I couldn’t be more pleased with the progress Freedom Debt has made in settling my credit card debt and getting them paid off. I’m two years into the program and will soon be debt free. Updated on 07/29/2022: I spoke to the representative on the phone and I was very impressed so I trusted him. The program is perfect. I have 10 more months to go and I'm all done. Freedom Debt Relief has made us feel freer. We've been very happy with them.

I am a few months from graduating! I was beyond stressed about debt. The process is seamless, the people who work there are ALL really helpful and nice. I sleep now. Highly recommend. I do not like the structured settlements because it seems like they stretch the program out longer meaning more deposits. Sure, the accounts are getting paid without me having to do the negotiating. So, we are still in the program and will at least be in the short term.

Creditors decide the timeframe of the payment plan, which we can use to our advantage and settle multiple accounts at once versus using your entire deposit on one settlement. Remember, we need funds to accumulate for negotiations, small payments to one creditor allows us to use available funds for other settlements. Work with you all the way, and save tons of money. Also it give you a second chance to build your credit and start fresh. Some of the settlements were difficult but the customer service folks were able to get it done. I am in the final phase, hopefully all works out, the plan will be execute within the next few weeks.

The cutoff date seem like it too long. They do reach out to confirm my updates. Why not pay off the lowest amount first. I tried to purchase a air conditioner unit. But my Credit report was denied. My Credit report is important.

I signed up and they determined the amount I needed to pay each month. They made contact with all my creditors and negotiated an amount, which was a lot lower than I owed. Now 3 more payments and I’m finished. Thanks.

I am very happy I have gone with FDR to help me with my debt. My circumstances made it hard for me to pay my bills. FDR was able to take the stress from me and pay off my creditors. They are very helpful, always there when I had a question or problem. Hope I would not need them in the future but I am glad I know they are there.

The 21% over the settlements is abusive, even more charge $10.00 for each creditor pay check (suppose to be included in the settlement). I am paying more than the debt I had at the beginning. I don’t recommend nobody this company, that’s all lies, I was informed I was going to pay about 70% less the original debt, it’s a lie, by the end of the program I’ll be pays over my original debt! Better you negotiate yourself with the creditors that will safe money for sure.

Everything was great. The only issue I have had with the app is I am unable to log in to review my progress. I have been trying for months. I have had to call in and have had very good customer service. I would like to know how much longer my payments will be coming out of my account. It seemed as if there was no way to pay these debts off. I contacted several debt relief companies to help us with it. The only person that was professional, friendly, answered my questions and explained the process well was the guy with Freedom Debt Relief. I'm slightly disappointed that it is going to take a bit longer than expected to get them all paid off, but when I look at the alternative, it isn't a big deal. The website is great. I can easily see everything on it.

Rocket Loans settlement is taking too long. Realizing this now, 3 years later when I started this I could have done this all myself 2 years quicker. I was lazy then. Also, once settlements are made they still; benefit FDR and the client more than the customer. Settlements are stretched out to 50 dollars a month for 36 payments when you have enough FDR balance to pay in to pay it off 3 times over.
Example: I have a settlement that the original balance was $584.21 and FDR settled with them at 233.68. Get this though! They stretched it out to 24 payments of 9 dollars a month when my FDR balance is $16,000! Just don't get how they could just pay off the 233.68 when I have a balance that large. The big thing here to remember people is we put ourselves in this situation, not FDR. Learn from me and just don't be lazy. You signed up for this...

The program of FDR worked pretty well. I still have another year and a half. It wasn't bad when I first started, but when I turned 65, my income dropped in half. So my debt is now more than a third of my income. If they could do a lesser amount for a longer period, they might get some lower-income people rather than filing bankruptcy.

Not sure I'm doing the right thing for the most part. I only have a few things that got away from me and they aren't even in default yet. I talked to someone twice the third time I was sick and haven't heard back from them since.

When a creditor turns debt over to an attorney office to handle debt it would seem better if your legal team contacted then before a court summons is filed. Also your attorney's office should have more contact with client to get things done quickly and easily.

Depending who you speak with you receive all different confusing information. You cannot even be the deciding factor on paying off a credit card if you have other debts still visible because they do what they want with any additional deposits you make. I am very sorry that I've enrolled my debt and have to stay with them until everything is settled. Oh did I mention that I still had 2 credit cards that still have not even been negotiated with until 1 of them sued me (in the making for over a year) and I have been enrolled in the program for 2 years already. Now I get to go to court in 3 months with NO assistance from FDR (which they said in the beginning they would help with legal, but that was not true).
I didn't declare bankruptcy after getting a divorce as I wanted to honor the debt that I created with my spouse. Did you know that the credit card companies also can send you 1099s for the amount you save, which is considered to be income? The remaining debt that they have not even negotiated with yet sent me a letter 2 years ago for half the amount of debt it is at now to payoff, but they told me to trust them and it would all workout. YES I stupidly trusted this company. I HIGHLY suggest that you look elsewhere when trying to settle your debt and consolidate as this company lets the debt continue to increase and sometimes you end up paying more on the debt then what you originally enrolled. For the most part I’m satisfied, but there’s 2 things that’s really upsetting me. The first thing is that from day 1 I’ve been asking y’all to add Mariner Finance to my debt. Y’all told me that they haven’t reported to any Credit bureaus that y’all wasn’t worried about them or that they're obviously not reporting me or something along those lines. They are suing me now and I’m still trying to get y’all to add these people. The other thing is I was told pay the $366 monthly on time I’ll be fine but now y’all keep sending me stuff wanting more money. Well if I had more money I wouldn't be in this situation.

Overall my experience was very good but on several occasions I had to call in to find out how the status of settlement was going on several occasions there was no status because there was no activity. Things would have gone faster if there was consistent settlement activity meaning that After you settle one account continuously working on the next account. There was always lag time.

I did not realize the negotiation fees were so expensive and the end would be a loan. The people that I worked with were very nice and handled all my question. I think maybe I expected too much at the end of the process.

I was paying more into the fund to decrease the time I have to pay into it. Instead of it decreasing the amount of time. It's increased mainly because your negotiations are paying a bare minimum for an extended time period.

The fees and charges are extortionate in my opinion and once you add those you're not saving much money in the long term. Your credit history is impacted a lot and takes years to recover. They claim your credit history will return within a few months - lies! If you get a 1099c from creditors you have to include that as income in your tax returns. They tell you you can file a form 4681 to avoid paying taxes on income associated with a 1099c however the rules for insolvency as defined by the IRS (especially if you own a home) means you can't use it anyways. If at all possible avoid getting into credit card debt or take a loan to pay it off rather than consolidated debt relief plan.

I am pleased FDR did negotiate the outstanding amount down with my creditors but was expecting a bit more to be discounted. Overall they did good. This was the first negotiation they did, I hope in the coming days they will be able negotiate a larger amount off my big outstanding accounts.

A very serious company, at first I was hesitant to contact them because they are in California and I live in Florida, I asked for references and got the best ones, now I have been with them since May 2019, and they have resolved several credit card debts for me and still I continue with them. My experience with FDR has been mostly positive and when there was an issue, it was resolved rather quickly. The customer service reps were helpful and kind anytime I reached out. I had initially thought my debt would be completely resolved by now, it has taken longer than originally stated but I can now see the end date and it’s reasonable.

I thought the point of a debt relief was to save money and not affect your credit score. In the process, a lot was added to collections on my score and I spent more in this program than I would’ve paying the debt off myself.

Updated on 10/28/2022: Do not choose this company for your debt relief. They have lied to me since the very beginning and absolutely ruined my credit and caused me over 2 years of terrible stress. I finally had to pull my debt from them and hire an atty. They are not up front with their fees. They do not work with your creditors and do not believe them when they tell you "they are there for you". They are not. They do not have Sr. persons in the company that assist, all clerks read from scripts. I can give you facts about how they lied and did not protect my debts. This is the worst decision you will make.
Original Review: I would not recommend this company. They will tell you a lot of things to get you to sign up. First, you will be sued by your creditors, YOU must show up to court, they do not show up for you nor do they work with court mediation. I now have 4 judgements against me because no one told me this from the beginning, in fact they said only about 4% of people get sued. Dead wrong! Also, they collect their fees first, so after sending faithfully over $29K plus additional deposits they have collected 9.9K in fees, does not leave much for further negotiations. One of the settlements I just had to go to court for and I got a full judgement I have to pay the courts. Freedom tried to tell me I still owe them fees for the account to be removed, even though they did nothing! I now have 3 other court dates for the other judgements which will go the same way.
Hire an atty. I explored and an Atty. is way cheaper and they are much more aggressive. They will tell you they settle debt at Freedom at about 30% when they sign you up, 2 of the only 4 they have settled in a year and a 1/2 were at 70%. The rest at 40%. Combine that with their fees, you save nothing! These are all facts. I am stuck with a program that does not have my interest in mind.

I told Freedom Debt Relief how much I was in debt and they set me up on a payment plan that I can afford. They also talked to my creditors and got some of what I owed knocked down so I can get it paid off quicker. It was great. I do not have the stress of the creditors calling me.

I appreciate the customer service and support, but the fees collected by Freedom Debt Relief were nearly as much as the debt reduction. The service is ‘good’ because it keeps you on track with becoming debt free, but it really doesn’t save much money at all.

When I signed up for FDR they said 4 years. I have never missed a payment,did everything they said. BUT... when it was almost 4 yes time I noticed on my account it said I had a year extra. I called them and they said we'll it could be longer. My next time I looked said a year and half more. Should of ended in 10-2021 but now says 1/23/2023. I have so much money in my account with them that that could pay everything off today 3/2022 and pocket almost $1,800. I would never recommend them to anyone. When you call they won't give you a supervisor and tell you this is how the program works. Apparently there is extra small print that I can't find.

I would highly recommend using if you're in a situation like I was. Drowning in debt after a major surgery and loss of work. The only downfall is credit goes to crapper but that's where I was headed anyway. So all good review from me!!

My experience with Freedom Debt Relief is very much please with the experience with both FDR and NLLG. Their Attorney Team. I have just above completed my finial steps with my settlement, five more months to go, as FDR had set up. Very please with the timing and the service I received from FDR. I would recommend FDR to anyone who is struggling with debt to work with FDR. If you keep up your part of the deal, then they will do the rest. Thanks for all the help.

I called FDR and paid off balance they said I owed on February 4, 2022. Now, here it is the middle of March and I’m still receiving correspondence about money owed. I think 6 weeks is plenty of time to take care of this. Plus! You are still debiting my account for the monthly charges for FDR. I don’t owe you any more money, why would you take out the monthly charge?

I have been with the FDR program for over 3 years. I am delighted to say I have just graduated and debt free!! The key is to follow the rules. I did follow them and it was smooth sailing, I never missed a payment for one thing and read all information and just did as I was asked to do. Every couple of months FDR settled account after account and now 10 accounts later all my balances are at zero! I can’t say enough about the team at FDR!! They were always supportive and very patient. I had a lot of questions and was unsure when I started but am so happy that I stuck with the program. In the beginning, the program was stressful. But as it moved forward patience was very much needed. Even when they had to take the process to court on our behalf, that was easy. I was sooo nervous but the person who walked me through this worked several hours with me and once I got my first settlement I was breathing easier. When I call her number she immediately picks up no matter what time of day or night and patiently answers my questions. Can't wait til I finish the program. Highly recommend.

I have been a member or customer as you will since 2019, so far I have not finished my program but I am progressing. FDR has settled multiple debts and they are there when I need them most. I was in the process of getting a new job and was denied because of my credit. FDR was there to help and speak on my behalf. And I got the job!

Freedom wasted no time with getting me approved and jumping into the work to start settling accounts. By my first payment they settled 1 account. With a previous experience from another company who never settled after 7 payments this blow me away how fast the ball started moving. Freedom responded to questions even after getting me in a contract. The online dashboard is amazing. You most miss a step or lose track of where and how your money is being used. 100 times better than my previous experience. Please give these guys a try before anywhere else.
