This program has been an answer to my prayers and has helped me beyond words. I’m not done with my program yet but I’m made a lot of progress and I have been helped in every step of the way. I haven’t ever felt like I was alone or if I had any questions I could get answers quickly. If anyone needs help with debt this program is definitely worth looking into.

I was thirty-plus thousand dollars in debt. I had a business and unfortunately, an event occurred and it caused me to go for a downward plunge. By the time I got finished with what all of these credit card companies charged me, I was way well over my head. I was starting a new life and a new job. I didn't wanna claim bankruptcy because I wanted to do it the right way, regardless if it’s wrong, right, indifferent. I started searching for different programs on the internet and I came across Freedom Debt Relief. Once I researched it, I called them and asked them what they could do for me. They answered the questions that I had such as what are the legalities and can they protect me from anyone suing me. I had already lost everything but I wanted to start over fresh. I didn't want my checks garnished.
They kinda gave me an overview of what they could do and how they work. At that point, I was submitting to any kind of alternative option to get my debt taken care of. I gave them the ball and I had to trust them blind faithfully. I've heard other people in my family saying, "I don't know if that's such a great thing. Maybe you should rethink it." But I couldn't. There were too many accounts and I couldn't manage that all on my own. I needed professional help to help me do it if I wasn't gonna bankrupt.
Freedom Debt Relief has been awesome with me and they've helped me get through it. We've gone a long way in a short period of time. They've been a great benefit to me. My credit scores have increased. I don't have anybody antagonizing me to take anything away from me. The legal aspect of it stopped. If I call them, they're very open to answering any of my questions and in a way that I can understand. I appreciate them very much.
There was a small discrepancy from what they told me though. On the program itself, it states that they can get anywhere between 50% and 75% off of whatever it is that you owe. They gave me a projection, how to make that happen and when I would have a graduation date. As we go along the program, I started to realize that the first few of them were nicely done. I had saved over 50%. Then it started to dwindle down to 45% savings. They said we were gonna have to extend my graduation date. It's not gonna be four years, it's gonna be four and a half years. Those types of things get people to where they're standoffish. You start to not wanna trust them. With the way things are working in life right now, anything is fearful. We get fearful for any little discrepancy. They could let the consumer know if we were to go ahead and give another $10 or $15, we could make it in the same amount of time.
What they do after everything's said and done is to take away the extra fees that they put on there which is the interest and the late fees. So, in reality, I'm paying that principal amount which is okay. But it goes to my credit report and it states that I've only paid a portion of it when I have paid the whole principal. Once you pay, they just incorporate that all in that 50% off. I end up paying the whole thing anyways.
Another thing is if they find that that you have another account with Freedom Debt Relief and you agree to add it, that's gonna increase your deposit by so much. You're gonna have to go ahead and extend the amount of time you'll be with the program. If I have to pay for the program, that means that on top of that account being added and me being passed on months or years as we go along, I also have to pay the 9.99 and the 19.99. That's an extra $30 per month times how many months I have to be with the program extended.
But in the end, thank God that I was able to come this far in such a short time and they were able to tackle this big mess that we put us in. It was over 30 accounts and I should be appreciative. I have so much respect for them and I appreciate everything they've done. I would totally suggest them to anyone that goes through the same. I hope nobody goes through what I went through but I'm sure that there are people, especially with this coronavirus, that will walk through the same path I did in a short time, and I will represent Freedom Debt Relief with a good review.

They have settled three of my debts and working on my last one. They have done a great job. They have saved me money on these loans. They keep me informed on my progress and on my graduation date they let me know if there is a problem with one of my debts.

Was told my debt would be resolved in 4 years. Have been in the program 2 years. One debt just negotiated for 3 yr pay off. Still 2 more to be negotiated. Do not see how the 4year mark is even feasible. Not happy about it.

Freedom Debt has taken a great burden off me. I didn't think I would make it without having to go through Bankruptcy but Freedom Debt gave me a peace of mind so that I can be contented and I can be Debt free within about a year earlier. This account was not paid off on time and went to court due to a lack of communication from FDR. I was told earlier in the year that all accounts were paid off to find out this one was not due to a change in mailing address for the account to be billed. Not my error, but FDR’s error to follow up.

My husband and I had many credit cards and medical bills that we couldn’t handle anymore. We looked into several debt recovery companies and FDR was the best we could see. A couple of years later, we are able to buy a new vehicle and get our credit scores up. They keep you posted at all times on what they are doing and send emails when they are ready to start processing the next debt. I heard Freedom Debt Relief through an advertisement on Pinterest. The post was cleaner and it had a better look to it. When I finally made the call to them, the sales guy did a lot of work. He sold me on it and I signed up. I had a few credit cards from when I had a lawn maintenance business and my business went under 'cause I started late in the summer and I was trying to live off of it. I couldn't pay off the credit cards anymore and Freedom had their solution. They not just took over the payments but negotiated the debt and did all the legwork. I had a question right after I started and it was about how the payments were working and where the money was going exactly. I called the salesperson and he explained it to me. A couple months ago, I called again to their help line and got more knowledge I didn't know the first time. They do really good with the customer service.
Initially, it was good to give myself that room to breathe and the ability to pay things off. But overall, I regret it. Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't go through it again if I was in the same position. I could have just picked up a second job like I ended up doing anyway and just paying stuff off faster. I wouldn't have had to let go of all those credit lines and I wouldn't have had to ruin that history and those relationships with the bank. One of the big sales pitches that the salesperson was giving me was that the banks aren't really your friends. They're only there to get their money. But at the end of the day, a credit card is like a business agreement. I agree to borrowing the money and I will pay it back on my time 'cause there's a pretty low minimum payment. I just owe a little bit of money in the difference. The bank can be your enemy or they can be your friend. You can make an enemy out of them if you want and it's kinda what I did with Discover and Chase a little bit.

I turned everything over to FDR and never had any more problems. What else can I say - 5 stars. I will recommend this program to my friends. I did get a few calls from creditors at first, I just give the number provided by FDR and calls stop.

I recently got a call from a collection agency. They told me that Freedom Debt Relief had never contacted them regarding my account. I settled the account with them myself and when I told freedom debt relief to remove that account from my active debts, they told me I needed to send them proof. My word should have been enough! Obviously they had done nothing with this account for 3 years! I wish I had just dealt with all my creditors myself! Now I’m paying them for what I could have done myself! Plus when I signed up they told me that the fees would be paid for by the credit card companies! I have been charged through the nose!

The program has taken a while because I’m in so much debt but so far, it’s good. Freedom is helping me. They don't call me though. All I get is email from them and a bunch of articles and videos. I have to call them if I have any questions. But I would recommend Freedom because it's better than to file bankruptcy. They do negotiate with the creditors and keep you off their backs.

Happy with the program so far. I’ve been in program for a little over 3 months and when I call Freedom Debt relief they were very helpful with any questions I’ve had. The enrolment was easy. Freedom did pretty much all the work. They were easy to work with. They accommodated my needs and was available when I needed them. I've been in the program for about a year and a half and at this point, I've changed over to Consolidation Plus. All my debts should be settled so I'm starting working on increasing my credit. I would recommend Freedom to someone who has high debt rates.

I got their consolidation service to help me pay off the debt that I have. We spoke about the situation I was in and what amount that I owed. They made a plan for me and how they would handle this. They took it step-by-step and how everything would break down, and what the fees would be, and the time frame that I would have to pay all this stuff. Then I had to drop out for a while because both of my parents passed away a couple of years ago, and I had to take over the house payments. I finally came back.
I had a situation before with one of Freedom's partners, where the guy came out too strong and was asking me about how the breakdown would be, and that it was faster to pay it that way. I told him that I didn't want to go that route. I just want to stay with Freedom Debt because I don't have all the money. He then said they were gonna put up the money for me. He kind of laughed about it and said that he never heard nobody turn down this situation where they were gonna go. I didn't like that he was trying to force me to do something I don't want to do. My situation was that everything was going to come up to about $13,000 at the way I was doing it. But the way he wanted to approach it was, if I pay off this loan and then there was all this interest rate, it was going to come up to 20,000. He apologized afterward and told me, "Yeah. You're right. I shouldn't approach it by telling you that.”
I'm comfortable with Freedom right now. The first time I was with them, I was paying $111. They first told me that everything with the breakdown was there, and it was going to come up to 111. Then they wound up telling me that they have to bump up the payment a little bit because of something about the account that they were trying to negotiate. But then the rep changed the subject and said it was something about the lawyers. So from $111, I had to bump it up to $117.
I had another experience not too long ago, where one of my creditors wanted to take me to court. The rep wanted to go from $117 to $240. But that's something I can't afford. I told him that if that was going to be the case, then I would cancel everything and find another organization that can come up and help me with this situation. I had to call another department that handles all the lawyer situation. So he told me, "Well, how does 127.50, another $7 or somewhere around there, $8?" I told him I can go ahead and do that. When I was with Freedom a couple of years ago, I never had this situation. They were handling everything pretty good. I didn't have to deal with lawyers. But overall, they're still doing a good job even though they have those little situations because they're trying to push me to pay off all the debt in a quicker pace.

When I first talked to the rep, he was okay. They have good quality service. They take 300 something out of my account every two weeks. They're still working on some of the cases. But it's kind of hard paying them right now, because I got laid off in May.

Freedom is very fair and very professional. The reps have been good. I've been dealing with the same person and it only changed when we changed from the credit consolidation to the new one. When we got to the end of the first period in the middle of it, they started switching me over to a buy-out of some sort to pay off the debt quicker. They didn’t discuss it until they were ready to do it. If they have said that in the beginning, we would have been prepared to do that. But they didn’t force me to do it. They gave me the opportunity and it was my choice. The payment stayed the same. That's what the deal was. They paid my debt off and now I have a loan through them I have to pay off and the payment doesn't start until February.

I was straight to the point in what I wanted and the rep gave me all the information I needed, and then I enrolled. All of my question was answered right away. There was one time somebody called me for one debt. It was almost at the end of the settlement. I checked with the lawyer with FDR and they told me that as long as I don’t get a physical paper about it, I should ignore it. So I ignored it. It's been good so far.

Freedom Debt Relief got me enrolled into a program that was in my budget where I could pay the monthly payment. I was paying over 1,300 a month on credit cards. With Freedom, I am paying about 600 a month. They take out half and half twice a month and they tell me. I'm in a three-year program and I have two more years to go to. The reps were very kind. They were very thorough when I asked. It was the big thing for me. You have to tell me what my payment is gonna be and when you’ve taken it out so I can have that money available, and they did. They’re thorough. They will tell you everything they're doing every step of the way.

I did a lot of research before making a decision to work with FDR. I recommend that a lot of thought should be put into a decision this big and don't be afraid to ask questions. FDR representatives have been good at staying in contact with me. I had my first two settlement agreements within a couple of months. The subsequent ones have been slower, but that's really not a bad thing. I am happy that I chose to pay for the legal representation since one of my creditors did serve me. It was settled within days of my lawyers getting involved.
My two pieces of advice (other than do your research before signing on) are to pay the extra money for the legal team and be prepared to pay taxes on the amount that your debt gets reduced by. Sure, you may qualify for insolvency and not have to pay taxes, but if you're like me, you will have to pay. Again, do the math and estimate what you think you may owe and put that money aside when you first get the settlement agreement. Also, this isn't a non-profit. The company makes money off you; don't be shocked when you see their % come out of your account. Overall, FDR is helping me get back on my feet after years of bad financial decisions. Do your research and be patient.

The company charged too much and the last credit card I paid more. No savings. With all the fees and 1099R there wasn't much of a savings, would not do it again. And the lawyer they have was more for the credit card side, he was not helpful.

The rep told us what he assumed we were going to save, what the final cost was going to be, how many years it was gonna take us to get that paid off, and what our expected payment was each month. He was very thorough and gave us what we needed to know. We’re very happy with how Freedom is handling things. They're a very reliable and dependable company and things are moving along. It’s easy to get through to them on the phone and I'm 100% satisfied. The payment is high and we have to live so we still have other costs of living expenses but Freedom helped us at the moment not have to deal with the individual companies. I found Freedom Debt Relief via online, just searching for different things that helped me at the time. I was doing reviews, and I liked what I read about Freedom Debt Relief as far as from other consumers and reviews. The debt consultant was wonderful. From the moment he picked up the phone, and we introduced ourselves, he helped me all through the way. We talked about three times. Right that day and the next day after, he was very professional.
I haven't completed the program. However, they have been working exceptionally well with me. So far, I have about two of my debts that have been resolved. The third one should be resolved between this month and next month. Everything that was explained to me when I first signed up is true. I was told, "It's not a quick fix situation, it’s going to take time, but just bear with us, and we'll get you to the finish line." Slowly but surely, I'm getting there. I already have recommended a friend about two months after I signed up. If anybody else that I know, friend wise, maybe will need help debt wise, I would definitely recommend them as well.

The explanation on the program over the phone was presented by a person talking too fast. The program is too long in duration. No explanation as to what is done with the monthly fees before creditors get them. I think this program in itself stinks worse than a pig sty. I would appreciate it if it was cancelled on my behalf. I have been with FDR for a few years now. Of the 6 enrolled accounts, I've settled or paid 4 of them myself. I've been trying to close the last one for a month. NLLG and FDR need better communication, as one side tells me I have enough funds, the other says no. I finally had to withdraw all accounts. I'm at the end of my rope. Very poor service.

I am not happy that you take your fees upfront before paying any of my debts and that the payments are so small... I would like less debts paid with a greater amount paid each month... and the fees to be spread out instead of all at the front end.

Freedom tried to settle for the least amount they could. That amount was then taken out every month. But sometimes, that gets hard to pay especially when I'm drawing unemployment. FDR doesn't give me much of a leeway if I have something big and I can't pay the payment. They don't try to work with me. Even though I'm hurt, they gotta know I am hurting for cash. Other than that, what I was paying versus what I was gonna pay was a pretty good deal for me.

Updated on 11/24/2021: We were not expecting the balance to double or triple in some cases the longer before the debt was negotiated. I was under the impression it would be put on hold and the debt we owed would be paid. Interest and late fees made a difference of over 15,000 in debt in addition to what we entered in the program.
Original Review: My wife and I were under the belief Freedom Debt has the ability to put accounts on hold until they could be negotiated. However, several accounts have not been worked yet and is leading to several accounts taking us to court for far more money than we submitted to the program.

I was very satisfied with everything until the last request to pay on the last loan. I told the man that I was old, sick and had little money. I thought it was only for the year. Not so. I have medical problems and require a lot of medicine. I told him this but now this loan goes on. I thought it would be over by now. Many days I go without food. Last year's holidays did not exist. This year's is a repeat. I am 77 years old and can't make a move. Things in my house are falling apart. Once I was happy but not now.

I think the Fees are high. I don’t know how it works but the higher the balance the higher the fees. However I doubt it takes more time to settle high balance over a lower balance and after the fees are added in some of the balances are almost the same as when started.

Well just recently Discover card ordered me to pay the full amount. That was very upsetting. I was assured all of the creditors would settle. You’re at the mercy of the associate when you sign on for this program trusting what they say will happen and it didn’t. Now my program was extended yet again by years! That’s upsetting. We’re the lawyers. Good enough? Did they fight hard enough for me? To not have my balanced lowered by not one penny? Doesn’t sound right. I know they are a hard company but we truly have a hardship with my husband on disability. Doesn’t seem like a hard fight but in fact we lost! I am not happy.

I’ve been on the program for 2 years now and I’ve pay off some debt and saved money but the last two larger accounts I’ve had settled for way more than I owed. Sure I didn’t have to pay fees but that adds more time to the program. Now I owe more for longer and my credit isn’t building as fast as I need it. It is now 2020 and the company is now in violation of that court order and they are still practicing the same ways they did for which they were sued!

I was told to stop paying completely. Therefor my interest stacks up, and my late fees. Which helps with a better settlement. Well, law firm got involved and couldn’t do a thing so I’m stuck paying all of my fees and interest which I was told not to pay. I should not have to pay this extra amount. I could’ve avoided all this if I paid it off earlier on my own. I thought FDR was supposed to relieve my debt and get a lower price. Not screw me over and make my payment double and my one card double in price.

I have had a great experience so far. I am just getting started so not much is happening which is normal. I have always paid my bills on time. Due to Covid my business suffered and I fell behind on my credit cards and I wasn’t able to make payments. Freedom Debt Relief has saved me from this financial setback and now I can continue to keep my business and get my credit back at a good standing, by approving and helping me with this program when I desperately needed it. I am self employed and work cleaning residential duct systems and also an HVAC specialist with 22 years experience. For the 1st time in 14 years, I wasn’t able to work for The first quarter of the year. Those 3 months I lived off my savings and was not able to pay my credit cards. Most people didn’t want any contractors in their home due to this pandemic. Business finally picked up and I have returned to work. It is still slower than previous years but slowly we are getting back to our normal everyday work.

I was thinking about consolidating my loans, and a Freedom Debt advertisement came up, and I decided to call. I spoke to Joshua and he was very patient. He walked me through the process and explained everything to me. I went into a debt settlement program because I was making a bunch of payments, and it got expensive, and then it was just minimum payments. I found that it was a little easier to make a one lump sum payment, and hopefully negotiate for a lower balance on making payments.
Freedom was able to come up with the amount that I’ve been able to stick to. I could also make an additional payment to help the process which is I'm hoping to do. My credit score initially went down because we had to wait and negotiate and make payments. But my credit score is heading in the right direction now. I wish the process was a little bit sooner. Then as far as negotiating the debt, I have one more left and I’m still waiting. I'm trying to find out exactly how much it is, so I can make that last deposit so I could be done, then one more that needs to be negotiated. The whole goal is trying to pay off debts as quickly as possible.
People should make sure that this is something that they wanna do because, initially, it would impact their credit score. But other than that, it is a good program to get into if they're trying to negotiate and trying to get one payment, which is easier to manage versus making minimum payments with interest and can make it harder to pay off their balance.

Freedom Debt Relief works with you to try and help get you out from under your debt without causing you to drown. I've worked with several reps when I've called and they've been very polite and knowledgeable. If you happen to have a really rough time, you can call in to see if they will either stop that payment and add it to the end or cut it in half. They have done that for me before. They have cut the payment in half and they did that for six months. It really helped out. I've only had it one time, and this has been a while too, where I've asked them to not take the payment out and I was kind of refused so that took me aback. It was a shock because the company has helped me before. It was like they didn't have the time. The statement was I've gone into the deal and I knew what I was getting into. But maybe it was just a bad day for them or maybe the rep was new or maybe I just misunderstood her attitude.

Took 2 person, 2 different calls to get some answer, need it answer on what is happening, have $$ just sitting in there. 2 of my debts went to a lawsuit. Have I more I don't want another lawsuit, I not happy.

I had some debts and enrolled into the program. From the very start the person I talked to was very informative and made sure that I understood what was going on. They check in throughout the whole process usually with an email. They make sure you understand what they are doing and why. Everyone I’ve talked to or chatted with has been so helpful and friendly. Paying the extra for the lawyer service was so worth it when one of my creditors tried to serve me with a garnishment after not wanting to settle.

I sent the request to terminate within 3 days and received a call a few days later saying it was being submitted. Fast forward 2 weeks and another withdraw came out of my account. So I reached out to customer service chat and they tell me repeatedly that I had to follow up with a phone call in order to finish processing it. Nowhere in the termination paper does it say that and when I got the call they just said to call if I had questions, not that I was required to call. So I call customer service where I am told That yes I was supposed to call and I have 3 calls ahead of me. After 7 minutes of being on hold, I get told there’s SEVEN calls ahead of me. I then get disconnected. Tried to call again multiple times where I either couldn’t hear them or I would just randomly get disconnected.
Finally I get through to someone ELSE who tells me that with the termination within 3 days I am NOT required to call and to top it off, they never even submitted my paperwork. So now I’m out roughly $40 in fees because they didn’t bother to terminate when I requested it. Definitely would not recommend this program to anyone! They were dishonest and no two people that I spoke to gave me the same answer. Absolutely terrible experience.

I didn't know an extra payment could only be made through your primary account you had on file so I wasn't able to make an extra payment. The customer service representative was very courteous when explaining. I do wish that accts already settled could still have the option to be paid off earlier than agreed settlement.

Extremely grateful that I found out about this company through an internet advertisement. I been with them for almost 2 years and we already got about half of my debts settled. This company will help you worry less about your debts. Just make sure you make your bi-weekly deposits and they will do the rest. Customer service is awesome along with very helpful. There are pros and cons to everything, and the downside is, that in order for them to do anything, you'll have to stop making payments on your debts which will affect your credit.
But hey, imagine paying thousands of dollars a month in debt and now you are only paying a few hundred a month depending on your situation and what they can offer? That's the pro. The risk is that your credit will be affected. But remember, in economics they have a saying, Risk and Reward, sounds familiar? There is a risk to everything in life and with risks, comes rewards and if you're struggling to pay debts, then FDR is the right place for you.

So far I am very pleased with how they handled my first account, hope the rest goes as well. They keep you informed on the accounts and when they will be working on the next account. The only thing I don't like are the calls from creditors but that goes along with the program.

There was some confusion - and even know - I thought that I was to go the 4yr route at 100.00 a month. The paperwork states 2yr at 200.00 a month. I know that I agreed w/ Michael on the 4yr at 100.00. He said that was the best for me.

We spoke about what was my remaining balance, I am trying to pay the full amount to accelerate the process of settling with my last (2) two creditors. I was looking for a way to be able to still pay the bills. I looked online and found Freedom Debt Relief. They make you stop paying your bills so they can negotiate with them but I was at the point where I couldn't make them all anyways. The payments are based on what your debt load is and how much you can handle. I'm paying as much as I can possibly pay right now. There were two times that I could not make the payments ‘cause something came up. That was a major life issue where I needed the money. Because of that, I called them to say they couldn't take the payment out that month and they were fine.
They're fantastic and this is unheard of in this day and age. I've never had a time where I've called them and the person on the other end of the phone didn't understand what they were doing and how they were doing it. No matter who answers over there, when dealing with my case, and sometimes you feel anxiety and stress dealing with that kind of situation on my end, they've always put me at ease. They've always known the answers to the questions I have. I'm pretty shocked by that because there are multiple questions sometimes and they have all the answers. The whole thing's a pain in the butt when you think about it in a life situation. But at the same time, when I call them, I do feel like I'm getting relief.
They have the service where if you need an attorney, it's 12 or 13 bucks a month extra which is what I'm paying. There have been a couple of times I've received a summon and their national law litigation group gets on it right away. I've never had to go to court since I've been with them because their attorney group has always stepped right up and got it taken care of. They don't call that attorney group as often as you'd like. Sometimes you need to call them for an update. You get close to the court date and you're wondering if you need to go to court. But for what you're getting from a bunch of attorneys at that price, if I need to call them once in a while, even though it's a pain in the butt, I'll do it. It's always been good news when it's close to the time where I'm supposed to go to court.
