Well it has been over a week now since I was supposed to start my program and I was supposed to receive a welcome package and phone call and neither has been done. Not a great great start with this company.

Very unhappy with Freedom Debt Relief. Paid close to $4000 in less than a year. Have to file bankruptcy as I'm being sued by a creditor. I was dealing with medical issues and job loss when I went to them and was relieved that they could help me. Nope, it would take me another 5 yrs to get out of debt. Spoke to bankruptcy atty who said going with them was a big financial mistake.
Updated on 02/04/2018: I'm so upset. I canceled my account with Freedom Debt Relief on 1/17. I have an email on 1/19 confirming this, yet on 1/29 they paid a creditor! I cannot get a straight answer when they will stop settling nor when will I get my funds that are in a dedicated account. I was told 2 days then a week now 2-3 weeks! Their fees are high in debts you settle. My attorney said this was a bad financial mistake.

I was very nervous calling Freedom. It actually took me several weeks to do so, however the moment I started talking to my debt counselor I knew everything would go smoothly. Eddie ** was my counselor. One word comes to mind when I think of how my experience went with Freedom and Eddie--AMAZING!!! First off he was very down to earth, non judgmental. Extremely educated with his job and he appeared to be very happy and proud of the job he does daily helping people who are like myself, scared, skeptical, embarrassed and sleep deprived from constant worry.
I did much research on your company before calling. I can't say it enough, Eddie was great. Every question I asked was answered, and not answered with double talk but in terms I could understand. My daughter is with your program and she said the identical thing about the counselor she worked with. There was no sales pitch, no pushiness to sign up with Freedom.
The last thing I want to say is when an employee treats his customers the way Eddie treated me and sounds happy to educate people on the Debt programs, it shows me that not only is he a great employee, but I personally feel he likes the company he is representing and the company he is representing likes him and hopefully appreciates him. But, it more importantly showed me that Freedom must be a highly rated program to have employees like Eddie. The knowledge he had in explaining the program, his ease of explaining it and his patience with me, shows me how important it is to have employees like Eddie. He truly knows and is well versed on Freedom. That to me shows that your company deserves a high rating because of how he worked so patiently with me. I am canceling within the 3 day period. Very misleading and many bad reviews with the BBB. This program makes no sense to me after further review. When it comes down to it, all the complaints are over the same thing and wouldn't be surprised that all the positive reviews come from inside the company.

I was very impressed with Brando's friendly attitude, professionalism, and let's get it done attitude. He was able to help me so much better that I dropped the previous company, who was supposed to help me but didn't fight for me at all... had plenty of excuses and I was unhappy with and becoming very frustrated with. He even gave me his opinion and advice on how to drop the other plan. So, far I'm very pleased. It's an amount you can afford and includes my largest payments. These which the other place said they couldn't work with. I only had one question I'm not sure of the answer. When is the initial $25 going to be withdrawn from my account. It only says it will be deducted. I'm sure I just need to rephrase and my question will be answered right away. Thank you so much!

Received numerous unidentified texts with no name, no company ID, no return phone numbers, nothing to show they were legal or 'ok'. I thought they were 'phishing' until after a week they showed a return phone #. In the past, FDR seemed up & up, but I can't picture you resorting to this type of communication. The service I rec'd today was normal, good, actually very good. All of you folks are to be commended. You would be wise to change the way you could communicate by texting though. Thank you.

I immediately was greeted with a kind voice who seemed genuinely interested in why I called. Bree had a concerned voice when speaking with me about my debt. I truly felt like she wanted to help me. Bree was patient which was appreciated because I had a lot of questions. When we began to wrap things up and I had finally made the decision to go through with the program... a smile came over my face and I honestly felt a sense of relief. A feeling of hope. It was tough thinking I wasn't gonna go through with some of the obligations I brought upon myself. FDR was a Godsend. The burden of debt can be crushing and living paycheck to paycheck just to pay off your credit cards is difficult. FDR helped me clear my debts and get back on my feet and refocused. They were extremely helpful throughout the whole process.

I have seen no results since I'm in the program and my credit is going lower. I've been told when I started that I was going to see results during the first 5 months and it's taking longer than expected. I also see that they are charging me monthly service fees in between my deposits.

I was in hospital having quadruple bypass surgery. That morning I remembered that my draw for payment to Freedom Debt Relief was scheduled for the 18th, this was the 15th. I asked my husband to phone and ask to stop payment for month. He phoned and was treated extremely rudely. He explained what was happening and my concerns. Was asked if I could be put on phone to confirm this call. He had explained what was happening. We were just asking for this month to be skipped. They said to protect me but he had all information that only I would know. They became extremely rude and told him that he should not call because I hadn't put him on the account. I understand that but this was extenuating circumstances and very important because no money had been deposited into my account. I've read enough about this group and will negotiate the rest myself and save all of the fees and hassle that they have caused.

I had settled my third and final debt. Was waiting for my graduation packet. I called FDR and it was brought to my attention that my third and final debt was reneged. Nobody had called me. I had to call FDR to discuss the issue. Don’t understand how we settle on a price and a collector backs out.

Updated on 07/19/2020: Last May, I had been with Freedom for two years. They've helped me with $26,000 worth of credit card bills. I was doing good with the program until I got laid off. I got two more credit card bills to go but I had to reduce my payments. That slowed everything down. Other than that, I've never had any trouble with them. A woman in the office was asking the questions about Freedom Debt Relief and I told her they worked pretty good so she checked into it herself.
Original Review: Everything is going well so far, but I really don't agree with a 24 month payment plan. I did like that you can stop payment for emergency. I would like to do that every 4 month to catch up on the smaller bills if possible. Please inform me if we can schedule something like that. Thank you.

I can't believe how much my credit rating has dropped. When I received the information in the mail I was under the impression that you were lending me money at a lower rate to pay off my debit and I would pay you back. I wasn’t sure if I qualified for debt relief since it was my obligation to pay back the creditors that I borrowed money from. Taqiy was understanding and helpful. Adam helped me to consolidate my bills today. He communicated all the necessary information regarding the program and how it worked. He went into full detail on the debt relief program so that l completely understood all. I feel as though a heavy weight has been lifted. There is a plan l have to follow and can chart my progress. l love a plan! I can pay more each month to shorten the time of my program. There is a personal dashboard you can refer to. Everything is clear cut and easy to understand. I also have legal protection and was advised to give the Credit Card companies the phone number of the debt relief program. I was given the phone number of customer service in case Adam was away.
Adam and his team really care and understand the difficulties life can sometimes bring. I highly advise you to work with Adam because of his knowledge, professionalism and caring nature. He made the process so easy - no stress at all. If you use him, please give my name as a referral. You can even earn a financial bonus. I am a client as of today and l am very picky about who l deal with when it comes to financial matters. Adam, you get a 9 on the companies' scale. One is the lowest and nine being the highest. Over three years ago, I consulted and joined the thousands of consumers, structure debts instead of filing for bankruptcy. The explanations and offers were great. Here is the summary. As advertized, help in reducing debts by negotiating individual creditors. get debt free quick in 3 years. Then raise credit scores. Also be free from litigations. The promise of debt free in 3 years, was a lie, and, misleading concept. I was promised that by January 2018 I will be debt free. False. It looks like I still have over 6 thousand dollars in debt and still to be settled debt with 6 creditors.
This negotiating of debt is basically a hoodwinked ploy by FDR there is minimal negotiation ON YOUR BEHALF BY FDR. Let's look at one of my debts. The original debt was 450, but because it was not closed and negotiated properly, the interests grew and finally the debt became 520. Now comes your FDR, instead of negotiating for your interest at the original debt of 450, they negotiated for you at 520... and claimed 20% reduction in debt. They claimed the credit scores will rise fast. WRONG AGAIN, it was my actions, my payments that made the scores higher without FDR help. I recently recieved a disturbing call from a creditor agent, attempting prosecution. This is the last straw. I am out. I will answer creditors on my own. Too much reliance on credit restructuring companies that are in cohorts with creditors AT YOUR OWN EXPENSE. One should consider bankruptcy as a better solution.

Got good settlements and things were rolling then was randomly sued by a creditor. I had been in a structured settlement through FDR... Things went south and have been unable to get any answer for 6 months and still in a lawsuit over account I have in good standing with Freedom and making payments on for over a year.

I have 2 accounts remaining on my FDR program. I have found out today that in the 32 months that I've been enrolled, NO ONE has made contact with one of the remaining creditors... EVER!! And to add insult to it...the account has been sent to the "Legal" Dept. of the creditor so...it looks like I am now looking at being SUED! I trusted FDR that they would manage my accounts but they have lied to me over & over. I had to do my OWN investigating into my accounts. FDR lies and deceives its customers.

The representative I worked with made me consolidate 2 debts that my husband was paying for so that I would have enough of a balance for the FDR program to be approved. I reluctantly agreed to this. I recently was sued by one of my larger debtors and ended up having to settle for the full amount. I had to pay extra fees to NLLG, the corresponding legal group and then FDR pretty much wipes out my account with their 23% fees. So now I have essentially nothing left in my account for them to work with my other 3 debtors and have to build this back again, but with 50% less funds each month as that will be going to the debtor that sued me. I wish the rep were more clear on FDR's fees and how that affects the accounts because I would have never signed up for this program if I knew the full extent. The customer service never fully answers my questions. I cannot recommend this program.

I trust the process in the fact that debt relief is necessary. I have allowed myself to be so far in debt that I see no way out without some help. Not really sure that this is the only remedy, but besides filing for bankruptcy, I don't see any other way and still be able to pay off the balance of these bills. The amount of the interest is so outrageous it seems that I will never get out of debt unless I pay it all off all at once.

Variety of counselors - Every time I call I get someone new. There are definitely varying levels of experience and personalities. Most are nice though and seem to know what they’re doing but some know more than others. I get different answers from each.

I am unable to achieve closure on my Capital One card that settled in October of 2016. Yes 2016. Then I continue to be charged fees by FDR. I am frustrated and am unable to recommend your organization to others.

After the death of my husband, I had considerable debt and was falling behind. My children suggested a consolidated loan. Your company was the first I looked at and I called to see how it worked. Paris ** (?) was very clear and helpful and I signed up. I was able to stop worrying about paying the eight credit cards and had a once a month payment taken from my bank account. This was less than the individual payments. Paris guided me through the initial paperwork (no big deal) and explained how I could follow the account and payments online. Communications with your company were consistent and clear. Now, after almost five years, I am debt free (and ulcer free). I can recommend your services without reservation.

I've been making my monthly payments and nothing has happened. I've turned over the law firms and collections and I see nothing has been done with my accounts. I have a balance of $2400.00 and nothing. Also, I have taken care of making payment arrangements with 3 of my creditors to start making monthly payments. I guess I don't really understand the process.

If you want answers you have to call and make sure you get the person's name you are talking to. I had two representatives that didn’t do their job thoroughly and couldn’t give me direct answers. Then all of a sudden I got a representative that said all the right things and did exactly what should had been done months prior! Know what you are getting into and read everything! I wish I could remember his name cause he deserves an award!
