They explained that this would be a slow process. The advised from the beginning that the goal is to stay the course and not to miss payments as the progress will payoff in the end. I’m mid-way through, and of course my credit took a big blow, but I see my credit gradually getting better. I have one more account that needs to be negotiated (my largest debt) and once that is negotiated then I will have a foreseeable graduation date. All has been what I expected. A pleasant and realistic experience so far.

Mostly good to work with but electronic communication could be better, asked for repetitive information even after supplied twice. I'm not sure how any legal dealings work and am getting nervous about it. I certainly hope you stop the letters and establish a deal.

Since I started with FDR right up until three months or so ago, everything was really going good. Then this lady called me out of nowhere and she wanted to offer me something where I get my credit back sooner by a loan, which is the same thing the credit card companies did to me. They're trying to help me in one hand, but then trying to get me back into what I was in before. I didn't appreciate that.
Also, there was one time when they told me if I could deposit a certain amount, they would be able to settle an account ASAP and it would save me X amount of dollars. The very next day, I went to the bank and put the money in the account. But nothing ever happened. I called them and the rep I talked to either didn't have an idea of what I was talking about or she just wanted to avoid the whole conversation of something not getting done. But the money was there the whole time. I did my part and it should have been settled. But overall, it's been a very good experience for me. I've been able to get caught up somewhat and they seem to do what they can do for me.

Freedom's reps were very thorough. The person I spoke to at the very beginning made sure that I understood everything before he went onto the next part. It was a good thing for me. They did an awesome job. I got one left. They said I should have it settled, then I'll go on to the loan part. Fantastic.

The only thing I worry about is the waiting to begin the paying the debt off when the credit card co. start calling. I will get very upset. I don't handle things like very well. I have never been late with a payment.

So far I feel very good about the decision I made with FDR. Every step has been very smooth and allowed me to have peace on mind. I am satisfy with the results. When I had lost all hope the FDR program came to save my day. I couldn't keep up with my outrageous apr or interest from 20% and 30% percent and didn't have a idea what I was signing up for. Different reps called. Sent one document three times before it was finally attached to my account. I wish it was the same rep that called and read the notes that was discussed with the previous rep. Overall I’m glad my debt is resolved my. It would have also been nice to know you have a audited company for they reach out and blind side you.

We have been dragging out waiting for settlement, we were told it would take 4 months, one of our debts just settled for more than our enrolled debts so there was really no benefit in using the program. Not seeing the results we were sold on and now it is too late to pull out because we have waited 5-6 months without making payments to our creditors. Big mess, wish we would have went elsewhere.

This is a good company. They do settle your debts and for a partial cost and to be fair they start very quickly. I have been in this program for a few years now and an see some light at the end of my debt tunnel. The only thing I’m not a fan of is that when I review my client dashboard it appears and shows that I am paying more in fees to the company than I am to my creditor. Also when I had my singing and counseling when I started the program the representative said that my credit would dip for about three to six months. I wish there was more disclosure there because it was more like two years. Again this is not to bash the company however a bit more upfront disclosure would have been nice. I am satisfied that they are settling my debts it’s just not the most ideal way in my mind. Good service though and fast when it comes to settling.

They walked me through everything and they've done everything they said they're going to do. Whenever it's time to negotiate with one of my creditors, they let me know ahead of time. They let me know what's going on and we go from there. We've settled different cards.

Too many phone calls. I can get up to 5 calls a day. That's just way way too much. Negotiated settlement could be better. I am 66 years old, unemployed because of Covid 19 and I am in the high risk group for covid. Also, at my age...getting employment is very difficult and even If I were to become employed...the pay rate would be at most minimum wage so these reasons should get me better settlements.

Everyone at Freedom was very helpful. They were quick to respond and always stuck to their word. The one guy that I always seem to talk to was really nice and always helped me out when I needed to. His customer service was excellent and everything was handled the way it should be handled. The only thing I didn't like was how expensive the attorney fees were, but what attorney is not expensive? Other than that, I loved the program.
I like the fact that when I get a summons in the mail, I could just easily snap a picture of the summons, send it to the litigation group, and everything's handled for me. Also, they were very easy going with my payment. I had to change one of my withdrawal deeds so that I could manage my money better and they were very understanding with it. If I ever had an issue, they understood. They helped out my credit and helped me get my debt paid off quicker than I would on my own. It opened up my eyes to how important credit is. There have been plenty of times where I've had people come to me and ask what we've done to reduce our debt and I've referred Freedom. I tell them it's a great program and that Freedom takes care of everything.

I’m so glad I signed up for this program, my debts were getting out of hand. I needed some help and was able to get all the help through this program. One of my friends told me about Freedom and I've been in the program for more than a year now. Everything is good and I like the way they do the job. I told them two or three months ago that I was trying to pay it off. I have three or four years to pay it off if I paid the minimum that I was supposed to pay but my husband was gonna help me pay it off. They calculated it and told me the total. The other person told me it was 600 and something I have left. They took for December. Now I have 400 and change left then it's gonna be done.

I called concerning the settlement date of my Amex card because it was supposed to be settled on Nov 5th and Crossroads took out another payment from my bank in December. I was told to call back on Monday, Dec. 21 and they would refund my money. I was happy with your representative's help.

Started in the end of 2017 they have been pretty good, but has taken way longer than was told..?? My credit score has gone up???? Wish this could had been resolved faster. Overall I do give them a thumbs up but please make sure you ask lots of questions.

I was reluctant at first because no settlement were happening. After the first settlement it was awesome. Freedom Debt works hard to help their clients. Always great customer service. I’m very happy I found them. They helped me keep up with my dedicated deposit. My credit score dropped a lot but now it’s going back up. It is worth the wait for settlements. I emailed every paper or letter I got from a creditor to Freedom as they asked. I sent them one that was threatening to go to court. I assumed they would work on that, but I got a certified letter that it was in Mason County Court now. I've talked to someone at the litigation place now, and they assured me that they received all the paperwork and were working on it. I was a little upset that even though I sent them an advance letter that this was going to happen, there didn't seem to be any action taken. But up until now, I've been very satisfied.
I don't want to go to court. I have talked with other people I know that have done this with other companies and they never gotten anything like this about going to court. So that had me a little concerned about my choice of picking them. If they can keep me out of going to court, I will be pleased. I hate that it had to go to that. I live in a small town. When I signed up, I was told that these debts would be paid off in 3 years. That was not true!! The balances increased while you were "negotiating". There are still accounts that are not even in the process. Your fees are eating up what I keep paying.

Freedom Debt Relief was nice and I felt that I could go with them. They gave me all the information I needed, told me how much my deposit would be every month and when my graduation time would be. They added all my bills up and they figured out how long it would take to pay all this off and what the average bill would be a month. Yes when I called they answered all my answers about an account that I was disputing because someone else was using my identity and that account popped up for y'all to settle. Two years I found FDR and was very happy that I was able to send my payments directly to FDR in order to pay off my credit cards in a very timely manner. I would recommend FDR and I am happy to say my final payment will take place January 10 2021.

I was thirty-plus thousand dollars in debt. I had a business and unfortunately, an event occurred and it caused me to go for a downward plunge. By the time I got finished with what all of these credit card companies charged me, I was way well over my head. I was starting a new life and a new job. I didn't wanna claim bankruptcy because I wanted to do it the right way, regardless if it’s wrong, right, indifferent. I started searching for different programs on the internet and I came across Freedom Debt Relief. Once I researched it, I called them and asked them what they could do for me. They answered the questions that I had such as what are the legalities and can they protect me from anyone suing me. I had already lost everything but I wanted to start over fresh. I didn't want my checks garnished.
They kinda gave me an overview of what they could do and how they work. At that point, I was submitting to any kind of alternative option to get my debt taken care of. I gave them the ball and I had to trust them blind faithfully. I've heard other people in my family saying, "I don't know if that's such a great thing. Maybe you should rethink it." But I couldn't. There were too many accounts and I couldn't manage that all on my own. I needed professional help to help me do it if I wasn't gonna bankrupt.
Freedom Debt Relief has been awesome with me and they've helped me get through it. We've gone a long way in a short period of time. They've been a great benefit to me. My credit scores have increased. I don't have anybody antagonizing me to take anything away from me. The legal aspect of it stopped. If I call them, they're very open to answering any of my questions and in a way that I can understand. I appreciate them very much.
There was a small discrepancy from what they told me though. On the program itself, it states that they can get anywhere between 50% and 75% off of whatever it is that you owe. They gave me a projection, how to make that happen and when I would have a graduation date. As we go along the program, I started to realize that the first few of them were nicely done. I had saved over 50%. Then it started to dwindle down to 45% savings. They said we were gonna have to extend my graduation date. It's not gonna be four years, it's gonna be four and a half years. Those types of things get people to where they're standoffish. You start to not wanna trust them. With the way things are working in life right now, anything is fearful. We get fearful for any little discrepancy. They could let the consumer know if we were to go ahead and give another $10 or $15, we could make it in the same amount of time.
What they do after everything's said and done is to take away the extra fees that they put on there which is the interest and the late fees. So, in reality, I'm paying that principal amount which is okay. But it goes to my credit report and it states that I've only paid a portion of it when I have paid the whole principal. Once you pay, they just incorporate that all in that 50% off. I end up paying the whole thing anyways.
Another thing is if they find that that you have another account with Freedom Debt Relief and you agree to add it, that's gonna increase your deposit by so much. You're gonna have to go ahead and extend the amount of time you'll be with the program. If I have to pay for the program, that means that on top of that account being added and me being passed on months or years as we go along, I also have to pay the 9.99 and the 19.99. That's an extra $30 per month times how many months I have to be with the program extended.
But in the end, thank God that I was able to come this far in such a short time and they were able to tackle this big mess that we put us in. It was over 30 accounts and I should be appreciative. I have so much respect for them and I appreciate everything they've done. I would totally suggest them to anyone that goes through the same. I hope nobody goes through what I went through but I'm sure that there are people, especially with this coronavirus, that will walk through the same path I did in a short time, and I will represent Freedom Debt Relief with a good review.

This account was not paid off on time and went to court due to a lack of communication from FDR. I was told earlier in the year that all accounts were paid off to find out this one was not due to a change in mailing address for the account to be billed. Not my error, but FDR’s error to follow up.

My husband and I had many credit cards and medical bills that we couldn’t handle anymore. We looked into several debt recovery companies and FDR was the best we could see. I heard Freedom Debt Relief through an advertisement on Pinterest. The post was cleaner and it had a better look to it. When I finally made the call to them, the sales guy did a lot of work. He sold me on it and I signed up. I had a few credit cards from when I had a lawn maintenance business and my business went under 'cause I started late in the summer and I was trying to live off of it. I couldn't pay off the credit cards anymore and Freedom had their solution. They not just took over the payments but negotiated the debt and did all the legwork. I had a question right after I started and it was about how the payments were working and where the money was going exactly. I called the salesperson and he explained it to me. A couple months ago, I called again to their help line and got more knowledge I didn't know the first time. They do really good with the customer service.
Initially, it was good to give myself that room to breathe and the ability to pay things off. But overall, I regret it. Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't go through it again if I was in the same position. I could have just picked up a second job like I ended up doing anyway and just paying stuff off faster. I wouldn't have had to let go of all those credit lines and I wouldn't have had to ruin that history and those relationships with the bank. One of the big sales pitches that the salesperson was giving me was that the banks aren't really your friends. They're only there to get their money. But at the end of the day, a credit card is like a business agreement. I agree to borrowing the money and I will pay it back on my time 'cause there's a pretty low minimum payment. I just owe a little bit of money in the difference. The bank can be your enemy or they can be your friend. You can make an enemy out of them if you want and it's kinda what I did with Discover and Chase a little bit.

I recently got a call from a collection agency. They told me that Freedom Debt Relief had never contacted them regarding my account. I settled the account with them myself and when I told freedom debt relief to remove that account from my active debts, they told me I needed to send them proof. My word should have been enough! Obviously they had done nothing with this account for 3 years! I wish I had just dealt with all my creditors myself! Now I’m paying them for what I could have done myself! Plus when I signed up they told me that the fees would be paid for by the credit card companies! I have been charged through the nose!

The program has taken a while because I’m in so much debt but so far, it’s good. Freedom is helping me. They don't call me though. All I get is email from them and a bunch of articles and videos. I have to call them if I have any questions. But I would recommend Freedom because it's better than to file bankruptcy. They do negotiate with the creditors and keep you off their backs.

Happy with the program so far. I’ve been in program for a little over 3 months and when I call Freedom Debt relief they were very helpful with any questions I’ve had. The enrolment was easy. Freedom did pretty much all the work. They were easy to work with. They accommodated my needs and was available when I needed them. I've been in the program for about a year and a half and at this point, I've changed over to Consolidation Plus. All my debts should be settled so I'm starting working on increasing my credit. I would recommend Freedom to someone who has high debt rates.

I got their consolidation service to help me pay off the debt that I have. We spoke about the situation I was in and what amount that I owed. They made a plan for me and how they would handle this. They took it step-by-step and how everything would break down, and what the fees would be, and the time frame that I would have to pay all this stuff. Then I had to drop out for a while because both of my parents passed away a couple of years ago, and I had to take over the house payments. I finally came back.
I had a situation before with one of Freedom's partners, where the guy came out too strong and was asking me about how the breakdown would be, and that it was faster to pay it that way. I told him that I didn't want to go that route. I just want to stay with Freedom Debt because I don't have all the money. He then said they were gonna put up the money for me. He kind of laughed about it and said that he never heard nobody turn down this situation where they were gonna go. I didn't like that he was trying to force me to do something I don't want to do. My situation was that everything was going to come up to about $13,000 at the way I was doing it. But the way he wanted to approach it was, if I pay off this loan and then there was all this interest rate, it was going to come up to 20,000. He apologized afterward and told me, "Yeah. You're right. I shouldn't approach it by telling you that.”
I'm comfortable with Freedom right now. The first time I was with them, I was paying $111. They first told me that everything with the breakdown was there, and it was going to come up to 111. Then they wound up telling me that they have to bump up the payment a little bit because of something about the account that they were trying to negotiate. But then the rep changed the subject and said it was something about the lawyers. So from $111, I had to bump it up to $117.
I had another experience not too long ago, where one of my creditors wanted to take me to court. The rep wanted to go from $117 to $240. But that's something I can't afford. I told him that if that was going to be the case, then I would cancel everything and find another organization that can come up and help me with this situation. I had to call another department that handles all the lawyer situation. So he told me, "Well, how does 127.50, another $7 or somewhere around there, $8?" I told him I can go ahead and do that. When I was with Freedom a couple of years ago, I never had this situation. They were handling everything pretty good. I didn't have to deal with lawyers. But overall, they're still doing a good job even though they have those little situations because they're trying to push me to pay off all the debt in a quicker pace.

Freedom is very fair and very professional. The reps have been good. I've been dealing with the same person and it only changed when we changed from the credit consolidation to the new one. When we got to the end of the first period in the middle of it, they started switching me over to a buy-out of some sort to pay off the debt quicker. They didn’t discuss it until they were ready to do it. If they have said that in the beginning, we would have been prepared to do that. But they didn’t force me to do it. They gave me the opportunity and it was my choice. The payment stayed the same. That's what the deal was. They paid my debt off and now I have a loan through them I have to pay off and the payment doesn't start until February.

When I first talked to the rep, he was okay. They have good quality service. They take 300 something out of my account every two weeks. They're still working on some of the cases. But it's kind of hard paying them right now, because I got laid off in May.

Talked about a debt that said I better pay or they were going to close my account. So I called up the help center and told them what was going on and they got in touch with the negotiators to talk to the debt people so they would not close the account.

Freedom Debt Relief got me enrolled into a program that was in my budget where I could pay the monthly payment. I was paying over 1,300 a month on credit cards. With Freedom, I am paying about 600 a month. They take out half and half twice a month and they tell me. I'm in a three-year program and I have two more years to go to. The reps were very kind. They were very thorough when I asked. It was the big thing for me. You have to tell me what my payment is gonna be and when you’ve taken it out so I can have that money available, and they did. They’re thorough. They will tell you everything they're doing every step of the way.

I was straight to the point in what I wanted and the rep gave me all the information I needed, and then I enrolled. All of my question was answered right away. There was one time somebody called me for one debt. It was almost at the end of the settlement. I checked with the lawyer with FDR and they told me that as long as I don’t get a physical paper about it, I should ignore it. So I ignored it. It's been good so far.

I did a lot of research before making a decision to work with FDR. I recommend that a lot of thought should be put into a decision this big and don't be afraid to ask questions. FDR representatives have been good at staying in contact with me. I had my first two settlement agreements within a couple of months. The subsequent ones have been slower, but that's really not a bad thing. I am happy that I chose to pay for the legal representation since one of my creditors did serve me. It was settled within days of my lawyers getting involved.
My two pieces of advice (other than do your research before signing on) are to pay the extra money for the legal team and be prepared to pay taxes on the amount that your debt gets reduced by. Sure, you may qualify for insolvency and not have to pay taxes, but if you're like me, you will have to pay. Again, do the math and estimate what you think you may owe and put that money aside when you first get the settlement agreement. Also, this isn't a non-profit. The company makes money off you; don't be shocked when you see their % come out of your account. Overall, FDR is helping me get back on my feet after years of bad financial decisions. Do your research and be patient.

The company charged too much and the last credit card I paid more. No savings. With all the fees and 1099R there wasn't much of a savings, would not do it again. And the lawyer they have was more for the credit card side, he was not helpful.
