    I am so pleased and relieved to have found this company straight away. The gentleman I first spoke to explained everything. I understood how it works what to do about phone calls from creditors and what to expect as the months go by already.     On apx 4/22/15 I was advised by ** that Freedom needed an extra $180 for six payments ($1,080) to take care of my debt with Discover Card. I asked if I could make a one time payment would the settlement be less. ** called back and said if I could pay $1,280 the debt would be settled. I gave the ok for the separate withdrawal. 4/25/15 spoke to **. I questioned if the $1,280 was the TOTAL amount necessary to satisfy the debt with Discover. ** said yes and it was a savings of over 70%.

    I called on 4/2715 to find out why the funds were not been taken from my checking account, and asked again if the $1,280 was the TOTAL amount to satisfy the debt. It was then that I was informed that it was not and the additional funds were taken from the Freedom account. Initially Freedom wanted $1,080 over six payments, but it cost me a additional $200 for a one time payment. I'm glad the debt is satisfied and behind me, but I have lost all trust with your representatives. Moving forward, I now have to call in 3 or more times to get an honest answer.

    I have been enrolled in the program for 6 months and 2 of my 10 accounts are already settled for quite a bit lower than they were asking. They worked with me and I picked my payment date and at anytime you want to pay more (which is good because the more you pay towards the payoff the quicker they can settle) you can pay more. The phone calls from creditors were quite annoying but if you just let them know that you are working with Freedom Debt Relief then most of those calls will fade away, and the ones that don't I just auto reject them on my phone.....:)

    The thing that a lot of people don't realize is that the more money that you put into your settlement account the quicker they can get them settled. A lot of people want to have a really low monthly payment.....which would be ok, but unless you put more additionally they won’t be able to help you until you have enough money built up to use for negotiations. They are excellent about communicating when you have an issue, or a question and the website is really easy to navigate and keep up with your progress.

    We began our debt program with Freedom Debt Relief in 2013. Our initial contact with their company was with **, one of their representatives. We spoke on the phone for hours as to what Freedom could do to help resolve our credit card debt. One of my top questions with him was "Will we be responsible, financially, for any 1099C forms sent to us by our creditors?" His response, and I have it in writing, was to "shred any 1099C forms we would receive. We are insolvent and do not have to worry about paying tax on these resolutions."

    Since the beginning of this year, we have been inundated with these forms from Freedom. Their response now when we call is that "they are not tax experts, please consult one". This was my main concern and I believe I was lied to by this company and fear further debt incurred from the IRS and possible bankruptcy now. I believe that ** got us to sign a contract under false pretense. Be sure to totally investigate your liabilities before dealing with this company.

    After I called Freedom to cancel my account with them, they said that I'll have my money back (the monthly drafts they were saving in an account for future use) within 72 hours. I received my money today right when they said I would have it back. Their program may not have worked for me and I cancelled my account with them, but they were honest enough to return my money back. Thank you Freedom.

    I received an email/solicitation from Freedom Debt Relief around August of 2014. At that time I was having problems paying back my credit cards. I got in contact with them and they seemed pleasant and eager to HELP me. It was set that they'll take $424 from my checking account every month. They have gathered around $2800 from the monthly payments I have been paying them. 6 months have passed and they still have not started the negotiations with any of the 3 creditors I owed money to. I was getting very restless as the phone calls from the creditors were increasing to 15 calls a day.

    I called Freedom several times asking them why was the procedure taking so much time and that I was being very pressured by the creditors. They said that they couldn't stop the calls and that they had to accumulate more funds before starting the negotiations (being that I owed $30 000). One of the creditors had a smaller amount (around $2 000) and when I asked why don't they start with them (since they had the funds from the $2800 they already got from me) they said that this creditor was very fierce and that they needed longer time to reach an agreement. That meant more aggravation for me with no results.

    So now I was getting badgered by all 3 creditors, my credit score was extremely low (because of non payment), 2 credit accounts transferred the accounts to collection agencies. I was extremely unhappy. So I decided to take things into my own hands and deal with my problem another way. I email Freedom letting them know that I want out. They answered me back regretting my decision and telling me that my account has been transferred to the team who will close my account.

    My monthly draft was scheduled for 4 days later. So I emailed Freedom's customer service telling that since I am closing my account, not to withdraw any more money from my checking (I specified twice that there won't be funds in my checking account). 4 days are plenty to pass on the message. But what do you know, 4 days later they withdraw the money from my checking, leaving it in negative digit. I emailed Freedom 3 times yesterday asking them to reverse that last withdrawal but they did not even bother to answer me back; let alone reverse the last transaction.

    I had put my trust in that company but it seems they were only after the 21% they were going to get off the balance of my initial debt. I don't know if I am going to get my money back. I lost all trust in Freedom Debt Relief and feel betrayed.

    I started with them in August and have only had 1/7 settled. The only reason it was settled was because of collections. If it hadn't gone to collections I'd still be waiting which I think is ridiculous! I just settled with one of my debtors and settled myself for 50%. When I called Freedom to let them know I need to drop that account they told me to send a fax with an explanation. Why do I have to justify my actions!? You guys are sitting around collecting your money while my accounts are going to collections and getting sued by these companies. There's so much mixed information from every representative you call. I do not recommend this company at all!!!

Am hoping that the process would move along a little faster in order to alleviate that number of phone calls from creditors.     I applied for a personal loan with ** who contacted me through my application on LendingTree. In speaking to him once, he informed me only when I asked that the rates range from 11-24%, but it would depend on factors. I figured, since my credit is excellent, I'd be in the lower range. After 2 weeks of back and forth emails and sending documents, I finally received the loan contract. In addition to the loan not being as much as I requested, and the term being 5 years vs 3, the interest rate was 24.3%!!

    When I questioned **, he lied and stated it was the interest and payment he had informed me about, and had the nerve to say I wasn't "paying attention". I would never have proceeded knowing definitely that the interest rate would be as horrible as a credit card. I would have appreciated honesty in return and instead felt like I was dealing with a manipulative teenager, who then blames the other instead of taking some accountability for not preparing me or explaining why I was provided the worst possible interest rate. I would never recommend this company or this loan officer to work with.

    It has been six months since I signed up and only one account has been reached. I am still being harassed by three of my accounts with phone calls as many as 4-5 times a day. I guess that I am impatient. I just felt after 5 months of paying up that at least they would have been notified. Actually, I am not known for my patience.     I have been in the program for almost a year. My credit has completely tanked to the point I cannot apply for any time of anything. I am in dire need of a car and I cannot get one because of my credit is less than 400. When I started the program, I was in the 700s. I was not told of this. I am looking into cancelling my services and settling them on my own. They have only settled one account in almost a year when we were told most would be negotiated immediately and then paid out. I contacted my creditors and none have been contacted. I am not happy with the service and what I signed for.

    According to what I was told and I read online, the resolution process would take just a few months. Within the 7 months we've been a customer, we've had 1 of 4 accounts resolved and 1 of the 4 I removed from the program just to simply continue paying on it. The process was to help us rebuild our credit starting immediately but we our scores are dropping further and further because of the lack of resolution. The communication has been at a ZERO unless I've initiated the conversation. Getting us signed up and money being withdrawn was quick, easy and gave us a lot of hope.     I am happy with the program so far; but the only thing that I am VERY concerned about is the way that the money saved amt is calculated that goes to the IRS as income that I have to pay taxes on.     I had the worst experience with Freedom Debt Relief. My account has been paid in full since Nov and I asked them to close it. They keep taking money out of my checking account and keep telling me that closing the account takes time. They didn't even settle all of my debt. The debt collectors just wrote it off and I had to pay Freedom to do nothing. I call every week and they say that they will stop taking my money but they do it anyway. I would not recommend them to anyone and have filed complaints.

    Freedom debt relief promised to get rid of debt but after a year of taking $625 dollars a month $425 in non-refundable fees only settled one $1000 credit card for $700. $5000 in fees and still got sued by 3 creditors. Only one creditor said they had even spoken to FDR. Spoke to freedom and told them I received letters from 3 creditors to appear in court and they told me that they're not lawyers and could do nothing about lawsuits and offered me a loan for $45,000 dollars @ 22% to settle the debts. Told them to beat it and asked for refund of money. They told me I could only get money in escrow account about $2300 and said they would not refund fees because they settled one account and fees non-refundable. So bottom line is they lied and screwed me out of about $5000. Don't trust them, only cost $1000 to file bankruptcy and wiped out all debt about $60,000.

    My biggest complaint would be with the fact that I am paying a hefty fee for essentially ZERO work on Freedom Financials end. I do take full responsibility in not being overly thorough in the reading of the fees that I would end up paying but I felt I was misled and promised something that wasn't even remotely delivered. I have come to learn that my creditors are known to be hard to work with, yet I wasn't told this until I had accepted the loan. Individuals over the past three months have told me this multiple times, like it is common knowledge but NO ONE told me this during the first few months.

    Apparently it is known that Chase doesn't deal with 3rd party and that I would have to call myself. I was NOT told that and if I was then, I would have called them myself and not even dealt with paying you $8000 to do NOTHING. My 2nd creditor is apparently known to not settle for much less than 25% off. So in the end I am actually paying MORE than my original debt due to the fees for Freedom Financials "work". Again I will be accountable for knowing that the fees did exist but $7000 sounded doable with the thought of someone going to bat FOR me to lower my balanced owed. Now it just seems like I paid Freedom Financial to sit there.

    In short I would never recommend anyone to use this service. The customer service was only good when I called. All the promise of walking me through things and helping didn't happen. I called my own creditor and I don't have those skills. That's exactly what I thought I was paying this company to do. Basically paying $7000 for a loan on top of 23% interest with the added bonus of ruined credit. Thanks Freedom!

    I too have had a case filed against me for one of the CC debts I'm trying to resolve. Sometimes I feel like I'm spinning my wheels with this company.     I was recently served a court summons for one of my debt accounts under negotiation of which I have 10 days to respond to. Called Freedom, faxed over the info and the rep in collections says to call back in a few days and emails me a vague link about how to answer a summons.     For the most part my experience has been on the plus side. Although I'm a bit dismayed about my original contact person. It appeared that once she got me signed on, that I was no longer of importance. I would email her and at times wouldn't hear from her for a few days or not all.     I tried to close my account with FFR in mid December, not because I was fully dissatisfied with FFR but as I decided it would better suit me to file bankruptcy. I told FFR to make the last payment to Discover and stop payments to everyone/anyone else and inquired exactly how much money they needed from me to make the last Discover payment and I made that one time payment. I also wanted to stop all my future auto drafts. I filled out the form for both of these and told them to pay Discover as soon as it cleared and to call me when this was done.

    I didn't get a chance to follow up over the phone (as I'd knew I'd have to as they NEVER follow up with me) due to the holidays. When I did call them again in late January WHEN I GOT CHARGED MY AUTODRAFT that wasn't supposed to be charged because I cancelled them because it CLEARLY says in their system that I want to terminate with them, they hadn't been able to pay Discover because, gee, they paid a different creditor instead, contrary to what we agreed. I'm STILL working to get this resolved.

    Management has been "reviewing my case" since January and each subsequent time I call, I have to re-explain this, because management has yet to call me. I sat on the phone for 90 minutes today with a 4th customer service person, not able to speak to a manager because they were in a meeting, then waited on hold even longer so she could read back to me the notes she put in the system to make sure they were correct this time. I made it clear today, again, that the other creditor wasn't supposed to be paid and that Discover needs to be. God only knows what 'case' they're reviewing because today's random lottery of customer assistant said, 'if you want us to get money back from the creditor that you didn't want paid, we have to do x, y and z, would you like to do that?' WHAT 'CASE' HAVE YOU BEEN REVIEWING FOR THE LAST MONTH THEN????

    Since it was their mistake, which of course they won't admit to as the first person didn't put the notes in the system correctly, or most of the subsequent people for that matter, I would think that they would take the fault, fix the problem to make a happy customer and prevent a bad review, but no, they've been sitting on their butts for a month, 'reviewing my case' (which has been submitted twice), and continuing to not communicate with me.

    CLEARLY, if I cancel my auto draft and make a one time payment which was JUST ENOUGH to pay Discover and there's a note in the system that that payment was supposed to go to Discover, wouldn't you agree that it's YOUR fault that Discover should have been paid, and YOU made a mistake and you should pay them that money out of your company's pocket and hope that YOU get back the payment you weren't supposed to make to the other creditor? Stop using my money for your mistakes and get off your behinds and actually do something to fix this issue.

    I can't terminate with them until this is resolved, and did I mention that while they sit on their butts reviewing my case I have to make a 20 minutes phone call to them every month to get a form to keep filling out to stop each month's auto draft AND I KEEP GETTING CHARGED A MONTHLY FEE that they can't stop because it's who they bank with that charges it. Well maybe they should pay it since they're the ones taking their sweet time.

    When I first got into this program they told me I would not have to worry about anything and my debt would be paid off within four years. Not even one year has gone by and I have American Express and discover suing me. When I called their advance collection department, all they could tell me was, "Well we can't can't give you legal advice, but can refer you to an attorney at a reasonable cost." After I'm done paying them, there is no money left to pay an attorney. Of my six credit cards they are paying off one. I pay them 805 dollars a month, less than 650 goes to the creditor and they pay themselves right away with the rest.

    According to my calculations I will end up paying around the same amount I would have paid the credit card company without going through them. I could have negotiated with the credit card company myself and got a better deal without wrecking my good credit and going through the humiliation and agony of two lawsuits. Now with all the court fees and penalties I am more in debt than I was when I started this program. This has been a nightmare.

    I have been a client for 8 months. I wasn't given a welcome packet via mail or email ever. I finally got it from online and one day I was worried about my one account that was to be handled. Now, mind you I don't know when creditors are lying but I was following the rules to the best of my ability and I was scared because a creditor told me in no way shape or form would they work with a 3rd party.

    On day one Laurie the obviously unhappy call center worker said to me, "Sir if you just want to terminate your service, then tell me." So I did some thinking and called back a little later and talked to Inka who was quite pleasant and efficient and who told me that I could call a creditor who was already settled and make the final payment. She even gave me the number and then I'd just have to call back after terminate my service and I would receive my entire bank balance returned to me.

    So I do as she said and I call back to terminate my service and ** says, "Oh we need proof before we terminate your account." She says she cannot until there is proof of payment so I expressed my frustrations also understanding she is a supervisor. So next day I have my printout of proof and I talk to Jack who was also pleasant and very persistent to get me to stay. So Jack says "we already made the payment on the 2nd of January" when Inka said it would be made the 30th of January and Jack also says the company does not need proof of payment to the creditor and what ** said was just a tactic to get me to stay. He said "That's not completely fabricated." And I apologize if you think I'm unfair but I thought the creditors were the liars not FDR.

    I am a bankruptcy attorney. A client of mine signed up for Freedom Debt Relief a year ago and made 4 payments totaling $2670. He probably should have just filed bankruptcy in the first place, and figured that out & called me after making these payments. His paperwork that he received clearly indicates he is entitled to a refund of the money he paid. He demanded a refund and accounting, and never heard back. I have written them two letters and did not hear back. Today I am sending my final demand letter, and will likely need to sue them to recover the money, although their agreement indicates I would need to do so in Arizona even though my client and I are in Minnesota.
