FDR is a debt relief program, not a money management program. Do your homework before signing up. All enrolled debt will continue to get behind and interest will accrue. When you have enough in your "account" and are far enough behind, they will negotiate for a debt settlement with each credit card company. But your credit score will be trashed for quite awhile. A money management program works very differently, so check out the difference before signing up! FDR does what they say they will do, but communication is barely adequate. Keep checking your dashboard. I was too far into the program to be able to deal with a money management approach, so I decided to just stay with FDR. I'll be done in 3 more years (or earlier if possible).

Updated on 06/02/2021: Though it has been almost a year since Susan's passing, as you can see her name is still on this account. You have at least changed the email address to me (Elizabeth **). As far as settling the debts, it has moved along quite well and I am pleased with the progress.
Original Review: Very respectful regarding my personal info. Handled matter in a prompt and professional manner. Have always found representatives to be helpful and understanding of my requests. Always willing to transfer or locate additional help if needed. I would recommend FDR to my friends and relatives.

Good customer relations. I was pleased with the quick settlements with the creditors. I only have one issue, is I was told it will only take 4 years. It looks now that it would take longer. Also I believe the interest rate is higher.

The acreedor Discover sent to me a notify regard the amount that debt, Attorney Referral Pending Discover, if you do not make a payment arrangements on the Discover card account by 8 pm on October 30, sent to the Attorney.

Easy to work with and never ever have a problem. They are there to help when you need it. They stopped all calls from my creditors. They have cut over 50 percent off my totals. They work with in your budget constraints as well and you can make one time payments as well.

Paying extra money for discharged amount is still like paying the whole amount owed. Which includes the amount taking out for charges for each payment that is applied to each company balance owed. Some companies are threatening with taking you to court.. Companies sell information account that are being paid by gift.

Recently retired from the Navy with about $25k in debt with multiple credit agencies. FDR helped me consolidate these into one easy monthly payment and they negotiated most of the debts for about 60% or less with very little effort required from me.

Settlement fees are too high, harder for customers to get out of debt sooner and end up paying not a lot less overall. Some Negotiations on “strategic hold” for too long. Doesn’t focus on higher cards first, leaving credit scores lower. Timing for fees being withheld makes negotiations longer.

I’m just very unhappy that it’s taking so long to pay my debt off. I have no funds for myself as long as I’m paying $210 a month here. The person I talked to was very nice. I’m just tired of being broke. Now they say I have three more years.

They lie to get you signed up then do not settle your debt! I had a judgment Placed on me for an account they were supposedly settling. I had to call and make my own Settlement. I had a credit score of 760 when I started this program. Now my score is 540. This company is a waste of time!

When I searched for which was the best agency that would do the settlements and consolidation, FDR came up first. I went with them and the program is good. It's helping me clear up my debts and a lot of issues. We set the payment plan up at the beginning then they notify me every time there is a settlement that is going to happen and if I agree on it. Everything was done correctly and I should be done by February.

When I originally got into this program I did a lot of research and I thought that I understood what I was getting into. Fast forward over a year later and I am totally confused with what I got myself into. I feel like I have to keep looking over my accounts because I have gotten in such a big mess. I found out through a review of my accounts with Freedom Debt Relief along with a 3rd party company that does consolidation loans and works with Freedom that I had multiple discrepancies in my accounts listed at Freedom. Some have since been corrected.
I wish I’ve never took this option of debt relief. I got accounts on collections some are not even noted on my Freedom record as such, even though all my creditor were/are mailing information about my accounts to Freedom. Freedom Debt Relief went through some type of protocol or Software change that I was not aware of until the consolidation company 3rd party that works with Freedom contacted me. I feel trapped because with such a mess on my finances and over $20,000 that were added by creditors as late fees on my account. I feel I don’t have any other choice but stay. Maybe this company is a better fit to other clients. I would not recommend it to anybody. This is just my opinion.

It was a long journey but it was worth it although I have to pay one bill full price but after that everything went smooth. Yes. I would recommend someone else and explain to them that you have to be patient.

I am overall satisfied but not happy about one of the debts I had enrolled being garnished from my paychecks. Program couldn’t do anything but remove the debt and still have to make payments into program while having checks garnished from other debt. Slowly but surely.

Customer service has been great with Freedom Debt Relief. At first, they said they could pay our debt anywhere between 24 to 48 months. Instead, it's actually gonna take 48 or 96 months which is double what they said initially. Still, anytime anything happens, their reps give us a call and let us know what's going on. They keep us up to date with the dashboard and how things are going. Working with Freedom Debt has helped me quite a bit. They have reduced my payments almost in half. They have done a great job for me.

Right now, I'm finished with the program and I’m sitting on cloud nine. I'm not burdened with those remaining bills anymore. Freedom Debt Relief is fantastic. I've been sharing the information and I'm referring them to friends and family because of the great experience I've had. Updated on 04/12/2021: Freedom Debt Relief has been a positive way to pay off my debt. Paying a certain amount every month is not easy but it has taught me discipline. And in doing so, my bills are getting agreed upon and paid off.

We were told it would take about 4 yrs to pay off our debt. The projected graduation date just keeps moving further and further out. We are now looking at 6 years. It doesn’t feel like we are accomplishing anything but ruining our credit forever.

Things were good this time but I feel that FDR should have been working to get us some relief with the creditors. For heavens we are in a pandemic. After all many of us were out of work for a period. Plus I feel that FDR should have waived their ridiculous fees during this time too. Fees that I feel are way too high and didn’t have a complete understanding of until it was too late.

I looked online and Freedom was one of the first options I found. I looked into the website and read up on it, then went from there. The representatives listened on everything I told them. My payment is usually the same consistent amount and if I ever have to reschedule on it, they're always pretty good with it. Freedom definitely helps me pay all those payments off very easily. Pretty much, it's very helpful for getting all my payment needs done, breaking everything down into payments and visualizing all the payments. It's good at seeing everything as it's progressing in the program.

The main thing that made me decide to go along with Freedom was the plans that they had laid out and the way they explained everything when I talked to them. They've done a pretty good job. Any time that there are changes in my account, they contact me promptly. And my ability to respond to them is very easy. I can do a response through whatever is most convenient for me. It could be through text, email, or phone call. I have access to view my account 24/7 and their customer service has been pretty spot-on for me. Freedom has been a pretty straightforward program and pretty simple too. I wish is to could pay them more so I could get my debt paid off faster. They said it would take approximately five years, give or take, with the current plan that I'm doing. We're pretty much on par for that.

I have been very disappointed in Freedom Debt Relief. I have felt mislead through the entire process. At this point we are ready to cancel our program and just settle our debt with our creditors directly. I would only advise using this program if you are absolutely in over your head and can't make payments. We had 100% payment history on our credit report, just wanted to get out of debt. This was not the right avenue for that.

Freedom explained the program to me where I pay a monthly payment and they would take care of all my debt calls. All my six debts were already taken care of. Now, they have all of them. I'm paying off all of them and some payment at once instead of punch here one month then work on another one. The payment is 500 a month and with this virus, it's really hard to make the payment right now. Freedom told me that they would have to start all over again if I can't make my payment this month. That could be done better. People should make sure to check into all credit companies before they pick the certain one right now.

They were the first company that I came across when I started looking at options. But I really didn't feel the need to look further because the reps that I interacted with were very nice, helpful and understanding. I have been having help from Freedom Debt Relief for almost three years. They just settled my last credit card for me, so very soon I will be done with the program. They definitely helped my settling all of my accounts for me, I do feel maybe settlement fees Have been taken out double sometimes. I haven't quite understood that part but overall they have helped.

I did the program for about two and a half years. I'm done with them and I just had my graduation. I didn't have to worry about everything getting paid. They did it. The only thing I didn't like about them was some of the fees seemed to be a little ridiculous.

I was offered a loan to pay off all the debts... However the loan would be for another 4 years at the same as what I am paying and it would be about $7000 interest.. Right now I should have everything paid off in 2 to 3 years.

A friend of mine used Freedom quite successfully to consolidate her debt. So I also used them to consolidate some outstanding credit card debt of about $20,000. They consolidated it and allowed me to pay it off now, after settling with the card companies. I was really comfortable working with them. I have to have processes outlined before I would initiate them. I wouldn't have gone forward if I didn't understand it.
They told me what I had to pay and then they let me pick the date that I paid it. It seemed that simple and I was pretty comfortable with the amount. It was less compared to the payments I was making to the credit card companies. But in order to complete a settlement, I had to increase my monthly payment. I called customer service and they had an answer in 60 seconds and I got everything straightened out. The customer service has always been really helpful. Being able to work out my credit card debt and walking through the process was really helpful when going through the consolidation process.

I don’t like the way you decide what debts you negotiate and when. You do so without input from your customer, who is the debtor. I think you should consult with your customer. I think you have too many employees who forget who the customer is.

I talked to a couple different companies and Freedom seemed like it was gonna be the easiest. They fixed all of the credit card debts that I had and put it into a lump sum. I started paying them one at a time and negotiating a lower settlement with them. At the very beginning, there was supposed to be some follow-up. I kept getting a post that came up on my dash that said I needed to do an introduction conversation, which I did a million times. It just never came off. Other than that, I've had fairly limited contact with them. Setting up the payment plan was pretty straightforward. The monthly payoff is still a little difficult but I know that it has to be that amount. As I started seeing things getting dealt with and paid off, there were a couple of the debts that would not negotiate. But it was not Freedom’s fault. It certainly made my monthly financing a little easier to work with.

Do not understand charging the monthly fee for October when I was told on phone Wednesday night I would not be charged. A few years ago, we tried another company but I got this sinking feeling that it really wasn't suiting our needs. It didn't seem to be working for us. I spoke with about two other companies but I was able to go with Freedom Debt based on the manner I was taken through the process. They were also more detailed and open. They took me step-by-step how to take down my debt. They also kind of educated me about the options and the laws that are in place that gives me the right option to go to offices or organizations like Freedom Debt Relief to take off my debt. They were able to match up all my debt and gave me a manageable way to reach my budget to be able to pay down my debts. They gave me options as to how much I'll be paying. It’s always good to talk to people based on the amount that they’re able to pay or their pocket to pay out for their loan.
They also have an online portal to check on my account. They give me email updates, and then I can check all the progress made on my loan payments and which credit card company is being paid. Working with Freedom Debt gives me rest of mind because now I know my debt and I can pay it off. I stopped receiving all kind of calls that I used to receive, which was really mind-boggling. They are courteous and professional workers. When you give them a call to make inquiries, they tend to answer your questions pretty well. Freedom Debt Relief is a good company. My concerns all boil down to a person not realizing what high-interest credit cards will do to you. It isn’t like you pay back $1 for $1 you're charged. You end up paying back a whole lot more than that $1. It's just like the government has given them a green light to charge over what they want to on fees, and interest rates. And before you know it, you’re in too deep, you can't get out. You have to have help.
I'm old now. I'm in my 60s, but I've had credit cards all my life and always had a perfect record. I never not paid back any debt. It was always perfect. And then, all of a sudden, one day, it was okay for them to charge 16%, 17%, 18%, 23% interest. And when that happened, all of a sudden, people couldn't ever dig their way out of a hole. The credit card company profits on their sale if you're gonna charge somebody 30% interest. I get offers in the mail right now for credit cards with 33% interest. You ever hear the beat of that? 33%. That's the goofiest thing I ever heard. And credit card companies have brought this on themselves. I'm just thankful to have heard of a company like Freedom Debt Relief that you can turn to to get some help. Everybody's not capable of climbing out of a hole when you're paying 25% 26% interest. You can never find your way out.
Ken gave me his cell phone number and told me to call him anytime I have any concerns. That was pretty neat. Not everybody’s gonna give you a personal number that you can call them and it's direct to them. That was pretty impressive. They've got it pretty well down pat. They negotiate on your behalf, and they take care of everything. All you do is just pay your fee and they do the rest of it. It's a wonderful service and a very needful thing in this day and time. If credit cards wanna pay that kind of interest, let them deal with somebody that's gonna negotiate with them. Because when you get your customer in a hole where they can't dig out, be ready to deal with somebody like Freedom Debt Relief because debt is something that credit card companies thrive on.
The credit cards have got a bit too sweet a deal for them because they can charge whatever interest rate they want to. And it’s like feeding a baby candy for every meal. Sooner or later, you're gonna have problems. And it's your fault for feeding them that many calories. This interest rate that they charge is destroying people. It finally got to me and I never reneged on a debt in my lifetime, or lose anything until rates got so high I couldn’t afford them. And all of a sudden, you can't use your credit card like you used to because they will bury you in debt.
I'm already at least two years into the program. I'm satisfied. Freedom does a good job. They let you know, just as soon as they got to the point to where they can negotiate and make the payment, and pay one of them and get rid of it, and move on to the next one. Also, they always send alerts and highlights, and let you know what they're doing and where they're at. And they keep communication open with you. Another good thing is whenever you call them, it doesn't matter who answers the phone. It doesn't have to be Ken. They would look at your file and they would all get it figured out like they have all been taught how the program works, and they're extremely knowledgeable. It doesn't matter who you talk to. They know what you're talking about. And they can tell you every move to make. They're top-notch now. I recommend them highly. If you get buried in debt, they're about the only hope you're gonna get.

You are supposed to be settling my debts and paying with the money I provide you monthly. You gave a company permission to take money out of my personal bank account. Then I called 3 times and talked to 3 different people to explain my issue. I had to tell each person what had happened because there was no notes in the account. Then I was told two different times that a manager would be in touch with me about this and the charges would be reimbursed. Not once have I been contacted and the money is still missing out of my account and it has been 5 days.
I understand you are helping me settle my debt but at the same time you are making money off of me so I shouldn't have to call you and the other company numerous times to get my money back. This means that I paid you guys this month to settle my debt and paid the company you are supposed to be paying off for me. This could be an easy mistake but the fact I have called 3 times and no one knows what is going on and I still haven't been contacted by a manager blows my mind.

While I was browsing on the internet, I came across Freedom Debt Relief. At the time, I was contemplating on getting on some kind of debt consolidation and it just so happened that they were the ones that I saw first online. The service relieved some of the stress at the time. Right now, I'm very satisfied. It gives me peace of mind. The initial person I dealt with was a male and he was very helpful. He walked me through the process at the time I signed up and it's very informative. Everything was out there. They’ve been very truthful about the process. I was planning to buy a house or a home the time I signed up so he assured me that everything will be done.
The service from Freedom was exceptional and setting up a payment worked very well. It's according to my time schedule. I wasn't forced and they let me pick out the date. They kept the creditors from harassing us and out of court. They made the process fairly easy to understand. The dashboard made things easy to keep track and reference to stay on track. We are not sure that we saved as much money in the long run but now we only pay one instead of several.

Customer service is always very kind and helpful. There have been numerous times when I needed to delay full payment for 1-6 days depending on the timing of my paycheck and it has never been a problem. Competitors call almost daily and I have zero desire to even hear what they have to say. I'm already set up with you guys and I don't have to do anything at all to deal with the creditors. I was under the impression that the only fee was taken out of my monthly payment. However I got charged a lot more in fees and therefore did not save me as much as when I had talked to the creditors myself. It should be told that there is much higher fees to follow with settlements.

A friend of mine used Freedom Debt Relief and she said they were really great. That is when I enrolled. So far, it has been amazing. I got a bunch of settlements and more to come. They check up on you to make sure everything is going good, or if you have any questions. They're very professional. Updated on 08/19/2022: Been in the program for about two years now making payments and we’re now at the point of having settled or close to settling all of the CC that I had submitted into this program. Going well, but still more time before I’m out of all this and will be able to start rebuilding my credit. The program has been helpful I would recommend it to people that have run out of options to try to stop the bleeding and get things handled with the help of FDR team.
Updated on 08/23/2021: Now that I’m in next stages. Needed more info. Don’t feel comfortable in the current steps now due to being served and going to the next level of the issues. Seems like an ok good luck in the next stages but we can’t help anymore.
Original Review: Right now I’m in the hammered with calls and email phase of the process. Looking forward to getting to the settlement phase, so I can rebuild my credit as fast as possible. Just a month or so into this am I down to a credit score of 530... ugh.

My daughter-in-law had used Freedom Debt Relief in the past and she had experience with them. She said that they always did what they said they were gonna do. I looked at a couple and checked into it but I went with her recommendation. Their customer service has always been excellent. Anytime I've had a question, they always got on it and looked into it, and found my answer. If there was a problem, they took care of it. I work with whoever is available but they all have access to the records and whatever the situation is. In the beginning, I worked with the same one but then, as I got further into the program, it would be just whoever would answer. I would say what I needed and they would take care of it. I've never had an issue. I’ve been in the program for almost two years. It was gonna take four years so I'm about half through.

I read up on Freedom Debt Relief and thought they were good. My progress was really good at first, but I had problems for a while. They were due top the pandemic and just things happening. It's my fault. It has been really good. I talked to customer service. They were very nice and helpful, and they always helped me out. My bills are getting paid. The time frame depends on what I give them to pay my bills. FDR is doing good.

I reviewed some stuff about Freedom and I thought this would be the best place for me to be there as I was trying to sort out my problem because I was having these debts. Freedom would be able to help me. They offered me a program and it's a good program. I was really doing well. But when the COVID came up, I got laid off. Now, I don't have a job. So these things have caused a little bit of a problem. Otherwise, everything was going on very smoothly. Even now, I'm really, really thankful to Freedom Debt Relief people.
They are really good in the sense that they realize the problem and they had been really helpful. It's a great experience to be with them. Everything was quick and great service. The agent gave me a quick update on my account. She talked how I only got 3 accounts left, 2 in process and 1 left to negotiate. I tried to find somebody to help me with the problem with my credit cards. I called many times different companies. When I called Freedom Debt Relief, they gave me an estimate about the payment every month and also the process. They convinced me. I like that because they called me many times and explain me everything in the process. I feel very good with their customer support because with the Coronavirus, I am off with my work for more than three months and sometimes I don't have money in my account to make a payment. But when I called them, the rep understood me all the time. I tried to find a solution for my problem. So I am happy with the company. I have given their number to other friends and family to make the same process like me.
I've been in the program for one year and a half, and my total payment is for four years. Freedom Debt Relief already closed one account and they have three more accounts. In a few months, they will close. Discovery Bank sent me a letter. I called Freedom Debt Relief and they told me to send all the document that Discovery sent. Then they gave me back some documents I need to sign and go to the notary office. I hope this week they find a solution for that problem. But right now, I feel great with the Debt Relief.

After my divorce, I had significant credit card debt. I had a very good interaction the Freedom Debt Relief rep. I stopped making payments on the credit cards, which gave them leverage in order to negotiate with the credit cards and lower a settlement for so many cents on the dollar. I know exactly what my monthly payment is that goes into my account where the settlement money is being taken out of. I'm very satisfied with the settlements they've made so far and looking forward to finishing out the term. I would talk to them, tell them to talk to the creditors, and then also compare what the debt amount is. Freedom Debt Relief can be a great resource.

I was not informed that my creditors could issue a 1099c for my settlement. I was lead to believe that my creditors were be paid over several months, not one creditor in two months while other creditors are left hanging with no settlement and I could be facing legal action. There was so much left out of what I could and should expect that I wish I would have talked to several agencies before signing a contract.

The representative helped me immensely with my questions; she stood with me on the phone while I reviewed documentation and told me additional items that were needed. I'm not satisfied with the process of how they do business. When we first started out the service was good but then things started slowly going downward. The settlements are poorly handled and there always seems to be a problem with them. They only contact the creditors once in the beginning of the program and then I end up getting sued because they do not contact them at all after that. I am not pleased with the process at all.

Overall I’m happy with the program but disappointed that so much went for fees the first year. I think more emphasis on getting debt reduced quicker and adding fees later in the program would be more beneficial for plan participant.

I had a couple of outstanding debts that I wanted to get cleared up and I needed a way to keep things structured and be able to start paying it off. I heard about Freedom Debt Relief and looked them up. Then, I called and talked to them. The rep was straight up and honest with me, and made things easy for me to be able to get what I needed to get done. It couldn't have been any simpler than the way Freedom set it up. The payment plan was good. If I needed anything, they made sure I was taken care of. They've been able to negotiate down the debt and now, I’m about to graduate from the program. I'm down to my last creditor and we’re already in the process of making payments on it. I would recommend Freedom 100% to anybody that I know that’s having any debt issues, especially large debt issues.

It seems like everything is being settled for the original amounts when we submitted balances. The interest and penalties are now so high they are almost doubled from what was originally submitted. I was hoping it was going to be quicker.

So far, it's pretty good with Freedom Debt Relief. They help me out a lot. The reason I needed the service from them was I had way too many credit cards piled up and all bills from left and right. I was paying way too much interest. When I looked online, they said Freedom Debt Relief was the best. They were the first to pop up and I gave them a call. For the payment plan, they worked it out really well with me. They have a new plan because of the pandemic going on right now. They told me I’m good until January of next year. They're gonna reset the payment again. Only thing discouraging me right now is I'm not working so I cannot provide any payments to them. But they saved me. It relieved a lot of stress from me. I don't have to be worried about these credit cards.

We purchased our house and there was a lot more that needed to be fixed there than what we realized. We used a credit card and then after the year, we still didn't pay it off, so we ended up having to get another one. Interest rates were getting too bad. One thing led to another and we ended up having a few credit cards that the interest rates were just killing us where we almost got to the point where we couldn’t make minimum payment. We decided to get ahead of ourselves and join Freedom Debt Relief, after months of searching different places, that way we could get our debt paid off before we got ourselves into trouble or to the point where we couldn’t afford to pay. They have one of the highest star ratings along with what other people have stated. We've also known other people that have looked into them as well.
We chose the six years program but we end up paying on a little bit extra just so that we could get everything paid off sooner. From day one, any questions, no matter how small, they would answer. What I loved about them is that they never made me feel stupid. One of the questions I had was about if we wanted to add extra payment and how we’d do that. They calmly explained and they didn't use too much of big words. We understood what they were saying. The lady that we worked with was amazing. No matter what time, we could call. One time it was 9 o'clock at night and they answered right away and were very helpful.
We have two different debit card accounts. Freedom only allows one at a time, which makes us feel better because of all the fraudulent things that are going on in the US. They talked with step by step, let us know that they're gonna start with a smaller credit first and then work their way up to the biggest ones. They explained that after we get a certain amount accrued then they go after certain creditors. They let us know which step they're in step by step. They let us know when their targeted date is for that specific credit and they don't do anything without consulting us. So, if we don't agree on a settlement, then they'll go back and try to rebut. They've saved us so much money on all of the credit cards, ‘cause a lot of it was just interest.
I didn't expect the company to be that good. It was definitely the right decision. We have two credit cards completely paid off on and then we did a consolidation loan with their sister company to get the other two knocked out. Freedom has been with us literally every step of the way. I am glad we did it. We've been really satisfied and we finally have a breathing room. This year, we don't have to worry about which bill to pay during the winter, because we're paying over $800 in just credit card debt ‘cause most of its interest. It’s worth it.

I searched online who was better and Freedom Debt Relief came up. That was how I picked it. The process was pretty easy. They just asked what was it I wanted and they told me how they were going to do it. I have a year and a half left and I just have one-third of it. I will have the cards paid off faster that way than I would’ve on my own. The service is good. You can look online on your account or you just call and talk to somebody.
