I was stressed out with the loss of jobs and needing work. Talked with this company after looking online about choices that could be made. I wanted debt to be paid but not possible with the 30% interest being added and late fees. They explained the how and the cost. It fit my need and understood the plan. I will be debt free in 4 years.

Late payment by FDR caused the creditor to get an attorney and thus serve me with court papers. In order to contact me, the sheriff contacted my ex husband, and alerting him of there being a credit issue. The icing - being served at my place of work. All this could have been avoided had FDR paid my creditor on time, arrangements were already in place to pay off their amount. Just disappointed over the whole ordeal. Otherwise, more than satisfied with their negotiations up to this point.

Excellent service from FDR and I thank you. I hope to get back to work soon and continue trying to make payments as before. Out of work since early September 2020 and it's not looking good here. Even at 69 I am in good health and enjoy my work. Just don't move as fast as the younger guys.

I looked at two or three companies on the internet and Freedom Debt seemed to have the better reviews. Initially, the young man was so helpful. I talked to him two or three times and he told me exactly what was gonna happen and how they were going to do it so I was prepared. I watched the videos on how to talk to the creditors who would call hounding me and I enjoyed knowing what to do when they call. Every time I had a question and called customer service, everybody I talked to was excellent. Other than the harassment calls I've got from creditors, everything was good. I handled it just like they told me to. I started a dedicated account with them and started making monthly deposits. I had nine and they settled them one at a time. Finally, I got them all paid off. I would highly recommend them to anyone that in this position I was in.

I enrolled into a debt relief plan with FDR in 2018. In October of 2020 I choose to make a one time deposit over the total FDR estimated total settlement amount in order to expedite the last 2 settlements early and move on. I contacted FDR and verified the amount due. I informed them I would stop the monthly automatic bank deposit and asked them to expedite the last 2 settlements. They agreed. It's been almost 5 months and FDR has deposited my money in their account, suspended my account since the automatic bank withdrawal was cancelled, not responded to my emails, and not settled the last 2 accounts! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM !

I'm happy with their customer service, but when I signed up it was for $300 per month but it's taken it bi-Weekly which causes us hardship. When I spoke to them there was nothing they could do. This causes some payments not met.

FDR service has been great until the most recent settlement (which did go to litigation) with Comenity Bank, specifically the Meijer’s account. Comenity has been reported to the BBB because of deceptive practices in which they have been given permission to automatically withdraw payments from a debtors to a creditor, say for $200, but when the very last payment on a debt is due under the amount typically withdrawn, say $120, they do not withdraw it and then apply late fees to said account and do not work with the person who has made EVERY payment to that point on time. Comenity has lost business for the company’s, like Meijer’s, Sears, and others, they represent. My experience has been no different.

The lady I dealt with when I originally started was awesome. She did help me follow up and do some things that I needed. My experience was excellent. They answered all my questions, got my debt going on for me and everything seemed to be fine. They've done everything we asked them to do. But it'd be nice to have a case manager. You have their name in the phone, they call you and say, “Go on your email. We've settled up this amount for you. You might want to get into this as soon as you can so we can get this thing settled.” It'd be nice once in a while to get a call from somebody asking how's everything going. Also, when I checked my credit, all those things that were paid off are not considered paid off. They're considered write-off. But they were so good that I had my wife go on that same program and it's doing a great job for her.

I wished I would have handled this financial crisis myself and reach settlement agreements on my own with my creditors. I would have been better off with repairing and rebuilding my credit worthiness (score) and completion of the program in a more expedited way.

The service provided by FDR is great! I am now get back to good financial health. When I first began with FDR, I was deeply fighting to pay off a bunch of credit card and other debt. FDR made it easy for me to collect my debt invoices and create a list to which I later submitted to FDR. Now, almost two years later, most of my existing debt has been cut in half and some has been completely been paid off.

Updated on 7/16/2023: I am so very thankful for Freedom of Debt Relief for helping me with the large debt I had. Due to my husband’s long illness I was left with a large debt. It took all our savings and I had to use credit cards to live. He was on life support at home. All will be paid in 2025. Thanks FDR.

They've been taking care of over $10,000 in debt on my end with excellent results, and their communication is also friendly and reliable. Freedom Debt Relief was recommended to me by a coworker who was in their program as well. I had too many credit cards and I was making the minimum payment. Freedom consolidated everything and they did pretty well. I got a lot less collection calls. I only had one instance when the consultant wasn't very knowledgeable nor really good at helping me in the phone call. But, Freedom got someone to call me back. Other than that, it was a good experience using their service. I've just paid off everything by making a lump sum payment on the debt. Being with FDR helped a lot in the way of lessening pressure on paying everything and getting minimum payments paid.

In 2017, after buying a home and adding new debts to a previous pile load of debts, I was at 81000$ in secured debts. 30 K for a Personal Loan and % credit cards each at 10 Grand. I had the bandwidth to pay only 1 Grand each month and the interest was eating up. I could not afford the car loan and mortgage and all housing expenses. I am the only earning member in my family. With poor medical insurance, each year the deductibles and coinsurances were also adding up on credit card debt. I enrolled with FDR. My debts were far higher even for FDR but they helped me and accommodated me for a 55 month program.
At 40 months, they had paid off all my credit cards and negotiated my personal loan to 12 k from 30 K. They had given me a low interest personal loan to graduate me early. I was initially suspicious of the loan and refused their call. After about 6 months, I went back to them and requested for the loan myself. Now Having graduated, I see that my score only increased 20 points in 3 months. I am keeping my fingers crossed to see if my score would increase. I am still at 585 and cannot refinance my mortgage at this point. I am getting a few new credit cards with low limits though. FDR is a genuine company and definitely not a scam. They would push their limits to help you. My total debts settled including fees were 55,000 and original debt was around 81000.

I've had a horrible experience with this company. I've been lied to on three different occasions. I'm told I'm done with the program. No more payments. I now have plenty of funds to pay off my debt and I'm not able to bc of a stipulated agreement. Now I'm told I owe another $1500 to complete the program. What a complete nightmare!

Chase was one of the creditors on my account but I could have settled my debt with them cheaper than what Freedom did. I was told that whoever was working on my behalf with FDR could get it cheaper but they did not. They waited and waited. By the time they closed and settled, the cost was $2,500 more than what I could have settled. Also, FDR is working on my debt with First National Bank. My understanding when we negotiated everything was that everything was all in the contract and it was all frozen. This was not the case. They let the interest grow and grow.
One of the debts they settled for $5,000 less than what I owed. So lo and behold, I have to claim that $5,000 as income on my income tax. So, I get no income tax back. Freedom says I can use a form 392 to offset that. For the last three years, I've tried to use form 392 and I cannot use it. There's nobody in Freedom that can explain that form to me. Not only am I paying 432 every month, but I also have to claim that on my taxes. This was all fine print that we weren't informed of. There is also a service fee every month. Whatever FDR saves me, I have to pay 27% of that. Freedom just lured me in. Now, everything that I've turned in has set for two years. There's no getting out because I've let my creditors set for two years on idle. I would not recommend FDR unless you have no other way out at all.

Just not informed on when my credit is going to improve. Rep do not have a great acumen when it comes to the process or road map to credit improvement. I had several examples where the rep sent me to another to response to my TFI. The advertisement is a bit ambiguous. Also, the fee is pretty high for my taste.

I think their service is fair, it’s very slow and steady but that’s the business. Resolutions get done and the communication is very open. I feel like this is a good service. I was swimming in debt. FDR took 12 of my credit cards with outstanding balances and reduced my monthly payment to 1 easier and lower payment. They will settle with each creditor on a lower balance in time. The best part, the monthly interest that was accruing with each account is gone. I never would have been able to pay the cards off with the minimum payments I was making.

Something that would be very informative would be another line on any proposed settlement that also shows what the FDR fee will be so I know the total savings AND the cost of the service. So instead of a 48% reduction, in actuality, it might be 55% when the fee is included.

It's been very good customer service. From the first day I called, everybody has been great. If it's a situation you've never been in before, they give you the respect and the courtesy. They guide you through it where it's easy to understand and they don’t make it very difficult. Also, the follow up from them is really good. The customer service that I have received so far has been extremely helpful. I was very concerned about my debt and the situation surrounding that and the person who helped was amazing in comforting me and making me feel better about my decision. The enrollment process at Freedom was fine. I am still in the program, but I have had some issues, like them not calling all my debtors when I first gave them the list so that they know that Freedom was the contact person. They only call them when they get ready to negotiate a settlement, whereas I've got people hanging out there almost three years now, wanting money from me. I'm still getting calls because Freedom Debt Relief hasn't called them because they're not ready to negotiate. For an old woman who's on a fixed income, this is not what I had in mind. I've had to seek out the legal aspect of it because they couldn't come to an agreement to decrease on a couple of them. I'm not happy with Freedom Debt Relief.

I really feel your settlement fees are expensive. The money I Save isn’t quite as expected but overall it is in the good category. On one of my small settlements you stated I saved 80 % but I really didn’t save 5% after your fees,

I just got done paying on my debts. This experience caused me more stress! While my debts are paid now, I would not recommend this to anyone else. There are better ways to negotiate debt. Lesson learned! I would recommend other options before trying this one.

My original settlement contract with my account at Navy Federal was erroneously voided. It took several weeks to resolve. During that time I was flooded with texts and emails asking me to accept a new settlement. Causing A LOT of stress and anxiety I did not need or deserve! Communication was lacking and I was not given any real answers. I had to call in several times to try and push for a resolve. This was a horrible experience. Once I am finished paying this I hope to never need it again, and will NOT be recommending it to anyone I know.

It is an easy process. Does take some a little longer than I expected, but I have been very satisfied so far. I would recommend anyone in this situation to contact FDR as soon as they know they need help. I am very happy that I did.

Freedom Debt Relief has been easy to work with and they are helpful. My expectation was that they would negotiate for large reductions in debt because of their size but with fees it works out to the same amount if I had made a schedule and paid it off myself. I recommend them if you are truly in a bind and overwhelmed. If you have more leeway, do it yourself.

Not sure they are negotiating the best settlement. Recent example Transworld Systems Inc on my SunTrust account $1000 vs, ?$450--really! And this submission remarks is another example of communicating my concerns! Terrible, terrible, terrible! Over and over and over again I deal with this problem.
