Corey was extremely helpful and understand to the needs of me wanting to improve my credit to that I wouldn't have to pay a greater price on my financial goals when I get older. So far it has been a little confusing, but it is getting done and I am less stressed over payments I could not make. One down 2 more to go. The staff has been very understanding when I fell apart over being taken to court, I thank them tremendously for their compassion.

So far I am pleased with service. Have no complaints to date. System keeps moving me forward to reach the ultimate goal of taking care of items that I got behind on. I expect to accelerate the payments in the near future to pay off sooner and get my feet back under myself. Account balances on first several accounts have been paid off and the others have been negotiated down to a reasonable amount. Only have one account that has not negotiated so far but expect they will fall in line in the near future.

I am a retiree and I only have this income which I receive once a month. Before I sign up with Freedom Debt Relief I had 21 accounts that I was paying. Which after I paid those accounts I only had a couple of hundred dollars. Now by signing up I only have 11 accounts that I will be responsible for, Freedom Debt Relief will take care of the the other 10 accounts. By them taking care of those 11 accounts I will have more funds for the rest of the month which is a very big worry off my mind. I just want to say is thank you for Freedom Debt Relief -- you are a life saver to me and my wife.

The reps from Freedom Debt Relief seemed really friendly. I got a girl that really talked me through it, and let me think about it and did not balk. I told her I wanted a week or two to really consider and she never called me back. I had several others that I called and they were calling me and sending me emails. And so, I just went with Freedom Debt Relief. I've been very pleased with them. They just didn’t bug me.
Their service has been great. Everything has been positive. I did have to put my payment off, back. A couple of years ago, we had a little financial crunch and so I missed. I extended it for like two payments. They were really comfortable with that and didn’t ask me to raise my payment. I did have one little thing that did happen too, with one of the cards that they had sent me a letter and was filing suit. I sent the copy of it and never heard anything else.
Everything was fine, which it was one of the accounts that was waiting for pending on settlement, and they turned around and told me they probably thought if they sent me something, served me papers, that I would just pay it instead of contacting them. But that’s only the other things I've had. Working with them has made life easier ‘cause I didn’t have to have all the credit card people nagging me, not being able to pay as much as they wanted. That was a big blessing. No more phone calls and no more nasty letters.

FDR was recommended by one of the people that I work with. They communicate well. Each and every time that they do a settlement for me, they send me an email. They said our program would be four years, but the way it's looking, it doesn’t look like it's gonna be four years. They have this website where you can go on and it has videos of how things work. On this website, they also have people who has been through the program and they tell you what they have been through. They reassure you that this company is gonna take care of your problem. And so far, they have.

I have been in the program for almost an entire year and then got into the consolidation loan program. So my pros/cons will be on the Freedom Debt Relief program. Pros: very knowledgeable staff. Always there to help either by phone or email. Helpful videos on website as well. They did what they said they would do, help negotiate down my total amount due significantly.
Cons: something not discussed enough is that you will owe taxes on the amount they get your CC reduced. It came up in questions but now that I'm getting the tax statements it's a significant thing to take in consideration. They stated I might be able to get the IRS to excuse these debts.. To qualify you basically need to be insolvent (including house, cars, any property). Overall it has been a stressful situation that I got my self into and with the help from FDR I got out of and I am currently building my credit back up with the loan program. 3 stars instead of 4 is due to the fact that I am now owing a lot in taxes which, if I knew, might have swayed my decision to do this.

Requested an update on open accounts and never received anything. Have an account that is in advanced negotiation, but no one can tell me anything about it. I don't want a sheriff showing up at my door again - very embarrassing and I was led to believe that that would be rare, however when I call in with my concerns - the people I have spoken with don't seem to care and can't tell me what is going on. Just want to say that its always a possibility that they will file a law suite. I feel like I was mislead when I signed up because I was lead to believe that you all had relationships with everyone and they negotiated with you all and that ending up in a suit was rare. I am very disappointed. Don't know if accounts have been even contacted to work with them and no one can give me any information on the status of my outstanding accounts.

When I did my research, I thought that out of all the companies, FDR was a better company. I thought that they would handle my situation more appropriately than other companies. I had credit card debt and they estimated that the program would be 24 to 48 months long. The rep was hands down professional. They were easygoing and understanding. They make me as a client feel very comfortable with the company. I have friends that joined other companies and they're having problems. FDR is a better company. Two years with them and I'm happy.
I live in New York and right now, everything is a struggle. I have about a year to go and I'm debt-free, but I might need a little help for at least 90 days. FDR took my payment out last week. And a week or two before the following payment is taken up, I have to call them up. But I'm sure I have no issues. They communicate and send me an email to keep me in the loop as far as that situation that’s going on with the virus.

I saw the advertisements of Freedom Debt Relief online and the person who helped me in the beginning was excellent, encouraging, knowledgeable and attentive. I got myself into this mess but what she told me was meaningful and a good thing enough for me to go ahead and sign up for the program. I have a very good income, even though I'm retired. I make quite a bit of money but I had some setback from certain things and I ended up generating a lot of credit card debt, which I couldn’t catch up with. Had it not been for the interest, I would have been able to make the payments without any problems. I wasn’t getting anywhere and I was just throwing money on interest. So, I said that this has gotta stop. I pay FDR a nice amount of money where they can negotiate with these people minus the interest. I have plenty to live off of and I've been doing well financially although I don’t like the way my credit score has dropped.

Freedom Debt Relief seemed like they had quite a lot of experience in the industry based on reviews I had seen. There were others I spoke to and they seemed a little more fly-by-night -- FDR seemed more trustworthy. Everything has been fine with them. The gentleman I talked to was very pleasant and helpful. I had one question that he answered immediately without even me having to ask the question. He was very knowledgeable. I had text messages whenever I had a settlement, so that was helpful. If it was just in my email, I wouldn’t necessarily see it right away, so that was good. While I wish the fees were not as high as they are, it is still better than the alternative. I felt less stressed going through this.

High settlement fees making the final of some settlements just as much as the total would of been before settling. This isn’t made clear when signing up. The plus is many have settled faster than expected.

Representatives are rude and as a customer, these people are not transparent with their communications. It’s over four years after the fact and I’m still paying Freedom Debt Relief. I was told that it would be four years and no more.

This program has been a lifesaver. One monthly payment and Freedom Debt Relief does all the work--peace of mind. Freedom has given us much help with our debts. I am pleased with everything they have done for me. I was always able to make contact with them when needed. Many of my debtors was already familiar with Freedom once I told them we were working on our accounts.

Everything sounded good when we started with FDR. Their fees and their interest rates and everything else were way too high, which I didn’t realize when I started it. I got a consolidation loan through them to get everything paid off earlier. And now, I'm paying that back and with the interest and I’m gonna wind up paying more than I owed to begin with.
What they paid back is $37,000. If I follow out the whole program with the interest and everything, I’ll wind up paying about 100,000 back to them. Other than that they did get everything negotiated but I basically paid through the nose to get them to do it. I’d advise anybody that’s looking at it to really look close before they jump.

The rep I spoke with from FDR sounded like she knew what she was doing. She never shamed me because of my situation. She told me that everybody has been in my situation and that I should give her a bit of time and FDR would see what they could do. She called me back within 20 minutes and told me that things are okay and that I have been accepted. She was really nice. Now, I pay them monthly. Things have been going well.

I am the one that raised my deposit but I didn’t know this Virus was knocking me out of work that’s why I wanted to lower my deposit to 625 not 650. I called to have it reduced to 625 and he done it for 1 month. I wanted it done permanent. It’s really got me pissed. I am waiting on another service to deal with.

The consultants from Freedom Debt Relief are really nice. They said they were familiar with the virus but they were not told what to do about all this. But on my part, I'm making sure that they know what’s going on with me. I've been talking to them about lower payments because I'm outta work. There’s nobody there where I work and I hear it’s a big mess. I keep calling and can't get through. I've already filed the paperwork online and nothing is happening. It kept saying pending. So right now, I don’t have anything in there to put in since I'm not getting a paycheck.
I've talked to Freedom Debt Relief a couple of times already. They took out $20. I took out 80, then I took out another 20, and the guy went on the computer and he took the first one out. Then they proceeded to say that they'd have to renegotiate with the companies. I told them that I should get a check, hopefully, which I was not really counting on ‘cause I was so messed up with this. Then the 15th would be good with them but if not, they told me to call in so they wouldn't pull something out that was not in there. Their service has been all good. I only have two left and then I have Walmart because they've negotiated with that right.

Updated on 09/03/2021: My credit card debt was overwhelming my budget, but Freedom Debt Relief came to the rescue and negotiated debt reduction on my behave. I called Freedom Debt Relief and they were top-notch. They laid out a plan and were very specific as to how they were gonna go about helping me. They also informed me of when they were about to make arrangements with specific creditors that I had, then I would give them a call and tell them to go forward with that. And they would take care of it. They were wonderful and I got no complaints with them.
The guy I dealt with was a very nice gentleman and their reps were very professional. They were always respectful, too and they would explain things in great detail. And for things that I didn't understand, they would take the time to break it down so I could understand it. When I would call, they would say they understood my concern then they would explain to me what was going on. At the end of the conversation, my mind would be at ease as to whatever questions I had. In the end, working with Freedom Debt Relief made me realize not to live beyond my means anymore, so that's good.

At first, I questioned whether I had made the correct decision. Walking through this, I see how deeply credit card usage is deceptive. I end up paying through interest and at times late fees that has a detrimental effect on my life, bondage to my creditors. They become richer while I become poorer, enslaved to their chains. Hello. My experience with FDR at first was good and was very happy to join. Time has passed and I have had economic difficulties and in no way have they wanted to help me with the payments although I report I will not have the funds. Finally somebody this week helped me with doing a change of biweekly to monthly. But, once again overdrafted my account when I told them I needed help because the payment for the 27th would not go through due to events being cancelled because of the coronavirus.
I believe you should be more sensible in this difficult times with people who are self employed and depend on whether or not a client contracts you. I thought you would work with me better but it seems you are not willing to. I am looking into other companies to see if I change.. As usual everything was wonderful in the beginning and as we went along, things went to normal where rude people attend you through messages, mails and calls. I am not comfortable with the company anymore but while I find a better solution I have no other option. And dont call because I will not answer. Only emails. Maria **

So far my relationship with FDR has been excellent. They answer my questions quickly and clearly. I did miss a chance to accept a settlement yesterday. The offer was made with a call to my cell phone. The best way to contact me is by email because I sometimes leave the cell phone in the car. We screen calls on the landline. I may not recognize a call from you.

I sent over the letter from the court then it said someone would contact me. No one ever did. When I check on it a couple weeks later I was told the league team declined giving me representation. I guess I will have to figure it out on my own since you won’t help me with my Discover account.

Everyone from Freedom Debt Relief has been very pleasant. I felt very comfortable working with them. There was only once incident where I called and didn’t get an answer about it. But most times, I got an answer whenever I had a question with stuff. I've been doing it for about a year or so. There was an occasion where I had to skip a month when I didn’t have the money to do it and that would have bearing on it. I was hoping to be a little farther along, but I could not afford to put any more money into it. I could only put in the minimal but at least, they did negotiate two things for me. There are some months where I'm really struggling but I'm still trying to do it because I want to. It’s been very difficult because my mortgage company has been hounding me with trying to catch up with my mortgage payment.
As a whole, Freedom has not harassed me and they've been able to work with me. Even when I told them I didn’t have the funds available, they told me that I had to try and put something on because I was short in the negotiating amount that was needed. I ended up putting a couple of dollars there and then I started back on schedule. Also, I need to call them today because I don’t have the funds in my account to cover this month. This is the second time. I'm gonna try to at least save something, but I know I can’t. I don’t have the total amount yet.

I have seen Freedom Debt Relief on TV a lot and then it would pop up on my computer once in a while. They had people saying that they were on it and they were very happy. They sounded like they would work for you, so I told my wife, “Let’s do it,” We've been with them for a year and a half now, and they are doing everything they said they would do. It is working out fine and we are happy with them. They also keep us informed of what is going on.
We have one complaint, however. On one bank that they deal with, they put down the full amount that they pay them off for our taxes. They sent back the full amount that they discarded and that we did not pay them a penny. We called up and they said they do that all the time. It should have been only 3,000, but they put 6,000 down. Now we are stuck. We have to pay taxes on the full amount. FDR tried, but they could not get any decent answer from them. So, I told FDR to forget about it. It is, after all, not their fault that that happened. Overall, I’m very satisfied with them and I would recommend them to anybody.

I’ve been dealing with FDR for some time now and although I missed payments due to financial restraints, I’ve been on target for 9 months and have a substantial amount in my dedicated account. I can’t understand why some debts can’t be paid off in full. Another item I have is I’ll be paying taxes to IRS due to taxable income from the financial institution reporting to them and I’ll have to pay the full amount, not the settled amount which I was never informed from FDR. At this rate It seems I’ll never get out of debt. Can someone call me to discuss, or I’ll stop my program and find another solution with another company.

Time it took to negotiate was too long. I had money available to payoff things entirely. You don’t save a lot of money because of the fees charged but you do save peace of mind with not being harassed by creditors. It’s not a money savings program it’s a bill paying program. FDR does not have a plan to help with hurt credit after program.

I sent handwritten copy to every debt. Told them I'm working with Freedom. They wanted to deal with me. As of new they quit calling 24 hrs a day. Later on I want to up my deposit to clear my debt off. Thank you.

Please be careful. You will have zero control or the ability to request to have a specific account paid first. They work at their own pace regardless of any request to speed the process up. Please do research about this company before you sign up. I thought that I did enough research about this company and signed up. I should have researched more. Found out that they just had a class action lawsuit against them. Hindsight is 20-20. You're better off doing it yourself. Very poor customer service and tons of lies.
I called to cancel due to very poor customer service and had to listen to their team lead/manager keep telling me how this is all my fault and that they do not care what their customers request as to what accounts that they pay. In truth they don’t really have a very good rapport with the creditor per the lawsuit that I read. Finally got the manager to close my account and he told me the fund in my dedicated account would be returned to me via direct deposit in 3 to 5 business days. "Lies". They sent me a email the next day about how sorry they are to loses a customer and that the fund will be returned in a mailed check in about 21 days. Kinda got to get use to lies with this company. Please do research and be careful.

The reps I dealt with were awesome. However, after 2 calls to FDR, I’m still awaiting a return call and assistance with my settlement fee during these trying times. I have dealt individually with creditors and they have been more than flexible.

We have accomplished a lot together this year and I'm moving right along in my progress. I recently changed the amount that I was paying to a higher amount, but it didn't take in the system. Fortunately, I spoke with a nice gentleman that made the changes and it worked. I was able to complete the update and this guy made my day!!!

I signed up with Freedom in 2018 and they were very helpful. I had a situation where I needed to file documents and get a lawyer in order to deal with a credit company and that went well. I'm not getting harassing phone calls anymore, but I still get letters and everyone is still trying to collect their money. Some credit cards haven’t even been addressed yet. I don’t like that they didn’t reach out to all of the companies at the same time and make a payment plan so that everything was getting paid off. They just do one or two at a time and make chunk payments. I also don’t like how they take so much money. But I like that it’s visual and it’s on the app. I can see stuff as far as where my money is going.

After 4 months into the program they settled one of my accounts and cut the 50% off from them. And right now they were able to settle two other accounts at once which is great. They are making good progress in all my accounts. They really are doing their best and are making my life easy now. Hopefully in my last 4 accounts that I have left they will do the same. True company to their words. They will make everything they can do to cut your whole debt in half. So far I like what I see and I know they will do the same to you if you are planning to settle all your debt. Give them a shot. I strongly recommended this company.

I needed to know why the legal group was saying that I was not enrolled when I was paying the $12 a month. I needed the legal group's help on a lawsuit that happened with one of my cards. The gentleman I talked to, Jacob, told me that I would have to take the Discover card out of the program because a judgment had been entered and they would now just work on the other card to get a settlement. He was very nice and courteous to talk to.

I got laid off from my job and I have some credit cards that I have to pay. That’s why I decided to go with the Freedom Debt Relief. I found it on Facebook then I called one of the salesmen and he explained everything to me. I signed up and so far, so good. I've been with them for about two years and they have resolved four accounts already. I have two more to go. I’m happy with them, on what they’re doing. With FDR I will be debt free earlier from Discovery. They were not patient which is causing me a increase on my monthly payment I did not expect. An increase of $200 for 3 months then I can reduce to $150 a month until debt is settled. FDR and the Law firm is helping me with this matter. I should have seen this coming but I had no notice in the mail only an e-mail and a phone call 2 days before my notarized paperwork was due. So, a word to the wise if you can increase your monthly payment if you can. Now, I'm paying $600 monthly. I was too generous to others and now I'm paying the price.

I've been 5-star pleased up until this point. I wanted to pay the last creditor off and deposit enough to do that. I thought I did that with an extra $651 deposit on Mar. 18. But instead, even though there's enough money there, it's continued on for a few more months through 4 payments of $1625 to the creditor building up more monthly charges of $10.25 unnecessarily.

I realize with limited funds you can only do so much. But I give you half of my check every month and the accounts which needs to be addressed the most, are the last to be focused on. Because of this, I get calls from bill collectors who want to sue me for the money. This is stressful. Also I had a great fico score before this, now my score is totally tanked. This is frustrating. It's hard to get that back up again. This process is hard. Freedom Debt Relief really hasn't been there for me in any real way. When I call, they are nice, but don't have any answers to my issues. Maybe there aren't any answers, but there must be better ways, something needs to change.

I have found that is has been fairly easy to work within the system. When I got a letter from a collection agency I took a picture of the letter and forward it to you and the next day I had a reply on what to do. I wish however there was a way to stop the annoying calls. We do not answer them but they never stop. I have notified the credit card companies in writing to contact you and to change my address to the p o box in Phoenix but they still call the house. I also provided them the telephone number.

This is a great program. It has help me pay off my debt. At one point I was out of work and I couldn’t pay my scheduled bi-weekly payments. The gentleman from FDR that I first spoke with was pretty convincing. Based on what he told me, I felt that it was the best option for me to get out of my situation. They provided a debt relief program to where I was paying into a dedicated account while they negotiated with my creditors and came to a settlement. I would pay into my account and they would pay down my creditors.
I would have liked to have been informed differently or more accurately, things being what they were. Originally, when I enrolled in the program, I believe I was told it would be a two to three-year program. But it was possible that it would go longer depending on the settlements that would be agreed upon from the different creditors. However, I didn’t come up with any surprises. Everything was on the table. All the amounts that I enrolled were truthful amounts. From a two to three-year program, it’s now going on four years. But other than that, I feel pretty comfortable working with them and I'm very close to resolving all the debts that I had enrolled.

Updated on 09/02/2021: Freedom Debt Relief is wonderful, and hopefully, I'll have it paid off in the next month. They explained everything and the payment plan was easy to do. Overall, the service is excellent. In fact, I had one of my friends referred and she used them.
Original Review: I researched Freedom Debt Relief and they seemed to have the easiest program. I went into consolidation with them and they’re still providing it for me. I get notifications and I can go on the client dashboard at any time. The rep was very informative, professional and empathetic. He was understanding and willing to help. So, it was a good experience. I was asked on what I could pay per month and we worked together to figure out which one would not hurt my budget. If I have any problems, I just contact them. Freedom Debt Relief sounded good from what I was reading on the website, and I thought, "Okay, that would work for us." The debt consultant I dealt with was very nice and he knew what he was talking about. He sounded like he was going to do the very best for us. They worked on it and got them settled, and he texted me whenever they had something to settle. They were willing to work with us and the payment plan was good. They take out the money twice a month, and it works out well for our budget. They are settling my debts and they still have two more to go. We flipped over to the taking out the big loan so they could pay everything off, and so we are going to pay the loan to get it paid off quicker. Working with them is very comfortable and their customer support is good. I was very satisfied with everything they have done.

I was led to believe F.D.R. would negotiate with my creditors, & reach a fair settlement. The fact is Discover bank & American Express aren't willing to negotiate much. As a result I'm paying back the full amount, the 2 options they offered involve increasing my monthly program payment significantly & increases the amount time that I'm in the program. Knowing what I know now I would chosen a different approach to my debt issues. I'm also disappointed with communication process, on 2 occasions I was not informed about time sensitive information.

There was a couple of things that I was advised of in the beginning that kinda changed a little bit, which was the length of time the program should take. I was under the impression that it was gonna be one year to have all my accounts paid off. The credit is paid off and then a year from that to pay off the actual loan. That was provided to me to do that. But it upped by a year from what it looks like in the email that I received. So I was a little confused about that, but it's not a huge deal. But there could be more communication on why that was happening. I've been in this program for four years now and I'm looking forward to getting it done sooner and then my credit goes back up. But I'm still overall happy with the program. I'm definitely at a better place than I was.
The law firm that FDR works with and that we pay for was pretty much useless to me. I was sued by a company, and when I called the law firm, they said they cannot do anything because the amount of money that they were requesting. It kinda sucked that I wasn't able to use that program at all. The creditor wanted below 5,000 so they couldn't do anything about it. So I eventually had to make my own separate deal with them because they didn't accept what FDR wanted to pay them. They want in full. That was another deal I had to make out of my own pocket that I'm still paying for.
Overall, they still do what they said. They were very helpful in the beginning and they were explanatory. They took me out of a huge amount of debt. I just wish the program could be a little faster. But overall, it's a good program and it's good to know that there are other options than just going bankrupt. FDR gave me five other options and that was very helpful with leaving me to pick the best option for me.

I did a pre-qualification for a loan. And then when I did the loan, they told me that my chances were better if I have a debt consolidation company. NDR has been working on my credit card for two years now. Since I am a college student and I can't work full hours I should be done by 2023. NDR has taken away a lot of stress. They helped me with some things that I probably wouldn't have been able to do on my own. Within my first year or two, they had already settled two debts. They try to accommodate so I don't lose my ongoing structured settlements. If I needed to lower my payment, they’ll put it in their system. They've been great and they've helped me out a lot.

I am writing this review with so much disappointment, sadness and desperation in my heart. I entrusted my financial situation to Freedom Debt Relief. They advised me to stop paying all my credit cards and so I did. I have not missed any payments in over 2 years. Finally I was contacted by Consolidation Plus which is a sister company to Freedom Debt relief with an option of getting a loan and paying off all my debt asap and I would just pay them off the loan. I figured it would be the best thing to do and so I moved forward with it. Freedom debt allowed me to get sued by one of my creditors and then my bank account was garnished and frozen. When I called Freedom debt literally all their agents would not help me and basically just said they couldn't help me and that it was a risk I knew I was taking. And NO that was not a risk I knew I was taking because if that was the case I would have continued to pay my credit cards.
The only risk they advised of was that my credit score would drop while the negotiation phase was going on. Even though they advertise peace of mind they certainly did not provide it. The agents were rude and not very empathetic to my situation. I am a single mom of 5 and right now during the health crises I am not working and my family really depended on the money that was garnished. Such horrible treatment of their customers going through a difficult time especially when I have been paying for them to help me for years. No loyalty.
Consolidation Plus employees were so much more helpful and concerned about my situation but unfortunately not really able to help me since they are just the lending company. Freedom Debt is who handles all the negotiations and settlements. I was waiting to finish with this program to write them a wonderful review of how they helped me and fixed all my problems but decided I needed to write it now and warn others of what may happen when you trust them. The only people that can help me refuse to help me, Freedom Debt Relief. DO NOT USE THEM. Their employees do not care! I am still awaiting on call back with a resolution to this ordeal.

I have a creditor that says I still owe after FDR said they accepted the settlement. I paid FDR 25% of the current balance not balance that was enrolled so of course it is higher. I have had to deal with creditor on my own trying to get this resolved. No avail, FDR is not helping. I have called customer service many times. I have other settlements that I have paid for. Very disappointed that I am still dealing with creditors after paying fees to FDR.

Coming into the program my credit score was around 685. No missed payments. I was looking Into debt consolidation loan but they told me that I didn't qualify. Now a year later they want to give me a loan. With 25% Apr. That will add over 10,000 dollar to my pay off.

I am tired of getting any 1099C in the middle of March when all of this stuff is suppose to be mailed out by January 31. Last year and this year I have not got them until the middle of March and I have already filed my taxes. So then I have to go back and get them amended. Something needs to be changed.

I've been using the FDR program for 2 months now and regret it. Yes they have settled some of my debt for 40% and 50% less than what I owed. BUT they charge ridiculous fees when settled which they make you pay off before using your money on the settled debt. One of my settlements was very low, $1984. I figured this is great, I send FDR $922 a month, this debt will be paid off very quick!. Not so fast, FDR is only sending the creditor $83 a month. Thats going to take 2 years to pay off. Wouldn't the logical thing to do is to send maybe $300 a month and have it paid off in 7 months? Or something to that effect? Customer service is useless. I called the person who signed me up for the program and all she would say is this is "not my department". So I destroyed my credit for this program and am finding it useless. Good job Freedom Debt Relief.

I found this company in the TV and I thought it was a good opportunity to take care of my debt in three years. The program was great and the negotiator I dealt with, who was a Spanish boy, was a very nice guy. His name was Ruben, and he was patient and consistent with us. Setting up a payment plan was nice, too. Before, we pay the credit cards 50 in one, 100 in one and 150 in one. In either way, we were never out. We were still in the hole. It did not matter I paid every month. With Freedom Debt Relief, on the other hand, I may be having freedom in like a year -- we are a year and a half in the program already. I won't forget about working with them. It helps us a lot. Go with them.

I'm retired and while my credit was good, I was overloaded. I went with Freedom Debt Relief but their program has not been helping a whole lot. While it's fine, after I got into it, I feel stuck. I'm still paying $448 and it's a bit much. My payments are just so high and I still feel like I'm struggling. If a person is already having problems with their debt, FDR should try to work with that person and get them more comfortable. Still, their reps are very friendly. When I call and ask them a question, they are very good. This month, I called and their rep said I could skip a payment. Even so, if they could do something about getting my payments down, that would be fine.

Right from the beginning, I was very nervous and anxious. However, a short time passed and it was like I had known my consultant my whole life. He was extremely courteous, kind, respectful and seemed to know exactly how I felt. I put a stop on the program the first time thinking I could handle it all. But I realized I couldn't. I just want anyone that is considering this option to please think about it. They have extremely great customer service and talk the good talk, but in the long run it caused me more stress than before. I ended up finishing the program with their sister company, which I am thankful for because I had to get this behind me. The biggest problem I had is being served on one of the creditors that wouldn’t settle. It ended up working out in the end, and that’s when I decided to go with Consolidation plus, to prevent any further action of the remaining balances.
Once I paid the settlement fees and the 1099c on my taxes I came out paying more than I would have just making minimum payments. This has been a hard lesson learned. My credit score tanked and I’m still trying to get it up. It just seems like I was in constant fear the whole time I was on the program. It still isn’t over. I recently filed my taxes and now have been informed FDR had a 1099c that they hadn’t sent me until my taxes were filed. Now I have to deal with getting my taxes amended. Hopefully, after this I can get this behind me and never look back. Just weigh your options and take everything into consideration before joining.

I had six credit cards and Freedom Debt Relief did great on five. My largest was SunTrust and they took care of that. The last one was Barclay and Freedom kept telling me that they wouldn’t budge. I’ve been taken to court three times and there wasn’t any help with that. They wanted more money at Freedom. If I could have given them more money, I would have done it. A paper came in the mail, which said that the judge passed judgment and that they could garnish my wages and put a lien on my house. 240 is still being paid to Freedom, which is good. But now, I gotta go till August 22, and I have to pay the same amount I would have had to pay when I left Barclay. When I stopped getting mail from them, they had to send everything to Freedom, plus 2000 more.
We gotta get them some payment of some kind because Barclay wouldn’t even talk to me because I was considered a third-party. So, I was in the middle, in trouble and I didn’t like it. It’s still a very uncomfortable feeling and it will be for the next two years. I’ve never been late on a payment. It's always there every month and they’ve praised me for that. They said that most people don’t make it through the whole process but I’ve been doing it.

I’ve been with Freedom Debt Relief for a couple of years and I should be finishing up but it’s not. It takes so long for things to get processed and for deals to be made. It’s such a slow process. They should get things done a lot quicker. Also, I recently found out some information that I wasn’t told about. I’m a SPED music teacher and I retired in 2018. My husband is sick and he is 68. He retired in 2018 as well. We were taking care of his mom at the time. She had had a stroke. I needed to come home. When I retired, I cashed in a 403(b) and bought up some properties. When I filled out my taxes, my 403(b) swallowed me up and I had to pay back almost $7,000 in taxes. That bombarded me. I was not financially able to maintain all my bills. I was never late on my payments but I felt overwhelmed I had to borrow money to pay back the IRS and make payments on it. I went looking for some help. I called Freedom because I knew I couldn't get my head above the water with having to pay my IRS bill on top of my other stuff.
Freedom asked me what credit cards I had because they are trying to consolidate. I turned those in and gave them the information. They took over and they told me the process of how it would work. I told them that sounded good to me. Kareem was the first rep I talked to and he was very professional. He was supportive of me and I felt like he was guiding me in the right direction. I didn’t know what I was doing, except for consolidating the loans and my cards, and he appeared to have been knowledgeable about debt relief. I went ahead with the consolidation. I felt comfortable working with him. He was encouraging and left me his contact information.
They took over five of my credit cards and they helped me a lot. They’ve been very good about supporting me and did a great deal with working with the negotiations and stuff. They've been in contact with me regularly and they give me security in knowing that they’re there for me. If I have a question, I would call them and they would give me wisdom on what my question is. Also, they talked to me on the phone and they made a dashboard. I would go there weekly, sometimes more than every week, and keep looking at it to see how things are going. And they keep calling and walking me through the different processes. If in case I have legal problems, they had all these contracts for me to sign, to make sure if I need help, they would take care of me. I’ve been very pleased with my service and satisfied with what I’ve been experiencing so far. Working with them made me live more comfortably.

I did a lot of searching and reading about different companies. I asked for the top five and googled it and that got me started with Freedom Debt Relief. I reached out to them and I asked if they could tell me quite a bit about their company. I asked them questions and they answered all of it. Freedom needed to know right off the bat who I owed as well as how much I owed. Once that was determined, they were the ones who figured out how much I would owe every month. Lately, I’ve been calling and telling Freedom that for this month only, I wanna put in more. I made a $1,500 deposit not too long ago and I asked if they knew that it was a one-time thing. They repeated it back to me and told me that it was what they have. After that, they sent a text and emailed me, and they let me know exactly what we were doing. I love their follow-ups and it makes you feel comfortable.
Kristen, the rep, was great and she got back with me. We went back-and-forth and she made me feel at ease. I let her know that she was part of the reason why I didn’t go any further to even reach out to anybody else. She was excellent. I was very enthused when we first signed up with FDR, but the process was so slow. If I had known, I would have said to take care of the banks first when we started. Those were the major ones that we had problems with. We were subpoenaed and have to go to court now. I’m not too happy with that.
