Freedom Debt came up with a strategy and asked me what I thought I could contribute to try and pay it down and set up the plan for me. All I did was follow their program. Setting it up was pretty simple. Then they started using the funds as they were collected to negotiate. I was just a little frustrated with the last one. It was the largest one. We had gotten offers over the last two years to settle for a really good amount on a single payment. I'd send it in and there was no response. We ended up settling this year for about the same amount. I didn't question it. My wife was like, “Chris, that's just how it works. Just let them do their job.” So, I just kept making payments and shut my mouth and got it paid off.
Freedom Debt seems like a really good and solid program. The main thing there is to keep making the payments that you told them you were going to make and let them do their job. I engaged a couple of times and the big thing they kept saying was, “Whatever you need to do, just do your best to make your payments because if we can't see the consistent growth in your account, it's gonna be really hard for us to negotiate.” It’s kind of how they put it. They were really nice about it. I'm assuming that this is what they do. They deal with people with sad stories all day long. I found that it was a lot better than dealing with a bill collector.

I add ended up paying off the other other creditors because I assumed that a payment to each creditor would be made soon as I had the funds built up. My whole plan was to take out a loan instead to pay the creditors off in full.

The people at Freedom Debt Relief have been courteous, patient, and kind. In four months, they had one debt paid off, and another negotiated. I would recommend them to anyone weighted down financially. I used to worry about making it from paycheck to paycheck. Now, I'm able to afford groceries again, and not make one meal stretch into three meals.

Our experience with FDR has been pretty good. We're getting ready to make a lump sum payment and to get out of it completely. The gentleman from FDR that I talked to convinced me that it was a good way to go. There were just a couple of occasions when my wife called in and they couldn't give her the answer. It was like they weren't completely trained on what we were asking about. But their program has been beneficial. It has consolidated my payments and after a while, I got rid of all those calls.

I must say that I am very impressed by Freedom Debt Relief. I was a little nervous initially I'll admit, but I'm thankful I partnered with them anyway. Only complaint is that I wish we had more scheduled calls. I'm definitely one who likes to hear someone confirm "this" and go over "that" on a regular basis. But other than that, it's been great.

In the beginning, the Freedom Debt Relief reps were good. They offered the consolidation loan, which I ended up paying more a month and more than what I owed if I didn’t do it. Communication was clear, but then I had one account that went into court, and they were gonna garnish my check. So, I contacted Freedom, and they couldn’t do anything about it. They never did anything about it. So, I ended up with that one on my own now plus Freedom. Overall, I think they’re false advertising.

I really don't want to deal with the hassle of dealing with the creditors when I really had no solution. So, naturally, I was overjoyed to find a solution.
One setback for me, is that all of my money goes to bills. However, I'm looking forward to the time when this will all be taken care of and the amount now going toward taking care of my bills will be released and I can take care of other needed things. The process is a little confusing in the very beginning. I have come to understand the money I send is basically deposited until there are enough funds to negotiate a debt. I believe the debt chosen is determined by the balance due as well as amount of money deposited. I appreciate that when I text or email questions to Freedom Debt I always get a response.

We came across an ad on the internet about debt relief, we had signed with previous company. Didn't feel good about them. Was extremely confident FDR could help us. Set up payment arrangements and a plan we felt we could follow. They were courteous, helpful, didn't make us feel like we were losers because we had to do this. Freedom Debt Relief is good to work with, it has very good customer service. My only complaint is my Credit Rating, which is actually worse! Why doesn't paying up my debt improve it? It seems Experian, TransUnion and the other reporting agency only report bad news. No credit is given for paying your bills on time or paying up debt. It appears trying to improve it is hopeless.

UPDATED 05/10/2022: I am very happy with how the program has worked resolving my debts. I am very happy to just be a month or so from my graduation from the program. The only thing that has kept me from rating excellent is I wish there was little more communication, keeping me more in the loop with what is happening in the process. Otherwise this has been an amazing company who have always answered any question I might have and I have been able to finish the program a year earlier than expected!

I would have been better off trying to settle debts on my own. The final cost was outrageous. The settlement amounts were an average of a 30 to 35% reduction. After the additional late fee charges from creditors it really was not a savings. The fees charged by FDR are high too. Read the fine print. Buyer beware.

FDR helped negotiate my two personal loan down to about 50%. Because of this I am able to start saving my money instead of using it to pay off my debts. I feel less financially burdened now. I enrolled in this program in the hopes of resolving my debt in a timely manner. They told me they would report to credit bureaus but will not. I’m half way through and they’ve managed to finish 2 debts. Very backwards process. Would not recommend to anyone.

100 percent happy with this program and would highly recommend it! I was very nervous at committing to it at first and was afraid it was a scam! Payments are easy and reasonable and the program is easy to understand. Just keep up with your payments and approve your settlements, I have to admit it seemed to be slow progress at first but once you see that first settlement negotiated and then paid off it is so worth it. Very slow!! Ridiculous 1$ per month payment agreements. Not satisfied was told I be debt in 3 years now looking more like 4 years. Creditors sent me better settlements and I would mail them to FDR and got no response only to agree on a more expensive one 8 months later.

The reason we do small payments towards the accounts once we place them into a settlement is so that we have enough money left over from your monthly deposit to start the next negotiation. As you are aware, client's are the ones funding their account so that it could build. It does take a lot of commitment from the client's side and sometimes it just takes longer to settle an account due to not having sufficient funds and/or the account hasn't aged as much as we need it to. Once we are able to get all of your accounts in a structured settlement and accumulate all of needed funds to pay off all of the accounts, we are then able to do a lump sum payment in order to pay off all of the accounts in one payment. This should be close to the estimated graduation date we had in mind for you. Trust in knowing our negotiators will always take the first opportunity to obtain the best settlements possible. We encourage you to speak with our Client Services team to learn what options are available that would allow you to accelerate your Graduation Path. How did it happen that my pay was garnished. I thought this Company took care of my debts. I guess I was mistaken. I’m talking about my Prosper debt. They took out a percentage of my paycheck for seven consecutive pays. That is why my Prosper debt is settled now.

My initial experience was horrible with a representative yelling at me, telling me to shut up, and I refused to work with him. I found someone else but then the first person kept calling and emailing me. I told him I was working with someone else now. He claimed I wasn't, that it was him and only him, leading me to believe that the 2nd person I was working with was actually him posing as someone with a different name. It was a nightmare, and I was not sure who I could trust with this company, and it made me think that Freedom is untrustworthy.
I think I finally got it straightened out and if he was telling the truth and he really was one person posing as 2 then shame on me for falling for it again. But too late now either way because I have signed up. However, my biggest issue now is that I am paying someone for what I could have done myself. I have been working with the creditors to pay these at a lower rate. So why am I paying someone to do this for me? I was only able to add a few debts and did not really help me with my current debt, only my past over 3 years old debt.

There has been little to no contact except via email when a settlement comes up. I have called a few times regarding when my anticipated graduation date is and can never get an answer. Also I've looked at my dashboard and can see balances etc but it never seems like the amount I owe goes down!

FDR has been very good. I didn't give 5 stars, because I was sued by a creditor. In all fairness, FDR warns that this may happen. FDR did provide the legal services for free, but the process was tedious and time consuming.

FDR is excellent and I've told other people about it. I trust them. They call me every so often and then I get information on my phone telling me what they've paid off and what the balance is and stuff like that. Those follow-ups are great. Also, the rep has told me that I'm doing such a good job making sure that there's money there. He said that instead of two more years in the program, it could be a little less.

This company plays a shell game in my opinion. They have multiple sisters companies they use and charge you for and when you call them for anything, they always blame a sister company or you. Great help with my debt but only beef I have is Dusty wouldn’t give me a quote online for loan that would be cheaper and pay it off quicker and I told him I have had neck and throat surgery and can’t talk since I barely have a voice and gravely hoarse voice. I would of seriously considered it if he could. I would probably do it and get this over with if payments are cheaper than what I’m paying now.

Not a great job negotiating settlements. Would have accomplished same reestablishing credit rating if had filed bankruptcy to start with. Would be same recommendation I would give anyone trying to make settlement with credit card companies. In the long run a person would be better off financially over the same period of time using a debt relief program.

Many of the debt counselors to whom I spoke went above & beyond to provide excellent service. Thank you! One important fact that tripped me up was that, toward the end of my program, when there were more funds than needed to pay the last account, I asked to stop monthly contributions, which suspended my account. Not a good idea. People who check their dashboard regularly will probably be more content than I, who appreciates the assurance of a voice at the end of a phone line.

UPDATED 07/10/2022: The program is fine. Bills are being paid off and some are settled for 50% of what was owed. I wish there was the ability to settle accounts sooner than what has been done. Overall, accounts are being taken care of like they said it would.

Overall the program is good. Not very detailed oriented. Such as a better and more frequent breakdown of balances and end days. The commissions due FDR could be spread out more thus producing more frequent settlement, s. Resulting in more creditors receiving funds.

It took a little over five years but this program negotiated lesser amounts with all but one creditor. I wasn't expecting the lesser amount difference to be counted as income come tax time. But it all worked out and did not put me in another tax bracket. The lawyers were great and helpful. We only had to go to court once but I was always represented. Every time I had a question, it was answered with professionalism. I do recommend Freedom Debt Relief as an alternative to bankruptcy.

It appears that all the savings that you tell me I am getting are not really savings as I am paying off the original amount of money I owed when started and the savings seem to be going in your pockets.

I can still remember the first time I called the number for Freedom Debt Relief. I was apprehensive, distrustful, and totally afraid to tell someone that I didn’t know that I had done something foolish with my finances. Freedom Debt Relief has been nothing but a major headache on my bank book. My credit has been destroyed.... When I enlisted I had less Debt.. This company did not disclose that every time I make a payment it costs me an additional $10 to financial crossroads along with the additional $9.95 a month that they take to maintain the account. National litigation log group there's a ** joke. I paid them $12 a month for 3 1/2 years if I needed illegal representation. When the time came, I needed legal representation and they turned and went the other way. The money that I paid them they got to keep, but they NEVER provided any service.
This company, like I said has cost me more money. Almost $2000 just for the last settlement alone. Don't forget the $9.95 a month on top of an additional $10 a month to make a payment and let's not forget the $12 for the service national litigation law group "DOES NOT" provide. To sum this up, "I wouldn't recommend freedom debt relief to my worst enemy"....

Would give zero stars if I could. Would not recommend to anyone. I settled most of the cards myself because Freedom was taking way too long. I made large deposits into my account and yet they were not settling. Ruined my credit score. All customer representatives give standard canned responses. The one out of six cards they settled I had left with them due to getting a subpoena and was worried about having to go to court. 16 phone calls later they finally settled for a mere 1200 less than original balance. But then they charged me a $1350 settlement fee. Really??!! Would tell anyone to run the other way. You too can stop paying your cards, save the money, ruin your own credit without the “help” from freedom. Worst and most stressful, disappointing experience ever!!!
