I signed up my account today 02/01/2016 at 4:40 am PST and took time to fill out my profile because I'm seriously interested in finding a date. So I check my email when I woke up and noticed that I have some matches that want to talk to me. I go to the site and log-in (at 7:45 pm PST) and I am greeted with this message: "Access to your account has been blocked by Match.com. Please check your email inbox for a notification from us for more information. If you did not receive a notice, please contact us here." I never received any email explaining why I was blocked. I emailed customer support and received a response that was so far from what my problem was that I immediately replied and said, "Try again." There is no way in hell that I would give this company any money if they're going to block people for no reason at all.

I see that is a recurring problem for Match.com. They give you the impression that if you deactivate auto renew that you will just cancel. That is not the truth. In their agreement it states you must deactivate your acct or it will auto renew. It is a sneaky way to have people renew without them wanting to. When I contacted them the same day (sent an email to assure I would not renew) They renewed me anyway. Now I am charged 59.95 but they will give me back 29.99. This is a scam and is all over the internet. How they are ripping people off. Please stop this for consumers. It is wrong and deceitful, whether legal or not it is intended to fool the public.

Match.com automatically renews your membership without a grace period for cancellation. I signed up for one month and was automatically charged for a second. I did not approve the second month, however the company does not care. It was not easy to figure out how to cancel the membership and once I was able to get a hold of someone at the 1-800 number they were not willing to help me. I feel as if they robbed me and stole money from my pocket. I will never use their services again. I was considering waiting until the summer to renew but after this poor experience I will not. NEVER use this site. I do not recommend it for anyone.

I attempted to try a membership with match.com. I found that this is not a great site, not one to be accurate at least. I followed my membership plan to ensure that it would not renew automatically. I attempted to cancel my membership of which none of it apparently had gone through. I noticed another one hundred and $20 charge on my credit card. I immediately contacted match.com to cancel this and told them that I had specifically did everything I could to not renew. They put me on through to a manager of which said, "Unfortunately you can't provide us with a confirmation number and we are maintaining our charge." Worst service, worst customer service, and they make their money from stealing money due to a flawed renew process.

They use to be okay. But today the majority of the attractive profiles are complete fakes. I did google reverse image searches and all were fakes. I suspect Match employees are behind the scheme along with foreign scam artists, however it will take a group like anonymous to expose them. Ashley Madison style, men are interacting with bots and employees most likely.

It took over a month for them to send me any matches and even then it was because I complained to them. Lots of scammers. They don't pay any attention to guidelines that you put in your profile as to distance or age. Got matches from 100+ miles away and very very few from my area. If you try to contact them with a complaint they censor your message so that you cannot tell them anything they do not want to hear. Very bad site and a waste of money.

I signed up for Match.com dating site and started with a free profile. Within minutes I began to get 'likes', and I didn't even have anything on my profile yet. Then the system indicated I got email, which you need to pay for membership to see. Shortly after that I received a 'wink'. When I looked at that profile who winked at me, you could easily tell they were definitely fake, don't speak English, lived in another country, and had poor income. I then got another wink, same thing - fake.

I checked online for Match.com scam and wow! So many complaints including a federal court case for fake profiles. You know, these ** should be forced to shut down, there needs to be some oversight in these types of businesses. This is not a case of buyer beware, this is more like buyer get out your detective shield and sleuth your way through it. In any event, thankfully I never paid anything to them. In less than 12 hours I deleted my profile. I feel sorry for those poor guys and gals that get duped into paying these scammers. It's fraud, and it's illegal. But how do you stop it?

I don't mean this in a narcissistic way at all. I'm a good looking guy with plenty of friends, a good family, job, money, etc. I spent excessive amounts of time on this website and sent literally hundreds of friendly messages to [allegedly] actively dating females. I got one response from a real person. I got several other responses from robots directing me to ** sites or scammers in Asia trying to get my personal information. I paid for the upgraded experience, hoping that I would only be connected with active members. No change in results. I eventually had to file a claim with my credit card company and got my money back. Thank god for credit cards. Otherwise I would have been screwed. I think it's absolutely ridiculous that you can't pay for a month-to-month.

Then, I've tried to take down my profile twice. I keep getting emails from Match.com. Bottom Line: It's a waste of money and, worse yet, it's a huge waste of valuable time because you can count on about a 1/100 response rate. Probably a 1/1000 response rate from a serious user. My odds would be better if I just asked out random women while grocery shopping.

The site has these fake attractive female profiles that send you a wink sometimes just to keep you happy, but when you respond to the wink with a message, (you never get a response.) Avoid Match. One girl was from Russia, one was in South America, and another was in West Africa. I had talked to all 3 through emails. After awhile they had sent a sad story saying how they lost their wallet or money and they needed help. Asking me to send them money for food and hotel. That is a big money scam and I do not recommend this site to anybody. Please be aware of those situations.

The site is a total waste of money and time. I was getting numerous looks and hits (over 350) in the first 5 days. As soon as I made a complaint, all hits stopped. All winks, likes and favorites disappeared. I had several hits from people with different names but the same profile pictures and different cities. Winks were received and returned... then nothing. Only one email was responded to from a woman who had a GRADUATE DEGREE, but lacked a grasp of the English language. It became clear that this woman from "Austin" was actually a scammer in some remote no-English speaking part of the world!! To top it off, when I asked for a current selfie (she was traveling overseas), the picture included a toy dump truck in the background, which is not something you would take on a business trip. Besides the fraud, the site is filled with "pay for sex" women trying to scam you. AVOID THE SITE!!

I was on Match.com for a month. I wasn't getting reasonable response, probably because I was upfront about being in a wheelchair. I was contacted by 2 men whose profiles seemed reasonable, and I decided to stop my membership and continue talking to these two. In hindsight, their stories were similar (born in **, parents died while they were young, now in US, both Catholic, both were 'in love' with me with a few weeks). But within the last week, BOTH sent me flowers, BOTH then traveled to Africa for business and BOTH need money desperately before they can return home.

WITHIN A WEEK, the SAME SCRIPT!!! The first man implied that he was involved in some under the radar transactions that would get him arrested if he stayed there any longer. The second man has lied about how long it took him to get there (1 day per him vs. 2 to 3 days per Kayak.com) and the fact that there were no stops on his flight vs. 2 to 3, again per Kayak.com. His luggage was either stolen or lost. He wants money for a phone and laptop so that he can conclude his business and get "home" to me. I had a 6-month membership that auto-renews. I distinctly remember deselecting auto-renew because I hate that option. In addition, within a month of using the membership, I canceled because it wasn't for me. 5 months later, I had a charge for 121 dollars on my PayPal account. They claim they have no record of any of the aforementioned. I asked to speak to a manager. They requested a callback.

Meanwhile, I go into my account. See that it is "hidden", not cancelled. I cancel again. Few hours later, I notice I still don't have a cancellation email. I go back into the account. It is still "hidden" and not cancelled. I cancel again. Finally, I get an email confirmation. In this day and age when you can go in and see a user's browser history, they should be able to find my logs and find out whether I'm honest. Instead they don't care, they issue you a half refund for services you never agreed to. In other words, when their website and products don't work, they blame their customers instead of looking into the issue. That's deliberate deception.

Match.com harbors a fraudulent group when you talk to someone who saves you as a favorite claims to be from Ghana. This fraudulent group accumulates funds for illicit purposes with Match.com harboring them. Are they a terrorist group? What are these illicit funds accumulated through the guise of Match.com being used for. When you file a complaint against a user Match.com does nothing about it. I filed approximately 10 reports of fraud and they did NOTHING. Out of the 1st 15 times I was emailed by one of their fraudulent users all were from Ghana. My experience was ruined by Match.com's harboring of these fraudulent users asking for money.

It's the same story. "I grew up in the USA but my father or mother died and now I am in Ghana. Is distance a problem to find true love?" None of them speak proper English and have a picture of a beautiful woman. All of them send you compromising photos of themselves, another violation of Match.com's terms. However, along with the fraud they also allow this too. I was discontinued due to my complaints and their refusal to fix their rampant problem under the guise EXCESSIVE UNWANTED COMMUNICATIONS TO ANOTHER MATCH MEMBER GENERAL REPORT. Need to subpoena Match.com, llc to get the information for my dismissal. I never emailed any member excessively and never received any warning, only dismissal saying I would not get my money back. I'm innocent. I did not do this.

Match.com is a company who harbors fraudulent activity from a group NOT from the USA and when you file a fraud complaint NOTHING is done about it. They do nothing to eliminate these frauds and allow them to operate illicitly on their site. Is it ISIS??? What is this money collected used for with Match.com harboring them. This group is making millions of American dollars while Match.com allows it. As a matter of fact are they in on this and receiving a cut for allowing them to operate on their site? I asked all these questions to Match.com in my fraud reports to be shunned by their so-called "security". Lol.

I was not able to give this site of zero stars or a negative number but this would have been accurate. Prosecution by the proper authorities with refunds to all members in a class action suit would be just. If there are any lawyers who have integrity and wish to make Match.com pay all members all their assets to shut this site who harbors fraudulent activity please email me and we will subpoena all my fraud complaints and text with these Ghana members and shut this accessory to crimes again people down for good and everyone will receive their money back along with more for the crimes Match.com committed. Are there any law firms who want to make millions in an open/shut case? Contact me at **... BEWARE OF MATCH.COM.

My contract was automatically renewed for a high price when I returned. When I saw it on my credit card statement and called about it they said that I did not qualify for their 6 month guarantee because I did not email a certain number of people a month.

I didn't think that there were strict requirements and could not find their guarantee requirements in my email. I asked when they emailed the requirements to me and they said it's on their site. I said that I'm on their site and don't see any guarantee rules. They kept telling me to click on things and never could get to any page that outlined whatever rules there are. Now I'm charged a $150 for 6 more months instead of getting it free. And I still don't know what their guarantee requirements are. I took a screenshot because the lady kept telling me to click on a guarantee button that does not appear when I log in on a Mac in Chrome. Don't sign up, it will be too frustrating.

I have used this service for just short of 3 months. I did cancel the auto renew and confirmed it. For those that say they were billed after they canceled, I'd say it is tricky to cancel and there are a bunch of times to click. You're sure at the end while they beg you to stay with special offers. A suggestion to those that tried to quit, call your bank and explain. They will get your money back or you should find another bank.

Ok, when I first joined I was inundated with scammers. One after the other all day long. I soon learned how to spot them. Only one photo, almost nothing filled out, except a description barely in English of how they are a 20 year old goddess looking for a man twice their age. Hint, if they have the age set up to the max (I think it's 70) they are almost surely fake if they are below about 60. To be honest, I complained a lot and reported all the scammers and the onslaught did slow to a trickle. I did find that most of the profiles on there are old and abandoned. They try to trick you because when they show a daily match, they hide the time since last log in (unless it's very short, then it shows).

They also hide the age range they are looking for. I'm 44. If I go back and use the name search, I can see most of my "matches" have not been on in more than 3 weeks (the longest they show) and aren't looking for someone over 30. None of the people "picked especially for me" match what I'm looking for. I said no smokers. Almost every one says smokes daily. And other mismatches.

The thing that really annoyed me though is that after I canceled the renew, and my subscription got about 2 weeks from the end, they started sending fake reports. I'd get 2 or 3 emails every day saying someone matched with me and a message is waiting, urging me to renew so I can read it, it might be the love of my life. I guess their system isn't smart enough to know I still have access for 2 more weeks and can log in to see no one is there. No message is waiting. This is the same trick they pulled to get me to join in the first place. That is unethical and earned them a negative report.

I did meet 2 people in the 3 months. One was a lunatic who went crazy and stalked me until I filed a restraining order. The other was a nice person but didn't match what I was looking for and that was about it. I chatted with maybe 3 other people that weren't fake. I got about 100 emails from fake scammers. Overall, I'd recommend trying somewhere else. I suspect since they cut off the scammers when I complained hard enough, they are internal workers at match keeping people interested. I can't prove that, it's just a guess.

I tried to call them, but was put on hold forever so I gave up and called my credit card company to dispute the charges. Well since Match took money from me, I thought my account was open. When I tried to log-in, they had "suspended" my account and after several calls to "customer service" which I presume is in another country I was told that they couldn't help me.

I tried sending several emails and finally heard back and basically was told that since I initiated a dispute, they were charged a fee for this (after they scam others out of their money). So I'm still out for 3 months worth and will be contacting my credit card company to try and recoup the rest of my money. I refuse to ever use this service again. If nobody had added me as a favorite, who was this "fantasy" person the e-mail was talking about???!!! Just a scam to get one to subscribe to their service. Classic bait trick. I was auto-renewed to Match.com, and of course they do not give you a courtesy email to see if you want to stay on. There are very few members near me and I am disabled. I cannot drive more than 10-15 miles without my legs hurting due to having a liver transplant and subsequent neuropathy. There is no way I can date someone 30 miles away - the smallest amount of distance they give you. So I requested to have my money refunded, explaining my disability and Match who puts "We Care" on their website will not refund my money. I think there needs to be a law to ban automatic renewals unless they notify you and you respond that you do or do not want to be renewed.

Several years ago I joined Match.com to see if I'd have any luck. Encouraged by their six-month guarantee, I made sure that I met all the necessary requirements to qualify for the free six-month extension if you don't meet anyone (you have to have actually tried to meet people, which they base on how many emails you sent out/replied to/etc). After six months I hadn't met anyone, but even though I had met all of the requirements for the free renewal, Match still charged me the full renewal rate. I called to have this corrected, they refunded my money, and it went pretty smoothly from there. After the second six months I still hadn't met anyone, so I cancelled my membership and was done with it.

Fast forward to about seven months ago. I'd moved to a new town and thought I'd give Match another try since it was a new group of potential dates. At the end of six months, however, I hadn't met anyone (to be fair, this time it was a lack of initiative on my part), so in early December I cancelled my membership a few days before the deadline, and once again I was done with it...or so I thought. I checked my credit card statement this weekend and was surprised to discover a $119.98 renewal charge on my credit card. I contacted Match.com's customer support through their online chat help and explained that there had been a mistake. "Wilfredo **" informed me that because I had received a refund in the past (remember when they didn't give me my free renewal that I qualified for years ago?) that I could never again be eligible for a refund.

I explained that I was refunded the money before because of a match.com error, and that this situation AGAIN was a match.com error, and that I shouldn't be charged over a hundred dollars for their mistake. He was very unsympathetic and just said, well that's the policy. I asked to speak to someone above him, but he refused and disconnected me. At this point I was very angry because I've never been treated this way by a company, not even credit card or cable companies. So I decided to call and speak to a live person, hoping I would have better luck there. After waiting on hold for 45 minutes (again, worse than a cable company), I finally reached a person. She was much more polite than the guy I dealt with online, but equally rigid in her refusal to grant a refund. She explained that it was my fault I hadn't received the free six months in the past because it isn't granted automatically, even if you meet all of the qualifications.

You have to specifically request it (which they do not make clear). And this time, even though I had gone through the cancellation process, went through all of the pages where it asks you why you're leaving and what they could have done better, and declined their offer at the end for a discounted renewal, apparently I must have still missed some final confirmation (I don't know if I really did or not, but I wouldn't be surprised if they make the cancellation process as drawn out as possible in a way that's intended for you to make mistakes). In other words, she blamed it on me. Kudos to her for calmly listening to my rant after that, but ultimately I knew I was talking into the wind because she wasn't going to help me anymore. The no refund policy is very explicit, she explained. So now I'm stuck with another six months of a terrible service even though I thought I did everything I was supposed to do to get rid of it.

I can only conclude that Match.com is out for your money, and they make the process as confusing and difficult as possible so that they can catch you on technicalities and thus rob you of hundreds of dollars, knowing there's not a thing you can do about it. All I can do is warn other people DO NOT subscribe to this service because they will rip you off and then blame you for it. They have zero concern with customer satisfaction; it's all about how they can trick you into paying for an extended subscription. Very unethical practices by this company. One last note, when I told Wilfredo C. that I was going to let people know how terribly I'm being treated by Match.com, he responded "That's fine!" (demonstrating how little they care if you're a satisfied customer--they're just going to steal your money anyway). So I'm doing what I said I would and spreading the word--don't subscribe to Match.com!

My complaint is besides being annoyed with all the emails from match, is that I remember some matches on match.com (when I was still a member) telling me that they joined match because they saw my profile and wanted to meet me. If my profile and other canceled members' profiles on match are still up and running on match, then this is a sure scam. This kind of practices encourages people to join match based upon false promises that they might be able to meet the person they joined match for when the truth is that the person they joined for is no longer a member, and match.com knows this! I have tried to contact match regarding this matter, but was holding for more than 30 min, so I hang up. I made explicit requests on my profile for men to PLEASE not contact me with any remarks or comments that would be sexual in tone or nature, or anything about my looks or asking me out right away. I received messages from no less than 10 different people with these kinds of remarks anyway, within a 48-hour period. Of course, Match.com would not do anything about it.

I completely understand that members can be blocked or reported, but the fact that this happens in the first place is a serious issue. If this same kind of harassment happened toward women (or anyone) in the workplace, for example, it would be a potential lawsuit. Do I have a case against Match? I am going to my bank tomorrow morning, and I will be calling my news station, as well as driving down to the courthouse. This has made me extremely upset that Match would allow me to be harassed this way. I'm sorry, but it feels very violating.

I cancelled my subscription via Match.com website. Match billed me for another 3 months. Match says I didn't cancel. They refuse to refund. Somewhere around Nov 31 to December 1 of 2015 I cancelled my subscription to Match.com via their website. During the cancellation process Match offered a discounted rate of around $39.00 to not cancel. I declined the offer as I didn't want to continue at this time. I was then brought to a page telling me that I had 3 days to accept the offer if I were to change my mind and continue my subscription at the discounted rate. It also basically said it was sorry to see me leave.

At the last page of cancellation process I felt that everything was taken care of. Few days later while looking at my Credit Card info on Capital Ones webpage I noticed that Match.com had a pending charge of $68.97. I immediately called my Credit Card company and told them that the transaction was not approved by me and that Match.com had been cancelled and should not be billing me. They told me it had to go through and we could dispute it later if it does go through. Once the transaction did go through I contacted Match.com again via e-mail and they said I did not cancel and they required a cancellation confirmation number. I told them I never received one nor saw where I should. They refuse to refund the amount even though I cancelled online. I then went back to my account and saw that it was active again so I shut re-cancelled. They now say I cancelled too late and I must pay for the subscription.

My theory is that they had a computer glitch in the system that did not log my cancellation prior and refuse to accept that I did cancel. I sent several e-mails to them explaining the process and pages that I received during the process. They refuse to even discuss the problem and only want to close the process and force me to pay them. I have filed a dispute with my Credit Card Company GM Capital One and they are doing their best to correct this for me but I feel that it may also fail as Match.com says we have to submit the confirmation number that they claim I should have received that I did not. I cannot submit this confirmation number if they never sent one to me due to their system not logging the cancellation. I am very disappointed in their customer service in resolving this matter. I submit this complaint due to their negligence in trying to remedy the problem. I hoped that they were more responsible in taking care of their customers.

Updated on 05/21/2016: My credit card company and I disputed the charges and they were forcibly reversed as Match.com did not respond even to them. So as far as I am concerned the matter is closed. I also will never do business with them again. Also, it is very suspicious that the credit card info they had on file at the time has fallen into the hands of criminal activity. My card fortunately was already cancelled and void before a fraudulent purchase was attempted or succeeded as my Credit card company caught it in their fraud dept and contacted me immediately. I have no proof that Match is responsible for the security breach but it is interesting that only 2 merchants had this information. One that is nationally acclaimed and secure and the other Match.com. Hmmm... Makes you think...

I have been getting notice after notice from my site match.com about all of these women's interest but when I try to see their profile my site doesn't have the information to give. They tell me to try another profile like hers. For one I have not been able to see her profile and why do I want to look elsewhere when supposed this profile is interested. This brings me to my concerns, at this point I'm thinking that the profiles are fake. So I contact customer service to find out first who talkmatch was and why do their members have access to my profile but I cannot find or see theirs. I was talked into a circle so that he may avoid answering the question, so I see I'm not getting anywhere so I ask him about profiles contacting me but I cannot answer them, he tells me that security must have blocked their profile.

After going in numerous circles and getting absolutely no answers I logged off on him. I am on Mobile internet so I started digging into page after page and all the reviews and I finally found half of what I was asking customer service. Almost 2 hours digging I found that these profiles are all hidden profiles. With that being said now I know why I cannot see or have any info. on these profiles. Why did I have to do all the legwork to answer my own question about getting info on the profiles. That should have been a simple answer for customer service to answer for me instead of trying to convince me that it was security. Still unanswered is the fact that this talkmatch.com site has access to my profile and I have no access to any profiles from that site.

My other main concern is that I am involved in a total take your money for free scam. It is easy for this website to create another to scam you. As of now 6 weeks into a purchased 3 month membership I have not been able to a make or have any contact with any hidden profiles. Those are my main concerns that I have with match.com and their customer service department.

So once again Match proves just how unprofessional it is as an organization, by not having the courtesy of replying to my emails sent to their customer service department in regards mainly to a message I received from them advising they had received a report that I had sent unwanted and harassing messages to a profile, which was totally untrue as the so called report was from a fake/false/scammer profile who didn't like being taken to task in regards to the stolen photos and text used in "their."

But instead I find with no notification that my profile has been suspended/deleted and then that I have even received a full refund of the subscription again without any prior communication, even though when I requested a refund a few weeks ago due to Match.com in my personal opinion not delivering the service as outlined by them, and continually allowing an overwhelming amount of repeat false/fake/Scammer profiles to appear on a daily basis, I was advised no, I was not entitled to a refund as I had already sent an email...

Great work Match.com. At least it saved me from deleting my profile myself as it has become plainly obvious in my opinion that the Match.com organization not only allows the false and fake profiles to continue to appear, they seem to encourage them and then take the word of Scammers rather than that of an actual subscriber when they actually stand up to one the Match.com Scammers and takes them to task in regards to the stolen photos and profiles. An example of the level of Scammers/false profiles... On Match.com (Australia) there is currently 457 profiles of females stating they live in Adavale, Queensland... which would be fine but for the fact that Adavale, Queensland is a very isolated and very small country town that currently it has a total population of 15. YES! 15 and of course when you point this out to Match.com you receive no reply at all, no matter how many emails you send.

It could be an interesting point to find out how in legal terms if Match.com is in part liable for breaches of international copyright laws by continuing to allow the same stolen photos to be used time and time again when it would be so easy to stop the practice by introducing profile verification procedures before a profile is allowed to go live. Many other sites do it, why not Match.com. There is also face and photo recognition software that would make it easy to detect any photo or photos that are repeatedly used. Hell, the hundreds of profiles I personally reported were "found out" by a simple Google Image search... One very unhappy previous subscriber.

I signed up for a 3-month service and had a terrible experience with it. Today (12/11) I got an email from PayPal telling me that the Match charged my account $65.97 which I never authorized. I called Match customer service (which appears to be a call center somewhere overseas) and they were VERY RUDE. Each person I spoke with had an accent and was very difficult to understand. I asked to cancel this Renewed subscription and refund my money, only to be told that they could only refund $29.98. This is completely unacceptable - only 10 hours prior they could take my money and now they can't refund the whole amount.

The 'girl' said there is nothing she could do, which is what she is told by her upper management!!! I asked to speak to her supervisor - which took over 20 minutes to get on the phone - and she told me that her supervisor will tell me the same thing. Marlene was the supervisor's name, and she was equally RUDE and very hard to understand and told me the same load of crap. Match.com steals your money and are more than happy to do so. No company has the right to automatically take your money and then only refund a portion of it. STAY away from this company and any company that will automatically take your money and NOT refund the full amount!!!

As I read through the list of other reviews for Match.com, I see that I am not the only one to have this experience. Which tells me the customer service responses are scripted and they will not budge to make the customer happy. I seriously hope the powers that be at Match know what the hell is going on. Ha, I am sure they do and they just don't care. The kicker, I joined for 3 months and not 1 match!!! DO NOT USE THIS DATING SERVICE. It is a scam!!! I don't even think half the people they have on their searches are even real. I would 'Like' someone and within 15 minutes it would show their profile is now 'Hidden" - this happened 4 times to me. I call BS on Match!!!

I signed up for a 3-month service in September and never ended up using it. Today (12/9) I got an email from PayPal notifying me that they Match charged my account $75.00. I never authorized this transaction. I called Match customer service and they were VERY RUDE. Each person I spoke with had an accent and was very difficult to understand. The first person hung up on me. The second person told me that they do not process a refunds then she said that the best she could do was a one time credit of 19.00. I asked to speak with a supervisor, and she told me that her supervisor will tell me the same thing. Very snotty and seemed happy I was out 75.00. Maybe they get a kickback?

The supervisor then told that she would not process a refund. I said there must be something you could do? She said no. I asked about the 19.00 credit the previous rep offered. She said that I declined that and that offer is no longer available. Unbelievable. They are crooks, more than happy to take your money. They don't have a right to call themselves a customer service dept. By the way, the name of this supervisor was Lovely **, if that was really her name. She was not lovely at all!

I reached out to several men with profiles seeking similar traits to what I have to offer and most of the time never received a response back. The guys who reached out to me were much older than what I said I was looking for and were not at all what I described that I was looking for. I think this site is a scam and most of the profiles are not real people, made up by Match. I wouldn't recommend this site to ANYBODY and am embarrassed that I actually spent $ in the hopes of meeting somebody on this site.

I signed up as a member assuming I would be able to write members and non-members and that ALL of them could reply. I was not aware non-members could NOT reply without either buying a membership or me paying for a feature I was not aware of. The Feature page does NOT anywhere state non-member. It says anyone which DID NOT make sense to me as I assumed Match would be like other sites and allow anyone to reply to a message that a Member paid to be able to send. Not understanding this, I clicked Continue. I was unable to contact customer service as I could not get into the help page. The Button labeled Guarantee They'll Read It did not work. Clicking this link to the Feature page on a send message page did NOT WORK. Because I was unable to learn about this feature since it did not work I did not discover it until a day after. I literally called Match on the phone about the help page not working.

If I had been able to learn before the three days were up I would have cancelled my subscription. I would still like a refund as the service has not worked in any way yet, despite 26 messages written had a single positive reply. Contacting them has gotten me nowhere - they hung up after trying to discuss the fact their Terms of Service does not contain anything about this 'feature'. Calling back only resulted in them Cancelling my account without a refund. I never requested it be cancelled - I clearly stated, "I would like a refund and then you can delete my entire account since it has never resulted in a single positive reply." The 'Sorry to see you go' email stated it was valid until 5/30/2016. Kind of an insult for them to Cancel it just because I asked for a refund.

Details about this situation. History: I had been a member in 2000, and learned they changed their policy from non-members being able to reply to a member initiated message to requiring non-members join to be able to reply to members messages. This stole 3 months of the service I had paid for- eliminating many from being able to reply to my messages. I signed up as at the time all non-members could reply- I knew this and that was a contributing factor to my membership. Well, I met a paying member and that match failed. We were not compatible and divorced.

Considering it is 15 years later and all dating sites I am aware of do not require non-members to pay to reply to a member initiated email- I didn't even think about it- just assumed Match had joined the group and so I clicked through the options page where it is worded: "Guarantee anyone can reply to your emails." Nowhere does it state 'Select this feature to allow non-members to reply to Members' and since it said nothing about non-members, I ASSUMED it was some fancy Member feature like highlighted profiles, etc and ignored it.

Only after did I learn I had to pay for a non-member to reply and from what I can see there are two places. The first on the Send Message page- another button that states "Guarantee they'll read it". Two problems with this. That statement is a lie. There is no guarantee anyone will read it if I pay for that service. It only guarantees they 'can' read it. False Advertising. Secondly, when I signed up clicking this button did nothing. I learned later some Javascript bug also blocked my HELP page. I could not view my Help page at all. SO technically this option was not available to me. After clicking Send- the second- a square advertisement stating the same. Clicking that took me to the feature page. Now, only then did I put the two items together and realize they are still blocking non-members from replying, and worse want another $9.99/month for me to be able for them to reply. I feel seriously cheated and conned.

Looking at their Terms of service nowhere within it does it say anywhere that a Member must purchase an additional service for non-members to contact them. What I did find was an amendment to their original Terms which would have given back those 3 months that were blocked in 2000 when they changed their policy. RESPONSE- Wrote a detailed message, automated reply with no help whatsoever. Replied to the automated reply, nothing.

Called and talked for an hour with customer service, and then a 'Supervisor' who like the other, just kept repeating that I have to pay for a non-member to reply even though it does not state 'non-member cannot reply to a Premium'. I kept stating this fact that nowhere does it say a non-member cannot reply to a paid membership, even in the Terms of service. His reply was 'anyone' means non-members. Why not just state this then, be honest. Well, they want to sign up then realize this and be forced to give them more money. Hung on by the Supervisor... Match.com's Terms of Service does not describe this feature. There is NO content about non-subscribers or non-members beyond the below.

Portion of Terms of Service: "The subscription policies that are disclosed to you when you subscribe to the Service are a part of this Agreement. Absent special offers, you acknowledge and agree that if you are (I) not a subscriber, you will not be able to use all the features and services available within the Service, including communicating with other Members, and (II) a subscriber, non-subscribing Members will not be able to use the Service to communicate with you. A Member profile (both subscribers and non-subscribers) may remain posted on the Website even if that Member is not actively using the service. You acknowledge that although a Members profile may be viewed, you may not (even as a subscriber) be able to use the Service to communicate with that Member if he or she is not then actively using the Service."

As someone born in the U.S. with a Bachelors degree who has a good understanding of English this sentence sounds to me it is clearly saying what I would expect any site to say: a non-subscribing Member will not be able to use the service to communicate with me. This makes sense as it would apply to a non-Member initiating a conversation. And technically - it does state, in clear English 'with me'. It DOES NOT state as a paid member that I cannot 'communicate with them'. It does not state they cannot read my message. It does not say anything about replies to messages received from members. This does not tell me in any fashion that a non-member cannot reply to a conversation initiated by a Member. All of the other dating sites allow non-members to reply to members. I assumed Match had followed the same premise and removed this problem. Instead, they are capitalizing on this deception.

This company has for years lied about the number of ACTIVE users, not FORMER users. If one does a search and perhaps 100 people are returned, only about 30% are still there - still active. This means we are all getting 30% of what they would claim. This is small fraud yet on a massive scale. Think of what this means to a large company being promised 10,000,000 eyes, when only 3,000,000 are there any longer. This was the way they worked 5 - 10 years ago and still do. In addition, they don't like your interaction with other members - i.e. you have "words", you get bounced or both of you. No "appeal"; your subscription gone and your money. Classless and 675 million in revenue. A huge con, and the Office of Attorney General in Dallas written to, and nothing changed!

They will tell you that it shows nothing on their system that shows you cancel. I was not happy with my experience with Match.com. I received Matches that did not match with the settings on my profile. I would receive a message from someone and when I clicked view profile, it stated that the profile no longer existed. It was nothing like the commercials on TV, so I logged on to their site to cancel. I went through the step on the Website to cancel my membership. Since I was charge for the month, I would still visit the site until that month was over and my membership was stopped.

After midnight last night, I checked my 24 matches they sent me. I sent a few winks. If I'm still getting charged for my last month, I'm going to use it until they shut it off. Four hours later I receive a bill from Match.com. I called the company to see why they still charged my after I cancelled my membership. They told me my membership was never canceled. Since I sent winks before I receive an email saying I was charged they will not refund my money. It's funny how four hours after I check my matches and sent those winks I received a bill. Finally after a week I got through to a human on line that was straight rude including a supervisor that said even though I didn't authorize payment or use service that they were not refunding my $120 for a future six months service I wasn't using already. Unbelievable. These guys are not legitimate. After I call my credit card I find out this company had two accounts for me charging me $500 over last four years half of which I didn't authorize. Finally filed a claim with my credit card company and found out Match has a set agreement with them to provide a refund on the condition that a client will never use their services again (basically a scare tactic threat to not cancel, very shady). I was fine with that and got my money back. Considering Match offers nothing different than other free dating sites like POF or tinder I no longer see their value and they know it as I voice the same opinion as others which is why they don't negotiate refunds anymore and try to extort as much money as possible from clients. Match.com makes it way too complicated to communicate with others. If you want to sent someone an email this is what occurs: You type the email, then Match.com give you 2 choices after you have typed the email. One choice is a box that reads "send email" and the other box reads "guarantee to read email". If you choose to pick the "guarantee to read email" another box pops up with a charge. So at this point you exit out and then you lose the email you have just typed and wanted to send. I think it is A BIG HOAX and MATCH.COM needs to be investigated. If a lot of other people feel this way, maybe we need to enter into a case action lawsuit. Something just does not add up. Look at all the complaints they have against them.

Match is not responsible for me being unappealing to the men on the site. This week I decided to purchase "top spots" and spent $50 for them. This WEEK my profile was viewed over almost 2,000 times. I got more likes and winks than ever. However, most of these were from whom that live in other states or don't match up with me at all. My profile was viewed by more men as they promised but they don't tell you that most of the men that will see your profile are not good matches for you. Plus, the same men show up several times in the list of additional men that have seen my profile.

Lastly, I spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars for my profile to be view 4,000 times over more than a year. Then this week I spend even more money and NOW I get almost 2,000 more views. What did the hundreds of dollars get me? What's the point of showing my profile to men that live far away, are too old or too young or don't match up with many of my requirements? Again, I don't blame Match for me not attracting a mate, but I blame them for not providing me with enough opportunities to meet the right men. Disappointing. Terrible.

They mentioned that a supervisor was going to call me back and guess what, no supervisor called me back. I'm surprised this place is still in business if this is how they treat their customers. Very upset. I plan on contacting my bank to dispute the charge and BBB to make sure that they are aware of how shady this company is.

As most mentioned, they will automatically bill you even if you select to not auto-renew in your account. I called to get a refund when I saw the charge on my card. I told them that I know for a fact I updated my account to not renew automatically several months ago. Rep looked at my account and said, August 6 you updated to not renew then put me on hold for a while. I figured he saw the glitch in their system and was going to fix it. He came back and said he hid my profile and canceled my subscription.

I asked about refund and he said no, he wasn't refunding me. I asked to speak to a supervisor. She told me the same. Said because I didn't "cancel" my subscription, they billed me. I asked what the purpose of putting the option to not automatically renew was on there if they were going to bill me anyway. She wouldn't answer that question, just said I need to cancel. I had no activity on my account for months so why would I renew, again, no answer to that. I agree with others, they are very manipulative.

The woman said they don't give full refunds. I asked to speak w/ her supervisor. The supervisor was way worse than the first woman. She said she would now give me NO REFUND and kept saying over and over, "Is there anything else I can do before we discontinue." It was like Bartleby the Scrivener. They can clearly see I don't use my account. They don't even have the correct zip code for my credit card and they won't give me my money back. I will never use them again. When I said why I was calling, suddenly I was disconnected. I called again, another 10 minutes on hold, I was told that yes, I did cancel, but a week later I must have clicked on "the automatic renewal" pop up box. A lie. They automatically renewed and I immediately called them and would not do anything except keep my money at full rate. They knew they had technical difficulties and would not admit it and still charged me. They were the most condescending people on the phone as well. Never apologizing or trying to provide any customer service to make an unhappy client possibly happy again.

They have the most horrific pairing despite anything you put in your search categories. I had people COMPLETELY opposite what I asked for and still they tried to match me with complete opposites even after I called and discussed this with them. But the biggest scam is that they have their site rigged so your cancellation DOES NOT go through and then they tell you there is nothing they can do. DO NOT USE MATCH.COM!!! I had joined Match.com on a one-month trial basis. Somehow, I felt this site could not be as bad as the many, many bad reviews would suggest. So, with a sense of fairness in mind, I said to heck with it and let's see what happens. There are times when in dealing with businesses that we all truly understand they are all trying to make a buck. Whether that is Walmart.com maybe inflating the stated savings for an item, or some companies getting their employees to write good reviews for them. That's life and that is business. The very nature of such is selling a product service presented or in many cases over presented to increase chances of a sale.

Nothing new there and we all know and accept it. But not is all lost. Just as companies have tricks of the trade to ensure maximum profits, so do consumers have the ability to look for savings and huge discounts. So the overall playing field is not as one sided as we would expect. Then along come the likes of Match.com and their ilk. Where does one start with total dissatisfaction with this company? Everything and I mean everything is a scam. The only saving grace for Match.com is the clever nature of how they have some nifty programmers and process architects at the company. I work in this field myself so am qualified to offer a validated comment or two in this regard. Though not working for a company like Match.com or any one like it. So, basically, for all those out there who wonder how does thing work or who comes up with the concepts etc., let me fill you in.

On the outside, from the customer-facing viewpoint, we see or believe. We see countless individuals similarly looking to meet others on this site. The plethora of pretty profile pics and bios would suggest this site really attracts the best out there. Look for yourself, there are for the most part some of the prettiest and best-presented people on Match.com. Now, as every new user imagines they are in with the best group around. Clever use of consumer psychology to let you think you as the new member are in with the in crowd. The use of dubious winks and interests etc. are merely a system automated process to take the place of actual and real users. Almost in the same fashion as an IV unit in a hospital will at intervals provide the correct dosage to the patient, so does the system of winks and interests work the same way.

Now for the profiles. Did anybody know that Match.com has devised templates to fill in many profile bios? It is all so simple in fact. Again I work in this area and know how it works. Many of the pics are harvested from all sorts of internet sources. Sure there maybe some honest profiles, like mine and yours, and pics to go along with them. But again, it is quite easy in this industry, from personal experience, with the clever use of data source management to make anything look real.

So, think of it like this. There is most probably an employee at Match.com sifting through expired or cancelled profiles and searching for good pictures to then send to another dept to come up with profile bios. Then the finished product in the form of the profile is set aside in a database of profiles. When a new user joins, the location, age group, likes, dislikes, etc. of the user are recorded. All this is done to tailor the response profiles to fit the member preferences. Pretty nifty eh!

Ever wonder why after receiving winks and favorites that the profile is then hidden or unavailable. This I must admit is really, really clever. I counted 47 winks and favorites received only to find that the profile is hidden. To think in any reasonable terms that many members on Match.com are prone to absurdly uncommon and unusual behaviour is a little hard to believe. Now comes the moment to pause and think for one second. If Match.com was a reputable company, then they would have investigated why virtually every profile becomes hidden within minutes of activity. Now that is and is most possibly the straw that will eventually break the camel's back. Pushing the ball back to Match.com in this regard is most certainly something they have not looked at for now, or come up with some angle to excuse themselves from any wrongdoing.

Recently, I contacted Match.com corporate office and insisted that I communicate with one of their senior mgmt. to outline my concerns. The very next day, there is not one wink, interest, email or favorite from "other" members. Zero. Nada. When for some weeks before I would routinely receive a regular stream of the new winks and favorites from individuals in my area. My account is still active and paid for. No changes there. I will let you make up your own mind on that one OK. Really, I am so interested to see what eventually happens to Match.com and their ilk. Much needed regulation and judicial oversight is needed to protect the interest of customers totally and utterly duped by such fraudulent business practices as those shown by Match.com.

I joined match.com around a year ago and they take automatic subscriptions six months in advance. I used the site for a while, have now met somebody which is fantastic. I went on the match website around September, time to cancel my subscription, so it didn't renew automatically anymore. I followed the process on the site to the best of my ability and had no reason to think this hadn't worked. However I noticed today that they have taken 78 from my bank account. When I called their customer service line and spoke to the subscriptions team they were really unhelpful. They just said because the cancellation was not successful (even if it was because their website hadn't worked properly) they had the right and were going to keep my money. Bearing in mind this money is payment in ADVANCE for a service I don't want, am not going to use and haven't used for several months. :-(

This came from a supervisor at a call center. She didn't offer to investigate what had happened. She didn't offer to speak with her manager (as presumably she would be too junior to authorize this) and basically said it was a no and that was it. I then said I wanted to take the matter further and was told all I can do is write to head office. I asked for a phone number and she told me head office do not have a phone number. Really - what head office does not have a phone number? She then said that when I tried to cancel it would have said somewhere on the web page that if I didn't receive an email in 20 minutes I had to phone them. I didn't see this message and I did everything in good faith. This feels to me like they are using automatic renewals and small print on their website to take money from me as a consumer that I wasn't expecting, and hadn't in the spirit of the law authorized.

Their lack of interest and refusal to investigate came across to me that they may be using this to make even more money from the consumer. It just feels wrong. That consumer being single people, often single parents who often struggle to make ends meet. I'm a single mother and that money was earmarked for my daughter's 3rd birthday present. With Christmas round the corner, nursery fees etc I don't know where I will find that from now. I have raised a dispute via my bank but given the attitude of customer service I am not confident Match will refund me my money. I really want to get my money back and am wondering if there is a strength in numbers?

But as with all of these kinds of services, everyone knows to immediately check and cancel the auto-billing, which I did. Then this month (October) they auto-billed me. I am on the phone right now informing them that they have illegally billed me. The clerk, who is refusing to refund my money, claims that "since you used your account to send us 6 demands for a refund, you have to pay for the service for this period."

There is no way to contact Match.com, except through your members account. That means that if they auto-bill you, you HAVE TO use their service to reach them. You cannot reach them in any other way. I have told that to the clerk. She has put me on hold for the third time, claiming a supervisor is coming to the phone. I have now waiting for 6 minutes. Sites like these need to be avoided. They rarely work, and then only by luck, not anything the site does. I am contacting VISA and reporting this as an illegal billing to my account.

I decided the next morning not such a good idea to spend 71 dollars for only 3 months of service and change my mind and wanted a refund. I called the next day to get a refund. I was denied on the basis I sent 1 e-mail with the word hi to someone. People and customer service were rude and again denied a refund based on 1 e-mail with no consideration to my request. Never will deal with that company website again. All they want is your money.

I purchased a 3 month membership and realized after 2 months that I did not want to renew so I went into my account and cancelled auto renew. A week before the end of my membership I went in to recheck to make sure that it would not renew. Well, it renewed and my PayPal account was billed. I immediately called PayPal who told me that I'd need to call Match.com. I called their customer service line and was given the runaround by a representative who then connected me to her 'supervisor'. He was extremely rude and told me that I had not cancelled in time. That was an outright lie. I HAD cancelled in plenty of time.

They refunded $51.00 of my unauthorized billing and I asked why I wasn't refunded the entire $97.00. He again stated that I had not cancelled in time. I was furious and I contacted the Better Business Bureau thinking that I would get satisfaction and put this ripoff site on notice. Well to my surprise I received an email from the BBB today saying that they were closing the case because the business (match.com) had not responded in the 22 day time frame. What? I could not believe what I was reading! So all they have to do is ignore contact by the BBB and the case gets closed? No wonder they are continuing to rip people off. PLEASE BEWARE OF MATCH.COM!

For first timers be warning they will charge your account without your permission and they will state that you will allow it to be so because of the agreement in the beginning of the account when first signed.

Had to call a couple of times and explain that I did not want liars, but that is what found. I was seeking honesty as a minimum standard, and didn't find that at all. I was honest, but the matches weren't. I sought men near my area. I thought that would be best as a new divorcee after a forty-year marriage that began when I was a teenager.

The problem started when the company was demanding a paid membership when I was wasn't finding quality matches. As a professional woman, I wanted something similar in a man, and I also prefer something that could become lasting. I didn't like the favoriting process; even after I cancelled, over a year ago, I still receive email asking me to come back, and I definitely will not. No easy to sever all ties with match. I was a little shocked that this had even occurred since I never signed up for any renewal on my account. I immediately contacted Match.com customer support and was thrilled to have a chat available immediately through the website. I stated the facts to the representative and asked for a full refund of these charges. I was then told of their automatic renewal policy and stated they do not give full refunds and that as a courtesy I could have a partial payment of $20-$22.

I opted out of this partial payment and once again demanded a full refund. After a while I felt this conversation was not going anywhere and asked to speak with a supervisor. I was told the same thing. I was on the phone with my bank disputing the charges at the same time and notified the supervisor of this. I was told if I dispute the charges with my bank I would never be able to create a Match.com profile, they would never charge to my account. Of course, this is what I want, but out of good service I still wanted a full refund from the company. I was able to get a full refund from my bank. This is such poor service from Match.com. I am so unbelievably disappointed in their policy. If they have an automatic renewal policy, at least (at the very most) issue full refunds.

Unlike most of the free sites match.com organically weeds out looky loos from those who are serious about meeting a potential partner. The nominal fee that they charge separates the tire kickers from those who are serious. With respect to their proprietary algorithm, I can say with certainty that the majority of the matches that they presented to me were accurate. Ultimately, I became engaged 3 years after dating a woman I met on match.com and we have been together for 4 years.

What is most unique about the upper crust dating sites is that they actually use software engineers to create algorithms which will identify potential suitors. The reality is everyone is on the site for the same reason and those who are willing to pay a few dollars to potentially meet their next spouse are worth their wait in gold. The absolute most valuable part of the service is that it allowed me to extend beyond my personal social circle of influence and meet a woman that I would never have crossed paths with without match.com. I literally could not be happier.

I was ready to give online dating a chance and Match.com was my first and only choice. Moving forward in tried Match.com was good but not exactly for me. Being that I already pay for the 3 month membership I decided to just wait for my membership term to end so I can be done and over with it. Surprisingly yesterday I get an email regarding a renewal fee that I never agreed on. I contacted Match.com on their regular business hours and thought that it was going to be something quick and easy being that it was a misunderstanding.

When I called your customer care I was surprised by the level of professionalism that this company carries on. Even though it was just a day ago that I am clearly saying that I did not approved, Match.com was just willing to refund me a 1/3 of the amount that was charged to me. When the representative told me this is had to stop and ask again being that I felt that what I was hearing had to be a joke.

The only explanation that I got was that those were the company "policies". In my opinion if this is something that the company enforce so drastically maybe just maybe that should be something that should be inform and remind the charges to customers clearly. Then when I asked to speak with a supervisor the call "magically" drops. In my case it would have made a tremendous different on my reaction if I would have received at least an email or a msg from the site in advance letting me know that certain charges will be withdraw on x day from my account instead of just taking their hand and pulling money out of my pocket.

There are certain things that I as a customer expect from companies so big with a established name when I decide to make business with them and common courtesy and professionalism is one of them. I could have try another site but I opt on this one because it's well known and recognize. It's such a shame that I had this bitter experience. I will definitely tell people on how well Match.com makes their business. I hope that the moment that I took to contact you will prevent another member to be in my position and feel so dissatisfied when it comes to online dating.

I just noticed that I have been billed 76 bucks each quarter this year from Match. Last year I paid 112 upfront for the entire year. However, when I renewed this year it was only for the first three months and I keep getting billed. They said the auto renewal is the procedure and you can find it on their webpage. I talked to a customer service rep and her supervisor and all they can say is it's the policy, on the website and have a zero refund policies. Very misleading.

80% of all responses on Match.com are from pirates or scammers that are not paying members but have breached their security system to reach the paying or legitimate members and Match cannot stop it. I am very upset with Match and who ever made this decision to close my account. I have been the victim of pirates penetrating Match at late hours and flooding my inbox with likes and messages of phony profiles. I have on the average of 15 to 25 ladies a night that are not members and have penetrated Match security and are able to send messages to male members and fill up our inbox or picture with likes in the box with blank likes and 800 contacts or scammer profiles. I believe these are men with fake profiles of gorgeous ladies that represent they are located in my home town.

I contacted Match two weeks ago at 800 926-2824 regarding this issue and was given an additional month to my subscription for the inconvenience. Match is well aware of the pirates/scammers on the network and cannot secure the network to prevent this from occurring to the members. Be careful with Match security and how it affects your personal emails. Now my profile has been closed for Match's security breach and they were paid a year in advance and will not refund my money. This all occurred after three weeks on Match. I was in the process of meeting three great candidates and now this will prevent me from following up with them. I have violated none of the terms on Match. I talked to Valerie in Match customer service yesterday and she stated my profile would be turned back on today. I have also talked to two members I have met on Match and they state my pictures are up but no writing in the profile section.

I am in the process to retain counsel to file suit against Match and possibly take it to a class action suit to protect the members who are sincerely looking for a partner and experiencing the same results. Match does not want this type media exposure to the public of the security breach issues with these scammers trying to get our personal information and the issues it is causing it members. Match has been and well aware of this breach in security in their software and cannot correct it to prevent pirates and scammers from overtaking their system so the legitimate users can find a potential partner. Beware of Match and their tactics before joining. If you have had similar experience, write a detail summary and email it to me and I will add you to the class action suit. It is time to expose this maleficence by corporate executives of Match and put it on "Inside Edition" to stop their unscrupulous business practices.

Like most of you, I also was scammed by Match.com. I started a 6 month subscription back in February and then decided to cancel it April. I received cancellation confirmation email that clearly stated that my subscription would expire at the end of August and would not be billed again for the services. Sure enough, I look at my payment card in early Sept., I saw another charge for another subscription on Match.com on August 31st. I called Match customer service and told them that I got billed again when my account should have been canceled and also have a cancellation confirmation email. They didn't help me at all. So call my credit card company about this unauthorized charge on my account. Then had my money refunded to me in about 2 week, but on the first week of October saw another unauthorized bill for Match.com. This website is a SCAM, Do NOT sign up!

When I talked to the corporate lackey (representative), he just follows the script to get rid of me. I don't believe that the website has bugs. I believe that if I meet a woman, I'll quit Match and they won't get my money anymore, so they rig it to not send my email requests. I have sent 150 requests. They shut me down for these emails and would not refund my money. I kept calling 1-800-926-2824 and just hit 2 after they ask for my ID. Then hit 2 again. Jam up their call center then they might respond. Thought if I kept calling they would respond. They just kept fielding over 500 calls from their call center in Costa Rica. Maybe they would respond if I called thousands of times. Did not seem to bother them.

Not to mention that they tried to tell me that I was the problem with why I didn't have success on their website. Regardless of my standards or me, it was extraordinarily insulting to tell me that I (or at least my profile) wasn't good enough to find dating success. But when I got to the pay screen, it did not show the amount that was being charged to my credit card, so I had no opportunity to discover and fix my error. I contacted customer care and got a cold-hearted e-mail sent "with warm regards". Customer care offered 2 choices - a refund of 31.98 so I would be paying 36.99 for one month instead of 22.99 or letting my subscription run for 3 months. I haven't been on Match for over a year or two now and asked them how they were able to charge my card when I didn't give them the credit card number. They responded that they keep all credit card numbers. I even asked her to check my profile and see if anyone had logged in on my profile or if it was visible, she said NO to both. I then asked to speak to a supervisor, she put me on hold and after 30mins of holding I was disconnected. If this is the way they do business then I hope everyone reads this and is very careful at giving credit card numbers out. I am now disputing the charges with Discover.

I disputed the charge with my credit card company who also refused to return my funds based on what Match told them. On October 2, 2015, when I discovered this, I called customer service. They said I had never cancelled my membership. (BTW, during the cancellation, they give you the old "sorry to see you go" and ask why you're leaving, so obviously I went through the cancellation process). They offered me a $22 refund, not a prorated refund as, for example, any insurance company would do.

Here's the bottom line: Match would rather screw a good customer than retain a good customer. Certainly I'll never do business again with this unethical enterprise. Match is owned by gay billionaire Barry Diller of IAC, who has always been known for his questionable business ethics. I suppose this is billionaire Barry's way of screwing people, which is how he got to be where he is today and I presume his business ethics have trickled down to Match.com.

Well somehow, Match took 130.00's from my checking account, by accessing my debit card. I have cancelled my debit card, which is the only way to ensure that they will not continue billing me. Customer Service quoted their same garbage, about how I should have read the "fine print" and that they are refusing to return any of my money. I had heard what criminals these people are, which now explains why I never used their service before.

Now, I have a membership to this fraudulent organization, which I did not want, nor did I authorize them to take money out of my account. In order to sign up with the Match.com you have to pay. They claim their site is free but you are only put in the position of putting all of your information out there and they hide behind their name. So I decided to take the chance. I paid for six months of service up front and was offered six months of service for free (pay for 6 mos., get 6 mos free). Did I mention, prior to paying I was informed via email from Match.Com that there were several people interested in my area? Well, you couldn't access these "interested" people without paying (illegal in itself because it was lies and misleading).

I paid and the information in my Match inbox were all emails from Match.Com themselves. Very misleading as these emails were welcomes and how to get the most out of searches and emails. I am careful and cautious, so I took my time looking and being picky about whom to contact. All of the sudden there was nobody interested, no responses, no likes, only spammers, somebody, stealing a photo from a user on site and attempting to be that person. These were reported with no response from anyone at Match.com. So my activity dropped way off, then I fell at work May 7th 2015, and have been on worker's compensation since that date.

Sept 14, 2015 Match.Com stole $129.54 from my account causing my account to overdraw and charging me an additional $35. This is an especially difficult hardship under these circumstances, and I attempted to handle this myself. First contacting them through their site, contact us and emailing them. No response. I then called the 800 number through the bank, "No ma'am you are not eligible for a refund". We were able to charge your account because you did not use your match.com account the number of specified times.

I did not authorize match.com to go into my account and take money from it. To me this is robbery and I will tell consumer affairs, the BBB, the NYS attorney general, and anyone else who will listen. They do not have good business ethics and they hide behind their outsourced operators that barely speak English. Please see if you can get my money back, discredit their site with a poor score, and MAKE them treat their patrons kindly. I immediately shut my match.com account down so they could not place any further charge on my checking account.

When subscribing to Match use your debit card information. Pay attention to when subscription expires then go to your bank and request a new debit card (tell them lost yours). Match will be unable to renew subscription using your old card number. Also, unless you manually hide your profile/pictures after your off match they will continue to show your profile. Showing profiles of people no longer on their site makes their "shopping cart" of available people fuller than it really is. This is why some of your emails to subscribers go unanswered. Never could figure out how the "fake" profiles get on their site but working on that too. Match.com is a true money grab but it's possible to stop their thievery.

I never received my money back. I sent another email. It was answered with, "I am so sorry but you will never see your money, it is against our policy to refund, basically ever." Over several emails I tried to reason with them. Nothing. This site will rip you off and do nothing to fix it. They won't let you remove your card so you are trapped. Word of advice, call and get the person's name who cancels your subscription. Don't do it online because they will deny it happened and you will never see your money again. So angry.
