I decided to try somebody and the people at Freedom Debt Relief explained stuff to me. Now, I’m just waiting to get back with them because they’re negotiating the rest of my stuff for me then I’ll be paying them all. I've been working with them for a year and in terms of customer service, everything is okay. I just make my payment every month.

Signing up with FDR was pretty straightforward. I've been with them for about a year and I've been getting emails from Credit Karma saying that some of my debts have been getting taken care of.

I am in need of anything that was paid towards American Express. I have received a summons for garnishment and as far as I know, this was paid. I also have 2 of my 3 credit reports which shows one of the accounts FDR is working to get a settlement. I show this as written off only on one of my credit reports unless I missed it. One of my creditors from the credit report was not added to the account from the original phone call and it should have been and now I am going to be charged more money to add an account that the gentleman I spoke to originally should have added to begin with. From our experience since signing up with Freedom Debt Relief is very positive. All that they relay to you is very accurate and true. We are happy with their service to help us get out of debt. We are still in progress with them to get all our credit cards paid off. It is nice to have the dedicated account so you don't have to juggle the family budget to pay the bills. Yes, we are paying for the service but they have reduced our total due by a large amount so we are happy. The National Litigation Legal Group is great in case the creditors try to come after you for their money. We did have to use this service as well as one of our credit card company took us to the legal action. They did the negotiations and we had a very positive result.

It's been less than two years and I am seeing a bright light at the end of the tunnel. It's hard to explain in words the emotional roller coaster I was going through. Fairly happy but didn't pay attention to the fact debt not paid considered income and dealing with IRS has been a nightmare. So now I have had to deal with setting up payment plan with the IRS and incurring late fees.

The company takes a advantage of vulnerable people in trouble. The customer service people all say something different.. They also try to get you take a loan which is a moneymaker for them. The interest rates are off the wall crazy expensive.. I will be glad when I can get rid of them... All my money goes to them.. They are very deceiving and great sellers...

When I first joined Freedom Debt Relief company I had three credit cards and they were not maxed out but they were quickly climbing because of the high interest rates that I never would have been able to get caught up. I came into the program with around $25,000 in debt. I will be graduating the program with over half of that paid off. They do an exceptional job negotiating the debts down by over 50%, that I couldn't complain about anything. After my first year in the program my credit already started going back up and it's had the most positive effect on my life and credit.

Consolidated bills. The representative (Jaime) that has been working with me was very professional, understanding, polite and explained the program very thoroughly. The debt was mounting and we looked into a couple of other ones but Freedom Debt Relief was at the right place at the right time, and I went that way. My husband said that we could've done this with somebody else so I took all the debt on me. FDR took care of everything during the enrollment process. I gave them my debt and then, they gave me a number I should give them. They let it pile up and they negotiated with the creditor. I got a few calls and I just turned them over to FDR. I didn't realize that when they settled, you would get a 10.99 fee and you would have to claim that debt on your income tax. So that was like a blow and I didn't know that was coming. Still, I'm happy with them so far and I can't complain.
I'm happy too with the Freedom debt negotiator but not with the lawyer that they gave me to fight this case. I have tried to contact them, and I never get a hold of them. I could get through but never get a call back. So I hope everything's going okay. FDR has been negotiating for a year on this case and whenever I've called, they’ve talked me through. I've only got one problem and we've been fighting it for a year and it was like it slipped through the cracks type of thing. Hopefully, they'll get it all settled. If FDR didn't help me, I would've never made it. We were going down the tube and it was like you were borrowing from Peter to pay Paul. It kept getting worse and worse but FDR helped. Now, I kinda watch what I spend better and trying to stay within the limits. I cut up my credit cards and I only got one credit card left, and I'm trying harder.

I've had some friends who had gone through and used Freedom Debt Relief so it was basically more of the referrals from a friend that made me decide to use them. It was pretty simple and easy to get started. You just send them the information of what creditors you have and they would do all the work for it. I've been with them for about two years now and so far, everything has been excellent. My credit score has gone up from just going through the different credits and the negotiating that they've done. So I've been able to minimize the amount of debt that I have and actually got to work on getting my credit score higher. The payment plan is perfect as well. It's working out great.

The representatives have answered all of my questions and they’ve been patient with me. But having all that money taken out gets me upset. I don’t make that much and it really gets to me. But I guess it has to be done. It was on the internet that I found Freedom Debt Relief one day and because I knew I had to do something, I thought I’d take a dive at it. Everything is working out well now, finally. They’ve settled three accounts and now they’re working on two more. So it’s gonna take a while to get it done.

Everything is good with Freedom Debt Relief. I’m able to pay the debt off. Before, I would have five different cards with minimum payments of $200 and I couldn’t make it. It’s helping me out because now I’m able to make it. I actually went with somebody else before and practically, they were the middle man, so I just kinda hopped over them and went straight to you guys. I’ve already settled with one card and then right now one of my highest cards, we settled on that. So I just have to keep paying into my Freedom Debt Relief account, and as long as I make my payments, it’ll be paid off in a couple of years.

The lady I talked to from Freedom Debt Relief was really nice. She called me back and she let me know about the program. I thought about it for a while and then I finally did it. I'm glad that I did. The enrollment process is very easy. I did everything on the phone. I told them who I wanted on there. They ran the report and they sent all the paperwork over the phone, and it was really fast.
I feel comfortable with Freedom. Everybody that I've talked to has been knowledgeable and helpful. All of them have been excellent and very nice and everything seems to be going pretty smoothly. They go over pretty much everything with you. Your credit takes a hit at first, but at least you’re trying to pay it back. You don’t have to file bankruptcy. I just got so swamped and I was drowning just trying to keep up with those cards.
I've been in the program for over a year. I was making my normal monthly payments and then I qualified for a consolidated loan from a company that was working with Freedom. So they gave me a consolidated loan to pay them off faster. It's a simple interest loan and that’s speeding up the process now. They have money to settle. I had four of the creditors on there and they already settled two. I’m pretty relieved that the loan came through and they’re gonna take care of it. Once my debts are all settled, I'll just end up having to pay that consolidated loan off for four years. So by the time I retire, I'll be debt-free. It's a little bit higher, but I'm already paying that and it will help my credit. If anybody is gonna choose a debt relief program, Freedom is a good one.

I'm happy with the outcome, a little tense about how long it's taking, but I'm adjusting. Still having creditors calling me, but I just dont response back to them, also my credit score is real low right now. For the most part I'm very glad to have Freedom Debt company helping me. I suppose for the most part I am not unhappy with the results of this debt relief program, just not really all that happy either. And I think the FDR representatives did a pretty good job of explaining the program to me when I signed up. They did discuss fees with me but the main fees that were discussed with me are the monthly ones, the NLLG and your monthly service fee. That only amounts to around $20 a month. The settlement fees were mentioned and discussed a little bit but at no time did anyone explain to me how much these settlement fees were going to run. I have not reviewed your program to date because I was wanting to wait long enough to where I could see results.
As of today I have paid in a little better than $4000 in deposits to my dedicated account. You have paid off three accounts to the tune of approximately $1700-$1800. There have been two or three payments made to a fourth new account that you have negotiated a settlement for which might bring payments to creditors amounting to around $2000 to date. Yet I have paid in $4000. So I have paid settlement fees in almost the same amount that you have paid to the creditors. So overall if you look at this, you have to ask if I wouldn’t have been better off just making payment to the creditors myself. Because your settlement fees were a lot more than I ever expected them to be.
In some cases the settlement fee comes close to equaling the actual settlement amount. So you can’t claim you settled for 50% of what I owe the creditor and then turn around and charge me a settlement fee for 50% of what I owe the creditor. There is no win-win situation there. And I would say the only thing that didn’t get discussed thoroughly with me during the process prior to me signing for the program was the settlement fees. Now I know you guys are in business to make some money otherwise you wouldn’t be doing it. But I also thought you were there to help a lot of us get our debts paid down, the purpose of your program. So it just seems to me like your settlement fees should be looked at a little bit more carefully because in a way you’re taking advantage of us.
You make it look like you’re settling these accounts for half of what we owe them. Actually in a lot of cases the amount we owed the creditor when we entered the program Isn’t what we ended up owing them. Due to late payment fees and a bunch of other fees to the creditor because of the delay in getting a negotiation done increased the amount we owed them. Some accounts that I had never even made a late payment to in all the time I was a customer. So after you tack on another several hundred dollars to the balance that I owed them when I entered your program, now you’re negotiating a settlement for a larger amount than what I originally owed the creditor. And then tell me you settled it for 50% of that amount when in actuality you’re not settling it for 50% of the original amount I owed the company.
I wish in some ways that I had thought this through a bit better because I’m not very happy with the progress right now. After paying you guys $4000 I think I would have expected this process to be a bit further along. Out of the eight accounts I enrolled, only one was excessive and that was to One Main for a little more than $6000. The rest of my accounts were for the most part less than $2000 and in some cases less than $1500. Anyway, I’m not unhappy with any of the actions or interactions I’ve had with any of your representatives or employees. They have all been very polite and helpful. But if you are honestly interested in trying to help people reduce their debt, I think you seriously need to look at your settlement fees. Because, I’m sorry, I believe they are quite excessive.

I was scammed for $100,000 in credit cards and money. I bought gift cards and I went on with it for about a week. Then all of a sudden, I said that this was not legit. The scamming first started a couple of years ago and I was in horrible debt. I went online about seeing debt relief and then Freedom Debt Relief popped up. So, I called them and I got involved with them. They’ve already reduced a couple of my debts. I was even sued by Bank of America and the litigation company or attorney worked on that for me, which was great. So, FDR has given me a lot of relief.
I have to pay $668 a month and I also had a line of credit at my regular bank, and I didn’t want that involved with this because I have deposited for my pension. I kept them out so I have to pay another $319. I pay about $1,000 a month but compared to what I would’ve had to pay if they didn’t reduce everything, I could never have gotten out of this. It’s supposed to be finished by the end of next year. I’m very satisfied with how FDR is working for me. The reps from FDR are awesome and anytime I’ve had problems, I’d call them and they couldn’t do enough to help you. I told family about it and I would tell people to go to Freedom Debt Relief and give them the number. I’ve been with it now for almost two years. FDR takes care of what I owe, no interest, and pay a percentage of what they need to after taking their own fee out. So, I’m very happy with them.

I talked to my sister and one of her friends was using Freedom Debt Relief, and she wished she had done it long before. I took her word and I talked to a young lady from Freedom. She was very nice to me and she went on and set me up, and I've been going forward ever since. They handled my account very well. Two debts have been settled, and I have 10 more to go. I just started back in September and I'm sending in $402 a month. I know that’s not a large amount. I thought maybe I was gonna be able to up it, but with my other bills and insurances, I can't. I will send in more when I can. This month, I sent in an extra $100. I will continue to do that as long as I have some money coming in.
Freedom has been very easy to work with. It’s just that the creditors keep calling. Walmart said it’s going to charge off today. It says, “We’re required to close and charge off this account in less than 30 days if no payment is made. But it’s not too late to work with you, to work out something before your payment due date on March 12th.” So, that’s the only one I've got we’re talking about a charge off right now. I've spoken to someone there in customer service because they told me that’s what they normally do. If you're looking into a debt relief program, be patient and don’t get upset. Sometimes, I don’t answer my phone because I know it’s someone calling. I don’t want to get frustrated. I have migraines and I will have a headache come on in a heartbeat. Also, don’t be fooling around.

We have two accounts that they're still negotiating with. They've been turned over to the collection agency so maybe it'll go quicker now. But Freedom has successfully negotiated with four of my accounts and the payment to be made to them. They are being paid now. The process has gone very smoothly. Their reputation and the ease with which I was able to enroll in the program made me go with them. Also, even though they would take a significant portion out, the terms of it were still very competitive with others. The underwriting process didn't take very long. Whenever I’ve contacted someone, they've been helpful and friendly, and they do tell me accurate advice and information. So far, I'm pleased.

Freedom had a booklet and that was very well put together. It’s something I needed and helpful to me. Also, I felt very comfortable with the people I spoke with. They always gave me a number where I can reach them. They were people that I knew I could count on. I kept getting letters from some of my debtors and I had to find out about it so I called them. Every time I called, they would say that had been paid off so I felt very comfortable. And they got me a quote I could afford every month. I’m on a fixed income and I couldn’t do a whole lot other people could do. He assured me that what I was paying was what they felt I could handle and I have handled it. I feel very confident with that and I just feel very comfortable in the plan I’m in with him. I seem to have a little bit of extra money left at the end of the month.

I saw Freedom Debt Relief's advertisement and I called them. I have been with them for a year now and they said the program might take three or four years. I send in $300 a month into my checking account, then they take that out and they're paying whatever they're supposed to pay. But I have to call them because I received something from a lawyer for me to make out and send it to her. However, FDR never notified me about this. Other than that, some of my debts have been settled and so far, everything's been fine.

FDR has been good to me. They did what they said they would do. However, they kept switching me to different people. They sent me over to another guy, and he tried to talk to me. I missed his calls and he missed my calls. He left emails which I got. Then, when he approved the loan, that was it. They told me to use my computer to download the final approval, the contract, and how much I have to pay a month, but when I go to log in my user name and my password, it rejects it. I tried everything I know. I’ve even tried to reboot it and rechanged the password. You try to go by a name and put the things that’s gotta be in it, and it still rejects it. Before, I’ve been using the site, and I’d get everything I needed.
FDR could get it to where you can get the password from them and find out what’s going on in your loan. Right now, they tell me how much I gotta pay twice a month. Then, all of a sudden, I can’t get them to find out when they started and if they did take this month’s payment out. If they did, then I ain’t gonna pay them ‘cause it’d be three payments out in one month, and that’s no way. I’d be strapped heavy. Besides that, I don't have any gripes. It’s just the lousy communications on some people’s part. I wish I had my communications a lot straighter and easier to get to. They're always drawn, or they're never there. There’s a timeframe real bad and that throws you off. They don't specify times and you could be home, waiting, but you miss them ‘cause you can’t stay home all the time waiting for that phone call.

I had 11 accounts and they’ve done well. There’s a relief that they’re getting this down and my credit score has went up a little bit more. When you come from being in a 720 and go down to a 4 something, that was devastating for me. The person that I talked to, at first, we went back and forth because it was a scary thing for me. I wasn't sure what it was, but he explained it in detail and he made me feel comfortable. I started my first payment the end of June of last year and they’ve settled three of my accounts. One is paid off and the other two are settled. It’s a 24-month span but it’s a small amount.
The experience is still stressful because the bi-weekly pay period is steep, but I gotta do what I gotta do to get it done. So far, it’s been good, except for the fees. I thought it was an overall fee, but it’s per the amount that you initially register in when you first do it. By the time I did it, the interest has accrued on from not paying, but they’re not charging me for that. Another company approached me recently and their fee would have been less. I pay a 1,000 and something down and it would have been six something every two weeks, but their interest rate on the fees were higher. One way or the other, I'll be paying the same thing, so I stayed with what I got.

Freedom Debt Relief has been really good. Their rep, Tyler, helped set it up and if I had any problems, I would email him and he would email me right back. They’ve already settled one of my accounts. That took bout six months and I was very satisfied with that. The payment plan they gave me was excellent. When they did the first settlement, I had a question about how they had allocated the payments. I called the 800 number in the email that I got and I asked the question whether my monthly payment to them would go up since the payments on the first settlement were going to be above and beyond what I was already paying them. But they said that it would come out of the monthly payment that I sent them already, which was good to know.

They are very concerned for the resolution of your debt and try to resolve it in your favor. I do wish we had heeded the warning of credit unions not willing to compromise.... that resolution was a disappointment but other than that the other creditors have been willing to compromise and it has helped us tremendously! Overall very satisfied. I only have one complaint. My husband and I did borrow some money from a relative to help knock this out, When I called I specifically ask that it go toward my largest debt as they called me 20 times a day. That didn't happen. I called on 3 occasions and was assured the would start negotiations. We are almost a year into program and they just negotiated with a collection agency. The percentage saved on this particular bill was quite a bit lower than other accounts. I just wish I would have someone communicate that they weren't going to settle this debt when I requested.

I now pay over $400 more a month than I was quoted with. So, I pay more than I did before entering this program. I was never told I could get sued by my credit card companies. I have currently been sued twice and waiting for the last one to sue me also. Things are way worse than they were before.

I had gotten into a terrible financial hardship and they helped me get everything taken care of. They're at the last account. It’s being paid now because I don't have any more deposits. They just have to send the payment. I dealt with multiple debt consultants and each one was very friendly. The program was set up initially with the payment plan. But if I needed to modify, they were there to assist me. Everything worked great. I liked that I didn’t have to deal with all the creditors.

Freedom Debt Relief is fantastic. I did a lot of legwork on my own, but I sent letters and emails to the creditors and gave them Freedom's information, and they stopped. I’ve only had one thing where somebody is trying to sue me. Freedom's legal department has stepped in and I haven’t heard another word from them. So, I’m assuming it’s being taken care of.
People need to realize that there is some work involved on their end, but if they’re willing to do it and they’re above-and-beyond honest with everything, it’s a wonderful experience. I was going through so many things. My mother is 96 in an assisted living. I had an uncle that was living with us that passed away, and my husband’s been sick for 20 years. It’s just I couldn’t do it anymore as hard as I tried. And so, I saw Freedom and I thought I'd give it a try. It has been a lifesaver for me.

I called one of the other companies to begin with. They’re based out of Plano, Texas. They were more like used car salesman. They were pushy and rude. And then I started reading about FDR and the other things on the Better Business Bureau, and Freedom Debt Relief had a lot better reviews than anybody else so I went with them. They’ve done a good job. But they should look at the amount they say you should pay in a month a lot harder because I’m barely scraping by month-to-month now because of that amount that I’m paying in that account. Also it’s much easier to call them and speak to somebody. I figured that out because that dashboard thing they have online where you’re supposed to go and do everything with, is kind of screwy and confusing. I don’t think it works. Lost account numbers and faxed letter mix ups. I have been contacted seven times for account numbers being incorrect. On Feb.27 I received an E-Mail stating that you received my letter from ARS, however, you did not see that account enrolled. You E-Mailed a copy of the letter to me. It is not even the letter that I sent to you.

It's been less than a year and I am almost debt free! I'm excited I had the opportunity to take care of this much faster than first planned. That means I'm closer to starting to rebuilt my credit. Although I felt skeptical about this and afraid of the very low credit score and negative impact it did on my credit, I'm glad I took the chance. Paying things off feels like such a relief. My stress levels have dropped and I am feeling confident that before I know it, I will have good credit again. I will not give 5 stars yet because I haven't finished the program but so far it's been a great experience.

Sometimes app is a little confusing but overall they have done a good job. Wish I could speed up process. Think the fees have cost more than originally said. I thought there was a max in amount they could charge apparently I haven’t reached that.

I cannot recommend this service. I came to FDR in a state of desperation, like many folks do. And while I'm close to being in much better financial shape now and this company helped me to get (nearly) there, I can't help but find this a disappointing and disheartening experience. In the end I'll be paying nearly the entire amount that I owed the credit card companies. The real issue I have with this company is their lack of transparency. Last year on their client dashboard they had a countdown of deposits remaining and it was getting down towards zero. With about 6 deposits to go, this section no longer appearded on the dashboard. When I called them about it, they told me I had 9 months of twice monthly deposits to go- which was certainly a very disappointing thing to hear. They seem much more interested in getting their fees than giving you accurate information about how long this process will take. I'm very disappointed in this company.

Freedom Debt Relief has been okay. I’m not terribly excited about the idea that when an account gets settled, they need to get paid first before the account starts to get paid. Their fees should be broken up. Every once in a while, I put off a payment for a few days. At the end of last year, I couldn’t make one payment and I had some accounts that were due for payment, and I only put off the payment for three days. I had $900 in my account and they kept contacting me that this was gonna put the accounts that were being paid in jeopardy, this and that, but they had a fee coming in for something that had just been settled, and they needed to collect their fee before waiting three days so I could have all the money.
The accounts eventually got paid as well three days later, but their fees couldn’t wait. They had to get paid first before even my regular payments got taken care of. That didn’t seem right. I’m nearing the end. I probably have another year or maybe a little more of payments and I’ll be done with it. Overall, when I call, everybody is really nice and polite. But I don't like that they wanna get their fees taken care of before anything.

My experience when signing up was awesome. The representatives were great. Although I've been barely doing the payment plan, I've been making it so far and the program has been working great. Original Review: We are very happy with Freedom Debt Relief program (FDR). In relatively short time half of our credit cards debt is been revolved. That's fantastic. Wish we started earlier. Very friendly and helpful customer service too. The client dashboard is awesome. Very easy to upload documents online and to keep on track. The videos are very helpful for peace of mind and to understand the process. And the best part is that you can add or remove credit cards to/off the FDR program any time. We initially decided to keep a few credit cards for emergency or travel but then it was easy to add them back on.
We recommend FDR program to all our friends and family. Great business that actually helps the client rather than trying to take your money. And becoming debt free in only few years. It's absolutely fantastic. Creditors don't want you to be debt free because they are losing big money. For example $50k debt becomes $150k in 15-20 years if you only make the minimum payments to the creditors. But with this FDR program in 3-5 years you are debt free and you only pay ~ $50k back, instead of 3 times more. So glad we found this amazing FDR program. Freedom Debt Relief program helped me enormously. I have been on the program for a year and will be debt-free, 3 years this October. Just in time for my retirement. (The credit card companies would not lower my interest rates even being a loyal and longtime customer.) One even wanted to take me to small claims court and the FDR program includes lawyers for you. I went with FDR because it seemed to me like Freedom Debt Relief was gonna benefit me most and it was just easy to talk to them and easy to use. The first person I talked to explained things well to me and I just decided that was the company that would help me. It was made clear to me what I was getting into when I first signed up, and then I’m free to get on my dashboard anytime I want to and I could ask questions there and it tells me what my status is all the time. At the time, it was really a lifesaver for me because I turned in two debts to them, and combined, the monthly payment was quite large. And so to get it reduced to the payment that I now pay, it was such a help to me.

I like that Freedom Debt Relief didn't take their fee upfront. They enrolled whatever debt I wanted to enroll, and they negotiate settlements on my behalf. I pay into them biweekly. Settlements are negotiated, they pay the creditors and take their fee. Also, I'm covered by their National Litigation Law Group in case if someone sues me. Before they negotiate a settlement, the National Litigation Law Group handles that on my behalf.
I've been in the program for quite a while. Initially, they pulled my credit report and we went through and enrolled my debt, and they emailed me the documentation to sign and email back to them, and that was it. I was comfortable with the program. They told me what I needed to pay monthly and broke it up over I have to pay them however often I get paid, which is biweekly. So, they did it biweekly. I had enrolled with it prior, and then I had to drop out because it's so expensive. You have to pay biweekly, but I also have a lot of debt.
The service has been fine. They've negotiated quite a few settlements for me. Since working with Freedom Debt Relief, I can sleep at night now. I don't have creditors banging down my doors. Bankruptcy wasn't an option for me at the time. If I could file bankruptcy, I would file bankruptcy. There's no ifs, ands or buts about that, but that's not an option for me. This is the next best thing to do.
Chris is my consultant. I've only had contact through email but I have had to call them in the past. There was one month where I had something come up and I couldn't afford to pay them the full biweekly payment at one point. So, I had to call them and ask them to skip that payment, which they did do, but everything is posted on their website. So, you have a client portal that you log in to and you send your questions through there or email. If you wanna increase your payments, you increase it through their website. If you have something that you wanna add to your program, you email them the account information.

I heard someone mention Freedom Debt Relief so I looked it up. I said that it was rated well and that was when I made a call. Things are hard for me right now because of the money, but it’s doable and really working. At first, for a few months, the calls and letters were ongoing. But now, it has passed. It’s quiet and I’m not getting any more calls from all the debt people that I owe. My son just got on Freedom Debt Relief a week or two ago and I’m gonna get some money from him because I was able to help him get through. It was also what I was going through.

My experience has been great with Freedom Debt and they are doing what they are supposed to. Their reps have been very good. But I'm gonna need to call them as I don't know where I stand. I have to find out how much money is in the account as I have no idea. I’m about dumb as dirt when it comes to anything electronic so I haven’t accessed my online account and probably won’t. But we’ve been paying Freedom and it started at $400 a month. That was for a year. I had to change it to 200 and that was for another year. Now we’re back to 400 again. I know they settled one account so that leaves three. The three accounts are all like $9500 and they are all pretty substantial accounts. There’s one that’s just a little over $7,000. I don't think Freedom's had any offers to settle them and I’m thinking Freedom's gonna have to collect more money so they can at least offer them half.

Everything is fine with my experience with Freedom Debt Relief. I did a review of the collection agencies online and FDR was rated the highest. Their reps were very informative and answered all of my questions without saying, "I don't know." They work with you and they settle on an amount. Then I see how much the monthly payment's gonna be. And then when I looked at the payment history, I saw a lot of fees popping up that I really couldn't find any explanation for, but I just shrugged it off after a couple of years. It didn't really bother me then.

I've been with FDR for two years and everything's going well. I'm just seeing if I can knock down my payment a little lower because I am paying 500 and something dollars a month, and I live in California so it's a little high. But I've got two accounts closed and they've been very helpful and very responsive with all my questions and concerns. Also they weren't asking too many questions like all the other people, "Type in your email, type in what you owe." It's just, "Give us a call. We'll answer question," type of thing. So there wasn't too much waste of my time and all these emails. It’s more one-on-one. Their dashboard has also been very helpful and very easy to read. There's never really long waits and everyone's very polite.

I am somewhat satisfied, I thought it would help improve my credit, when in actuality it didn't. My Discover card which was in the program went into collections, and I was about to have a judgement against me. I would to liked to be informed by Freedom Debt that they could not reach a settlement and I personally would have tried to worked with Discover.

When we contacted Freedom Debt Relief we were unsure of what we would see. We've been suffering for about a year and a half after we were burned out in the Camp Fire November 8, 2018. We have been kind of robbing Peter to pay Paul using credit cards and taking deals like no interest for 18 months then 24% from then on. Everyone at Freedom Debt Relief is always polite. And the people I've worked with have always been very nice. Shoutouts to their professionalism, patience, and helpfulness. My payment didn't overwhelm me, but my bills have been getting paid and my debt has been going down. I'm gonna have it paid off by October. However, I have to call them to ask them if I can lower my payment because it's too much. It's up to 320 a month now, and I need it back to about 220 a month. When I checked on Freedom Debt Relief, I thought it would be my advantage to go with them. And at the time, they were the only ones I knew of. The rep kept up with me and told me about the different things that were happening, how everything would work, and how they would manage to take care of my bills. They also told me how to counteract any phone calls or mail that I got while I was in the process of getting set up. They explained things to me very thoroughly and helped me out tremendously. I like that they knew about my dilemma and what I had to do. The service was very good. They always contact me if there’s something that I need to take care of or to look into. They also tell me how to go about doing it. I’m almost out of my debt and I’ve only got about another year to go and I should be free. I have been enrolled in this program for over one year. I am fairly satisfied with the results to date. I am somewhat disappointed in a couple of areas. First the initial contact person was extremely helpful but underplayed the deliverance of a form 1099 from those who forgave a portion of my debt. I believe in most cases it is mandatory for debtors to provide the IRS with these forms and this should be clearly stated as part of the enrollment preview. If you do not include this as income they will penalize you. FDR does point out that their is a form that may allow you to be excluded and your accountant, if you have one, should be made aware of this. As the reason for joining the program should be the same as that required on the exclusion form, FDR should help, if not fill out this form for participants.
The second issue is the negotiation process seems to be less than vigorous. I know it was explained to me that certain debtors don't negotiate very well or not at all. The reduction in specific debts should at least include the elimination of all tacked on penalties and interest that was added on to the balance. As I mentioned I am ok with the program to date and will continue with my monthly payments until all the enrolled debt is taken care of.

I called my creditors and they would work with me, so I kept paying them. I tried to file bankruptcy but I couldn't do that because they were gonna take my car. So I kept searching and searching. I wanted the best that there was and it’s Freedom. I was skittish about doing the process but when I finally contacted Freedom Debt Relief, I spoke with Casey and he was so wonderful to me. So I went ahead and went on to do it.
Everybody I had spoke with was very friendly and they helped me tremendously as far as financial-wise. I only got four more settlements for them to close, but one of mine has been resolved and the other three are under structure. One is being targeted negotiation right now, which I had spoke with somebody about the other day. They told me that the one that’s targeted right now is gonna go through, but the other ones are probably gonna be leaning towards the end of the year because they're waiting for me to build up my funds.

When I first signed up, I worked with one rep and she was good. If I have issues, FDR is pretty quick to respond by email. They also had lower monthly payments, which was why I decided to use them. I'm using them for my credit card. And I like that that my bills are getting paid and that my credit score is going back up. They do a great job and take care of everything for me. I just have to send them a piece of paper every now and then.

FDR's customer service is terrific. They helped me do everything I needed to do. And every time I call and I have a question, they always answer it for me. I was making a $103 payment every two weeks. However, my check came at different dates so I called FDR. The rep asked my why I was making two payments. And I said that was the way it was put to me. She switched it to make it one whole payment of 206 on the date that I asked her. My daughter-in-law used FDR before, which was what told me to use them. At first, I was afraid because I thought I wasn’t gonna be able to make the payments, but they worked with me and here I am, almost through.

I was extremely misled when it came to my debt consolidation. It was explained to me that all I needed to do was continue to make my monthly payments and they would negotiate ALL of my debts. I came to find out that I did not have enough money in my account to negotiate a debt and I had to do so on my own. I asked explicitly about this exact situation and was explained to me otherwise. When reaching out for answers, everyone I spoke to seemed to beat around the bush and ultimately did not seem like anyone was genuine or actually willing to help with my situation. My credit is now in the gutters and this has been of minimum help for me to be successful for my financial future.

This is all new and unfamiliar to me. I started with FDR about a year ago. First year went pretty smoothly. Whenever my husband or I had a question customer service was generally helpful. We had a special circumstance this past December. We received a gift of $6k and decided to put it towards our FDR account to speed up our program. At that point we had 3 debts. One resolved, one in process, and one pending negotiations. I called in December and spoke with a customer svc rep and expressed to her that we wanted to use the $6k to accelerate our program and since it was more than enough to cover the current debt in process plus its fees could we do a lump sum settlement? She said yes and that she would forward the request to her manager. She also said that should jump start negotiations on our final debt.
We got excited because we were moving along at a good pace and might be done sooner than thought. She advised to us to call back in early January for an update. Well January rolls around and I called because we didn't see the Citibank debt for $5286 closed out yet. I spoke with a Jared in customer service and he said, "Oh we don't do lump sum settlements." What??? I explained my previous conversation and he then put me on hold to speak with someone. He came back to the line and said, "I'm sorry we must have some program updates. You can request a lump sum settlement." I forward the request to my manager. He said wait about 2 weeks and call back for an update.
I waited 3 weeks and called at the beginning of February. I spoke with another representative who said they would transfer me to Jared's manager. They sent me to voicemail for a woman who was out of office. Coincidentally 2 hours later we received an offer for our 3 debt with Barclay. We accepted it at that time. I waited until the following Monday for Jared's manager to call me back and we never got a call back.
On Tuesday 2/18 I called again and spoke with a gentleman and explained everything that happened up to that point. I expressed I wanted to speak to a manager because we were not getting any clear answers and nothing had been done. He put me on hold and spoke with someone on the escalations team. They told him there was nothing that could be done for me. That we had been given wrong info all along and that there would be no lump sum settlement and that was because we had to have both the Citi and Barclay accounts in progress and then both accounts would have to have enough money in to pay both off in a lump sum settlement. Again I asked to speak with a manager.
I was sent to Anna ** on the leadership team. She advised that there some cases where a lump sum settlement can be done on a single account. I explained to her that we were in the process of trying to purchase a truck for my husband and that had we known back in December that this was the way this was going to go we wouldn't have tried to accelerate the program and used the $6k we gave FDR as a cash payment for a vehicle instead of trying to get out of debt quicker. She said she could help us and she would contact her manager for the lump sum request on Citi only. She said she would also provide coaching to all the reps we spoke with previously to make sure they were giving correct info. In the meantime she would have to defer the offer on the Barclaycard. I said that was fine.
We had wanted the citi card paid off since December. We would work on quickly building the account back up to renegotiate with Barclay. Anna advised we could call with any questions and that while she couldn't take a call directly she would call when she had a break in her day. I have tried to reach her 3 x since 2/18 with no response. Today is 2/27/20. I have now been on hold for 40 min waiting to speak with a manager and have been passed around the escalations team 2x. Hoping for results.

I’m not satisfied that Freedom Debt Relief is working as well as they can. I saw them online and they seemed decent. I said I would try them. But knowing what I know now, I might have tried somebody else. They tried to put me over to a bank that was gonna take over my debt but I was gonna end up paying more in the end than I had started out owing. That's not making me happy. I want my bills paid at what price I owe. I’m real worried.
They also told me if I can find a good price and I wanted to pay it off, to pay it off. But what’s gonna happen to the money I’m giving them? Are they gonna give me back the difference? They need to improve their communication and the way they deal. I have not been happy. I can pay off one of the bills if I had to. It was an 8000-dollar bill. They had it down $4000, which may be better than what we’re gonna get for it. But now, they're offering me two. So what are they gonna do? They took out my money for what they planned on using and I don't know how they got that amount. Are they gonna give me back the 2,000 between the two and the four that I could get it for? They don't seem to be very clear on what they're saying.
Also, I thought that once I hired them, that would be the end. I know FDR is only taking out so much but I thought they had money to back them up. If they could pay off my bills then I would pay them off. But that has not happened. I've paid off one bill exactly for $2,000 which I could have paid myself. The rest of my debt has not been paid off and the companies are still sending me bills. They send me one a week, every week. They also go online and send me a letter. They have even sent me an overnight special delivery, all kinds of things, and so have some of the others. One of the companies has even put my account into the hands of a receiver. Now, it’s more money. I have had so many threatening letters from all the companies. They want their money.
I can’t understand why Freedom Debt Relief can’t stop this. It kinda worries me. Freedom Debt Relief keeps telling me that the companies are doing that because they know they're gonna have to reduce the money in a snap. But I don't understand that. To some degree, yes but at some point, it should stop. It shouldn't be ongoing since the very beginning, every single week for one or two of the companies. But outside of that, FDR is doing all right.
They took off one bill and I thought that they were supposed to be giving $500 a month to each bill. I had five bills that were outstanding and I was having a hard time paying. Now, it’s gonna be worse because my daughter has cancer and I’m trying to help out in that situation. FDR has been taking out $513 a month from my debit card since last June so I’m expecting a little more from them, even a little more response or information.

My husband and my daughter were afraid that the program with Freedom wasn’t gonna work out. But we’re practically done now. We just have two more to finish off and I’ve been pleased with what Freedom Debt Relief has done. Any time that you call, they are able to answer whatever your questions are. The rep that I spoke to initially said that if I ever had any questions, I could call on him in terms of directing me to if I needed to go to anyone specifically. When I called to ask them specifically about something, they would look through my record and verify it and we’d come to an agreement of what was gonna be next. They were also caring every time.
The payment plan was based on how much Freedom felt was gonna be needed to have available to begin and continue working. I was able to pay some extra money and we worked it out to where it looked like I had pretty much the amount that was gonna be needed in the long term. So, the amount that I had to pay every month was dropped down to just $25 a month. I just pay that minimum to make sure that it shows that I’m still in the program ‘cause if there’s no activity on the bank part, their system stops. I've been in the program since 2018. Once you understand the process that they take, it makes it easier to understand what’s going on. Also, it’s not a necessary contract that you can’t break. If you feel like the program is going too slow and decide you don't wanna continue, you can stop the program anytime.

Freedom gave me a timeline and they were able to give me some kind of relief for my month-to-month bills. They were very friendly and very professional. They told me exactly what I was getting into and what to expect. So I knew ahead of time before I made up my mind to go with them after they explained the whole program. Their website is very user-friendly and gives you an idea of where your money is going and what’s getting paid off. It’s really simple to use. Their legal team is really good too, so I didn’t have to go to court. I just told them what was going on and I gave them a power of attorney to handle it and they did.
They’re doing a pretty good job and I'm quite happy with them. I'm looking forward to graduating from the program itself because nobody wants to be in debt for the rest of their lives. But before anyone jumps into this program, they should make sure that they know that their credit score is gonna suffer, and then they’re gonna have to build it back up.

Updated on 03/02/2022: Its has been a slow process, And I have paid so many fees as I have saved. But it has put me on the right track back to good credit. Was told it would take about 3-4 years to complete. It looks like it's going to be around 6-7 years. I have made every payment and never skipped any.

I have made several phone calls trying to resolve the monthly payment due to my mom falling and having a brain injury and me having to step in and help pay for her care. Not being able to afford the $700 payment twice a month I’ve only asked for a one year reduction to 500 twice A month and have received no phone calls back. I’ve called several times. One girl told me maybe I should go someplace else. I had another guy tell me I can do this on my own. I didn’t really need Freedom. I’m wondering are you really in this to help people or just to get rich and screw people along the way. I’m very disappointed in the way I’ve been treated.

I was having some issues with the program at first. I didn't realize that they weren't paying the creditor upfront. It was just collecting the money and then pay after. So I had an issue with the creditors calling and garnishing my money from my account and getting someone from the county and different things. But it stopped now. Freedom Debt Relief was very helpful in resolving any issue or situation I had. If I were to call, they will respond, then they will do their best to help me out to understand the program on how everything works. After that, everything worked out fine. It really impacts my situation a lot because now I'm getting closer to paying off my debt. It makes me a little bit more comfortable with Freedom knowing that they are handling the creditors and getting the settlement and that I'll be debt-free. I would certainly recommend them. Just make sure that you read up on the policies and follow through and go through the whole thing.

Very slow and makes creditors on me taking forever to settle each account and they tell to hang in there. Come to find out the longer I wait my debt keeps growing and I end of paying for it and being told it's a settlement fee and now I don't know if I should trust this outfit. I entered into an agreement with them and I discussed numerous times with them about an account but they did nothing about it and now because of them not listening I am being sued by a creditor and NLLG has refused to send in a general denial letter to the court as I requested to do now and he refused to do until the last day so now he has said he can’t help me and sending it back to FDR.

I've been enrolled in this program for nearly a year and completely regret my decision. It's been one problem after another with this company. They seem to always drop the ball and communication is terrible. I started getting law notices from one of my cards. They assured me that it would become a top priority. A few months pass, I hear nothing, I get another notice from the lawyer offering me a 60% settlement. I send this to Freedom and they ignore it. Fast forward to now and I am being sued. I now have to pay back the full balance and then some. To make matters worse, I had spoken to someone at FDR and added the law protection a couple of months ago. I began paying $12.00 monthly for this coverage.
Due to a communication error on their part, I was never added to the protection program although I continued to pay for it. When I spoke to FDR about this, they noted that I was never added and pretty much said, "Too bad you won't be covered." No mention of refunding what I have already paid plus, I'm still paying and still not showing as being enrolled despite trying to correct this. You get a different answer depending on who you talk to. We've done our part by uploading documents as soon as we get them, monitoring our accounts but they ignore everything that we send. I regret this horribly.

My enrollment councilor M. ** is the only rating I can provide. 5 Stars. FDR’s phone agents. (3) that I spoke with to update my banking account did not get resolved, because I got 2 emails & 1 Text message stating, I had a ISF funding that was a lie. The money was there. They didn’t update the info. It’s frustrating! Miscommunication? Not acceptable!! Rating this portion. 0 Rating. Check with me 3 months from now, for a new rating. In fairness I can only give what I have experience at the start of the program.

Very good customer service. The staff is very knowledgeable. I would recommend to others. FDR has helped me a lot. I am also trying to put more money into my dedicated account so that I can get out of debt faster.

Updated on 04/28/2021: I just want to say thanks to Freedom Debt Relief for their help. It been a pleasure work with them. They have resolved most of my debt accounts in less time of what they said. I would recommend this program to anyone.

Now I realize it’s not FDR fault for the Debt and the taxes on the so-called savings.
We both know, Debt negotiating settlements is not actually income! This is an honest crisis for many, even millions of consumers. But if you are offering a service to help, that's what a consumer expects. There is always fine print or hidden cost with companies. And most of the time that information is not disclosed when soliciting their service. So, I would like to help someone understand what's at stake. You can best believe I will not recommend their service to help honest individuals that are experiencing this type of crisis. Their service creates an extra burden of debt discreetly! This will heavily affect my taxes and we all know, no one files their credit card debt or interest on their income tax unless it’s a business credit card.
We're sorry to hear about your many disappointments in our program. Yes, we do charge and collect settlement fees. However, we do not do so until the balance has been reduced successfully and the creditor has accepted the first payment. I started this program a year ago and have had 4 of my program debts resolved. There is still some to go but it is slowly happening. Will be glad to have all of it paid off and resolved. Thank you Freedom Debt Relief for helping me.

The customer service agents are courteous and knowledgeable. They are eager to help you with any problems you may have. The company, itself, is ready and willing to assist with any and all situations. If you have a problem making a payment you can contact the company and they will accept partial payments until you are more secure. I truly appreciate everything this company has done for us financially. Their service agents and managers are super.

These people are a bunch of irresponsible nullities. They are very superficial. Did not provide very important information in due time. Never have I seen so much superficiality. Stay away from this program/company. If you think that you will get some assistance, you are wrong.

We signed on for the program being given most the information about the plan. We allowed all accounts to go delinquent, at their request, with promises of relief. We fulfilled all the program requirements and completed it over a year ago. We have been trying to buy a house, only to find one of the accounts they claimed to have cleared is still appearing on our credit and is still reporting delinquent. We have contacted the creditor only to find they are not honoring the agreement made with Freedom because Freedom made the payments to them late. We have been in contact with Freedom repeatedly this last year, and no one ever gets anywhere near a resolution.
In fact most of the time when we call they act like they have no idea what we are taking about, so we spend an extra 20 minutes on the phone to reexplain the situation every single time. We paid Freedom to do a service and feel cheated. We never would have signed on to do this program if we had know it wasn't going to fix the situation we were in. Just want to make sure people reading these reviews have all the facts about this company before signing on with them.

I have no complaints so far. All seems to be done as I was told it would be done. I do have a question, bank withdraws for me a bi weekly, in March, there would be 3 instead of the 2? Need to know please. Thank you.
