long now when I’m almost debt free and able to enjoy the fruits of my labor. It has already taken a load off my mind that this will be taken care of. I pay my debts but things happen along the way and things get sidetracked and business goes on.

They have been helpful from start to finish. There are multiple ways of customer contact, but l prefer speaking directly to a live person, and this has been great.

I've just started and already I'm getting good results. I still have a way to go and hoping for more good results. I was very hesitant at first, but so far, I'm happy I took a chance. I would like to have gotten a letter or text or brochure explaining the process FDR uses to negotiate and resolve debt issues, along with a reminder about withdrawals from my bank. The whole project is hopeful and I hope to receive progress reports from time to time. I appreciate the care with which the initial offer was presented and particularly impressed when Cameo stayed on the phone with me after I fell. She stayed on the line until help was on the way.
