Slow to resolve debts and not getting very good settlement amounts for as long as this is going on. Seems Freedom Debt Relief is satisfied with collecting the monthly service charge with the settlement payments. When a Finance co hasn't been paid in over 1 year, they would probably go for 40-50 cents on the dollar but freedom is settling at 60-70 cents on the dollar.
We appreciate you voicing your concerns regarding our negotiation efforts, Neil. Remember, we need to wait for the monthly deposits to build up in order to have enough funds to settle the accounts. Strategically, however, this could be a good thing! The more and more the client's accounts go past due, creditors become more and more willing to accept a lower percentage of what is owed. Now, like you mentioned we do take a fee, but only once a settlement has been negotiated and authorized by the client and we have started making payments toward the settlement. Our goal and responsibility to our clients are to encourage their creditors to accept lesser amounts to resolve balances. Once we've done this successfully, we're entitled to collecting our fees as we've fulfilled our duties. Trust in knowing our negotiators will always take the first opportunity to obtain the best settlements possible. Best decision I have made. Best service and help from totally professional representatives. They made paying off my debt easier than what I expected. I followed the rules and never missed a payment and saw my debt reduced over time. I avoided debt collectors calls by referring them to FDR. My Stress was eliminated.

I really was hesitant to go this route with my debt, but I felt like my back was against the wall and I couldn't breathe. So I told myself, let's roll with it. And am I glad I ever did, I have made my steady payments and my debt has come down at a great pace, my credit score has went up. I think you all should find a way to report your client's progress to the credit bureau to help us build our credit back. I was enrolled for years and all my accounts you settled are still showing up as unpaid.

Since the debts have been paid off, what you can do is call each individual creditor and ask for a paid in full letter and see when they will be reporting it to the credit bureau. Worked well with my creditors and settled all my debts. Still waiting for my refund in my dedicated account and to stop auto payments of 282. Not sure why they need to keep taking money? Please return the funds left in this account.

They’ve always been pretty flexible. The program seems like it takes forever, but I just have to try to put more money in there. It's working, but it's just a long process. The only thing that concerns me is that even though I settle accounts, my credit still stays the same and I don't get it. They've never told me, “Call this person and he'll answer those questions.” They just say, “No, we're unable to give that kind of information like that.” They don't send me to anybody. I have to do the research.

Things were explained to me very carefully from the start. My dashboard was updated monthly and when the court papers came they took care of everything. I had to do little, the rest was taken care of and the settlement was reasonable.

The percent saved applies only to the savings on the amount negotiated. It does not include the cost of fees for the total amount paid out to complete the individual settlement percentage. In my opinion, the decided percent saved should include the cost of payoff plus fees, to give a accurate percentage saved. After calculated the percent saved per settlement is lower than initially shown.

Keep in mind that our settlement fees are bigger savings than having to pay your creditors the full 100% of the debt owed + interest % + any additional fees they charge. Yes, your creditor may have presented a lower settlement amount, but that is just to pull you back in so they could hit you with having to pay the full balance. I was continuously given wrong information. I have had multiple judgements filed against me, after I was assured they wouldn’t happen. Yes my debt has been reduced however I feel like I could have done a better job resolving this myself. My graduation was extended by a year because my constant requests to handle one of my accounts was ignored. At one point you had no legal defense team and a lawsuit filed against me was never dealt with.

Overall helped. Not too happy with all the additional hidden monthly fees. Paid too much honestly overall but didn’t have much choice. People have been pretty helpful. Not happy with their sister companies reaching out and telling me I’m approved for loans to help and then denying and wasting my time.

I had a great experience throughout this entire process. Any time I ever had a question or concern customer service was always available with minimal hold times. Very detailed with any question that I had. Made me feel very reassured that I was in great hands. I didn’t have any problems. Any hiccups. They took care of everything. All the negotiations. All the credit cards and even if there was people that went to lawyers I have been completely worry free through entire process because I felt I was in good hands. They are great people and are helping me reduce my debt but when I wanted to add new accounts the only option was increase monthly payments. Why couldn’t I extend my program? What difference does it make if it takes 5 years or 7? That’s all. Otherwise I do recommend them.

I was not told nor did I have paperwork that said I was gonna be charged 25% of the total enrolled debt that I was gonna be done with my payments by March of 2022 and now I have to make payments for another 2 yrs. What a kick in the balls. It totally screwed my day up when I was told this news. I’ve been struggling and I will continue to struggle for the next 2 years. When I think about it now that bankruptcy might have been a better option. I’m 61 yrs old. So much for that dream.

Is it enough saying that in the end I have to pay more out of pocket, then was my original debit???! First thing Freedom telling you is to stop payments, in reality credit card companies mounting interest charges until moment when Freedom, not you decide to make arrangements. That’s in average about 1 year. If some cc company take action to court, what happens to me, “don’t you worry, legal tim will represent you”. In reality, that legal company make in court arrangements for you to tay everything- debit, interest, court fees, your representing lawyer fee….

I am disappointed that you don't give me a loan first and work with my creditors to get a lower payoff first. You wait until I go into collections. I should have gotten a loan myself and worked out a payoff myself.

It takes too long to pay off a debt. Seems you’re only interested in your payment which you take in full right away. By the time you try and clear the debt it has doubled and you still collect 25% of the total which most times equals the same that was owed.

We have been completely satisfied with Freedom Debt Relief! We had 13 credit cards and nearly $100k in debt that just kept snowballing each month! I am certain we would be in deeper debt if we had not found FDR. Now we only pay cash, have a good savings cushion and should be completely out of debt in 8-9 more months!!! I have 1 account left and they won’t pay it off. I have over $1800.00 in my account and they keep saying it’s not time to pay off the account. Just pay the account off and send me my money back that’s left over!!!! Plus I have to keep having money taken out of my checking account every 2 weeks. I just want to be DONE!!!!

I realized that for the first 3-4 accounts that I enrolled, I did save money. Anything that has been enrolled for over 18 months is not worth it because the interest accrued has almost doubled the amount. When FDR negotiates to half of that, along with the settlement fees you're still paying more that the original enrolled amount. Another issue is that you cannot speak to the settlement department team. The operators you speak with cannot even relay a message to them regarding your concerns. My recommendation is to only enroll debt can be negotiated within 2 years. Any smaller accounts, especially anything less than $1,000 unless they can negotiate them early.

I’ve been paying over 2 years more than $20 k and so far what You you’ve closed only 5 accounts, not only that but you are getting PAY half of what my monthly deposit is. I’ve noticed that at the end I’m gonna end it up paying the original debt and it’s ridiculous cause I don’t see any savings

They did an excellent and timely job on getting relief on all but one of my debts. The last one took almost a year to get settled when there were no other debts needing payment. When I asked about I kept getting it's in negotiation but I never saw any movement on it. During this whole time they still took a monthly fee and will get a big fee when the settlement has gone through.

Should be easier if you deposit all the required money to close out the accounts. For it to take months is a bit ridiculous when you have put a large sum of money in the account. I deposited the full amount required and I am told it can take months to clear my accounts.

Not happy at all. Ended up paying substantial. More to settle with my debt increasing now going past my plan date. Not happy at all. Very disappointed and dissatisfied. What I was told in the beginning is not how it played out plus ruined my credit more. I thought you would put in the credit bureau I was on a payment plan.

I was caught in the credit trap, and didn't see any way out without help. Freedom Debt Relief made it easy, they settled my debts with creditors, sometimes for less than originally owed, and setup payment plans. Scary at first, but well worth it to get out of the trap.

I have not been happy with Freedom Debt Relief - even though debts have been settled - my credit is completely trashed, I have had multiple lawsuits and have to claim all of the money that was written off on taxes - so in the long wrong - it did not save me money - they completely lied when I signed up.

Applied for consolidated loan, got denied, and offered FDR. 8 months into program after settling for an average of 52% of what I owe, offered a consolidated loan that offers paying off FDR, FDR (21%) fees, and their own interest rate (25.2%) combined meant I'd be paying 98% of my original debt. All for the price of destroying my credit score. They prey own debtors as much as credit card companies. Avoid at all costs. Been in the program for 50 months, aka 4 years 2 months.

I've been paying for years and still got years to go. Freedom just keeps on shoving out the graduation more and more. Every time I talk to them, it's different. Someone tells me that I'll be done in April. The next thing I know, it's gonna be in October. If it's a little more truthful, it would help.

After the settlements are made and you take out your part of the money, I really do not gain much, and on at least 1 settlement it cost me almost 1000$ more than the starting balance. It is getting the issues resolved, It really is not saving me any money in the long run, and my credit is really messed up the whole time. If I would have claimed bankruptcy My credit would be back by now, and my debt would be done. So we will see when it is done how we come out. But I would not do it this way again.

If I would have known now as I am going through this at the beginning I would never have participated. The amounts being paid to debt considering the amount of balance is not satisfactory. Having a debt of less than 500.00 and saying it takes 2 years to pay off is upsetting and could be paid off with one payment considering the amount in balance.

It is better to payoff a settlement over as longer period of time regardless the balance, because it allows us to accumulate funds at a faster pace to settle more than once account at a time. It is better to have multiple ongoing settlements at once paying off an account in full one at a time. No one told me that my credit would be affected where before my score was good 700+ now 500. Needed cash and I can't get a loan, had to dig in to my 401K.
