This company knows how to get your money. I had signed up for a free membership and was charged a subscription rate for 3 months. I cancelled the moment I found out which was a friday and called monday due to their office being closed. They cancelled my account but refused to issue me a refund even though it shows I never used the account. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

I just received my credit card bill today and found a charge from Match.com which I did not authorize. I called them and they said it was renewed online and that they could not refund the charge. I haven't been on Match for over a year or two now and asked them how they were able to charge my card when I didn't give them the credit card number. They responded that they keep all credit card numbers. I even asked her to check my profile and see if anyone had logged in on my profile or if it was visible, she said NO to both. I then asked to speak to a supervisor, she put me on hold and after 30mins of holding I was disconnected. If this is the way they do business then I hope everyone reads this and is very careful at giving credit card numbers out. I am now disputing the charges with Discover.

They auto billed my account and refused to return my money saying I should have canceled my account before they automatically billed me without my authorization. I cancelled my account as soon as I saw the charge on my credit card. I called them for a refund and they said per member agreement they could not refund subscription fee once billed, even though I had no idea they would automatically bill my credit card for another 6 months (only to see the exact same people that are on the free sites).

I disputed the charge with my credit card company who also refused to return my funds based on what Match told them. So I told Match to give me access to the stupid account since they were forcing me to pay for it. They said oh no, you filed a dispute so we blocked your access. Thieves, do not let them take your money!! Not only are they scam artists, they have the EXACT SAME PEOPLE on their site that you find on the free sites, so don't give the Match.com crooks your money!!

On September 23, 2015, I cancelled my Match.com membership before the expiration date of September 25, 2015. The following week, on September 28 my bank account was charged $59.97. On October 2, 2015, when I discovered this, I called customer service. They said I had never cancelled my membership. (BTW, during the cancellation, they give you the old "sorry to see you go" and ask why you're leaving, so obviously I went through the cancellation process). They offered me a $22 refund, not a prorated refund as, for example, any insurance company would do.

Here's the bottom line: Match would rather screw a good customer than retain a good customer. Certainly I'll never do business again with this unethical enterprise. Match is owned by gay billionaire Barry Diller of IAC, who has always been known for his questionable business ethics. I suppose this is billionaire Barry's way of screwing people, which is how he got to be where he is today and I presume his business ethics have trickled down to Match.com.

I signed up for a "free trial" for Match.com back in March. I immediately cancelled the service when I read the "small print." Well somehow, Match took 130.00's from my checking account, by accessing my debit card. I have cancelled my debit card, which is the only way to ensure that they will not continue billing me. Customer Service quoted their same garbage, about how I should have read the "fine print" and that they are refusing to return any of my money. I had heard what criminals these people are, which now explains why I never used their service before.

Now, I have a membership to this fraudulent organization, which I did not want, nor did I authorize them to take money out of my account. I am so upset and am wondering why this company is allowed to remain in business, with these fraudulent, criminal practices. I have filed a complaint with the Attorney General's office, plus disputing the debit, but I have little faith that anything will be done. Please, don't sign up for this service, you will greatly regret it.

In order to sign up with the Match.com you have to pay. They claim their site is free but you are only put in the position of putting all of your information out there and they hide behind their name. So I decided to take the chance. I paid for six months of service up front and was offered six months of service for free (pay for 6 mos., get 6 mos free). Did I mention, prior to paying I was informed via email from Match.Com that there were several people interested in my area? Well, you couldn't access these "interested" people without paying (illegal in itself because it was lies and misleading).

I paid and the information in my Match inbox were all emails from Match.Com themselves. Very misleading as these emails were welcomes and how to get the most out of searches and emails. I am careful and cautious, so I took my time looking and being picky about whom to contact. All of the sudden there was nobody interested, no responses, no likes, only spammers, somebody, stealing a photo from a user on site and attempting to be that person. These were reported with no response from anyone at Match.com. So my activity dropped way off, then I fell at work May 7th 2015, and have been on worker's compensation since that date.

Sept 14, 2015 Match.Com stole $129.54 from my account causing my account to overdraw and charging me an additional $35. This is an especially difficult hardship under these circumstances, and I attempted to handle this myself. First contacting them through their site, contact us and emailing them. No response. I then called the 800 number through the bank, "No ma'am you are not eligible for a refund". We were able to charge your account because you did not use your match.com account the number of specified times.

I did not authorize match.com to go into my account and take money from it. To me this is robbery and I will tell consumer affairs, the BBB, the NYS attorney general, and anyone else who will listen. They do not have good business ethics and they hide behind their outsourced operators that barely speak English. Please see if you can get my money back, discredit their site with a poor score, and MAKE them treat their patrons kindly. I immediately shut my match.com account down so they could not place any further charge on my checking account.

They told me that I was not able to get my money refunded because they are a non refundable company. I haven't been on it in months and I just got to charge within the last week. I did set up some dates through the site. But Match is filled with fake profiles. Using reverse image search it's easy to find profiles with celebrity photos. Match claims users can report fake profiles and they will be removed. But I reported numerous fakes and they were never deleted. After a few months Match cancelled my prepaid account without refund with vague explanation. When I asked for details they refused, saying it was about site "integrity". If I was doing something wrong why couldn't Match have given me warning or explained that I needed to change something? Match has no integrity.

When subscribing to Match use your debit card information. Pay attention to when subscription expires then go to your bank and request a new debit card (tell them lost yours). Match will be unable to renew subscription using your old card number. Also, unless you manually hide your profile/pictures after your off match they will continue to show your profile. Showing profiles of people no longer on their site makes their "shopping cart" of available people fuller than it really is. This is why some of your emails to subscribers go unanswered. Never could figure out how the "fake" profiles get on their site but working on that too. Match.com is a true money grab but it's possible to stop their thievery.

I cancelled online one month prior to my subscription auto-renewing. They would not let me remove my credit card nor did they send any type of notification of my cancellation so I was a bit concerned. I checked back 3 days prior to my subscription being up for renewal and it still stated that my subscription was set to expire and auto-renew was deactivated. I figured all was fine. I got a bill the day after my membership expired. Match makes it almost impossible to contact them directly. I sent an email with no response. I called. They told me that my subscription was cancelled and I wouldn't be charged.

I never received my money back. I sent another email. It was answered with, "I am so sorry but you will never see your money, it is against our policy to refund, basically ever." Over several emails I tried to reason with them. Nothing. This site will rip you off and do nothing to fix it. They won't let you remove your card so you are trapped. Word of advice, call and get the person's name who cancels your subscription. Don't do it online because they will deny it happened and you will never see your money again. So angry.

They are dishonest and deceptive. This is what I attempted to email them but guess what, it doesn’t go through for no reason provided. Just asks if I want a refund then tells me to call. Which I already did. So Match.com here you are. Your auto renewal policy is absurd. It’s a term that your customers cannot avoid and then when they cancel they cannot get a refund unless it is with a 24 hour period you do not bother reminding them of. Your business practices are abhorrent and your business seems to profit primarily from your unethical billing practices that consumers, as your representative informed me, are not entitled to refund regardless of any circumstances.

This is absurd. I am in process of a divorce. My husband was on your website and your company cannot find a way to refund this $97 charge despite my cancellation a few days after auto renewal. Your business practices are disgusting and your terms are unavoidable since auto renewal is not an option your customers can decline. You guys are a shameful entity.

As an attorney and, up to recently, a customer of yours, your practices hinge on fraud by virtue of your one sided terms. Shame on you. No wonder a simple Google search of your entity results in thousands of consumer complaints. There is no doubt that your business does not have a high customer return rate and this is why. Heartless corporation thriving on basic consumers that have no recourse as you say. Boilerplate terms, unequal bargaining power result in an unconscionable agreement. JDate does not have such disgusting business practices as you. You may want to learn from your competitors.

They charged me 77.97 for 3 months which started today and then offered me a $22 dollar refund. WTF are they doing with my other $55?? I pretty much am paying $55 to sit on the phone and yell at them (which btw I never do!!). I haven't even used my account that has been canceled. This company is a joke! Nowhere did I see that Match.com was a non refundable company, but on countless reviews I read where others have gotten refunds. I am a female looking for a male but I received countless female winks and e-mails, that I was unable to read unless I paid more money. When I called about a refund one person tells me they have a no refund policy but the manager tells me that they refund only under certain situations. Which me getting e-mails from women or having to pay extra for everything, does not meet that criteria or the fact that the two days I was trying to log into my account, I was logging into someone else's acct. Is Match.com a scam? In my opinion, a thousand times yes!

I signed up for 6 month membership for $107.94 with the following 6 month guarantee if I do not find “special someone”. When I log in to the site, I could go to the page showing my current status of this 6 month guarantee qualification. I met the required minimal number of contacts I need to make to qualify for this guarantee program every month. The page shows this progress and everything looked fine.

After the end of the 6 month membership, I realized my credit card was charged again for another $107.94. They did not even email me that they charged my credit card for another 6 months. I called the customer service, and the representative told me that I did not get the 6 month guarantee because I did not “claim” it. He said I needed to notify them that I did not meet a special someone and claim the free subscription to actually get it.

After the six month, the page showing my qualification status for this program was removed and I have no access to it. The representative said he does not have access to it either, so he cannot see if I was qualified or not. He basically said there is nothing the customer service can do for this, even after I asked him to speak with someone above him. He also mentioned that he’s been with the company for a long time and he knows there is nothing they would do. This is a very dishonest way of doing business - that they are squeezing money from people by deception. I will never use this site again and will definitely not recommend to anyone.

I talked with match.com. They refused to provide me a refund. I argued that I have not used the service in 2 months and will not use it going forward in time so they should not charge me for future use that will not occur. They said they automatically renew memberships to protect consumers from accidentally losing their account data if they forget to repurchase a membership after one expires. This is a lie because I was on match about 4 years ago and when I bought the 3 month membership this time they STILL had my prior account information. If you cancel, suddenly you will get a lot of emails telling you lots of members are now interested in you. It's a phony lure to get you back. I fell for it, and when I tried to contact those folks interested in me, all of them were gone or unavailable. Conclusion -- they were phony ads to start with. As soon as I paid these inquiries not only stopped, the ones that made the inquiries either were gone or would not respond and I grew suspicious. I opened another profile and tested it and the same thing happened. I was not suspicious now, I knew these were fake profiles soliciting me to get me to join. If you don't pay and join you cannot see who they are. Next I began to complain about the fake profiles by clicking the concern button below the ones that were fake. I knew they were fake because there were other profiles using the same pictures or the pictures and the information did not jive. Expl. Black woman saying she was middle eastern and spoke Thai. These profiles were being removed initially then I notice they were not being removed. Finally my button did not work to submit a concern.

I looked them up on the net and discovered they had numerous class action law suits beginning in the 90's up until today. These law suits were from adult entertainers and other people who were furious that their pictures were being used by Match. The older cases were lost because they could not trace the people making the accounts because they were in Russia and Eastern Europe (How Convenient). There is however a 4.5 billion dollar class action lawsuit currently against them.

How does the US government not get involved with this nonsense. The FBI won't touch a case that is less than one million dollars but combined I am SURE it is well over this amount. Does the US government care about its people being victims of fraud. Let me state for the record that Match does and can work but need to be held accountable for their actions so they stop. The people they are preying on are victims of broken marriages and hurting badly. They are preying on the weak and broken. This is scrupulous and terrible. I was diagnosed with breast cancer on May 29th. Once the diagnosis was confirmed in the 1st week of June, I attempted to cancel the Auto Renewal feature on the website. I assumed that I performed the task correctly because I was asked "why" I was cancelling the automatic renewal. My AMX was billed again for 3 months in August. I contacted Match.com to see about crediting the billing since I have no hair and it will not be growing back until November. Match.com has absolutely no accommodations for uncontrollable situations. No credit can be issued. They will not shorten the term from 3 to 1 month. They will not put the account on hold so I could use it once my hair returns and the breast surgery is complete... nothing.

I have never dealt with a business that has no customer service or options to assist clients! I could have sent a picture, I could have sent the medical paperwork, anything to prove the information. No, No and No. They would however, be happy to remove the account for me. It is not the $83 dollars but the principle of how they run the business and no alternatives to accommodate clients. I'll find another way to meet a nice guy or maybe I post the bald head and see who is interested in me... that might be a real quality guy. Wonder if they will approve the picture comment on that one?

I only signed up for 3 months but just like every other NON-reputable business, they steal your money and keep you signed up without letting YOU decide if you want to sign up again.

I would guess, a good portion of their business is their FLAT OUT REFUSAL to refund your money if you don't want their service. They couldn't care less if they provide ZERO service for the money. They DO NOT care if you ever meet someone - they thrive off you missing the small print that says they will steal your money and renew you without your permission. ONLY companies that have EXTREMELY high rates of cancellations after the first 3 months resort to such unethical business practices. The site has no one worth meeting... And like others said, I think many profiles are fake. It's the biggest scam out there. I didn't even have 1 date... just a whole lot of creepy emails. DO NOT EVER BECOME A MEMBER!!!

Further, I would keep getting messages from very old men when I clearly stated not to message me if you are over the age of 34. I would get emails throughout the day to check out matches that I WOULD NEVER BE INTERESTED IN.

The morning of Labor Day they charged me again $51 dollars when I had only signed up for one month. I was NEVER SENT A RECEIPT REGARDING THIS TRANSACTION. I called their department and this is what I was told, "Company policy, we cannot issue you a refund." There was no regard to my satisfaction as a consumer and I was only a "monetary contributor" of $51 dollars. I would never use Match.com ever again. I would rather use OkCupid or eHarmony. I strongly feel as a consumer Match.com only wanted my money not to help find me find a good match for myself. Being on the site just frustrated me due to the poor matching capabilities and dealing with their customer care department was the icing on the cake. Please be careful when signing up for Match.com. I regularly received winks & favorites from members that immediately (w/in 30 seconds) have hidden profiles. Then when you look on your profile it says you have never received a like or favorite. When I received my daily matches e-mail about 25% of the time the same photo would appear with a different user name. On top of that only 10% of them were looking for my age range. This is different from the daily matches you get on the site. About 50% of the matches on the site had a vague About section & were looking for men 3 feet to 8 feet with a 40-year age range up to 65 & had no preference about any of the man's features.

Most of the time I would receive likes at 3am after I was on the site earlier in the day. Two months from my subscription ending they stopped. 5 days ago I turned my auto-renew off & began receiving likes & favorites at 3am again. They take advantage of people looking for true love by making it seem things are picking up again right when you are about to cancel. The same exact thing happened when my first 6 months was ending & I was getting another 6 months for free from the Match guarantee. These people need to be investigated again. They have already been sued & lost & now they are using new fraudulent tactics. Please, please will somebody sue these people.

MATCH'S BBB Accreditation ranked "F" and REVOKED on 7/13/15 - I have had the same bad experiences as almost everyone on here. I stopped using this site two years ago because it was just getting to the point of being over the top on the scamming by users and the company and bad customer service. However, I do still log in every few months with a nonpaying fake profile just to be able to view. Guess what? Yes... you guessed it... anyone who seemed halfway decent and remotely attractive, well their profile is still up. Two years later (sometimes longer) and they are always active within 24 hours! Amazing! Either they are fake profiles or serial narcissistic daters i.e. do not touch these people even with a ten foot pole. I used this site back in 2003 and it was sooo different... I found my fiance rather quickly and had many good 1-5 dates with several men before that.

After ending that 6 year engagement, I tried Match.com again and it seemed to have turned into a scam site. Very disappointing. I had signed up for the 6 month free if no match was found. I emailed and winked at dozens of men and not one responded back and since I got no responses, they said I was not eligible for the free six months, Hello! I can't control if no one returns my messages -- only Match can do that. Hmm??? I cancelled and have not paid again since and that was 2010! I am still young, attractive, educated, without children etc... a good catch - just shy and need a buffer (online chatting) before feeling comfortable going on a date with someone. I am a Christian but I don't go to church, so can't meet people that way.

ALSO -- This new "private mode" is just making it easier for serial daters and cheaters to use the site. Match's "private mode" is really just a covert way of saying they are now officially the new "Ashley Madison" dating website. Pathetic and disappointing. eHarmony is worse, it's more expensive... I got auto-renewed even though I cancelled -- know how? Because I logged back in to make sure it had cancelled and just logging back in after cancelling will uncancel you and auto renew you again, plus I got bombarded with Jehovah's witnesses trying to convert me. It's sad online dating has come to this, it used to be a really great tool.

I was not aware of the automatic subscription renewal process and therefore unwittingly continued to pay a monthly charge on a credit card account for 10 months. The main reason for not realizing that I was being charged was because I had not realized that I had renewed my subscription using my credit card account. I do not recall, at the point of requesting a renewal, that this card was presented on a payments page to be agreed/accepted. If this card was presented I do not believe I would have agreed to use it as I had ceased using the card and in fact destroyed it some 12 months previously. (I actually believed that my membership had been renewed without any payment).

During the 10 months when the automatic renewal payments were being taken from my credit card account I rarely, if ever, used the account. On the whole I have found using Match.com very unsatisfactory generally. Firstly, I have not found there to be an adequate level of suitable matches and therefore the effort involved is time consuming and frustrating with little satisfaction. Secondly, and very significantly, the search options and filtering, do not work. Whilst always searching for an age range and distance from postcode range I find that these are not reflected (at all) in the results/members presented. Thirdly, rather randomly, the photographs of members do not appear.

As I believed I had not used my credit card account for almost 2 years I did not have any need to look at my statements; I had merely made payments on the balance of the account. I was therefore completely shocked to suddenly find out that I had unwittingly paid in the region of 300 for this service (plus a high level interest rate), a service that I had not, on the whole, used and which is of a considerably low standard.

I feel strongly that the process of automatic renewal, without advising customers of this, is extremely underhanded and fraudulent. (In my case, also, paying a monthly subscription for 10 months, was the most expensive option - rather than a 3 or 6 monthly option). It is very possible that I would have been a victim of this payment policy for much longer as finding out was by chance.

I contacted Match, customer care, via email explaining the circumstances and experiences as above. Their response was very unrelenting in that no refund or compensation would be offered. No acceptance for any lack of duty of care to customers/public was acknowledged. I did not receive any explanation for my concern that I had not been presented with a payments page/details of card at the point of renewing my subscription.

After exchanging several unsatisfactory responses from one person/advisor - Deepintee - I requested that my concerns be taken up with management. Deepintee replied that she/he wasn't prepared to do this as the response would be the same. I then contacted customer care again, for the attention of a Manager, and have not received any reply. My experience, of the sheer cost incurred, the lack of satisfaction overall with the effectiveness/functionality of the site and the uncompromising, cold customer care, is devastating.

I am disgusted by the misleading way in which the company advertises its subscriptions. I recently purchased a 6-month package in June and went on to invest in their Connect and Select upgrades, the cost of which was itemised on screen as being in the region of 20. Thinking that this would be a one-off payment, I was appalled to discover that Match had amplified the cost 6-fold to cover the entire subscription, even though this was not made clear at the time of purchase and there is no apparent mention of it in the online terms and conditions I agreed to when I brought the original package. After asking a friend to bring up the upgrade page on their account (since I no longer seem to be able to access it), I have since noticed a small clause at the bottom of the page that mentions that upgrades are subject to auto-renewal.

I feel naive for not having noticed it sooner but it was not especially apparent at the time and was not accessible after I confirmed the payment. I still have 3 months of subscription left and have been unable to secure a refund of any kind. This is a shame because I was otherwise happy with the site but based on this experience, I am reluctant to recommend it to others. So the next day (May 25th-ish, 2015), I noticed a charge for $297.32 out of my personal bank account on that credit/debit card I used to verify with Viviana. I then called my bank to find out what was going on. They informed me that "Match.com" had charged my account for a new membership or a renewal.

I then immediately called "Match.com." I reached Stephanie in customer service and proceeded to explained the situation and ask why I was charged for a renewal? She informed me that the previous representative renewed my account and that all she could do for me is to cancel the "auto-renewing" subscription for service. I was like "WTF **...”

I then asked to speak to a supervisor and escalate this call. I was then transferred to Miguel, and he was a supervisor (or so he said). I was informed by him that there was nothing they could or would do, to process a refund for me as it was against company policy. That "Match.com" doesn't give refunds. I again explained my situation and asked him to please check again, there must have been some mistake. He responded with a "nope," there wasn't anything they were going to do.

My next move was to take it to my "bank." I then contacted my financial institute to ask them what my options were. I provided them all the information and we filed a "disputed charges" claim on my account. I was refunded the money "provisionally" by my bank. I then had to wait 15 - 30 days to get a final response from my bank, as they worked with "MasterCard." After the waiting period they told me the claim was approved and that I would be able to keep my provisional refund.

It wasn't until about a month later that "Match.com," then unknown to me or the bank, charged my account again for the $297.32. It overdrew my account and incurred banking fees (as I originally used my MC debit card to verify myself with Viviana). I then called my bank again the next day and asked them about the charges and have been told that the dispute was overturned and has been revoked. That is why "Match.com" has been able to recharge my account with a new charge. My bank told me they could file a new claim but that they needed, in writing, the email or digital documentation that my account had been cancelled back when this first got started.

I then today, 08/13/15, spoke to "Match.com" again. I was able to reach Michelle in customer service. She informed me that my account is no longer open or closed. That it had been moved over to corporate HQ in Dallas, TX. She proceeded to give me a "P.O. Box" to write to if I would like more information. She and her manager "Lisa" are refusing to give me any information about my account in any way. So I have been charged twice for an account that is completely unusable in any way, shape or form. I asked them for copies of my contract to show that they can charge me for a service or digital property/software under a subscription, that they do not have to actually provide me with something to use or have to use for my subscription fee.

They again proceeded to re-inform me that I would have to contact the corporate headquarters for any further information on this matter. I then sourced the Corporate HQ phone number and address. I called there during normal business hours. They have an automated attendant that doesn't do anything but loop you to a voicemail for the operator or send you back to the customer service line that will not help me.

This entire process from start to finish is absolutely absurd. This company is completely defrauding this nation and its consumers, and there is nothing being done about it at all in any way. There is no governing agency to report them to. As a consumer we have "zero" resources to use to get them to correct all the erroneous charges they have done, placed or charged people for. As I read this blog/forum, it surprises me that nobody has done anything. This has been going on since as far back as 2011 and as I see it, it is occurring on a daily basis still to this day.

As consumers we need the ability to have a resolution given, a path of correction to take. But yet there is nothing to do. So we come to the sites and post but nobody will do anything, anywhere, at any level of authority. I guess that means as a society that we are accepting that "fraud," "stealing," and "robbing" are acceptable over the internet, just NOT in person. So we all have permission to break the laws on the internet because there isn't any enforcing agency that even cares or has the resources to do anything.

Match.com touts that it has the most members, and marriages of any other site out there. So imagine if only 10% of their members were defrauded, that would be worth what, how much are they getting. Well, let’s say they have 300,000 members nationally. That would be 30,000 members at $35.00 roughly per month in increments of 3/6/9/12 months. That means that a company paying and earning revenues, even just under the match group (owned as a subsidiary of IAC/InterActiveCorp), that is estimated at over $400 billion dollars (wiki.com) per month. The sheer fraud revenues are estimated at 1,050,000.00 a month. Holy **! No wonder why they wouldn't want to give refunds... ever...

I don't know about anyone else but this has to stop. We as a society have to stand together here and start being a part of the solution, not part of the problem by putting up with this type of behavior by anyone. I hope people read this, and pass it on. It is important people know exactly what's going on here. Also, just keep in mind, that company (IAC/InterActiveCorp) owns all the following companies, just under the "Match Group." We need to boycott all of them together as a people. Chemistry.com, Singles.net, DailyBurn, HowAboutWe, Match.com, Meetic, OkCupid, OurTime.com, ParPerfeito, People Media, PlentyofFish, SpeedDate.com, Tinder, The Princeton Review, Tutor.com, Twoo.

I bought a 1-month subscription for Match.com via LivingSocial for $18. LivingSocial sent an email with instructions and a link to follow. I followed the link, entered my promotion code and the next page that followed asked for my credit card number and a package choice. This concerned me on a number of levels, so via their chat application I asked a Match.com rep to ensure that this did not mean I would be charged. He assured me that I would not, that entering my credit card was in the case of auto-renewal.

The next 3 weeks were a disappointment, so much so that I cancelled my subscription even though I had prepaid it, a week early. So imagine my surprise when my credit card bill comes in and, lo and behold, I'd been charged 1-month at $37 IN ADDITION to what LivingSocial had charged me. When it came time to resolving this, I spoke to 2 representatives and a supervisor whose only capabilities seemed to be the ability to repeat the same, "I'm sorry there's nothing I can do" speech over and over and over, without providing any real solution or insight into the problem.

When I went to LivingSocial (who were AMAZING) their rep called Match.com on my behalf and also wound up more frustrated with Match.com than when we began. What seemed to us like a simple solution (of simply applying the promo code that was being provided, that had already been paid for) became a complicated issue for Match.com, whose only concern seemed to be getting us off the phone. According to the LivingSocial rep, I am one of a dozen to whom this has happened and will be reporting this to her supervisor. In the end, it was the LivingSocial rep who was kind enough not only to refund me but also provide me with a credit for future use. THAT is customer service that Match.com would be wise to learn from. Incredibly poor customer experience from Match.com.

Only after my second call finally closed my account, refused refund the three months membership fee. I contacted my credit card company and explained that I didn't feel safe being on this website and my credit card company opened dispute. Match.com refused to the refund again and they put back on my credit card the $86. Not a safe place to dating and put your pictures up, Match.com do NOT protect their paid members.

I never agreed to pay an additional 3 months and I definitely did not want to be charged for 3 months. The customer service and managers were rude and not willing to help at all. Why have an escalation team if they can't do anything at all. They refused to let me talk to anyone else. Do not use Match.com unless you plan to pay them money for absolutely nothing.

They would only stop the auto renewal. Contacted my bank to dispute charge. Was told I have to wait 15 days and I will. Then I saw they are not accredited by Better Business. I was very disappointed with my experience on Match. They did not match any of the men that liked or messaged me by what my preferences were (why bother giving the option of what traits you're looking for when you make your profile if it's useless). The site might as well be Tinder!! eHarmony does a great job of filtering out matches to what you're looking for. Match, despite its name, does not. I have a couple of friends who've used this site end up with complete nut jobs, & I've come across two guys who've pursued me the most on the site that were just looking for a hookup. This leads me to believe this is hotspot for guys to troll for hookups instead of the bar scene. Pay at your own risk with this site.

My account’s about me section was edited and partially deleted without my knowledge or consent making the about me part make no sense and look like an illiterate wrote it. This could be the reason for no interest in my account. I have no idea, until I checked it last week when this happened as I was not notified and only saw it when I decided to check my profile. Upon contacting them I received a standard reply with no answers to my concerns just generic explanations. I checked their policy to make sure I had not violated it. There was nothing in my profile that violated their policy. They said they can't review my profile as it's no longer available since the deletion/edit of the about me section. It was another generic reply with no answers to my questions just very impersonal standard cut and paste reply.

I asked them to please answer my questions and contact me to help me out as 4 months of my subscription had run out and as it was all approved prior to being made public I had no idea how long it had been edited this way. I also said it Seems they don't care as they are just impersonally replying without addressing my questions or concerns and if that's the case I'd like a full refund due to the amount of time my profile may have been compromised by their web management. I also said I would prefer to have this fixed as I spent so long creating my profile.

They subsequently replied with no answers to any of my questions or concerns and basically told me they cancelled my subscription as of next month. This is the worst customer service I have ever received. I have copies of all of the correspondence which show I was never impolite, that I was frustrated at their handling of this situation, that they took no accountability for anything that had happened, and that they made no attempt to address anything but their own deniability in the emails.

I am the victim of a scammer on Match.com and I have now collected almost 400 scammer profiles with documented proof. My story has been featured in the news media, but Match continues to blame the victim and they take no responsibility for their part. They have no oversite and these scammers know that and they come and go using pictures of famous people like Alex Trebek, Attorney General of VA and Max Lucado. If they get kicked off they just come back the next day. Match is making millions off these scammers and the scammers are making millions off their subscribers. People have to stop going to that date site looking for a companion as Match states in their crafty advertisements. These scammers are very good at what they do. The victim is caught up in an intricate and sophisticated web, and by the time one realizes what has happened, the damage is done.

Often the scammer is able to get the victim off of the dating site before they read the warnings about scamming. Match.com is planning to go public on the NYSE. If this criminal behavior isn't stopped, the American public will unknowingly be buying into this fleecing of America. Since one of their lawsuits in a Texas court they have instituted a class action waiver and mandatory arbitration process so no new cases can be brought to court. The recovery from arbitration would be limited to the membership fee. So as it presently stands, they are exempt from any laws and can get by with all kinds of criminal behavior with no repercussions. They are a huge company, with lots of lawyers that know how to twist the law in their favor so they can get by with anything. As it stands, they are guilty of elder abuse as most of the people being scammed are older citizens.

They blatantly allow scammers free reign of their site and there is no way they are looking at the profiles or they would surely see that some are back over and over again with pictures of famous people and many of the ones that I tracked were on scammer website like Pig Busters. In the meantime The victim’s lives are ruined. People are becoming suicidal and withdrawing from their families because of the shame, criticism, and embarrassment that follows. Those that have not encountered this can be very judgmental and we, the victims, go into isolation and depression.

We, the public, must band together and do something about stopping this heinous criminal activity that is allowed to flourish on this date site. It will probably take political action to stop them as they have made their Terms of Service to totally protect them for anything including rape. The courts just look the other way as Match collect millions of dollars from the scammers and the scammers get millions from their innocent subscribers. We must contact our politicians and fight this until we are heard. So far, this crime goes basically unnoticed and is happening many times a day on this site. I have document proof of scammer profiles and I just need someone to listen.

Why ask the question regarding the person you want to meet and then send me something that is totally wrong? Not only is this frustrating but how many others out there have to contend with rejects when we don't respond. I have had several send me contact info and want me to take it off line so they can scam me. As they had done to my friend. Is this Match's fault partially because lack of verification and that they don't go beyond the basic sign up. One other thing Match is terrible for is their refund policy. Simply no none there. Why do we want refunds because Match has a poor reputation for success and their algorithm is terrible. If I put in my requirement tall, thin and blonde why send me short, fat and black hair, etc.

I received so many winks from men all over the US, despite my setting set for 25-mile radius. Lots of emails from men in US military on tour in middle east. Or old ugly old men who are clearly lying about their age. I used a gift card to pay for my membership as I didn't trust the site when my membership expired. I would receive at least a half dozen emails each week from "widowers", their profiles were copy pasted and I would say even pictures photoshopped, heads did not look natural on the bodies. To say the least I became upset with all the b.S. I never received an email response from any men that I felt a connection with from what they wrote in their profile. They do not exist. I'm an attractive woman and not one responded to me.

I have been off the site for 6 months, removed my profile and would still receive winks. That tells me my profile has been pirated. Out of curiosity has anyone been successful with using their Meet me at Starbucks's feature? I have tried contacting 2 men that way but no response. Have any of you been sent a Meet me at Starbucks invitation? Curious to hear your experiences on this. Perhaps Starbucks should also be taken to task with Match.com.

I received the confirmation, "sorry to see you go" blah blah blah, and thought I was done with this awful company.

They both quickly disconnected with me -- awful customer service practice.

I followed that up by calling Match, and spoke to another customer service rep who repeated the same thing. I asked to speak with a supervisor, and a man, who was very rude, came on the phone reiterating the same thing and said he wasn't going to "argue" with me because he was not "going to change his mind about giving me a refund". I explained in detail that I am not looking for a COURTESY FAVOR, I am looking for Match to fix THEIR mistake in charging my account WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION. Unfortunately, I got several romance scammers which I reported with proof of evidence; some of the same exact profiles were found with other men's pictures but exact "About Me" profile --- even with the same spelling or grammatical errors. Some of the pictures on Match.com were found in other countries, with other men's profiles (Australia, Germany, Asian dating). Scandalous!

I was told by a representative for Match.com that they DO NOT grant refunds and that I did not qualify for the guarantee because I did not message 5 people in those 6 months, even though I did send 164 winks and 2 messages. I believe I deserve a refund because there were not as many handsome and interesting men on their webpage as they promoted and I don't think I should be punished because I am not chasing men online. I tend to be an old fashioned women that believes in a man approaching her and that I would have a better relationship with a man if they care enough to win me over from the beginning.

I do not recommend Match.com for others. They promise love with a guarantee but will not honor their guarantee and give you a refund. Instead their guarantee is to give you more time, even though they do not have a good selection of people to fall in love with. Plus either way "Match.com does not grant refunds." and that is a direct quote from the Match.com supervisor I spoke to earlier today.

I paid 60 upfront for six months about four weeks ago thinking I would be introduced or meet people like-minded online nearby. The only thing I was introduced to was their separate add on's to improve my profile, and to view people! Anyway I was only shown people all over the country, not nearby as promised, then I saw they were going to renew my subscription automatically when it expired so I cancelled the automatic subscription! That did it, I didn't get any views from anyone again, and at the top of the page I was being asked to renew my subscription, odd as I was paid up until next January.

Anyway this was when I realised I had been ripped off and so decided as I wasn't going to meet anyone on their site after all, so cancelled my account with 5 months still to run. I was even confused who I was with, as when I was logged in I was logged into Matchaffinity.com as well, and got emails from (Match.com) also (Matchaffinity), my emails over these issues, and their service fell on deaf ears. Conclusion.. a bunch of thieves. Do not join, you won't meet anyone.

Match.com are a thief because there is too much scam. And this people make fake profile and picture, take your money, and after that if you make a complaint match.com don't give access to use the site again. When they take the money after that you don't receive any more reply from anyone. If you call then only this people will say, "Sorry, no pay back your money." And I was shock -- only 2 day I have make subscribe and I want my money back but they don't want to pay back your money. Many complaint I see people make -- they make fake profile and picture.

I signed up for Match and Chemistry. I found both to have very shallow pools of viable dating candidates because there were SO MANY scamming profiles. It was very discouraging especially after seeing all their positive commercials. I was absolutely sure that I had cancelled both subscriptions and then would just use the services with the remaining time left on my initial subscriptions.

I was shocked when I opened my credit card bill and saw that Match had charged me 119.95. I called and spoke to their customer service. They said I used the service 10 days after the new billing cycle by sending someone a smile/email introduction. I explained to them that I had cancelled my membership and was just letting it expire and thought that I was just using the remainder of my initial subscription. They said I had not cancelled it. I told them I wanted it cancelled and no longer wanted their service. They said I could not stop my current subscription due to their guidelines and they would not refund my money.

I then asked to speak to a supervisor. I was put on the phone with "Juan" who was supposedly a supervisor at the San Jose, Costa Rica Match call center. He gave me the same response as the initial customer representative. I then asked to speak with his boss. He told me there was no one above him that I could speak with concerning my issue. I asked if he had a boss? He said he did but that they don't take calls from customers and that they would not refund my money. I'm so frustrated that a company like this operates in my opinion deceptively and treats customers with such contempt. I am disgusted and I will be contacting the BBB and letting my friends know my opinion of what I deem Match's anti-customer service.

They told me they saw no cancellation. I had no record of using their service during that time period and they still wouldn't refund me. I am incredibly disappointed and feel taken advantage of.

Plenty of Fish worked well too. What was different? This time it is non stop advertising and they are going IPO to sell on the stock market. First show high income and make the balance sheet sparkle. The match thing not a priority. The ladies were as active as a Cook County election roll and the policy is never refund any money, anytime. No shorting time so I was suckered with best value of six months, no quit, no refund. I contacted attorney general in my state and waiting for action. Not the same company as five years ago. I won't bother with redundancy, since I just read the numerous & identical experiences of other Match "victims." There is truth in all the reviews. I just spent the time reading & it was, to say the least, cathartic. A few comments I'd like to add is my ludicrous grand finale with the company, today. I had been off the site, for a year, due to all the aforementioned facts & I needed time to restore my faith in humanity. However, recently, I had discovered my profile was still intact & I was able to cruise the site, again. I suppose, I was hoping for new & improved inventory. In doing so, I was drawn to what seemed a relatively appealing gentleman, displaying the possibility of a bit of actual substance, perhaps slight intelligence & mostly... reality (a rarity).

So, I opted into the free 7-day trial for the ability to contact him (we had an exchange, but that's another chapter.) I was diligent about cancelling, especially, after having also noticed that any of last year's members, with a bit of an appeal, were still around. Members that could easily be considered highly "marketable." If not for their ability to write a semi-decent profile & utilize spell-check, but for their looks alone. How could ALL these guys still be on the site? Hard to believe, they're all sharing a low success rate & for over a year? Revelation, as I was naive enough to go out with some of them - they were, systematically playing - serial dating with a vengeance. But, let's move on.

I called Match today to learn how to remove my credit card info. from my deactivated account. Knowing their track record & business practices, I was concerned my Visa was still on file with them. An agent & a supervisor both claimed, "for legal reasons," my payment info. would remain on file for a year from the date of the last charge. I reminded them there had not been any charges for more than 1-1/2 years. The supervisor then claimed I had not cancelled my recent 7-day trial & I had been charged, again. When I questioned her & mentioned I still had the email confirming the cancellation, she suddenly switched gears & claimed she was reading the wrong account info.

I commended her on such an error & insisted I speak to someone with little more competence as she had just provided me with, yet another reason for the need to protect my financial info. She proceeded her attempts to rationalize the absurdity, then suggested I fax or email their financial dept. Instead, upon Match's request for feedback on their service, I finally, called them out, regarding their business practices, their inability to better screen/monitor their members & their activities & my rights as a consumer. As a result, I discovered, they blocked me off the site. Match allows scamming on their site because THEY ARE the principal scammers. No love lost (nor found, lol).

I purchased a 6 month subscription to Match.com on April 3, 2015 in the amount of $131.94. On June 3, 2015 Match.com terminated my account, according to them, because I violated their terms of use. I was informed via e-mail. When I asked for an explanation, I was told that I needed a valid subpoena, search warrant, or court order directed to Match.com. I filed a Civil Suit against Match.com June 29, 2015. My court date is this Friday July 31, 2015 at 1:00 p.m.

How can they have the corner on what is deemed "breach of agreement" if we, the paying customers, don't EVER GET THE CHANCE TO SEE WHAT MATCH.COM DETERMINED AS A BREACH OF AGREEMENT. IN other words, we the paying customers MAY NEVER HAVE BREACHED this agreement, but Match.com gets to keep our money, no questions asked? It seems unlawful and unfair that this is how Match.com operates, and I think a full legal investigation by any and all customers in my situation should pursue.

Updated on 10/13/2015: To follow up, I filed a civil suit locally here in NJ against Match.com and despite a scathing report from the Match.com "Legal Department" which included a PROMISE THEY WOULD FLY FROM TEXAS TO NJ TO REPRESENT the company - They did NOT show on the day of the trial, and I was awarded a full refund plus court costs by the judge. I have been writing, e-mailing and calling the "Legal Department" reminding them of the summary judgement against them and that they owe me my membership fee of $131.00 plus court fees of $40.00. Of course they haven't responded. But I would like everyone to know that at least you can file against Match.com in a local civil court near you, and win!

Collecting my money - Well I am still trying. But the main point I wanted to make here is that, this crazy paralegal from Philadelphia wrote to Match and told them I should be kicked off of their site for an argument that happened on our own time in our own private residence. Match.com reserves the right to terminate your account even if they deem your behavior inappropriate off of the website. This to me is absurd. Not only were there no witnesses to this "argument", but Match.com took my money. No questions asked. This is absurd! Fight Match.com tooth and nail for your money!

Based on evaluation this website is now roughly 50% complete **, and I do not say this lightly. I evaluate things closely. Fake profiles, scammers, false positives. I am literally getting at least 10+ winks/likes/favorites A DAY.

This online dating company is using old profiles to try to goad young gullible men into to opening their wallets for subscriptions for people who do not exist, for one night stands and "getting lucky". How do I know this? I actually have confirmed this information with people I have dated! They stated they literally have had their profiles "stolen". When they went offline and decided to take a break, because they all of sudden when they got back they had 1000s of hits when there should be NONE. I do have countless requests to travel to the ends of the earth to meet men who are sure are my "soulmate", pictures of 80 year old men with the shirts off, 30 year gigolos who are sure I should consider being a cougar, lots of winks from lonely farmers in the Midwest (that would be 1500 miles from me), and the occasional Nigerian prince.

All of the men I see are gorgeous, make over $150,000 a year and are entrepreneurs... Wow! And they can't find a date? This week's fun has included a rash of new "members" who all reside in a primarily industrial section of the state... It just goes on and on. As soon as I question one of these men, they disappear. I report men on a daily basis to Match.com, yet they are still around. I email Match.com on a daily basis and get the same politically correct party line... I am not sure if this site can help me. I have heard from authorities that if you are victim of dating scam no one can do anything to help you. In 2012, I sign up at Match.com, I never needed to go for those dating sites for finding someone that could be an important person in my life. But I was ending a marriage that last for 23 years and it was a very complicated and stressful divorce. I was in Texas, a place that I have just arrived for living with my 2 disabled daughter. I spent for 20 years in South Florida where I have my friends. In Texas, I found myself totally alone. I was there because my ex husband had to be relocated for his job. I decided to sign up and at least find someone to talk. What a bad idea!

Well, at the first week there, I received an email, someone interesting in starting a conversation. At that time, I did not have the idea to check about Match.com reviews. I thought this person was real. He wrote all and everything that I need to hear from a man. Seemed to be a dream! He said he was in Europe for a business and soon come back to USA. After about 6 months contacting him over the phone and emails he asked me for a favor. He said his wallet was stolen in England and he end up without nothing, will take him long time to get all documents and credit cards back. He will ask a friend to send me a check and I will deposit that check and send to him. Well, the check arrived, I checked to stamp and it was coming from USA, Seattle, but a lawyer was endorsing the check to me. I deposit that check in my account.

Later on, I briefly talked to a friend about and I start getting concerned about this check. I walked to Bank of America and told them about my concerns and they told me to withdraw the money that I have into my account and wait to see what happens. I took a copy of this check and call the lawyer that endorsed to me. That lawyer was in California, and he told he knew a little bit about this man that I was in contact. Later, the check come into my account clear. Then, I start thinking that this man was not playing with me. He asked to send to his address in London (via Western Union), 2 months later, he said his son was very sick and need some help from me, he asked to send money to Nigeria, Lagos.

And months later, he said he had the money to come back USA but he was in need of a credit card to purchase. He asked to open an checking account/savings account to help him. He asked to do only at USAA bank. I suggested to make one card for him in his name. He did not like the idea, because will take longer and he need to be in USA within 3 days. He wanted me to send the fast way my debit card. I did not have time to think. I had to fast or he will not be able to be here. I sent it. After 2 days, I got a call from USAA bank saying that they close the account. I was working and on my break time I called the bank. They told me the checking account was overused for about 6 thousands and savings about 600 hundreds. I had agreement over the phone with USAA to have a 2 thousand limit on check account and no agreement was made at savings.

I called that guy and he was at this time in Spain, and ask him "what happened?" Afterwards, he did not contact me anymore. I left Texas because I was getting weird calls at night time. Different people calling saying they know all about me, where I live, trying to scare me. I had walked to Garland police department, made a report but I was told they could do anything since I was not forced to give this man my money. I called FBI no one returned my call. I had a few information on my hand about this situation - address where I sent my money, some of phone numbers, his email address and I did check at a site called Spokeo to check for more information about him. And yes, on this site showed who really scammed you, and the picture there is accurate.

I found out that there isn't anyone trying to help people that were scammed. I know I was scammed by a African man and USA lawyer. Also, USAA have important information that could help me but they just don't care. I end up losing about 8 thousands in cash plus USAA debit 6 thousands in a check account plus 600 hundred savings. What is your best suggestion to me? Is there anyone trying to help people that were nice, decent and honest but once in their lives were stupid to believe in those online dating scammed criminals? No one is going to nothing to stop those people stealing decent Americans?

To all the former frustrated and confused Match customers: I wasn't going to post anything as I rarely do anything of this nature. I have to be pretty T'd off to show up in this fashion. After reading all the comments for well over an hour, it's clear I'm in the majority. This is in response to Austin in Mesa, AZ's message and to raise my voice against this company. In the end Match did me a favor, but to put them in their place, I will pursue this since I have the means to do so and then some. Do I have better things to do with my time, YES. But out of principle I need to do this for those that can't. I hope you will do the same.

I was also cancelled for no reason and the auto responder (canned message) made no sense to me. In fact, it was offensive! I wrote a very long response with no feedback. I wrote again, with no feedback. At first I thought my account was hacked or something. I'm a responsible, educated, stable woman that's well respected in my community and beyond. I have donated thousands of hours to needy causes and still do. I attend church and pay my bills on time. I'm even friendly with my ex-husband! I responded to all Match member messages with a polite communication.

I truly had no idea what could have been the issue. So I called yesterday and while the call center couldn't understand why this happened and assured me that my account would be re-activated, he then came back after putting me on hold and said that corporate would get back to me within 24 hours with a response. The bottom line is they did and they still won't give a reason, didn't re-activate the account. I have no doubt that the majority of individuals drop their complaints with Match beyond posting and calling a few times. That's what they are banking on. Like gym memberships. They are purchased and a good majority of the customers never use them.

I have waited a long time (after being a single mom and raising my son) to start dating again. It was also at the insistence of many friends that I was a terrific woman that deserved to find a great guy. So off I went and chose Match as my entry point. I will say I connected with a variety of men that seemed to be a good fit for me and were expecting to connect with me. Now I'm sure they think I just blew them off. It's a shame as this affects more than just me. It triggers a chain of events. In reality, Match doesn't seem to care about any of its members. Wouldn't you agree? Just another corporate giant that's out to line their pockets and laugh all the way to the bank!

In today's world where more and more consumers are voting with their dollar vs. their ballot one would think this company would sit up and take notice that in the end, they will feel the pinch. Maybe not now, not tomorrow, but I do believe in Karma! There is a wave of conscientiousness that is palatable these days. Companies like Starbucks, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's and so many more are being led by CEO's that go out of their way to serve the customer and community.

Just yesterday I had an incident with Capitol One. They were wonderful and actually gave me a $30.00 credit on my account to acknowledge my inconvenience. I didn't raise my voice, I didn't threaten or pitch a fit. I didn't even ask for anything. They offered! I simply was trying to get some info on my account and the customer service rep immediately got his supervisor on the phone when he couldn't address my issue. No excuses, just went to the source to serve the customer. Sprint also cleaned up their act after many years of poor customer service and is now stellar with the customers needs. I think the CEO of Match needs to take notice don't you. It all starts at the top and trickles down to create a climate in a company.

So, next steps for me are to pursue a few options that I have at my disposal. One is legal, one is investigative and the other is my own profession. As a media strategist that has worked with dating and relationship experts, as well as a competitor to Match for their PR needs, I can assure all others that have been dealt with so unfairly that I will be stirring up the pot to get them to at least feel a pinch. For me, I count myself lucky and will spend my money elsewhere. Where the customer is appreciated, problems are addressed and answers are given to reasonable questions.

Best of luck to all reading this and experiencing their own frustrations. If we ban together and raise our collective voice in a number of ways (i.e. Twitter, FB and the like) shift can happen. It won't happen with a class action suit, but by raising awareness. Besides, look at the fine print you signed off on. No class action suits allowed. Seriously, they anticipate it and create the back door in advance. Another giant can experience a wake up call while the average Joe feels heard and acknowledged. I don't think anyone wants anything more than what they are entitled to. Wouldn't you agree? Best of luck to all with their search to find a partner and not through Match.com. Hey, a former client just inked a deal with Steve Harvey. Steve Harvey just launched his own dating and relationship website. I think I should share this with them, don't you?

When I go to view the profile it is hidden. This has happened the last 15 of 18 times I have been contacted. I also just received a chat request from a guy that struck up a conversation. We had just started to talk and he left the conversation. Then he was back in a new conversation trying to give me his number to text him. Then he left and came back a third time and said hi. I responded hi and he was gone.

I think I have wasted my money on this site. It has been nothing but frustrating. Many of the matches are so far away that I'm really not interested. If I respond that to someone they say they are relocating to my state right away and want me to show them around. I chatted online with a woman from Match.com today and she was no help whatsoever but said she would pass on my suggestions. Don't see that happening. I signed up for 6 month guarantee where if you don't find a Match in that time, you get an additional 6 months for free. I noticed after the 6 months that I was charged full price again. When I finally got a hold of the representative, she said "you must notify Match a week before expiration of your intention to take advantage of the free 6 months". In other words, you have to affirmatively tell them you want the free subscription that you already signed up for and earned! I asked why anyone decide to pay full price for something they're already entitled to for free?! No answer. No refund. Complete scam.

Oh, yes, Virginia, there IS a Santa Claus clause. I just finished a three-way phone call between a match.com rep, the claims department of my favorite bank (it's one of the 'big three' and has a short name.. I love 'em) and myself. If you read the TOS (terms of service) agreement it clearly states in paragraph 4 that you may CANCEL your subscription any time but there are no no no refunds.

Well, maybe. The young lady we spoke to, my bank rep and I, let's call her "Dotty" from match.com, said "IF he (me, their customer) had called on the FIRST or SECOND DAY of their membership by calling (800) 926-2824 or 1-800-326-5161 Monday - Friday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM CDT (hint: DON'T SIGN UP ON FRIDAY OR SATURDAY.)... WE WOULD HAVE MADE AN EXCEPTION FOR (HIM)."

Unquote. It's recorded, the bank has it on (digital?) tape so it's verifiable. So there ya go. Call within TWO DAYS of signing up and it sorta kinda looks like they'll give you your money back. Well, that's what "Dotty" said, anyway. I rather doubt anyone's ever heard of this. It's a BUYER'S REMORSE contingency, it seems. But only-within-that timeframe.

Sorry this wasn't posted somewhere (anywhere) sooner, I do the best I can. Please re-post this info on as many sites as possible. Thanks, and caveat emptor is the rule of the day. That's Latin for "if it looks too good to be true, you can bet your bippy it is, so STOP and THINK before you subscribe to ANYTHING online." Take care, and please post if this works for you. Or doesn't. - MatchCritic

Joined Match.com approx. 2 years ago, due to its ostensibly enormous popularity. Cancelled but then renewed my membership numerous times during the past 2 years. Am a late 30's ** female, exceptionally attractive (Yes, for real!), look younger than my chronological age, very long red hair, am fit, healthy, intelligent, divorced, full-time employed, hard-working, own my home and my car. Have many pastimes and interests. Independent & self-made. No kids, no drugs, smoking, drinking, gambling, and never had any criminal charges or bankruptcies. Never been committed under the Mental Health Act, either. Therefore, definitely NOT a loser and certainly a better dating prospect than most. All my photos are very good and are an accurate depiction of my appearance, plus have received many "likes".

Admittedly, I am rather selective regarding whom I wish to invest my time and energy into meeting. Being of high quality myself, it is fair to require the same in return. Time and again, this has been the pattern for me on Match.com: Will find males' profiles who appear to meet my standards, and who seem to be promising prospects. Send them notice of my interest in them. Rarely is there any response received. When there actually 'is', things seem to be going well and then, boom: The prospects' profiles are suddenly hidden and/or all communication comes to a screeching, unexplained halt. This has happened many, many times. Hard to understand, because I have nothing sinister to hide. The pattern on Match.com suggests that the profiles were fake. Only had two actual in-person dates within the past few years via Match.com, and they were both duds.

The males who eagerly initiated contact with me (whom I haven't already contacted) were virtually always UGLY, obese, unemployed or barely employed, short, bald, too old, post no photos, are outside of my own race (I will ONLY date ** men), are just after sex, or have zero in common with me. All my preferences and requirements are made abundantly clear in my profile. So all this time, I've been forking out money to hear only from totally undesirable, ugly, dirt-poor, ** old losers, or from fake profiles. The men (dozens of them!) who seem so promising whom I initiate contact with virtually never respond to me, or when they do their profiles are always suddenly hidden and there's no further contact.

Whenever I cancelled my membership, oh, that's when all sorts of winks & messages are received. So I got lured back to renew my membership in order to find out who sent the communications. Yep, you guessed it! Just a bunch of canned nonsense from more ugly, fat losers or fake profiles (responses from more than 400km away, from dubious-sounding males). I've given Match.com more than ample opportunity (2 years!!!), and it's not as though 'I' am the least bit undesirable or that 'I' haven't put forth ample effort. That said, I refuse to compromise my standards and would much prefer to be alone than stuck with the wrong person. The pathology over the course of 2 years clearly suggests that Match.com is using quite a few bogus, money-grabbing tactics. It's best not to bother joining.

I've had pictures that were perfectly mundane shots of me doing nothing special, fully clothed in normal clothing with nothing remotely odd going on... kicked back as a violation of TOS.

The last straw happened moments ago. My account was suspended without listing a cause. I've never posted a risque photo, or spoken impolitely with anyone. My acct was active for more than 6 weeks during which time I never violated any policy... their's or mine. Now they claim they can terminate your acct at their discretion... without disclosing a reason, or issuing a refund!!!! When I called, nobody could give me an answer as to why this occurred. I have used match on and off throughout the years and it was OK. With any online dating site you need to put in some effort in searching out potential matches, carrying on email conversations, etc. but I did meet a few people on the site. I returned to the site recently (7/2015) and was inundated with chat requests from fake accounts, likes, and being favorited from many hidden profiles with most of them from out of state. The fake chats are especially annoying and usually follows the same pattern. A member whose profile you cannot view or has one picture wants to chat with you. After some small talk they want to go off site and ask for your email address or cell number. I had one "member", after I refused to give out my offsite info, offer to send me some links so I could view their pictures.

The link they sent me (through chat) was for some other domain and they said I needed to enter my match credentials in order to view their pictures. I asked them why I needed to do that and they said that match had given them the links! It was clearly a phishing scheme to get my match account info and take over the account. I don't know why match has allowed their site to deteriorate to this point but at this rate they are going to have less and less real members because the user experience is so bad. I'll probably see if I can make some connections with some real members but I won't have anything to do with them after my subscription ends. They should be doing more to make finding real people easier and safer. Instead the site is sinking into a scammer free for all.

I finally wrote a letter and sent it "return request receipt", otherwise I don't think I would have heard back. I attached an email I had tried to send to their Customer Complaint email address that did not reach the destination that they provide. When both my parents became ill, I knew my subscription was almost up, so I followed their cancellation instructions completely, even answering when they asked me why I was leaving. I did that one week before my last day of my subscription and on my last day to make sure I was taken off Match. A week later I saw they had automatically renewed my subscription and charged my account. I had difficulty reaching any of their employees that spoke English well. They didn't say anything other than a prepared script they were trained to say.

I was then sent to the de-escalation department (that should tell you something right there). Obviously I'm not the only unhappy customer. They were also of no help even though she admitted that she could see I had cancelled some of their services. As far as I knew, I only had one service, but they make it next to impossible to know that. They refused to refund my money and were less than customer oriented.

The way they categorize it advertising is misleading. While it says $18.99 a month it does NOT indicate you are going to be charged the year UP FRONT. I would have never agreed to this nor do I have $238 laying around for a dating site. I do not remember seeing the $238 until it was confirmed through paypal.

I immediately called the merchant indicating the error to which I received a snotty "sorry no refunds" and “I'm sorry about your situation." Really? I could see if I was on the site trying to find a match and then found someone called after 30 days and wanted to cancel but I called immediately! I don't even have $238 in my account to cover this charge. I immediately disputed through paypal since the merchant even after speaking to a supervisor indicated no refunds would be given. This was an honest mistake. I even went back and looked at their advertising. They advertise "free" membership yet you get nothing with that. I renewed my account with Match because I got some strange emails, after not renewing my subscription for an extended period of time and no correspondence from Match, that made it seem that I was getting a free trial period. It was very deceiving. When I renewed my subscription, my account could not be updated. I could not delete old pictures that I did not like and could not add new pictures. I attempted to accomplish this many times and would receive emails confirming that my new pictures had been approved and were now visible on my profile. However, when I went to my profile it had diverted back to the pictures that were 5 years old and the one I deleted would be back on my account. I talked with three separate customer service representatives that argued with me and said my pictures have to meet "Match's" quality criteria and apparently mine had not.

I explained I had even received emails that claimed they were approved and the one I deleted kept reappearing on my profile. They said on their end they could see my pictures were updating just fine. I tried to explain, "NO", that is the pictures from 5 years ago. I could not and did not use this account during this frustrating same day that I tried to get someone to realize my account was not functioning or giving me the services I paid for. I asked that my subscription be refunded since my account could not be updated, as I get very upset if I meet someone and they have pictures from years ago, therefore my account was of no use to me. They said I would have to dispute it with my credit union but I would be blocked for life from Match if I did that. I was immediately blocked from Match on May 6, 2015.

I disputed it with my credit union and received provisional credit. On July 6th, the provisional credit was reversed and I was charged again. So now I have been blocked from any account usage by Match since the day I subscribed, same day I was charged, I cancelled and requested credit, AND did not use, and Match is charging me for the entire subscription while I have been blocked from my Match account from the very beginning of the subscription. I used my credit card to pay for the subscription but Match put it through as a debit transaction because it hadn't even gone through until after this encounter. I believe they did that on purpose to effect my dispute abilities. What can I do?

I have used Match.com on and off for a few years. It was above the boards in the beginning, but as time went by, greed took over and it became a "Bait and Switch". I understand of course that profit is the motivating factor behind any business venture, and I fully endorse it. However, there is a point when greed surpasses morality and the venture becomes dishonest... Match.com passed that line miles ago!!!

    Q: Are the profiles real?

A: Yes, for the most part. They do however have false profiles (Bots) in the system designed to deceive the potential user. When a potential customer posts a "FREE" profile, he/she will be inundated with winks, likes, and email from other users. (Some are from real paying users) You can't read them nor see who they're from unless you pay to join. As soon as you do, and try to reply to these goddesses from all around your area, "Surprise!!!" Suddenly 90% of them don't exist. This is what's known as a "bait and switch." It is in fact illegal, but to pursue any legal course simply isn't worth the individual's effort. When you cancel your subscription, the BOTS are again activated and you are hit again with false replies. Never mind you didn't hear from a soul the entire time you were a paying member.

Q: Can you communicate with other members?

A: Yes... Sorta'. You paid right? You should be able to email anyone you like right? WRONG!!! You can send an email to anyone you like... and they will receive it if their profile was not intentionally deactivated (hidden or deleted) by the user. However, unless the recipient is a paying member, they can't open it nor respond. (BUT YOU PAID WITH THE EXPECTATION OF BEING ABLE TO SEND EMAILS AND RECEIVE A RESPONSE) Also, unless the user deletes or hides their profile upon quitting the site, it remains visible. That means that about 90% of the profiles you are viewing belong to users who no longer visit the site... and of the ones that do, only paying members can be contacted and respond (I don't know, but that's probably only a couple percent of the profiles you are viewing)

Q: Can anybody browse my profile?

A: Yes. HOWEVER... This is the part that pissed me off the most. Now you can pay for "Top Spot". That means that you can pay extra (it ain't cheap) to show up in the searches during peak traffic times. Essentially, what that means is that unless you pay extra, almost no one will see your profile when browsing (especially in urban and metropolitan areas). It's exactly the same a paying to skip the line at an amusement park.

I get it... Really!! It's truly brilliant and creates an unbelievable revenue stream for Match.com. I do applaud them for that, but in reality it's a "guerrilla warfare business tactic"... and it preys on the emotions of the public. From a consumer standpoint, you're getting hosed. As long as you know the aforementioned information going into it... Go for it. It is what it is... it does work (as well as shopping for love in a false reality can... everyone's lying).

I was on Match.com a while back and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone! First, they lure you in by letting you set up a profile then while you're debating about actually subscribing; they send you these flirts from attractive females. So once they get your money, you find out that all those so called attractive females were just scammers who sneak on, make you their favorite, then leave a yahoo or text me at #. The whole dating website concept is just a scam, because the attractive women are too stuck on themselves, and actually expect prince charming to come take them away, and the below average looking females are the ones who sends you all the flirts and messages.

But I recommend for people to use PayPal instead of credit cards. That way you can put the amount you want to spend on it and Match.com can't automatically renew you, because you only had a 3 month subscription amount on the card. I got tired of the bs and I had Match take my profile down, and they actually put my money back on my PayPal account. So buyer beware of Match.com or just keep expectations very low.

Having been on Match.com for only a few days I am inundated with winks and IM requests from fake profiles. I finally figured out why. They have two features that can generate additional revenue over and above your monthly subscription. One is the Guarantee email which you pay a $9.99 extra per month and the IM feature texting which is 33 cents per. Thus employees of Match are largely paid a commission (is my guess) to get unsuspecting clients to converse with their fake profiles. For all you know you could be talking to a male behind a female profile. I caught several in the act by outing them. Asking their real age.

Then they stop conversing. Sometimes an obvious pix of a 25 year old is displayed, but the age of person on profile stating age 57. All the fake profiles are highly attractive women. So unless you are a young Brad Pitt it is unlikely I could be getting dozens of IM requests from real women. Also nearly every fake profile says they are looking for a guy age 35-79 and want a male within height 3 ft to 8 ft 1". The rest of their profile is hardly filled in as if in a hurry. Missing about 80 percent of the info. So it is quite obvious the scam is on.

This is one of the worsts if not the WORST dating sites I've ever used! I sent out HUNDREDS of messages - some short, some long and personalized, and I didn't get any results. Don't waste your money. I paid 120 for Match.com and 40 Dollars to get a professional review written. It said it would be in within 3-5 days, but I didn't ever hear back from them in spite of putting a lot of work into my answers.

On top of that I received a warning email that said they would ban my account, and then they banned my account before I even sent out another email!!! They wouldn't tell me what email, but I didn't push the line in any of my emails! They more than likely just banned me because I was sending out too many emails, but WTF else am I supposed to do if I'm not getting replied? I'm so pissed off about it. I want to report them to the Better Business Bureau as well. Their site was terrible. What's worse is that they banned me from their site before I even had a chance to meet anyone. I cancelled my automatic renewal with them - after I received some very unwelcome messages. However, they still charged me a renewal fee of over £77. When I called I was met with a very rude assistant who called me a liar and stated that the cancellation had never happened - not that their system was faulty. I have recently read online that this is a common occurrence with Match.com - so it is obvious that they just want money and are scamming people! I was spoken to with rudeness and a general disdain. I signed up for Match.com at the end of last year because they offered a 6 month guarantee. Immediately after joining, I began getting "winks" and messages from very desirable dating members. Because my account was linked to their mobile application on my phone, I was able to immediately respond to the winks and messages. In all cases, even after responding nearly instantaneously, the profiles were inactive. Match.com then offered to show you lists of other members. This practice can only be described as a "bait and switch" meant to lead you to believe that you are getting more value and exposure than you actually are.

The subscription continued and I made an honest effort of looking and reading profiles, sending thoughtful messages and not generic canned responses. The amount of responses I got was ridiculously low. Mind you, I'm no Brad Pitt, but I am in good shape for my age, athletic and active. Virtually, no responses which leads to the next questionable business practice. In my own experience, and the experience of many others on various complaint sites, Match.com has a practice of leaving profiles up online even after cancellation which gives members and potential members a belief that the overall active membership is much greater. In my own experience, after being explicitly told that my membership was cancelled, I logged in to find that it was still active.

As the membership neared the end of the term, communication from Match tapered off. I guess presumably so that members don't begin to think about using the six-month guarantee. Speaking of the guarantee, it is only redeemable in the last 6 days of the membership, days 174-180. Otherwise, Match will do nothing to honor it. What's the point of aggressively advertising that you have a six month guarantee and then making it virtually impossible to collect on? This seems to be a questionable business practice and I wonder how many members were ever able to jump through all the hoops necessary to collect on it... And finally, I make it a practice to turn off auto-renew.

Now, I have a number of companies that bill on an annual basis; my iCloud with Apple, my Amazon Prime account. In all cases, I receive an email from the vendor saying that my service is up for renewal and that my account will be debited such an amount and on such day with plenty of time to make any adjustments. Not so with Match.com, despite turning off auto-renew, they have your credit card number and a license to steal. Not an email, a phone call, or even a text message like I get from Verizon. I guess Match.com is not very proud of the value it offers its members, because they sure don't want them thinking about the decision to renew. In summary, Match.com exercises several severely questionable business practices for a company of its stature. After all, according to them, they have led to more dates, relationships and marriages... I'd love to see this validated.

This review is only about the money side of this scam, not the quality or availability of matches. Beware! They auto renew you and claim you should have known because it's buried in their fine print. They claim it's to benefit their customers, but we all know that is not true. There is a 6-month guarantee, but if you don't email 5 times per month, keep an approved picture visible and leave your profile visible 100% of the time then your guarantee is void. These details are also buried in the fine print. I highly suggest you read the fine print or better yet, choose a more customer-friendly site. When I called to ask to be cancelled and for a refund they said, "We can't." I politely reminded them there is a difference in "can't" and "won't" to which he replied, "I won't. Read your contract." Wow, this site is the biggest scam I have ever seen in my life. Register and find a bunch of pretty girls with fake profiles. I did a Google image search and these girls were professional model from Europe or huge Instagram girls. I report all these fake profiles and weeks later Match does absolutely nothing with these fake profiles. They just leave them up. I cancelled my membership due to this and suddenly I start getting tons of winks, emails and interests. Amazing because when I was on there I got like none.

Almost a year later I get a 50% offer so I click the link and join again hoping for something better. But when I click the link my credit card gets declined. Try another card, then another and the same thing happens. Knowing that my cards are fine and verifying with my bank, I live chat with tech support who tells me there is no 50% off promo and the system is rejecting. I ask him for his email so I can send him the offer which I had received. The rep tells me he doesn't need to see the offer as it doesn't exist but he will look into it. Comes back and says to try another credit card obviously not listening to what I told him about the cards being fine. I politely tell him thank you with the intention of picking up the phone and calling back a live person.

I get an email the following day with an attachment of the live chat saying my account has been terminated, lol. Not one swear word or even a negative attitude. They obviously didn't want to honor the 50% off email promo I got.

TL:DR - Site sucks, tons of fake profiles. They won't take down fake profiles. When you cancel you will get more winks and emails than when you were a member. When you complain or question and policy they terminate you.

I previously signed up for a short subscription with Match.com. After limited success and having found someone the old fashioned way, I deactivated my account, turning off all notifications and canceling auto-renewal. Turns out Match.com didn't properly process the cancellation and continued billing me for another year (Admittedly, I should have been more diligent in reviewing my statement on a monthly basis, but I trust that cancellations with any reputable company are properly processed). I stumbled across the charges on my credit card statement and immediately called in to dispute the issue. The representative indicated he was only able to refund the most recent charge, but the prior charges (4 charges at $76/charge) were outside of his control. I then requested to speak with his supervisor.

His supervisor was of no help and indifferent to my problem. He placed the blame on me for not receiving a confirmation email of my cancellation (How is the consumer supposed to know how Match.com's cancellation process works?) and refused to refund any further charges. This despite my account remaining inactive for more than a year. Instead, he indicated that there was nothing he could do for me and coldly wished me a good day. In sum, watch out for Match.com. Its recurring charges did not show up on Apple Pay alerts, hence the reason this went on for so long without me knowing. Even if you attempt to cancel recurring billing, ensure that you receive a confirmation email otherwise Match will act as though your account was not canceled, will continue billing you, and will not refund your money. This is despicable behavior, but I guess it should be (unfortunately) expected in this day and age.

Having been a former member and having gone thru the subscribing process I quickly understood what may have happened in light of my experience. I got and paid for what I intended, one month for approx. $36. I do recall having spent a GOOD amount of time and CONCENTRATION in the enrollment screens as I found them confusing and ones which I misunderstood the first time upon reading them. I spent 4-6 minutes to review the options presented and the options/buttons defaulted or selected, and additionally made sure I was well aware of what I did and did not want as far as length and additional add-on for my subscription.

TAKE EXTRA TIME AND REVIEW THE SUBSCRIPTION SCREENS CLOSELY is my feedback to anyone considering joining. In some cases the defaulted buttons/selections led me to think I had to buy what was in reality was just an option/add-on. I also had to be attentive to what length I was signing up for since once subscribed, and as match makes clear, no partial or pro-rated refunds. Take those words seriously. For my situation I found it more price effective to simply buy just a month at a time. Heck when signing up I figured if I need 3, 6, or 12 months to find a match then maybe a longer subscription or any guarantee would be of no benefit...to me that is. For example, why would I want another 3 months if I had just spent 3 months with no success? The additional 3 months, in my case, in my opinion, were of absolutely no logical value.

I had never heard of scammers on dating sites, so I was unaware of the fact that I was giving my personal feelings to a scammer. I got suspicious when he asked for two cell phones. I googled Sgt ** and found many Yahoo aliases, very easily. How could Match.com not care about their customers and let in such a well-known fake person, whose only intention is to scam people?

The next person was **, who also posed as a US military soldier in Afghanistan. As I saw him on webcam, he had a US army uniform, with two stars, indicating two missions in Syria. I thought for sure, this guy is real. Nope. He too was a scammer and ended up asking me for money. The third guy, **, supposedly working on an offshore oil rig, was also a scammer. I found out by hiring a private detective, who found the pictures he sent me on a 2009 Australian dating website, and also a picture from a National Geographic photographer he said was him, on the rig.

I was very suspicious of these people, so thankfully, I did not talk more than a week or so with each one. I do not believe any of the people on Match.com who say they are a soldier, are actually a soldier. I think they find it easy to win a woman's trust, as everyone knows it is easy to trust a soldier, as they put their lives on the line for their country. All the more the shame on Match.com, for not protecting the integrity of these people. What if there was a true soldier who needed to meet someone, and was unable to due to the mistrust that these scammers are creating?!

What a waste of my emotional energy and time! Never mind the fact that when I took my computer in to be de-bugged, wipe out all info and re-install everything, I got an email from Match.com that my subscription was renewed. What troubles me is the minute I cancelled it, I received every day from Match that somebody was interested in me either from a wink, like or e-mail. I did not want to pay attention to it until a couple months later I called them and asked if my profile was still showing, and they said yes! How could this be since I cancelled the membership. This is very deceiving to active viewers, and make me look bad because I am not answering. What about if I decide to rejoin later, and those who tried to contact me while I was inactive will think of me as a loser. Or it could be that no one was trying to contact me and it was all a scam from match to lure me back.

I used Match.com about 6 months back for their trial period and then cancelled it before I would get charged, and now I find they charged me $75 for a three-month subscription when I haven't touched their website since I cancelled it 6 months ago. I called and they won't refund me the money.

At first I thought I was accepting a discounted membership for a subscription. I quickly learned my membership which I had every intention of cancelling was extended ($96 total). I called customer service and was told "Subscription fees are NON refundable!!!" WHAT? VERY SHADY!!! I asked to speak to a supervisor. No surprise... none available! It seems ** were all on break together??? I'm then told to call back within 45 minutes??? Play phone tag... or whatever because Match.com doesn't return calls. Then after waiting on hold... I'm told I'll get a partial refund. So, in other words my elevated BP could probably been avoided? All the rep had to do was provide good customer service. Gee... is that so hard?

Now I have to spend more of my valuable time trying to get my hard earned money back... that was so underhandedly stolen from me. Not to mention the time it will take on social media to make other innocent customer aware of the shady tactics MATCH.COM uses. THANKS A LOT MATCH.COM for the trickery and horrible customer service.

In March of 2015 I called and "canceled" my unauthorized/fraudulent - fake account at WMV*Match.com - confirmation number and all. I was told my $80.47 would be refunded - never happened. But, I thought it's done. Nope, here it is June 11th and they did it AGAIN! $80.47 - this is the 2nd unauthorized/fraudulent charge to my account from WMV*Match.com. I am having to go to bank and cancel my debit card and get a new one - which will of course have a fee. That was the only money I had for food and gas - thank God I have family to help. I hope whomever did this is caught and may they reap what they sow.

I signed up for Match.com and was under the impression I was going to get charged 19.99 a month for a subscription. Instead I was charge $119 for the entire amount in full. When I called to ask for a refund I was not granted one, and told that even though they were capable of making a refund they would not grant mine. I feel robbed, and will be sure to read everything in the future.

This is the ONLY review I have written in my life and with good reason; I do not have the time to sit and write lengthy letters of praise or complaint unless it is truly warranted. I paid for a 3 month membership and before my 3 months had come to an end I followed viewing instructions to ensure that I would no longer be charged and my membership would not be renewed. My profile stated that my membership had been "paid" for three months under the "renewal" column and so I assumed that would mean my membership would come to a close after said three months. This did not happen as I was still receiving emails from members after I assumed my membership had come to a close.

I figured that I had maybe missed something and decided that maybe this was my error, so I decided to hang tight for another month and call this time, as opposed to trust what their website was telling me, to cancel my membership. Upon calling well before the month was over, I was advised that my membership had "automatically been renewed" for another 3-month term and that there was no way to get a refund. I am completely befuddled at the level of scamming and dishonesty that this company thrives on. Not only are they cryptic with renewal and cancellation policies, but are deceptive to the utmost degree to make a buck.

This is beyond despicable and just bad business. I can live without the approximately $70 membership fee that they scammed for a second term, but I am absolutely disgusted at their antics and lack of transparency. This is a company that clearly does not stand by its service or its customers and feels that the only way to make money is to "trick" people into giving it to them. Very disappointing experience.

I used Match once before about two years ago and was able to effectively cancel prior to the end of the trial phase. So when I thought I would give it another shot, a year or so later, I was sure I would be able to do the same (even though I saw other reviews of unhappy clients). All seemed fine and I did stay with them for a month or two after the trial phase was finished, but then notified them of my desire to cancel my membership. I had a very difficult time finding any clear or simple way of canceling but after working through what felt like a purposefully confusing required maneuvers to do so, thought I had finally got it cancelled.

Now several months later, I am finding them trying to charge my credit card again. So once again I am trying to navigate the perils of getting a hold of someone at Match and at the time of this posting, have had no luck. Each e-mail is met with more rhetoric from Match's robo replies. It is my opinion that I would not trust this dating site, as it seems that they wish to keep their clients stuck in its dysfunctional and dishonest (again, my personal opinion) relationship. Wish me luck that they will stop charging me. :-(

I reactivated my profile briefly because I was considering reusing Match.com again to pursue dating. However, in the brief time I was online updating my profile, I was extremely disappointed with the services provided. Older, outdated photos of me that I deleted at least 2x were reinstalled into my profile. Newer, more up-to-date photos of me were either not approved, or their intended captions were placed with the older outdated photos. I reserve the right to use whatever photo I wish to portray myself as the primary photo and as long as it falls into Match.com's terms of service of "acceptable photos." The photo I wanted on as my primary photo did not contain: Nudity, sheer/see-through clothing, sexuality; Drawings, caricatures or other illustrations; Copyrighted images; Identifying information (i.e. license plates, email or web addresses, visible street address numbers, etc.); Illegal acts or violence; Minors alone in photos (without an adult included).

Furthermore, Match.com has repeatedly, with the last 24-48 hours, inputted an old group photo (originally thought to be deleted by me as old content) as my primary photo, violating its own terms of service. I received no notice, email, or communication that any of my photos were "not approved" and for what reasons they were "not approved." I had set my profile to "private" as I was not ready to reveal myself to potential Match.com singles that I was available. Yet, of the few times I have logged in, I have found my profile set to "public." I don't think I will be returning to Match.com in the future as it appears their services are too restrictive, and based on my experiences in the last 24-48 hrs, extremely sabotaging!

They are general incentive to your situation. I had cancelled my subscription. The next day when I saw that had charged me, I immediately called and told them. They said I had not properly cancelled. The rest is history. Rude customer service / VP. They refused to hear any appeals. Basically there is nothing you can do.
