I couldn't see an end in sight but thanks to this company I was able to get out of the cycle of credit card debt. Freedom Debt Relief was able to save me thousands in interests rates and negotiated a settlement with 5 credit card companies saving me thousands more.

I am fairly new to this, so far it has been a good experience. The people I have spoken to have answered all my questions so far. The only inconvenience I guess is that it takes long to go on to the next settlement. I know you all know your job and it will be very helpful, it is nerve racking.

Updated on 11/7/2023: First time when I got a call from FDR I was surprised and unsure about what they offered me. But now I'm overwhelming from how it works for me.. When you read this and has card debts go in contact with FDR. There was also one minus. I sent Paperwork to the PObox and it is going lost. Maybe the post service or others are responsible for it. All in all take it.

Since I received a lawsuit on 5/14 I have sent all the documentation asking for help from Freedom but no one has contacted me to help me not even Freedom lawyers to give me advice on what I should do.

I found the Freedom Debt Relief from TV news about consumers debts redemption in Texas. I am still waiting to see how the Company is working on my debts. It is clear that I can finish in 4 years or so with reduced monthly payments on negotiated settlements. I can not do negotiation alone. I am a totally hearing impaired person. Can't use cellphone for communications. Ty.

It is with pleasure that I can say Freedom Debt Relief has saved my life. I am 71 years old and for many years I struggled to get by using credit cards. One day I was discussing and my finances with my son and he suggested applying to FDR. I took his advice and had a new adventure in managing my debt and allowing FDR to manage my largest debt which was close to $19,000. I was terribly nervous but anything was better than the situation I was in.
FDR took care of the debtor calls. This was great because the stress was heavy on my mind. I paid a small amount each month and FDR took care of the rest. I felt at ease because I could call FDR customer service most anytime and they were there to help. Always cheerful, always wanting to help me. It's really People Helping People. I really felt like FDR genuinely cared about me. Getting out of debt added more years to my life. I have time to enjoy life and keep my health manageable. I am blessed.

When I first started researching Freedom Debt Relief (FDR) in 2021, I had a hard time finding very detailed, truthful reviews. I am going to give a lot of details in here in hopes that it will make someone's decision easier if he/she reads this. I'll start with a disclaimer: this program did not work for me, but I won't say that it wouldn't work for anyone. I think everyone's specific situation is different. My only goal here is to give information that no one gave me before I signed up for this program.
I was a single mother freshly out of an abusive relationship when I started this program. Most of my debt was either for medical bills or regular bills that I had to put on a credit card because I didn't have the means to pay them as they became due. My daughter was only a year old. I worked full time, but was overwhelmed by debt. I signed up for this program and enrolled three debts. We'll call them "Big Debt," "Medium Debt," and "Little Debt." As required by the program, I stopped payment on all three debts as soon as I enrolled.
FDR handled Little Debt quite well. It was negotiated down from $12,040 to $3,958 (a 30% settlement). This settlement was authorized at the end of October, 2021, when I had been in the program for roughly 7 months. In December, I applied my entire Christmas bonus to my dedicated account ($4,000). I made payments faithfully and watched as my account grew over $7,000. By May, I still hadn't heard any updates and started getting slightly impatient. Medium Debt was $12,679 at the time of enrollment in the program. I reached out to the creditor directly and was informed that they do not negotiate settlements. They have a percentage that they will accept as a lump sum, and a larger percentage that can be paid over a year.
FDR communicated the larger settlement percentage to me, even though I had enough funds in my account to cover the smaller settlement percentage as a lump sum, and I declined it, telling them that I'd prefer to pay the smaller amount upfront. I got so frustrated during this process that I called FDR to terminate the program. The gentleman who I spoke to talked me out of terminating by telling me that they expected to settle Big Debt for $9,000. Big Debt was $22,668 at the time of enrollment so this was a HUGE savings to me and made me feel much better about the program.
I stayed with FDR. In July, I was served with papers as I was being sued by Big Creditor for the full $22,668. When I contacted FDR, I will say that they were super helpful. They immediately got my case to an attorney who would answer the complaint and prevent a judgment from being issued. Being sued is incredibly stressful and I am grateful that I had the program to assist me through that process. FDR suggested that I take out a loan from their partner, Consolidation Plus, to pay Big Creditor upfront and get myself out of legal trouble.
The representative from Consolidation Plus was so kind, but I was in tears throughout our entire phone conversation. He told me that Big Debt (remember this is the one FDR told me they were looking to settle for $9,000) would likely be settled for $20,279 (about 89% of the enrolled debt), that I would be paying interest on the loan at a rate of 25.28%, that I would still be paying settlement fees to FDR (more on this in a moment), and that I would ultimately end up paying almost $45,000 over the next 5 years. Now you likely understand the tears. Here I thought I'd be saving a ton of money on this debt, and that couldn't be further from the truth.
According to the Consolidation Plus rep, the creditor that I had Big Loan through almost never negotiates for much lower than a full amount (which is in direct conflict with what I was told by the rep who said he believed it would be settled for $9,000). Not only would I be paying this huge sum of money for Big Debt, but I had perfect credit before the program, and now it was completely ruined so I couldn't look for alternatives on a different loan. Big Debt ended up being settled for $20,726, and now I will be paying over $800 a month to FDR's sister company for the next five years in order to make this go away. I have ruined my credit, I have been sued, and I'm going to continue struggling for 5 more years - the payments are just now going to FDR instead of to my creditors.
Here's the numbers of how things worked out for me: my enrolled debt was $47,387. The money that was actually paid to my creditors was $32,621.90. The settlement fees that I had to pay to FDR totaled $10,069.74. So if I had never taken out the loan and was just paying FDR for the settled debt and the settlement fees, I would have paid $42,691.64 (about $4,700 less than what I actually owed). Not terrible, but worth ruining your credit, stopping payments, the stress of a lawsuit, constant creditor calls, etc.? I don't think so.
Add to this the fact that I did have to take out a loan and the numbers are incredibly depressing. Consolidation Plus estimated on my Truth-in-Lending Act Disclosure Statement that I'll pay $19,072.47 in interest and fees for the loan. So I'm paying the amount of the settled debt, the settlement fees, AND the loan interest/fees for a whopping total of $61,764.11, more than $14,000 over my enrolled debt. I imagine I would have been much better off reaching out to my creditors directly and asking them to work with me.
About the settlement fees - I understand the percentage varies, but is close to the same in most cases. Mine was 21.25% (better than the interest rate of my loan at least). This is a percentage of the ENROLLED DEBT amount. No matter how much FDR saves you on a negotiation, they're getting paid the same amount. So no matter if they had been able to work with Big Lender and negotiate down to $9,000 vs. settling with them for over $20,000, their slice of the pie is the same. They made almost $5,000 on that debt, although I only saved less than $2,000. Kind of seems to negate any incentive to negotiate aggressively on a client's behalf.
Note that there is a program guarantee that says you won't lose money overall in the program (if the total program settlement cost is more than the debt enrolled, FDR will refund you the difference), but this doesn't take into account the money you'll have to expend if you're put in the position where you need to take out a loan like I did.
When I signed up for the program, these are the estimates I was provided:Estimated Payoff Amount: $33,369 - $36,882 (which includes debt settlement fees)
Estimated Program Length: 48 months (which would have had me debt-free in May of 2025)
Compare to the actual figures:Payoff Amount (including settlement fees): $42,691.64
Time Until Debt Free: 4.5 years (plus the year and a half that I've already spent in the program, so debt free in March of 2027)
And the payoff amount grows exponentially when the loan fees are included. Again, I'm not discrediting anyone who says that this program works for them. I can see how it would work for some people. I am leaving the program feeling more hopeless than ever and regretting that I ever signed up for it, at least without talking to my creditors first to make sure there was no other way. If you're reading this, it means you've reached a point of desperation that I am all too familiar with, and I wish you nothing but the best.

I never talk with anyone about my debt, except when I was applying for a loan, credit card, doing taxes, and finally with FDR. If I was ask about personal financial problems by someone, then I could advise them. I have made all the right decisions during my lifetime and some bad ones. My experience was good for the most part. But my negotiator indicated he was too busy for me and I should do all my questions through his secretary. So I felt a little put off there. Also, I later found out that one of my cards they had saved to the end, the Discover card, was because they were the hardest to negotiate with. I always felt like if they're the hardest, work on them first. I didn't understand their strategy on that. But we've got it resolved. I think I'm paying more than what I thought I would be paying, but it has taken a lot of stress off. Working with Freedom has helped me a lot. There were many factors that got me into debt. I would have never climbed out without working with them.

Freedom Debt Relief negotiated settlements above our agreed upon monthly payments and forced us to up our deposits by $204 per month. And also extended an agreement when a collections firm tacked on 7 $600 payments in the name of interst over the time of the repayment on the date of our final payment on an account. All this has made us live check to check and our mortgage late multiple times in the past few years!

Very helpful and grateful FDR was able to help me resolve my debt. But..payments take too long to process and reflect on the client dashboard. I also ended up paying $1700 in excess funds (which was refunded) but I don't understand why that was necessary.

My husband and myself were getting bogged down with credit card payments. Our credit was not good because could only make the minimum payment. We thought we would never get out from under them. I am not satisfied with the settlement with Chase after over a year in the program. In the end, with fees, I am paying more than my original debt. I was told that Chase is becoming less willing to negotiate. I wish the FDR program would have worked on reducing this debt first. As it stands, I only saved $685 of this debt, because of the interest and penalties that were incurred. That's my truth. MK **

I am having a horrific time with your company. I have been enrolled with your debt relief program for a few years now and at first everything started out great. A few of my debts were resolved. I’ve been making my regular deposits. However things have come to a standstill. I was able to make a rather large deposit to my dedicated account that was more than enough to settle all of my accounts however this has been drug out for months and months and months and I can’t get any answers when I call and talk to customer service. I’m always told that someone will reach out and get back to me and the customer service rep doesn’t know what is going on and why things aren’t settled.
At this point I’m Very skeptical that you are even going to satisfy my remaining debt and am considering finding a way to withdraw all of my money and settle things myself with my creditors. You are holding over $20,000 of my money and I’m very unhappy with the lack of resolve on your part now if someone actually read this message can someone please reach out to me and tell me what the hell is going on. I couldn't get ahead in paying my bills. Minimum payment just kept adding interest charges. So I contacted Freedom Debt. I have had to consult Freedom Debt Relief a number of times regarding my participation in the program. Those I have talked with were always courteous, understanding, and knowledgeable. The only drawback is that I've had to initiate multiple contacts in order to obtain complete guidance regarding enrollment of a new creditor. The Freedom Debt Relief is fantastic. I was skeptical about using them to consolidate my Credit Cards that I had. They gave me confidence to use their company. Everything that the representative told me was true. They worked with the credit card company to lower your debt amount. They kept you updated with everything on your accounts. They told me at the end that they will have a little savings for you, and they did. I looked at my my account and saw that the deposit money in my account after the three years had been completed with them. They are very honest company. There was no out of pocket expense with them to get you started.

Wasn't very satisfied with the fees when a settlement was made. Creditors send 1099 so whatever is negotiated to helps comes later in tax deductions. Whenever a documented was emailed to customer service to add to file it would be done wrong and cause a duplicate of same account that was already in debt plan.

It is a hard pill to swallow when you realize you are in debt and see no end at the tunnel. My husband and I lost both of what we thought would be life long careers in 2019. Shortly thereafter Covid Pandemic hit. And here we were. Stuck, only way to live was by using what credit we had. Praying that things would change, and we would find work. But then schools shut down, I became mom, school, teacher and trying to work from home. My husband was working a dead-end job. With no hope in sight. Almost three years later, boom swimming in debt. We are not bad people. We did what we had to do to keep our family above water. So, after some life changes and getting back on our feet. I reached out to the first debt consolidation firm. To which I will not name. BUT absolutely the worst experience ever. They not only made me feel ashamed, but they basically treated me like a very low-class citizen.
I did some searching and happened to catch the commercial on TV about Freedom Debt. I was given the opportunity to speak with a man named Cory **. Not only was he nice. But so very helpful. Personable, positive. He didn't treat me like a 3rd class citizen. He completely understood our position. And He literally made it his goal to help us. This problem we are in didn't happen overnight. But It is a problem we can solve. But, without Cory, this wouldn't be happening. Since speaking with him, we have things happening that will definitely secure our future. My husband got a phone call about a new contract. And I found a job that doesn't discriminate against my medical choice to not be vaccinated. So, I am finally going back to work. So, things are looking up.
Cory was able to help us get set up on a plan. To which, It won't takes us the time allotted to complete. Simply because, it seems that the good lord is looking out for us OR CORY is our good luck charm. Either way, I am embracing the new beginnings. Cory was so helpful, full of knowledge, And positive. Patient, polite, knowledgeable Extremely helpful understanding of my situation. Daughter had a stroke so I had to retire. Lost income of 4000.00 dollars a month. This program is a blessing. The experienced team was able to negotiate and pay off my debt sooner than expected. Just knowing I didn't have to do all the work put my mind at ease so I could focus on making the money to pay off the debt.
The two biggest issues I had were:
1. Freedom charges for everything even though they are getting a large percentage of fees for negotiating the debt. They will charge $10 to cut a check and other crazy fees. In my opinion these fees should be paid from the percentage they get.
2. The Legal team is non-responsive - biggest waste of $12 a month. One of my credit cards wanted to sue me for the debt and I kept uploading the documents to Freedom. They did nothing and never responded. When the credit card tried to serve me with court papers, Freedom told me to go ahead and let them serve me, go to court and tell them I have a lawyer. Seriously it was ridiculous. I paid $12 a month for over 2 years for access to legal and the legal group refused to help. I cancelled their services at that time so my $12 a month would go towards my debt.
I would do this program over and over again.

When I signed up Ebony ** was my worker and I was told this would all be done in 4 years, now 4 years later and there still is no end in sight. Not sure how you get away with this kind of crap but evidently the government allows it. And no I would never use this or any company like yours again. I would just file bankruptcy and ** be done with it. At least there are no lies in bankruptcy.

You have not lived up to your hype. I am still getting collection notices from creditors and you have failed to negotiate a decent settlement with my largest creditor, who is insisting on full payment. I could have negotiated a full payment schedule my own damn self! Now I am getting email from your affiliate asking if I want a loan to settle my debt, which would just pile more debt on top of what I already have. I responded with a request for interest rate information and payment options, but never heard back. I am seriously considering quitting your program.

In 2018 I was in debt that I thought that I would never get out of, until I found Freedom Debt Relief. Enrollment in the program was easy. The representative that assisted me was friendly and caring. I cannot say enough about this company! Completely professional and they take care of everything. I definitely would recommend them to anyone who has gotten into a little trouble. Now it’s not a overnight cure. I had health problems and had to use charge cards to pay bills. I was paying over 600 a month just to keep up. I contacted them and I was paying 375 a month. Still very tight being on disability but doable. They took care of everything! All I had to do was make sure the much lower amount of money was available to them every month. All the charge card companies were taken care of. I just can’t say enough. You can pay the charge card companies for the rest of your life or contact these people and deal with that debt for a few years for less money a month then just keeping up with the minimum payments.

They are doing a great Job. Because I am on SSI I asked them to take their time so that I would get fewer 1099-C's so I would not have to pay federal income Taxes and they seem to be doing this for me. In fact because I do not check in too often they want me to check in more often and I keep having to tell them that they are doing it the way we set it up in the beginning.

I was feeling completely overwhelmed with the amount of credit card debt I had accrued. I was paying the minimum payment on fifteen credit cards with no end in sight. I tried to figure out how pay off one by one by myself but I was not financially able to while paying the payments on all of the other ones plus my normal bills like car payment. This program allowed me to make one payment and in less than two years get them all paid off!!! I can’t believe I’m credit card debt free!!!!

Ever since COVID came into this world, my Life has been one big rollercoaster ride financially speaking. My credit was good before 2020 but as COVID hit in 2020 my credit took a huge plunge a few months in as I was unemployed for a few months and had to keep myself afloat with the credit cards. I had to pay rent and bills and all necessities and once I found a job I was already knees deep in debt and so I saw an ad for FDR a year and a half later and I decided to do it. I was only able to pay a bit above minimum payments to all my creditors because that’s all I had left out of my paycheck. I’m glad I did the FDR program now I can rest easy with all my debts behind me. Thank FDR for this new start in life and will keep going forward debt free once again. This was by far the best choice we ever made. Settled over $ 60,000 of debt, kept us out of court, via NLLG program, and saved us from bankruptcy. It wasn't an easy task by any means. It was a four year process, but well worth it. We learned a lot of lessons and it also taught my daughter how to handle her finances. We went from an 80% credit to debt ratio to 1% and now have a credit score over 820. These people are legit. While I believed I would never need a service like this, here I am. I am in disbelief but I'm happy a service like Freedom Debt Relief exists. My initial contact representative was with Daviana **. She was outstanding, professional, thorough, friendly and took the time to walk me through the process and answer my questions. The only issue I have had is that I was asked to schedule counseling calls through my client dashboard which I have done three previous times and never received a call on my appointment time. Today, I have scheduled for the fourth time, hopefully with some success. Other than that, I have been happy so far.

I would say the experience was okay. There is one debt that I was told they FDR would wait until the end because the creditor was an easy one to work with to settle the debt and the settlement amount would come in under 50%. This creditor had reached out and offered a settlement opportunity a few months after I joined FDR. FDR never followed up with the creditor. This creditor was saved to the end and FDR has informed me that this creditor is now in legal proceedings. I never received any notification from the creditor letting me know this. I have no choice but to believe FDR that this is true.
Now they did settle the debt at 75%, but the fees to settle the account is extremely high. Adding the debt and settlement fees is much higher than the actual debt. I am paying more for the actual account settlement. I feel that the amount for the settlement and fees should be added together and that should be the actual percentage of the settled debt. Currently FDR, separates the fees from the debt to give them a higher percentage on the amount of money they are supposedly saving the customer because they are not including their fees. It feels like false advertising.

Understanding why a certain amount of my deposit amount not clear. My question is why/how could I have a set amount to be deposited into my account if not all of my debt has been negotiated yet? Also if my situation has changed, I should have the ability to change my deposit amount.

One of my brothers used Freedom and he recommended that I go through it. With my divorce, I kept all the bills. The program is okay and I'm continuing with it. I can't feel the debts anymore. So far so good. However I was not aware that I would have to wait several months before you start negotiations. I did not clearly understand that you did not pay and I paid you back. But I pay in and you’re not going to make any negotiations until you have enough money to feel comfortable doing so.

When I originally signed on with Freedom Debt, I was very confident in what I was doing. I spoke with a gentleman named Albert, yes I remembered his name, and I was able to work out a payment plan that fit my budget. As time passed things began to go wrong. I lost my job, I was behind on mortgage payments, and three times I had been sued. I didn't know what to do. There were times when I didn't have enough money to feed my family or to pay for gas to work the part-time job I had. First, I prayed, then I called Freedom Debt and they were very helpful.
Any time I had a problem, a question or concern they supported me, talked with me and through the tears I had shed, they consoled me. Now, 6 years later, my prayers have been answered. I’ve made several attempts to transfer money into my account but it NEVER transfers and I’ve spoke with customer service who blames the bank and when I spoke to the bank it blames Freedom! I thought working with freedom was supposed to be less stressful but it isn’t at all!

If you include fee/charges of Freedom with your settlement amount your savings drop down to 10 to 20 %. Please shop around when you decide to pick any company to settle your debt. Freedom is not one of the best.

I am amazed at how effectively you work. Fast response, great communication. However, I only gave 4 stars in the review because of the price. Settlements fees are a bit expensive. However, the result is important. Honestly, I wouldn't have been able to do this all by myself, it's true that creditors contact me with their proposals, but they still treat a private person differently than a professional company.

I love FDR! When they reach a settlement they text you or e-mail you. You can just respond back in the text. So easy. They’ve helped me pay down or off much of my debt. Everything is excellent with resolving my debt. The only issue I have is, there is not a way to take off accounts on the website. You can add a debt account easily but not take one away. I have high anxiety about talking on the phone and I need to take off an account but there is no way to do it online.

Your team has been awesome. Negotiations have been timely and effective.. Notifications are through text and email which make easier so they are not missed. Need to add on a couple of accounts due to issue with roommate and need to know how to go about doing this. They have pulled report to see what has been added or missed and this is a great way to ensure all accounts have been actioned.

I signed up. They said we would get started right away and scheduled a welcome call. No one called. Contacted them and asked to speak with the welcome call dept, rep could not help. I called yesterday to cancel because it's been 6 weeks with no start to program or anyone calling me. Was told on a recorded line that I would not be contacted again and today I am asked for how do I rate the program that I am in. I AM NOT IN YOUR PROGRAM! STOP CONTACTING ME!

I've graduated despite receiving conflicting advice from FDR reps about settlement authorizations and when I asked for legal to review the advice given to me, I was ignored. Additionally, the estimated savings you claim I achieved is inaccurate as you don't take into consideration fees you charge, or the actual settlement amount paid. You only take into consideration the enrolled amount. Finally, I've been waiting for my account to close out and despite paying off all debt in the previous month, FDR continues to charge me a monthly service fee the following month. I was denied the refund of $21. This review will also be placed online.

Updated on 03/04/2023: At first it was rough. Got sued 4 times but it was taken care of and now paid off. I thought I made the wrong decision at first but I didn't almost paid off. You would benefit with this program and be happy.

I was skeptical about these programs but this really works…. Freedom Debt Relief not only took care of all my outstanding debt they got my monthly payments down to where I can afford and no more annoying phone calls from collectors!
