I don’t understand why you would tell me three years that is now 7 and why you pay a 5.00 a month on one you could have paid off well before. I am guessing that is to collect more fees!!

The process to resolve my debt was done in a way that was affordable and painless for me. It eased a lot of burden and even do it took a long time, it is finally over. The customer service was very helpful and was there when you need their help. There was only one company who did not give any leeway to resolve my debt but it was more the exception than the rule.

Patience is the key, understanding that they will get the job done. I'm in such a better place now financially, best move I made instead of bankruptcy. I was drowning in debt, they were there supporting me and making sure I was ok. The payment amount helped me stay focused.

Been good for the most part but late on helping get settlement when being sued by a creditor, other than that it’s been really helpful, they are pretty good about getting back to you when you have a problem with a Creditor with adequate response. Thank you. Nancy

I honestly did not think that I was ever going to get myself out of debt until I found Freedom. They make it so simple. I do not have to worry about logging in to make the payment, it is just auto drafted from my account. They broke everything down for me so that I can understand. I cannot wait to be debt free!

Everything done digital. Would really appreciate somebody calling me personally to explain any of this process. If you can’t use a computer then they don’t worry about you. The automatic payment happens easily but I have no idea when this will end. I guess I should’ve never got tied up into something like this without truly understanding.

Don't have to do anything. They take care of it all. From the beginning I started with approximately 5 credit card debts. Those were settled in 3-4 payments within a matter of months. I consistently added others following and little by little everything was resolved for me. As long as I kept my premiums paid each month, I practically did nothing else. They took care of settling the debt for much lower than the actual amount and I'm that much closer to being debt free. Thank you!!

I've been very lucky to find FDR, gave me the break to pay off debts without large finance and interest charges. Was able to review and ask questions when needed via CHAT online or email. Monthly charge was reasonable and within my income availability. Would recommend to family and friends.

You have been great so far. But now all of sudden you think I’m going to pay someone a fee to resolve my last two accounts? I’m not paying anyone else. I paid you to do this. Now you have me trapped into paying someone else.

I dropped my phone while on vacation in Fla. It to be replaced. Called Asurion to see if it could be shipped here. They were able to replace it and ship to me quickly. Made my trip very happy so I could take pictures and talk to family back home.

Creditor sent letter with settlement amount, FDR would not accept that amount initially, but eventually did and still claimed the Fee. No effort made by FDR except to collect the Fee. Now I will still have to pay the IRS for both the difference and FDR's Fee.

With 1 yr left until my graduation from the program, we refinanced our home in the amount given to me 3 times by 3 different employees so we could pay off my account in full. Payment was made to pay off in full as we could no longer afford the $1,800/mth payment in the current economy. Now FDR is saying I owe another $2,600 to pay off my account. I feel I do not owe anymore and that in closing my account they realized they had made a mistake. If I owed more, we would have taken out more cash while refinancing our home. Again, we did this because we cannot afford the large monthly payment. This is for a small business lost because of Covid-19, and rather than filing bankruptcy as most people do after losing a business, we have continued to make payments of $1,800/mth with no revenue coming in. We have never missed a payment. We have been responsible and held up our end of the deal. FDR should do the same.

Overall I'm a bit disappointed in the negotiation process with my creditors as I think it was slow during the last 2 years. (2020- 2021) I do feel FDR has been diligent in notifying me when a possible settlement has been reached & their agents are professional & congenial.

I was told that if a deposit to FDR for specific accounts those funds would be used to pay in full the specific accounts. Funds were deposited and accounts still have a balance on client dashboard. This is not the first time that I received erroneous information.

The man that I originally spoke with and started off with was excellent. He was so thorough and he explained everything to me. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. He helped me make my decision. I've never had any problems until the very end of my trials with them. There was miscommunication with one person and that set me off. I had to go to a higher person to get a better explanation. The girl I talked to didn't listen enough to me as to what I was saying. So it messed me up a little bit and I was very upset. That cost me more money. But in the end, it got resolved.
Also, I was in the process of moving and I had to push my 23rd of the month to the 30th of the month. They were very nice with me and very good about helping me with that. However, they don't tell you the complete picture until the very end. They say, "Oh, by the way, you have to pay this much for that. Oh, by the way, you owe this. Oh, by the way, you need that." So I went three months without a Social Security check because I didn't know that.

This would be my third year with Freedom Debt Relief. It's a good program. I was at 28,000-something dollars. Credit cards and finance companies. And that worked out. The negotiators came out with a settlement. There really wasn't much from the amount they settled for it. But it came out okay. I got it down to 1,500-something to finish out these settlements to get this thing on and out of the way after all these years. But what they said was, I could give them the settlement amount to finish out the accounts. I would still have to do that 460-something payment after I gave them 1,500-something dollars. How does that work? Why is that like that? If I gave them 1,500 to finish the payoffs, why would I continue to pay 460-something a month?
I’m almost 67. I'm trying to retire debt-free. And I would like to get that out of the way after all these years. But I wouldn’t continue to pay them 460-something a month after I gave them that 1,500 for a total amount to finish paying them people off. I called FDR. I talked to the representatives. And it just doesn’t register. But they’ve done good so far coming up with settlements. They've done the last settlement. And I'm ready to get this over with.

They told me 4 years to get done and the time changes constantly to longer and unless you can deposit more money in account they don't want to try to settle on some accounts that sue you and don't put them instead to get settled until they are wanting to sue you.
Lois, the program typically takes 48 months to complete in some cases it may need to be extended. When it comes to legal accounts, additional funds may be needed in order to move forward with negotiations. Legal accounts require quick action but funds are always necessary to negotiate any account whether it is legal or not. The enrolment process has been wonderful. I've gotten the emails and they tell me how our things are going. Anytime I call and talk to somebody, they answer all my questions and keep me up to date. My credit score has gone up and I'm almost done. This is easier and less stressful than having to figure it all out on my own and get back on track. The fact that the payoffs are almost half is amazing.

I wouldn't be debt free without Freedom Debt Relief (FDR). What used to be 26 years of debt accumulation, is wiped clean within three years because of FDR's program. I enrolled in the program with five debts, and I let FDR take the lead with all my trust. I never felt uneasy, or had any feelings of distrust; however, seeing my credit score take a hit was disheartening. This is part of the journey to become debt-free, and with time, I know I can repair my credit score. While in the program, I educated myself on how to be fiscally responsible, and how to determine what I "need", what I "want", and what I can hold off on. I do not want to ever be in debt again, but I am thankful for FDR. I can truly experience happiness - without worry, or fear, or waiting for the other shoe to drop.

I think they make an honest attempt to be straight forward and fair in their dealings with clients. They were pretty understanding during the pandemic when is my funds were very low and only able to pay a minimal amount. Your credit will go down when you first starts dramatically. Sometimes it’s easier to file bankruptcy. It’s up to you what might be the best option. Also it is process but they’ll negotiate. But your credit history will look terrible even when you paid them back since it takes so long.

First, let me say I am disappointed that the 2 year and debt free promise did not turn out to be the case. My debt will be settled in 4 Years from the start of my contract. BUT, I gotta be honest…this has been extremely stress free and easy every step of the way. I think I’ve gotten one call in the past 2 years in which I responded, “no one is to be contacting me, I have a company handling it and they’re your contact” and just like that, no more collection calls.

I am so disappointed with this company. I was suppose to graduate from this program on June 2020 and it never happened until April 1st 2022. Well I thought I was done because I called them on April 1st to stop taking out the money from my checking account because I was suppose to be done. But then today $1112 was taken out my checking account because the last guy I talked to take care of what was supposed to be done after you paid all of your creditors did not know what he was doing. They will not send my money back until Saturday, that is why I am so disappointed with this company.

They helped me to get out of debt. They had to go to court for two of my bills and there was able to negotiate. Even though they didn't reduce my debt Freedom Debt Relief did not charge me a fee because I've got to pay back the whole amount.

The payment towards debt are too small just to keep customers longer in the program. My program should end in September this year. There will be no extra payment passing this period. Imagine sending only $5 per month while getting $145 biweekly from me. Terrible and upsetting.

The entire process has been exceptional until I get to the graduation part. It seems like I am being kept in the program just to keep taking money from my bank account and to charge me fees. I say this because all my debt has been taken care of yet one item shows a $0 balance and it is pending resolution. If it had not been for the grief I have been getting to get graduated, I would have given a 5 star.

Program started great, everything was moving along as it should, first few settlements went according to plan, but then as I approached the finish line, we had a lot of setbacks and the communication was horrendous. There was a period of over six months where there was no action on my account even though I had more than enough funds to settle my last account. I would call monthly and I would be told there wasn't enough funds on my account to negotiate. I would be put through to supervisors who would communicate with me and promise results.
After exchanging emails they would stop writing back after two weeks and leave me in the dust. This went on for months until someone finally took ownership of my account and after a two week period, after six months of no action, my last account was paid in full because they were unable to negotiate a settlement. I am not an unrealistic person, I understand that some companies can be difficult and refuse to negotiate. What is not acceptable is for this process to take six months and for three supervisors to kick me to the curb and refuse to communicate with me.
The system is set up that even though I had more than enough funds in my account and I was proactively reducing my monthly draft because there was enough funds to negotiate, it would generate a statement that I would have to pay more into the account to start negotiating. The techs are unable to see or understand that there was enough funds to negotiate and a continuous back and forth would emerge where I was left hanging over and over again. I am happy that it is all over, but the last six months of the program were brutal for me.

I am just now being able to pay something toward the account. I requested to have a review of my monthly pay due to (back then) COVID related loss of income. I never got the review, when I said I would get legal help they said I needed to fill out a document and they could take into consideration, this was never true. As of today I have 3 accounts left that they already took the “fees” for. So basically I am stuck with them because “I already paid them” so whatever. Terrible way of working, one of the accounts actually went to collections and my credit has declined for the last 30 months.

Keep in mind that our settlement fees are bigger savings than having to pay your creditors the full 100% of the debt owed + interest % + any additional fees they charge. We only charge our settlement fee once an account is settled and we have sent out at least one payment towards that creditors settlement. I am quite happy with my relationship with FDR. Interacting with Customer Service is easy and they are knowledgeable about the Product and eager to help. If they do not know the answer. Excellent Service from Brittany and the other female I spoke with confirming information. I also had additional legal paperwork that I was able to get to them for the legal team to handle so that I didn't have to deal with this mean, rude and extremely unprofessional man from a collection agency. Not happy with the way settlement payment are made. I gave extra money in dedicated account. Only thing that was done first settlement payment was $1100. If the extra money wasn’t there that high amount would not been paid. I feel that was extremely high amount for the first payment. If that extra money wasn’t there what amount would have been paid?

For years I’ve been paying bank cards credit cards and all I was paying was interest. I found myself falling behind on payments. I Liked the negotiating down of debt by 50%, 60%, or more. The process also seems to salvage one's credit score a bit during the duration of service. Constant updating and flexibility is also of great usefulness should something occur to cause a one to reduce monthly contributions e.g. covid.

So far I have yet to receive a welcome call but I most certainly have been charged 2 months worth of "account fees" so all in all I started $30 more in the hole than I was when I started with FDR. The sales person was great at selling. Thought they really cared about me but it seems like FDR doesn't. Just my opinion so far.

I actually doubled the amount of what would be withdrawn because I was told it would be paid off in full in two years. Not what you're saying or doing now. Very disappointed to learn this is going to keep dragging out.

They’re cordial when you call them and they seem to know their stuff. They assured me I would be done in four years. But I won't be done until next year. So they were off about a year and a half. That’s 680 a month and that’s a lot of money to be off.

When I finally looked at my account, line item charge for line item charge, I can not believe the amount I paid in fees. Fees for NGT. A monthly service fee. If they want a cashiers check, a 2 day check fee. Not to mention the fee for you to resolve the account, Which sometimes was more than the amount the credit card company settled for. Now I got the loan approved to pay all this off. I send the letter that says what my last settlement will settle for, and with the fee it comes out to more even though they settle for less. And now you all are dragging your feet on this so you can get one more payment from me. Next time I will handle my debt consolidation myself. I will also recommend that to everyone else who ask me about it. Thanks.

I signed up with Freedom debt relief about four years ago because I was in debt. They told me everything I wanted to hear, what they didn’t tell me was all the hidden fees that come with the program. My credit took a big hit for the first three years. Credit score improved after the fourth year. In the end it would have been better for me to have tried to negotiate with the credit card companies with monthly payments instead. The hidden fees in the end add up to the same amount that the credit card companies charge with their interest..

They did not get 50% off of my accts. I should never had enrolled. And I would never tell anyone they should. It was a bad experience and as I said they didn’t get me the percentage off that they said they would.

Customer service is great. Any questions I've ever had, I just called Freedom Debt Relief. They answered them right away for me. They were very good with me. When I first went into it, my credit score dropped. But it has gone right up now. So, I'm really happy with them. And they took care of everything for me. The amount of money that I paid out was half of what I was paying every month. So I was able to save money, too, which was nice. I would highly recommend them for anybody that's in debt. I told a cousin, "Why didn't you go with Freedom?" She's getting all these letters from the people that she's in debt with and constantly having to go to court. It's terrible. You need to mail out paper copies to your clients sooner, so that we can prepare our tax returns in a more timely manner. Some of us do not have access to a printer! Last year, it arrived so late that I had to pay my preparer to create an Amended Return - boo!

We started our program with Freedom Debt Relief in May 2018 and enrolled approximately $29k in debt. We made our payments consistently for the first 2 years until the pandemic hit in March 2020, and even still made sure to keep in touch to make consistent payments throughout so we could keep our program as best on track as possible. By the time March 2020 rolled around, we had already paid nearly $11k into our program ($487 per month for 22 months) and had only resolved 2 small accounts. We still had 2 $10k loans, and several larger credit cards and a health bill to settle, so it made it difficult for me to understand how FDR could have already taken $11k of our money by March 2020 and tell us that our projected graduation was not until 2030. If this were true, that meant we would have been on the FDR program for 12 years and paid over $70k to our dedicated account when we only enrolled $29k in debt in the program.
When asked how that could be, FDR reps continuously said that is just the way it is and would try to explain away how $29k could somehow translate to $70k when the mere point of this program was to provide relief and negotiate lesser amounts so we do not even have to pay the full $29k back. In November 2021 we hit our lowest point financially since the start of the pandemic and subsequently stopped making payments to our FDR program because this was not considered as important as other bills to us.
During this time we realized that FDR was not doing much for us, so we decided to remove all but 2 accounts from the program so we could settle ourselves. 2 of the accounts were legal accounts, 1 of which we already ended up settling on our own directly with the attorneys and has since been paid in full. The other we are working on negotiating and should have this resolved by end of May/early June. We also pulled another credit account from the program with a balance of $1300 that did not involve attorneys that I was able to settle and since pay in full for only $576. If we had stayed with FDR for these accounts, we would have ended up paying much more and waited much longer to have them fully settled. Additionally, one of the $10k loans we had on the account was written off as bad debt and we were issued a 1099-C to add on our tax filing for 2021.
This meant FDR only had one remaining account for us, our 2nd $10k loan, that needed to be negotiated and settled. However, when I reached out to them this week (week of 4/4/2022) to ask why my payment still needed to be $487/month they told me that it was due to the way the program was set up and that my payment amount would remain the same, regardless of whether I took accounts off or not. We did add an account during our time with FDR, however, which brought our monthly payment from the original $468 to $487, so it was obvious FDR had no problem increasing our program deposit when adding accounts, but they certainly wouldn't work with us when accounts were removed. This clearly made no sense to me and caused frustration. Therefore, I made the final decision to terminate our program and take the final account into my own hands for negotiation.
When we started with FDR, we had 9 enrolled accounts at $29,586 with a monthly payment of $468. We added 1 - 2 additional accounts and our payment landed at $487 per month. Of the nearly 4 years with FDR, we only settled 3 of our accounts, removed 4 (2 legal, 1 health bill and 1 creditor), had 1 written off as bad debt, and the final ($10k loan) in which was removed with the termination of our program this week. Essentially, we paid a whole lot of money, approximately $19k in monthly deposits to only have 3 accounts for a grand total of approximately $5k settled. Where did the other $14k go? Freedom Debt Relief is no better than the very creditors they claim to help relieve their customers from. They are a scam and are not out to help relieve your debt or stress, only make it worse and suck you into a money pit. I want my money back.

I do not like the structured settlements because it seems like they stretch the program out longer meaning more deposits. Sure, the accounts are getting paid without me having to do the negotiating. So, we are still in the program and will at least be in the short term.

The cutoff date seem like it too long. They do reach out to confirm my updates. Why not pay off the lowest amount first. I tried to purchase a air conditioner unit. But my Credit report was denied. My Credit report is important.

The 21% over the settlements is abusive, even more charge $10.00 for each creditor pay check (suppose to be included in the settlement). I am paying more than the debt I had at the beginning. I don’t recommend nobody this company, that’s all lies, I was informed I was going to pay about 70% less the original debt, it’s a lie, by the end of the program I’ll be pays over my original debt! Better you negotiate yourself with the creditors that will safe money for sure.

It seemed as if there was no way to pay these debts off. I contacted several debt relief companies to help us with it. The only person that was professional, friendly, answered my questions and explained the process well was the guy with Freedom Debt Relief. I'm slightly disappointed that it is going to take a bit longer than expected to get them all paid off, but when I look at the alternative, it isn't a big deal. The website is great. I can easily see everything on it.

Rocket Loans settlement is taking too long. Realizing this now, 3 years later when I started this I could have done this all myself 2 years quicker. I was lazy then. Also, once settlements are made they still; benefit FDR and the client more than the customer. Settlements are stretched out to 50 dollars a month for 36 payments when you have enough FDR balance to pay in to pay it off 3 times over.
Example: I have a settlement that the original balance was $584.21 and FDR settled with them at 233.68. Get this though! They stretched it out to 24 payments of 9 dollars a month when my FDR balance is $16,000! Just don't get how they could just pay off the 233.68 when I have a balance that large. The big thing here to remember people is we put ourselves in this situation, not FDR. Learn from me and just don't be lazy. You signed up for this...

The program of FDR worked pretty well. I still have another year and a half. It wasn't bad when I first started, but when I turned 65, my income dropped in half. So my debt is now more than a third of my income. If they could do a lesser amount for a longer period, they might get some lower-income people rather than filing bankruptcy.

Ok they are efficient, effective, and polite. I have been content with my results so far. I am happy having the access to their abilities to aid me with my debt. We still have work to do but it is going well so far.

Not sure I'm doing the right thing for the most part. I only have a few things that got away from me and they aren't even in default yet. I talked to someone twice the third time I was sick and haven't heard back from them since.

I feel that I was treated extremely well by your agent Tony F. He explained all aspects of the entire deal, he answered all my questions very accurately and was always very respectful. I think he actually felt how serious our situation was and went that extra mile to make our deal happen. When a creditor turns debt over to an attorney office to handle debt it would seem better if your legal team contacted then before a court summons is filed. Also your attorney's office should have more contact with client to get things done quickly and easily.

I have only been with Freedom Debt Relief for a couple of months. So far, they have been very informative and efficient in handling my debt relief program. You care about me and getting me debt-free, you are patient and kind and doesn't waste time when a settlement comes through, you call and want my respond fast so you can negotiate the settlement in a timely fashion. Depending who you speak with you receive all different confusing information. You cannot even be the deciding factor on paying off a credit card if you have other debts still visible because they do what they want with any additional deposits you make. I am very sorry that I've enrolled my debt and have to stay with them until everything is settled. Oh did I mention that I still had 2 credit cards that still have not even been negotiated with until 1 of them sued me (in the making for over a year) and I have been enrolled in the program for 2 years already. Now I get to go to court in 3 months with NO assistance from FDR (which they said in the beginning they would help with legal, but that was not true).
I didn't declare bankruptcy after getting a divorce as I wanted to honor the debt that I created with my spouse. Did you know that the credit card companies also can send you 1099s for the amount you save, which is considered to be income? Yeah me either...so really you are screwing yourself even harder as the fees you pay the company is basically what you are now being taxed on so you lose more money.
The remaining debt that they have not even negotiated with yet sent me a letter 2 years ago for half the amount of debt it is at now to payoff, but they told me to trust them and it would all workout. YES I stupidly trusted this company. I HIGHLY suggest that you look elsewhere when trying to settle your debt and consolidate as this company lets the debt continue to increase and sometimes you end up paying more on the debt then what you originally enrolled. THINK WISELY! At the time I had NO choice as the divorce and not having a job during COVID! Do NOT get taken advantage of like I did!!! ***WARNING....DANGER....****

Unfortunately we are unable to control when creditors decide to take legal action. We thoroughly discuss the possibility of creditors taking legal action as well as the possibility of receiving 1099-C forms. I am glad that I caught the commercial on television for Freedom Debt Relief. I really did not know what I should do but I knew that I did not want to file for bankruptcy. I want to pay all of my debt. FDR is giving me that opportunity to do so.

The lawyers never answer, the guys at the phone never solve your doubts, always asking for more money to make an arrangement. The arrangements are always for almost the same amount that I owed. I just want to finish with this.

Easy to follow and easy to change/customize process. Freedom is always available to help if you can't do it on the client dashboard. Almost anything can be done on the client dashboard. It's very intuitive and user friendly. Just stick to the program and deposit as much as you can as soon as you can. This way you can move past this.

For the most part I’m satisfied, but there’s 2 things that’s really upsetting me. The first thing is that from day 1 I’ve been asking y’all to add Mariner Finance to my debt. Y’all told me that they haven’t reported to any Credit bureaus that y’all wasn’t worried about them or that they're obviously not reporting me or something along those lines. They are suing me now and I’m still trying to get y’all to add these people. The other thing is I was told pay the $366 monthly on time I’ll be fine but now y’all keep sending me stuff wanting more money. Well if I had more money I wouldn't be in this situation.

The normal process of adding an account to the program requires a recent statement of the account, once the account is added to the program there is also an increase to the deposit.
