I see TitleMax a lot so I used them for my car title. The overall lending process with them was real easy and quick. It probably took just about 35 minutes. The loan processor was also excellent. She called the next day and made sure I was comfortable with what went on and if I had any more questions. TitleMax was a stress-reliever but it wasn’t what I thought it was gonna be all along. They don’t state before you get there that they also look at certain things on the car like the tires, etc.

The lending process with TitleMax was very convenient. My brother referred me to TitleMax. I got a car title loan and the lending process was very fast, simple, and really easy. When I inquired about them, I met a lady rep who was really nice. She really helped me get through the process and decide on what I needed and what I could get. She had the best rates around there and I figured I would go with them. She was awesome, really funny, and I'm glad we chose her. She went above and beyond. The process took 35 minutes which was mostly waiting for the approval. I’ve got my bills caught up right now but working with TitleMax pulled me through a little swamp. I would really prefer going there over anywhere else.

TitleMax's overall lending process was quick, it only took 30 minutes. Their people were very friendly and helpful, and they explained the stuff to me. The only problem is the location I went to where I can only do a 30-day payback, whereas the other TitleMax locations gave seven months which was more convenient because I am able to break the payment down with a monthly plan to pay them back. However, the rep did tip me that if I needed an extension I can get one on it. I would definitely recommend TitleMax.

Before I went to their store at the North Oaks Plaza, I looked at some of the reviews to be a little informed. I read a couple of people were upset. I've never had a loan with them before so I went in thinking it was gonna be difficult. But it was fairly easy and the lending process was very quick. I got as much as I wanted and I'm hoping that it will help my credit with the payments made. I love the store manager Anthony. He's the best person they have on their team. There was a lady there training and he was very helpful if she did get stuck so everything was nice and smooth.

TitleMax is a good company and if I need them again, I will use them.

I was in a little bind and needed some financial help. TitleMax was close to my house, thus I can get there and pay my bill on time. The lending process was convenient, fast, and very professional. People in there were friendly. Working with TitleMax helped me a lot. However, I only got $1,250 for my title loan but by the time I finish paying it back, I would've paid $2,000, so I'm paying an extra $700. That interest is steep but it is what it is.

I'm thankful that TitleMax was there when I needed them. I had already done business with them before and this time I got a title loan on my SUV. The lending process took an hour or so but could have been quicker because the first time I got a loan with them, I was in and out, just signed my paperwork, no problem. I understand things change. But on this last time, when I went in, they were telling me that I had to pay the fee for the title change. I had to go to the courthouse to file whatever paperwork there was, then come back and notify them that it was done, and then they would give me the check on the loan on my truck.
That alone pissed me off and I thought about going somewhere else. I'm in business and time is money, and these are people who are taking off on their lunch break. We ran into a medical issue we needed to address right then so time was of the essence. I needed to get in, get it and be back at work so that I could send my husband to go make sure our child was alright. I don't mind paying the fees for the title change and all that but I felt like what they told me was not right.
So I pitched a fit and explained to them why I felt like there was malarkey. I asked the district manager there, "Why do I have to do your school work for you? I'm already getting a loan on my vehicle that I already gotta pay you back with interest, which is cool. That's the whole purpose. But I'm not loaning with you so I can go do your job for you. I have my own job to do." The district manager went to the courthouse and dealt with all of that himself and came back and then, they released the check to me, but we had to wait for him to go take care of that and come back.
But the TitleMax reps were very nice and respectful. The lending processor who helped me might have been new. She was okay but I didn't like the fact that folks were standing over her shoulder. For a customer, they're going to feel like, "Well, why are they all in my business? What's really going on?" That makes them uncomfortable and that alone will turn people away. But overall, she did her job. I feel there are things that could be changed but overall, TitleMax was a great help.

I went through Titlemax some years ago and I just went back to them. My recent experience wasn't that good, though. I defaulted on the first title loan that I had open with them a couple of years ago. Now, I bought a new Mercedes '02 and tried to do a title loan. They barely wanted to give me anything for it. I'm not going to go through them anymore after I pay off this title loan. The other time I went with them, the lending process was convenient, but this time, it took a lot longer than usual. We have to wait for the head office to send something back. They said my name was spelled incorrectly when it wasn't. It took roughly an hour to do the whole title loan. The overall outcome was unsatisfying.
I only got a small loan. The lending processor told me that if I miss one day on the payment, the whole thing will be voided out. The account will go into lien status and they'll start looking for my car. It's ridiculous for such a small loan to be like that. I'm also not comfortable with the interest rate on it. I only did it because I was in a state of emergency and I really was crunched for time. I didn't have any other choice at the time. In addition, I'm trying to keep track of this first 30 days, and it's stressful trying to keep track of it. I move around a lot. I'm not in the area that I had gotten the title loan every day. It's an inconvenience to me.

My friend who'd gotten a title loan from TitleMax told me about them. Overall, the car title loan process was easy and convenient. The lending process took 30 or 40 minutes. The loan helped out a lot because my husband had lost his job, I was the only one working and $150 a week wasn't gonna pay our rent, light bill, water bill and car insurance. The only thing I didn't like was I expected more than what I got and by the time we paid everything, we didn't have anything else left. But a week later, the general manager called and said that we were able to go back in if we needed more money, which was very nice to know. I would recommend TitleMax very highly.

Thanks for your feedback Jerry. We train our employees to spell out the risks associated with title loans/pawns. Due to the nature of a collateral based loan, we typically have to reposes cars when we do not receive payment/can't communicate with the customer. We really hate to do this because it is a lose/lose for both parties. If you wish to file a formal complaint, I urge your to contact our customer support hotline at 800-804-5368. Thanks!

The initial signing up for my loan with TitleMax was a very good experience. I had already looked up on the internet exactly what I needed to get a loan so I made sure I came prepared with my I.D and title. They had a very courteous rep. She's very knowledgeable about what she's doing. I appreciate the fact that they trusted me with a loan even if I just finished with the discharge and bankruptcy. The overall customer service was great.
They gave me the funds via check and I have to go and cash it. The convenience of it is their base was not far from me. I was able to drive six to ten minutes away to go cash a check which I felt wasn't an extra charge for me. If I had to pay another fee to cash it, then the loan wouldn't have been worth it. But I was disappointed that when I initially got the $400 loan I need from TitleMax, I have to immediately give up a $100 to pay for my car title to be sent back to me. It's not beneficial that as soon as I get the loan, I have to give a large portion of it up before I can even use it.
It's unfair that we're coming to them for a loan and yet the company would make the customer pay for the title to be settled. Then also, I have paid my loan back within a week yet still have to wait for my title to be delivered so I can get it back. Now that I know the process and how they do things, I would have to be in a dire straits to go to TitleMax again. It was a good lesson.

I had to get some auto repairs and pay a few extra bills off so I went in there and got 80. It was easy to deal with them. The young lending processor was very nice and professional. It was great doing business with them. It worked out well and I always pay them off in a timely fashion. And by doing that, it allows me to be able to go back if I ever need future lending.

I used to own a small loan company in Cuero, Texas but I went through a divorce and it's almost final. I ended up taking a car title loan with TitleMax. It was very convenient and easy. I love the fact that I could just call in, do the application over the internet, then get a call back and be in and out within 30 minutes. The lending processor was very knowledgeable and friendly. I think I ended up spending more time there talking about things other than my loan. I'd recommend TitleMax. Getting the loan from them did relieve a little stress but I know it's gonna come back if I don't hurry up and get a position to work.

The lady that I dealt with at TitleMax was new and the process took longer than what I thought it was going to take. It was probably an hour and a half because she was having problems working the computer. She had to call on the boss over there several times. Nevertheless, the overall lending process with TitleMax was good. I don't have any complaints other than the processing time. I would recommend them.

My vehicle is an older model. I went online and a lot of the companies won't lend money because they have a limit on how old the vehicle can be. TitleMax didn’t have that so I went with them. The lending process was great. It was really easy and it didn’t take very long at all. I was in and out of there in 45 minutes. The lending processor helped me a lot. She explained the difference between the title pawn and the line of credit. She told me the advantages of the line of credit that I can take out. As much as I wanted that first and then not as we go through the whole process again like I would with the title pawn if I wanted to take out extra, add to my line of credit and the different payment options. I got the line of credit and I was able to get new glasses, and I'm going to have to get some new tires for my truck before wintertime. I was very happy with it.

I got a title loan for a vehicle and they also ran my credit. The process was fast and convenient which took about 20 minutes due to there were a couple of little things that I had to do that took some time. I had to get a hold of my insurance company so they can issue me a card and then jump on my bank to print out some bank statements. So TitleMax did everything they could to help me out and get me back on my way. I wanna give them a big pat on the back since they were really great and fun to work with. A big kudos to them. I've used TitleMax before and I like their process. I feel more comfortable being that it's a different responsibility to me the way TitleMax does it. It's my car. It's not just like I'm gonna owe somebody money. I used the money to get my car fixed and so the loan is a purpose for my vehicle in itself, my title for their money. The lending process was a bit inconvenient because I live in Polk County and had to go to Villa Rica because the branch in Polk County didn't answer. I applied online and the lady hooked me up with the closest one. The manager who processed my loan was very respectful and pleasing. I've seen TitleMax and decided to road check and buy it. I’d rather not ask for more money than I needed and I'm against doing credit, but I had a quick bind due to moving and starting a new job. I figured TitleMax would be much easier than asking my banks for a lot more money and having to use that money most of it back and spending that time. It was for a car and the overall lending process was quick and simple. I didn’t have any issues with it and it's a lot faster than I expected it to be. It seemed as though the employee who’s doing it was new at what he was doing, but overall I didn’t have a bad experience at all. I've been dealing with TitleMax for years and they have had my car title more than once. The processes have been fine, up until this last one. I don't like the new program where they offer a credit line and then they come around and say that it's not a credit line. I'm not sure if I got the best deal or not because I didn't come out with any additional credit like the gentleman told me.
The gentleman from TitleMax told me originally that I was in line for a $2,700 worth of credit. I only needed to take $1,000 that day, and then I could come back additionally to take more. He called his manager and the manager was the one that told me what to do. They knew of my situation and the timing I was looking at before I ever got there, and I had already called and mentioned what was going on early in the day. I only had a few minutes to make it happen and I needed the money immediately. I was leaving town so I wanted to get a certain amount and I didn't care at that point what the process of a finance deal would even be. I should have done a title pawn instead of the finance deal.
When the time was said and done, there was no more money to be gotten and I was still hung up in the realm of financing. I never got a chance to compare the two. But TitleMax still came through for me and the guy was nice enough. He was new and it wasn't his fault at all. I was running behind and couldn't properly go through each one specifically. In general, it was still a positive experience.

During the process, there was something they couldn't validate but eventually, they finally did. Someone else had to come over and work their machine. Other than that, everything was fine. I didn't have any problems with it. I got $2,300 for the car and the car is only worth about $4,000. I think that it was excellent for what they get. Their prices are very, very steep. They try to prey on the debts of people. I saw a lot of people that go in. There were good people and there were people that should be dealt with behind closed doors for maybe different things. I think they should have other payment options too. I asked them if was there a 60-day option but there isn't. It's a cutthroat game so I understand.
The lady did exactly what she was asked to do. The people coming in there ask a lot of different questions like, "What do I need? Do I need to bring this? Do I need to bring that? What if I don't have a proof to this? I don't have a job." It was like the same old entire question to them and I don't think that the customer service was up to par. They were a little bit jaded as if people coming in maybe aren't as good as them and that's very sad to say for a lending place. Everybody got the same treatment and I did not like that. It's very straightforward, blunt, just looking at you when you speak as if you're speaking a different language. That was the one thing I will say about the customer service. Also I couldn't get the check cashed out at the Krogers or Walmart. I had to cash it through the U.S. Bank which is fine. Other than that, I had a pretty decent experience.

I pawn the title 3 years ago and I am still paying and it doesn't matter how much I pay the principal never go down. I don't understand how the government lets these types of business do business. They charge $600 to $ 800 in fees and then expect you to paid more to get the principal down. I am not sure about everyone but if I pay you this kind of money, maybe 100 or no more than 200 should be the fees. If you are late they don't tell you that you are being charged an additional 20 or so dollars a day.
These companies and just like the rent to own companies and the government had to step in and control of the way they charge the consumer. This being said at the office I deal with there are some nice employees working there but there are some who needs to take a class on how to treat others. I almost lost my mom a couple of months ago and when I explain what happen they were willing to postpone my pay date but still charge me the late fees. I paid this company 1200 dollars and none of this went to the principal. I have my bank statement showing the payments. I tried TitleMax, said, "I went online" and he told me one place so when I got there, it was totally different. The lending part was cool. When I did the lending online, TitleMax told me my vehicle was worth $1300 to $2200. When I got there, they were telling me that my vehicle is worth something totally different, not even $688. They're going to give $688 for my vehicle and I said there's nothing wrong with my vehicle. The amount they gave helped, but for $488, the only thing I needed was $700, and that’s not a big difference. I got a whole vehicle title and see my truck "oh, that was the guy in August, I’ll pay you almost $4,000 for it". I used the black book buyer, but the black book buyer is bogus.
The process was okay. It was a two-party title, so both of those has a lot of information and it took a little more than 30 minutes. It was the computer’s fault. They're saying, they do when they put in the computer, wait for the computer to approve, and that’s what takes so long. It took the computer 20 minutes just to get the approval. As far as the paperwork, everything else was good.
Working with the lending processor is a normal process. I was talking with them, how their day was, they begin to process and she went out to look at the vehicle, took pictures of it. I came out there and so we came back in. I filled out a couple more forms and then came the waiting game. Now, I'll go ahead and pay TitleMax back asap before I get charged a whole bunch of money like $488. If I was to keep it with so much, I got to pay $1092. Other than those, I appreciate what they all did. TitleMax was great, I have my problem solved.

So on the date that I confirmed I would be in to make a payment. I go in and their internet was down and was told that I would be ok until the next day to make a payment by the store manager. Ok, so I call the next day before I drive so far to make the payment and before I could finish dialing a rude representative called me name BC that has an accent stated that I needed to travel even further to make a payment because the system was still down.
First, she has always been rude and I don't care to deal with her then for her rude self to call me and be very rude to me again was not called for and I'm really upset now. Then I get to the West Broad St location and they tell me that they cannot take my payment because it was not the right amount. Well I went by what the manager Carl told me.
Ok, I have to be to work and the only question I was asked was "why did you wait to come and make a payment". First, I have a young child and second, I care for my sick elderly parent that requires care 24/7 and third, it does not matter why, just know that unlike some of their other customers, I came in to make a payment and did not try to avoid them. And to be treated the way that I did was uncalled for and very disgusting and I have gone to social media and told everyone whom has thought about going to TitleMax to never ever go to them and to go elsewhere. Never have I been treated like this by anyone. They hire rude, disgusting people and do not know how to talk to anyone and once I pay my loan off, they will never ever see my business again.

Title Max or EZ Loan Look-Up East Dundee, IL - I e-mailed this place as I have a need for a loan. I saw in their ad that "the lender would come to you". My car is garage stored; it runs but needs work. I cannot drive it to their place of business. The representative told me I had to bring the car in. I had explained that I couldn't drive it, but that their ad said "lender would come to you". They wouldn't.
Hello Vern, thank you for the feedback. I want to assure you TitleMax has never had this selling point or statement on our website. I do not know about EZ Loan Look-Up because it is a totally different entity (not us), but we have never claimed to visit our customers house for a vehicle appraisal. I am so sorry!

Early this month I was taken to the hospital by ambulance because I was bleeding internally. Fortunately they were able to save my life but not before TitleMax repossessed my car for being $100 late for 13 days. Not just any car, my pristine 1984 Pontiac Fiero Indy Pace car. I doubt I'll ever get it back because they will tax on charges that will make it impossible for me, a disabled war vet, to ever get my car back. Save yourself the grief and aggravation and avoid them. Their excuse was "we couldn't get a hold of you by phone". Of course not, I'm clinging on to life at the hospital. Did they ever think to send me something in the mail? I think this should be illegal. I know in my heart it is wrong, very wrong.
Hello Michael, I am so sorry and hope you are feeling better. I just wanted to reach out and sincerely apologize for how we handled the situation. Whenever you signed the contract, did the CSR ever ask for emergency contacts? We train our stores to gather these so they have someone to reach out to when they cannot get a hold of you. Also, if you would like to file a formal complaint I urge you to call 800-804-5368 and share your experience. Thank you!

My husband and I fell on hard times. 9 children, 2 chronically ill, 3 in college and all on one income. We had to get a title loan. We heard so many horror stories and tried everything to avoid it but to no avail. We fell behind in our payments, we stayed in contact. We made a arrangement for this past Friday (which we kept) and a payment this coming Friday (which had not yet passed), this would have bought us current. To my shock, I seen them taking my car this morning. I was beside myself. It was at 8am and the place didn't open till 10.
Needless to say, all that I had read and heard started to flood my mind. At 9:45 I called the company. Upset and preparing for the worst. Well... what I got was an apology, told that it was an oversight in their part and not only didn't they demand any money... they actually brought my car back to me. Yes, you read correctly, they personally returned it! I had to write this because I know how quickly we write to make complaints but lack that same zeal when it comes to praise. Consider this "One for the Gipper." It would be a absolute shame not to have let everyone know the good as well. Thank you.
Tim, thank you for the positive feedback. I am so glad this was resolved and that our team was able to admit their mistake and make it right. We appreciate your business and are so glad to be a resource during this time!

They ruined the Title and didn't send it back for 3 days and by the Title being ruined she could not get a loan to give my money back so they screwed me and were very disrespectful. They got double the money and basically pushed us out the door. Don't fool with these guys.

Almost 3 years ago I went into a TitleMax to look into getting a loan. I went in. They looked at my car, took pictures, looked at my title and started to fill out the paperwork. As the person explained to me the interest rates and everything I decided not to get the loan. Well yesterday I came home from a family emergency and my car was not in my driveway, called the police and was told it was repossessed. I called TitleMax this morning and they said I owed $1100 for a loan I took out 3 years ago. Umm excuse me I didn't take any loan. I have the title to my car in my possession so how the heck are they telling me they have my title. To make things worse I have been trying to get a hold of corporate and they keep giving me the runaround saying someone will call back and no one has. So I have missed a day of work and my child missed school today. This place needs investigated and shut down.

I wish I would have looked up their reviews to this scam of the place! I was in between jobs my child's birthday came up and I needed the money for my power and his birthday, I'm a single mother with a full-time job & was having hard times like everybody else making a review for this place. My car is worth $10,000 and I borrowed $1,500 dollars from them 6 months ago. I am charged $250 a month and $50 a day "they never tell you about in the beginning" for being late. Just like everybody else on here I figured my car should have been paid off by now so I walk in the store to get my principal & pay for the month thinking that was probably going to be my last payment to find out I still owe them $1,500??? So for the last 6 months my $250 plus the few times I was late they charge me $50 a day all that money went to them!
I understand charging a fee are making a reasonable interest rate but what they're doing is downright Savage. I doubt that the owner even gives a ** or ever reads these reviews but I really hope he/she one day does and knows that they will have to answer for all this one day! If their life's not already miserable from Karma. I've used other title loan companies and never has it been this bad where nothing goes to the principal or they do 90 days no interest. And when I walked in there and seeing that I still owed $1,500 of course I paid my $250. I got a receipt back that said I now owed $1,250 but 15 minutes later I got a text message saying that I owed 1,500 to get my title back. So they make you believe your money is going towards the principal when you pay them but when you leave it's really just a fee and they somehow always seem to "justify it".
I wish I could go tell them to ** themselves but then again "they have my title" last month I paid $300. I was 1 day late so I owed $250 plus $50 for one day late fee. I didn't get a message until a couple weeks later saying my car is on the tow list because I owe them $2.38. Yes that's right "TWO DOLLARS & THIRTY-EIGHT CENT" for the previous month which makes me 1 month behind. I called and ask the girl from the Mobile, AL store (no names until I get my title back???). "Why do I owe $2.38 & why didn't you let me know when I paid" and she said "It was taxes!!!" If they'd had my right address they would have done towed my car even though I pay every month even if it's a couple days late but you can believe I'll be paying that bad boy off when I get my next check.
Bottom line is there's NO WAY to get your title back unless you pay the ENTIRE amount that you borrowed all at one time. What's ** is that if you are in the situation where you have to borrow that amount of money? The chances of you accumulating that much again on your own is impossible. You would have to put back some money each month, which is also impossible to do if you owe them each month too. There's no payment plan! There's none of that. In order to get my car back I would have to walk in there with $1,500 and hand it to her as long as I'm going in there with $250 a month the principal will stay the same.
There's other title loan companies that treat you better and charge you a moral price. So if you can't get the entire amount then try to go to another Title Company "a legit & moral one" (trust me there are few good ones) and make sure you ask all the guidelines and Maybe even have a lawyer present & then go get your title back from the HELL of a place TITLE MAX!!! Oh & FYI if there are any good reviews on here notice how they name names and locations! Because they are employers reviewing themselves. Trust me!

Make no mistake. This loan is designed to repossess your vehicle. Granted you know the terms going in, people go here in dire straits, not knowing they just lost what little they had. They justify by saying emergency cash, all payments go to TitleMax, nothing to principle which has to be illegal. You are basically selling them your vehicle for pennies on the dollar, then any payments you make they get that and your vehicle.
Shame on this company, GREED at its finest. They pray on people that are in dire straits, and make their life even worse. This HAS TO BE ILLEGAL. TAKE WHAT LITTLE DIGNITY they have left and put them walking. Ya get a mere smidge of the value of your vehicle. Take a few payments and first time even one day late snatch what ya have left. Hope their owner rots in hell!! Should be on American greed, another idea someone thought of to totally steal, rob and degrade someone already at a low point in their life, and I'm sure sleeps well at life in his mansion off the blood money of poor hardworking Americans. After making 3 payments totaling $1,221 I like to be careful with my stuff, so I asked the guy at this location after making a payment of $410.00. I asked if he can give me my principal balance. I was in total shock, so I was asking where has my money gone. I already paid you guys over $1200 dollars."
So he tells me "Wait a second while I review your account." So he comes back with a bunch of bogus numbers that don't add up so I told myself "I'm done with you guys. TitleMax is famous for repossessing your car the night before when you have made arrangements to pay my late payment. The tow truck driver was ruthless. He drug my mini van down the street with it in park. He said, "Give me the keys," and I said, "No," that I had made arrangements to make my payment tomorrow by 1:30 p.m. "Please call them." He said,"No," and that if I didn't give him the key he would destroy my van. And he did destroy my van, then charged me $325.00 for the repo. So I pay their ridiculous fees and go to get my van, only to find my windshield broken, one tire almost flat, and my van won't start because someone has purposefully broke the fuel lines connecting at the fuel tank.
Do not deal with TitleMax in Phoenix. But if you have and your car gets repo'ed you can go to Total Recovery Auction on 79th Ave. and Van Buren, and demand your car or truck. It is illegal for them to hold your car or truck ransom in lieu of payment. Just call the police, and since it's not a police impound they have to give you your car or truck back. I hope this helps somebody. And don't sign anything. They will try to get you to sign saying you are liable for the charges.

Like many others here I made the mistake of taking out a title loan from TitleMax. I had lost my job and was going through the grievance process, but needed extra funds to hold me over. I borrowed $3200 not realizing what I was getting myself into. The first 4 months I paid $500, which was about $100 over what my interest was. I was attempting to pay down the principal. I expected to pay it off with my income tax, but unfortunately due to that retarded 1095 A healthcare form my income tax go held up. So for the last 5 months I have been just paying $400 a month. So with the payment I'll be making today on my way home for work I will have paid a total of $4,400 on a $3200 loan, yet I still owe $3400 to get my title back!!! That's a total of $7,800 for a $3200 loan and that's only so far.
I have made the decision that I am going to borrow the $3400 from my credit union and pay it off. That way the payments I make on my loan will actually be towards paying it off and I don't have to worry about my car being repo'd if I fall a little behind. I wouldn't recommend anyone get a title loan over a couple hundred bucks, unless you absolutely have no other choice.

The only thing I can really say about TitleMax is that you have to read the fine print because the monthly fees will kill you if you only pay the minimum. I had a pretty decent experience with these folks at the Houston office. They did not call me to harass me or visit me. They simply told me that if I was late by even one day that they would repossess a vehicle. There was zero grace on this. Also comma they do not have normal hours. I have to work on the other side of town but I have to wait for them to open at 9 o'clock so I can pay my title loan. They do not accept credit cards only cash and I am responsible for going to the courthouse to have them removed from my title when this is done.
The amount of money that I had to pay to clear up the title loan is ridiculous. Do not do this no matter what the emergency is. You will regret it. Take a second mortgage, sell the junk out of your garage or sell your blood, but do not get a title loan on your vehicle. My husband was able to secure another job just days later, but it had caused us to fall 3 weeks behind on our payment. We kept in touch with the company and mailed our payment priority mail and called to give them the tracking number.
FOUR days later, 2 days after receiving the payment, our truck was repossessed. We were confused because we called the number on the tracking slip and they confirmed that the payment was definitely received by TitleMax, yet they still went ahead with the repo. The next day, we called TitleMax and the man we spoke to said that never should have happened and that he would call us back. The whole time we were dealing with them, the tow company was impossible to deal with. Finally, after many phone calls, the tow company called and told us there was a miscommunication and that they would return our truck when they had the chance. They refused to tell us their location so we could not pick it up ourselves. The truck has equipment on it that was used for my husband's job, so we ended up losing work/jobs because of this inconvenience caused by their "miscommunication".
Months later, we were 6 days late with our payment. Again, we kept in touch with TitleMax and let them know we would make our payment on a Saturday. We made the payment and again called them with the tracking number of the priority mail package. 3 days later, after they received the payment, again our truck was repossessed! I just don't understand why they keep repossessing the truck AFTER they receive the payment. Again, I can also track the mailed payment, and know that they have signed for and received the payment, yet they go ahead and put out the order to repo after they receive the payment! So, I end up having to not only pay the crazy high interest payments, but also the towing and storage fees, as well as time lost at work! How is this legal?

Noe ** (Thomas Road, Phoenix, Arizona branch) was our account manager. In my experience, he is nothing short of unethical with his aggressive, borderline threatening collection tactics. On one occasion, Mr. ** insisted he take my husband's debit card from him to take back to the store (without my husband present). On what planet is that reasonable? On another attempt, it is my belief that my sliding glass (front door) was damaged due to Mr. **'s aggressive knocking.
My door already had a small fracture in it caused by our monsoon season and in my opinion was further broken due to the vibration of Mr. **'s pounding. When I answered the door, I offered to make a partial payment in which I was denied. Mr. ** made no effort to cooperate in resolving the issue (which was to collect a debt I was attempting to pay). I concluded his visit was nothing more than a counterproductive scare tactic that resulted in damage to my home. Since Mr. **'s last visit, our account fortunately has been settled.
I've made numerous, unsuccessful attempts to contact corporate headquarters. The only managerial contact I've had is with a district manager who is both untruthful and unprofessional. With the outrageous interest rates, terms and conditions, this company should be ashamed of itself for not resolving the issue of property damage that they are responsible for. Title Max and similar companies continue to take advantage of the disadvantaged. This type of business only exists in low-income communities and happily perpetuates the cycle of poverty. They should be exposed for what they really are: Low Class Loan Sharks.

I have never dealt with people like this, calls every day. I guess they think you have nothing else on your mind but when you should make your payment. I would not deal with this company ever again and I would not have any of my friends go there. I would imagine the people that own this company trained their employees so they are the same way. I have nothing at all to say good about Title Max in Springfield Illinois.

A representative called to ask when I was coming in to make a payment, I told him by Friday. It was Tuesday already. Wednesday morning on my way to work my car was gone. They repo my car. As I begin to read the review they repo your car before the day you say you are coming in. The manager was nasty. In order for me to get my car a $700 loan went to a $1500 including tow fees for missing a payment. Now I have 21 days to get my car back or it will be sold. Please do something about this company.

My name is Melissa ** and I am a single mother of three children, one of which is disabled. Over the course of this past year I was diagnosed with Type 2 Bipolar Disorder, with hypomanic episodes, currently depressed along with osteoarthritis of the hip and lower back. With these two combined I have become disabled, so I currently live off a very tight budget. With that said I needed to take a loan out and I was backed into a corner with taking out a title loan. I have become late and was sent out a Right to Cure letter. The letter had a payment deadline of December 8, 2015. On December 1, 2015 I sent the payment requested in the letter via Western Union. It has been a very crazy 2 weeks here in our household and didn't even think about calling to make sure they got the payment. I used my account number on the Western Union website and made my payment.
On December 12, 2015, I went to leave for the store to find my car gone. Before calling the police I called the loan company, TitleMax of Columbia Missouri. They informed me that they needed to research my claim about my payment and stated that I needed to call them because they didn't know I sent a payment in. I've used Western Union Bill Pay for a long time and have NEVER encountered an issue like this. The company's website states that they conveniently accept Western Union payments and nothing stating to call after I paid. They researched the issue and noted that I paid on the 1st. They also told me because I didn't call them they are keeping my car as a repossession. This car is our family's livelihood, on top of taking myself to the doctors frequently I also need to transport my disabled son and my other three children to doctor's appointments.
I don't have immediate family here in Missouri and am very much alone with just my kids. I am disappointed that a company this size doesn't have their payment options more organized. There is only ONE corporate office in this company and someone had to set up the Western Union account meaning that someone must also receive notification when moneys are received. Everyone does, for one thing or another. I believe that my rights under the Missouri Statue 408.555.1 were violated. I paid the outstanding amount stated on the Right to Cure letter before the date given and they still repossessed my car. When TitleMax was aware a payment had already been made to their company, my car should have been RETURNED.
It's 2 weeks before Christmas with addition, I have to transport my disabled son to Denver to meet up with his active military father, who only sees his son 3 times a year. I have NO idea how I am going to get to the airport now and have no way to purchase groceries or pick up medications at this point. TitleMax has left our family in a very horrible situation as well as broken the law. I need someone to help me fight this company since they feel they are above the law.
