I had $38,000 of debt and was paying about $1,100 a month and lost all my income in the pandemic. They helped me settle it all for about $28,000 over 48 months at $585 a month. It’s such a relief off my mind. I live with all cash now and it’s so much better.

I cannot begin to state how well this has been working for me and my family. Everything is falling into place and my credit score is improving as payments are being made on time and paid off. I feel like the program is going slower than I thought. The charges and the fees the whole money goes to that instead of the actual payments. I know I agreed upon amount but I didn't think it was going to be too much money. What a program and itself but I'm in it. It is what it is so I want to just finish hopefully soon.

On the day I called for assistance (on the same recurring question for the past 6 months at least) I called 3 times talking to 3 different people who gave me 3 different things to do to settle this issue myself---no help from you. After 50 years of paying everything on time and with an above average credit score, I found myself in a terrible situation with the advent of a Pandemic. I waited some time before I called Freedom because I was embarrassed. Once I did call it was a smooth ride to get myself straightened out. I am on a good path for financial freedom. It may take 36 months but Freedom has done a great job negotiating with my creditors to get me very good results.

I was sent a legal notice in January and was advised to add more funds to my account. I added $3,000 and after 40 days I was sent a court order by American Express. I called and was told that negotiations had not started by Freedom yet and they were still waiting for funds to build up. I was told I would be sent a power of attorney via docusign on Mar 17. I have called numerous times but still have not got an email with the power of attorney.

I wish FDR would have been more open with the fact they could not resolve my debt instead of me finding out when I was sued and served papers. I ended up settling for more than the original debt, which defeated the purpose of the program. Also, my credit dropped over 100 points. Not the results I was hoping for.

Doing alright but some negotiations are slow and not very client friendly. I was expecting some resolutions to be handled more quickly and with less money paid out. I should not have to add funds to my dedicated account, that appears to be mishandled which is not a good thing.

While this program has helped me negotiate my settlements, there is very little way to track how much I’ve paid in and what it’s gone toward. I’ve sent several messages through the ‘Contact Us’ option to inquire about why what I’ve paid in is significantly more than what has been paid out and no one has responded to any of them, leaving me feeling very distrustful at this point.

I didn't know what to do because I was in so much debt. The Better Business Bureau recommended Freedom Debt Relief so I thought it must be okay. Freedom got me back on track to where I need to be in life without claiming bankruptcy. It was perfect for me. I made those payments for four years and every time I made one, it reminded me that I was doing my penance to get out of debt. I did everything I was supposed to and I never missed a payment. I paid a lot of fees but that was part of the program.
There was just one thing I didn't like at the end and was my only disappointment. I had a Home Depot account by Citibank and that was the last one to be settled. Freedom kept telling me that they couldn't find the creditor so they couldn't settle. They didn't try hard enough unless it was a stall tactic to get more money out of me. I had to call Citibank and they told me that they were gonna sell my account off. I was able to work a deal with them by myself. I probably could have done that with all of the other accounts but I would need money to do it.
Other than that, Freedom had a good process and it was easy enough. When I called, they were pretty knowledgeable. I would recommend them. I'm glad I did what I did. My experience taught me a lesson in life. Now, I'm out of debt and I use cash. I would just buy stuff and keep it. I have financial freedom and I'm able to put some money away now and save.

Updated on 09/22/2022: I was paying over $1,000 a month and only making minimum payments. Freedom got me down to 440.00 a month. All I ended up paying is what I owed. I would have paid so much more money in interest. It would have taken me years to pay all of them of. I started my payment plan in 2020 and I'm going to be ending in 2023. If not sooner. I plan on paying over what my minimum payment is so I will graduate sooner. Freedom Debt Financial has given me peace of mind and Hope. I see light at the end of the tunnel.
Original review: I feel so relieved now. Before I enrolled in the program I didn't see any way of paying off this debt. I had hardly any money to live on it was just so stressful. Freedom Debt Financial saved me! I would recommend this program 100&10%!

I signed up w FDR in 2018 to consolidate an Amex and a Chase credit card account. I was promised that after regularly paying a determined fee into my FDR account for a while, FDR would negotiate with the creditor and typically reach a settlement at around 60-70% of the debt consolidated. Not only I got a notification in 2019 at the 11th hour when Amex had served me court papers, that suddenly they couldn’t negotiate with Amex anymore and just dropped me. But I had been advised when I signed up, not to respond to any correspondence the creditors may send. So I had to hire my own lawyer to get a settlement with Amex. The remaining Chase card account with FDR is almost 80% paid off, however, my account still says: "Negotiation on Strategic Hold” and that they "might" negotiate in 5 months from now.
This is unbelievable, I feel like I could have settled way better and faster with a lawyer or myself than basically paying the entire debt off without any action from FDR other than taking a cut as well as their mandatory add-on NLLG, a law group that didn’t do anything when I needed them. Do not ever sign up with Freedom Debt Relief, it's a scheme where only FDR profits. I am very disappointed and feel I fell for a scam.

You have taken out money when I have called to change the amount for the last two months putting my family in a terrible bind. Very unhappy and figuring out what to do about this because every time I call I’m told it’s handled. It’s not!!!

Rates are far too high, they could charge half as much actually help people and still be profitable. Actually did help a little but, you could not pay your bills and settle for less to the Cc company and basically do the same thing without paying the 30% which actually comes to about 40% when they add the monthly fees.. Anyone can open a checking account for free.

I was out for a month. Couldn’t make the payment that month through the contract I made originally with the program. They said they would make an allowance if I had it something wrong I got harassed by your place seven or eight times. Was not happy if.

Everything is doing wonderful with them. I'm glad I found them. They paid off some of my credit cards already and I have something that they're taking care of. I have paid mostly $2000 a month over my payment, it sometimes seems like the fees and the negotiations were strong at the beginning, but a little lacking now. I guess I was hoping for a little better result, I am not unhappy, but it doesn't seem that the best negotiation always takes place.

I understand monthly charges for taking care of payments. When they also keep a large proportion of the debt it adds up. 1st year FDR has kept more of my $ than they have paid on my bills. I would of been better off paying the bills myself.

I was directed to send the two letters to the lawyer working with you. She sent me an email telling me to send the letters to Freedom Settlement. I did send them a second time but no luck. There wasn't any customer service, there is no help, there was no phone call, there was no chat, there was nothing. Whoever is in charge of your customer service should be fired immediately. You need to rework your whole system for helping your customers.

The experience has been pretty good. The structured settlements were done in a timely manner. The overall process has a lot of fees associated with it and the settlement fees were a bit high but that is my only complaint.
