This dating site is both deceptive and fraudulent. They post members who are no longer active and when I contacted individuals on this site they no longer had accounts.. and these were members who supposedly sent me emails! I responded to an email that came from a member and it automatically activated my account and I was charged for a six month membership! When I contacted them they were not interested in helping me in any way! Luckily my credit card company was able to handle my dispute and credit the charge to my account! Beware of this dating site!

I signed up with Match.com four days ago. I have gotten plenty of e-mail responses. But on the e-mail response, if you want to look at their profile, it will send you to a page, that you have a very hard time (mostly never) finding their profile. Same thing if you want to e-mail them, you push the "email them" button, and it will send you to the same page that you are supposed to find their e-mail. On the chat with a rep. they are of no help, and calling them, you will be on hold for ten minutes, then the line goes dead. I have only been on the website for four days, and I was signed up for three months. The lady on the chat site said that she will disconnect the auto renewal, but will not give me my money back. So I called my bank, and disputed the charge.

Too many people have already said it. I'm going to go out and burn $80.00 in my driveway. At least it will be more entertaining than wading through 100s of scammers and fakes everyday. MATCH KNOWS THIS and will NOT Refund a DIME!! I cannot even waste another minute with this...constant flood of scammers trying to chat, trying to fish for my cell number. I am just here to join the list of people who WILL OPENLY AND PUBLICLY participate in ANY legal action against this crooked company.

They promote the free 6 month renewal if you are active and contact at least a set number of people each month. I did that and after my membership expired after 6 months and one day, they rebilled me. They said I had to apply before 6 months period ended to satisfy the free six months deal. So I said, "Forget the free six months. Just cancel my subscription." They said, "Too late. You are responsible for new 6 month automatic renewal." They were rude and I was really annoyed. Forget the advertising. They stink. Also on phone a woman came up as a mutual "like." I emailed and said, "Are we mutual 'like'?" She said, "No." Match plays games and lies and is deceptive. Don't use them. There are a million other sites that are better.

First of all, I never write reviews, I was so upset with this company's way of resolving my issue (or lack thereof), I almost lost it on the phone and I am a pretty calm person. Long story short, signed up for the 7-day free trial (it has an automatic renewal to a 6-month subscription). But it also states that if you don't want to go forward with the 6 month, cancel before your 7 days up. I absolutely 110% did this. I even saw on the screen after I cancelled the option and it says, "Thank you for using our free 7-day trial. You will not be charged on your credit card." I should have gotten a screen shot. Lo and behold, I saw a charge of $119 on the 8th day. I was so confused. I called the next day and they said they don't offer refunds and have no record of my cancellation, which is absolute hogwash. Awful customer service by the way, even by the supervisors.
I then did a Match.com review search and apparently a TON of people have issues with this. Like a ton! Bottom line, while the service itself is okay (I will admit that), the company's billing policy along with its auto-renew and refund policy is 100% garbage -- no joke. Not just from my experience, but what I have read from other online negative reviews (and they are high in number). Dating apps like OkCupid and Coffee Meets Bagel are way better anyway. There is nothing special about Match and the fact that they intend to screw you over and even lie about it on the phone, breaks my soul to give them $119 dollars. Run from this company and don't look back. They are liars and scam artists.

The same members are repeatedly given as daily matches... Even after you repeatedly check the box that you are not interested. Tried to obtain a refund on the unused portion of the membership (purchased 3 months) and was told there was not an option to refund. The contract states you only have 24 hours to cancel after signing up. So even if you only use a week and a half, you have to pay for the entire 3 month block.

I am really surprised by all the negative reviews of Match.com. I think people with positive reviews do not post on this site. First, I want to say, I know of several people who have met their spouses on Match.com. I met my ex-boyfriend on Match. We dated for 8 years. We are still friends. Over time (I have never been married), I have Cancelled/Renewed my subscription with Match. I have never had a problem cancelling. Also, I always press the button that cancels auto renew, or I cancel right before my subscription is about to renew. Customer service has always been helpful.
Overall I think Match.com is the best dating site out there. I am in my 50's and the only negative thing I can say about Match.com is some of the men are players and they are looking for the young stuff! I think Match has good quality men. I have met nice, professional men. You have to look good and have good qualifications in order to attract quality men. I am attractive, very well traveled, slim, no baggage, and have a master's degree. I do not respond to men with tank tops, baseball caps, beer guts, and uneducated. Not what I am looking for! I think men feel the same way.

I joined Match.com for a month and have been very disappointed. I use the mobile app and the functionality is horrible. Unlike other sites that are integrated with email Match does not allow you to click on a daily email to view a profile. It's extremely frustrating considering that free dating sites offer this basic functionality. Also the email system and app are not integrated. I received an email saying daily matches but they don't show up on the app. No clue what the desktop version is like but the mobile app stinks.

I first suspended my account with them, and then cancelled my subscription. Despite getting a confirmation email from them to say it was cancelled, they continued to take money out of my account. After emailing my complaint, they again said that my account was cancelled... and yet they continue to take money from my account. To date they now owe me £100. Such a shame they let themselves down.

Match.com terminated my account for no reason, customer support won't even tell you why. They claimed I was not single (which is false). I called them, they explained everything is fine and then STOLE MY MONEY, $89.96. They will not return the funds so I'm in dispute right now with my credit card. My account was only active for about 10 days so either I should be prorated or fully refunded.
For anyone thinking about signing up for Match.com think again. This is the worst site as it's full of hackers with false account yet they go after me, one of the good ones. You will see numerous complaints of people saying their account was hacked into, and also Match.com terminates your account at any time with no refund. MATCH.COM SHOULD BE SANCTIONED BY THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU but yet they are not technically registered with the BBB.org. You obviously know why, as they practice unscrupulous business practices. Don't take my word for it, just scroll this website and see all the awful stories. Buyer beware. Best of luck.

I guess I've had 2 accounts over the years. Recently I started getting match emails and likes and whatever. I went and logged into these accounts, and the profile information on them had been modified slightly and false pictures uploaded. I changed the passwords and disabled the accounts but the emails continue. So the accounts were not "hacked", someone internally has access to them.
My guess is that Match.com took old zombied accounts, modified them a little, such as my age and interests, and put them in their rotation of matching scamming/baiting. They also replaced the images with some random dude in a suit and I apparently make +$150,000 a year and own a business. Half of my profile is the same specifically the geographic location. What are the odds of someone all of a sudden living in a suburb you used to in the US, with the same username? This didn't happen. It was deliberate and obviously manipulated by Match.com. Customer service hasn't even bothered to email me back.

Do NOT use Match.com. The Problem: The Customer Service ignores your complaints. They have a system that almost guarantees problems and they do not correct their own mistakes. The Specific Issues: 1) I emailed some women and when could not verify if they actually read or just opened my email or possibly were unable to reply, I wrote them 2 more times with very nice emails. One woman claimed I was harassing her because she said she had replied, "No Thanks." That NEVER showed up in my Match.com Inbox. As it turns out Match.com does not send the "No Thanks" emails to my Match.com Inbox. They send it to my Junk Mail email address that I obviously do not check often. Match therefore has set up a system to guarantee misunderstanding and confusion.
After realizing this, I am very sympathetic with the woman who thought I had already known she is not interested. Match.com CLOSED my account and kept my MONEY and never responded to the issue. Match.com only sent me a generic email repeatedly when I very nicely explained the misunderstanding and asked them to send the "No Thank You" emails to our MATCH.com Inbox. I hope you read my complaint in full. Match.com is using people by creating a system where we cannot communicate with each other effectively, then when one person complains, they take punitive action.
2) I also had apparently had a typo on my birthdate and was off by 2 years. Some thought I was older than my age. I am sorry, so I look older than my age!!! I voluntarily told Match.com and corrected the error. Those are the only reasons they could have cancelled my account and kept 3 months worth of service. I had only been using it for a week. They did not reinstate my account, have refused to send nothing but generic emails telling me they will not disclose information unless I send them a SUBPOENA for it. But I NEVER asked them to disclose the details. I ONLY made a REASONABLE REQUEST to have my account reinstated.
Again nothing but a generic email in return after I sent them several explaining the above. In conclusion, I hope this is clear. Match.com is playing with people's hearts, emotions, hopes and dreams, taking your money without admitting their error. Go to ANY OTHER DATING SITE. NEVER USE MATCH. DO NOT BE SEDUCED BY MATCH'S SMILING HAPPY COMMERCIALS. The experience is deceptive, saddening, greatly disappointing and leaves you helpless and powerless to remedy the your loss.

I believe this is a big group of liars! They need to be investigated. I have had no one even try to respond to my advertisement until the time is up and the policy is ready to renew, then I get lots of contacts but no one actually follows through to meet. I believe it is a scam to extract money only! I am a very nice looking professional, much younger looking than my age and I believe Match.com as well as other dating sites are all a scam and people should not waste their money in hopes of meeting someone who does not exist.

On April 24, I canceled my Match.com subscription and auto renewal. All services ended on May 12. On May 20, I received an email confirmation for my new subscription (surprise!). I immediately logged into my Match.com account, and lo and behold, my account had been signed up for a new 3-month subscription (not an auto renewal) using my credit card. I contacted Customer Service asking for 1) a password reset and 2) an immediate refund.
Before even confirming what they were about to do, I was told that my account had been blocked, meaning that I'd NEVER be able to login or use it again, and I'd never be able to use my credit card on the website ever again either because this was clearly a fraudulent charge and not an error on their end. Now let me ask you, in what world does a credit card thief use it to buy yourself a new subscription??? They refused to simply do a password reset and said it was too late. I was then talked down to in a belittling matter and transferred to corporate.
Dealing with corporate has been just as awful. 8 years worth of on-again, off-again service, profile content and matches down the drain. This is the completely unacceptable response I got from them about even retrieving my profile: "If you wish to obtain additional information, a valid subpoena, search warrant, or court order directed to Match.com is required." I will never spend another dime on Match.com.

Manhattan/NYC Experience: There are at least 1000 attractive women who walk around Manhattan, or downtown Manhattan on each streets each night. I joined Match.com because I was always working and never had the time to meet anyone outside. So I joined, being that it's New York City I should have gotten at least few responses daily, being that there are ton of women who are signed up but I only got 1 response from some ok looking young female from the upper west side.
The entire process was really slow, I'm not a supermodel but I'm def handsome and have told by many women. There was no likes, no interest, I emailed various women and tried getting dates. Some of them didn't even open the message, the most they'll do is visit my page and never return my messages and act like ghosts. It made me feel ugly like a loser then I finally got a date from Match. I suddenly saw a message from this girl, I was shocked to see that the girl was decent in the face (all face pics) but had a gigantic **, it was bigger than my head, ** or any parts put together which was a deal breaker.
Richmond, VA Experience: Richmond experience is where Match got caught. There aren't a lot of single girls in the Richmond area, so they had ton of women, not to mention, my zip code covers a small area range and I couldn't believe all these women were from my area. My area is Richmond/Willow and I've never even see any of those girls in any store, not that I will, it's not country that I'll run into them.
Total ripoff; none of these girls look like that around here, they're either overweight or don't take care of themselves. There are hotties but very few. Most of the attractive girls are in the fan/vcu area zip. I never got any response, just likes and winks and who gives a ** about them. I don't think these profiles are real; these attractive girls they show on here look like they're from a beach town in California and they'd never look like that for sure. Scam. To make it real, they have few real people, but these people are not going to get you excited about a date but very average to make this whole operation look legit.

I signed up on Match.com on May 8, 2015. Within 1 hour a match for me contacted me on chat then asked for my cell number, which I gave (so I could also check them out on reverse phone) and the account on Match for them disappeared and he was relentless on contacting me on cell with text. He said he was widowed for 2 years and he lived in Florida.. I am in Va. I told him it was too far to date, what did he actually think how this would progress. Second, another match - this guy also wanted my cell phone number said he lived in Washington DC but the number he contacted me with was from Washington state. He said he travels and is a wholesaler and an archaeologist. He said he was going to Africa the next day so we couldn't meet for awhile.. the wait intensifies the actual meeting.. what **!
I said DC was not far me. He also said he was a widower! Anyway, his account has immediately disappeared and he made up stories, he couldn't use the chat online. THIS IS HOW SCAMMERS start I have found out. My problem: I can't report the person because they already DELETE their account and you CAN'T REPORT ACTIVITY!! This is the first time I have ever paid for an online dating site. My first experience was not good, and it was most likely my fault. But I think you should screen the people you let on this site and make it safer for everyone. I got a lovely reply to my profile from a man by the name **. Anyway I did something that you probably don't recommend and that was to give my personal email and phone number out. This isn't a complaint, but a warning about what goes on, on your site. This guy was so nice and sucked me in and I was suspicious about it and should have listened to my gut feeling. Anyway after sharing pictures, emails, and texts from an area code close to where I live for a couple of weeks, he said he had to suddenly had to fly to Cape Town South Africa, then called two days later, and said he was in Cape Town now.
He then said that his daughters luggage was lost or stolen and asked me to send him a gift card. I didn't do it because I figured it had to be a scam because I had never met him. There are other men out there in Cape Town South Africa that are doing the same thing to women but can't have the person kicked off the site because they take their profile down right away so a woman can't go back to look at it. It's a common scam that happens in Cape Town because there is no regulation. I am very untrusting of some of the people on your site. Plus I really haven't had any luck with getting dates yet. If I don't get any dates soon, I am going to cancel.

When I sent the email, a window popped up that told me to contact customer service which operates from 8 am to 5 pm. When I called customer service, the CSR told me that all she could do is turn off the automatic renewal that since it was over 24 hrs that the purchase was made I couldn't get a refund. I explained that I had not used the service that as soon as I realized the purchase was made that I logged out. I didn't read any emails or search profiles. I also explained that I did send an email within 24 hours about cancelling the service and I was told to call. The CSR said she couldn't do anything.
I asked to speak to a supervisor. The CSR quickly told me that a supervisor would tell me the same thing. I told her that I would still like to speak to a supervisor. The CSR put me on hold and after a minute or so got back on the line and said the supervisors were busy and she could schedule a call back. I declined the call back and said I would wait for a supervisor. A supervisor by the name of ** got on the line. He said that under no circumstances does Match give a refund and that I should have read the policy before I made the purchase. I explained to him again that I did not intended to make the purchase.
He told me that the app didn't have a place for a coupon and the purchase was a valid purchase. He told me I could either use the service since I purchased it or not use it but it was my choice. After that call, I also wrote customer service and did not get a response. The purchase was accidently made April 20, 2015 and to this day I have not logged in or looked at an email. So a month into sub and then one I email thru the site asks for my email, without looking at my profile "busy at work but will email you later" *alarm bells* I play along… "I buy gems in Turkey and sell in Ohio, but live in England near you." "I’ll be back in England in 10 days" more alarm bells.
3 days later after sending me more pics and a lot of emotional emails that I had done nothing to trigger such a response for "she" says there’s a problem and they want to charge her another 5% (1100 euro) and asked if I can "borrow" it to her. So I play along some more, ask how I would send the money and it asks me to moneygram to the name "she" has been using to email me. I said “I can’t do that, I can’t comfortably go outside so going to post office isn’t gonna happen”. If "she" paid any attention to what I had said, would of known that.
So it then gives me bank details for "the manager of the shipping company", a bank in Turkey… but funny thing is I checked her email IP's.. all of them came from Washington, Redmond when she told me she was in Turkey. As I can’t go out or pursue this I would be grateful if someone who reads this can. I gave the 1st half of these details to match.com already and got a uninterested "we keep scammers out" answer. I cancelled online but they keep the entire 6 months payment. There is a way to get a refund but DON'T USE PAYPAL. If you use a credit card they MIGHT refund you but it will take a while. I am still waiting to find out whether I can get a PayPal refund.

I was initially excited to join Match. There are a mixture of good and bad profiles just like other dating sites. Luckily I haven't had a problem with fake profiles. My problem is with their auto renewal. I believed I had cancelled my subscription successfully but this wasn't the case and I was automatically renewed. After several emails and calls, no refund will be issued. The thing no one could answer was why for the last few months, my subscription said it was due to end in April but underneath that there was a note saying 'restore previous subscription'. Now this implied I had cancelled successfully but it turns out I hadn't. No advisor could answer why this happened, all I was told was that they hadn't seen it before. Still no refund though. Feel quite misled and now I've paid to be on it for another 6 months. Be aware if you're on Match - make sure you've cancelled the auto-renew properly if you don't want to renew!

This site is rife with scammers, spammers, and sexist moderators. The mods are completely un-uniform about what gets approved (Some let people post proper names either in the profile or as a username, but some don't. Don't bet on it if you're a guy!). Match decides what content you are allowed to post about YOURSELF, even if you opt for the premium fees, which they piece-meal the heck out of. Oh you want to read the email you just received? $35.00/mo. Oh you want to know if they read your email to them? $3/mo. Oh you want to be a browsing ninja? $3/mo. Hey, you want we should stick ya profile on a pedestal? $10 for 20 peak browsing periods.
You may as well forget setting travel thresholds or indicating specific markers too. Because Match will throw ANYONE into your Daily Match selections. Seriously, I would LOVE, to the point of wasting a wish on it if it were guaranteed to come true, to have a member of Match come to my home, stand next to the projector screen where I throw Matches alleged algorithm upchucks onto the screen and yell "THAT!!! You people see me with THAT!?!?! Explain it to me!!! NO! YOU DON'T GET TO GO HOME UNTIL YOU EXPLAIN THEM ALL TO ME!"
Match.com isn't interested in what it allegedly markets, and fails greatly to provide matches because of its fee-based features. Do yourself a favor and opt for a free site. It may seem akin to what Match provides but the exorbitant monthly fee coupled with their offer if you cancel ("Hey don't go! We only made you pay for a month to prove we'll fail you. How about we fail you for three month's for the price of one?) makes this a site run by sadists reaching out to masochists. Smell the disappointment. Let it permeate your frontal lobe, move on and find someone somewhere else, anywhere else, but Match. Let it die people.

This is not my first experience with Match, but it will probably be the last. Fifth day of my membership, and despite the parameters I set with regard to age, geographical location, body type, etc., I receive 'Matches' from all over the country, far too young, totally overweight; the list goes on and on. My ickiest Match so far (someone THEY picked for me) lists the following under his 'What I like to do' heading: **. WTH??
Far more problematic is the number of scammers who 'Wink' or 'Like' my photo. Every single one has been model material (and I know better than to think I'll be hearing from those kind of guys), and when you click on "View their profile", either it's not there at all, or it's a lengthy dissertation about how they're from some foreign country, they're widowed, distance is not object when true love is all that matters, blah, blah, blah.
Match seems unwilling or unable to keep up with the number of criminals fishing for lonely people who are so desperate for attention that they'll send money to this fictional folks. As for me, I'm just thoroughly disgusted that I wasted any disposable income on Match. They're a scam too.

I signed in on Match trying to do for the minimum period of time, but the website somehow switched my choice to a 6 months subscription before I would realize. I called the Customer Care, but they wouldn't pick up forever. They never replied to my email inquiries. One week later, I got fed up with their unattractive service. I asked to reimburse my subscription with explaining what happened and that I tried to communicate with them in the beginning. A service representative would just repeat the manual, "you don't qualify for reimbursement". He wasn't able to explain what was wrong with their sites menu. After putting me on hold forever again, I finally talked with the manager, who would copy the same thing. They have no intention to support or satisfy customers.
If you do not need the service but are FORCED to SUBSCRIBE, they should at least provide downgrading the service to a minimum. They stole my money for a forcible service by making their menu so sneaky. I am new to an online dating service anyway, but I only saw Match was most reputable before reading. Now I came to find these negative reviews and wonder if Match has been funding for those reviews that would appear on leading search results. Please do not make the same mistake as I did. By the way, the reason their service was not attractive at all to me was that so many uninteresting older people contacted me. I seem to have been a fishing scam for them, according to other users here. Even if I stated my preferred age, there seemed to have been very few matching men in my area. I called to voice the concern and they said they would not look up his name or account, they couldn't block him from me and all they would do is cancel my subscription, without even a partial refund. After building my profile, I was immediately inundated with responses. Great, right? Upon closer examination, I noticed all were from almost exclusively 29 year olds (I am 51) and extremely attractive as though photos of models lifted from the internet. Always one photo per girl and very limited and contrived profile. Definitely a phishing scam. As I searched for real singles in my area, I eventually realized after reviewing about 50 profiles of women in my area that was all they had. The wording is "I love poetry, books, walks on the beach and cozy candlelight dinners. I enjoy movies, television, music, traveling, the desert, the quietness of the mountains, the ocean, sunrises and sunsets." Then they try to talk you into sending them money. Total scumbags trying to take advantage of vulnerable women.
Their lies are literally unbelievable, one said he was a peacekeeper in Afghanistan and the other said he was in New York. I contacted Match. Match said my account had suspicious activity. I asked if it had been hacked and if my account information had been taken. Match would not say what happened to the account just 'suspicious activity'. I gave Match information to unlock my account. NOT RENEW IT. Auto renewal should have remained turned off.
My subscription should have been turned off in April 2015. I was SURPRISED to see my bank account had been debited another six months by Match. I called to complain and get my money back, but Match said I had renewed my account in Feb 2015. I tried to explain that I would not have renewed in Feb if the account wasn't going to expire until April. I told them that the only contact I had with Match in Feb was finding out and correcting the lock. NOT RENEWAL.
Now I have to go to my bank to get a credit on my account. I will also contact the BBB and Match corporate offices of IAC which owns several websites. About six weeks ago I received an email from Match.com saying my 'profile had been approved' for their site. I had not contacted them nor set up an account or profile. I sent them an email saying I had not given any info and had not attempted to make a profile. I tried going on the public side of their site and contacting a Consumer agent (either through chat or email); all attempts to contact were futile (either there was no response, I was rerouted to a previous page or I got a generic cookie-cutter response).
Next I started getting multiple emails about (supposedly) men trying to contact "me" through this bogus profile. Emails saying, "He wants to see what you look like!", "He emailed you!" and "You have 24 new matches!" Worse, I got emails asserting that "I" had expressed interest in a certain gentleman! I went through their procedure for stopping the emails twice. It hasn't worked either time. I am still getting them.
I realize that when I signed onto the OurTime site, I agreed to Match.com's terms and conditions that said they could use my info on their sites but it bothers me that they would use it to make a false profile to hopefully get money from me and to get money from men thinking they are contacting a real person. I have also been using okCupid and POF and have made some seriously deep connections with women in less than a week. Are there scammers there... of course. But not 100% of the time as on Match.com. Boycott this site. And if there is ever a class action suit to purge their old user database, sign me up. It terrifies me that they still have all the personal information that I entered into my profile. Don't do it!!!

I signed up on Match.com for three months thinking it might be a good site to meet people to date. Boy, was I wrong! I would say at least 50% of the profiles on Match are scammers... actually criminals that are there to steal money from innocent people. You can tell they are scammers because they send personal email/phone numbers in the first email and often say "they don't come to the site often."
Now, I am in the technology sector and know how to trace an IP address or spot a proxy server. Match, with its millions of dollars and years in the tech business seems incapable of running these simple checks on profiles. My conclusion about this is that they don't care; Match is happy to accept the money of known criminals and they don't give a flip about honest consumers. I would suggest not wasting a dime on Match, but if you do don't ever give personal information to anyone who contacts you from the money-grabbing scammer site.

I joined Match honestly looking for friendship, relationship, or more. I clearly understood if I signed up for one month at a time that I needed to cancel my membership by a certain date if I did not want an auto renewal. I'm very cognizant of that requirement. I cancelled my membership when I realized if you read my profile and were responding to me, you were either dumb or unable to read or just didn't care. I cancelled my membership within the time frame they required. I didn't receive any further contacts after I filled out the questionnaire asking why I cancelled until...suddenly when my membership was due to be renewed I started receiving new emails!! WTF???
I went back on the site and cancelled again and made my profile private. THESE SCAM ARTISTS CHARGED MY CREDIT CARD AGAIN!!! I WILL GO TO HELL AND BACK TO LET PEOPLE KNOW WHAT CHEATERS THIS SITE IS!! It's not the money....it's the principle of the thing!! Do not join this site! They send you fake profiles and contact information!!!
Updated on 05/29/2015: Do NOT, I repeat DO NOT sign up for this site. I signed up and you are required to authorize auto renewal. Of course they tell you at any time you may turn it off. I turned off my profile and cancelled my membership when I was receiving fake profiles. They charged my credit card again when the renewal was due. I had no communications with anyone for months because my profile was turned off, then suddenly they turned it back on!! That was my clue something was phony.
I again cancelled my membership and turned off my profile. The TRICK they play is this: you need to click cancel membership numerous times on different pages. Otherwise you will be billed again and again!! RUN from this site! I will go to the news media if I need to so they don't do this to others. I finally received confirmation of my cancellation after they just charged my card again. This only because I realized their trick of requiring you to click cancel membership numerous times on different pages!!

I was trying to repair my relationship with my girlfriend by staying off Match.com knowing she would check periodically check to see if I was searching for others on their site. After not being on their site for over 3 weeks the notation on my profile stated, "active over 3 weeks". All of a sudden she went to check my profile and it showed that I was "online now". That was the furthest from the truth. I hadn't been on their site for over 3 weeks and Match had the nerve to say I was " online now".
Needless to say my relationship, which was going smoothly because, among others, of my inactivity on that site, totally went down the drain. As much as I professed my innocence with my girlfriend she didn't believe me because of what she witnessed on that site that I was "online now". I am now considering legal action against Match because, quite frankly, their inability of providing true facts can ruin a relationship instead of creating a new one.

Paid for 6 months on match.com. Put a lot of attention to a solid profile and sent out 40 messages first month. Zero response. Tried a couple new photos and different profile write-ups over rest of time. Six months gone - about 125 messages sent only to ladies that I fit into their age range and other musts without talking to one person. I also paid for one of their speed dating events. There were 9 ladies & about 11 guys there which three women disappeared before it started. My impression was two of the ladies were there to meet someone - the others were more interested in their phones or talking to each other
To match.com's credit - I requested their 6 month guarantee and they gave me a free 6 months. So I tried sending 65 generic messages out (previously I would mention things in their profile). One response but never responded when I wrote back. I just can't believe that almost 200 woman who supposedly paid money to meet someone wouldn't at least respond (at least to be polite to say no thanks). I question if there are really any female profiles that paid for a subscription.

I made the mistake of joining Match.com and within minutes of posting my profile, was contacted by an imposter. Of course, I didn't realize it was an imposter at first. It took about an hour for me to figure it out based on the inconsistencies in stories and the broken english. It was then that I took the photos and did a Google Image Search having a recollection of a DR. Phil Episode I saw where I thought I remembered that picture. Sure enough, it led me to several love scam websites. I was pretty upset and thought what an odd coincidence that my first night I would encounter this monstrosity, and then I was approached by two additional users that had also encouraged me to provide a cell phone number or private email address to chat off the Match Website. Again, I performed a Google Image Search and again, those pictures led me right to several love scam websites.
Scared half to death, I immediately reported the users as imposters and took my profile and placed it in hiding. I also sent Match an email requesting a refund since I was not able to use the site as intended while still feeling safe. They never responded. Still within one week, I finally found a contact number for them. Phone Number 800-326-5161 and called to request a refund. Of course, they held true to their policy of no refunds and after an hour long, painful phone conversation, I walked away with nothing more than an address for the Corporate Office. No phone number, no refund! To make matters worse, although they will not refund my money, they feel they have the right to censor my profile and prevent me from posting anything that indicates my experience warning women to beware.
I regret joining Match.com and would rather be alone the rest of my life than to have to endure another experience such as this one. I find it interesting that they put more effort into censorship of my profile than of those who are the perpetrators. I wrote Dr. Phil and hope that someone with power will stop this company from their deceitful business practices. At this point, I can't tell you who I feel more violated from, the men who tried to scam me or the biggest scam of all Match.com. I would warn all women to be very careful and make sure that you do your homework when dealing with men on Match. Even more than that, I would suggest not joining in the first place.

The problem with Match.com is that there is no way to tell if someone is a PAID subscriber. SO, if you sign up for the service and email someone, you do not know if they are a paid subscriber. If not they can not see your email or email you back. There is no way of knowing if someone just isn't interested or if they just haven't paid for the service. It's a complete waste of time emailing people that you do not even know if they can email you back.
Once you subscribe you can PAY EXTRA to see if someone read your email or PAY EXTRA to make sure they see your email. If you don't want your profile seen by everybody except the people you want to communicate with then you can PAY EXTRA. This is not fair, you should be able to limit who sees your profile without having to pay extra. They get you to sign up and then you have to pay fees for anything extra. I also think there are a lot of fake profiles and it's just a money making operation. I do not know of anyone who has been successful with finding a match with this site.

Many hundreds of stolen pictures when you search google images by photo ID-- many names pop up for other false profiles, or photos taken off the web. It's a sad excuse for a dating site. So many men show "widower" when that's a lie as well, the profiles are fake. Take a second and look at some of them, read the same themes in all and poor grammar, a dead giveaway of someone not familiar with how Americans speak and write. Don't waste your money or time. The profiles are reported as fraudulent and they disappear pretty fast after they realize that someone is on to them.

They all ended up asking for money which I would not pay. I didn't wait for one of them to ask me for money and he is still phoning me for 3 weeks now from England and sometimes Texas. Match.com should be more scrutinizing in the profiles they accept. Their verification process should be mandatory. Based on my experience, I truly believe that this website is nothing but a front for a scam operation and they should not be allowed to operate.
All of the advertising that they do is just a bunch of hype as far as I'm concerned, and I have no hope that anything good will ever come from my 6 month membership fee. Also, you'll notice that they don't give you any type of customer service line to call so you can get your membership fee back or give you a name of anyone to address your complaints to. That should have been my first red flag. I will never do this again. If you are one of the many people out there who really would like to find a nice companion or friend or romantic connection, this isn't the place to do it. Match.com is the biggest money stealing scam I have ever seen in my life. I even have been more than tolerant, giving it more than one chance just to completely sure if it was a scam or not. I have actually tried the site out about 3 times over the period of about 4 years so I have paid over 3 times the monthly subscription price. The site is a scam because it's full of "fake" women profiles that all write the same descriptions with the same format. When you communicate to them by email, they ask the numerous questions which are all basically the same and don't reveal anything about themselves.
THE biggest reason it's a scam though is because all the women that I communicated with which was about 15 in 7 days this most recent time all either asked for my number right away and were clear only for text in their message or they gave me theirs but again, clearly stating only for text. None wanted to talk over the phone which seems to me very suspicious as well or when I did call, they wouldn't call back but would text back. These were not young 18 to 21-year-olds as well. These were 25 to 40-year-old women.
It was very clear it's all a scam. I can't imagine scammers paying a monthly subscription to try and collect personal information to commit fraud or anything like that but it's possible. What I can see though is Match.com putting put up fake profiles on its own site to entice men to join their site and keep paying the monthly subscription. Do not join this site. It is a complete scam. If there is one business that legally can scam people out of money every day, this is it and Match.com knows this. Bravo to Match.com, the biggest legal money stealing business there is. You have found a business that can scam people out of money every day without any consequences to you.
I take the time to write this because I paid money for this site and I get a scam in return. If the site was free, then I wouldn't complain about the fake profiles and scam because I didn't spend any money. I would just deal with the wasted time I spent. But when I pay for something based on what you are saying you can offer and it's a scam or fraud, a company should not profit from this and should be shut down. There needs to be some type of law that for any online dating site that requires customers to pay a subscription, that an identity verification process from a THIRD PARTY needs to be done. Only profiles that are verified through this third party verification process can be posted. A unique link on the profile can be posted that links to the third party site that states verified. Again this is only for online dating sites that operate on a monthly paid subscription services from customers.
Match.com would obviously object to this at first but if they really think about it, if they advertise in their commercials that all their posted profiles are verified and real people, then that would allow a potential buyer to feel more comfortable on not thinking it's a scam. The main point though is this needs to be done for the consumer because the way it is now is a scam. Match.com is making a fortune with no legal repercussions from this fraud business.

These are the exact same guys who are on plentyoffish.com, a free dating site. Really, try match's free trial and try plenty of fish. They are the same losers I saw five years ago on plenty of fish, nobody wants them! Any new ones I saw I just asked them their first and last name and looked them up on Missouri's court records or used Jackson County's personal property tax website. Googling them works sometimes too. They are lying about their incomes, their homes, their marital status (they're married) they are felons, drunk drivers, women beaters, the doctors are malpractioners. If you go out with them they are grabby, insulting, immature, unpleasant in many ways. Really, if they were that great do you think their ex-wives would have let them go?

I signed up for Match.com last Friday (5 days ago). I spent a couple of hours setting up my profile and uploading photos. I was a little upset I had to wait for my photos to be approved but it was not a big deal. I woke up Saturday morning and my photos were still not approved. I waited till Monday thinking (even though it was ridiculous for a pay service) that maybe they don't work on the weekends. Well you can guess where this is going.... Here we are Wednesday… not 5 days since I signed up and my pictures are STILL NOT APPROVED! The Android app is constantly crashing or doing other buggy things, and from what I’ve read after the fact, you're lucky to find real paying people on the site that you can actually communicate with.
I have done absolutely nothing but like a couple of girl's profiles (not sent or received a single message) yet when I called them today to get a refund they refused and said they don't offer refunds because it’s in the contract. Even though in the contract they are stating the service they are providing, which they have not provided to me. The only option the supervisor gave me was to send a written letter to their corporate office which I am going to do today. I have never felt so used and scammed with what I thought was a reputable company in my entire life. I am going to post this review on every single website, facebook, send copies to news outlets. I am going to do anything and everything I can to make sure everyone know the type of service they are providing.

My problem (and others too) is the renewal process that takes place. Your account will be automatically renewed because they have your CC info. If you're not diligent about going into your setting and checking, you will lose. Just after sending an email to a member, I looked at my bank account and saw that they withdrew $72.00. I immediately called customer service and spoke to three different people. The 3rd was the highest I could go (escalation dept.). Because I sent ONE email after the 3-month renewal occurred, it was "impossible" to cancel and get a refund. I called within 24 hours! To be fair, if you call within 48 hours of the renewal and hadn't used the service, they may give you a refund.
Regardless, after 30 minutes on the phone, I was stuck for 3 more months. If you're considering joining Match, research first! There are many fake accounts. Pictures aren't always accurate, and most people are either unrealistic about what results they will get, or many people (both sexes) are looking for one thing only. If that is you, just do Tinder... no cost, no obligation. I believe most Match members would not renew if they were given a warning email about the renewal. Hence, they make millions.

I don't want them to have my CC number. No answer from CS.... other than I was placed on security alert and was told my money was being refunded. I suppose that is lucky for me. I however did not want to renew my membership. A few days after my membership expired I noticed a further three-month membership had been charged to my account. When I checked match.com it does state "surprised that your membership was renewed?" The fact that this is stated on their website proves that I am not the first person that this has happened to. I never received any notification via email from match that my membership was about to be re-charged. If I had I would have canceled.
I contacted the customer service department and they just spouted standard answers to my questions. They were extremely rude and said I could write in a letter. Which I did. After a couple of weeks I had not heard from match.com so I contacted customer service again. To be told that I would not receive an answer to the letter. I asked why was I directed to send a letter and they just ignored my question.
The customer service I received was by far the WORST I have ever experienced. I spoke to four staff all together over the phone and web chat and all were very rude and not personal in any way. What I have noticed is this: match.com allows you to sign up, fill in a profile etc for free and then allows others to send you an "email" via their site of those supposedly interested in you. Well what they do not tell you is most people on match.com are not paying subscribers and you have to have a paid subscription in order to read an email. So it entices you to pay for it so you can read an email but the person at the other end cannot read your reply. In other words the system is set up to bait you into paying then does a switch not disclosing this. So you have all these profiles on there which are not valid or not paying subscribers so in actuality you cannot talk to one another. Now I am stuck with 3 months and they will not refund because I had "replied" to a phantom sent to me.
This is bad business practices and should be illegal the way they steal from you. I would like to know how many people are actually subscribers? I would gather it is only 10% of the total amount of folks on there. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. BOYCOTT THEM. TOTALLY FAKE.

It all started failing around 2 weeks ago. Bought "undercover" - as I had done many times - and looked at (and favorited) profiles which, afterward, stated "they can see you." The last straw was going online tonight while my profile was in "hidden" mode - where, supposedly, no one can see you and you don't come up in searches.
Well, someone had viewed me. I sent them multiple e-mails twice about the undercover issue a week ago. No response. Being paranoid (it feels like either a staff member is messing with me, someone hacked my profile or their site is faulty), I immediately pulled my photos and canceled my subscription. So after seeing the commercials like 9000 times, I decided to sign up. I've tried POF and CUPID but wanted a more serious experience. I figured the high cost of the subscription ($43/month), would weed out the guys trolling for sex. Well, I guess I got my wish because after almost 600 views, I only have 6 "connections". Oh, and Match has this "top spot" scheme. You get it free for a certain amount of time, but then of course you have to pay to keep the top spot. Since I'm no longer in the top spot, I get about 2 views per day. Worst of all, I think that 95% of these guys are not subscribed and the other 5% of men (at least in Austin) have unrealistically high expectations of women because the men don't really want to commit anyway. With that being said, I'm an attractive woman. I'm no Halle Berry, but I clean up nice.
Now, I will admit that I'm in a tough dating market...Austin, TX. Couple that with the fact that I'm black and you can reduce my chances by like 75%, despite the fact that I don't exclusively date black men. My advice: even though the other free dating sites attract more of the "weirdos", the sites are still far better than Match. It's a numbers game. You have more opportunities to talk with more people. You just need to do a better job of filtering and making your boundaries known.

I had a horrible time trying to find a valid email address so I could cancel my account in writing.
I have continued to look at the site when I get emails. The large majority of my "matches" seem to be frauds, or men out looking for women to support them or whatever their intentions are I do not know. They pretend to be someone they are NOT, they even use a picture which is not theirs. Also my so-called matches are not matches. And half of the men they say are my matches do NOT even have a picture?? I would never contact anyone without a picture.
Does Match check to see if these people are real and who they say there are? I do NOT think so. This is NOT a match site, it is a RIPOFF site. They sell or share my pictures and info to other sites ie. Zoosk and Chemistry.com and who knows who else. Men try to contact me and I must join those sites as well if I am interested. My profile is still up and I have not been on the program for 2 or 3 months so that means people are trying to contact me and I can't contact them. If a person is not in the program or do not have a subscription their profile should be immediately deleted. I do not understand why my profile has not been deleted once my subscription was up. And I stopped paying for it.
My advice is do not pay good money to talk to people who are not even online. It's a scam. Would not credit even one month and the filters do not work it was getting ridiculous. Matches with people twice my age or twice under my age not within the parameters I set for ethnicity, height age hair color. Is just like random people showing up that they set a match with. More than half of them were completely not within the parameters I set from first first glance. Plus I got a emails from people who don't have pictures up and very scant profiles when I texted back to post a picture never heard back from them. It's just a scam. Don't waste your money. Rely on God.

Joined Match.com 1/29/15 for 3 months because that was the least months you could join, and like most of us, did not read the contract, and nobody does. I had joined this site just about 6 years ago and never had a problem and did meet someone, so I never thought it could have changed so badly. I agree with all the statements on here, I did not read them all, one thing I did not read was that anyone had the profile hacked into. I had mine hacked 6 times in 2 weeks, never had a notice sent to me to tell me what to do.
AS of today 2/13/15, I asked for a refund and like all the others, was told NO!!! Now this being said, if they hacked into your account on match that means (so Match told me) they have your password and that can mean big problems. They also said you need to scan your computer or whatever. Now what else do you need to check to see if they may have used your password someplace else, not likely but you surely should look into your bank account. Match says they cannot get that information, but since they lie so much how can you trust them. My bank is working with me to see if they can get some of my money back. I only want what's fair, just the remaining time I have left, not the time I was using the site.
The hacking Match knows about, and they tell you to go change your account. Well I'm not going through all the BS, now that I have read some of these complaints it gives me more to tell the bank and see what they have to say. My banks knows the contract by heart and their usual complaint is the AUTO PAY, they had never heard about the HACKING problem. I even told MATCH I would post something online, they said nothing, they are making lots of money even with all these posting. It's a sad site nowadays, it use to be good. SCAMMERS, FAKES and PEOPLE JUST HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO - THEY HACK INTO PEOPLE’S ACCOUNTS.
FORGOT, when they hack into your account ,they DELETE stuff and change setting, and it took me 3 days to find all the stuff they had hacked, and this happened 6 times. It only take one hacker to keep doing this unless you change your profile and scan your computer too for maybe a virus or something. PLEASE BE ADVISED TO STAY AWAY, YOU'LL GET NOTHING BUT A HEADACHE FROM MATCH.COM.

Signed on for Match.com - thought first there was a trial period but my card got billed for an entire year when after the trial I was under the impression it was $19.99 a month, not the whole year in one lump sum. When I called less than 24 hours after signing up, they told me since I used it - they could not refund me and there was no trial period. Very bad customer service and extremely misleading.

This website weasels you into buying a subscription and then you are unable to talk to anyone unless they purchase a subscription too. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR IT. THEY REFUSE A REFUND EVEN WHEN YOU REALIZE THAT THE MAJORITY OF USERS ON THIS SITE DON'T SUBSCRIBE AND YOU CAN'T TALK TO THEM. Unfortunately I was wanting to meet someone and I fell for the scam. I'm simply writing this so no one else does. I literally had the subscription for two days. Found like two people who had subscribed and neither I was all that interested in. I deleted the account and cancelled the subscription and they refused me a refund despite the fact that the site is useless unless everyone signs up for the subscription... and most don't.

Just to give you an idea of how sketchy my match.com experience was, I'm 29 years old and my internet review v card has now finally been taken. Yes that's right, it was so bad that I honestly feel like I was tricked and these people of making millions of dollars off exploiting good people. My only intentions are to help someone else not make the same mistake I did. If I spent 50 dollars fine whatever but no I spent $200.00 (for a year and of course it's strategically priced to spend more), and I don't know about you but I'm not to happy about getting burned for that much money especially knowing how many others are also doing the same.
They have commercials for Christ sake, it's blows my mind that such a sham has gone on to this degree. But before I go in to detail, I honestly don't care if you believe what I have to say or think. I'm just some ugly dude that had bad luck. Everything I'm about to say is fact. I have nothing to gain other than not allowing this to go on. If there was a match.com office around me believe me I would just go there instead of writing this long ass review only to hope someone actually reads it.
So first odd thing was prior to actually paying and I had the "free" account. You know the one where you can't respond to anyone but can see all these "likes," "winks" you receive. Well of course prior to paying my phone would go off constantly saying "you were winked at blah blah," and it went nuts. Even I was a little suspicious. Oh and for the record I probably couldn't be a calvin klein model but I would confidently say I'm a attractive guy and in good shape and never really had a hard time with woman.
So I get all this feedback and yeah I'm a idiot and thought "oh wow this is great, apparently there are women just like me out there" and I pulled the credit card out and joined! Well... once I joined I messaged every single girl who reached out to me (just keeping my options opens of course) but hmmmmmm oddly enough not 1 of those women responded back and some it even shows that they even "read" your message. I'm sitting here like wtf is that about? Ughhh don't message me or say you're interested? Oh and also remember how I said my phone-- how it was going nuts with all these likes and what not, it's was almost the exact day I joined it went to complete silence nothing nada.
Then my first night as a premium member I went hard at it. Just to insure all the bang for my buck and get the best of my options I did a 100 mile radius search (which is kinda unrealistic but I just wanted to see the responses I could get). So yeah I do 100 miles radius and it was probably 3000 woman. I looked at and yes I looked at all of them. Out those 3000 woman only 20 even seemed compatible with myself or a girl that shared similar background etc... I messaged all 20 of them, only 2 responded and the 1 girl (I don't even know why I messaged her, it was my fault) but she was def in the manipulative misleading pictures category and the other one was just not for me kinda boring bland.
So now I'm like wow now what lol? But luckily more new women were joining all the time. But the next 11 months was this... I got ignored constantly. It was so bad that I eventually got tired of taking the time to say some dumb witty thing and just stopped messaging all together. I figured I'll just send likes and if they actually care they will respond to a like.
Let me take this time to give you an actual idea of how bad it was number wise. Here are my actual statistics... I have been on for almost a year, I think it ends this month. So lets just say here are the numbers after 11 months... my profile has been viewed 3647 times, I've been winked at 12 times, I've received 14 photo likes. Now for my activity I've never winked at anyone cuz it's just creepy to me so that's a 0. I have photo liked (which is majority of the girls I liked or would of liked to talk to) 123 times. I Faved 93 and was faved by 4 women. It deletes your messages but roughly I probably messaged let's say 70 times and was ignored all but 10 to 12 times. And yes let's highlight that.
So after almost 365 days and 200 dollars later I briefly talked to 10-12 girls. Out of those 10-12 I met 3 of them on dates. One was kinda a wierdo (attractive yes but just dumb as a bag rocks), the 2nd only had been single for a few months and she was cool but I guess she wasn't into me. The 3rd definitely rebounded the ** out of me lol, I really liked her to but nope of course she also was fresh out a relationship. And I'll be honest I hooked up with 2 of 3 but guess what ladies, believe it or not that's actually not why I paid 200 bucks.
For some reason I seem to get used way harder by girls lol-- like wtf happened to women these days? I honestly never want to hear another girl bitch about guys and sex ever again. But anyways I only bring this up to back my claim that I'm not a weirdo or unattractive guy. 3 dates out of 12 convos isn't bad, and 2 out of the 3 dates sleep with you isn't too shabby either. But what's horribly sad is for 3500 women to view you and only 12 respond after year that's LESS THAN 1% lol. Honestly if it was even in the 30 percent range I'd be like whatever but when you're dealing with less than 1 % something's not right here, especially taking into consideration all the other odd things that occurred earlier.
Plus I'm really trying to give women the benefit of the doubt and I'm hoping they aren't the most shallow creatures on this planet. Oh and just to even further my suspicions, the girls that I did meet I'd talk to them about match and what it was like for them and the most common thing I always hear was "creepy old men," tons of messages from creepy old men, and this would only make me more frustrated hearing this cuz I'm thinking... well wtf how do I not look like a saint on there?
ALSOOOO I've been on ok cupid, and pof which are FREE dating apps both for a over a year and I have had worse luck on match.com and was ignored-- no joke 20 times more than both pof and ok cupid combined. Again something's not right here... I'm sorry but numbers don't lie and if you can't see what's going on here, you're an idiot, don't believe me? Go ahead join but don't say I didn't warn you! And yes it sucks. I'd love match.com to work. I think it's a great idea and a great way to meet people but sadly just like any internet based thing it's used for alternate motives and pushes away the genuine people. It's nothing more than a business $$$$$ not a freaking professional certified "match maker." I feel dumb just thinking about it.
Oh and I almost forgot and this is more for the guys, this goes for ALL the dating apps, I have only been messaged by girls FIRST after 2 years experience roughly 15 times, 100% of them were large woman aka 200 lbs, and I don't care girls if you read this and get all mad but guess what, I get mad when I work hard for my health and some 200lb girl thinks guys are going to be drooling over their obvious poor health choices. But to make the matter worse maybe, just maybe if we shared anything in common ok fine but nope it's literally night and day differences. I'm sorry but vaginas are overrated, ladies get your head out of your ass. This is not a Disney movie-- you're not going to ever get a prince purely based off the fact you have a vagina. I know it's not all of you but it seems to be more and more common practice in my generation.

More importantly, I've heard complaints from many people that Match.com similar to Christian Mingle is highly unfair and a bit racist toward blacks and non white users! Talk about frustrating. Also, when my profile was inactive it got more views and interests than when my profile was active. I get no interests in my profile in 2 months then all of a sudden the day my account expires I get someone interested in me. It's like they sent me fake interests to try and get me to sign back up. Don't sign up with Match.com. It will cost you hundreds per year for something that other sites honestly do better anyway. They will automatically bill your credit card every 6 months without any notification (because they buried their subscription renewal policy deep inside the terms and agreement when you sign up--even for a free trial). There was no control in the mobile application that I could find to turn off the auto-renewal either. I called to tell them not to automatically renew 6 months ago and yet it's happened again. When I received the credit charge, I called again to request a refund and full cancellation. They sent me a cancellation confirmation email this time but refused the refund because I'd "received an email" on the account.
So I've now paid for another 6 months of a service I do not want and will not receive. Even the supervisor refused to issue a refund (although they were happy to offer me a "discount" if I didn't cancel the account). They can't seem to grasp that I cancelled specifically because of their shady billing practices and poor customer service. When I asked the supervisor how he feels about conducting that kind of business practice and model, his answer was "I feel pretty good.”
I don't trust them to cancel the subscription. I'll be blocking all future transactions through my bank. Your best bet is to never give them your banking information to begin with.
Avoid this site. It's not worth the super high premium you pay. Anyone who makes you automatically pre-pay for a service and then refuses to refund the money when you tell them you don't want the service is not an ethical business. Their business and billing practices are--at the very best--shady and are probably illegal in a lot of places. Their customer service is horrible and disempowered to satisfy disputes. My advice is to get out and live life instead. Meet someone in person. It works much better. Match.com just wants access to your bank account or credit card for as long as they can keep it.

Make sure you read the fine print!! They have a so called "helpful" feature called auto renew that they conveniently have no control over when you buy the app through your apple phone. So if you don't call after your subscription is over and cancel, it will be charged again and not month by month for the same term you originally signed up for. After being on the phone with three different people and over 30 minutes I was finally able to cancel my subscription. NOT a good experience!!!

I have been a member for nearly 6 months now after I gave up using free sites & took the plunge & I thought I would use the biggest & most likely the best. After I subscribed & started contacting people I soon realized this was all a farce. The site feels empty, the profiles are often years old & no longer in use. Mail goes unread even though they appear online. The replies I do get is about people in a relationship already & not looking or not ready to start dating & yet they are using a dating site.
So, after my 3 payments finished for the 6 month set-up & cancelled my Automatic renewal for a further 6 months as I had no intention of continuing it after it expires. 2 days later I got a call from my bank stating I had gone overdrawn. I asked this was not possible as I had over £100 left to find out Match.com have taken 2 lots of £91.88 out of my account. I contacted them by email & have not got a reply even though the submission page states within 24 hours & its been 17 days. So I have just initiated a PayPal case to recover my money.
If I was you, avoid this site no matter. If you know someone that's had success, these would be the minority of people as the majority do not. I had contacted some people that appeared in the list you get when you boost your account. I got a few replies stating a few shocking things. 1, they have not subscribed to the account in a very long time & 2, they had there account deleted before leaving. So judge this how you see fit, but to me it looks like Match.com are keeping accounts alive to make it appear active.
Another deceptive thing about this site I have noticed is when you see icons about boost or change or upgrade. You would think clicking would send you to a page to see what it's about. WRONG!! They just charge you for that service! Just go out to your local bar or pub & go up to someone & say hi, It's free & saves so much heartache in the long run!

He is a businessman who soon has to go out of the country on business, and promises to keep in touch. While "out of the country," either his phone is broken, laptop is stolen, or lost, and he must have some money to replace it so he can keep contact with you. Soon that leads to more money. His words are so convincing and his story so intricate that you think it could never have been just made up. But it was, and now I am out money and emotions to a creep who never intended to even be a friend, much less a husband. I will never go on that site again, and will encourage others to avoid it like the plague.

I not only got very few opportunities to meet men but when I cancelled my account they still charged my credit card. When I questioned it, they stated that I couldn't cancel my auto renewal online and all accounts were set to be automatically renewed. Very poor business methods not to mention the poor results. I would not recommend Match to anyone.

1 out of 10 account is fake, they are looking for your private info, etc. Match claims that they approve every profile - not so. In addition, they decide which picture you can upload and which should be your primary photo. Do yourself a favor and get a mani/pedi for the money instead of Match.com. The worst site EVER!!

Advertised free access. They take you through a registration process which leads you to believe you will have access. Once you try to contact anyone, it moves you into a subscription and leads you to believe you may cancel at any time. I was not satisfied with the service and cancelled. When I called their automated refund number, I was told I cannot be issued a refund as I used the service. This makes no sense. Free became $200 and although I cancelled, I am not entitled to a refund of the unused balance.

Few years ago, my membership was cancelled without notifying me. I just couldn't logged in. I contacted customer service but no response. So I created another profile and paid again. Then suddenly, I couldn't logged in again. So I contacted customer service again, no response. Months later, I created another profile and paid again. Days later I couldn't logged in and no response from customer service. I felt like they just wanted my money without providing the service.
