I’m a single mom and didn’t have much going on. So I figured that it would be neat to meet some new people and get out and about through Events and Adventures. I was excited and I had a good time at my first event. I went back in February before COVID and since then, I got to do three events and then it stopped. I've attended about 30 or so events. I love our new member meetings. We then did bowling. That one is part of the more fun ones that I like attending because there are so many of us that go, and we get to meet new members. It's a big event. This coming Friday is bowling. Next Thursday, we’re doing a Thanksgiving potluck and next Friday, we’re doing a trivia night at a brewery. I met new friends and bonded with quite a few people. I’m loving it. It’s awesome and it's so much fun.
We did a line dancing event, and there was a woman sitting there and asked if we were all together. I told her that we were all part of this group called Events and Adventures. We were all single professionals and we get out and about and just do things together. It was a lot of fun. You meet new people, get out of your comfort zone, and do things that you perhaps don't think of doing. I told her that if there was one in her area and she's singe, join it.

I was interested in getting out, doing fun things and meeting people that like to do the same things I do. My friends are either busy, boring or broke. They all have boyfriends, too, so I joined Events and Adventures. It's been good and it's nice to socialize. I was curious how my first event was gonna go. It was a new member meeting. We had a whole event and it was very nice. This was pre-pandemic. We did it at a brewery and we played some games so that we could all get acquainted with each other.
I've been to around 15 events. But I froze my membership for four months already because of the pandemic. We did a clear kayaking activity and a stargazing event at a park. There are so many of them. I registered for a crap ton, but a lot of them got cancelled because of the pandemic. I tried to do volleyball but it always got cancelled because of the weather. I only did that once. We did a turtle walk where we went down on Fort Lauderdale Beach and met with one of the turtle conservationists and we walked and looked at the nests and learned about them. That was cool. Also, we went snorkeling down in the Keys. That was cool, too. I've met a couple of friends through Events and Adventures, but no significant other. We even took a trip outside of the group and went to Dallas back in August.

My sister introduced me to Events and Adventures. I just got recently single, and she decided to let me know about them, so I signed up. We were supposed to do archery, and it didn't work out. So, I think we ended up doing a kickball. It was an okay day. It wasn't bad. Then, I did a few events after that, but that was about it. I wanted to get in touch with somebody from there. I'm not doing too good with them. I signed up for a few events, and then I canceled them due to work-related issues, and I have not been refunded. So, that hasn't been a good experience. It was a total of 200 or more dollars. I would tell people to not sign up for events until they know for sure. It hasn't been a unpleasant experience. It's just a little uncoordinated.

I wanted to socialize and make friends a lot so I joined Events and Adventures. I've gone to a few dinners and have gone apple-picking. I like most of the dinners. It's been good so far but I haven't seen the good events for the cost yet.

I travel a lot for work and I just wanted to meet people in my area. I've been to two kickballs, some house parties, wine tasting at a winery, beach events, volleyball, and Taco Tuesday a couple of times. The off-calendar events are the best in my opinion. I really like the house parties that people throw, like it's unofficial. They’re fun because they're organic. People bring their own liquor and stuff. We just show up with the time. It's just that there's drama sometimes and gossip stuff. We have our group of people who have a tendency to talk and say things and I don't like being part of that. But aside from that, everyone's cool. I'm looking at it from a long-term perspective because I'm not sure when I'm going back traveling for work again. I’ve been making friends so far though.
Events and Adventures is cool and different. If I wanna get away, there's always something to do. Everyone comes from different backgrounds and different perspectives and that's what I like about it. I could talk to different people about different things. In our state as a country, we need more of that right now. People may have a different political belief with me, and I’m not getting emotional, mad, or upset just by understanding why, so it’s interesting.

I'm new to the area and looking to make friendships outside of work. I've been able to attend one Zoom event and two in-person events. Everyone's very outgoing, happy to share, and talk and build friendships. I was immediately added to a WhatsApp group and it seems very inclusive, not cliquey at all. The current events coordinator, Kaley, is super enthusiastic and creative and I can tell she wants it to be a success. It's like she's made for this job. The local E and A really has an advantage.

My sister heard Events and Adventures on the radio and she mentioned it to me. I called them and I ended up finding them. The quality of events was good. It was just that when I did the virtual dating, I felt like they should call it something else because I ended up having conversations and being paired up with another girl. I have no intention of dating girls. That was the only awkward thing that was weird. Then I have to pay for some of the events that are local, and I pay for my membership. I don't think I should be paying for the events that I'm going to. I’m trying to go to the ones that are free but there's a lot of them that aren't that may seem fun. It's like I'm paying double so I don't know. Other than that, everything's fine. Everybody seemed nice in the two events that I went to, one was to go walking in a park. I have recommended Events and Adventures to people but I tell them that sometimes, they have to pay for the events.

There were things that I saw in the ad that I probably wouldn't do by myself, and JustFab is doing it. I did a lot of digital events in the beginning ‘cause of COVID. I've done a couple of Taco Tuesdays which is my favorite and I like the escape room. The most recent I attended was the Halloween party. I had an email that said it was gonna cost $29, but when I signed up, I was charged 45. Then I thought there were gonna be gifts and prizes. Events and Adventures listed certain gifts and prizes for the costume awards and only medals were given out and it didn't take away from the party.
I had a good time. It's just a bummer when I think I'm gonna get certain something and I don't really get it. Events and Adventures need to be more careful about how they market the event. In the WhatsApp group that we’ve created, about 20 of us really contribute to talk consistently on there. I dated one guy from the group, but we're just friends. It's a general consensus that we wanted more free events to choose from when we can't do all the paid events.

With Events and Adventures, I like the idea of being able to meet singles, wanted to be active, had different types of events to do, and places to visit here in South Florida. In the beginning, I was always apprehensive and I didn't know what I was encountering. I was basically walking into an unknown situation. But everybody's more or less in the same mentality. It was really easy to click with people 'cause everybody was very open and welcoming.
The Halloween party this weekend and the poker night we had not too long ago were pretty good. The paddleboat event and playing kickball were fun as well. Pottery was really interesting. There's also been events that have not been E&A sanction. Because after a while, you establish a friendship with the people that you are in the club with. We've done events ourselves and they've been equally as fun. It's allowed me to meet people that I could hang out with. It doesn't have to be within the confines of the E&A schedule. There is one event this weekend that's not E&A that we're looking forward to, with some of the people in the group. Also, there are several events that are E&A that I'm gonna be participating in.
It is a great place to meet some fantastic and fun people from all walks of life. But I'm very dissatisfied with the company as a whole. Once you see it for what it is from the inside, they're preying upon the fact that you wanna go ahead and meet people, and they're charging you a very high premium. Then once you're in, they charge you even more money to go to the events. So in essence, you end up shelling out a lot of money when you thought that with the monthly fee that you pay, you'll get either a discount or some of the events for free and stuff like that. You end up becoming a number to them and they just milk it for what it's worth.
The reality is that you wanna be as welcoming as possible, we wanna bring you in. But at the same time, you feel like you just paid $50 to come to X, Y, Z event, and the event actually costs about 45. I just paid a premium when I should have gotten a discount when I should have been paying 25 when the event costs 45, because the company can give a group rate.

I was nervous prior to arriving at my first event. I'm a very socially awkward person, so going into social settings was kinda weird for me. After I arrived, I didn't feel nervous but I felt like the group of people who were attending these events just weren't my type of friend group. I kinda felt singled out a little bit. I did a meet and greet at a bar, I did a trivia night, I did a canoeing, kayaking, night thing, and I also did a virtual trivia night. The trivia night in person was a little bit more fun, just because there were other people outside of who we were as a group. It wasn't like a birthday party setup. I understand what its purpose is, and I liked it. I think it's a good program. I just didn't like the actual people in my area. I thought that if it was in a different area or different circumstance, I would have enjoyed it more.

I was a little bit anxious to see what my first event was. I did a glow-in-the-dark kayak and one of the happy hours at a vegan restaurant. They were both pretty fun. The happy hour ended up being a roomful of 10 women, so it was pretty hilarious.

The events are all scheduled in, so you don’t have to do any research and don't worry about a thing. They tell you literally to be there at a place and time, and you show up and you have friends there. So it's kinda cool. I was intrigued before going to my first event. I wanted to see what it was really like and it was fun. My favorite event is the night kayaking. It was like glow kayaking in the night. It was super cool. We just had a Halloween bash and that was kinda awesome.
I met a bunch of people at the events and we all get along pretty well. We see each other sometimes outside of other events. So it's kinda cool. Everything's been very good so far. It really depends on people's own availability of time. Overall, my experience has been fun and exciting. You get to meet a lot of new people that you didn't know existed.

I joined Events and Adventures because my husband passed away in March. We were together for 22 years. So it's been hard for me to meet and talk to people. I didn't do so well with the online thing so I decided to give Events and Adventures a shot. I signed up in August or September, and I started out pretty slow. In September, I went to two events in the whole month. Then I started trying to do at least once a week in October. But last week, I went to two events. Tuesday of last week was my birthday. We had the Bingo Night thing and a couple girls ran out and got me a Dairy Queen birthday cake as a surprise. So it was sweet and it made me feel welcome. I've met some nice people and wouldn't have otherwise. Before, I was scared to go and sign up, but now I’m turning more excited about signing up.
I've learned as a newbie is to try to go to events consistently. More is better than less because when you go to more events, then you start getting to know people. If you only go to one once in a while, you’ll still feel like a stranger. But if you start going more consistently to more things, then you start to get to actually know people, and then it's more like friends than strangers. My goal is to go on two events again this week. They're doing laser tag at one of the bowling alleys out here, so I signed up for that for Friday night. Then tomorrow, I put myself on a waiting list for game night. If it doesn't open up, my plan B is pool. It’s called Rack’em Billiards and there’s plenty of openings at that for tomorrow night.

The first event that I attended at Events and Adventures was a Mexican bingo. It was pretty cool. They had margaritas and steak. It was great at first, but it just seems stale now. Our manager always asks for feedback on Facebook asking, "Can we do this? What do you wanna see the next month?" Everybody has great suggestions, but it's always the same stuff every single month. He never takes any of the suggestions.
I've dated a few people. I've met a few people. I have friends that I still hang with outside of E&A. So it's done what I intended and I still go to the events. I liked it and I enjoy it. If that's what you're going for, trying to meet new people, then it's a great way to do it. The price was a little off-putting at first, but once you get over that, it's really not bad.

I'm not a go-it-alone kind of person, so going to my first event was intimidating. It was a meetup at a coffee shop with a speakeasy in the back. It was fun. The second event that I went to was the axe-throwing. Then I did a volunteer event at Feed My Starving Children. I have made connections at the events but I haven't talked to anybody outside of the actual event that I've been to. I've brought a person with me every time I've gone, like a buffer. But it's been an interesting and eye-opening experience. It's been exciting.
I have recommended Events and Adventures to friends. But it's a little bit pricey so it's hard to get somebody to want to do it. It was a big financial commitment for me. The website could also use a little bit of an upgrade. It's kinda weird. I wish there was a feature where you could look at the events you've previously attended and what you have scheduled upcoming and what you’re on the waitlist for. Somehow I signed up for an event I didn't even know until I got an email saying I was moved into it. Also the communication isn't the best. Sometimes you reach out to your host and it’s, “Oh, I know I'm the host, but talk to this person instead.” It’s sort of weird passing around and not really sure who to reach out to.

I’ve never heard about Events and Adventures because I’m originally from Kansas City and when I saw it on a YouTube commercial, I was curious as to what it was. I did a little research and it sounded like a meet-up but a little bit more mature and exclusive. So, I signed up for the interview and liked what I heard within that hour and a half. It would fit my lifestyle a lot better than other avenues. I’ve been a member for about six weeks and I’ve gone to a couple of events. I wish that it could have been more but I was on military orders for a little while. The first one that I went to was at a bar/grill and I had a wonderful time. The second event was a haunted trail event and that was also fun. Earlier this week, I signed up to go to about four more events between now and the end of November. I'm looking forward to that.
At my very first event, there were four people that gave me their phone number and two of them solicited me before the event took place. Everybody seems to be nice. Reid, the one who you'd contact if you had any ideas for events that you'd like to see in the future, was receptive to doing things that each individual member would want to do. I like that they consider my input.

I haven't had a great experience with Events and Adventures overall. I wouldn't do it again. It was a good idea in theory, but it didn't really pan out to what I was looking for. Some of it was related to Coronavirus, but some of it was because it just didn't connect with me. On the weekends when I was available, there just wasn't anything. I wasn't particularly interested in some of the topics that they put on for different things. I paid 2k out of pocket for the whole year and I went to two events. It was a total waste for me. For me, as a busy professional, this was not what I needed. I just don't have that time. Not that I'm not interested in meeting people, but some of their events were just too long.
I tried to get out of it and that was the other thing that I felt was pretty unfortunate. When you recognize like, “I’m a month into this, I don't think this is gonna work out for me. I'd like my money back.” To be told there was really not an option for that, it really turned me off. So, I really just didn't go to any of the other events. I really felt I had a poor taste in my mouth from that experience. Their customer service needs some work. I wished their company had been more understanding that people make decisions and then need to undo them.
I also didn't appreciate it when I should have trusted my gut instinct from the beginning. Because when I signed up, the gentleman who signed me up pressured me. For me, this was something that I really wanna do, but the money was an issue. He was like, “If you don't sign up right at this moment, then the discount that we can give you is gonna go away.” I signed up against my better judgment. I regretted it since then.

I had seen advertisements for Events and Adventures online and I had newly moved back to the area. I was interested in getting to know some people around and having some things to do. I was nervous when I went to my first event, being the new person and then, with COVID, I wasn’t really sure how everything would work out. But I was excited to try to meet people and everything that way.
But definitely, the nervousness went away. The people were really welcoming and friendly. There was a mix of people there, so it was nice to get to know new people. By the end of it, I had enjoyed the time and definitely wanted to sign up for more events. The first one that I liked was a vineyard yoga, being outside. It was a fun idea, fun event and a good way to get to know a few people that way. However, it's a pain to sign up for events or cancel my attendance on the computer and it's so much harder to do that on the phone. Even if it's not an app, the website should just be easier to use on the phone than it is.

I've had a good experience with Events and Adventures. I've gone to about 7 events and they were fine. One of them was the New Year's Eve party at a hotel where they had gambling and the New Year's countdown dance. Then I went to Lago Mar. That one was a lot of fun. It was a group of 8 or 10 of us and that one was really cool. I also to a new member icebreaker event which was cool too.
All events are fun but I like the smaller events more. They are more personal and you stay with the group that you meet. You can get to know each other better. I went to a beach event and there were 30 people. Originally, we met up and there were only six of us. We hung out for 20 minutes or so and I kinda got to know them. When we went to the beach, it was hard to meet somebody. We didn't even move around.
I haven't gone to enough of these events though. I still haven't really met anybody, friend or girlfriend perspective but I still have a few months left. I've been telling myself to go to more of them but I do live right before Galveston. I don't really have the chance to go to events during the week. Usually, it's just stuff on the weekends and I don't like going on those big trips like Argentina. But I've told people about Events and Adventures like when I'm getting my hair cut. It is a little expensive but that is also kind of one of the perks about it 'cause then you know that everyone that you meet there isn't some leech off of their parents or doesn't have any money.

With Events and Adventures, you meet new people every day and they are fun. We always do something different that I haven't done before. I was very shy when I first started. Reed for the Houston area reached out to me and told me he saw me signed up but I hadn’t come into the event. I said I was kinda little shy. He said to go into the ice break which is for all new members. I went there and he made me feel welcome. My little shyness went away because of the way he did it. After I first arrived, I felt more relaxed and more calm. He makes sure to introduce me and everybody starts talking to me. I feel more comfortable so I start talking to them too. I've made some couple of new friends. We exchanged numbers and we keep in touch with each other.
I did at least 20 events by now. I did the Top Golf which was very fun even though I don't play golf. Everybody showed me how to play it. I also did the St. Arnold one and volleyball. I did hiking as well. We hiked for a little bit then after that we met up and got some ice cream. There are some of them that I'm planning to attend. They have the fairs that are going on and also a little bar place that we hang out and do stuff. I'm really excited to go do the go karts that are coming up. A friend of a friend was telling me one of my stylist’s clients had joined E and A. She was saying how much fun she was having. My stylist kept telling me I should join and this year, I finally decided to give it a try. I like the fact that everything is planned and you just pick and choose what events you wanna attend. I like more of the outdoors events like hiking. That's the biggest thing for me. In my first event, it was like a welcome meeting thing. I'm typically a quiet reserved person and I was thinking what have I gotten myself into. But it was good and we had bowling after. All the events I've been to so far, the members are nice and open. The host definitely makes you feel welcome and part of the group. It's been a really good experience.
I feel very comfortable meeting new people and talking to the old people. I've met some that's been in the group for three plus years. There are five of us that are gonna try to do hiking trips outside of E and A. We wanna do hiking weekly. That's been kind of nice meeting those guys and seeing their interests. It looks like E and A does two hiking trips a month. They may be increasing now that the weather is nice. They're having to improvise based on COVID. They've done a really good job of still making events available for people to attend. I'm doing at least two events a week trying to have that work-life balance. The volleyball events are twice a month. Those have been really nice. I look forward to going through those. I did bowling, a couple of hiking trips, and a few of the taste to eats. I'm doing aerial yoga tonight and dinner tomorrow.
I did a two-year membership so if I don't get to do 2021, I'm definitely looking forward to 2022 to doing an international trip. A few people have asked and I highly recommended some of my single girlfriends who are in the same boat as me. It's an amazing opportunity to just get out of the house and do stuff. I'm enjoying Events and Adventures a ton. I've had them since around 2010 and this is my third time coming back and just loving it. I enjoy meeting people. I've done campouts, whitewater rafting, and a whole bunch of fun stuff. The events have been really good. I did an eight-year hiatus because I actually met a lady through them, but sadly enough, it just didn't really work out between us. So, I decided to come back and have some more fun. They make fun entertainment. I brought a friend from Astoria, Oregon to the events and he did putt-putt golf, and he had a blast.
They definitely have good hosts and good people doing that stuff. But it would be nice to be able to get together more than just a few people. The problem is the COVID-19 so they've sort of changed a lot. It would be great if they can do trips locally and rent out an Airbnb and see if people want to turn around and get together and do a weekend versus just "a day here, a day there" type of thing so that people actually have time to get to know each other. I don't want to belittle Events and Adventures at all. I just think that it would be great for them to know that it would be pretty awesome if they could start doing things for a longer period of time for the individual local.

I'm new to the Dallas area so I don't have a lot of friends here. I have historically used Facebook events, but you never know what you're really getting into. I was looking for events in my area and an ad for Events and Adventures kept popping up. I thought there was something to it so that was when I looked it up. It seemed like something that I would try out. I like being social and I wanted something that I could be social in. I like going to functions and it was right up my alley.
I love the people that go to it. It's all different walks of life. I wish that there was more diversity. If there was even more diversity, it would add even more events. But I think it is going to get there and that's not a drawback from it at all. I love the events and everybody is very friendly and makes you feel welcome. I greatly enjoy Events and Adventures. I tell as many people about it as possible.
Thank you for your feedback Cristie! We are always trying to keep the group as diverse as possible, different cities have different demographics but we encourage tons of different people to join! Thank you for spreading the word about our group.

Events and Adventures does a good job. I went rollerskating, a couple of dinner events, a game night, and paintball or airsoft and met a bunch of acquaintances. I've gotten along with everyone that I've met up with. I'm a driving instructor, so I meet new people every week and I don't get nervous when it comes to meeting groups of people. I haven't been in the club that long and have never hung out with anyone outside of an event. My biggest problem is my personal time and nothing was their events. They got a wide variety of things to do every day, but I just don't have much free time.

I'm extremely new to San Francisco and it's COVID. I don't know anybody here. I was googling meetups and I figured Events and Adventures might be the best bet. When I was looking it up online, I saw all the cool things that were going on and even international trips. That's what caught my interest. The first experience I did was the Dolores Park Cards Against Humanity. It was the host and six of us. Everyone kinda came in a little bit later. The host told me that usually people show up a little bit later when there are free events like that. From that experience, I got to meet the people that were there. They all seemed nice. You could tell that some of them have social cue problems in a way but a lot of them were very open.
As I went to my third event which was the Tea Garden, I got to see some of the regulars as well as I could see this little clique that form into groups which was also interesting that I picked up on. It was almost like the group was split into two in a weird way. The host was great and I'm not trying to call anybody out or say it's a race thing, but it definitely felt kinda like it was. It was really odd for me. I guess this happens everywhere where if people see someone that they can relate to, they're gonna form that clique. I definitely got that vibe that one day. I did note that I wasn't the only one. I did notice another member brought it up too after the group split into two and the other members were trying to tell him it was not a big deal. I didn't say anything 'cause I was just trying to enjoy myself.
I attended three events in September but I haven't done any trips far out yet. I don't have my car here. It's in North Carolina. I was told that I can put online that I need a ride. I'm still getting to know the whole thing and doing road trips that I can here. I signed up for three or four this month and I just did one recently. It was a virtual Zoom meeting for new members. The next few events I have are something to do with Halloween and a bites and brew type of thing.

While there are many events to choose from, many of the same events are held on the same day of the week. For those that can’t make those days/evenings on a regular basis it would have been nice for the events to rotate to different days to allow the opportunity for others to join in at another time. Was great to have virtual options during the quarantine, but not enough offered. And at a time when many are still cautious about venturing out into a physical group the virtual options went away.
Ms. Ann, we definitely still have virtual events available! If you would like Sydney can show you how to view those on your calendar (there is a drop down on your calendar for which Calendar to look on and any member can sign up on the Virtual calendar). We are trying to be sure to offer a variety of events still, virtual and physical so that all members can feel comfortable and enjoy the group still.

Events and Adventures is a great club to be involved in when you're going through a transition and even later. It's a great program. I've met a lot of friends so that worked out really good. That's really what I'm looking for right now. I've been to plays, get-togethers at restaurants and clubs or bars, dancing, comedy clubs, and volleyball. Volleyball is probably one of my favorites. I've done it several times this month. Then tomorrow night, there's like a haunted house get-together. Also, I did a sailing trip last weekend. That was really neat. I got on a sailboat and that was nice. I haven't done any of the camping trips yet, but I'm thinking about maybe doing one of those next time. They fill up pretty fast so if you don't get it right away, you end up losing a spot or not being able to get in.
Volleyball is a huge favorite in the group! We are glad to hear you have been enjoying the events.

I had just gone out of a relationship and I didn't want to “online date”. Events and Adventures sounded interesting. And I like to do a lot of outdoor activities and meet people in groups versus one-on-one. I participated in a few things for a couple of months because, unfortunately, I had a family emergency with my mom. I didn't utilize it as much as I was wanting. But with what I experienced, I liked how low key it was. I met some really nice female friends at it, too. We did a corn maze and that was probably my favorite just because I like to do outdoor stuff like that. Then once we went to COVID, we did online games and there were yoga sessions in the middle of the day.
New members could be introduced to people that have been there for a little bit longer. I was meeting a lot of newer members, which is not a bad thing, but I know that there were people who have been in it for a while and could explain things better. But they do a good job of having someone coordinate the event so it's not super awkward.
I am really sorry to hear about your mom, I hope she is doing well. We appreciate your review Shontelle!

I interviewed with Emily out of Chicago. During our 90-minute interview, I wasn't really convinced but I started seeing all the trips which I'm always interested in. Normally, when I do trips, I go by myself. I was kinda intrigued with Events and Adventures so I decided to sign up. I didn't show up to my first event till two to three weeks later. I was nervous going to my first event but after that, it's been a blessing. I go to two, three events a week but I try to keep it at two minimum.
The camping trip that we did for Labor Day weekend was probably the most fun. They're all fun, but they're all very different. That's what I like about it. You're never doing the same thing. I've done bowling two times. I've done the boat paddleboard, the kickball and Taco Tuesday. What I do like about Events and Adventures is you feel comfortable and everybody's real. What I'm used to on the other dating sites is always you're meeting superficial or fake people. Here, they're open. I have a group chat right now of 35 people from everybody from Events and Adventures. It seems like it's more like a family so I like that a lot. I always tell people about them.

After I was there for a while, I definitely felt more comfortable. I've gone to four events and I like the horse riding one. I've made two good friends. I had fun at most of the events I've attended. I'm still feeling the whole system up. Then, COVID restricts everything. But I hope that things start getting a little bit better.

I’m brand new to Houston and I don’t know anybody. I gave Events and Adventures a shot and I’ve been in a bunch of all small events - they do volleyball weekly, some dinners, hikes, walking, bike rides. I like to do anything active. It's been good. But I would like them to listen to the feedback of the members. We had a situation last month where they had us play volleyball in a place where none of us like. Everyone emailed but they said they were keeping it there. They changed it, but after a month of arguing with us about it. Also, when you suspend your account, you can't sign up for anything. Then you ask them to unsuspend your account and no one responds. Now, everything is filling up for October and I'm not gonna get to do anything in October because they blocked my access.
We are really sorry to her that SaDaniel. While your access is frozen you can't sign up for events, however if you reach out to members@eventsandadventures.com they can unfreeze you after the 15th of the month when the new calendar releases. That way you can sign up if you know you will be unfreezing the following month!

My favorite event so far has been the Who’s Who. There were some technical difficulties, but I know the person who did it is gonna redo it. So I signed up for that. It's gonna be called virtual speed date now. I liked that it was kinda different than the other events I attended because I could get to know people a little bit more. So there was a little bit more time to get to know people versus if it was a Musical Bingo. There's a little bit of time to talk in the beginning, but then it kinda goes into the event immediately. I also really liked the cooking class. Maggie did one for Thai food. So that was my first time cooking. It was really exciting to do something different and go out and buy the ingredients. I have a lot of food allergies so I had to adjust things. But it was still fun.
I did one in-person event. I went to the drive-in movie that Phoenix had. But I stayed in my car because I didn't feel really comfortable. We have a choice to use a mask or not, but for me seeing that, it doesn't make me want to go to some of the in-person events. I've seen one event where there's hiking and I could try it because there's a lot more space and I could put my mask on and not have to worry. But one day, I'd love to do the restaurant events. I'm just not fully there yet. But the events are very creative even virtually. I love that Events and Adventures is making the adjustments so we can still be social.
Thank you for the feedback Sarita! It is really great to hear from you.

I had signed up with Events and Adventures and was going on a group kind of boat. It was fun. Since signing up, I've been to about 10 events. I went through the Labor Day thing. That was pretty fun. But the WhirlyBall was extremely fun. That was my favorite. We went to a WhirlyBall place. We all kind of talked a little bit about what the calendar was like for September. There was a big turnout. We took like really short turns of WhirlyBall. Two teams would assemble, and we kind of swapped out and played every other game. We played quite a number of games, which was a surprise. It was nice. They were short games, but we got to do it very frequently. Then afterwards, people were open to go do something after. I didn't go, but it was nice that I could have gone if I wanted to.
There have been some girls that I've gotten a little closer with, especially since Labor Day. So, it's been fun. It's really nice to have someone else organize and to prepare everything. And especially, since COVID, it's been great to have the ability to have safe fun and be able to go out and hike. I've really been pleased with Events and Adventures, and I plan to continue.
Thank you Candy for your feedback, we really appreciate it. We are proud to have members like yourself!

Events and Adventures is working out good. It's just that I wasn't able to get on the cruise thing because I wasn't really familiar with Chicago. They had me go around three times from an entrance that was right there. Then when I got off, I was supposed to go to the left, and I went to the right. The rep kept texting me because she was trying to hold the boat. When I told her where I was at, she was telling me to come down and I said, "No. It's the other way." I missed it. So, that was like $90 gone. I wasn't really too happy about that.
I wanted to join Events and Adventures because it was something new. It's a different group setting people to do something. I'm single and I don't know a lot of activities to do as far as just the city because I just moved back here. I'm originally from here, but I just moved back. All I do is go to church and come home. I do stuff for my church, but sometimes I just wanna go outside of the box. It caught my eye that Events and Adventures had all of these activities, bowling, foosball, camping, the cruise and guacamole nights.
I went to the whirl thing. It was very open and pleasant, and everybody was speaking. Everybody's talking to one another. So, that was good. I tried to get on the whirlyball, but I just had knee surgery. My knee wasn't really comfortable in there, so I didn't keep going. I did it one time, but I didn't do it again. Then I went to play pool. It was nice. We all got together. They had appetizers, so that was great. Then we played pool, and we talked, and I took a shot. Also, I went to the bonfire. That was beautiful. I liked that. We all came together in like a potluck. So, we brought food. I did some ribs, and I helped them with first part of the grill, did some ribs and some kind of burgers. Then other people brought side dishes and stuff. It was really nice in the fire, and we bundled up, and we talked. I did the rooftop in Chicago, and it was nice as well.
With Events and Adventures, we pay our monthly fee plus the fees that we pay to go to these events too. I’m on this right now, but I don’t understand why we gotta pay such a fee like that. But they gotta arrange things and there's nothing free. I kinda look at it like that. I've met some friends, but not a significant yet. I'm still working on that. I've invited a couple of people with me because I want them to get out as well.

Going in, it was a little more expensive than I thought it would be. But some things are more important than money like having a decent social life. And friends were starting to be a little flaky and they just didn't wanna do the same things I wanna do. I didn't want to sit at home watching Netflix all day. I didn't want an internet date, not particularly anyway. i just wanted to do other things, more active things generally, and Events and Adventures allowed me to do that. However, they should advertise some more places that attract younger people.
My age and younger like Instagram, TikTok, or Snapchat. Any of those would get more young people involved. I think there's a market for that, especially in this internet age. But I like that there was no false advertising about what Events and Adventures is. They gotta kind of prepare you that it’s not free, but the other side of it, everything that you could imagine, you would imagine somebody like that to be able to match that expectation.
Every now and then there is a bit of a snafu, and sometimes there are things that are really awesome. I was able to do a lot of things that I don't know if I would be able to had I not been a part of this event just because it's pricey and friends not wanting to do pricey stuff like that. I don't know that I would have done wine making because I know it's part of a class. It was a lot of fun. They let me know other things in general. Cheese making, houseboat on Lake Tahoe, those things are hard to get friends around available to do because everybody has a schedule. So, they should be a part of a network, of a thing like this where it's okay that you don't see the same kind of people every event. Everybody has their own lives. They got things they wanna do, things they would rather do, rather than not do.
Thank you for your honest feedback Cindy!

I found about Events and Adventures from another member. I was at a restaurant and she came in to meet some of the people that are part of Events and Adventures. I thought I had joined before but I guess I didn't. So, I joined the next day. I called and talked to the guy who was in California. I have only gone to one event. It's just a lot of times, it doesn't fit my schedule or it's clear across town, too far away. But when I went, I met people and had the dinner or the lunch but I've never talked to them again. Also, with the COVID and all that, it was awkward because we were at a restaurant and it was really hot. It's hot here in Texas. It's hot in Oklahoma.
And then there was a horseback riding thing that’s closer to my house. It was booked and I looked at it several times but I didn't like to drive clear across town. If you were in Oklahoma City, you would have to drive to Tulsa, from one side of the Metroplex to the other. Also, they do do things in my area. But in the last couple of weeks, my sister passed and I haven't had a chance to look at the new calendar. I don't know if I should put it on hold or what the deal is because there's still a lot of COVID stuff going on.

I saw an Events and Adventures YouTube advertisement and I was recently divorced. I was like, “Might as well just go out.” When I first signed up, it was the middle of March, so COVID had not exactly hit yet, but I didn't do any of the virtual events. I didn’t participate in those but I’ve been to a couple events here and there and they were okay. I like being social, so I was okay with the first event. Events and Adventures could make it easier to access to view events via apps. Because sometimes I wanna get waitlisted and then they always say, “Just do it anyways.” I guess it's hard to plan how many people are gonna cancel. But I would like more transparency on where you are on the waitlist. And then, highlight the events that you actually signed up for on your personal calendar so you can just make a quick view on it. If you just want to get out, do random things, do it.

I wanted a chance to meet new people that weren't all together in bars. I went to the Keys for the snorkeling event. There were three of us that stayed overnight on our own and I had a blast. We went fishing in Fort Lauderdale. After that, we played on the beach. Fun! We stopped somewhere, grabbed some food, and that was it. Good times. I’m friends with a bunch of the people now. I speak to them all the time. However, everything is in Fort Lauderdale. If not Fort Lauderdale, it’s in Miami. There are very rarely things that happen in Palm Beach. I have suggested events over here in Palm Beach and Haley of Events and Adventures said she will look into it. She said, “Great ideas! I’ll look into it.” And that’s it. It falls and goes away. Also, I don't see the “discounts” anyhow that you get when you go to these events. I find discounts cheaper than through Events and Adventures. I find much bigger discounts. Other than that, things have been fine.

Events and Adventures had a lot of activities and things I wanted to do and try that I've never done on my own but I knew in a group setting I could. Even if I wasn't hooked up with somebody I could still go out, enjoy and participate. I've met a lot of very nice people and had great conversations. It's been fun to be with people, guys and gals both. The age group that I was expecting to hope to meet is not there though. But I'm still enjoying the events, getting out and doing things which is still one of my goals, so that works out well.
The events have been great. I've always felt very welcome and it’s very friendly. There's been a couple of little snags here and there, but things are always worked out, so it's not a problem. That's just normal day-to-day life. I don't like Zoom events so I shy away from that. There are a lot of Zoom events but I'm in front of my computer all day. I don't want to look at another computer when I go home. The more outside and physical activities I can do, the happier I am. I like that so much better. It gives me more of an opportunity to mingle and be myself in a group and see how other people interact. There's been a lot of variety and the cost is right there where I would expect to pay for an event. If I went out on my own, it’d probably cost me more. So, with the group, it's a lot less.

I was looking for social activities and stuff to do, and I found Events and Adventures online. The events were online and I felt comfortable. The people I’ve encountered were great as well as the podcast I’ve been listening to. My only concern for now is I don't go to activities. When I looked online, you have to pay for most of the activities that they have. Most of them are kind of expensive. So I would like it if they can think about more probably free activities. Even though we have to pay a fee but it can be not too much money. We have short hours, reduced hours and limited schedules. The main goal for me to join the group was to meet people and to have social activities but I don’t have that. I'm satisfied but I will appreciate if they take more face-to-face activities. We are still on quarantine but we know what to do.

I like it very much. The ratio to men to women on many of the events is not optimal. But I've made some friends and I intend to continue. I've done five events and one trip down to Key Largo. My favorite is the Chops and Hops, where we were throwing axes. Events and Adventures is having trouble keeping things on track due to COVID. They have genuinely tried to make it work but it's just a disaster right now. It's nothing that Events and Adventures could do anything about. But the effort is there to try and make it perfect. The guides, Kaylee, Romulus and Ed, were all wonderful.
One suggestion that I have is that name tags are implemented in the events. It's very, very cheap to implement. I went to a Greek restaurant last night where there were supposed to be belly dancers and breaking plates and dancing on the tables. it was a very, very nice dinner but that was all it was. It was just a sit-down dinner. There were about 16 people at two tables and social distancing was maintained. But with so many people, and they were not all right there within your area where you were talking to them, it was so hard to remember the names. So the name tags would be an excellent thing.
Rebecka we are happy to hear you have met some awesome new people! We appreciate you! Thank you for the suggestions as well.

I heard about Events and Adventures back in 2014 when I was living in Houston. That was when I was 19, so I couldn't join back then. I also started working out in the oil field, so I was blowing and going. I’m finally in a slower environment of work right now, so I had a lot of time on my hands. I wondered whether or not Events and Adventures was still a thing, looked it up and searched that they're all still there. I applied, and with the whole Covid stuff, I can understand they are trying. As a person who lives so far away, that's where it would stir whatever unhappiness I would have, which I don’t have any.
Besides this whole corona stuff, it's good. I’ve been tagging along with whatever virtual stuff I could get in and I can tell by the looks on a lot of people's faces, they don't like the whole virtual stuff. Some people can't work their computers like they thought they could, so it’s quite funny. Other than that, I'm having fun. Every time I do a VR thing, it's always different people and it’s new to me. I've done virtual conference calls a lot, so it's not new as in new to me. Also, I've been to two things before and I like the events. The host's last name is ** and she's cool.

I went to the icebreaker, which was a lot of fun, then I did the online book club, which I really enjoyed. They were very nice people and everybody that I've been around with had been very friendly.
But I haven't had the chance to do much stuff with COVID and things changing. I wanted to do more in-person things and that just haven't worked out lately. But this month, I'm going to be doing more stuff. I'm going on to do a mini trip, just like a tour of something this weekend, and that would be the first time I'm getting my money's worth. What made me sign up was that I work a lot and I was someone who was really social in a previous job before this that I have now. I had a lot of people that we go to have drinks after work with. Since I left that job, I still talk to those people but not as much as I used to. I figured Events and Adventures would be a good opportunity to meet other people in Denver. I've only done a couple things so I don't have a lot of experience with them, but I did a volleyball event last week. Everybody is keeping their distance and wearing masks and they're doing fine. It's volleyball. It's not like you're on top of each other. You don't have to have physical contact aside from the ball being touched around.
I signed up in December and I didn't go to an event until Covid hit, so it was a little awkward meeting in the first one. There was nothing bad about it, aside from all the Covid stuff, having to wear a mask and all that. A professional photographer came and took pictures if you wanted them, to use for LinkedIn or whatever, and it was an okay event. There was a good amount of people there too, 20 people or so. Considering Covid and the social distancing, Events and Adventures is doing what they can. There's a lot of online events that they’re trying to do, like Zoom meets, a Zoom happy hour and things like that.
Thank you for the feedback Robert!

I found out about Events and Adventures through a friend and I was interested in their different activities. It’s a good opportunity to do activities that you wouldn't normally do or think about doing. My first event was a bowling thing. I also did activities like wakeboarding, trapeze, and ax throwing. I like the trapeze school. Through Events and Adventures, I'm trying to get to know people.

Events and Adventures is an amazing group where you get to go out and do different and fun events with other single people. I was interested in getting out there and meeting new people in person by doing events. I was excited during my very first event. I've attended two events so far. One was doing a bingo event and the other was playing volleyball.

Going to a singles club with Events and Adventures was a better way to put my self out there instead of trying to figure out if someone's single or not. So I went, had an appointment and then signed up that day on the spot. That was three weeks right before the whole quarantine started. I signed up for an 18-month plan. So I'm concerned that if I get into a relationship sometime in between, I still have to be paying for a club that I won't necessarily be attending because it's full of singles.
Different cities host different types of virtual events. But there aren't too many people that wanna do the virtual events. Some of them were kinda boring for me ‘cause it was the same people over and over again. There were a lot of older folks that were out of my age bracket and they were in another city. I'd rather do the in-person events, especially in my city, because I know people who actually live in Illinois. But I did sign up for some more events in August. So hopefully that'll be a lot better with some actual in-person events.

I'm in the north suburbs and when I find events with Events and Adventures that are close to me, they fill up really quickly and it's not good for people that have a toddler. I don't really wanna be traveling far and I really wanna go to something local. I understand that a lot of things are limited as far as capacity because of the restrictions with opening up. So if we have to downsize the participation in events, having more events in each area will l even that out a little bit. So far, I've only gone to online events. But I was disappointed with the love and blind event where they were only matching with people that were in Seattle. I attended twice and was disappointed both times.

I heard about Events and Adventures through a friend and I joined to go do something. But so far, I haven’t done anything with them. I probably made a mistake paying out the money for it but whatever the case is, I’m sure if we ever get to do something with them, it'll be fun. The one thing that I was gonna do was this fireworks thing. I live in Austin. It was in Dallas and the company that was doing the fireworks trip for everybody canceled the day of the trip, which ticked me off. I already went up to Dallas, took all the time out of my day and my weekend to do it. I called the day before and they said that everything's a go.
All the boats in Austin that do the same kinda thing all went out. So, the company that Events and Adventures chose to do that cancelled when they shouldn't have. So, the only event that I've done since I've joined was gonna be that one, and it got canceled, leaving me paying for a whole weekend in Dallas for Fourth of July when I could’ve done things in Austin. So, I'm not very happy about that. I would like to receive the money back that I paid for that boat trip we’re supposed to go on. They canceled because of the COVID and nobody has told me and said that I was gonna get my money back. They need to get that taken care of for me. I paid good money for their thing and I expect that when it gets canceled, they would call me back and say, “Here’s the money.” If they wanna get a bad report, that'll do it. I paid 60 bucks and it wasn’t that much but I probably paid four times that, just going up there and then not doing it.
Events and Adventures is an event where you do things with people. You go snow skiing or go float in the river. I could care less about doing virtual things with anybody. That's nothing to me. If that's all that they’ll offer, I made a big mistake joining. I got things to do here in Austin that I could do freely without having to sit inside and do something on a virtual computer. If they said that it is what they do when they don't have anything else to do, I will say that I’ll just save my money.
This is awful to hear John. We will get this addressed and find out what happened. I am so sorry to hear about this.

I saw the activities and everything and I was very interested. I signed up. The events I've gone to were really good. They are always so nice to me and it has been a nice experience. But I signed up for a trip and I had a little problem because my doctor told me I couldn't go. I didn't know that I would need to pay for it if I cancel. I signed up with Events and Adventures at the wrong time because of COVID. Trying to pick up a social life, meet new people and do different things at this time is hard to do with what's going on. The virtual meetings were okay. But it's hard trying to sign up and be in a social group to be around people, but then you still can't be around people. So far, the ones that I've met have been really fine. It was different, being some of them already knew each other. They were friendly and nice and we had conversations. I was just getting out of a breakup and I didn't have any healthy habits going out with somebody that I was living with. They were always trying to get drunk. So, I was trying to branch out and find other activities. I looked up Events and Adventures and kept hearing radio advertisements. Right before my first event, I was apprehensive but excited. I wasn't too excited about the initial group that I was going to or the event that I was going to though. It probably would have been a little more interesting if I hadn't had such a busy schedule and could've checked one of the other sporting events but the one I've gone to was a bar meetup. But all in all, it was a positive experience.
I joined in February and I have put my account on hold because I moved to New York. I'm a COVID nurse and just want to get back with them once this kinda gets more resolved or if I move back to Denver. They said they could suspend it indefinitely, which was outside of what I thought was contracted because normally, it's a three-month hold. But they told me to just let them know whenever I'm in a city that has E&A. I don't know if that's individual to me or if that's part of what their handling of the crisis is. I feel bad that everybody's suffering through this together. Hopefully, they can figure out a way to adapt.
The website seems amateur. I noticed from the beginning that it's not very smooth and the calendar seems a bit juvenile or has almost like a 90s clip art feel to it. I was wondering if somebody could put some time and effort and money into that. Even the webpage isn't formatted very well. The links are very old school internet, hyperlinked and in blue underline in Times New Roman. There's a lot to be desired as far as the graphic and visuals of the website. Otherwise, Events and Adventures is nice and it's a cool program. The people in the program is an interesting crowd and I hope it gets even bigger than it already is.

I had a good time at my first event at Events and Adventures. It's something to do. I'm a very social person, so when I don't have anything else to do, I'll sign up for an event. They had virtual speed dating or happy hours, but I didn't attend any of those. I just told them to put my account on freeze for two months. Then in June, I signed up for a few events that ended up getting canceled because we weren't able to have them. So, June was a wash in terms of paying my membership but really not being able to do anything. But I've already been to two events in July and I have another one tomorrow. I went to a pick-up volleyball game, like in a park, and I went to a gun range.
Everything that's been all weird has not been their fault 'cause of the coronavirus. But I feel like if your account's frozen, you shouldn't have to pay that month, which doesn't really matter either way 'cause you just get an extra month at the end of your membership where you're not paying. So, it works, but they're just getting money in their hand now rather than in a year. So, that's a little frustrating. But in a year, when I'm still doing events and not paying for it, I geuss it will work out. But overall, it's a little confusing 'cause it's a singles club, but I signed up for an 18-month membership. What if I get in a relationship right now? Am I not allowed to go to events? Do I still have to pay? It seems a little weird to sign up for something a year and a half away when you're trying to get in a relationship.

I started with Events and Adventures during COVID so my first event was virtual. Then I did one event in person on the 4th of July. It was supposed to be the boat and the fireworks, but they canceled the fireworks so I just went with the boat ride with drinks. Afterward, it seemed like it was overpriced. One of the reasons I did it was I figured going through Events and Adventures, the events and stuff would be discounted or cheaper, but it felt like I could have gotten the same thing on Groupon for half the price. Events and Adventures charged $70 and I gotta pay for drinks and there was no food. So I was running to get a hotdog before we left. The boat we went with was not considerate of the group. So next time, Events and Adventures should book with somebody else that was more appreciative of bringing the number of people they had.
I liked the virtual event and I made a couple of friends after that. Most of the people that were on the event were out of Miami, from Phoenix, Seattle., But there wasn’t that many from Chicago, so that was a little hard. But there were still some pretty okay people. I have seen a lot of people that seem nerdy, coming out of the shell, maybe more of introverts, trying to step out and do something new. I have no problem encouraging people at the events and I am also trying to do the same. So the virtual events were pretty okay.
Events and Adventures is a good idea and I appreciate their creating a circle of people that are looking to be social connecting with. When you’re paying for something, you’re expecting more of it. And Events and Adventures is weeding people out by paying a little bit. So, I'm expecting the quality of people to be different than if I just signed up on Meetup or something like that.

After the interview, it's nice to know that there are adults that are in good mental health and are financially stable. I signed up back in late February so I was able to do about six events before COVID started. It was enjoyable enough and it was a comedy club. I've made a few friends, but because I only went to six events, it's not like I've had a chance to get to know folks that well. But when I go to events and I see them, we chit-chat and hang out together.
The events were great. However, because I live in Anna, it's always gonna be a 45-minute drive for me for stuff that's in Dallas, so that's really the biggest drawback for me. I don't typically like to go during the week, 'cause I just can't get out of work in time. I'm limited to Friday, Saturday, and, sometimes, Sunday. If there's absolutely an event that I wanna go to, then I will go during the week, but normally, I don't. Also, I thought the cost was a little pricey on top of paying for events 'cause I thought the majority of the events were gonna be covered. I know not everything is gonna be covered like baseball games or hockey games. Having more out of pocket was not what I expected, but I understand.
I've only been to two virtual events. One was Flirting 101, which was fun 'cause there were people from all across the country and you got a chance to do some chatting online. But it's not like I could really talk to them. It was more typing notes back and forth and that was a two-and-a-half-hour event. The other one was the Tai Chi. That one wasn't as great because it was hard to get a full-body picture of yourself and the instructor to see all the moves that she was doing, plus, some of the angles that she was at. It was fun enough, but that one could've been a little better. The price for virtual is the same. They haven't switched anything.
I think Events and Adventures extending the expiration date of membership. It's three months or six months so I guess it's a good offset. But even some of the virtual ones, you're still paying money. This is just such a unique situation to be in. I'm sure those things will evolve the longer we stay in this situation where we can't go anywhere. They have events where you can meet other folks, and, of course, you have to social distance, like the paddle-boarding or some kayaking too. Those are great. I just haven't been to them.
Thank you for the feedback Iliana! I hope you have been able to attend more events and enjoy our service, as well as any virtual events.

I only did virtual events and everyone on Events and Adventures did a good job. It was as fun and engaging as virtual could be. I've done a lot of virtual communication for work and it takes a lot more energy. I did notice that I was so sad when they were over, not even like, "I had a good time." It was like the gap that's left when your computer shuts off is pretty low. It's a different experience. It's kind of awful. Whatever games they had going or trivia, I had a hard time even answering their question because I feel like they just interact in response to others. Events and Adventures did the best they could with what they had. The people that were on it really spoke highly of the program.
The process of becoming a member was pretty high pressure and I didn't like that very much. It doesn't work very well for me being a single mom and I've only got two nights off. It's just not a good fit to me. So I would tweak that process. I don't like that it's a contract I can't get out of. I'm pretty dissatisfied because of the way that the pay structure is built. I would feel a lot more comfortable paying month to month going. Now, I just want out of it and I wouldn't recommend it.

One of them was like a murder mystery. Then one time, we played Cards Against Humanity. And then I went to a dating event, but it wasn't speed 'cause they ended up putting us with one person for 20 minutes and then I ended up getting the same person again for the next 20 minutes which I thought was a little bit of a mistake there. But I found out about the Facebook page that they had told me about stuff and that it was posted there. So I have since joined the Minneapolis Facebook page where a lot of those updates are made. Also, I've only been to one event so we haven't really exchanged phone numbers or do anything outside of the group yet. I personally enjoy the virtual event. I'm not always able to hook up with my friends so it's nice to be able to pick and choose what I wanna do during the months and get out and do fun things, like physical things and not just dinner.
I was a little nervous arriving at the first event I went to, but the people were so friendly. I was both nervous and excited going to my first event because I'm older and I don't do much of this kind of thing. I was concerned also. The age ratio that they have was kind of too young for me and different.
The events have been fine. In the beginning, I don't like to drive much, so I like the fact that they are making sections of the city and I can choose whatever I feel comfortable going to. But I drove long distance to go all the way to Thornton and that was one of my first events. It was a lot of fun. And then, after that, we broke into groups and went to dinner. I still have good friends that came out of that outing.
But I've been with some others that were not that good, but it's okay. I love to dance, so I went to two of the salsa dances in La Rumba. The first one didn't have that many people. Only two guys went and then they left early because they were going to another party. I decided to give it another shot and the second time, we had a blast. There were so many guys that were willing to dance, so it was awesome. And you can't predict those things. You don't know who's gonna go and who's gonna show up and sometimes it's just you have to try again.
I've been dying to do the trips. They look fantastic. But my whole family is in Mexico, so if I'm gonna take a trip, I'll go see my family. I'm looking forward to do a trip someday. Also, they're getting very creative with this COVID restriction and they're getting a lot of good stuff out there for the virtual. I've been with Events and Adventures for two years and I've enjoyed just doing new things and almost anything that I couldn't or wouldn't do with my other friends, like hot air ballooning, bubble soccer, and outdoor stuff. I like being social without having to work to be social. Somebody gathers your friends and I've made good friends from it too. I've been eyeing a lot of vacation trips, but I usually travel internationally on my own.
For me, the virtual events are lifesavers. I enjoy them but I tend to not do the virtual events outside of my city because I know a lot of the people in San Francisco and Santa Clara. I like seeing the people I know. I'm not as interested on meeting new people virtually, especially since I know once this is over that I'm less likely to see them physically.
With the was E&A advertises themselves, there are some people that they still think it's a dating service. From what I've heard, some people are sold that way through some of the salespeople. One of the reasons it works really well for me that is it aligned with my expectations and what I was wanting to get out of E&A, which was not necessarily solely focused on meeting someone romantically. If that happens, great. But it was more of I wanna meet new people and go to different places. If I also happen to meet somebody romantically, then that would be great.

Trying to meet somebody and getting out and doing stuff interested me about Events and Adventures. I didn't know what to expect before arriving at my first event and I was a little nervous. I just went to go and it was only so-so. It was something that I wouldn’t do normally. But I had a lot more fun at my second event since it was a physical activity and there were more people that I connected with. I’ve been a member since February and I've gone to a total of 10 events. I usually do and play a lot of volleyball. Then the whole COVID stuff and I really didn’t do any of the online ones. But the last month, we’re doing things back up and we’re going back again.

I like Events and Adventures' activities. There are different activities that you can choose, but there are some dining experiences that I'd like nicer restaurants. I like that part because even though it's a little more expensive than the others, it's very nice. I like those kinds of restaurants or activities. Sometimes, for events that are on Wednesday or Tuesday, it's difficult to go because I don't live in the city. I live in the North Shore and it's too long to go. The traffic is two hours when we have normal activities. Recently, when the COVID started, I put the membership on pause. I haven't returned yet because I am still cautious, but it's very nice that they have virtual things to do. I didn't join the virtual activities because, in my work, I have to do all day virtual meetings. To add more was not good for me.

I joined Events and Adventures because I couldn't keep doing the same thing expecting different results. It was a huge financial commitment because I was unemployed at the time. My first event was a game night in Denver. The people were really welcoming. I'm a pretty outgoing person, which is the difference with most of the people that are in this group. They're not very outgoing and very shy and I'm not. That helped the scenario quite a bit. It was a good time. I was sold on the idea that the men were a different caliber and I wasn't finding that to be the case. I was so irritated and but I went to the event the next day and I met my boyfriend. We've been together for three months now. My account's been frozen since April because I found a boyfriend. Also, I do enough with work virtually that with the idea of getting on a Zoom call, I'd rather chew my eyes out. I don't have complaints about it, it's just not a thing for me.

I felt a little bit nervous during the first event I attended with E&A, but the person that I interviewed with was very nice and reassuring that it's a pretty nice group of people. So far, I've only just done online stuff because of the lockdown with the Coronavirus. But I've done quite a few virtual activities. I really enjoy the more casual things. Like they had a night where we just ordered pizza from our favorite pizza place and then we got to go into breakout rooms and chat with people. I really enjoyed the music trivia that they do. We also did a paint night one night online, and that was fun. That kinda got me started on a paint-by-numbers project that took me a long time to finish, but it did get me started on something and gave me something to do while everything is still the way that it is as far as the pandemic is concerned.

I was in the military and I was constantly moving everywhere and I never settled down in one place. I don't have a strong base for friends and so, I decided to join Events and Adventures and start hanging out with people. In my first event, it felt interesting. I walked in there, immediately, a few people said, "Hello." However, it's attracting people who haven't figured out that they're the problem as an individual. I've had some interesting interactions with the members. That's the only negative side that I have. There are a lot of people there that are extremely rude. They see it as a hookup group.
The only reason I learned any of this is because on my very first outing, one of the popular gals that everyone liked is now my girlfriend and we've been dating since my first event. So, if I go in there and I try to go, "Hey, gentlemen, how are you? Let's play pool." No one talks to me 'cause I'm dating the one person they all wanted. It's like high school with people between the ages of 25 and 50.
But the people running it have always been good. When I walked down the office, everyone was really nice. They sold me the product, I bought it. All of the hosts do their best to make everyone feel inclusive. I've only had one host put on a front. One time I saw him, everything was like all happy. The next time I went when they weren't hosting, he was a completely different person.

It took me a minute to fully relax on my first event with Events and Adventures but everyone was very nice and easy to talk to. They were extremely welcoming. I've been to only two events so far due to Covid. Everything else was kinda canceled on me and I'm an emergency services responder, so I haven't been able to do all the online events that they were having. But I've met quite a few people at both of the events that I went to and got to do some things that I normally wouldn't do on my days off by myself, so that was nice. But with everything that's happening with COVID, I was kinda disappointed that they kept charging me and just had online events that I wasn't interested at all.

The prospect of dating interested me about Events and Adventures. I was kinda anxious before my first event but it changed a little when I arrived. I've been to about 13 events by now. I've done the game night and a few of the hikes and my favorite is the Castles ‘N Coasters. So far, it's been an interesting time, concerning COVID. But I don't blame Events. It’s just one of those times.

I wanted to meet new friends, new people and hopefully eventually find a relationship. So I joined Events & Adventures. It took a few events to feel more comfortable. A lot of events I attended have been virtual events because I joined in February. So I haven't had a lot of time without COVID stuff. That really changes the game. I was only able to attend three in-person events. But I really liked the kayaking. And online, I really liked the baking. I'm doing one event tonight virtually. It's cross stitching because it's an Arts and Crafts Night. I have a good time meeting new people and trying new things. I would never have gone kayaking if it wasn't for them.

Events and Adventures was advertising highly on the radio stations that I was listening to and that was when I learned of them. I looked up a few things online that were available and was interested in talking with someone. When I went out, I knew that I was going to be signing up for it by then. Before going to my first event, I was cautiously excited, but, by the time I left the event, I felt like it was a very good opportunity to meet a very diverse group of people. I have been in for two years and I have been to some events that are a little bit bigger, like camping for the weekend. I have also tried to do that every year. I tried to go to at least four a month and did karaoke some of the times. There are lots of different things. I enjoyed Memorial Day weekend where two of our cities would get together and do a camping event. But this last Memorial Day weekend was canceled because of COVID. In total, I have been to at least 25 events.
They have also done a lot of Zoom meetings for different events like Love is Blind, where they turned on your camera and you would talk to certain people, and then at the end, they got to see what they looked. I liked the games that they did a little bit more. They had one where they did East Coast versus West Coast for Family Feud, where everybody got on and got to answer. The host had a board game for us to play, and then they have done a couple of high low or different games online, which has been fun. They ended up replacing their Memorial Day weekend as well, where they are getting back together at the same place near the end of July. But it is saying that masks are required, so I do not know if I'm completely up for that or not.
Overall, every event that I have gone to has been a good time. But, whenever I talk to anybody about Events and Adventures, it is quite an expense to put on going out and getting to know everybody type thing. When I started, I had calculated the expenses and I was prepared for it, but a lot of people that I have been in with have been very dissatisfied with prices.

I love Events and Adventures. I have only gone to three events because Coronavirus started as soon as I signed up. It is, nevertheless, starting to open back up, which is good. I want to go to way more events because I love the ones I went to. The ones that I have gone to have been all hiking and then a couple of the virtual events. One of them was a trivia one. I like the hiking because I already like hiking and going to new places. It is nice to not have to corral people and organize it all and work with everyone's schedule. There are way more things I want to go to, but some of them cost money, so that was why I had been doing the hiking. I need a little bit more of a budget right now.
I joined the group for the adventures and to socialize more. The events that I have gone to, I have not seen the same person twice. It has been new people at every single event. But, I'm looking forward to seeing people more frequently. I'm going to work on going to more events. I love going out and I love socializing, and I've always had to do the work. It is nice because this gives me the ability to do that without having to set everything up, figure everything out, and then have people flake on me. And then, the ones that do end up going are like dragging and they are no fun. Overall, Events and Adventures is a great way to meet new people. It is a brilliant idea.

I enjoyed Events and Adventures for the most part. The Chicago group was more about friendships than really finding someone to date and it was the same people all the time. There were new introductions but I didn't see a lot of connections. I enjoyed going out and meeting new people but across the board, I didn't see a lot of numbers being exchanged and people dating other people. It was more of a hangout.

I joined Events and Adventures maybe 12 years back, before I knew that there are better ways to meet people, like Meetup. I think I paid a lifetime membership with Events and Adventures but I haven’t attended an event in years. Most of the events I did go to were very random and I think most of the people didn't show up. There are much more organized ways to do it. Most of the events are free and then some of them are paid. But It's hard to know who is coming. That needs to improve. They don’t have a way to communicate between members. They don’t have a chatroom within the system. They ask you to go to this third-party application and then create a group on that. Every time you sign up for an event, it's a separate group. So it gets complicated. It's not properly integrated with the current user systems.
They need to build an app. They need to fix the user-experience and it should be mobile first in this age. I even offered them to help and build an app for them. But they still use the website and it's still the same old ‘10, ‘15-ish website. There are no updates. Everybody is upgrading but, for some reason, Events and Adventures is not. They have these ads that say go to the website. But who is gonna go and type in there on their mobile phone?
Even the layout on the mobile browser is the same desktop layout. So you can't even go to the website on the phone. You can't even enter or type anything. If you're outside or not in front of your computer, it's very hard to access their website. It's very hard to sign up for something and even if you sign up, you can't follow whatever you've signed up for for a week or two ahead of time. If you wanna sign up for this week, they're pretty much already gone. Even their calendar system is so outdated. It's kind of hard to know what the hell is happening. So they keep sending emails.

Events and Adventures was something for me to get out and meet new people. For my first event, I was pretty nervous the whole night. But I had fun and there were people that I kinda got to know. It was the more I went that I really became less nervous. There are a lot of variables in the events that you don’t know. It got to the point where I would tell somebody I wanted go to this event and somebody would ask who was gonna be there. I was like, “I don’t know. I’m just going.” Some events were fun in general but a lot of times what made something, like something as simple as the volleyball, really fun would not solely depend upon playing volleyball. It would just depend upon who is there hanging out with you. I made some friends so we would try and go to the same event and then it would just be fun doing those events with them.
Events & Adventures did the volleyball every Tuesday but I didn't actually go to play volleyball. I went for the hanging out. I would bring other games, play and hang out with some of my friends that I had met through there. I also did the paddleboarding, the axe-throwing, the rock-climbing and the spy adventure. I went through the Memorial Day camping and different things like the coffee-making, the paint night and the glass-making. I also went to the county fair and the archery class and then I did the end-of-the-summer bash.
But I really haven't gone back because it’s still kind of the pandemic type thing. I haven't done the online events because, with my job, I was spending all day on my computer – I'm a teacher. The virtual wasn’t something I wanted to do. But before that, especially like last summer when I wasn’t working, I went to a lot of different things. I tried to keep myself fairly busy. Then when I was working, I usually tried to do something every weekend and if there was something that was really interesting to me during the weekdays, I would do that.
It’s fun getting to know different people. The one thing about Events and Adventures is that I really tried to push myself out of my comfort zone and try new things. Then there were other people there that were trying new things too. So it’s nice seeing newbies because you can’t always go to something, like archery or axe-throwing, and be a professional at it. At Events and Adventures, there are other people that are new too so they're learning with you. I would recommend it but it’s all dependent upon how much money they have too.
Thank you so much for your review Stacey!

I joined Events and Adventures so I can go out and have a good time and not be on a date. Dating sucks and this allows me to go do something. I found a few people who kind of understand where I'm coming from and we've been hanging out. But there's a lot of high school stuff going on. It's a lot of dating, a lot of cross-dating, people dated other people. And most of us don't really fit in in society and now, we have a group of us are all together. It doesn't make things any better, it's just when we show up to a function, we all know each other. Also, the cost is outrageous for what we paid to get into the group and then what we have to continue to pay. But I'm also very old. I'm one of the oldest people in the group and a lot of the kids are in their late 20s or 30s. They're used to everything being expensive.
I find that I get along better with the older people. We seem to see eye-to-eye and we can kinda click. The younger people are the ones not welcoming the open opinion. They still want to politically correct and make sure everything is nice and friendly. As far as the organization, I think it's a great idea. I jumped on it hook, line, and sinker 10 years ago because I saw the idea. The bad side of it is the people who come into it are not always the best people and people who are willing to spend a lot of money are not always the best people. I made a lot of friends and I try to be very nice to everybody. I've met some great people but they're all just from a different walk of life.
Also, I think everybody should bring a friend like they suggest. A lot of people get jaded that once you paid, you're stuck in, then you have to go do the stuff to get your money's worth and that's kind of you don't get a chance to really see what it's like before you spent your money. It seems amazing on day one and then day 29, you have to make your payment, you’re like, "Why did I do this for?" And whereas the events change all the time.

Events and Adventures has been very good. I have been able to go to one or two events, and I have done a lot of the virtual ones. I'm a single mom, and thankfully, the father of my kids is very involved with them. So, I have a network of other single mom friends, but most of them could never usually go out to do anything. So then, I have a couple of single friends who I would go out and hang out with and have dinner and meet at a bar. But with this whole COVID thing, I was like, "Okay, well, I cannot go meet the single friends, I cannot have anybody over." Then I sat home with my kids and I was like bored to tears.
Then, I heard the commercial on the radio for the Events and Adventures and I remembered hearing this years ago. I said that I should think about it because it said that they were doing a lot of virtual events. So, I joined in and I made a bunch of new friends right away. It has been fun. I have been chatting with them all day, so I have not gotten that much done. It is a whole diverse group, where we range in age from 25 to 65 -- I'm 46. I'm probably one of the older people in the group, but it does not bother me because I'm young at heart. We have talked about doing all kinds of stuff together, especially I have met good girlfriends. Even though they are younger and they do not have kids, I still enjoy their optimism.
I also feel like I can give them a little bit of my wisdom here and there without being a total downer. We are all having a good time and it is fun to flirt with all these different people, and, at the same time, we are all learning from each other. We would have deep discussions one night, and then like totally just joking around the next night. There are a few possibilities in the group for me and I'm like, "If it happens, it happens. And if not, that's fine too."
We are glad to have you as a member Audra! Thank you!

It was also really good to get together on the members’ meeting and kind of like low-key be able to meet everybody in the South Florida area. It was a good number of 20 people that showed up and it was really a chill atmosphere. We rented a brewery type place and we had our own private room. So, it was really nice, really safe and I really enjoyed it.

I’m relatively new to Denver. I’ve been here about a year and a half and have some people that I spend time with, but I was looking to do more activities than these folks do. I was looking to join a group that I could do a variety of things like hike, raft and climb and all those kinda things. I joined Events & Adventures at the end of January so I only went to four events before COVID happened. And I’ve only been on three since things have started to open back up.
Even though I’ve been with Events & Adventures for six months I haven't been to a lot of events and I still feel like a new member. There are a lot of people in the group, but I feel like I see the same people so I don’t know where the other people are or why they don’t go. But as a new member, and I knew you have to be single to be in it, there's a lot of harassing that goes on. Even as a guy, you get a lot. I have heard from other people that people come to one or two events and are harassed to the point where they never come back. And that’s one of the reasons I was hesitant on joining because I was not looking to date anyone. I'm thinking I would stop going to the drinking events and go more to the outdoors or volleyball or something like that where maybe that won’t happen as much.
When I joined there was a calendar that they showed me and I was told to circle the events I might be interested in. But there are things I felt kind of like a little bit tricked on because the calendar had no price. And some of the events I encircled were hundreds of dollars. The fee that I paid to join, I thought, would cover a lot of the fees or make some of the cost of events cheaper than they are, so that was a miscommunication or maybe I misunderstood. I don’t know that I would reup once my time is done.

I wanted to make some new friends and I was nervous before arriving at my first event but it absolutely changed after I arrived. I joined about nine events. My favorite was the networking event that they had and the bingo was fun. My favorite events are any of the stuff that they have at bars where you’re just out talking to people. Once the world gets back to normal, I like to go to more events. I’ve signed up for the camping trip on Memorial Day weekend if that still happens. I haven't made any close friends but I haven't gone to enough events.
Events and Adventures is a singles club and they have an event every other night of the week, but my main complaint is they not always have an event on a Saturday night. They’ll have a Saturday afternoon activity and I have my kids 24 days a month. I'm only able to go to an event every other week because I have my kids most of the time. I'm not the only single parent in the club by far and if I'm on the same weekend schedule, somebody else there is having the exact same problem that I have. Also, that same Saturday activity will be the afternoon activity and it all involves food. I have food allergies. So, a lot of times, that means there’s nothing for me to do that day.
There’s a big premium on this club. So a part of me is asking whether should I continue paying for this when half of the time I can’t even use it because they don’t have an event on Saturday nights. When I contacted them, their rep just said that they have all these other events during the week. But I can't go to those. I attend their event every time I can because that’s all I've got. So I would like to see them have a Saturday night activity every Saturday night.

I work out of my house, I’m single, and my kids are grown. So, I spend a lot of time by myself and I wanted to get out there, socialize, and have an opportunity to do some things or go to some places that I might not have even known about. I wasn’t necessarily looking for dating, but if it happens, great. If it doesn’t, that’s okay too. I signed up with Events and Adventures on the Friday of Memorial weekend and the first event I attended was on the following Sunday. It was a brunch and they told me that lots of people were gone at the camping event that they did with Chicago, so I wouldn’t be seeing a lot of people there. But I felt good about it. It’s always a little weird to show up for things when you don’t know people, but the people that I met there were friendly.
I also went to some E&A events in Phoenix when I spent the entire month of January down there and the experience was kinda nice. I went to an Indian dinner and a mixer at a member’s house where they did a card game and had a chili cook off. I also went to comedy club event down there. In the summer, I will sign up for events where it requires a deposit and I like the boating ones that they have done in the summertime. I've been to three different boating events and I also like the pub crawl ones. I would go to more dinner ones, but they seem to be limited in the number of people that they can allow, so they fill up really fast. And I know that’s because the restaurants won’t allow more than a certain number of people in reservation. But still, it’s kind of disappointing if you wanna go.
Other than that, I don’t like going to anything in the winter because I hate winter with a passion. It gets really cold here and the weather can turn on the dime. And sometimes, they have events where you have to pay and if there’s any kind of weather, I won’t go. Then I lose my deposit on it or I lose everything on it. So, I tend to not sign up for anything in the wintertime that requires a payment. If it’s a happy hour or some kind of a micro-brew get-together and anybody can just show up, I might go to those because if there’s a weather event, it doesn’t matter if I cancel it. So, in the wintertime I tend not to sign up for those types of events.
Then sometimes, there are issues of getting on the website on signup day. It crashes or it says that you don’t have authorization. So, by the time you get logged on, everything you want is full. All those types of special things that have limited numbers are full, so that could be disappointing. Sometimes that happens, but sometimes it doesn’t. And right now, everybody is super disappointed because of the COVID-19 thing. I have no desire to attend virtual events and I haven't done anything since the COVID thing started because my point in joining is to get out of the house and do real things with real people. So, I’ve spent enough time on my own.
Also, when I signed up, the guy that signed me up told me that there were 6,000 members in the Twin Cities and I thought that was awesome, but I don’t see that. And I’m seriously doubting if there are 600, so I felt like I was lied to. So, I’ll give it a year, which will be over by end of May, then if I don’t feel better about it, I'm gonna see if I can get some of my money back and cancel my membership. I bought the three-year membership and I can’t get a membership hold. Plus, I wasn’t really using it very much because I felt like a lot of times the events were the same old stuff all the time and they need more fresh is ideas. I could just pay for a year and get a refund on the rest because I feel like it’s the same 50 people that show up for everything.
We would like to apologize for your experience Barbara. We're sorry to hear you were less than satisfied with Events & Adventures. We are actually working on getting our site moved to a new server for an improved member experience. We are also working on an app!
We can definitely offer you a freeze on your membership- we always allow members to freeze their accounts when needed, especially during this difficult time. We actually have a Senior Event Manager over Minneapolis now so you should see new events, currently we are doing a majority of events virtually to comply with CDC Guidelines and local mandates in regards to Shelter In Place orders. We are excited to get back to our normal activities!

I heard about Events and Adventures over nine years ago on the radio, and I had recently become a widow. I had no friends in the city of Arizona, and so I joined them to make friends. I enjoyed doing the hiking, going on the hot air balloon, and doing weekends away in Sedona. There were so many things like horseback riding -- you name it. Events and Adventures was a lifesaver for me because I knew absolutely nobody in Arizona at the time this all happened. And if it wasn’t for them, I would, probably, have gone insane from being alone. One instance that always stuck in me was during my first year with them. I did the New Year’s Eve party and I knew nothing. Mark, the owner, got me out of my shell. I have made over 200 friends already. I would highly recommend Events and Adventures for somebody who does not know anybody in the state. They are my family in Arizona.

A friend told me about Events & Adventures a long time ago. I've been in the club since ’09. I've got a lifetime membership and at the time I was sold that, I was not happy with the sale procedure because I know a lot of people paid a lot less than me. That’s water under the bridge. They have inconsistent pricing things. But I met a good variety of people. I've made some good friends there. They do have some fun events although sometimes it waxes and wanes about how good their events were. We had a great person named Austin for a while, who’s done a really good job of bringing up new events and new ideas, but he did not stay. My understanding is he wanted to stay but it just didn’t work out. That is on the management side. They lost a good person.
He was very positive. He definitely chose the more interesting cultural events, and he went out of his way to get different stuff. For a while, the club really stagnated. It had the same events over and over again. I stopped looking at the calendar. I was like, “Oh, it’s a food meet up.” So then, he would do some more things like going to museums and a bit more cultural stuff. So, that was a bit of variety, which was nice. He definitely brought some good energy that was needed because it was definitely stagnating to the point where I was not recommending anybody to join the club. It was like it’s not worth it. When he was gone, I was really disappointed and the events have slipped again, although right now, there’s nothing going on because of COVID-19.
When Events & Adventures had a variety of events, that was nice. I like the ones where you can talk to people. The game nights are really kinda fun although they time in with the new membership thing, so it gets kinda awkward to meet people. I haven't been going for a while. I'm busy. My father has had some medical issues. But I did go on the Cuba trip. That was good. The vendor who ran it wasn’t that great, but Curtis was there and he saw some of the problems, so he knew about it.
Long time ago, there was like an ongoing cocktail series, so it was kind of a history of cocktails. I was only able to go to one of them but it sounded like a really cool thing where you would go talk about the history of the cocktails and try it out and try how to make it. It’s very specific, but it’s also like you are learning something, too. It wasn’t just going to the bar and drinking. I went to the Mai Tai, which is I didn’t realize was a cocktail that’s been around for like ever and a day. That was something different and it was kind of interesting.
The only thing is I felt they did a really poor job of the initial handling of COVID-19. They even haven't updated the website. For a while, they were still holding events even though social distancing was very much encouraged. I'm in Seattle, which is a hotbed, and they were still holding events. I work in a hospital, so I was in-tuned to the situation. It was wildly irresponsible for how they handled that. And on one of the Facebook pages, there were some people trying to comment on that and the E&A side kinda went south the discussion from the people trying to defend themselves.
I’m a lifetime member and I don’t have to pay the monthly dues, but I felt bad for some people because I've read their update and they’re talking about, “Well, you can freeze your membership,” but it wasn’t like the way they were offering it is part of the standard freeze. It didn’t seem like they were able to offer everyone that had to pay the monthly dues and actually freeze it.
Then even now, they have online events for doing virtual do’s type stuff. I looked at one. It’s like a trivia thing online. I can do that at home but I had to pay for it. And I'm like, “Huh? Why am I paying for an online Zoom service?” Sometimes, the club is a bit too much about making money. Some of those fees don't add up for what it’s worth. I also think they need to get definitely more interesting because Meetup is a huge competitor of theirs and Meetup is free. Especially in Seattle, Meetup is very active and that’s why they needed to have more interesting events and that’s why I was upset when they lost Austin because things were getting good again. I'd tell others, “Go to Meetup. It’s a lot less money and they do some more events now.”
Anna we are sorry you feel this way. We do have different lengths of membership, which have different price points. We also have members in Seattle that have been members for almost 30 years! We are so glad you appreciated Austin. We do have a new event manager in Seattle-Emeline who is amazing as well.

I wanted to try out Events and Adventures because of the meeting people thing. I have enjoyed it very much so far. The cost is high, but the quality you get out of it is pretty good. However, their website could be designed better. If I have to do it on my phone to find stuff, it doesn’t really work that well.

One of my friends told me about Events and Adventures so it was on word-of-mouth. Not that that person was involved in the group, but it’s the one that I had heard of so I chose it. And it advertised itself as being more of finding things to do with other people who are like-minded, rather than a dating site. It’s exactly that. I love it. My schedule is weird. I work when everybody else is not working so it’s a little difficult. But anything artistic, going to the theater or museums, and then all of the dancing stuff, that’s my cup of tea. I love those.
Anna thank you for your review!

I had so much fun with Events and Adventures. I moved to Texas almost two years ago, and as a grown up, it was hard to meet people to go hang out with. And so, when I found out about them, the activities that they offer have been so much fun and I have met some great girlfriends. Every Wednesday you show up and you can either hangout and chat with everybody or go play volleyball. I have also taken up fencing class, we have gone camping and tubing down one of the rivers, horseback riding, different dance lessons, dinners out and lunches. I have been having a blast.
Sydney, our activities coordinator, is so cool. She would come up with some great ideas for us to get together and go to. She is very bubbly and perky, and she knows everybody by name. So, it has been wonderful working with her. I, however, do not drink alcohol, and there is a lot of alcohol involved. One of the things that they go do is go out to the local breweries and go try beers or they go out to one of the areas where you can go bar-hopping, but those are not my thing -- if I have known about that beforehand, I would have negotiated a different price. Nevertheless, every activity that I have gone and done has been absolutely so much fun.
We are glad you have been enjoying our group!

I've been a part of Events and Adventures for about 10 years. I'm an introvert. I'm a little bit nervous going to an event. Over the years, I get to know people. And so typically, the same type events that I go to are people I've made friends with, so it's not as nervous as it used to be. I went to Egypt last year, I went to England the year before, and I've done Hawaii, Cabo and BC. I've done several of the travel events.
On the first one I went to which was Scotland, England, the description that was on the E&A site was misleading. Some of the expectations weren't really clear. I've never traveled internationally so there has been some things I would have really liked to have known ahead of time like most of the venues in Scotland close between 4:00 and 5:00. Had I known that, I would have planned my time differently. The whole tipping the bus driver, the tour guide, and all that stuff were not mentioned in the thing. But they did mention it in Egypt, so they fixed that.
A part of the description in London was we were gonna go through the Tower of London, the Westminster Abbey, and all these different places, but that wasn't what it was. It was a drive-by through the city. I'm glad I found out before I got on the bus, so I didn't get on it. One of the main events I wanted to go to in London was the Tower of London and to just experience a drive-by, I can get that on Channel 9. So that kind of irritated me a lot. The way it was written was more for people who travel internationally all the time, so they know these things. That was my first international trip and that was pretty discouraging. I actually emailed the head of the company about it too. He responded.
One of the other things that Events and Adventures wanna also think about when they're doing international is to be a little more wary about how they match people up, especially in age. In London, I was matched up with someone who was maybe 29. I'm 52. Because of my experience with her, I was very leery about going international. She ended up going to Egypt. I'm very glad I didn't get paired with her again. She wanted to go party. In London, they only gave me one electronic key. There were two people who's in. So the expectation was even though we only got one key, we had to go back down to get another key. And she took off with the key, so that meant I couldn't get a key, and I was locked out of the room. I hunted her down and I got her key. Being paired up with someone who is totally incompatible to you really makes the trip less enjoyable.
Events and Adventures might wanna do a little survey or something to kinda identify some basic things about people. That might be a better way of doing. Being paired with the incorrect person can make the trip a lot worse. Other than that,a lot of the local stuff as well is fun. I really had an enjoyable time in Cabo. Everyone did more stuff together. Hawaii was fine. It's just that with Cabo, Events and Adventures is in an area so you would have more dinners together and more interaction. They didn't have that as much in Hawaii. OMost of the local trips are pretty good.
Events and Adventures is doing a lot of virtual things. They're doing virtual yoga and virtual trivia. There's one trivia where it cost $20 and I'm not exactly sure why it does, so I didn't sign up for that one. But some of the other trivia are virtual and free. I've worked an awful lot right now so I haven't been doing a lot with Events and Adventures in the last couple of months. But I'm a lifetime member. I don't think the lifetime membership is really out there anymore. If you only have like a year or two membership, you really need to be proactive and get out there and try this stuff.
One of the things that you will notice is that Events and Adventures Seattle group tends to go into high school clique. The Vancouver, BC group is really friendly. They don't do the clique thing. I'm friends with a lot of the people in that group because they come down here sometimes, so that's nice. But, when there's an event, certain people group together and everyone has different personalities. Overall, I really enjoy being part of the group. I joined it because I got divorced and it does get me out of the house. I've done things I would have never done. I would have never gone to Egypt before or Europe by myself. And most of the travel, I would have never done by myself. With E&A, I’ve been able to go and do things like that, so that's kinda nice.
Thank you for your review, Brenda! We are always working to improve so we love your honest feedback

I was a little intimidated during the first event because you don’t know if people are gonna take you or if they’re going to be quirky and ignore you. I was anxious the whole time. But everyone was really friendly and bubbly. I attend two events per month now. All the events were fun, but the iHeart90s Dance at the Holiday Bazaar was a lot of fun. I like that it’s a bunch of people getting together having fun. Not you’re feeling like, “Oh, I have to go.” My friend calls it a dating club and I have to keep correcting him because I found it’s not a dating club. It’s a singles club. I wanted the opportunity to get out and do things here in Denver since I just moved here. I was nervous before my first event with Events and Adventures but that changed after I arrived. I have enjoyed meeting the people that I've met through E&A. I've probably done around six or eight of their events and trips. I've gone snowshoeing, which is my favorite. I also did the aerial thing with the silk and I've gone wine tasting and beer tasting. There was also the comedy club and bingo. I met an incredibly nice group of people and the events that E&A plans are things that I may not have been able to do otherwise on my own.
The problem is I haven't done any of their activities in the past couple of months. Also, they don't tell you that there is a possibility of being called when you sign up. It's just sort of curious that somebody calls you up and knows that you are an E&A member. But you don't know that person. I'm not opposed to it though. It might have been in the packet they gave.

I attended several events with E&A and they were good. I liked some of the sporting events more in the summertime. They were nice. The problem was I just didn't attend some of the things I wanted. I liked a lot of the different things though. It was like, "I wanna try that. Let me go do it." It was a fun way to try new things. I signed up kind of late towards the end of the year and I want to see what would be available in the summertime. I'm really kinda looking forward to that. I didn't take advantage of stuff last year.
I should attend events more frequently because it seems like people that attend frequently build a social community around them. It makes sense too. I kinda on and off engaging with E&A. Right now, I'm in the army reserves and I'm away for training. I'm kinda stuck here with everything that's going on. Also, under the quarantine, I don't think anybody's doing anything. I'll look more into it when I get back to see what things are available and what I might be interested in doing.

Events and Adventures offered a lot of activities that I wanted to try but never had the opportunity to do so. They were a pretty good vehicle to do those. Paintball was the first one I went to and everything was great. I had a good time. I've been with the company for four years and I did about 100 activities with them. Bubble soccer was my favorite one. You get inside a bubble and you play soccer. You try to knock each other out.
Through Events and Adventures, I got into a relationship early on with a member and we lasted a year. It was a pretty good relationship. It’s just things didn't work out in the end. I also met a bunch of friends through the company. I was pretty happy with the first three years that I was there. Everything was pretty good. I was pretty good friends with the coordinator, Alex, who was awesome.
But I took a break from the company for like a year and a half while I was in the relationship then I came back. Now, it’s not the same. In the beginning, everybody was mutual. It was a smaller group and more like a community of people. We all just hang out all the time. But this time around, a lot more people joined. It’s just different and I haven't done any activity lately. But I’ve also been invested in so many other things on my own that I haven't actually been there enough.
We're happy that you're happy, and we're looking forward to seeing you at more events!

I joined Events and Adventures maybe 10 years ago. When I first started, it was really fun meeting other people and doing the activities that I enjoyed doing. I actually met a friend and we've been friends for 10 years. That was probably because I was doing the activities instead of sitting around. Also, in the last couple of eight years, I got in a relationship. That was why I haven't been to the events. But when I was in it, I did mostly their cooking ones. That was really fun. There was also the beach fire. The only thing is I really enjoy traveling but the trips that E&A has, like the tips to South America, are all at the wrong times. They're not in the summer. Otherwise, I would do them.

Some are well-attended, while some aren’t. I felt a little nervous before I got to my first event, but I felt comfortable after. Overall, I've gotten a fair amount of enjoyment from Events and Adventures. It depends on what you're looking to get out of it though. I also liked that it was local because I was looking for a way to get out of the house and meet people. Arriving to my first event, I was so nervous. I hoped to make it on time. I was able to find the place and I was a little sore because I just went to a jump park. When I got there, it wasn’t that bad. People were pretty friendly and open. They wanted to get to know me and I kinda wanted to get to know them. It was good. The first night was the new members' icebreaker and the game night right afterwards. I love playing games so it was pretty cool. I really enjoyed myself.
So far, I really liked the hiking and the game night. We went to this place called Tea + Victory, which is where you play a bunch of games. It took like half a day and I really enjoyed myself there. There was an escape room too. I befriended a couple of people who I intend to chat with even if I don’t do Events and Adventures anymore. I try to go to maybe three to four events a month with the club. But recently, it hasn’t been that way and not even before corona. That was just my schedule. I could barely get to an event now.

I’ve been a member of Events and Adventures for a long time, back in Tampa, Florida. I decided to do it again because I fit the type of person that Events and Adventures is targeting in terms of not being in a relationship and looking for social activities. I like to do activities and be active, but tired of the bar scene or feel like I’m aged out of the bar scene, so looking to do fun activities with like-minded people.
I live in the Seattle area now, so I really enjoy the outdoor activities. The hikes and the walks are great. They have done, through the years, dinners or movie night, some other activities such as pottery or painting and wine. I’ve been doing all of those. Sometimes the hosting can be a little inconsistent. But the host in Oakland, California was fantastic. She was all personality, energy and she made a big difference. She was a magnet for the events and knowing that she was gonna be there, kinda sets a fun, energetic tone. I met a lot of folks too. I had a little bit of a small friend group that I had, for the first time, started to form here in the Seattle area that has never gotten in the way recently.

The first time I heard about Events and Adventures was 10 years ago on a radio and I really thought about it back then. But I was in a relationship so I didn’t join because I viewed it as a singles kinda dating club. Then I was single again about 5 months ago and I happened to see a billboard for it as I was going down the road. I remembered all the commercials I’ve heard on the radio and I thought they could be an interesting deal.
The very first event I attended was the Halloween party, and I really enjoyed it. It was fun. It was at their clubhouse, which they no longer have, but it had a really good attendance with a good mixture of people and good involvement as far as participation in the party. I've already been to 20 events and trips, and my favorite so far was New Year’s Eve or the timeframe between 8:00 PM on New Year’s Eve and 3:00 AM on New Year’s. We went to a hotel downtown and had a gambling night, dancing, and fun little sort of booths and prizes.
However, if it’s not a big event, the attendance is kinda hit and miss. It’s sparse for a lot of things. But I’ve been told that’s because of the time of year and the temperature outside. I don’t know why the temperature outside would make a difference on the inside event though. Still, being a member has been somewhat productive for my intent. I have made several new friends and I have had a few people that I’ve had some short involvement with.

Every time I went, there were new people and I was about the only one in my age group. When I asked about that in the beginning, Events and Adventures lied and said that that doesn’t happen. So every time I go, I was very nervous and self-conscious about having to introduce myself and selling myself to all these new people. It wasn’t a good experience for me. And with the events I like a couple of museum stops and then a dinner was cool. There was a bowling night and then I participated in a trivia night last week to a bar. That was fun.
Everybody is really kind. Some people are more introvert and they have a hard time going out and doing things and Events & Adventures is a good way to do it. And it's easier because they do a good job of doing a background screening, so it's not like going to a party and you have no idea who you're gonna meet. I have been hearing things about Events and Adventures on the radio since I was like a teenager. I moved back to Seattle and didn't have as many network of friends. So, the idea of having organized events and meeting people and getting out of the house and not having to plan myself made me go with them. My first event was a hike and it was fun. It was also dog-friendly, which was a big thing for me. However, there weren't many people there -- it was six of us. My second event was a Christmas Carol Christmas ships and it was also fun. But, again, there were only three of us at the Christmas ships.
They sold it hard, so I wished I could cancel, but I could not. There haven't been as many people at the events as they made it out to be when they sold me the membership, so that was been disappointing. The folks are a lot older than I though they would be. I don't know how they can increase the attendants at the events, and it probably has to do with the demographic. So, if they were a bit more honest or if they didn't suck you in at the beginning, and if they allowed some sort of trial period because it is hard with my schedule, then that would be nice. Now, I feel like I'm stuck. I, nevertheless, signed up for two other events coming up and I'm hoping I can go those ones.
Mallory we are sorry you did not enjoy your experience, we do have a new Event Manager in Seattle-Emeline. Especially right now during this difficult time we have more members than ever attending our virtual events! We hope you will give us another chance.

I like going to volleyball. I like the icebreaker meet-ups. Next week, I’m going to like a laser tag event. I wish they would schedule some of the flights later in the day instead of it like 5:00 AM because I just prefer afternoon flights. I feel like by the time you get to the hotel and you get there, everybody’s tired and exhausted from the flight. But besides that, the accommodations are nice and very well-organized. Everything’s already planned. You just kinda have the ability to enjoy yourself and not have to worry about activities or coordinating anything. Also, for the trips, it would be good to not have to pay for them so far in advance. A month or two would be good instead of like five or six.

On my job, Events and Adventures was recommended to me. It was great and one of the things I've enjoyed going to was the pub. But I had been doing other things and wished I hadn't joined. For instance, December was bad. One of the times, I couldn't go 'cause we had a snow thing. It's not their fault though. But I'm gonna try to go into more stuff starting next month and give it a little more chance. One thing though, I've tried online dating and it's not just for me. But Events and Adventure beats these online stuff for sure.

I was nervous before arriving at my first event with Events and Adventures. When you are going into a new group of people, it always is like that. But, when I started interacting, I felt great. It was a great bunch of people. In the year, I've been to 40 adventure events. The snowshoeing event and the swing dance we are doing right now are some of my favorites. For February, I've planned for the Valentine’s Day, a beer fest, a dog walk, the ballroom dancing, and night tubing up at Snoqualmie. Overall, everybody is very friendly and you don’t feel left out of anything.

I'm going to the Valentine's event for sure. I haven't had the chance to do a trip yet but that could be really nice.

When I went in for the interview, they told me there would be more free events than there were, and everything was really downtown and not in the area that I was. They said that there would be events up here and there really wasn’t. I've attended about five events. I liked the comedy clubs, but they were all about an hour and a half away from me. I met a couple of people too, but a lot of people kept to themselves or to the groups that they knew. I stopped going to events because I'm going through financial problems right now, where I'm barely able to pay for my house. I tried canceling, but they were saying I couldn't cancel. My experience was not the best.

Events and Adventures is a singles group, and I joined to try and meet new people. I was disappointed, though. I went to the new incoming members event and it was just a few people, and there wasn’t anyone near my age group. I’ve been to a few different events and the events themselves are good, but what I’m looking for is something that’s not available. The people in the group are kinda cliquey, so it’s hard to introduce yourself to other people. Events and Adventures is trying to rebrand themselves now, but it’s more of an activities club. People have been in the club for three years, and they're not interested in meeting with people.

I'm single and Events and Adventures seemed like a great alternative to online dating and a great way to meet people, go out and do fun stuff. I average at least 10 events a month and I go to pretty much anything athletic. I go to a lot of eating out at fancy restaurants too, and also checking out museums. It's good for stuff that I haven’t tried before to get me out of my comfort zone, and especially all the weekend ones. I go to at least one per weekend, too. I like the game nights ‘cause it basically turns into a house party. I've also made plenty of friends.

I felt okay arriving to the first event. I don’t have a lot of social anxiety. I meet new people and fit into groups fairly well. Out of the 40 events I've attended, my favorite was my trip to Mexico. It was nice showing up and having things planned out for you, really, being all-inclusive. To have them doing all the legwork is very nice. We’re just doing random days and I didn't have to plan. I can just show up and do it. We’ve done scavenger hunts, a brewery tour and an indoor beach volleyball. It all blends together after a while. It's a lot of fun with great people. It’s a good way to get out and meet new people.

I joined Events and Adventures so that I could be around a younger crowd and have people to do stuff with. The cost to get in the group is very large. It's not something everybody can afford. One thing I’ve noticed is it’s not a lot of young people. It’s a big, older crowd that’s in it. And there have been a few guys in the group that made sexual comments. I’ve already brought up one instance to Maggie and she said that she spoke to the guy about it. Since then, I haven’t had any issues. I've made a lot of friends, and a lot of them are women.
There’s a lot of events. Every day on there, there’s something planned, so I really liked that. There are quite a few items that sometimes are a little pricey. But overall, for the different events, it’s worth it. I felt like you can’t beat some of the events like the New Year’s party, although there wasn’t a lot of places to sit for everyone. That posed a problem for me and my friends on New Year’s but we worked everything out and had a great time. I would suggest that if there’s a lot of people who signed up, make sure people got a place to sit.
Also, the website really needs to be improved because it’s really difficult when I log in and I’m on my mobile device. It needs to be like a mobile app or something created for Events and Adventures, a lot of people have asked for that. Trying to navigate to the calendars and all that stuff, I have to format it every single time to fit my screen in order for me to see what I’m looking for. And a lot of the links are really small so I have to blow it up and I’m hitting the wrong thing. Sometimes, I’m double booking or I’m hitting the wrong thing.

I've always wanted to do certain things like skydiving and water rafting. So, when the Events and Adventures guys said, “We do a lot of events, a lot of adventures,” that’s what got me. However, I feel like there are not a lot of outdoor adventures. There are more things doing downtown. Most of the events, they have to do with going to bars or to clubs. I used to do that a lot but I’m not trying to do bars. What I signed up for was to do outdoor stuff, maybe they could do more stuff like that. I feel like people got into Events and Adventures because of dating. I wasn’t really so much thinking of dating. For me, I couldn’t find people to do certain things I wanna do, so I felt E&A would be like a group of extreme people that wanna do extreme types of things. I did the water rafting, which was amazing. And then, I also did skydiving. The skydiving was pretty cool. It's been a wonderful experience with Events and Adventures. I had a new schedule at work and wasn't working the same as most of my friends, so I was sitting at home alone most nights. So, I heard it on the radio and gave it a shot. My first event was at a bar. There was supposed to be live music. They ended up having to change the last minute because the band never showed up. So, we all hung out for a little bit and then went to another bar. There was a breakfast event last month that I went to and it was a lot of fun. I enjoyed it. I made a lot of friends since going to Events and Adventures. They've been more beneficial than some of my long term friendship. Having surgery, I've had more people checking up on me from Events and Adventures than I have had from before. The membership fees on all the events class are pricey though. On the average, I go to about three events a week. I like hanging out with the people. I've been a member since August, and they let me become a host a little early because I attend so many events, and I already know a ton of people here in the Bay Area because of that. So a lot of people trust me in meeting up with the new members.
As a host, I’m in charge of making sure people find a venue properly, making sure that people are included, and I have to make sure that people are having a good time. If somebody brings a guest and they signed up a guest, I have to take down their signatures for waivers and their driver’s license to make sure that they're of age so they can go with us. I make sure I guide people, like if we’re doing a hike, I would lead the hike. And then if we’re at a restaurant, I take point on leading us when to check in, or not check in, but if the staff has any questions, they always come to me. They don’t have to go to a different person every time.
I hosted a skeet shooting not so long ago and I talked to the staff over there. I decided it would be best that we split into two groups and there would be one guy per group. I take it upon myself to go a little bit extra and I take photos of everybody and I send it to people. We have our Facebook group and I share it on there. And then for the people that don’t believe in Facebook, I contact them individually and email them the little video shots and photos. They're pretty happy with that. It’s kinda like everybody knows me and then I can introduce people to others. So it works. The current group is doing a good job in doing what we’re doing.

Events and Adventures takes a trip to Japan, and one of the things they do is they ride the Super Mario carts in Tokyo. I've always wanted to do that, so that was what hooked me. Before I arrived to my first event I was very excited. I've had a lot fun at the events that I have attended. They have a murder mystery night, which I liked. That was a lot of fun. They had a charity poker night, too, and I won big for the charity, so that was exciting to win and be able to do some good with it. I've also participated in two of the new member meetings, as well as have done volleyball out at one of the areas out in Lakewood.
With my work schedule, however, it is a little difficult now to participate as much as I want to. Events and Adventures has a lot of younger people in it, those in their 20s and 30s. So, that has been a little difficult as I am in my late 50s. There is quite an age gap there. It is very nice to chat with someone with a very young and idealistic energy, but it peters out.
Now that we have gotten into the colder months, there has been less things to do that are enjoyable for anybody of any age as there was in summer. The comedy club is a lot of fun, but during the week, I have work until 8 o'clock and have to be there by 7:00. It is a little difficult for me to be attending events right now. I'm looking forward to being able to attend more events. And once my schedule changes again, I will be able to do more things in the summertime. If they go back to Japan, I'm planning to do that this year. I'm also going to try and do at least one other trips, depending on what happens with my employment.

I was interested in the ability to meet other singles in my area and the variety of activities that would be available. I was out-of-state for five years doing school in Utah, and I wanted to reacquaint myself with the area and hopefully make some friends and meet some cool people. I’m pretty much an introvert myself, but I just went for it. I went to Taco Tuesday. We had like a Star Wars lightsaber lessons class, which was pretty fun. We also did something at the Phoenix Art Museum that I went to that I enjoyed. I enjoyed everything that I went to. I was doing about one event a week at least for my first couple of months, and then it kinda like petered out because I started to get busy in my day-to-day life. Also, they didn’t call me for what I wanted to do, and that slight extra cost was becoming a little more than I wanted to put the extra penny to.
When it starts to get to over 45 minutes to drive somewhere to get to an event, it becomes a little much for me. So when I would look at something that I would be interested in going to and doing, it would always be farther from home than I was expecting it to be. Some of the events were kind of repetitive, and some of it was also farther for a drive when I would get off of work. I looked at the calendar yesterday and there might be a couple that I wanna do. But I’m at least gonna look at it through March because I don’t know if I’m going to renew. It’s just becoming a bit of a financial thing at this point, not necessarily a lack of interest thing.
I met a bunch of really nice, interesting people when I was at places, and I was able to talk to them. I didn’t feel that I was completely on the outskirts at any event. But there wasn’t many people near my age group as I would’ve preferred. A lot of people were much older than I was. I didn’t feel like I was able to make friends in my age group. And then there were the fact that I always felt like there was always an extra cost, even when something says it is free. They should be upfront. The free label is very misleading when it comes to an event because there’s always that extra cost. I’m paying over $100 a month for the program, but I would have to pay over $50 for a really cool event. I’m already paying such a high price, and then I have to pay almost an extra $500 a month on top of what I’m paying monthly to be part of the cost just to participate. I wasn’t financially prepared for that commitment.

I also did a really cool wine night where you pay for your bottle and like your cheese board type thing where they bring you like this porchetta board. That was pretty cool. We’ve done this still Instagram place where you take pictures in front of this 3D art.
There seems to be a lot of alcohol involved in the events. There are some events where it doesn’t have to revolve around alcohol all the time, like we have the game nights, which are pretty cool. I like those because they’re a little bit smaller of a group and you can get to know people better. In some of the larger ones, you’re sectioned off for like trivia nights at restaurants, and you can’t really talk to everybody, or the music is too loud, or you’re not sitting where you can interact with people enough. But I’ve met a ton of people. I’ve loved it. I’ve gone out with at least seven or eight people outside of Events and Adventures. You can bring up to two guests to the event, and I’ve brought three separate people to them. I was able to bring two additional people outside of Events and Adventures during the New Year's party, which was really fun. And they enjoyed themselves, so it was cool.

However, there was such a high fee to get into the club as I was signing up and I was told that the majority of the events would be free save for one or two events that I have to pay for a month. But then, it's almost every event that I have to pay again just to get into. Plus, I'm paying for my food on top of that. That was something I felt was false advertising and it has gotten worse.
There have also been a lot of issues where I would show up for an event and the coordinator didn't let the venue know that they would be having a group, so the venue wasn't able to accommodate us. It turned out that she hadn't been a recent member and had recently terminated. But still, I’m hanging around with a bunch of people that know and adore my ex-wife who had been complaining about me for the last six months in this group. So I was competing with a reputation. A lot of times when I go to an event, I get approached and people have made it very clear that they're her friends and that they're not gonna be mine. That’s my number one issue. It would've been nice to have known that my former spouse was a member right before I went and joined.
Outside of that, I’m just busy at work. I haven't been to an event for a long time. I was told that the events were all over the Metroplex. I live in Fort Worth and although there are events out this way, they're not very many. I also felt like I was misled when it came to how much things were gonna cost outside of the fee and it seems like they are double-dipping. I like their accessibility. If I woke up one morning, didn’t have work and was bored, I got something to do if I go online. Otherwise, I would just be at home miserable. I also like that you don’t always have to preregister for the event. Trips are expensive so I haven't done any, which is sucky because I wanna do some. However, I've been in enough events to make connections with people, be familiar with faces and be recognized at different events by people I can't remember. It has been crazy.

My dental hygienist said that she met and saw some interesting people through Events and Adventures. And since I was new to the area, I thought I should give it a try and see how it goes. I think the membership here is a bit on the older side and most of them are divorced and have kids, and that’s not really my demographics. So, I didn’t really realize that that’s what it was. But as far as the events themselves, the ones that I choose to go to has always been reasonable. They’ve been fun as far as the expense is concerned and I like the idea that I don’t have to plan stuff and that I could just show up.
Events and Adventures costs a little bit more than I would like for it to just because I don’t feel I have enough time for the inclination to do more than one or two events a week, and that’s pushing it. And then on top of that, the ones that I do go to, I still end up usually having to pay regular price for everything. It’d be cool if we got a group discount for being 15, 20 or 30 of us on some cases there. I pay for the monthly fee, and then on top of that, for each event I go to, I almost always have to end up paying for 50 bucks just for myself to do whatever. And that approaches the steep side when you do it two or three times a week. You’re looking at $400 by the end of the month every month. So, that’s a bit expensive, but I didn’t really know what I was expecting.
They do discounted rates for trips. But I’m not looking to doing international trips. I’m looking for more like weekly, monthly type of engagements in my area. It’d be nice to have some stuff that was dealt completely out of Events and Adventures’ pocket or at least give us members like half of our prices for the night or some kind of incentive to keep us permanent.
I regularly go to the volleyball because I’m a big volleyball player. And unfortunately, I haven’t been able to in the past two weeks because I have a league night where I actually play competitive volleyball. And that started to be scheduled on the same night that my area, volleyball and for Events and Adventures was being scheduled. I couldn’t do both. So, I’m gonna go to my more competitive one because the Events and Adventures one is more like people hanging out and drinking as opposed to playing.
I try to do the food one regularly. They have one that's called International Eats. I've gone to that for the past three weeks in a row. Sometimes, you can get out pretty cheap like 15 bucks, but for the most part, it’s like 35-ish to 40-ish in our area because DFW Metro is not really a cheap place. I’ve gone to a couple of the happy hour meet-up, and they went to a pool hall and I did that, too. I’ve gone to dinners and movies as well. I’ve met a couple of new friends. As far as anyone to date, the ones that usually end up going to the event that I go to are older. They’re not really in my dating range, and it's not what I want. So, that’s been kind of disappointing, but they’re all really sweet and they love me, so that’s cool.
I have recommended Events and Adventures to other people through work and some of my other friends that I play volleyball with that are older. I have recommended it to them because they’re on the same boat. But as far as like people my age and younger, I don’t recommend them. Every event that I’ve gone to, there’s maybe two other people that are my age or younger, and the rest of them are 40s and up. I’m not horribly disappointed, but I’m not satisfied.

I joined Events and Adventures to get out of the house. The first event I went to was when we went to a class to learn how to dance salsa. Also, I've been to a poker night, a bingo night, and a comedy show and I went to a restaurant with them one time. When I go is when it's less intimate and I don’t necessarily interact with people. I tend to go when there’s an activity because I get real nervous when I'm around people I don’t know and it makes me less nervous if I feel like the attention isn’t on me.
There was one time where I was gonna go and then I ended up changing my mind at the last minute. And that’s another thing, too. You can't sign up for stuff at the last minute. I get kinda nervous about committing myself. I just get real anxiety when I'm trying to go somewhere. If that could change, that would be awesome. If I were more outgoing and less nervous, then I’d probably go to more events. But I just use this as a stepping stone to kinda get out. I talk to people while I'm there, but I haven't done as far as exchanging numbers. I just see people when I go there and that’s it. I have recommended Events and Adventures to a friend because they were more wanting to go on the trips side of it but they were like "It’s pricey.” It's pricey just to join. But my experience has been alright.

I don’t have much opportunity to meet new people and Events and Adventures seemed like a viable way to do that. It has been going fairly well, but I’m just finding that I’d rather spend more time alone sometimes. A lot of it seems to be stuff that I could’ve done if I wasn’t a loner, like going to bars and stuff like that. I’m not a big drinker and not a big party guy. So I’m not terribly interested in all the events going to bars and drinking. I went to the Book Barge at the July 4th. It’s not a comfortable place for me. Bowling alley sounds great. I prefer more casual stuff, not a bar social-casual. I’ve been going and doing an activity is more of what I’m into rather than trying to socialize without some other intervening activity.
I’m not an outgoing person at all. So, it’s very difficult for me to just reach out and say hi and everything. I’m really stepping out of my comfort zone to get there. From what I’ve seen of the people who are attending, it seems to fit them a lot better. It’s all based on who is wanting to do the activities. I enjoy the board game nights, but my issue with that is there’s a whole lot of different board game types and it’s very hard to get people into the types that I like. They go off and play Cards Against Humanity whereas I’m trying to play something that requires you to do a little bit of Math to try and win.

Right after I joined Events and Adventures, I went to the aquarium in Dallas. Since then, I've been to three events which included one trip to Cancun and going to a studio. The trips have been pretty good. When we were in Cancun, we went to see the ruins and it was fun.

I got divorced and I was looking to meet people and make friends. I signed up with Events and Adventures and I've been to a dozen different events so far. I've done ax throwing, pottery and a couple of social things. I've gone on two trips too. However, the one I went to in New York seemed a little unorganized. The accommodations were but the trip could have been handled better. There were a lot of people to try to stay and walk together. Also, it was weird that tips weren't included in a dinner that was supposed to be covered. I understand drinks, but to tip on a meal that I don't even know much of it was silly. That should be part of what Events and Adventures pay for.
The other trip I went on was out of the country and I liked it. It was different because we were split into small groups. I don't like to travel in a big group that is not broken off into smaller groups as there are too many people to wait on. Even so, I would mention Events and Adventures to people if they are single and looking for stuff to do. Finding someone to date is the wrong reason to get into it. Instead, it's more about building friendships and going to do stuff.

Events and Adventures is wonderful. My daughter had known someone who in the past had been a member and she had mentioned it to me. I’m happy with my experience. I’ve been to five events, and the latest event was a camp out. It's my favorite. I’m going to Renaissance Festival next Saturday. too. I’ve made some nice acquaintances through Events and Adventures because I have been there long.

I haven’t really done anything in the last 10 years except raise my kids. So, I joined Events and Adventures as kind of way to get out and find out who I am. On my first event, I was a little bit nervous and there was an issue. The host quit that day, so I tried to call and talk to her, and she hung up on me. But I called and talked to the guy who was in charge of everything, and he made it 100% better. So, it was amazing. I've been to five events so far and my experience has been pretty good. I’ve gone on a hike and I’ve done a couple of bar things. I also did a comedy event. At this point, I’m still trying everything out. But I met somebody on a hike, so I’m leaning towards that one as my favorite, though I don’t like hiking. But I have a couple events planned and I’m trying to figure out which trip I wanna do because I can only really do one.

I didn't have a lot of friends to see and having different activities planned that I could go and do interested me. When I went to one of the new member things, I felt welcomed. The person who had signed me up had been there and he helped to introduce me to some people. I struggle with social anxiety but it has gotten easier to go to events because I'm starting to know people there. I've been talking to some people and while meeting significant others is not my number one priority, it has happened.
I went to the Halloween party and I also did the Lakeside, which was an amusement park thing. I live about an hour away from Denver, so I tend to make a trip out of it. Event costs are reasonable. A lot of the events are either free or costs $5 to $10. Some are a little pricey, but if I did it on my own, it'd be even more. However, the overall membership is a bit pricey and it would be nicer if it was less expensive. But it is also something that's getting me to go out. With my social anxiety, sometimes it is hard to motivate me to get out. I think, "I paid for this. I gotta go do it. I'm not letting this money go down the drain."

I just moved recently to the area up here, and I'm just tired of sitting around, staring at walls. I wanted something to do and to meet new people. I went with Events and Adventures and found after my first event that it's a really good group of people. I work weird schedules so I don't get to participate in a lot of the events. I go to those on weekends because they do those earlier in the day. The ones I enjoy involve just sitting down and hanging out in a restaurant or a bar. The participants and I just walk and have a good time. I've also done a blacksmithing class through them. So far, I've made a lot of new friends.
There have been several people I've met over time who have only done one event since I've known them. When I talk to them, they don't participate. If people sign up with Events and Adventures they should be active and participate on a regular basis. Otherwise, I don't think it will be worth their while. The biggest issue for a lot of people joining is the cost. I've paid two grand for two years for the membership. People who join would also have to pay for individual events.
