Ms. Betsy ** assisted me with the process of debt resolution. When Betsy asked me to explain my situation and the hardships I have endured, she listened with honest compassion and explained to me that there was indeed, an opportunity to alleviate much of my financial burden. This debt resolution will allow me to continue my graduate studies and continue my PhD in clinical psychology, working with children with disabilities to provide support and essential needs.
Betsy was so patient with me, as I had many questions and was somewhat nervous about such a big decision. She explained the mission of consumer advocacy, thoroughly described the debt resolution process, and answered all of my questions. I have worked in the customer service industry for over 14 years. I have high expectations for how I am treated as a consumer, and Betsy exceeded all of them with finesse, tact, and genuine support. Thank you so much for guiding me through this process!

Mike was very friendly. He clearly explained everything to me and answered any and all of my questions. Although my debt has become a huge problem, he relieved some of my stress by clearly explaining the debt consolidation process and how it is going to work in my favor. I feel better knowing that I will be credit card debt free in at least 5 years and that I don't have to be consumed with how I'm going to make this month's credit card payments and feed my family at the same time. Now, I can budget a manageable amount every month.

Updated on 08/27/2020: I was trying to figure out how I could consolidate some of my bills specifically my credit card debt. They were very nice and helpful at Freedom. They make it easy and they've been really quick to resolve some of my credit. I was really surprised at how quickly some of those are getting paid off. I still have maybe a year with them.

Wells Fargo states that they have not yet been contacted by Freedom Debt Relief. Capital One calls all day to the point of causing me stress. I am not sure of the name of the one CREDITOR paid off...???

Have been with Freedom Debt Relief for over 2 and half years and have deposited over $13,000. My current funds available is $6,000 and the amount of debt reduction is around $3,000. I have paid them over $4.000 in 2.5 years. I was aware of some fees for this service but when talking to the skilled salesperson they implied that they would be able to negotiate my amount owed to the credit cards to a min of 1/2 of what I owed. While I they have negotiated two of my accounts (one of which the credit company later resent their offer) to exactly 50% of the enrolled balance what I did not know is that Freedom Debt Relief charges would equal the 50% savings. So as it looks today when it is all said and done I will be paying the same amount as I enrolled but 50% to credit card company (which hurt my credit score) and 50% to Freedom Debt Relief.
When I contact them about concerns and issues they are very evasive and dismissive. As I stated above I had one Capital One resend the offer that was agreed upon between FDR and Capital One. I was never notified of this and was only made aware when I was informed that they had a new agreement with Capital One. With this new agreement between the two I was AGAIN charged over $900 agreement fee and when asked I was informed that credit companies can resend or cancel agreements if they decide they want to. I have attempted to exit their program to work with my creditors one on one but it has proven very difficult to get the over $6,000 in my "savings account" back so I am still currently with FDR until I can get my money back that has not been paid to creditors or used by FDR for fees. BEWARE if you use this company.

I just want to say to anybody out there who has found themselves over their heads in debt. There is a solution. Freedom Debt Relief was the best thing that could have happened to me. I paid off all of my outstanding debts and was able to put that extra $900.00 a month towards my home mortgage. We have no credit cards, no outstanding debt, and are financially in a much better place. I have kept my congratulations email, that you receive upon completing your goals, to remind me how much I accomplished with this program. I can't thank them enough!!!

Updated on 1/14/2019: We have had accounts settled to satisfaction. However when we enrolled our daughter and son in law were in the program. They have since finished. We were told that our daughter and son in law would get a referral fee. My son in law has questioned it many times as have I. We are always told they will receive it within 10 days, we have heard this lie to many times to count. Now that the kids are done Freedom has continued twice to take their monthly deposit out of their checking. Now on top of never getting the promised referral they have not been successful at getting the monthly deposits back that have been wrongfully taken. I know now to be very careful. As soon as we graduate I am going to my bank to stop payment on any further deposit withdrawls.
Original Review: When we signed with Freedom we were told it would be a 4 year program. Well in 6 months with them we have received 3 settlements. Ok they did something there. However recently the dashboard was showing a bulk settlement being negotiated for 5 accounts then it dropped and went back as strategic hold. A few weeks later all the same accounts showed bulk settlement again. Yesterday all 5 dropped to strategic and an different account now listed as bulk and just that one. In 6 months time with them out graduation date is steadily moving out longer. We were originally a graduation date of Sept 2021 and now yesterday it was January 2022, today I sign into the dashboard and graduation has become March 2022.
Seriously they are making me think I should have just filed bankruptcy. I have seen people bounce back from bankruptcy quicker. I called and questioned this to a response to put more money in our account. They knew when we signed up the program was leaving us $146 a week to live off when my husband only has 40 hours. Winter he most times does not get 40 hours. Therefore they knew from the start we wouldn't be able to put much extra in. The woman I talked to today said "Well what about income tax return money". We needed what we did get to help us. Besides when we signed up and I mentioned maybe if we could possibly swing it and put income tax money in we would do that. We were told they don't recommend doing that. We should save what we can to have a cash back up. Talk about contradiction.
Then they promise people that they have a referral bonus. We told them our daughter and son in law referred us. We were told when we made our 4th deposit they would get the referral bonus. I have called them 4 times about it since it was never paid. Each time I was told it must have been overlooked they would send it immediately. The daughter and her husband still have not received it. All I can say about Freedom is right now I would not recommend them to anyone. All they do is lie.

My experience with Phil this morning was relaxing. When I had previously looked into this with other companies they were pushy and not as understanding. So far the man helping us is wonderful and easy to talk to and he lays your worries to rest as much as possible. It's only been a few days since we started the process but already I feel more at ease I even slept without my mind wandering about bills. And the first day I talked to our personal guy I liked that he said we will definitely get to know each other over the couple years. I like the fact that he will keep us in the loop. And last week when I called back in to talk he automatically picked up and talked.
Now today is Friday and I know they can't answer every call right away because I know we are not the only people he has to help. And he said he would call on Friday. No I didn't hear anything yet but I did leave him some messages trying to remember what I wanted to say. And I asked that he call back as soon as he can. Preferably by Monday because I know people are busy but I still like my questions answered in a timely fashion which so far has been good but I do expect to reach him when I call at some point in my day especially since he said he would call today Friday. But I understand were not his only clients so I know we have to be patient. It's just I have really important question to ask. But besides this I think the man helping us is on the ball. And he made me feel so comfortable and like a weight was lifted off of us. Well ok then and I hope as it is so far that this works out just as great as you make it sound. Ok ty.

I have just started but the customer service base is amazing. I am really hoping that this shows that the service they officer is just as good or even better. I read multiple reviews about different companies helping people with a lot of debt issues. I fell on hard times as my wife lost her job. I reached out to this company in hopes that they would be able to help. This has been a nightmare since the beginning. Settlements were approved that I NEVER authorized, although THEY claim I did. Funny that these settlements were canceled due to not having enough funds in the dedicated account to pay, so why would I have approved them? Funny that Freedom Debt Relief still collected their fees and refuses to refund any of the money that they STOLE from my account. Now I call to ask for a status and they claim to have no ticket for this. As if the conversation and multiple phone calls never occurred. Anyone reading this, do yourself a favor and pick a different company, not this dishonest company.

Don't be fooled by this program!!! At 1st the program seemed good, but as you went deeper into this program, I noticed their fees were excessive and the debts were not being settled more quickly. I found filling a chapter 7 bankruptcy to speed up the unsecured debts was the route to go, instead of just throwing away my hard earned money for a program, that has hidden fees which were never told up front, they took over $4,000 from me and this could have been used towards something else. I would never recommend this program to anyone thinking about joining their program. I had creditors and collection agencies sending me collection letters in the mail, not sure as to why they didn't contact them personally and handled these?

Had a account with Freedom for 18 months, they only closed 2 small accounts and was scheduled to close a 3rd in July, I realized in January it still was not closed. Freedom was unaware that they never paid it off after 7 months, they were unaware. I had to call the creditor and pay it off myself. I then spoke to Freedom about why they only paid 2 accounts in 18 months, the rep told me they needed more money in my account to work faster, although they were taking $286 a month and I have 3 accounts under $600. I told them I would deposit $1000 in the account so they could pay off those small items, making it clear I wanted results with those small items.
As soon as I deposited the $1000 they settled a large account and took out a fee of $866! I called Jose ** the Manager at Freedom and explained the situation, telling him I wanted small accounts paid and not a big one that they set up over 24 months at $78 a month and took my $866 up front. I was told they would void it, but did not. And kept my $866! I canceled my monthly deposits, and they kept the remainder of my money I had in account. Do not work with these thieves! I am hiring a lawyer, if any past members would like to join me please do. We can file a Class Action, I will be posting this offer on all of social media please contact me if you would like to join. I know there were other class action suits against them in other states. Let’s stop these crooks.

Very well explained and upfront about everything. Staff was very nice and helpful. Hopefully help me get out of debt sooner. The phone calls very very prompt and I didn't have to wait on the phone long. Emails came through very quickly. I'm assured this will work.
