I love the idea of the program except the fact I will be behind in payments and my credit will go down until Freedom Debt negotiates with the creditors. I dont want negative marks on my credit. I wish the payments can be made now instead of when my balance Increases with Freedom Debt Relief.

We’re glad we went through their program for our credit card. It took four years. We felt good when we were done, but we didn't realize that our credit would still be bad for a while. So we’re rebuilding our credit right now but Freedom Debt Relief was wonderful.

I moved and had to update my address and phone number. I learn the bank withdrawal was still not being withdrawn and the bank had wrong information going forward in November. I have since corrected this with them yesterday, December 6th.

If I had questions, I would call and they would answer. For two times, it had been a “Go to court” and then Freedom Debt Relief took care of it. Working with the consultant through the getting started process was good. Their payment plan was also good, and I even increased it to $50 because more have been taken off. So, I have three left, two of them they are negotiating. Once those two go through, I will just have one left.

I believe I have contacted FDR two times recently. Both contacts were regarding Discover suing me for $7,900 owed on Discover Card I previously used. Both representatives were helpful in reassuring me -- one saying, "Don't freak out yet! Wait a year!!!" So that's what I'm doing... Freedom Debt Relief is not working fast enough for me because I keep getting garnishments, papers to go to court. What they haven't done is share my check per se. I enrolled in October of last year. The representative told me that they would be able to take care of it in 48 months when I first called. That was the last year. And so, I thought the process would free them up a little more than what they're doing. He told me that not all of them close, and I knew a little bit about it, aware of just very little about all the warrants they send me for me to go back and forth to court. I would have filed bankruptcy if I knew this was gonna happen and I would just wash all of it away and waited to see if I get anything. But now, since I'm in it, I don't have any money to do anything different. It's $410 a month every two weeks. They said that they paid the money like that on the credit card.
They closed out two credit cards and I have two that they are working on. If I'm paying $400 some dollars, it should be closing out something other than just two a year. I don't wanna go pay it 48 months. I want them to move a little faster with settling the debt. They're paying themselves and when I called, they asked me to add more money. I don't have more money. If I have more money, I won't be asking them to help me. I got to live my life as well with paying my bills for my rent.

I began Over a year ago. I still Have 2 debts that have not been contacted or targeted for negotiations. One is with a law firm - that is the excuse I get From FDR every time I call. But it hasn’t been with them for over a year. So it will be FDR’s fault if I get Sued or arrested. And the other debt has never been called. In a year and a half??? I have Over $30000 in my account and I think FDR is stretching my account out to use all of that money. I put it in there because 6 months ago they told me that is what it would take to 100% pay off everything. I doubt that is still true and I am pissed.

Phone call. Very long and involved. I had to keep going to my upstairs to get information. A little confusing because I am not computer knowledgeable from my phone and do not have a working laptop. I think a little at a time would have made the experience easier.

This account was settled. Made payment in Sept, Oct and Nov. When I recently checked the Nov payment was removed and the payment was put back into my acct. The account showed 3rd payment will be made on 12/10/19. I called. Customer service explained the above and wanted to know why. The was Rep was very nice, he put me on hold to look up Information. When he came back to the phone he could not find much information about about this. This credit card is the only one that sends me monthly statements. When I looked at my credit report from Credit Karma this account shows final payment received in November. The balance due reflected the 3 payments paid on this settlement. Makes no sense to me.

I was very nervous because this is my first experience. The person that spoke to me with was very patient with me, even if I need info repeated. It was a lot of info so I could not remember everything but I have my Client Dash Board with resources that remind me including (videos). The Dash Board keeps me updated also of my deposits. I joined Freedom Relief after a long period of struggling with high monthly credit card payments, high interest cards that balance wouldn’t go down no matter how much I was paying. Lied to about acct. Mr ** said he would call me back re issues. No call. No answer. When I call very poor customer service. Was told I was tight on cash. They were rude and told me if I couldn't make a payment they would cancel the program. Not what I was told to get me to sign up.

I heard about FDR in one of the morning shows and I decided to work with them because they recommended that it would be a good thing for people who are in debt. But the service I received was absolutely terrible. I was charged for things I didn't know and several times, I asked for an itemized breakdown but I was never provided. The charges are also erratic. $1,000 here, $800 here and I never knew what they were for. When I did ask, I got the big runaround and I would never get an answer.
What they've done to me is bankrupt me completely. Although they did pay my debt off, I was not told that there would be a tax penalty. At the end of the year, I had to pay taxes on the money that I did not pay back. I also had to pay an early withdrawal fee for taking the money out of my 401(k). I took $30,000 out of my retirement plan and closed it. I now owe the IRS $12,000 because of these fees and I have to set up a payment plan that I’ll be paying for the rest of my life.
I could've used the money that I gave FDR and paid every single one of my credit cards, be clear and not be in this mess. But I was totally taken for a ride and I was scammed. The moment my taxman saw that I used FDR, his face dropped and said I was in trouble. He said I was going to owe money to the IRS. FDR is a complete modern-day-loan-sharking company and what they're doing to people is terrible. A friend of mine said the same thing happened to her. I would never recommend them to anybody and if I could go on air and tell everybody I know not to use them, I would do that. I want people to know about it and want somebody to do something about it too. I'm disgusted and I am beyond dissatisfied.

I have no complaints with the services after 2 years I purchased a New Toyota with zero % interest with my damaged credit score. The only thing I would recommend is a CAP on legal fees? No need to pay monthly once I have settled my debt.

When faced with problem from creditor, FDR was fast and extremely helpful. I was sued by the creditor and within hours, my case was turned over the NLLG and all my information was handled in one day. Could not ask for better service.

This company charges outrageous settlement fees. They tell you when you first sign up if you make a one time payment (which is in addition to your monthly payment to them) it will help you pay off your card debt faster. Little do we know that the extra money we give them to pay off our debt faster they use for their fees! I made a one time payment of $1688 one month and they overcharged for fees for the next two months, with the last fee they charged me was $1200 for one month, which was the balance in my account from the $1688 I put into my account.
I was lead to believe this extra money I was putting towards my account was going towards paying my credit card! FDR advertises that they only charge 15%-25% of the settlement amount. Well my settlement amount was a little over $500 and they charged me over $1200 in settlement fees! INSANE! RIDICULOUS AND ROBBERY! Filing a complaint with the BBB and the governing body. Here is their advertisement below on how they charge their fees:

I wanted to get my debt under control without filing for bankruptcy. FDR explained the process and to me it is the lesser of two evils. I can make the payments to the dedicated account and have peace of mind that the debt problem will be taken care of in a reasonable amount of time. The amount it will take to get out of debt is much better than the amount owed.

FDR has been an amazing experience so far. They’ve already agreed to two settlements in my account. The first one happening within 60 days of signing up, and reached a settlement with a second creditor soon after, and the creditors have quit calling since changing my address and contact number to FDR.

I am an actual person who was drowning in debt after a divorce. I stopped paying my creditors and started receiving the threatening phone calls and mail. I researched my options and considered my $32,000 debt was fixable without filing for bankruptcy. It took over four years, but with a flexible payment plan going into a dedicated account... I had a sense of relief knowing I was working towards the right direction. I can’t recall a person who talked down to me with FDR and they were always informative, helpful, and understanding. I was searching for a loan big enough to encompass all my debt and leave me with one bill to pay. It was difficult. No one was offering one big enough, but I kept looking. Then one day I got a letter, a notice, that came close to what I was looking for. So I gave them a call. They couldn’t help with a loan, but they had a program that could help me. And I qualified for it. I listened, I took notes, I got excited. They would help me reduce my debt. Not increase it. They explained what would happen, but I didn’t understand at first. Credit gets bad before it gets better. But it wouldn’t have changed my mind.
I may not have been in as debt as most people, but I was in more debt than I wanted. Life happens, things have to be replaced like water lines that burst and cause your monthly bill to skyrocket. Tires go flat. Things happen. I needed this. I didn’t want to get worse. In the end, I am extremely happy I did this. I no longer have these debts, and I’m on the last leg of my debt relief. Now, it’s time to rebuild my credit. And thanks to FDR, I can see the light at the of my debt tunnel.

I have a concern with how my debt is being managed. I would prefer getting an offer to pay off each debt with a offer & compromise (smaller amount to be paid in a lump sum). I have discovered some of my credit cards that I only owed 800-1000 are over 2000 and that is what they are making a deal on. FDR is telling me I am getting 57% savings but that is based on the outrageous balance from late fees & interest and of course FDR is charging me fees based off of the large amount of money they made a deal with.
I have more debt now than I did when I started and my credit keeps dropping despite the small amount of debt I had. I have always had ???? paying bills on time but lost my job in March and had no work for over 3 months which forced me to turn to FDR. It is sad when you trust someone who is supposed to be helping you move in the right direction and it ends up only hurting me more. Thank God I have a great paying job now and can pay my bills. I am sure FDR is happy because that made a lot of money off of my debt????

I’m about done. I’m totally satisfied with FDR. Only negative out of the whole thing is that I was told that it would be 92 payments. I’ll be done in January 2020. Which makes it 94 payments. 2 more payments were added which really upset me but oh well..

It's OK. My friends think I'm a loser for even remotely trying to gain assistance. Have lost not only friends but bank accounts. Most of the debts involved interest, ship/handling fees, late payments due to lack of timely billing by vendors as requested but never implemented, food purchases made and got wasted due to improper storage in stores without employees paying attn to exp dates. All cr cards are closed. Some stores no longer take checks, cash has to be exact amounts without large bills. Because of all the so-called RULES now in place it is difficult to find stores that will take SRs over age 50 and unemployed.

Overall I have been very happy with my decision and implementation of my debt consolidation program with one exception. When I originally discussed the program it included a personal loan from Lending Club. I told my consultant I was working on a home equity loan and would finalize the program after my home equity loan was approved. After the equity loan was approved, the required they pay off the Lending Club loan in full. My payment program had already been determined with FDR including Lending Club at $1,800/month. When I spoke to my consultant, he told me with the Lending Club removed from my program my payment would change to around $1,000/month and after the Lending Club check cleared and showed my balance was 0, I would receive the new payment plan before my first payment on the 25th of this month.
When I followed up with submitted the proof of payment and 0 balance I was told I would have to be in the plan for 6 months before the payment would be adjusted downward. This is an economic hardship and I would have waited until the Lending Club balance had been zero before I would have even started the program. This is a little unfair especially when I was told something different. Obviously, I have emails to prove this was discussed with me. After another deposit, I will request a re-evaluation of my monthly payment.

I received a notice to appear in court (Synchrony for Chevron & Texaco) so I immediately contacted National Lit Law offices. I never got a real person. Just emails and copies of inter office emails. Since I had heard from no one, I called the day of the court date and was told it had been passed along to the proper persons. Turned out, no one had contacted the judge or the court. So I now have a judgement filed against me, including court costs and failure to show in court. I have no idea where to go with this from this point and I am not happy.

I have been very pleased with everyone from Freedom Debt that we have had contact with. The only downside are the costs of getting ourselves out of our financial mess. I believe a great deal of money could still be made by Freedom and Consolidated if fees and loan interest were lower. We were told we were selected to be considered for a loan due to the fact we were excellent regarding our deposits, and being responsible if that indeed is true then offering a lower interest rate would truly help. It would be nice to know there is truly a company that helps those in desperate situations and they can still make money, they are a business not a charity. I will be truly relieved when this is all behind me and will refer others to Freedom if that is their only way out.

I've only had good experience with Freedom. They've been great. The lady that I talked to was super nice and she walked me through everything. She didn't make me feel small when I asked her a question, and she answered them, and it was great. She even answered questions that I didn't even think about asking. So far, it's been wonderful. I get picked whenever something comes up and I just put my info in, and it's done from there. I liked the fact that it's taken out of my checking account twice a month, so it makes it so much easier, and I don't have to worry about it. It took a lot of weight off of me and my husband's shoulders.

I am very happy with the process using Freedom Debt. The only thing that I would warn a user about is the percentage that is charged for each debt cleared from FDR for their services, which I was unaware of until my first settlement and that sometimes it takes up to 3 years of payments to clear your debts. Otherwise, I am very satisfied with the process. In addition, I found it a bit unnerving to have the lawyers make me sign off the debt using something that contains what looks or may seem like a spam notice. I would rather that become part of the FDR notices on my FDR page on their website to maintain consistency and remove a persons feeling that something like identity theft might be happening.
I have expressed that to customer service and I realize that the lawyer is a separate entity, but it is still unnerving to receive those notices. Easy to respond to the settlement via text message on phone but you should read the details on the payments as you may not want to pay for 3-4 years to rid the debt. So check it before signing it. I am very happy with Freedom debt relief so far, but still 2 years later, have one more debt unsettled and piling on charges, which seems too long for a smaller debt settlement. I would recommend using the services to others.

Freedom Debt Relief has served me well. I have been sent to court twice and hired the attorneys that come with the fee that I pay and they were able to get me out of it. Recently, I was surprised that I had 2,700 debt with Amazon. I thought I had to pay, but they are already working on it, which was excellent news. FDR has been amazing. They're taking care of everything for me. And my score has gone from a 580 to a 660 in less than a year. It's amazing!

I had problems with my credit cards and Freedom Debt Relief was willing to work with what I could afford to do. The experience with their rep has been very good. The application process was a bit long, but that's normal with that kind of stuff, and they were able to communicate with me excellently. The payment plan they provided me was excellent. I wish it could have been three years instead of two to make payments a bit lower, but it was good. It has been six months now that I've been into the program and so far, they've settled one of my accounts.

Freedom has been amazing. In going through the process they were completely transparent with us every step of the way, with the timeframes included, and were also very knowledgeable. We have approximately seven debts that we needed to settle and we had settled two. We’re now working on two, and three more after that. We’re almost halfway through, and we’re doing really well. Instead of a monthly payment, we do it every two weeks. So whenever we get our paycheck it comes right out, and it’s really easy. And it’s literally only $300, so it’s really nothing. Whereas we were paying thousand of dollars a month for all of our credit card bills.
The reps have been very helpful in working on us with trying to rebuild our credit. Our credit score increased a little instead of being so negative. Whereas before, it wasn’t that great. When we were searching other places before they were just like, “Oh, no. Yeah, we don’t help with that.” And they were just very negative about the whole thing. It was nice that with Freedom they said, "We work with that and we'll try to help you.” We’re very pleased with them. Any time we’ve called them with questions or with needing assistance or just clarification, they’ve been very, very helpful.

I looked at different companies, and Freedom Debt Relief had a higher better rating as taking care of people. The application process went really well and it was easy. But the weird part was the transition to consolidated loan. I still haven’t received documents and they’ve already pulled money from my account, and they increased it by $200. I was told that they sent the information, someone was gonna call, and I could change the dates, but none of that went well. They told me I needed to talk to the loan consolidation people. So I talked to some and I called even in between because it was taking so long. The dates were a little frustrating, but other than that, it was fine. They took care of it. Everything’s electronic, and then I got a duplicate charge. It got a little hokey in there and they were automatically pulling. They should have had a conversation with me before they started pulling the new amount, which was 200 more. But they credited it back. Everything’s fine.

Freedom Debt Relief had very well reviews when I researched through Google. They were the first one that I called and the experience went very well. The rep explained everything that was gonna happen and it made me feel comfortable. So, I didn’t search any further and I went ahead and chose them. Their customer service team was very attentive, on top of things and answered my questions. It was a stressful process but they’ve been really helpful in explaining everything - how it works, making arrangements in getting the settlements done, etc. They walked me through every step of the way. Freedom Debt Relief has done real good for me. I've seen them advertised and everybody talked about how good they were so I called and talked to them. They took me right away and said for me not to worry about anything and that they would take care of my debt. And so far, I've got some of it paid down. To sign up, I called and I talked to a man. He told me all about the process and walked me through it. He also told me how the company works. When I got through talking to him, I felt like a weight had been lifted off. FDR is honest and doing what they said they would do. Also, if you have any questions, you could call them anytime and talk to them. You can always get on your phone and look and see where you're at and how far you've come. If you needed help with a situation like I was in, give FDR a call and talk to them.

Updated on 06/12/2021: I would be in a different place today without the assistance of Freedom Debt Relief. Thanks to them most of my debt has been paid off and my credit rating is rising. I had been trying to contact someone in your company since last week. I changed jobs so deposits have changed. Now I have NSF fees. The girl I talked to today seemed rude. I called my bank to get charges dropped because if I hadn't I would be continuously getting charged the NSF fees.

Overall I was satisfied with my experience with FDR, they were able to keep me from accruing more interest on my accounts. My last statement shows me a balance of $600 plus and I paid all their fees, but no one seems to know where that money went. I do not understand the fees they charged. How do they charge by %, by hours worked. I couldn't get anyone to answer questions once I turned over my accts.

Fees are too much, balance in account is wrong, had trouble with 1 account and that screwed up everything. My dedicated account shows 300 in it when fees are 250 and 50 goes to creditor, that's 300. Leaves me with 0 balance. When I call they tell me there is enough money in account and everything is going good. I don't see where.

Freedom Debt Relief didn't work out well. I wrote a letter to the CEO of the company stating I am a breast cancer patient and how going into Freedom Debt Relief did alleviate some of the stresses because I was unable to work at the time. And I went in and I recommended probably about 20 people to them. It got down to the three accounts, and they could't get them to move on this to go down. And I said, "I'm getting these letters from all these lawyers who want to sorta represent me." I'm like, "For what? I got y'all." So they said, "Well, why don't you take out the legal insurance?" So I took out the legal insurance, spoke with one of the lawyers from NLG, and a lady took my information. She was like, "Okay, we gotta get it down, we're gonna do this, gonna do that." But I didn't hear anything for three months.
Finally, I contacted them, then their attorney contacted me one time. And he said, "Oh, we can't do anything, they refuse to budge." So I called Freedom Debt Relief, and they said they'd handle it. And that was when I had to write the letter to the CEO because when they handled it, they added like an extra, almost $2,000 in fees. What I owe to Bank of America was like about five grand. It jumped by 2,000 and some dollars. It all defeated the purpose of me going with Freedom Debt.
I was really perturbed. I couldn't take the stress because of my health, but I did send that CEO a letter and I did express to them my dissatisfaction. And now, I can't get out of this program until 2022. This is crazy. I've been here since 2016. So I'm very disturbed and I'm going file up a report with somebody because this is ridiculous. The first two worked out but those last three haven't budged. One is still in negotiation and one's in some type of strategic hold. But the one with Bank of America ended up being worse. They made my stress worse. I'm getting me a lawyer to sue them because they mislead the people.

Freedom Debt Relief had more information on the internet to read up about what you do and how you do it. And I felt more comfortable with what I read about them. Also, the other places appeared like they were just trying to sell them but FDR was more personal. The rep I talked to at first was very informative, too, and she answered all my questions. I was kinda weary at the time about what was gonna happen to my credit but I wanted to fix it. And she helped me understand everything that was gonna happen and what we were gonna go through.
During the process, there was also plenty of communication between me and the representatives. If I ever had a question, I would call them and everybody was really nice and friendly. It was a scary thing to go through but they put me at ease. They made me feel like I could trust them and that they were gonna take care of me, and they did. Everything went really well and I’m very pleased with the outcome now that I’m done. It was also a big stress reliever for me just knowing that I could depend on them, that they were gonna take care of me, and that I didn’t have to worry about fixing my debts anymore.

With Freedom Debt Relief, the convenience of having that set amount automatically come out of the account without even having to worry about another bill to pay is perfect. It’s automatically deducted on the amounts and dates that I agreed to. And their communication through email is on point. The client dashboard is user-friendly. They dedicated an account I’ve had to pull amounts from for financial hardships, and they don’t judge. They don’t give you any push back. I could get my money right away if I need it. It’s super convenient. I’ve been with them since July of 2017, and now, I’m at the tail-end of my agreement with them.

The original person that I talked to was very helpful and the process was very easy. They gave me a couple of options and I picked the one that was best for me and they deduct it every other week out of my account. They told me everything that I needed to know, so I'm very happy with that. They notify me when I have somebody willing to settle. But anytime that I've had a question, they've been very able to answer it. They do their thing and when they need me, they let me know. I still have a ways to go, but my credit score has went up a lot. I would recommend them to anybody looking for debt relief because they're definitely knowledgeable and helpful.

At the very beginning, the man I spoke to walked me through everything and told me how the process works. I was concerned about what my payment would be and they told me what interest they charge, which was horrible, but I still saved money because they were able to reduce almost all of my debts. He explained things, then I just started doing what he said and it seemed like it was working. Freedom Debt Relief was able to split my payments into two payments a month, which was very helpful. Before, I was not able to pay all of it. I used to call it my albatross. Now, although I’m still struggling, I’m able to pay it, which is a big weight off my shoulders.
I like the client’s portal or the dashboard, which I thought was helpful. Moreover, whenever I called with a question, somebody was always there and able to answer my questions to my satisfaction. The last person I worked with was very helpful. People loaned me the money on my credit cards and then we negotiated it down, which makes me feel very dishonest, but in spite of that, using FDR was a great experience and I would recommend them.

Updated on 03/04/2021: The service has been excellent. They keep me posted on a good base. They tell me how much I gotta put in my account, I put that in and they take it out and pay the creditors.
Original Review: I was trying to get out of debt right away and Freedom Debt Relief sounded good. They said to put money in the account every month and that it would take about three years to pay my debt off. I put 577 in my account every month and they take it out. They're supposed to be paying all my debts off, but I haven’t heard anything from them lately and nothing has gotten paid off. Other than that, my experience with them has been good so far.

Freedom Debt Relief is legit. Some companies say that they're gonna help you, but then they don't. However, FDR has done everything they’ve said so far. I got a couple of collection notices, but I switched all my contact information for my credit cards to them so I don't hear anything from collectors. The only ones I hear from are FDR when they do a settlement for me.
Whenever they do a settlement, they text me and then I approve it and we go from there. They have done three settlements so far. They're gonna pay it off in the next 20 payments. They try spreading them out after when they do a couple at a time. I'm starting to pay them off now because you gotta build your account off. I only do 234 a month and the progress hasn't been bad. It takes time at that rate, but I don't have any extra money to put extra on it yet to do the loan faster because we just moved to Florida. FDR is a good company and I have recommended them to a couple of people already.

I had some credit card that I couldn’t catch up on that my lovely child has gotten ahold of. She had to file bankruptcy, and I saw the Freedom From Debt commercial, so I decided to give them a call and see what happened. They have been amazing from the beginning to the end, then all the way in between. Everybody has been amazing over there. I am able to do the payment plan, and I'm in about a year with the program. I feel better that I don’t have 10,000 people calling me and I know everything is being taken care of.

UPDATED 7/5/2021: I have been very ashamed that I put myself in this financial strain. However, there is a light at the tunnel. The CSR I spoke with to remove two accounts from my program was very helpful. She explained to me the end result by getting these 2 off the program and how my dedicated account will be going forward to negotiate the last account that hasn't been settled yet. I am happy I will be paying the 2 accounts off in full so I can focus on finishing my program. I appreciate the kindness and knowledge of the CSR I spoke with. She was amazing!

When you worked your whole life and never missed a payment on anything and due to circumstances out of your control, you are in debt with no way out, it is hard to ask for help, but, it is somewhat easier knowing your debt is being paid back and you will see the the light at the end of the tunnel.

Because of you not acting fast enough I was sent to garnishment, I called the company and had you taken off the account so I could work a deal of payment and they took the garnishment off. All of a sudden you came in and did this and it was a waste of my money, time and poor business. I talked and filled out the paper work for you to take the certain account off of the debt review and even took the money out of the account to pay on it. You guys do not know what the other is doing. No one reads, no one is looking at the past 6 months of communication. You made a second major mistake. I am sick of it.

1st - My initial feeling getting into FDR, that I was going to get updates on actual dealing with the creditors. 2nd - Speaking to original spokesmen from FDR was great (IRA), second or third time maybe I spoke to representative from FDR, conflicting stories of the accounts on what had been already negotiated, for my accounts, then I called back to find why my payments hadn’t changed after they told they would, to make a long story short there was conflicting issues said and didn’t happen, and got cleared up eventually.

The CSR I spoke with was fast and professional. I was having to call to reschedule my deposit due to the dates I receive my monthly retirement deposit and requested that the date be moved from the 26th to the 28th. My request was handled in a couple of minutes. I couldn't be more pleased.

Freedom Debt Relief does a good job, especially with the negotiation of things. And I trust them to do that. I love the program. Even my parents used the program and loved it too. But they make it a little difficult to pay things off. For example, I called them in June and I had five different things to be paid off with them. I said, “Hey, if I give you guys an X amount of money, can we apply it to A, B, and C, to pay them completely?” They originally told me yes. And so, I got the money, and deposited it into my account. And then, I called FDR back and said that I just did the deposit that day and was wondering if we could put it towards X, Y, and Z ‘cause it was enough to pay off about three of the four items and then I added the fifth. They told me that I couldn’t do that.
I have one where I owe 700 bucks. I asked, “So, why can’t we pay that off? Your creditors are gonna want that now! They wanted that yesterday.” Right now, I have $3,000 in my account that could go to pay things off completely, and they wouldn’t pay it off. That was a little frustrating to me. They told me, at that point, that I had to have the full amount and everything had to be negotiated. I understand. Obviously, I can’t pay something that’s not negotiated. But, essentially, they’re not allowing me to graduate because I could get the rest of the money. I also get that I have to pay them a fee and I am willing to do that. But if they were to take it and pay these things off, the fee to them essentially has already been paid.
Then, with the last thing that was being negotiated back in June, they said would be done with negotiation the end of July, but it wasn’t. Then they said the end of August but it still wasn’t. I signed a release form and sent it back to them. Now, it’s the end of November, and I haven’t had any update and a final debt on it, so I can’t get the remaining balance, so I can pay my account off.
I switched jobs two months ago and the transition threw me in a loop. I didn’t have the money to make the payment. But I have enough money in there to cover my payments so it’s not my stuff is going to go into jeopardy if I don’t make my payment. I’m just not progressing. However, I got an email this morning saying that my payment didn’t go through. I know because the money is not there. But then at the end of the day, I’m like, “I’m not gonna pay you because you have money!”
In the beginning of December, I’m going to make an extra payment, and then I’ll be back on track with my payments. But, it’s a little frustrating that I can’t pay off certain debts that I could and lower my payment. I don’t feel that they are allowing me to progress to graduate faster unless I upped my monthly payment. But even then, I’m not gonna up my monthly payment ‘til I know the final balance of that last account. Because that makes no sense to me. I’m just paying you money in hopes that at the end, it will be too much, to get a check back. Other than that, they are really good to communicate with. When I call them, for the most part, they’re all super helpful. And I love that I can email in.

I did some research about debt consolidation and after seeing a Freedom Debt Relief TV commercial, I went to go outside and thought, "This is pretty legit." I filled out an application, then a person called me. He was really friendly. He addressed all my concerns and helped me out. Customer service was straightforward, friendly and always willing to help regardless. They tell you as it is. If they get a settlement, they would send you a text or an email. And if you don't answer it within an hour or so, someone will call you. The structure, its setup and the payment are straightforward too. You pay them 200 every month on the statement, but they're honest with you and don't cut any corners. There's an online portal where you can go adjust your payments, make advanced payments, and see your graduation date. You can also estimate stuff. It's dope and detailed.

I'm extremely upset that our LAST debt has been unsettled, and now find out that Discover has sent my debt to their attorneys. I have not been notified yet by their attorneys, only found this out from your customer service representative. We paid off all our debts last December and have been told monthly that this last one would "be resolved in a week" each time I've called. Toby.
