Settlements took a bit longer than expected and many a couple of accounts would not settle for less than what was owed. I ended up pulling an account out of the program after four years because they would not negotiate with Freedom Debt Relief. I was very excited when the end was near however a technical glitch kept me in the program two month more than what was needed. Overall, I’m satisfied with the results and happy that my debts are FINALLY gone.

This is the second time I have used a Debt Relief Service. I was proud working with the first one and I am pretty much satisfied working with this one. I did have my doubts that they might not be trying to negotiate the lowest possible debt. The first debt was settled below 50% on them. The second was right at 50%. The third was below 50% again. My main complaint was every month I would get an email to use my Dashboard and every time I came into some extra change that would allow these debts to be settle earlier, I would use my Dashboard and let them know what I was acceptable to paying immediately and they would NEVER respond to me. That is my foremost complaint and knowing that the debt could have been settled 12 to 15 months earlier is my only complaint with your company and why I would be hesitant in recommending Freedom Debt Relief to any of my acquaintances.

Hard to get ahold of anyone in person and the chat function not reliable with answers to questions one will have. I have tried in different occasions and no answers. When we call in there is the longest wait on line.

FDR is great they have helped me so much. My husband passed away a short period after we signed up with FDR. They were so kind and helped me through this horrible time. Yes. When I started this program, I was overwhelmed. I did not think it would be possible. Then two debts was settled and after that the process begin to move faster. All this happen in three years. I will be debt free this year.

This company is a life saver in my sinking ship of financial trouble. We are now feeling like we can exhale and let FDR take the wheel. I got through my set up call and was told that I would get a call on the 28th. I never got the call and waited the whole hour window. I went in and set up for another time on the 30th and again no call. I emailed the guy that I originally talked to and have gotten no response. Tomorrow my first payment is supposed to be made and I am very uncomfortable about the whole thing. Now all the bills that are in the program are late and I still have not gotten the call that was supposed to explain everything.

I was speaking to a coworker at my job about my haunting indebtedness and bigger than nightmare interest rates. My debt kept escalating as I tried to pay the monthly due payments. He recommended Freedom Debt Relief. I was nearing retirement age (early at 62). I had to get relief. On the first of each month, I used automatic pay from checking, to go ahead and deduct $492 and deducted that from my total checking balance. This does not work if you have less than enough to cover the balance. This helped tremendously paying with no worries.
It took 2 years to pay off over $20,000 debt but all interest was scraped off as part of the negotiation. I did not apply for credit, cut up all my credit cards, and focused on my payoff date. You set up an online account with FDR and you can check your goals and any updates to your account daily. It kept me encouraged as I just received my “Congrats” from FDR for having paid my debt off. Once an offer is made keep negotiating for lesser amount to pay off. They will let you know if that is feasible. I am debt free.

I'm still in process with Freedom Debt Relief and it's about a year to go, but they are amazing. The payments are based on how much is in the program that they calculate the biweekly payment, but I haven't been making a deposit for the past couple of weeks because of financial hardships. Three family members had COVID, I was out of work for a while, then I had to have major dental work. I had to postpone payments 'cause I had to pay the dentist 'cause I was in excruciating pain. I also had car trouble and I had to replace my transmission. I was told that I can go in and modify my payments then as soon as I'm back up on my feet, I can either give more or start to go back on. I like that that's an option.
Freedom Debt Relief understands that I'm in a financial hardship, and they're willing to help. However, if there was a less frequent withdrawal or deposit needed or the amount, that will be better. I'm barely starting to get back up on my feet. Still, the agents that I speak to and help me out are very good. They are very warm, welcoming, and understanding, and they give great explanations. I haven't had one problem with any of the agents. I feel at ease and taken care of, and I would tell friends they should give Freedom Debt Relief a try.

Once we got going everything has been great. I previously advised my discord with the initial phone call which was scheduled but did not occur, even when I called them. I spoke with one of the receptionists after my 4th attempt. She did apologize.

After my husband passed away without life insurance I was in debt alone. I made the decision to use Freedom Debt relief to help my pay my debts with the support of their team /lawyers support to prevent creditors from harassing me day and night. They were able come up with a monthly payment less than what I was paying out alone. I made sure the monthly withdrawal was always there. I liked the security of checking my account and dedicated accounts status anytime I wanted to. As well as the updated e mails when an account was graduated (meaning paid off). I don’t trust easily but this company really does a great job! I recommend them 100%! Best day of my new life is when I got my final congratulations packet. If it wasn't for FDR, I would still have large debt to pay off. I was planning on retiring by 2023, but COVID came and my job offered early retirement incentive for eligible employees and I accepted. It would have taken at least another 7 to 10 years for me to become debt free. Thanks to FDR, I have paid off a large amount of debt within less than 5 years! I have NO desire to go down that road again!

Well everything ran smooth with my first few accounts. But recently I had arrangements set and money paid in for the deposit on a negotiation. Another offer came in (that I accepted as told to) and now FDR is asking for an additional $1800 to pay on the account that I originally made arrangements for. I just don't have it and am about to be sued. All I'm asking is they pay the money so that I won't get sued and I can arrange to pay more on the smaller account that I accepted last.

I chose FDR to settle and assist in relieving my debt back in 2018. The law firm you use is not the best. Poor communication with customer. Called many times and they never returned my call and waited right up until the court date to finally call back, leaving me in the dark about what I needed to do about the court case.

Essentially FDR has made settling my debt fairly easy as they have taken over all communications with my creditors.. I appreciate them handling all of this on my behalf. I have one year left in the program and there have been little to no issues that have not been quickly resolved. I believe that also pairing with the NLG was beneficial as there was a need for their services on one or two occasions. It was a good decision on my part to involve FDR to assist me with my debt resolution.

I am glad I went to Freedom Debt Relief to help me with my debt and after about 4 years I have that debt off my plate. Yes it has been difficult at times going through this process and yes you need to pay for their legal team because you could end up needing it…I did with 2 Banks. I will tell you though that their legal team is rough to work with even sometimes rude and demanding but they did end up getting the legal action stopped by the 2 banks.
I do think everyone should be made aware of all the monthly “fees” and monthly fees for each check they write on your behalf to the creditors. All I can say is ask all the questions beforehand so you’re not so surprised like I was when they came. I wish that the people who sell you on their system would be more honest with exactly what you are getting into and how much their fees and cut is ahead of time so that you go in with full knowledge. Don’t get me wrong as I am glad I did it and made it through but having all the information would have made the process sometime a little easier to handle. Good Luck!!!!

When I started with FDR, So-go wasn’t offering debt consolidation loans. If they had, I would have thought long and hard about using them. It would have been faster and my credit score would not have taken a hit. On the other hand I would be paying the full amount rather than the negotiated amount. The FDR process works and teaches patience.

The flexibility and the negotiations team not being reachable to discuss an option to present to the creditor. I wanted credit for what I already paid on a debt so I could pay it off in full. I was instructed that is not how it's done here. This is taking way too long and my credit takes a huge hit due to collections being reported. The negotiations should include a good standing report by the creditor. The whole process is not aggressive enough. I'd like better credit help than that is provided to me the customer. I was told it didn't matter that I was using your service and it doesn't help my credit at all for any loans by multiple lenders.

The process is fairly straightforward, and the counselor explained it in good detail. We always want things to go faster, but the timeline is laid out for us too, and unless we suddenly have more money to pay off debts with, it is quite an accurate forecast. I hired FDR to help with my credit card loans and after a year and a half, they did not respond to one of my creditors and in light I am now having my wages garnished for $3,400 a month and this will likely cause me to lose everything I have gained back from COVID. I have all of the legal proof from the creditor's attorney to prove there was no response from FDR for negotiations and or notification of judgement!

I put extra $$ in my dedicated account so I could have a breather from my monthly pymts for a couple months. Without letting me know, FDR took out more than my monthly payment for their fees. I signed up for $524/month & was not told that would fluctuate when I put the xtra $$ in. Horrible horrible policy to not get in touch w/ me & take more than a monthly pymts worth of $$ for their fees instead of paying the debt collector. When you sign up for a payment amount, that's what it should be each month unless you, the client, say otherwise. I lost my settlement as I didn't have more $$ to put in & this was literally a few months before it would have been paid. Do NOT recommend.

Instead of working to get a lower settlement and taking what’s left of the dedicated amount for the payment “fee” I was charged an extra $1500 for the law firm that poorly negotiated. Ridiculous. Now I’m STILL paying for the next several months to pay off the lawyers! Very poor negotiations - I could have paid off my credit cards myself. Will NOT recommend anyone doing this. You were supposed to be helping ME!

Updated on 1/3/2023: We are happy that two debts have been resolved. We thought they would be paid off, but instead monthly payments have been negotiated. So kinda' feel like we still have those debts. At least they don't call anymore. Wish Freedom Debt would contact more creditors to stop the phone calls. We are experiencing numerous medical situations and the phone calls make us anxious at a time when we should only be concerned with getting medical problems solved. So much upfront expenses involved in our medical situations, money is so tight.
See that commercial where one client says she has more money in her pocket and that is not our situation beginning in February. Makes us concerned that bankruptcy is our only way to go and we do not want to do that. And if more creditors were contacted, some pressure would be gone. The creditors would be working with FDR and not hounding us. is this possible?
Since only monthly payments are being made on settled debt seems like there should be money to contact other creditors. Navient is a student loan and they call at least 6 times a day. Would love FDR to contact them. And then we have Fingerhut/Advantage - low balance so can this creditor be contacted by you so they would leave us alone. Also Home Design/Synchrony Bank floods us with e-mails. Now they are offering no interest payments. Good time for FDR to take over that account.
Once a creditor hears from FDR, they leave us alone. That would be wonderful. Any assistance would be appreciated. Sent copies of letter from Home Design/Synchrony Bank and Citi Mastercard. Seems like they are open to negotiations. Also how do we find out how much those two resolved accounts cost us with FDR? Not sure how to do that. For FDR to contact the accounts mentioned here would really take some anxiety away. We appreciate you and do hope FDR will contact the mentioned accounts to begin negotiation. Thank you.
Original review: I am sick of all the phone calls. Seems that FDR could notify creditors of our partnership and stop the calls. I also do not understand why the largest debt is paid off first when the tiny ones are paid off only at the end.

Feeling like I can breathe again. So far 5 have been taken care of and 3 are paid off. Makes me feel like I will have freedom from this debt. I'm on social security so money is limited. With raising prices it gets harder to eat, pay bills, and medicine. My electricity went over $360 this summer and I couldn't of paid everything

I have been so happy with Freedom Debt Relief. I don't know what I would of done without their help. I guess it would of been bankruptcy court. Thank you. I'm so grateful to their help. When I first started the journey with FDR I was like, "This is awesome," until the fees for everything started rolling in. That needs to be addressed more in the consult and finalization process. I didn't realize nor was I fully informed about the fees that are associated with everything. I think you should be more detailed with everything.
