I feel I was misled in thinking that FDR would pay my debts with the $700+ a month that I'm paying you. I haven't received any settlement offer that was less than what the card company offered me to settle. I'm paying FDR and still having to pay the settlement. What am I paying you for?

I haven't been in the program but for about a year and a half. Just last week I resolved my first debt. Can't say too much as far as success but I am chipping away at the debt. And more importantly, not making more. Settlements are low and the fees are reasonable.

My program was 5 years long. They are slow in negotiating accounts so you have creditors nagging you for years. My last account took nearly 5 years before they started negotiating even though the whole account could be paid in its entirety with the money that was in my dedicated account. A good portion of the money they did negotiate on my behalf went to fees so I essentially paid probably 20% less than if I didn't use FDR.

I have been with this company for many years in hopes that I’d get help paying off 2 credit cards. Not only did they lower my debt by just a few dollars, they charged me 25% of my debt which means I ended up having to pay more than if I had just payed to the credit cards. Customer service is a joke. Each time I’ve called with questions regarding my account/payments, I was told something completely different each time down to amount I owed. These people are trying to charge hardworking people out of more money and in this economy it’s just not right.

A little over 25 years ago I worked with a debt management company and I negotiated settlements. Actually, I was very good at it and even set some records. But I don't hold a candle to the representatives at Freedom Debt Relief. They have turned negotiating settlements into an art form!

In 2018, I called Freedom Debt Relief to help with my debts because I owed $51,000. One of my debts was Discover Card and I owed them $26,000. My other 5 debts were $25,000. I had seen advertisements saying that if you owe over $10,000 in credit card debt, Freedom Debt Relief can help. I already had a great payment schedule with Discover and did not want to include them in the FDR negotiating since I already had 5 accounts with $25,000 due. But the Freedom Debt Relief representative said he could not help me unless I included the Discover account with the other 5 accounts. This turned out to be misinformation on FDR's side and it took me 2 extra years to pay off Discover and I spent an extra $5600 in Freedom Debt Relief fees trying to pay off Discover.... all because this FDR rep lied to me probably to make a higher commission on my account.

This debt relief company is the greatest.. They have helped me to see there is light at the end of credit card tunnel.. So glad I joined them for help.. Their staff is amazing.. So polite and helpful and I was drowning in debt.. Afraid to open my mail. Then received an ad on my phone for FDR and called right away.

So far so good. I am just beginning this route of debt ending so I'm not quite suited how I'll feel in a few months. But right now I golden. I'll be certainly willing to tell you when our if I'm unhappy about something. Or if I have questions I'll be sure to call and ask and get answers right away.

They take care of all your problems. Just hand it over to them. They will handle your debt. I had a lot of debt in the beginning. Didn’t know how I was gonna get out of it. I couldn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel until I found out about FDR!!! I see the light at the end of the tunnel.

It did help with my credit cards, but the only problem was that they tell you between 3- years max 4 years, my is taking 5 years. Don't know why. And when I checked my dashboard still showing accounts that need to pay off. Is seeing like only 4 credit cards are being paid. I don't really know this program works.

Freedom Debit Relief is proving to be the best course of action for our large problem. From the first point of contact, Michael ** who impressed me with his knowledge of what needed to be done, and getting our package together quickly, and the members of your customer service are so kind and Understanding making you feel less stupid when you have to ask for help.

FDR communication is terrible! Y'all expect people to approve settlements without enough information! Actually, I think y'all purposely withhold important information so that participants in the program will blindly approve them without asking question or looking for better negotiations. It's also crazy that y'all charge soooo much once an account is approved. I'm going to end up paying FDR more than if I had just kept the original balances owed prior to being settled by FDR. That is a huge amount in fees!

I thought I would have more money left from my check but I just paid my bills and I only have $10 left so it doesn’t look like this is really going to help me. I’m still using a credit card to pay for things which kind of defeats the purpose of.

Credit rating hasn't improved enough over almost 2 years. No verbal communication on your all end. Dashboard is a joke. Very seldom does it have updated information. And the website jumps around and goes on and off. I usually just end up leaving the Dashboard because it is no help.

I can honestly say that through one of the lowest, most depressing, and financially challenging times in my life, Freedom Debt Relief helped find a workable path out of it. I recommend to anyone having debt problems to give them a try. If nothing else the financial planning information at their disposal is useful for many of life's situations.

Freedom Debt was outstanding. Helped me every step of the way. Explained everything thoroughly and made sure I understood the process and what I was signing. I am overall satisfied with the program - huge help in reducing my debt!! It was challenging to pay / withdraw from Crossroads to pay my final credit card off. I understand it is procedure, but a little challenging. The other part is … all my debt has been settled and they keep withdrawing from my account to my depository account with them. I was able to place a skip withdrawal with them directly. But have to wait 30 days before refunded the overage. These are the reasons for the 4 star, but overall great program!

The people at Freedomdebtrelief.com were absolutely the best at helping me navigate my situation and getting the resolution I was needing. Every person I talked to was friendly and more than helpful. I would recommend these guys to anyone! You don't have to be scared of debt as long as you make good decisions and call them.

Settled in poor timing and order, didn't think about what accounts needed to be settled first, take their time so they can absorb as many fees as possible, which I should have considered before I signed. Buyer (literally) beware, think before you get talked into something you can really do on your own, with zero fees from places like this.

I can’t imagine where I would be without FDR. They handled any legal issues, summons by creditors. My debt was negotiated down tremendously. They were always so helpful & compassionate. This has been the best experience, helping me get back on track! From the beginning to helping consolidate, it has been with ease. The staff is extremely informative and easy to work with. I spent 2 hours on the phone with company to figure out why I received court summons on an account with in program. I was told to call back after a week to check for update on account. I received a email requesting more documents that I didn’t see but when I called back over a week later I was notified they needed documents on May 9 so why did I not receive any contact other than a email requesting documents. So after a hour and half on the phone they have documents they needed to move forward and now I have to wait up to 90 days before I know what is going on so they can research to summons. Meanwhile I have to wait and I was told to call back weekly and request an update on the account so another hour weekly if not more to just find out if I have a warrant for failure to appear.

They have been nothing short of helpful when I've needed. They follow up to make sure everything's working out, they're generally easy to reach and I've had even more complicated parts of this process explained very clearly. At the same time, when everything's good they let me be. No complaints.

I hope everything go well. And I will follow whatever you need. When I find out Freedom Debt Relief help a lot of people and I try to give myself a chance from my mistake. So from now on after my credit clear again. I would like to start over. And I will make it happen.

So far it's going well. Not comfortable with all the calls and emails I received from debt owners, but I was warned about what all had to take place and I'm going with the program process. I have experienced very quick and statisfied response for all my questions. I feel comfortable with the timeframe that my debit has been reduced and is processed to be eliminated. I was very concerned with legal notices, the issue was quickly resolved. I feel that any "issues" going forward will be resolved in a timely manner.

I had a settlement that I tried to approve many times. After giving almost $600 days before. As well as paying on it for years. You kept telling me that there wasn’t enough money. Also, I no longer own the property that this went to. I need for it to go away!

I know it's too soon as it's only been a couple weeks. I've only made 1 payment to FDR, but this is the 2nd time a review has been asked of me. Zero debt deals have been made. I really don't like this process of just letting due dates pass & dodging calls. Can't wait for things to start being resolved.

I have had to use this company twice sadly on my part but both times they have been great. I am thankful for all of their help. I highly recommend this company. Always helpful and supportive. My first settlement in the first few months. They have lawyers that do everything they can to keep you out of court also.

I am able to sleep at nights due to their help. Still have a way to go and I can't wait until it's over. Loss of job can really be a big set back. I wish I had started with them earlier but was afraid they weren't until my friend told me about them.

My name is Zaeer V. I enrolled in Freedom Debt Relief in mid 2024. I was a bit skeptical at first but the representative I spoke with over the phone was very easy to speak with and seemed really honest about the program so I took a chance. I've had no complaints so far, it has helped me out tremendously. I'm down to my last credit card in negotiations and should be all done and debt free within 1 year (mid 2026). Honestly the best decision I've made with my credit, you will take a hit at first but it will correct itself in time.

You are supposed to be helping your clients out of debt but yet your fees are astronomical. I would not of signed up for the program if I would of realized truly how your fees worked and cost. Your fees actually cost as much as the debt you settle for most of the time and then we get slammed at tax time. When I looked at the whole program again after I was in it, it was not what I thought and truly not helping me in the way I thought it would.

My money is missing. I spent hours on the phone with an associate doing the calculations After she stated that some money that I gave to the program is missing. I never received a follow up. I should sue. Also, I authorized a payment through text, received a confirmation message but apparently it never went through. Which caused me to lose out on settlements.

Freedom Debt Relief has been a lifesaver for me. I'm so happy I got into this program. Before getting into this program, I was so stressed with all my debt, going paycheck to paycheck, and getting nowhere with my debt. I can now rest assured that my debt is getting taken care of and I now only have to make just 1 payment vs multiple different ones. Thank you, Debt Relief.

I was told I will complete the program in 2 years, but now I'm being told it will be 4 years! I'm not getting any help on how to talk with my creditors. One creditor told me that they don't know who Freedom Debt Relief is. I have more stress now than I did before signing up with Freedom Debt Relief. I get no empathy from customer service when I tell him how I'm feeling. You've heard the expression "living the dream"...Well I'm living the nightmare.

This place has no humans and your bots are incredibly difficult to talk with. I can't wait to be done with your company. It's just awful. I wouldn't suggest it to my worse enemy. I have so many questions but am only referred to the dashboard which I find impossible to deal with.

I am very pleased with how they are acting fast on resolving my debts. Pick them to go through you will not be disappointed. They work with each one of my debtors and set up payments if they can not be paid in full. Very pleased and customer service is amazing.

I have money I got from my 401k and I would like to pay everything off and Graduate because in 2 months I won’t be able to afford my current 650 a month and I don’t understand why you just don’t pay my debts off all I once. I just deposit 6k to pay all my negotiated debt and you have done nothing. Very disappointing.

I feel as though the settlement fees that FDR pays themselves are ridiculously high. They also seem more focused on paying themselves BEFORE your debt is resolved. They make small multiple payments to your creditors while taking large sums for themselves. That seems backwards and counterproductive to me. And when you add in the settlement fees, you really aren't saving that much off of your original debt. You're better off taking the money that you pay them, putting it in a savings account and contacting your creditors directly and negotiating yourself. You'll save the fees that you pay them. And most likely if you are diligent about setting that money aside, you'll actually get out of debt even faster. The fees that they charge are way too high. I personally think they are taking advantage of people when people are struggling and feel like they have no place else to turn.

Terrific service, the guy that helped me out to start looking into this and helped me sign up was super patient, kind and understanding. Made it very easy to follow what would happen in this program. Definitely recommend. My initial call we had to cut short but when I spoke to him again we reviewed all my payments and he recommended the best option for me.

The people I have spoken with here have been amazingly helpful and explained everything in a way that is easy to understand. I feel confident in my ability to get out of debt with Freedom Debt Relief. The estimated timeline of how long it will take seems reasonable and I look forward to seeing my progress.

This product was sold to me as better than what I already had but it has not proven to be so far. Customer service is unable to assist with basic questions. No access to anyone who might be able to answer my questions. Clunky system. I've done the majority of the leg-work. Projection dates of negotiations are too far out. I was told multiple debts would be negotiated at once but not seeing that. I had several of these debts already in payment plans with my former company, yet no negotiations have been attempted yet. Disappointed.

I would love to say I enjoy using the FDR app. It's very easy to use and convenient. I have no problem navigating through the application. I can see everything I need right in front of me. If I have any problems I can call and they help me find my way.

I honestly feel like I was just sold a monthly payment with no communication and very little action. If I could go back in time I have just negotiated with previous lenders and saved A LOT of money. I have paid over $7k and there is never enough money to do anything. This whole thing has felt like a scam. I will not be recommending this company to anyone....

I received different answers from various operators about what I could do about my payment amount when my income had changed. Some kept telling me I couldn’t change the amount and each month I had to call to set amount and be grilled about why. Then a very nice man told me to talk with someone in a different department and they very pleasantly helped me rearrange my deposit. What is being done about my car loan, I don't see it on here and they can take my car. I have never missed a payment until now. So what's being done about that? I need to know what to do about that as soon as possible. I think this should be addressed because I am losing my car, only means of transportation I have. So this is important for me.

So far all is going according to plan. I am able to call and get the information I need clearly and precisely. Customer service answers the calls quickly and are very helpful in their responses. Was told I could add debt. Have been trying for weeks to reach someone via email and or phone with no luck. Not impressed. Presented themselves as caring and hands on. Very disappointed. This company needs some improvement for sure. Thinking about canceling account and going with a different company.

Kevin was great, walked me through everything I needed to know. He made me feel like there was hope getting out of debt. Great people skills. I love the app also. It allows you to track your progress along the way to paying off the debt. I would recommend this to anyone that needs help with creditors who raise your rates to 30% and trap you into paying on credit the rest of your life.

Only problem I have is I didn't understand that all the deposits I make most of the money goes to Freedom Debt Relief, when you make a settlement it's on a monthly payment then take all your commission. I thought most of my deposits would go to settlements and your payments would come mostly at the end. Otherwise I am happy.

They do not do what they say they will do. I was told payments to them would be made at a later date. That was not the case, and this messed up a settlement they had completed. I am still left with their fee, and now have a new fee because they settled another account. I'm not really interested so far. I can't submit this review because it's not good.

Every time I call in I ALWAYS get the most pleasant experience when doing so. I have had to move my monthly payment a couple times and there is never a problem. I am a customer service manager and it’s very refreshing to get excellent service over the phone! Keep up the good work!

When I signed up 2 years ago, I was told I would never go to court. I've been served subpoenas 5 times recently for the debts I have enrolled with you, your so-called legal team doesn't go to court there, for I have had to take off work losing pay!!!! You get your 2 payments a month automatic withdraw.

Quick response when I called for help. They listened to me but also asked how I got into my situation, so make me accountable, which I wasn’t ready to admit but then immediately helped me come up with a plan to be debt free in 4 years. I joined Freedom Debt Relief because I was overwhelmed with credit card debt and needed guidance. What I got instead was months of confusion, deflection, and harm to my finances and credit. In February 2025, after a change in income, I followed FDR’s instructions to stop my auto-payment and make a one-time manual payment of $588 to American Express. FDR confirmed that they received the payment—then failed to forward it to the creditor. This caused my original settlement agreement to be voided.

Did not explain about the fee which they charge me to my credit amount Fee and no one contact me for any changes or progress about my account even though I tried to contact. Even I put enough money to cover all my accounts to paid off trying to take more money from my bank so I have to call them each time. Let them know I changed twice already.

My daughter has tried Freedom Debt Relief so I went with them. It’s an excellent program to go with. I’ve been with other debt relief places and they don’t operate the same way. Freedom Debt Relief seemed concerned and was very helpful. Right now, everything is expensive so it’s a lot better than me having to pay the full debt. I pay every month. But so often, they usually send me the settlement statement and show me the amount that I owe, the amount that they offered them and what they expected. Overall, their service is excellent as you understand exactly what it’s all about.

I wanted to see if I could do something to get back in shape. The organization came up on the internet, so I went for Freedom Debt Relief. The representative was very informative and walked me through the process, told me exactly what I needed to do and what would happen over time. But the thing is, they're taking their sweet time with going after these credit places for me to reduce the debt. They’re waiting for me to make deposits before they decide to negotiate with the different credit places. They settled one, but there's three more they still gotta settle. It just seems like it's a long time in between.

I think Freedom Debt Relief can do more with contacting the debtors and letting them know what's going on to avoid the customer such as myself be back down with all the phone calls and the letters and their Freedom Debt Relief will just give them a call or send them letters and let them know what the intentions are. I think that would be a good relief off of the customers.

Patient and non-judgmental! All the people I have had the pleasure to work with so far have been knowledgeable and very helpful. The website is easy to navigate and simple to use and provides transparency during the process. I am looking forward to less stress and a resolution of my debt.

Helped me knock out $30,000 in credit card debt with a manageable payment schedule, and provided flexibility for me to modify those payments at times when needed. I had an account and was supposed to have a negotiation with the debtor, but the debtor did not want to. The law firm tried to approach the debtor, and they said they didn’t want anything to do with them. I said, “That’s crazy. How did that fall out on me?” so I had to contact the people myself and solve the problem.

I heard about Freedom Debt from my work union. Enrolling with them was simple, and communication with them is fast and right away. In seeing my progress, I always call as I like people in person and on paper. Everything has been pleasant and I haven’t had any issues so far. I will continue using them if I need them.

My account has been fully funded since February. Even after several contacts and months requesting them to speed up settlements. Although the money is available Freedom Debt continues to be slow to make settlement arrangements. Every time contact I always get a very generic answer to increase deposits, and I explain I don't have to because the account is fully funded. I want this over so I can rebuild my credit, but Freedom continues to stay on the original timeframe..

You cannot get in touch with a Human Being to ask Questions. There are only AI Stonewalls. And when you do call, they do not listen. I am still receiving Emails telling me not to use various Cards WHICH I HAVE NOT USED IN 7 MONTHS… and when I actually got to speak with Humans about this, they assured me I would no longer receive such Emails. AND YET I STILL RECEIVED THEM.

Although I am looking forward to some debt being paid, I kind of wish it was already happening. Also, I added some debt and have heard nothing and I really need it added. It is one of my biggest debts and if it is not paid, it may defeat the purpose. I also hope negotiations are done before I start making payments.

Many of their terms were not disclosed to me upon sign up. Only after the fact did I realize this as how could I have known until all these “little” unforeseen problems started coming up. Their fees are astronomical (also not disclosed) and there was a lot of avoiding answering my questions when I was suddenly served with court papers from one creditor unwilling to settle. Very stressful ordeal for me.

No correspondence other than depositing money into your account. Very disappointed with service. I have no idea if any contact has been made with IRS. Never heard from Charles even though I have requested several times for him to call me back. I have no idea what is owed to IRS. I getting notices from IRS and am told not to worry and I’m very worried.

This is a scam. They let debt sit for months and years and only settle when people get sued by the creditors and then settle for the worst rate. I have paid tens of thousands of dollars to them and my credit is WORSE than when I signed up. Absolutely terrible.

Far less than I expected from Freedom. I expected my debt to be reduced significantly more. It wasn't reduced by even half the amount. I would never recommend Freedom to anyone for resolving their credit card debt. In fact, I would urge them NOT to go thru Freedom. I had 3 Cards, they took only 2 to help me with, then barely reduced my credit card debt on the first card, and I have not heard anything from them yet concerning the second card.

Hello Deborah was very kind considerate and understanding of my plight. She walked me through every step to fill out the application and she never once had an attitude. I have called her many times to call my nerves about not paying my creditors. Always willing to help such a joy to talk to. So thankful I met her.

I was most relieved 3+ weeks ago to learn that some of my debt would be removed. I am still very new in the program and have not experienced the full benefit of the program, hence I did not rate the service at the highest possible rating. I have yet to make a payment and consequently see a lender disappear.

Taking a little longer than I would like but doing a great job and they are always helpful and lets us know what is going on. Would recommend this to anyone that need assistance in getting your debt down. They are good with talking things through when you need information or questions.

Great experience since beginning January 2024, paying off or settling four of my six accounts to date at roughly 50% each. Great communication throughout each step. Totally recommend for the person who wants to pay what they owe, but not all the fees that go with the debit. I can breathe light again.

Will be so happy when we can get these settled. I am sick of the calls multiple times a day. Feel no relief. I try to send things to help with the different debtors. Just hope we can settle some of these soon before they take me to court. Can’t you call them soon to try to get this settled.

The process was simple. I was sent both a text and an email about an offer on one of my credit card debts. I read it and accepted it via text message. Freedom Debt Relief confirmed right away with a text and an email that my offer was accepted and I was on my way to resolving my debt.

Updated on 06/05/2025: Freedom Debt Relief did call me but the customer service representative just wanted to know when the claims were made that my credit score will go back up after the program finishes. Overall when I voiced my complaints on the review they stated that I have to go fix things like credit on my own and didn't even let me get to the portion about cost. They hung up on me after I vocalized my concerns over my credit they did say it was bad that I even did the program because I am so young, something the original sales repersentitive that helped me sign up dis not mention. When I tried to call back to see if the call just dropped they ignored my calls. I haven't been called back again since. So customer service wise also a 1 star since they are more focused on being legally covered over actually hearing a customer out or listening to feedback.

I think you should start with the highest bills first, then I would've not been sued by one of my creditors. I understand that you solved the problem but if the highest was processed first I fill the law suit would never happened. I do appreciate what you have done so far.

A tool for a problem. I wish they had been more up front about how they do NOT contact your creditors until they are going to make an offer. It leaves you with the task of talking to them and receiving all their emails about missed payments and regular mail notices of updated account delinquencies.

When I first started the program, I figured it would be a couple of years at least to get my cards paid off. The folks at Freedom were very honest about how long it would take. They were also very upfront about the calls and how my credit score would drop. Because I was making my payments well, they gave me an opportunity to settle all of my outstanding balances and as of tomorrow, my last settlement will be paid. The consultant I worked with was incredibly informative, addressing my previous misconceptions, particularly about how my approach of making minimum payments every month was not effective in reducing my debt. Tired of all the calls. I thought FDR would contact everyone and let them know they were working with me. That isn't the case. FDR gets its money right off the bat.
