I have been putting off calling just because I had no idea how it worked. Greg ** put me at ease as soon as we starting talking about my bills. My experience with FDR so far has been very positive. I have 3 out of 4 settlements with creditors within 6 months! The debt totaled $50K and settled to $30K. The customer services are very helpful and prompt response to any questions. I highly recommended.

We have been sending e-mails to Taylor ** and Robert at Debt Relief and no updates on what is going on. We sent information to both about JC Penney's want to settle and with a very attractive offer and I sent it to them and no answer. I am very concerned, we are trying to resolve our situation and lack of communication is not there. Did we go to the wrong company? Creditors are getting more aggressive and we don't know if the Freedom Debt Relief has contacted them. Not Happy!!! We need help!

My wife & I started in August 2016 with $40k of debt. We were paying our bills but was looking for a way to consolidate our multiple lines of credit and reduce our monthly credit card bill to free up our budget. One of the places we were talking to introduced us to Freedom. They explained the plan - all of which I was happy with. The monthly payment I was to pay was about 30% lower than what we were currently paying. We had consolidated our multiple lines of credit into 1 monthly payment. I was happy with that. I was told that the plan would take us about 4 years to complete. I was happy with that.
Apart from the obvious, creditor calls & my tanking credit score everything was going as planned. Then I was sued. I found out after the fact that Discover had no reservations to sue you. This screwed everything up. I must say that NLLG was easy to work with but what I wasn't told up front was if you get sued the settlement % is higher. Discover was the one card that I owed the most on and it was settled for 80.25%. After Freedom added their 21% fee onto the settlement I owed 101.25% of the loan. The settlement was split into payments that would last 18 months. I wasn't happy.
However soon after this (this is 6 months into the program) I received an offer from Consolidation Plus (Freedom's sister company) to consolidate the rest of my loans. Basically they settle the rest of your debts and they consolidate the sum of the settlements plus your fee into 1 payment. I was thrilled about the offer but the offer was awful. Basically it was putting me back to where I was at the start but paying more. Payments were going to be bi-monthly and each payment was going to be close to the one current monthly payment I was making. Fortunately I had another line of money open up and I was able to get out of the bad situation. In summary - the plan probably works for some but didn't end so well for me. Customer Service is great - their web portal was great - but the overall service didn't end up as advertised.

Not happy that every creditor has not been contacted. Would like them all to be contacted and then let them know where we are in the process. Still getting creditor calls, I would like these to stop. Would like to feel more secure with the process.

My husband and I were hanging on by a thread. I have seen my credit score increase steadily since being on Freedom's program. It does take time, but I know that the bills will be paid off way before I would ever get them paid off. I would recommend Freedom Debt Relief to a friend or family member because of the great service and support they provide during the process of becoming debt free or in a better situation. I have done a consolidated loan before years ago and they are no longer allowed to operate in California. One of my creditors recommended me to call Freedom Debt. I had a hard time deciding to trust my debt to FDR, primarily because of the disturbing idea of consciously defaulting on my credit card payments. The first six months were difficult to weather, with creditors calling all the time and no settled debts. Then, on the seventh month, I received a text message from FDR asking me to approve a settlement. A week later the second settlement came in. Altogether FDR has saved me over $14,000 dollars and I should be out of debt in two years. I definitely recommend FDR as an effective way to eliminate debt.

Very poor follow-up and response to my concerns and emails. You recommended CONSOLIDATE Plus to me to help me out to get a loan, to facilitate and speed up negotiation and pay off the debt sooner while actually they tried to screw me big time and help themselves and you. Being charged $10 for every check payment you make. In summary, I wonder how much will I be saving when this whole thing is over with??!!

I got myself in a bad situation with credit cards and loans due to several medical issues. When I signed up I was told I could mail in a check. I wanted to mail in a large check and called to find out how and the customer service rep told me it was impossible. There was no way to send in a check. Also, that same rep was looking at my account. If they were sharp and on the ball, would have told me that my account was at zero and that I had a payment due in a week or two. I was never told or totally forgot that you take thousands of dollars in commissions first before making my payments and I did not know I was at zero. If I had known I could have made a deposit of the $200!

Overall I am satisfied. I am not happy with the length of time it takes to negotiate and the continued downslide of my credit. However, I was told about this when I enrolled. My payment is a little higher than I'm comfortable with and I am still unsure if this will all work in my favor. I did receive a folder with instructions. There is also more than one company name being used here. Most processes are explained upon request.

Started with FDR 8 months ago. I was in a situation where I needed help financially. I turned to FDR and I am glad I did. From day one the customer service reps are very informative. If there is a concern they can't handle you can ask to speak to a supervisor and are referred immediately without any further questioning like other companies. The first contact the representative was very thorough and made me feel at ease. They have worked with me every time I had a question. The dashboard is a good tool where you can follow your progress. FDR gives you updates via emails and explains your progress. They are with you all the time which is comfortable feeling. This professional company makes you feel important during your time of need and throughout the whole process.
I am grateful I called and choose FDR to represent me with my financial needs. If you don't believe me call me. I will let you know the confidence and relief they gave me during negotiations process. Again this negotiations take a while not because of FDR. It's due to the credit companies but FDR is there the whole time and you can call and get your peace of mind. I would recommend the other services they provide for additional protection and support. I didn't use them but I knew they had my back if the creditors had additional concerns. Thank you FDR. Can't wait til I am debt free through your program and make life more enjoyable for me. You didn't mislead me anytime during this process. And gave me more finances to enjoy doing things I couldn't do before.

One thing I would recommend that your Certified Debt Consultants do is make it absolutely clear that you will be taking a percentage for each of the settlements negotiated. I was told you would be taking a percentage, but it was not clear it would be each settlement resolved, and before anything was paid to the creditor.

My experience is not a good experience at all. What I do not like about the process is that Freedom Debt Relief paid a lot of money for the work that you are doing. I do understand you have to get paid, but why not get paid in installments like you are paying off our creditors. Reason being, you can only negotiate one creditor at a time. So in the meantime the other creditors are waiting to get information about payments and this means that we are also getting calls from the creditors saying they have not received a call nor have they received any information regarding Freedom working on my behalf. Freedom is getting paid a lot of money to negotiate on my behalf and I'm still getting calls and emails from creditors. I am very dissatisfied with that process.

You paid off my largest debt first, letting two much smaller debts go in to the courts, now I have two judgements against me. And no one ever calls me regarding my complaint... I WOULD NEVER recommend this to anyone. The amount of money you charged me to make arrangements on that large account could have also cleared up at least one of my much smaller debts as well. Not happy at all. My life is filled with stress wondering when the two judgements will become a wage attachment...

My husband & I have been married 14 years, and started out without realizing how bad credit card debt can be. So we have had 3 children now, and when the first one came everything was so tight we would charge groceries or gas to make it through. The second child came and things were the same way. Now the third baby has just arrived. Things are so hard! Before the baby came I thought we really need to get out of this debt. I had what felt like a million credit cards to keep up with and my husband for the last 5 years has had a lot of medical issues and we have mounting debt that way too. I called Freedom Debt Relief and they were able to help us have 1 payment and are helping us get the interest reduced that we would be paying.
Once the baby came things got even harder, because now we are paying for insurance on 3 children and it is coming out of our paycheck which we were not used to. We usually would take our tax refund to pay for my kids' insurance for the year. However, we are adjusting to the new arrangement, but it makes us feel like we have stepped back in time 10 years. It really hurt our bring home amount each payday. I called Freedom Debt Relief once again, and they were more than happy to help me get the payment in lowered so that I can breathe and buy the needed groceries and such for my family.
I was so worried, but they were very kind and understanding and took care of things right away. I am thankful that when things look so bleak someone is caring and understanding and able to help you. We certainly had credit card debt which was our own fault. However, medical bills and the last baby was a total surprise. Sometimes life just deals you tough cards and sweet blessings mixed in, but it can put a hurting on your wallet. Thank you Freedom Debt Relief for being there for my family!

Response time to client requests are not timely and often require multiple interactions to be accomplished. At the time I signed up for the program the fee for resolving the debt was not disclosed in the initial conversation. It was stated the fee is included, what was not stated outright is that you pay FDR 25% of the original debt so in actuality you pay 75% of the debt; 25 % to FDR and 50% to the credit. You will probably better off settling with your creditor on your own.

I thought the process in settling with creditors would go much faster. I still get daily calls from them. I am generally happy but I wish things would go faster. I will still complete the program. I will say that the tools and resources, especially the client website, is very easy to use.

I will say I was nervous but as soon as I handed over my accounts I felt a huge relief off my shoulders! Especially after I changed the phone numbers and addresses on my accts to Freedom's. Then the waiting till your first settlement does take a while as they are waiting for your funds to build, and you will get nervous again but then that first settlement and you just get excited that things are moving in the right direction. I would recommend Freedom Debt Relief to anyone needing assistance! Don't sit and worry there's nowhere to turn - freedom takes all that away! And don't hesitate to call them at any time. I had debated on doing this for several years. I started the process two times prior to actually doing it today because it is a lot of stuff to process and it was a little scary when they talked about the process lowering your credit score. But as one of the counselors told me "For this debt program you really have to hate your debt, more than you love your credit. You can rebuild your credit, it's much easier with no unsecured debt." So after about 11 months. I finally took the plunge because my debt was in the process of lowering my score anyway.
I will be honest I am still a little scared but I'm willing to go through the process because at the moment to think in less than 3 years I could be debt free with the exception of my house. And if I had the guts to do it the first time I would already be out of debt. I am excited to get this started and to see my debt dwindle. I researched this company and the Better Business Bureau gave it a great rating. All the counselors were very helpful in getting this started and walked me through everything on the computer. This made me more at ease.

I was not informed that my credit had to be totally trashed before I got any assistance. I was lead to believe you would contact the debtors you proposed to represent me with and you have not contacted them. Several have contacted me about legal action. This is unacceptable as I was in good standing until you offered to help.

I am compelled to write this review to hopefully save someone from the same hell I am currently going through. When I first called FDR I had exhausted all options (loans, consolidation) other than bankruptcy and was desperate not to go that route. After speaking to a few reps (I didn't sign up on the first call) and reviewing my debt vs monthly max I could pay, I was assured that my monthly payment of $534 was more than sufficient for them to contact my creditors and begin working out settlements. I was assured I would be debt free within 3-4 years, depending on the settlement amounts. I inquired about a loan and was told they do not offer that service as most people default. They reached out to my smallest balance and settled w/in a few months. Just as others who've written reviews have said, I could finally sleep at night! I believed I was being taken care of by a company that truly had my best interest at heart. Then I was served by a creditor.
I immediately called FDR, and thankfully I had taken the attorney coverage ($12 per month fee) so I was put in touch with National Litigation Law Group. My attorney was great, reached a fair settlement with no lump sum payment upfront needed. This left me with about $2500 in my FDR account to start settling with the 2 remaining creditors. Again, a good night's sleep!
A few weeks later I checked my account to see if they had reached out to the remaining creditors and saw I had a zero balance! I called FDR frantic as I didn't see where the money went. It was only then I learned there is a separate website (CFTPAY.com) where I could see all transactions from my account. FDR had paid themselves over $2300. I was told this was their settlement fee. Naturally, I was very upset about this as I was verbally told FDR took all their fees at the end. What they did not specify was they mean the end of settlement negotiations. Not only did they take $2300 but they are paying themselves an additional $67 per month until this settlement is paid off. So my monthly deposit minus the settlement minus the attorney coverage minus the settlement fee minus the bank fee leaves me with a zero balance each month.
I contacted FDR this morning to ask a simple question - If I am paying insurance for legal coverage, if the creditor served me prior to FDR reaching out to them in any way or doing any work on my behalf, if the attorney reached the settlement, what am I paying FDR for? What work have they done to justify wiping out my account?
After being left on hold for 22 minutes, calling back and holding another 10, I finally got someone on the phone who simply repeated the same thing - NLLG works with them and even though the attorney did the work and my insurance paid them they work together so FDR gets their fee regardless. I am now in a position where my monthly deposit will cover ONLY one settlement and FDR's fees. I will not start building up excess funds in my account until APRIL 30, 2019!!! When I realized the position they had put me in and asked what could be done I was told to deposit more money each month. They will not refund their lump sum payment to themselves and prorate it out each month. They will not reach out to the remaining creditor as there is no money to negotiate with for another TWO YEARS!!
Be aware of how this program really works!!! You are agreeing to pay FDR a percentage (I believe it varies by state) of the ORIGINAL balance due, NOT the negotiated amount. They take their fees up front. They are not proactive - you will be sued. They do not communicate with you - it is on you to follow up and push for negotiations. There is a monthly fee for NLLG (mine is $12). There is a monthly bank fee (mine is 7.25). There is a check payment fee ($10 - not sure if charged on all payments).
They seem very proud of themselves, stating they have saved me 10K on one account. After all their fees and the extras you pay each month, they have not saved me half that. I put my faith in this company believing this was better option than bankruptcy, have watched my credit fall over 300 points and will have creditors breathing down my neck for the next TWO YEARS without FDR doing anything to help me. This company does not care about you. They are not here to help you. They are out to take as much money from you as possible.
Oh, and to add insult to injury, a few months ago I received a call from FDR saying due to my great history of paying on time each month they wanted to offer me a loan (thought they didn't do that!) at over 20% interest to "help" me pay off my debt faster. Thanks FDR. A good friend filed bankruptcy a little over a year ago. Their credit score is 200 points higher than mine and she has begun rebuilding her credit already. Please read everything, question everything, consult with an attorney before signing yourself over to this company.

I needed assistance with my overwhelming debt. I called F.D.R. and spoke with Griffin ** to see if I qualified for this program. Griffin asked me to provide him with my debt issues. After he reviewed my paperwork, he presented it for "review" to a committee and I was approved. Griffin took his time with me, answering all of my questions and provided me with very clear and detailed information on each step I would have to take, reassuring me the entire time that he and the FDR Team would be there for the duration of this process. I had one advisor, then another, then another; then another company. Was never told what was coming next. Was sued even though I was told I wouldn't be. Almost lost my job because of it and that wasn't supposed to happen either. Now making payments over and above what I owed to CC companies and don't know why. Very confusing.
