I signed up with Freedom Debt Relief in August of 2017, I was told that I would graduate the program in August of 2021. More than halfway through the program, that date got changed to December of 2021 to January of 2022. After my last account was settled, that date changed to March of 2022. Not super happy about how I have gone over and above what I was asked to do and FDR hasn't. I don't imagine that I would ever recommend your services to anyone in the future. Just how I feel... Sorry.

I called multiple times to speak to somebody. I kept getting a text saying my settlement would have to be done over due to lack of funds. I have other debt I want to add. Nobody has gotten back to me on that. I have uploaded it also. Your fees you are tacking on are not saving me as much as you make a person think.

I would try a million other ways. I was needing a break and some help, but you get charged 21% for what they negotiate and then a year into the program they finally offer you the Freedom Plus loan which is another like 25% and your credit is now in shambles. Then the NLLG lawyers that they partner with are not helpful, nor communicative. In the end I saved almost no money and my credit score fell over 200 points. It was not a great experience.

I feel like I could have made the same settlements myself. Not as significant as lead to believe. Though I have agreed to settlements presented I feel it should be no more than 50% instead of average 30% less than amount owed.

The rep explained everything to me and helped set up my program with Freedom Debt Relief. It was great. They helped me come to an agreement with the payment that I could meet. I got about another 18 months to go and they’ve worked to resolve my debts in a very timely manner, so I don’t have any problems and I’m very pleased. I have recommended them to a couple of friends of mine. FDR has been very helpful. They took me out of a very stressful situation and I'm not sweating to try to pay bills each month. I didn't know or understand the legalities of the program but once I got with FDR, I was happy with how they explained things. The ability to get on their website and find things out was good too. It seems to me like they intentionally try not to intrude which is a good thing. They’re not in your face every day. They send you messages here and there or alerts about whether you want to settle on an account or not. When you do need to talk to them, they're fairly good about getting back to you or they're easily reached and you can get to them.
I have reduced my debt a lot and FDR has helped keep people away from the phone bothering me. The program is worth every minute of my sanity. But part of the information that FDR needs to share with people are the legal steps, like when a collection becomes a legal issue. They should spread the information more about that kind of stuff because what happens is, I could hand them over an account that's already in legal jeopardy and it doesn't really matter. The legality of it is going to take over the process.

Felt like some legal issues should have been handled in a more timely matter. They ended up in court because they took too long to look into the matters. I really don't have time to write a book on this subject.

UPDATED 4/27/2022: When we moved to a new place and the new jobs didn't work out, we unfortunately went into debt that we couldn't handle. As we had no real property, there was no way to get out of this debt. One credit company offered a buy-out that would have required us to sell our car. We were worried about using FDR because it seemed too good to be true, but after enrolling in the program, and after a few payments began to accumulate so that there was money to negotiate with, the benefits became obvious. I highly recommend this if you are at a point where you see no way out of debt. You'll sleep at night.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: I've been in the program for two years and it's working well with most of my enrolled accounts in a structured payoff. But one creditor keeps harassing me with letters from collection agencies and phone calls, and although I have shared the information with FDR, they are unable to approach this creditor to advise them of the account having been enrolled. Even if it's not ready for negotiation just yet, it would make my life a lot calmer if the collection agency would just leave me the ** alone.

They are pretty good but do not always answer back but usually do. I asked that 2 of my accounts be removed from their collections and still they keep them listed. But do like how they manage to make deals to get me out of debt. Their negations with your creditors is excellent.

I decided to put the plan on hold for two months. This would allow me to start setting aside funds for payments. I was bombarded by text messages about why. It seemed very high pressured to continue. Then, when he called I was offered to skip two months. He couldn’t do it himself and I was cold transferred to another person. Had to start all over again. Then, the line disconnects and I didn’t get a call back. Not very professional.

Would like this much better if there was some help in improving my credit scores as these debts are eliminated. The estimated resolved dates are kept as described. This is a great company. I don’t have to worry about making a payment because it gets taken out of my account. When they have reached a settlement they email me for authorization. And if I get something in the mail regarding a creditor then I just email them with the information and it gets taken care of.

This process is too slow. I should not have stopped paying all my accounts at once. One or two accounts should have been targeted at a time and I should have stopped paying them only moving on to the rest as settlements are reached. I do not recommend that anyone use the FDR program.

Fast work! Good and thorough customer service. Very helpful with explaining how the program works. The program is beneficial to anyone who isn’t getting anywhere with credit card payments due to high interest. I would recommend to anyone who has 15k plus is credit card debt. The only thing I am not happy with is when we joined this company we were told after 6 months or so we were to get a loan and pay a monthly note until the creditors were completely paid off, this has not happened yet. Can you please let me know if this will ever happen and if so when? Thanks.

Updated on 09/17/2021: Freedom Debt Relief has been very helpful in getting us (wife) and self from under a large credit card debt. My payments were reduce considerably. I went from seven credit card payment down to one very manageable payment. The single manageable payments has been a lot of help getting our finance in order.

Setting up a payment plan was easy. It was an estimate of how long it would take and how long you'd have to pay this amount. The part left out was that the amount can change at any time and you don't have any choice but to do it. I found this out in the last two months. There were a lot of things that were missed so it ended up costing a lot more money. My whole understanding of the program was you paid whatever they negotiated. I had no idea if something came up that was different, there would be additional money paid out. For my situation, it was 900 something dollars. Right now, I'm literally paying $1,700 a month and that's no better off than I was before. It'll get paid faster but I had no idea that was part of the deal. I'm not happy at all.
The whole reason you do that is because you're in a financial pinch with little alternatives outside of bankruptcy. My situation started before COVID and COVID only made it worse. I'm working now but it has continued to be a financial burden as these other companies come after you for money. I pay monthly for an attorney and Freedom told us that we could get sued by American Express but not to worry and that they have retainers. And I did that. I got sued and the options were pay it all or pay 800 a month or 1,200 a month. Up until that point, it was fine. But had someone told me before that I just needed more money in the account to build it up so that they could negotiate, we would have probably avoided that. Initially, the communication was great but once I got into it, it had been poor. If I have a question, I'll typically send it in a chat or email. There has not been a whole lot of communication and typically, it’s somebody different.

I would not recommend this company to anyone. They do not help with issues. I have called and sent screenshots of issues and nobody replies or even returns a call. NLLG is worthless too. All this company is about is money. Dont get me started on the settlement fees I was not told about upfront. All they do is make it look like they saved you money but they really do not because the money you did save is taken in settlement fees. Complete waste of time and money..

Freedom Debt Relief’s program works well. I get phone calls from my creditors and I tell them that I'm one of the clients from Freedom Debt, and it’s not a problem. People should go for FDR. My monthly deposits started off reasonably and have increased over $500 additionally monthly. All of my debts have not been settled so I am not sure how much more I can afford if my deposits continue to increase. I would not recommend this program. I had a few medical issues that cause me to be unable to continue paying my bills the way I felt necessary over the past 3 years. So, I went to Freedom Debt Relief to see if they could help. I couldn't find a better helper in my attempt to care for the debt I owed than FDR. They have showed that creditors and FDR could work together to accomplish what was needed to eliminate my debt in a reasonable timeframe and satisfy my creditors. Freedom Debt Relief is very good with their customer service. It's always a positive feedback anytime I’ve ever had a question. FDR was always helpful but I wasn't quite sure which account was being settled right away. Lately, I haven't been communicating with anyone. They could be a little bit more aggressive and personal and say, "Hey, we can do this if you do this." My credit score has gone up, which is one of my goals, but it has taken a couple of years for that to take place. Where I am with it right now, I could probably move a little faster and get an excellent credit report.

So I’m hit out of the blue with this recommendation to deposit over $300 in my account for one of the settlements. First I heard of it, terrible explanation about what was going on when I called customer service. Her explanation was just reading back to me what was already written in the email - she could provide no further details and was supposed to find out what was going on and get back to me. I still haven’t heard anything yet and I’m supposed to decide by Tuesday and today is Sunday. Do you have the date I called.

If I could give negotiate stars, I would. I am being sued by one of my creditor. Even though I have uploaded the notice of intent to file suit and incur court costs and all documents from their attorney up to my dashboard. I also called FDR customer service to make sure they see it and forward all documents to the right person who can negotiate with them, but the person I talked to said “If it’s not a Summon you don’t need to worry about it, they are not going to sue you.” One month later I was served with a summon right at my front door! I have to pay for court fee $225 and $45 to faxed all paper work and check to NLLG. This is not what I signed up for. Very disappointed.

I amassed too much debt, had deaths in the family, and had another member of the family take off with all our liquid assets after 20 years of savings in it. All we were left with is hard assets and we owed everybody. It was a hardship for four years. I didn't really want to leave my creditors hung out to dry so I used the Freedom Debt Relief.
Everything's pretty cut-and-dried. We had some issues at first, trying to keep up with the program. It was tough but I had to renegotiate after I couldn't fulfill my first obligations with Freedom Debt Relief and we came to terms. Since then, everything has been all right. I recommended Freedom Debt Relief to several other people including my son and he went with them. After four years, they let him go.
