So far Freedom Debt Relief has been a great company to work with and has made the process very simple and easy to navigate. I am looking forward to continuing towards getting my revolving debt paid off/ eliminated. The fact that you can add or remove accounts is a wonderful thing and comes in handy in the event that you need to remove a card from the program due to the need to use it in a emergency or adding a new account to the program.

Going as planned. Service charges seem to be excessive. Things are going smoothly. They did not explain everything exactly when opening the account. I will be grateful once I complete everything. It will be nice to be debt free. My credit score took a big hit but it is slowly increasing.

I chose FDR to settle and assist in relieving my debt back in 2018. Throughout the four years I worked with them, I made many calls to the client service center for either assistance with being served for a debt or due to financial struggles and being unable to make an upcoming payment. I was always met with a good attitude and complete understanding.
I thoroughly ENJOYED working with FDR. They made my life SO much easier and I would recommend anyone to FDR who is struggling with debt. My anticipated graduation date was April of 2023. I woke up on an early September morning of 2022 and I had a deposit of over-payments. I rushed to my FDR dashboard and was congratulated for finishing my program. It was hands down the best surprise over the course of the last four years. It was a long four years, but I stuck with the program and it PAID OFF. Literally! Huge thank you to FDR. The law firm you use is not the best. Poor communication with customer. Called many times and they never returned my call and waited right up until the court date to finally call back, leaving me in the dark about what I needed to do about the court case.

I was not sure about doing the program at first, but just knowing that in a couple of years, compared to maybe 10 years, I will be debt free. Of course your credit score will drop massively but it's a part of the program. Break you down to build you up.

Essentially FDR has made settling my debt fairly easy as they have taken over all communications with my creditors.. I appreciate them handling all of this on my behalf. I have one year left in the program and there have been little to no issues that have not been quickly resolved. I believe that also pairing with the NLG was beneficial as there was a need for their services on one or two occasions. It was a good decision on my part to involve FDR to assist me with my debt resolution.

So far I’m very pleased with the service and staff. The experience is more than expected and the staff are very knowledgeable. The question and answer they offer to talk with creditors is very helpful and I used it with one creditor already. They said I won’t hear from them for at least 20 days.

I'm currently a teacher in the state Texas which basically means that my paycheck barely covers all my financial woes. I've been financially unstable ever since I was diagnosed with cancer and had to pay a huge amount out of pocket. This set my financial burdens in motion, but thanks to FDR's TV commercial, I took that first step into helping my and my family's financial hardships. Excellent customer service, this has given me a chance at living again. Helpful with my anxiety and depression. I’m able to purchase items I haven’t in the past. I am glad I went to Freedom Debt Relief to help me with my debt and after about 4 years I have that debt off my plate. Yes it has been difficult at times going through this process and yes you need to pay for their legal team because you could end up needing it…I did with 2 Banks. I will tell you though that their legal team is rough to work with even sometimes rude and demanding but they did end up getting the legal action stopped by the 2 banks.
I do think everyone should be made aware of all the monthly “fees” and monthly fees for each check they write on your behalf to the creditors. All I can say is ask all the questions beforehand so you’re not so surprised like I was when they came. I wish that the people who sell you on their system would be more honest with exactly what you are getting into and how much their fees and cut is ahead of time so that you go in with full knowledge. Don’t get me wrong as I am glad I did it and made it through but having all the information would have made the process sometime a little easier to handle. Good Luck!!!!

The Freedom Debt Relief program provides an easy way to get out of debt. The Freedom Debt Relief program takes away all of the stress out of dealing with creditors. I have done excellent in getting my debt reduced with Freedom Debt Relief. I'm pleased that I am nearing my graduation date. There is one small issue that Freedom can't seem to resolve, and that is that over the years, I keep getting Alerts that I haven't completed my Welcome Call. I did complete this call way back when I was supposed to, years ago. I've called so many times about it, but no one can fix the problem of me getting these alerts. I hope it doesn't interfere with me completing this process.

It took months to find a resolution to the final account. FDR stated they had no info to contact account. I provided the information numerous times. It was extremely frustrating. It seems to take so very long to get a response!

I made the right choice when I chose FDR! When I lost my job I didn’t know how I would pay my bills with $1609 a month unemployment. I went from making $4000 a month to almost nothing! I was scared and didn’t know what to do! Then the FDR commercial came on! The rest is history!!

Haven't started negotiation. First payment isn't until the 28th. Wish they could go ahead and get in touch with the card companies and begin negotiation. That would help with the calls and explanations to them. Really haven't had experience with them yet other than signing up. Need quicker negotiations.

This is a great program as long as you understand the risks involved. There are 2 items to consider, income tax impact and credit rating impact. The risks are well defined in the information provided before you agree to the program. When I started with FDR, So-go wasn’t offering debt consolidation loans. If they had, I would have thought long and hard about using them. It would have been faster and my credit score would not have taken a hit. On the other hand I would be paying the full amount rather than the negotiated amount. The FDR process works and teaches patience.

The flexibility and the negotiations team not being reachable to discuss an option to present to the creditor. I wanted credit for what I already paid on a debt so I could pay it off in full. I was instructed that is not how it's done here. This is taking way too long and my credit takes a huge hit due to collections being reported. The negotiations should include a good standing report by the creditor. The whole process is not aggressive enough. I'd like better credit help than that is provided to me the customer. I was told it didn't matter that I was using your service and it doesn't help my credit at all for any loans by multiple lenders.

The process is fairly straightforward, and the counselor explained it in good detail. We always want things to go faster, but the timeline is laid out for us too, and unless we suddenly have more money to pay off debts with, it is quite an accurate forecast. App is very good for uploading statements, etc.

I hired FDR to help with my credit card loans and after a year and a half, they did not respond to one of my creditors and in light I am now having my wages garnished for $3,400 a month and this will likely cause me to lose everything I have gained back from COVID. I have all of the legal proof from the creditor's attorney to prove there was no response from FDR for negotiations and or notification of judgement!

I put extra $$ in my dedicated account so I could have a breather from my monthly pymts for a couple months. Without letting me know, FDR took out more than my monthly payment for their fees. I signed up for $524/month & was not told that would fluctuate when I put the xtra $$ in. Horrible horrible policy to not get in touch w/ me & take more than a monthly pymts worth of $$ for their fees instead of paying the debt collector. When you sign up for a payment amount, that's what it should be each month unless you, the client, say otherwise. I lost my settlement as I didn't have more $$ to put in & this was literally a few months before it would have been paid. Do NOT recommend.

Instead of working to get a lower settlement and taking what’s left of the dedicated amount for the payment “fee” I was charged an extra $1500 for the law firm that poorly negotiated. Ridiculous. Now I’m STILL paying for the next several months to pay off the lawyers! Very poor negotiations - I could have paid off my credit cards myself. Will NOT recommend anyone doing this. You were supposed to be helping ME!

Updated on 1/3/2023: We are happy that two debts have been resolved. We thought they would be paid off, but instead monthly payments have been negotiated. So kinda' feel like we still have those debts. At least they don't call anymore. Wish Freedom Debt would contact more creditors to stop the phone calls. We are experiencing numerous medical situations and the phone calls make us anxious at a time when we should only be concerned with getting medical problems solved. So much upfront expenses involved in our medical situations, money is so tight.
See that commercial where one client says she has more money in her pocket and that is not our situation beginning in February. Makes us concerned that bankruptcy is our only way to go and we do not want to do that. And if more creditors were contacted, some pressure would be gone. The creditors would be working with FDR and not hounding us. is this possible?
Since only monthly payments are being made on settled debt seems like there should be money to contact other creditors. Navient is a student loan and they call at least 6 times a day. Would love FDR to contact them. And then we have Fingerhut/Advantage - low balance so can this creditor be contacted by you so they would leave us alone. Also Home Design/Synchrony Bank floods us with e-mails. Now they are offering no interest payments. Good time for FDR to take over that account.
Once a creditor hears from FDR, they leave us alone. That would be wonderful. Any assistance would be appreciated. Sent copies of letter from Home Design/Synchrony Bank and Citi Mastercard. Seems like they are open to negotiations. Also how do we find out how much those two resolved accounts cost us with FDR? Not sure how to do that. For FDR to contact the accounts mentioned here would really take some anxiety away. We appreciate you and do hope FDR will contact the mentioned accounts to begin negotiation. Thank you.
Original review: I am sick of all the phone calls. Seems that FDR could notify creditors of our partnership and stop the calls. I also do not understand why the largest debt is paid off first when the tiny ones are paid off only at the end.

When I first started the journey with FDR I was like, "This is awesome," until the fees for everything started rolling in. That needs to be addressed more in the consult and finalization process. I didn't realize nor was I fully informed about the fees that are associated with everything. I think you should be more detailed with everything.

If this something you have to do it the. Go for it but I do not recommend. The settlement fees are high, also run the risk of garnishment, and you run the risk of the payment being late so then you have to deal with getting served. And they don’t answer right away. Just the worst.

Discover's legal court action for garnishment of wages response by them made it more difficult for me and FDR. The situation left me wondering what my options would be. My income is very limited and I feel that using half of my current wages from my part-time job to pay my debt is as much as I can afford. Hopefully, Discover now as of 9/12 - 9/13 will accept the terms presented. I appreciate the assistance, for the first time, I unhappily wondered about a bankruptcy option.

I recently graduated from my FDR program. I had a significant amount of credit card debt and the interest rates made it feel like I was going nowhere even with my month payments. Things are not being paid. I have started having to pay my credit cards so that they wouldn’t go to collections. I did this to help my credit, not make it worse. I now have to dig my credit out of the dirt.

Everything has fair so far, except I never received the "Welcome Call" after an appointment was set and emails sent confirming this! Contacted customer service myself to proceed on. Had some issue conversing with that person, as she talked entirely too fast and did not allow me to finish a response before talking again. Asked to skip this part and send me to Account Verification Dept.
Talked to "Carlton" in account verification. He was very helpful and easy to discuss the issues with. Told me exactly what I needed and how I would be able to upload these docs. Was to receive a follow up email with a link to upload additional documents. Did not receive that email! However I had saved an original email with this link, so I proceeded on again, on my own! Most of my rating is directed towards the original contact person, Shamand **. That conversation convinced me to give this a try. Follow up since enrolling has not been what was told or expected.

In your mind you think you can pay off what debt you have, but in reality when you get to a point where you are robbing Peter to pay Paul it’s probably not going to happen. It’s tough getting the collection calls but believe in the program and it will level out.

This is a great company to work for you. The staff was always helpful, friendly and courteous. They never made me feel bad about the situation I was in. I started the program 2 years ago. I was only paying the minimum amount on 3 credit cards with the balances rising. When I started the program, we agreed on a payment that I could live with, making me really for the first time budget my money. I did keep a credit card with a $2000 credit limit as with the current times I needed to be able to pay medical bills, purchases, etc. on line. My first settlement was a little over 4 months into the program. It was a little hard trying to ignore the past due notices I was receiving via emails, because I had never missed a payment with my credit cards.
As a side note, I think this is why they always were wanting to increase my credit limits. This was hard to turn down, thinking I would get things straightened out with this extra credit offered me..,,and of course that did not work. My first settlement was 60% of what I owed. I continued to make all my payments, and after an accumulation of these payments, a second offer was made and then the third. As of July of this year, my debt has been paid in full. I still have my credit card with the $2000 limit and that is how it will stay. I highly recommend them and appreciated their expertise and help.

Several years ago I had a problem with credit cards. I had a heart attack and many medical bills that go with that. I called FDR from a website online. I talked to a very nice young man named Jason. I don't remember his last name after all this time but I'm sure of Jason. He took a lot of time explaining the program, the dashboard, the negotiation process with my creditors, and the monthly contribution. I signed up that very day. We established the amount of my monthly contribution. What a relief to have my creditors off my back and knowing they would get paid. Not as much as they wanted but paid. My worries were over. The monthly amount was taken out of my bank and the creditors were paid. I paid no attention to the process and before I knew it, I was paid up. I lived credit free for several years before I had a stroke and the medical credit cycle started again.

The customer service is good...way better than most businesses. However...I learned after I signed on to FDR that some creditors will not accept the original payment agreement...demanding a quite larger monthly payment and/or upfront payment. I was served a summons at my door. I feel as though I could've negotiated it on my own and possibly not have paid as much. I am hoping no other creditors do this (sue me). I cannot afford it upfront..if I could, I would've paid it myself.

I reached out to FDR when my debt was overwhelming me and my outgo was greater than my income. I was thinking it was basically a debt consolidation loan but found out that it's much better. They were able to take my information and contact my creditors then negotiate a lower amount to pay. After 2 of my creditors were paid in full, I was contacted about a debt consolidation program that negotiates lower rates with the remainder of my creditors then pays them off. Then I will continue to make payments until paid in full. This program is so much better than bankruptcy or a regular debt consolidation loan. I'm thankful I made the call.

Everything we had questions about, all we had to do is call and we’re treated with respect. It was “pain free”! It was a relief for 4 years that we didn’t have mail from credit cards or other debtors. We liked it also that we didn’t have correspondence from y’all except for updates.

So you settled on the Destiny account and I saved around $320, but with your fees, I only saved around a little more than $100. I thought this program was to help consumers was to save on the debts. But with your fees, I really don't see the big savings.

There were some initial issues getting all of my accounts consolidated, but I’m now over halfway to getting all my accounts settled. Don’t be afraid to keep going and talk through anything that is confusing! I have had excellent customer service experiences on the phone and through asking questions via email. The dashboard helps keep track of where you are in total, as well as how each settlement is structured.

I called FDR and spoke to Sidney **. He explained to me how the program works and he looked over my debt to set up a program for me to pay off my unsecured debts. Yes I was late 4 days on my monthly payment because my rent was raised without notice or I would be homeless, I had to wait for my next pay day. I called and notified you all a week in advance. I did what I was told to do. The person told me to wait and follow the Directions when sent to me on the website. And on my JCPenney account statement said it wasn’t due till 8/26/2022 plus I made my monthly payment plus another payment of $89.00. It shouldn’t take so long for you all to get the money. It was out of my bank that Settlement should not have been canceled plus I would not have made that extra payment that I was told to do. I needed that money for food.

It would take around 21 yrs to pay off even though it would hurt my credit I would be done in 4 yrs before I die so I can get my debt in a better place. It's nice to have a company help in hard times, the only other option would be bankruptcy.
