Updated on 09/22/2022: I was paying over $1,000 a month and only making minimum payments. Freedom got me down to 440.00 a month. All I ended up paying is what I owed. I would have paid so much more money in interest. It would have taken me years to pay all of them of. I started my payment plan in 2020 and I'm going to be ending in 2023. If not sooner. I plan on paying over what my minimum payment is so I will graduate sooner. Freedom Debt Financial has given me peace of mind and Hope. I see light at the end of the tunnel.
Original review: I feel so relieved now. Before I enrolled in the program I didn't see any way of paying off this debt. I had hardly any money to live on it was just so stressful. Freedom Debt Financial saved me! I would recommend this program 100&10%!

I signed up w FDR in 2018 to consolidate an Amex and a Chase credit card account. I was promised that after regularly paying a determined fee into my FDR account for a while, FDR would negotiate with the creditor and typically reach a settlement at around 60-70% of the debt consolidated. Not only I got a notification in 2019 at the 11th hour when Amex had served me court papers, that suddenly they couldn’t negotiate with Amex anymore and just dropped me. But I had been advised when I signed up, not to respond to any correspondence the creditors may send. So I had to hire my own lawyer to get a settlement with Amex. The remaining Chase card account with FDR is almost 80% paid off, however, my account still says: "Negotiation on Strategic Hold” and that they "might" negotiate in 5 months from now.
This is unbelievable, I feel like I could have settled way better and faster with a lawyer or myself than basically paying the entire debt off without any action from FDR other than taking a cut as well as their mandatory add-on NLLG, a law group that didn’t do anything when I needed them. Do not ever sign up with Freedom Debt Relief, it's a scheme where only FDR profits. I am very disappointed and feel I fell for a scam.

Would recommend this company 100% for anyone caught up with credit card debt with high interest rates, I feel I’ve got my freedom back! I would always pay more than my minimum due & the amount due would never go down, felt like I was on a roller coaster.

I decided to get a third party to resolve my debt because I had the problem of not getting my pay on time and when one debtor collected it was declined and the following week tried to collect the whole balance and was paid but created a problem for the other scheduled payments. 2 written messages and three verbal calls; and I'm still waiting to see my final enrolled debt to be paid off as requested. Last call said "It would be keyed as a REQUESTED entry," call before that said it could take 30-45 days to pay? Money was added to have enough in the dedicated account, yet automated settlement and no activity on website shows no early attempt at pay off being made. Rating will improve when service is rendered. Still waiting.

Freedom Debt was able reduced payments and in the progress I've learned to handle credit cards. Save a little money and make purchases on what you need and not what you want. Thank you. Rates are far too high, they could charge half as much actually help people and still be profitable. Actually did help a little but, you could not pay your bills and settle for less to the Cc company and basically do the same thing without paying the 30% which actually comes to about 40% when they add the monthly fees.. Anyone can open a checking account for free.

I was out for a month. Couldn’t make the payment that month through the contract I made originally with the program. They said they would make an allowance if I had it something wrong I got harassed by your place seven or eight times. Was not happy if.

Everything is doing wonderful with them. I'm glad I found them. They paid off some of my credit cards already and I have something that they're taking care of. I have paid mostly $2000 a month over my payment, it sometimes seems like the fees and the negotiations were strong at the beginning, but a little lacking now. I guess I was hoping for a little better result, I am not unhappy, but it doesn't seem that the best negotiation always takes place.

I understand monthly charges for taking care of payments. When they also keep a large proportion of the debt it adds up. 1st year FDR has kept more of my $ than they have paid on my bills. I would of been better off paying the bills myself.

I was directed to send the two letters to the lawyer working with you. She sent me an email telling me to send the letters to Freedom Settlement. I did send them a second time but no luck. There wasn't any customer service, there is no help, there was no phone call, there was no chat, there was nothing. Whoever is in charge of your customer service should be fired immediately. You need to rework your whole system for helping your customers.

FDR seemed like they would be able to handle the job that I needed and they did. They have attorneys that handled the settlements and we went for a hardship. It is OK, but I am struggling to make the $712 a month payments, working 2 jobs, and the projection to finish is longer than what I was originally promised. I was just told Nov 2014 when I was told May 2014 at the start when I signed up. One credit card just went legal.

At first I was very pleased with FDR. Then I got sued, which I had been forewarned might happen, so I wasn't as upset as I might have been. I had paid for legal assistance ahead of time and thought everything was handled. That turned out to not be the case. Their rep forgot a really important detail re: how to handle being sued which resulted in defaulting in my response. Ultimately, I ended up taking care of the lawsuit and negotiating my debt all on my own. I realized that I could have done that from the beginning. Lesson learned that I didn't really need FDR to act on my behalf. Still, they have negotiated four of my accounts successfully. I don't hate them, but I lost some faith after their mistake.

Not to happy with how much you charge when you settle a debt. It’s almost as much as the amount you settled. Should be a set amount from the beginning of how much it will cost someone. The time you said in the beginning is not correct either. At least another 2-3 years is added.

I am for the most part very happy that I am with FDR, however I am very unhappy that I receive a 1099 for what the Cc companies feel I have been forgiven, as they add on their penalties for not making payments from the beginning of my sign up and it looks like I am saving money but then I have to pay the government money because I choose to work. Other than that I am so happy to be on the downside of my debt and it has taught me how to stop using my Cc.

This program is definitely not like a program I used about 10 yrs ago. This one is extremely slow. Letting the charge drop off in 7 yrs would be equal to the same results in my opinion. I would choose a different one.

Program takes too long!!! Higher deposit amounts are required for Settlement Negotiations to be Started or Creditors don't get contacted!!! One of our creditors included in our program was apparently known for aggressive collection techniques. Although we signed the aggressive collection waiver, no one explained that this meant the company was going to sue us! When we called the first time, we were told that LPN would take care of it. Nothing happened, when I called back they needed an additional $281 to even have the attorney look at it, we paid. Then still nothing happening. I had to respond to the court and everything myself. Why am I in the program? They did nothing to help. I contacted the creditor and made payment arrangements myself. Spending literally hours on the phone. What a nightmare. I wish we had never enrolled in this program at all.

My graduation date has passed, It took a phone call to get my monthly payment lowered. After several phone calls, the final bill has not been settled even though funds are more than available. Yes, thousands have been saved, but now I feel trapped because the promised graduation date was a farce.
