I feel like I was misled when I signed up for this program. I was told that it would take about two years and that has ballooned even with me increasing my monthly deposits. Now I am stuck in this program with horrible credit for at least two more years.

I started out with eight accounts that I was behind payments on when I signed up with FDR's Debt Reduction Program. They have already negotiated settlements for 6 of those accounts, only two more to go! Great service, their Representatives are knowledgeable and efficient. Because of medical bills I was in an untenable state. I could not meet interest payments on top of bills charged. FDR stopped interest and arranged for a manageable method to pay off debt. It was a great relief to an impossible situation. Billie **

Very slow!! Ridiculous 1$ per month payment agreements. Not satisfied was told I be debt in 3 years now looking more like 4 years. Creditors sent me better settlements and I would mail them to FDR and got no response only to agree on a more expensive one 8 months later.
We appreciate you voicing your concerns regarding your program progress, Cory. The reason we do small payments towards the accounts once we place them into a settlement is so that we have enough money left over from your monthly deposit to start the next negotiation. As you are aware, client's are the ones funding their account so that it could build. It does take a lot of commitment from the client's side and sometimes it just takes longer to settle an account due to not having sufficient funds and/or the account hasn't aged as much as we need it to. Once we are able to get all of your accounts in a structured settlement and accumulate all of needed funds to pay off all of the accounts, we are then able to do a lump sum payment in order to pay off all of the accounts in one payment. This should be close to the estimated graduation date we had in mind for you. Trust in knowing our negotiators will always take the first opportunity to obtain the best settlements possible. We encourage you to speak with our Client Services team to learn what options are available that would allow you to accelerate your Graduation Path. I was literally bankrupt when I saw a TV ad for their services. I made the call and I am glad I did. Over the past four years I have paid off over $25k in credit card debt and personal loans. Takes too long to resolve my debt!! Seems to take years for me. They lie all the time. I'm doing my part but I could of filed bankruptcy quicker than going though you!! Wasn't helpful at all. So disappointed. They said 48 months tops. Who knows how long now.

How did it happen that my pay was garnished. I thought this Company took care of my debts. I guess I was mistaken. I’m talking about my Prosper debt. They took out a percentage of my paycheck for seven consecutive pays. That is why my Prosper debt is settled now.

I was skeptical, at first but FDR has saved my life. They have bent over backwards to help me with my bills. When you go from a workable salary to nothing but social security and very low paying part time work, the salary and bills do not match very well. FDR solved the problem. My initial experience was horrible with a representative yelling at me, telling me to shut up, and I refused to work with him. I found someone else but then the first person kept calling and emailing me. I told him I was working with someone else now. He claimed I wasn't, that it was him and only him, leading me to believe that the 2nd person I was working with was actually him posing as someone with a different name. It was a nightmare, and I was not sure who I could trust with this company, and it made me think that Freedom is untrustworthy.
I think I finally got it straightened out and if he was telling the truth and he really was one person posing as 2 then shame on me for falling for it again. But too late now either way because I have signed up. However, my biggest issue now is that I am paying someone for what I could have done myself. I have been working with the creditors to pay these at a lower rate. So why am I paying someone to do this for me? I was only able to add a few debts and did not really help me with my current debt, only my past over 3 years old debt.

Very happy with FDR. Almost Graduated from all of my debt and they delivered just as promised. I would recommend this service to anyone with overbearing credit card debt. I enrolled in 2018 and was told it would take about 48 months. Looks like it will only take 45. It's like a great load has been lifted.

There has been little to no contact except via email when a settlement comes up. I have called a few times regarding when my anticipated graduation date is and can never get an answer. Also I've looked at my dashboard and can see balances etc but it never seems like the amount I owe goes down!

Freedom Debt Relief did an excellent job. I had a lot of after my property was hit by fire in Malibu. I a lot had medical bills after injuries from the smoke. I had you use my credit cards and I maxed them out. My credit score dropped from 850 to 600. I was in trouble. Freedom Debt Relief saved me many 50 thousand dollars through negotiation. More than I ever expected. Awesome.

Your employee WAS VERY helpfull when I had a problem with my payment date. When applying for your help every person I talked to took their time with me and answered my questions. The follow up calls helped with any questions I had as well as your e-mails.

FDR has been very good. I didn't give 5 stars, because I was sued by a creditor. In all fairness, FDR warns that this may happen. FDR did provide the legal services for free, but the process was tedious and time consuming.

FDR is excellent and I've told other people about it. I trust them. They call me every so often and then I get information on my phone telling me what they've paid off and what the balance is and stuff like that. Those follow-ups are great. Also, the rep has told me that I'm doing such a good job making sure that there's money there. He said that instead of two more years in the program, it could be a little less.

This company plays a shell game in my opinion. They have multiple sisters companies they use and charge you for and when you call them for anything, they always blame a sister company or you. Great help with my debt but only beef I have is Dusty wouldn’t give me a quote online for loan that would be cheaper and pay it off quicker and I told him I have had neck and throat surgery and can’t talk since I barely have a voice and gravely hoarse voice. I would of seriously considered it if he could. I would probably do it and get this over with if payments are cheaper than what I’m paying now.

Not a great job negotiating settlements. Would have accomplished same reestablishing credit rating if had filed bankruptcy to start with. Would be same recommendation I would give anyone trying to make settlement with credit card companies. In the long run a person would be better off financially over the same period of time using a debt relief program.

Many of the debt counselors to whom I spoke went above & beyond to provide excellent service. Thank you! One important fact that tripped me up was that, toward the end of my program, when there were more funds than needed to pay the last account, I asked to stop monthly contributions, which suspended my account. Not a good idea. People who check their dashboard regularly will probably be more content than I, who appreciates the assurance of a voice at the end of a phone line.

UPDATED 07/10/2022: The program is fine. Bills are being paid off and some are settled for 50% of what was owed. I wish there was the ability to settle accounts sooner than what has been done. Overall, accounts are being taken care of like they said it would.

Overall the program is good. Not very detailed oriented. Such as a better and more frequent breakdown of balances and end days. The commissions due FDR could be spread out more thus producing more frequent settlement, s. Resulting in more creditors receiving funds.

It took a little over five years but this program negotiated lesser amounts with all but one creditor. I wasn't expecting the lesser amount difference to be counted as income come tax time. But it all worked out and did not put me in another tax bracket. The lawyers were great and helpful. We only had to go to court once but I was always represented. Every time I had a question, it was answered with professionalism. I do recommend Freedom Debt Relief as an alternative to bankruptcy.

It appears that all the savings that you tell me I am getting are not really savings as I am paying off the original amount of money I owed when started and the savings seem to be going in your pockets.

I can still remember the first time I called the number for Freedom Debt Relief. I was apprehensive, distrustful, and totally afraid to tell someone that I didn’t know that I had done something foolish with my finances. Freedom Debt Relief has been nothing but a major headache on my bank book. My credit has been destroyed.... When I enlisted I had less Debt.. This company did not disclose that every time I make a payment it costs me an additional $10 to financial crossroads along with the additional $9.95 a month that they take to maintain the account. National litigation log group there's a ** joke. I paid them $12 a month for 3 1/2 years if I needed illegal representation. When the time came, I needed legal representation and they turned and went the other way. The money that I paid them they got to keep, but they NEVER provided any service.
This company, like I said has cost me more money. Almost $2000 just for the last settlement alone. Don't forget the $9.95 a month on top of an additional $10 a month to make a payment and let's not forget the $12 for the service national litigation law group "DOES NOT" provide. To sum this up, "I wouldn't recommend freedom debt relief to my worst enemy"....

Would give zero stars if I could. Would not recommend to anyone. I settled most of the cards myself because Freedom was taking way too long. I made large deposits into my account and yet they were not settling. Ruined my credit score. All customer representatives give standard canned responses. The one out of six cards they settled I had left with them due to getting a subpoena and was worried about having to go to court. 16 phone calls later they finally settled for a mere 1200 less than original balance. But then they charged me a $1350 settlement fee. Really??!! Would tell anyone to run the other way. You too can stop paying your cards, save the money, ruin your own credit without the “help” from freedom. Worst and most stressful, disappointing experience ever!!!

Didn't realize how much money they take after settling debt. Would have been better off settling on my own and save thousands of dollars. I get it's saving me the hassle and everything has a charge but it's insane. How are you really saving yourself when settle debt 50% then they ask for 20% so in end really only settle for 30% and could do alone and cut middleman.

I was misled. When I signed up, (May 2018) it was estimated that it would take 48 months and either be around $36,000 (back page) or up to a little less than $54,000 as listed on a comparison page. It seems it will take about 6 years and significantly more than even the high estimate of the savings comparison page. I have made all payments, enrolled debt was accurate and I have already paid $47,000. At this rate, I will be at my enrolled debt almost-saving very little.

The last 2 settlements and future settlements its obvious I'm paying too much settlement fees, every time I agree to settle with a creditor, just look at the history of my accounts, Synchrony account, Avant account and Lending Club you did excellent in getting me a fair settlement now I pay full price and more fees than before, hope you could do "BETTER" "SETTLEMENT" LOWER FEES!!

Freedom Debt Relief is a little slow moving, but other than that, they're good. My debts are getting resolved. I'm down to the last four accounts. All of their reps seem pretty nice. Their legal team is really nice too. I had a few issues earlier this year with creditors that didn't want to wait to be negotiated, and they got the legal team and that was a good experience. They picked a really good legal team here in Delaware. I'm very pleased. Freedom Debt Relief has pretty much done what they told me they were going to do. I send in my payment and they pay my creditors. They said if any creditor got impatient and I ran into legal issues, as long as I paid into the legal thing, they’d take care of it, and they did. So they've been true to their word.

The program works well. They literally lifted a weight off my shoulders and I can breath again. The only negative I have is that the fees were a little higher than anticipated. Almost the same as what they negotiated off.

Freedom Debt Relief's program was awesome. It was a relief not having to try to conquer all that I was trying to do. I had a husband that passed away and a lot to figure out. Now, I'm getting an old debt paid off. At one point, I had to decrease the amount I was paying because my income changed, but then it changed again. So, I went ahead and increased it back.
When I was doing that slidebar, I was trying to think, “How much can I afford and stretch myself a little bit to maybe get this done next year and not in two years?” I put the amount up to 170, twice a month, and it came back that I was gonna have it paid off super fast. But now it's showing it's still a couple of years away. I was a little confused on that, which I know settlements vary depending on what they settle for. Meanwhile, my son will be done before me, but he didn't have as much as me. I referred him, and he likes it.

Dissatisfied with the settlements the negotiators have made with some of the creditors. I could have done that on my own. There is no way to talk to the negotiating team on my account as I was able to in the beginning of my program. This has changed and you only talk to a customer service rep when contacting FDR not your negotiating team. I am not complaining about the customer service because they do their best to answer your questions when I call in. I am just dissatisfied that I cannot speak with my negotiating team on my account as in the beginning of the program.

I had a credit card from Bank of America and I gave it to Freedom Debt to condense my payments. Well they started out paying $205 a month and then without paying it off they stop paying and I was taken to court.

I believe I was misinformed when I started the program. I was told I had to include my credit card from USAA. It would not set well if I was paying the credit card and trying to decrease the other creditors. USAA called me a few months later and told me that was not true. I could get a better deal with them or keep paying them the charges and keep the card. So I feel I was misinformed.

FDR is helping me out. They take care of my payments and I don't have to hassle with it. I just pay my monthly payment every month and it's great for me. They also caused a lot of savings for me. Their customer service has been excellent and they've always dealt with anything I've called in. One time, I was served and I went to court. And I was freaking out when I got it. But I called them, they took care of it that day, and I didn't have to worry about it. It's been like four years but I'm getting to the end of the program. I initially had 10 accounts and now I'm down to the last four I'm paying on.

We were told, before we signed on the dotted line, that this was going to be a 48 month program. It is not. Not even close. Had I known that it would be 5+ YEARS. I would have picked a different program or filed for bankruptcy. I'd be done by now and my credit would have rebuilt by now.

After negotiating a debt the time limit to pay the debt off is too long and unnecessary and the client loses a lot of money. When I first got into Freedom Debt Relief the first negotiation was short only two payments. After I was in the program the next payments were a year to six months on a very small amount. So I think that I was tricked In the way that they negotiate until after I was in the program and It didn’t make me feel good about signing up with this program.

Fees taken were Not fully explained. Cost is more than I was initially told. 25% of settlement debt is what I expected. Creditors not added to list after sending info to Customer service. A creditor called your customer service and was told that they are not on your list. They proceeded to harass me.
