So far I have paid two of my debts and I am very pleased with their services. It's a slow process with what I am able to pay each month, but I'm sure that if I could afford to put more money into it, I would have my debts paid off earlier. I am not happy with this program. I am paying over 700.00 a month to pay off my credit cards and I don't think they are getting paid off soon enough. I keep getting information where I owe and the interest keeps getting added on. Wish they paid so much on the bills a month so they all get paid. And not happy with paying so much a month and they are adding it to my wages. I am trying to work to pay this and then I get more added on. My taxes doubled because of this. I did not receive any money so why do I have to pay taxes on it.

This is a great recovery program. Very simple to start. The firm takes your worry away. I cannot believe how fast several of my accounts were settled. I am satisfied with the way things are being handled by you and your team. Does so much go to the creditors each month from the funds I pay you? I would like to know what it means a settlement has been made, does it mean that a debtor was paid off completely or does it mean you have come to an agreement with the debtor to cut or stop the APR and a monthly is still paid to them or it is completed totally with no more payments having to go to them? I wish more could be done to resolve the number of telephone calls I have received from one creditor in particular. This company stated they do not settle with Debt Relief Companies, yet they were on list of prior settlements.

My wife and I began working with FDR in 2012 with approximately $25,000 in credit card debt. We were initially pleased with their customer service in signing up though they were a bit evasive when asked how they get paid. The welcome packet was also not too informative in that regard. They negotiated our first settlement fairly quickly and over the next several years we were steadily working down our debt.
Our financial situation had improved by 2016 and in September we told them that we wanted them to settle our last two debts. They told us an amount that we would need to satisfy the remaining debts and we provided them with it. After a few days there was still one debt remaining and they now told us we needed to come up with more money to cover FDR's fee. When you see your settlement payment, it will say ie. 6 payments of $115 - what you didn't know is that you are actually paying quite a bit more than that though it is never visible on your client dashboard. They get about 21% of your balance as their fee (sounds like a credit card interest rate hmmm?).
We gave them the amount they asked for and we were due back money from our account. This money took quite some time and phone calls to finally hit our bank account. We submitted our final payment on 9/6/16 - I am writing this on 2/23/17 and: 1) We have not received our close out packet. 2) A company went into collections against me on 9/29/16 and is still damaging my credit report despite FDR saying the debt was settled. 3) After more than half a dozen phone calls with FDR, each representative says "We are going to escalate your file in our computer" in order to get some answers - "This may take up to 2 weeks..." We have had the same luck emailing with them as well. We have an email from a particular rep that said she would get back to us within 2 days (this was 4 months ago!).
4) We noticed today that they began auto billing our account again after no charges have been taken for the last 4 months. All of a sudden they decide to make 2 WITHDRAWALS FROM OUR ACCOUNT FOR $175 EACH WITHOUT ANY NOTIFICATION OR OUR CONSENT. We spoke with them today and again, "We are escalating your file in our computer and this may take up to 2 weeks" blah blah blah. They stated that they would reimburse our account tomorrow (I'm not holding my breath). 5) After stating that we would be reimbursed, they send us an email showing a payment schedule set up through 2018 for $175 twice per month! They show the next 3 months as canceled per our request but then the payments resume again! BEAR IN MIND, WE HAVE BEEN DEBT FREE AND CLOSED OUT SINCE 9/6/16!!
I could write all night about the minor details of our frustration but I will spare you. Just know this: ATTENTION FDR - We are now escalating YOUR file with a call to our state attorney general and will continue to savage your reputation in every possible way on social media and to consumer reporting agencies until this is resolved once and for all and this collections case against me is dropped. It was a pleasure doing business with you - NOT!

It's hard to fully say how happy I am with this service at this point. I was advised to stop making payments to all but one creditor, and my credit has dropped almost 100 points in the last month and a half. Updated on 10/19/2019: Was a challenge, scary and relief all in one. I stuck with the program and paid off all my credit cards. Learned to live on a budget under this program making bills get paid first then work on entertainment. Now that I am debt free that means I go back the old way, if you do not have the money I guess I do not need it that bad. Going to be cash only. Thank you FDR....

I have been with Freedom for about 7 months now and I had some really bad problems. Since I have been with them, they have been able to make settlements with 4 of my creditor accounts, and they continue to keep me updated on what is going on. Freedom Debt Relief has been wonderful for my husband and I. The process is simple. They have already settled two of our creditors and we just had to ok the settlement. We are always able to check their progress online. The only problem we've had is FDR's response to questions we've had online. They always answer our questions, but it takes longer to get an answer than they say. We are happy with the results and would recommend them.

They are very nice and calming. It can get pretty hard to hear the phone several times a day. When I do talk with a creditor it can be rough. Then I talk with one of your people and it is very calming and gets my thoughts back straight again. I didn't want to ever be in this place but you are helping me through it. Now starting to get phone calls that it is out of their hands and per your instructions will continue to tell them to contact your people should I take any calls. I feel better that they are getting something and I didn't have to file bankruptcy. Hopefully this way I can get my credit back in line much sooner. Also hope that I only have to use your service this one time, but would recommend you to a friend should they ever tell me they are in the same place I was.
I have gotten ads from a couple of other services that do the same as you but I liked that you were the one that came through on Credit Karma and have a good rating with the BBB. Will be very happy when the last creditor is done and I have paid off the service fee to you. Through you I have already started the first day of the rest of my life.

I had hoped for more timely communication with creditors. Daily I receive up to 20 phone calls which I have been advised not to answer. I receive as many as five pieces of mail per week. I receive as many as six emails per week demanding payment. Even though I understand the process, my nerves cannot hold up under the stress of all that.

Also, if you sign up for legal assistance, please make sure that someone calls you and walks you through this process. We were under the impression that Freedom Debt Relief would be helping us with our debt, negotiating on our behalf, and that we would be debt free within 3 years. Instead, debt collectors continue to contact us, even sue us, the lawyers did nothing but settle with the proposed amount we owed (this only ADDED debt on top of it), and we are now UNDER WATER for much longer than anticipated. I wish we had kept working our way through the debt ourselves. It was quite insulting to receive a congratulations letter about the settled lawsuit, when it only benefits FDR. We are more discouraged than when we started.

When we went over our contract, someone from FDR went through the highlights with us. However, while we were reviewing the contract and signing it electronically, they failed to mention that if and when they settled our debt, we would be responsible for paying taxes on the amount we saved. In addition, they failed to mention that there are settlement fees. We understood all fees were included in our monthly payment but they charge a percentage of the amount they save you. Very unhappy and would not recommend this service to anyone. In addition, if you have questions or complaints they do not answer emails or calls.

All in all I am happy with the choice I made. However, my payment history WAS 100% and to stop paying bills was the hardest thing to get used to. One other point I'd like make. The TAX issue was never addressed. New clients need to know that in some cases the difference in the amount owed and the amount of the settlement COULD be counted as income and could affect their tax liability.

I am happy so far. I have had one incident, but with the information I was given when I first started with Freedom regarding NLLG, I'm glad I listened. I received a summons from one of my creditors and they want to take me to court. By having NLLG, they are representing me and is taking care of the situation so I don't have to go to court. I don't worry about those phone calls from banks. I feel confident that I will be completely out of debt in three years. At first I didn't know how I would come up with the money to make the monthly payment toward my debt relief, but I just wrote daily "I will have enough money to make this payment", and lo and behold I had enough to live and make the payment. They have an extremely slow process. They supposedly negotiate with creditors. What they actually do is wait until the creditors have no other choice. This takes several months. Their fees are ridiculous (around 23% of the balance including the added fees and late charges). This makes the debt reduction around 30%, which is NOT what they push when trying to get you into their program. My credit has dropped from 680 to mid-400 in just 2 months and creditor calls never stop.

One of my accounts was settled for the full amount with a very difficult creditor, Springleaf Financial. NO reduction in debt was negotiated. Subsequently, "failed payments" to Springleaf resulted in underpayment and nullification of the settlement, after all but $85 had been repaid. Freedom Financial and Crossroads also failed to return all of the failed payments to my account and charged a $10 check fee for each payment failed and resubmitted. Not only was I charged a 20% settlement fee for an account not settled for a reduction, I was charged $10 to $20 in "check fees" for each monthly payment.
In spite of ledger evidence supporting their mishandling of this account, they refuse to communicate with me, instead blaming me for "insufficient funds" to cover the payments in question (not true). For over a year now, my calls and emails have been ignored, and they refuse to investigate, take action, or communicate with me concerning this. The amount not paid is now in the hands of a collection agency and on my credit report. There are better ways to resolve credit card debt. DO NOT go with Freedom Financial!

I should not have even started with them. There is little to no communication when you choose to go the FDR route. If you have a question, you better not expect an answer. I'm grateful for the opportunity to not have to file for bankruptcy, but at this point, I'm regretting my decision or I should have chosen another service. On many occasions, I've called to ask questions, yet never receive a response. The website shows that you are paying money in, however, it does not show total paid in.
In October, my bank account was debited $260.00 THREE TIMES. It caused my bank account to go overdrawn, which started an avalanche of other insufficient funds issues with other creditors. I have called 3 times requesting a refund for the insufficient funds fees of $50, but 4 months later, I have yet to be reimbursed. The first time I called, nobody even took notes, so I called again. I was supposed to see something within 2 weeks, but saw nothing. I called back in December, they promised the same thing. To this date, I'm still recovering from the overdraft charges and have yet to be reimbursed, but yet, I stay faithful to this program. Bite the bullet and file bankruptcy, it's cheaper and at least your attorney will respond to you...

I had lost my job and was already living paycheck to paycheck so being out of work and now working for much less I was feeling hopeless. I saw an ad on Facebook and I called. I owed major credit cards companies for loans over 40k. The loans I applied wasn't for me but for someone whom I haven't met. It was online dating sites. This system is looking good at Freedom Debt Relief. It was a little slower in starting than I was told originally, but some of that may be hard to avoid. On my way now with first pay off deal with a large debtor. Nice arrangement FDR did with them! This is a good way to go for large old credit card debt! Would recommend this to others!

We signed up with Freedom Debt Relief July 2016 - our representative Richard was very optimistic & more less a great salesman. We have settled 2 cards so far and after the hearty fees to FDR we didn't really save much, then Discover actually had us in collections so our savings was $600 but the FDR fees were $600 so no savings. Our credit scores have PLUMMETED and keep going down. We have A LOT of debt in the program and therefore our monthly payment into our account is hard to do every month.
THEN I was nervous of the 1099-c, I called Richard regarding my concerns. He told me to go ahead and file our taxes, that 1099-c is RARE and nothing to worry about... I filed our taxes and today went to the mailbox to find a 1099-c for $2000+ that we have to now amend our return and count as "income" - I called Richard and was told not to worry and he would help me with the 982 form (he never called back). I'm really nervous at this point, are we really going to be ok if we continue with this program or should we just go for bankruptcy?

I have been with Freedom Debt Relief for almost a year. If you have always had good credit, the decision to do this is very difficult initially. But I don't regret going with them at all; in fact, it actually has been a relief. They went over the entire process and any issues I may have extensively at the beginning so I would know what to expect. I took all of their advice, thank God, and did exactly what I was supposed to. They have always been available to answer all of my questions. The client dashboard in my client account gives me all of my banking and payment information. The information they send you throughout the process to help you avoid getting into debt again has been very helpful. They have settled two accounts and have negotiated with two others, and fact that my stress level is well in check is worth every cent of their commission. In three years I will be debt-free, which would not have been possible without them.
I would recommend to anyone that if you can stomach the bad credit for a time, which again was very difficult for me at first, and can be completely committed to the program, it is worth doing to get that much needed fresh start. My bad luck may have caused me this problem, but it is nice to get that second chance, and that is what I got here. Keep up the good work, Freedom Debt Relief.

Debt relief. They have been a great service so far. I have continued to have calls from debt collectors. Hope soon for that to quit. The customer service has been done very well. I would like more follow-up on my accounts to see exactly where I stand.

Handling of Discover account. I received a letter from Discover offering a settlement by 10/8/16 which I forwarded to FDR. After no response or acknowledgment of receiving it I called and spoke to someone and they told me it was in my file and it sounded doable. I told them that Discover had filed a lawsuit and that I had spoke to the FDR atty. and they said that was fine. In the end it was settled between attys. The offer apparently never tried and I end up having to pay Discover more than $2000 over what my balance was when I entered.

Although I have only been enrolled in the Freedom Debt Relief program for about 6 months, from the start to present day it has been a refreshing experience. Still receiving calls and letters from creditors 4 months later. Other than that everything is great. Experience with the company as far as taking care of problems has so far been resolved. Our debt is due to be paid off in four years. We are hoping for quicker settlement times.

I'm not really satisfied with the fact that most all of my debt will be turned to collectors and possibly sued, and in doing so my credit rating is getting abused in the meantime. I'm in a debt repayment class right now, learning about budgeting and reducing my debt on my own, using a progressive ascending technique. I guess what I need to know is are you aggressively pursuing these debtors or are you waiting to contact them after a certain time period. I would like to know.
