Always on top of getting the best results for their customers!! There is no hidden fees or extra phone calls. Texts to confirm settlements is a big plus! Not having to make a phone call or answer phone calls from collectors helps keep everything in check and less stressful.

Tyler was clear and spoke at a understanding pace. He would take breaks so all information could be absorbed. He allowed me to ask questions and he did not act irritated when asked to repeat. He had very nice manners. He made me feel hopeful. Some people work hard in their life and then suddenly something goes wrong. Never do they intend to end up in financial trouble. Tyler understood that with me. I don't want to not pay my debt. I just need help so I can.

I was incredibly stressed (due to unforeseen medical issues), nervous (can they really help me?) and concerned (how will this affect my credit) when I was filling out information on their website. Collection calls. Also they keep saying they have not received the authorization for you to speak on my behalf. None have been said. None have been notified. Not happy. Please send the necessary documents to all my creditors. They call me at work. I have sent emails letters with proper wording that was given to me.

Initially was pleased with the program, however once you're in and trying to get issues resolved, customer service is hideous and almost non existent. All my accounts have been resolved as of mid 2016. I had one account remaining of which I have a 1099-C for and of which I have been trying to give them since mid 2016. As of late May 2017, they've come up with every conceivable excuse to "NOT Graduate" my plan and return $5,600.00 which I have had banked with them since mid 2016. They are sitting on my money and collecting interest for them instead of graduating the account. I have spoken with Neal, Sonja, Jamie and Christian and countless other customer service representatives and continually get the run around. I will attach an image of my progress so that you can see I am telling the truth.
I've emailed no less than 10 copies of my 1099-C DAILY to them and they still refuse to accept that I sent it. Until this week, they finally got back to me and said that the copy of the 1099-C I emailed was not in a format they could save and to resend in a different format. It was a .jpg file. So I have sent it in .pdf format and again no reply. RUN before thinking of using them. I never missed one payment to them and they were ALL on the due date. It's sad I have had to resort to leaving bad reviews but I hope you do not experience what I have.

We were struggling with our finances because my husband got hurt at work and had back surgery. He is still having problems with his back. You can't get ahold of people you have talked to. Everyone has a different answer. I would get told you guys to work on my stuff then said you can't then you can again and it was back and forth for a month before I lost it and just had you guys remove some things. I would get told someone will call me back that can help me then they would never call. When I would call to ask about it they had no notes about it. So then it turned into a wild goose chase again and I would get told, “No. He/She was wrong. I will talk to their manager.” I just hope it all works out like they said it would or the BBB is going to get involved.

Before using FDR or any debt relief company be sure you have no other options available (include bankruptcy) before getting involved. Be guided by some of the problems I have had. When they tell you what your monthly deposit is going to be, be sure it is an amount you can easily live with. Even ask what a lower amount may mean to your account.
The problem for me now is that I have had my hours at work temporarily reduced. I can make my monthly deposit but that is about all I have. I will have about $50 to get me to my next payday in two weeks. With that I have to pay my other bill, buy food and gas so I can get to work, it ain't going to happen. I called to see if I could, for one month, pay less but there is no flexibility with them on that. Always willing to take more but not less. Even if I wanted to get a short term loan I can't because they have mess up my credit because, in my opinion, they have mishandled my accounts (more on that later).
If you do use FDR and you have a troubling account make sure with keep on top of them to handle that account first. After joining the program and not paying any of my creditors as instructed I was contacted by one of them saying I need to contact that creditor about settling or they would follow up with legal action against me. I advised FDR of that and for a while that creditor was at the top of list to be settled first. My first notice of a settlement came in but it was not for that creditor, then another notice for a different creditor, then another for a different one. Finally I received a summons from the creditor that court action had been taken to FDR credit. Once I told them about it, they negotiated a settlement quickly even though that should have been the first one they did.
The problem is now I have this public record of collection on my credit report against me. I have not tried to get any type of loan since then but one of FDR sister companies contacted me about getting a consolidation loan and turned me down. One the reasons given was because of that public record. Now if one of their sister companies are not willing to overlook that what chance do I have with another lender. Don't be a meek lamb like I was and be led around clueless like I was. Take an active part in the program and keep in touch and make sure your wishes on how things handle are clear to them.

I have been in the program since October, and it is now May and only one card has been negotiated. My creditors are telling me that no one has reached out to them and I've been turned over to collections which concerns me although I've been assured that all creditors have been contacted. I've consolidated in the past and all creditors were contacted and settled far quicker than this. This is my biggest concern. However, the one card that was negotiated was cut in half, which is great. I would prefer the negotiation period was more accelerated and settled in a more timely manner.

I have had less calls from my bill collectors payments being made to my accounts, so I would recommend Freedom Debt Relief. I wish I could send larger payments, but being on a fixed income it is impossible at the present time. I lost my husband 1 year ago and it has been hard for me financially.

I found myself struggling to pay off my creditors on my own. I was laid off from a good paying job and have yet to find anything since making the money I needed to keep up my payments. I reached out to Freedom Debt Relief for help. They were very professional and answered all my questions. I have been enrolled with them for about 7 months. They have already helped me reduce the amount I owe to 2 creditors. I already have one account settled and I am actively paying off my 2nd one. They have great customer service and advise when you call in and ask questions as well as an online site where you can check on your progress. They offer legal services through a third party vendor for those creditors that may wish to try and take you to court to get their money. They have taken a lot off my shoulders even though I still have to deal with some of it on my own. It is nowhere near as bad as when I was trying to do it all myself.

Freedom Debt Relief did help me by facilitating a settlement with one of the three credit card companies which are represented in my contract, but not until the creditor had initiated a lawsuit. I found there had been no correspondence between the Discover Card company and New Freedom until after I called them about the lawsuit. This cost me an extra $800 to retain the law firm which they use to represent cases where there is a lawsuit. I feel that the lawsuit was a result of their failure to correspond and inform the credit card company / the debtor for almost a year to communicate with them that I had entered their debt relief program.
After I retained legal representation, the lawsuit was dropped and the company settled, but in the meantime it cost me almost a thousand extra dollars which I could not afford. I am hopeful that the other two debts will be settled without going through the same complication and expense. If that happens I would raise my rating.

I was communicating with another debt settlement company and the gentleman I was consulting with was not professional and I could tell he was only concerned about the "sell" instead of helping me. I would ask a question and he was condescending and rude. Then a friend of mine recommended Freedom Debt Relief. I called them and began consulting with Michael. He was totally professional, went through all the details with me to make sure I understood the process, answered my questions, and showed he actually cared about my situation. I even waited a week to sign my contract from when he sent it to me, and he did not pressure me and say I had to sign it "now".
The reason I waited an extra few days was for an attorney I know to review the contract to make sure everything was on the up-and-up. I've never been in this situation before and didn't even know these companies existed so I wanted to make sure I didn't sign my life away and make my debt situation even worse. The attorney said the contract was valid and it followed all applicable federal laws. Participating in this program has been one of the worst decisions I have ever made. I am not sure if it is Freedom or the person from the lending group who talked me into this but the misinformation given to me is on the verge of leaving my kids and I homeless. When being told about this program and making the decision to do it. I made it really clear I would be needing to move in about 4 months and I needed to look at getting help to send a Child to college soon. I contacted the personal lending after getting a thing saying I was pre-approved for a loan. Then magically I wasnt. I am just about at the 5-month mark of the Freedom program. I was told it would take about 3 months for everything to be negotiated and my credit would be lots better.
So far I have had one account negotiated but I am still receiving monthly bills. Have ask the person at the lending group repeatedly if this is what should happen and received no answer. Found the perfect place to move. Decided to check my credit score low 400. I again let my contact person know my seriousness of my situation. For the last 6 weeks I have been told repeatedly, "Your file just about complete". I even begged to just be honest and tell me how long till things started improving. My contact person is now not responding very often to my question if at all. It has gone from, "I will be your contact person" to just "Call freedom directly".
I have had a vehicle break down as well. When you have a credit rating this low. You cannot rent a place to live. You. Cannot get any kind of help if you have a crisis. You cannot get a second job to feed your children because employers now check your score as well. You definitely are looking at breaking your kid's dreams of college cause you can't help with that if you can't even afford rent. So the idea of the program sound great and I sit on pins and needles every day that something will change and things will get better. But if you have any major life events coming up don't believe them when they say 3 months.
You will also be called up to 12 times or more a day from bill collectors everyday even when your contact person says they will take care of it. They will call your work as well and they work evenings and weekends. I am really hoping that will stop some day too. I would love to say how great this is but so far all I'm feeling is like I just made one of the worst decisions of my life.

Your offer to become my debt resolver was accepted through a signed contract. The contract was quite worrisome due to the inclusion of voluminous legal jingle jangle. Ultimately, I accepted that the copious legalese was necessary to protect both my own and FDR's interests. Freedom in this instance, really means freedom with this company. They handle most of the settlements with minimum assistance from me. Very good. Don't have to wait forever. Not bankruptcy. Lowering the actual cost of my debt. And not as expensive as another loan. When you sign up everyone is helpful and nice. But if you want to talk to them later, they don't answer it. Unavailable. If you don't understand their app. Forget it.

After 6 months of good payments given good option to see if I could pay all my debts in 1 to 3 months through FDR. The associate was very helpful in verifying my concern, my phone went in and out and tried to to get it to repeat the 1 through 9 or 10 on service because I got distracted. I don't feel like I have to worry anymore about paying my bills, it is all being done stress free. This is all I ask for after losing my job. Updated on (03/21/2019): So far FDR helped me negotiate with creditors so I’d get reduced payoff. They’ve all been very professional, very forthcoming and straightforward with me. They work with me pretty well on my payment plan. It was a little high at first, but as I got more things paid down it turned out to be pretty good. But one thing I’m not real happy with is I continue to make payments, and they continue to send out small checks. And they charge me like $10 per check. I’m being charged not only to put money into an account, but also for them to pay money out of the account every time. There’s all kinds of fees they add in there. Nevertheless, FDR kept me from filing bankruptcy.
Original Review: Freedom Debt Relief helped me when I could not see a way out of a bad situation. Due to divorce and loss of income, I had debts that were overwhelming. Through their assistance I am able to maintain a monthly budget that will take care of my debt and still allow me to live a normal life.

This company took $1300 out of my bank account and only paid $400 to my creditor. The coverage they said was for service fees. They pay off one creditor at a time and collect their fees upfront. Don't waste your time or money.
