My wife and I were thinking about finding the best solution to resolve our debts when we stumbled upon Freedom Debt Relief (FDR). After reading some information and reviews on FDR, we decided to give it a try. We called and spoke with a Certified Debt Consultant named Bryan **. He was very helpful, knowledgeable, and professional but friendly, too. He took all the time needed to explain to us about the options they provide and answered all our questions and concerns. His good manner and approach made us feel comfortable to tell him about our real situation, so that he was able to help us choose the best option.
In the end, we decided to go with a program called negotiated debt settlement. Bryan was there through the whole process until we got enrolled in the program. With this program, Turnbull Law Group - a partner of FDR, will negotiate with our creditors/lenders to make settlements. They will set up a special account where we put our monthly deposit to eventually pay off all of our debts. We can choose the amount we can afford every month as well as the time period that is comfortable for us. Today, we just received our Welcome Guide! It's been a great experience so far, and we would recommend FDR and Bryan ** to anyone who needs help with obtaining debt relief. THANK YOU, Bryan! You're the best! :)

I had received an email for approval and emailed my choice. I then received the same email again. I called Freedom Debt Relief to see if my approval had not been received. I spoke to a young man who was very helpful. Everything was in order.

Updated on 03/17/2020: Freedom Debt didn’t seem like some fly-by-night internet spam or Facebook spam-type thing because it was on TV. It seemed a bit more legitimate. And when I spoke to them, they didn’t seem shady. They weren’t like, “Send us all your money and then we’ll work it out.” Also, making payments and stuff seemed a bit more legitimate. Naturally, if you pay them all at once, then it gets paid off faster.
Two of my debts have been completely settled. And then there are five that we’re working on that are payment-based, because they make a payment arrangement. However, I didn’t realize that they were just going to make payment arrangements because they made it sound like, “Okay, you get $500 into the account then we call them. We’re gonna settle this for $500 and then, bam, it’s off your credit. And then you build up again and then they settle.” Because with them making payment arrangements, it's gonna take quite a while for this to take place.
One of them that they just made for me the other day is a year-long payment arrangement. It’s going to be 10 payments long and I was hoping to have this all done by the summer of next year. And just the way that they’re going, that one’s gonna take a year and then it will take six months to drop off your credit. So, I really wish that they wouldn’t settle for small payments over so long of a time. I've put in almost $400 a month so I’d rather have them let me build it up, pay one off completely and be done with it, because then it will drop off in six months. But now, they have to pay for six months and then it takes six months to drop off.
They’re very nice people. But when I asked, “How do you pay them off?”, nobody said to me, “We make payment arrangements.” It seemed they skirted the issue. Because then, when they made the first agreement, I called them up and said, “Hey, are you guys always gonna be making a payment arrangement?” Then once again, they skirted that questioning, “Oh, well, you know...” and I said, “No, I wanna know” because I would’ve taken my taxes and given them $5,000 and been, “Pay off as much as you can.”
I understand that they don’t want people to get discouraged, but they need to answer the question honestly. If I asked, “Are you gonna make payment arrangements on everything,” it should be, “Yes, that’s what our policy is.” They told tell me this could take a few years depending on how much I was putting in so they let you know it’s gonna take a while, but they don’t give you all of the information. But other than that, they get the job done.
Original review: Great service. I can't believe how quickly my credit is being repaired. Weekly, I am getting notification that my credit is going up!! It will take just over 2 years for all of my debt to be paid off and then I will be able to buy my first home!!!

Been in for 5 years and nothing is really happening, have cancer and can't afford to keep paying, so probably going to have to discontinue the program, was told 36 to 48 months and there is no end in sight.

STAY AWAY!!! If you find yourself contemplating utilizing this agency, PLEASE run from this agency like it's the plague!! We enrolled multiple accounts to be consolidated in 2016 and busted our tails to pay off debts early. We got to the point of also dealing with the creditors on our own as we could get the same if not better payoff agreements WITHOUT paying the roughly 21% service fee FDR charges. We ended up with one final account that was enrolled with FDR where the agency would not work with us and required a structured settlement... no big deal. We paid that settlement off in early fall 2018. We were told we would have to wait until December 2018 for this account to be verified closed and enable us to graduate the program... earlier than our original graduation date.
Since December 2018, we have contacted FDR on multiple occasions inquiring as to why we haven't graduated, why there is still a pending account, why our dedicated account for our settlements is still populating delinquent funds since they charge you to have their bank account used to pay settlements open. The answer is always the same: "We are waiting on the creditor to clear the payment (still, since 2018), I'll elevate this so it gets done as soon as possible, it shouldn't be any more than 30 days and we'll close you out and you'll graduate program." It's the same language EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Multiple times since Dec 2018. Completely unprofessional and unsat!!! This should have been taken care of OVER a year ago. So, PLEASE run from this agency and handle your accounts yourself. It's not that hard and the creditors WILL, most of the time, work with you.

Why does FDR allow a client to become behind in all their bills, that lowers their credit score to a point it hurts their credit ability, then offer a consolidation loan after credit cards have accumulated late fees which increases the debt ratio. Why not offer the consolidation loan at the beginning?

It is truly refreshing to actually have a company be concerned about their client’s obligations and they also realize that somethings happen that is out ones’ control. After finalizing the situation with my work, I had to contact several of my creditors and explain to them as to what happened in my personal life and let me just say that it was and is very embarrassing. It is difficult to discuss an issue that is personal in nature but if the creditors aren’t aware there are issues, then they can help you out. So, I laid all my cards on the table and explained to the CSR (Customer Service Representative) what kind of a pickle I was in and that I needed to make arrangements so that this problem of mine wouldn’t make things even worse than what it is. There have been many times that FDR has helped me out since becoming of your agency. Just as it always has been, if you don’t know you can’t fix it.
So, if you are made aware of a situation, then it can be fix which that is exactly what the CSR did for me yesterday; 1 Feb. 2020. FDR has helped me out several times since becoming a client and they have been such kind people to speak with and easy going. Each time when asked to pull money from account, there has never been an issue. FDR is a company that truly seems to have the best interest for their clients; at least that is what I have experienced. Money matters are always a stressful time in our lives, but add in their other issues of your life and everything seems so heavy and is hard to get past. Now FDR is always letting me know if there is anything else, I need, just give them a call.
The businesses of today are more about the ‘mean dollar’ that they forget about their employees that make for great experiences. For those of us that are down in the trenches taking calls, dealing with client’s problem and listening to their frustration makes is even more important that the client/customer is able to vent and get their problem resolved as quickly as possible. First rep was rude and unhelpful. Second rep Bob when I called again was very helpful and empathetic that I had been charged $483 on top of my two $261 a month payments = $573. I did get my bank to reverse $483 at a cost of $30 which I would like Freedom to reimburse me. First rep was threatening and did not say I only needed $64 for my structured settlements not to be in jeopardy. Bob was the one that told me that instead. First rep, said well couldnt you borrow the money from family or friends this was a bullying technique to try to get me to pay. I could no ask family or friends to pay my debts.
I told first rep I would put $261 into my account at the end of the month which I did. She basically didnt believe I would and kept threatening me with ALL my structured settlements being in jeopardy. I’m trying and have a good payment record. The conversation with the first rep, was intimidating and stressful. I’m glad I called again and got Bob who explained all I needed was $64 on the 20th to keep the account in order.

Updated on 09/23/2020: At this point we have 3 resolved debts, 4 are in process which means Freedom Debt Relief has set up a structured settlement. These companies get monthly payments. Then we have 4 remaining debts. I am very happy how the program is working for us. Anytime I call the Freedom Debt Relief the associate is always very helpful and friendly. They can always answer my question. When we started this program I really wasn't too sure if we were doing the right thing to help get us out of debt. I am so glad we did! To make this program work you must keep up on your monthly payments to Freedom Debt Relief. Even when my husband lost income due to Covid, this company worked with us so we could still send in a smaller monthly payment but we would still be on track. Send any letters or notices to them so they will always have your file updated. If you don't do your part, Freedom Debt Relief can't do theirs.
Original Review: We are now 5 months into the program Enrollment was very easy and the representative did a great job explaining the program. The hardest part was in the beginning when we stop paying those monthly bills and we didn't see anything happening. Well all of a sudden in January we had our first settlement and then about two week later we had our second settlement. What a great feeling! I love the client dashboard and check it frequently. Every time I have called with a question, the person I talked to was very pleasant and was able to help me out. This program takes you and FDR working together to lower the debt. It is also important to remember that the debt will not be gone once you sign up for the program, creditors will call and you need to grow your dedicated account to get this moving. So glad we decided to sign up for this program.

I've heard so many horror stories about scammy debt consolidation companies that I was exceedingly hesitant about trusting any of them at all. I heard about Freedom Debt Relief from a member of my church, which immediately instilled some amount of trust, but not 100% yet. They were great about walking me through every step of the process and answering all my questions before getting started. They never pushed me into anything, they just continued answering my questions until I was ready.
Then, when I finally was ready, the process was very simple and straightforward. They even have provisions for nasty bill collection calls and letters so you don't feel trapped or attacked by your creditors during the process. I am only a few months into my debt consolidation program but my accounts are already beginning to be settled, which is faster than I expected. So far I am satisfied with the experience I have had. When I do have a question or concerns, those have been handled in a timely manner. I am just impatient and would like it done and over so I can start bringing my credit score back. Before I was so stupid in using credit cards for medical needs.

Very cooperative people. Easy to understand and will help me a 66 year old with a wife with late stage ovarian cancer. I got in trouble due to high medical bills associated with operations and chemotherapy. I will save over 150 dollars a month to help with bills. Being on social security and a limited part time job without FDR help my wife and I could be homeless.

Just really beginning the settlement process - I had to be really patient and follow all the guidelines you had provided as well as talk to John ** who initiated this with me. There is no stress. FDR does everything to help you resolve your debt. I don't get phone calls from creditors. Any written threats, I can fax to them. All I have to do is to is stay timely on my payments. Although you are not rejected if you do. They just tell you what you can do.

I had received text regarding a problem with one of my settlements and there isn't enough to cover the monthly payment. I called because Freedom handles the $920/month so how could this happens. The person I spoke to looked into it and found it was an error on their part and would be resolved. She was so helpful. Her manner on how she spoke to me was excellent. A friend of mine told me about Freedom Debt Relief, that she was with them, and they did a very good job for her, so she introduced me. I have a lot of credit card debt, I wasn’t working, and I was going through a really hard time with the passing of my father and some other relatives. It was a really rough year for me. So, I worked with Liz and she was perfect. She took the time out and talked to me about it, walked me through the process, told me what I needed to do, and that’s what I did. I was impressed with her respect, patience, and the time that she spent to ensure me that everything was gonna be okay. She told me to just do what they tell me to do and follow the procedure. She was amazing.
For the payment plan, they told me to go to the bank and pick out an account and give them the account to get their payment automated so they can pay my debt. I was 110% comfortable working with them and the quality of service is excellent. They provide me a peace of mind because so far some are settled that I have, and they collect all my credit card and they have been paying it because I’ve been paying them. I get back results from the bank or whosoever I have credit with and they say that some of them are paid off already. So, I see results. It made my life a whole lot easier because I don’t have to worry about five, six, seven, or eight payment per month. I would worry about one payment. And if somebody asks me about Freedom, I would say, “Go ahead. It will make your life a whole lot easier.” It was really great because I introduced other people to it and they’re also are getting results.

Live customer service every time when you call. I have never been on hold. They email you often to keep things on track. And if you happen to overlook your emails they will drop a letter in the mail. They sincerely care about you and your future.

Christine **. She was Wonderful helping me sign up and she told me to call with any Questions. I don’t really know anything about computers and online things and she walked me through it very well. I was very happy with my experience until I sent in a creditor's letter and was told by you that it was a new debt and you were raising my payment. I gave you all my debts a year ago and do not see how it could be a new debt, and now the extra money coming out every month is a strain on my already strained budget. I still appreciate what you are doing for me.

I am somewhat happy with the program, only wish it was clear that I would be paying a lot of money for the service itself when agreeing to sign on my debt. Customer service has been very helpful along the way, just wish we could eliminate surprises with clearer explanation upon enrollment.

Overall service is great!! I also have a lawyer working on my Discover card and NEVER AM I able to talk speak to her, it's always through emails... I understand they have a lot of people to deal with and CAN sit in front of their computer but me being a working person that doesn't sit in front of a computer all day would must rather talk on the phone!! Was fixed but was late to a job I need... just saying.

My husband passed unexpectedly and I found out that his life insurance was denied. So, I was having a lot of financial problems and had to make a choice to do what I did with my credit card. I got an advertisement type email from Freedom Debt Relief and they seemed to be fairer with me on the charges and how long it would take to pay it off. Their end results were better than other companies and they answered every question, no matter how silly it was. They helped me consolidate anything that I could. So, they were a big help. The man who signed me up was very helpful. He understood my position at the time and I was kind of hard to deal with. I was very distraught. He didn't know which end was up and he took his time. When he said he was gonna call me back, he did and it made all the difference.
Working with Freedom made my financial situation a lot easier. I only pay the 315 a month instead of that constant revolving door of paying the minimum payment on the credit card and then it doesn't even go on it. It just goes towards interest or late payments, and with this, I don't have a problem. There were eight cards and I only have two left. Freedom works out in my benefit and I would definitely recommend them.

I really happy to enter in the program FDR, my life is much less complicated since that, actually I regret not did it before, I was using all my salary to pay high interests and always worried if I was have money to pay all the bills, then after a year with an income on the edge for just pay the bills and my life overwhelmed, tired and sad I opted for the consolidation with FDR, I’m not late or missing payments at that time, but I decided that was the time before I get sick and depressed.

I would like to see where my monthly payments are going. I have settled on several accounts but aren’t sure how much of my monthly payments are going towards the accounts that have been settled. I’m in $20,000 debt and I’m trying to get it off my back, and I decided to go with Freedom Debt Relief. I had a problem with one of the customer service rep. When I first got started, I didn't appreciate him at all because he'd tell me one thing, then there'd be something else. I was really upset with him. He gave me a lot of incorrect information. After that, I was ready to leave and go to somebody else, but I decided to stay. They told me I didn't have to deal with him anymore, so I started talking to different representatives when I called back. We finally got it straightened out and I didn't wanna work with him anymore. If I’m trying to deal with you and trying to take care of my business, I need a straightforward answer. I don’t have time to be playing games.
My account was moving when I first signed up, but in the middle part, that was last year, it wasn’t moving until I started taking funds out of my dedicated account. I had about $5,000 in there. But at the time, I didn't have money to buy food. I figured they got money sitting there and they were not working with it, so I might as well get funds out the dedicated account. I went in there three times. And that was when they started working with the creditors. I didn't like that part. Another thing, if you got a certain amount of money in the account, like $600, and Capital One is asking for $600, why don’t you just go ahead and give them the whole $600 instead of doing a structured settlement. The stuff that I went through wasn't right. I had worked with another company and they didn't do structured settlement. They had such and such in an account, and they gave it to the people to get it off my back.
Freedom got a bit stress off me, but I’m not too satisfied. They gave me an estimate when I first signed up. I was giving them at first $300 or $400. They told me if I'd give them $900 every month, I'd be out of debt in 2020. I’m a single mother on disability and I’m barely making it. So, I figured if I gave them the money, I would be out the program right this time. But that was a lie. Now I’m gonna be in it till 2023. They should be straight-up with me and tell me when I’m gonna be out the program. I'm giving them the $900 and it’s just sitting there. I told the people, “Since you’re not doing anything with the money, go ahead and take what you’re supposed to take out. I won't be sitting here starving.” And then I’m sitting here starving. On top of that, I had to get payday loans to get us something to eat and I shouldn’t be doing that. I wouldn’t recommend them to anybody.
