I moved back into the Phoenix area and was hoping to look for new avenues to make new friends. I figured I'd give Events and Adventures a try. Everything is pretty clear when you first sign up. They're really good at explaining everything and you know what you're gonna get going into it. But I wasn't thrilled initially because of the way that you'd have your first interview and call to get to know and see if you can fit in then talk about the cost that goes into it. In order to get the deal, you have to commit right then and there instead of being able to have a chance to think it over a little bit, given that it's a pretty decent financial commitment that you're making. I wish that they gave you more time to think about it while still getting the same deal.
Other than that, I enjoyed going to the events. The events and the hosts have been great. I felt pretty good and a little nervous going into my first event. I've been to a handful of events. I really like all the food events, going to try new restaurants or food festivals, the farmers' market type ones that get you out and about. I'm doing my first hike tomorrow so I'm excited about that. I haven't tried some of the ones that have a little extra cost 'cause I'm not quite in the place for that yet. But I'm excited to try those once I'm in a better place.

I'm a very busy person and I don't get out much at all. I wanted to force myself to do that. After I thought about getting out there, Events and Adventures popped up on my feed and I saw that as a sign. I signed up with the. I needed to get out and try to be serious about meeting someone. I purposely paid for it upfront because if I didn't, I probably wouldn't keep going. The pricing wasn't bad and I paid $2,300 for two years. I asked Events and Adventures about the age group and there were a few in my age group, but it's not enough. Other than that, everything seems to be okay.
I joined back in October and I've been to three events. I went to the bowling, the billiards where we shoot pool, and the movie night on a rooftop. Those events were cool and I liked the movie night. I met some cool people and I was getting along with the guys, which is good. It's not even always about meeting women. It was good networking for me.

I'm 50 and all my friends are married or they have significant others. I'm single and I wanted to meet some other people that were single. I was listening to an audiobook and the author mentioned Events and Adventures. I looked into it and then I had my interview. I thought it was something that I would really like. I've been on some outings and I've been on some online stuff. I've had a great time each time.
I went to the New Year's Eve party in Davie and I went to brunch in Boca. Those were a lot of fun. We did a live concert and we went to the South Florida fair. My very first outing was my favorite. I had a lot of fun and the people that I met there are awesome. I don't really like the Zoom events that much. They were not really organized enough. But the last one we had was a lot of fun. We did a murder mystery. But Events and Adventures needs to work on teaching the hosts a little bit more of the computer. One other thing is a lot of events are in South, South Florida. There are not so many close to the West Palm Beach area, which I'm from. For people like me who work every day of the week, it's hard to drive an hour to do something on a weeknight.
I like this club because it's not a group of people trying to hit on each other or pick up each other. You meet people that are like you and that you wouldn't even realize. I met a handful of females the first time and they all range in age but we had so much in common. You meet other people that like to do stuff that you like to do. It's a group of friends doing stuff together. If that's what you're looking for, this is the group that you would want to join.

The experience with Events and Adventures has been good. Everyone joins for different reasons and I joined to try to meet someone because I was on all the dating apps. So far, there hasn't been anyone in the group that I would be interested in. There's a big age range. I'm 36 and there are some 50s and 60s. But I did a trivia night last night and it was fun. It's nice to be able to have a group to meet and do that with instead of me texting my friends asking if anyone wants to go to something I heard about. So, it has been awesome that there's always something to do. I love hockey and there was a Panthers event. I like the bowling nights, which is the most popular and the most highly attended.
If people are joining to try to find someone to date, depending on what age they are, they should not spend the money on it. But in terms of always having something to do, Events and Adventures is great for that. There's all this travel that they have available though when I looked into all of it, they were already full and a lot of them are during times I wouldn't be able to take. I'm a teacher and it doesn't line up with my break that we already have. Yesterday, a lot of the girls were talking about going to Peru on a hiking trip and they were all excited. It is so great how you can go to the calendar and you can sign up for all of these different fun things and you can see things that you would have maybe never come across yourself to do. The reps do a good job of trying to plan different things and give some variety.

I love Events and Adventures. I went to one of the karaoke nights and I've gone to the bowling twice but I mostly do the athletic events. I like their versatility and that we can go during the week or on the weekend. There are so many different things to try out and that I get to try things that I might not otherwise be able to do. I was a little nervous on my first event but everyone was super welcoming and nice. When we travelled, the house we had was the biggest Airbnb-type houses I had ever been to. It was a great experience and I was super happy with it. I recommend joining to a lot of people.
There’s a new manager in our area in the South Florida club and she's nice and working her way in, but some of the choices for events she's made are a little weird. I'm excited to go to the dance class on Monday but it's a little weird that they scheduled the salsa dance class on Valentine's Day. I'm not a fan of that. And in general, the athletic events have gotten a lot less.

Events and Adventures is really a hit and miss. It seems somewhat always a little disorganized. Sometimes, I've gone to events and they didn't even know we were going to show up and that was kind of funky. Initially, when I signed up, it was more like, "If you're wanting companionship, this is a good way to get out there," and I would still agree with that. It's just that some of the events are super, duper unbalanced. I wanted to meet people, but at the same time, I wanted to meet guys. I found that I was basically around a lot of women and a couple of couples, but rarely any guys.
I get the fact that they're very used to how this whole thing works. But when I attended the new members' meeting, it was just a rundown of all the rules and at one point they were like, "This is what it is and you just have to deal with it." So, when it was presented, I couldn't wait to leave because it was super negative and a little discouraging at the same time because one of the biggest issues I have at times is arriving. With traffic in Phoenix, it's hard to get to places on time. I was an executive chef so I've created plenty of venues and always have to establish parking. Normally, if I'm bringing a group of 15 to 20, I can talk to the establishment to make sure that there's parking available or where they might be able to park instead of it just being very generalized. Maybe that's my pet peeve because I used to do a lot of events, but in that sense, Events and Adventures could be better. Although, the events are neat, some that I enjoyed a lot.
Then, there were some where the restaurants were crappy. But that was not their fault. Just in general, some of them get passed on to different hosts, and some of these hosts are very outgoing. There was one guy named Devin that made me feel comfortable and able to talk. He was really open and he would introduce me to people. Some of the other hosts were hanging out with their own people, so it was hard to jump into a conversation, especially when everybody knew each other. Some were very cliquey and that was a little uncomfortable for me because I would just deal with what was going on, and as soon as I could, I would just leave. I wish it was more balanced. But other than that, it's cool. I've made some friends.

I went to a cooking class and I got lost because the explanation was not too clear. Even though the chef said that he had told them to put on Events and Adventures how to get there because a lot of people got lost. But I was pleased because the food was really good. I travel a lot and I love different cooking. So, I heard good reviews about that chef that was doing the cooking class, so that was why I registered for it. It was a really fun class because the chef himself is a very funny guy. I liked him a lot.

With Events and Adventures, there's a lot of nice people of all different shape, size, and color. I first went to a crawfish boil event and it was awkward when I walked in as I didn't know anybody. But I immediately hooked up with a brand-new member that it was her first event too so we wing manned it and then the other members started coming over and talking to us. We both snuck in on the down-low because we didn't know what to think. We were scoping it out. Then recently, we got a limo and we rode around Houston looking at Christmas lights. I've met a bunch of new friends and awesome people that I wouldn't normally meet in Events and Adventures. We joke around online all the time when we're not at an event. I fit in right away and I wouldn't trade it for anything. It's a great value for what you're paying for. Everybody's in the same boat you are and you just go out and have a good time and don't worry about anything.

The host of my first event, which was a dinner was very nice. But when people get together and have to pay, it's very frustrating. Other than that, the cooking class in November was my favorite. I've also been to a comedy event and a walk. Events and Adventures has an interesting mix of people who participate. I've enjoyed making friendships. I've definitely made connections with people in the sense that I see them at regular events.

On my first four months with Events and Adventures, I was going to six events a week. Every month, they have the All Night thing and I've done several of the Heights. I've also done two kayaking trips, archery, airsoft, and beach volleyball which I did every week until it got to where the sun was going down too soon. I attended Taco Tuesday and Food Truck Friday, too. Then, I went to Halloween party where everybody was dressed up. That was fun and there was a lot of people there. I joined Events and adventures because I was looking for a network of friends and pretty much, all of my friends up until this point are E and A members. We hang out outside of E and A and I've been on a couple of dates as well. I haven't found anything that I would cement down but the opportunities are there.

I got the chance to interact with other people and go out and do different events with this club. The Halloween party, the bar crawl that we did during Christmas, and salsa dancing were the fun events that I went to. I also did dinners, bowling, karaoke, and Dave & Buster’s, which had food that was better, but the games were more for younger kids. My next event is international dining and we're going through a Portuguese food. Overall, Events and Adventures is very well-organized. I like the fact that there are so many things to do. I just pick where I'd have fun doing it and just go.

Events and Adventures has been a very good experience so far. I've liked it. I've done four virtual events and a couple of in-person ones. I like the ones where there's something to learn, like the archery or paint classes. Overall, the cost is good. But I haven't been able to take advantage of E & A as much as I want to. Other than that, it's nice to have things planned for me and there's something to look forward to.

I was in a social group and somebody said that they were going to Events and Adventures. I googled it and found out about it. Then, I called for more information and signed up. My first event was a dinner and I was pretty excited to go to meet new people. It was a tough night to get there because it was raining which doubled the commute to get to the restaurant. So far, I've attended four events and my favorite is the trivia night. There was a lot of people there and we had a section of the room that was all us. It was nice to be able to compete against your peers, meet new people at your table, and connect intellectually.
In some of the events, like the dinner thing that I went to, only two people showed up and it was disappointing. But the rain made it hard to get into downtown for most. Then, some of the events are short, meaning as soon as the dinner was over, everyone scattered, which was also disappointing because after a little bit more than two hours, if it took you two hours to get there, you'd want to hang out a little bit longer than the two hours that took you to eat dinner. The Halloween party could have been nicer, too. It was mixed with another group that were not singles, so it put a different flair on it, which was understandable. But that was my least favorite event. Other than that, I have made a few new friends, not a significant other, through Events and Adventures. There seems to be a higher female to male ratio, which is okay. It might pull in more men knowing that. I also wish that there were a few more that were in my age range, but it's good enough.

Lately, I don't really like Events and Adventures. I go to hikings and to meet at a bar because my purpose in that is to find relatively similar aged people and a relationship type of person. But based on the persons I met in a few events, they are not my age. They are 10 years older so I didn't see my purpose achieved in E & A. Other than that, the quality of the events feels great. It's to speak English to people and make me more practiced. The variety of events is pretty good. If we can have a more flexible contract in the future, like monthly pay like a gym, that would be great. ‘Cause I'm right now feeling like canceling the contract but I missed the time. I don't want to keep paying this.

I have made a couple of friends. On the go, I would recommend Events and Adventures to anybody. But for the amount of money that the organization asks for, they should have an app. The fact that we have to go into a web HTML browser on our phone in order to look at the events calendar is pretty crazy in 2021. I went to an Argentina trip and the rep did the best job he could. But he lacked technological skills even though he's very good at herding everybody together. There were a lot of things that I felt that if Events and Adventures has been doing these trips for years, some of the things should have been ironed out - like we shouldn't leave somebody behind. The bus pulled away and somebody was still left at the spot. There should be a system of counting people. That shouldn't be an innovative thought or process.
Also, Eric, the person they do trips through, was more there to enjoy the vacation and not really to guide or help us. If we had a free day, he would think of ideas we could do. Sometimes he would take people but he really seemed like he was just interested in participating in the trip.

I joined in May and I've done at least 20 activities. Most o them have been hiking, biking, jumping out of a plane and indoor skydiving. My favorite was the hiking event. I've made a significant connection with one of the hosts. We align in so many areas and I was able to accomplish that more important long term goal of finding a life mate. It's unfolding in a beautiful way.
There are more opportunities like trips out of country. I'm eyeballing some of those trips like Machu Picchu. My 18 months will be up in less than a year so I'm hoping to get an offer for a lifetime membership. Also, the price is a little steep. I recommend Events and Adventures all the time to other people who might be looking for something similar, something more meaningful or just to get out there. Go for it.

I've done quite a few events and I've gone on an Orlando trip which I enjoyed. I also did St. Patty's day in Miami and they had a little bike pedaling activity where people go around and drink. I prefer sporting activities, mini-golf, basketball games, football games, and hockey games. There have been a few of those with members of the group who have season tickets and they invite me. I've done more hockey games this year than I've done in my whole life.
The only thing is that most events are in Miami or Fort Lauderdale. Prior to me moving up to where I am, I was living in Coral Springs, so I was halfway to anything, so I attend more events. Now that I'm living further up north, it's tougher to get to those. A couple more events other than riding a bicycle in the Palm Beach county area would be great. There's plenty of stuff to do up here too.

Last Friday, I did my first in-person event. I was very excited because the event was something I was very much looking forward to. I was also excited to meet new people. It was the ballet and I hadn't been to one in years. I loved it. I went early to meet up with everyone at the restaurant that they were meeting at before the ballet. Some of the people were pretty friendly but some were not. So that was disappointing. The guy who arrived first straight up told me that he's a lifer in Events and Adventures and he's not looking for a relationship. So that seemed odd because the big reason I joined is to meet other single people who were looking for a relationship doing fun events. It was disappointing that Events and Adventures would include people who really are clear that they're not looking for a relationship.
I did a virtual event the next night and played a game online, which I enjoyed doing very much. There was someone on the Zoom call who we never saw his face and his name. He just showed up as the name of his phone. The event host is great about having everyone introduce themselves when we first got on. But I don't think that person ever spoke. Then sometime over the course of the evening, that person never participated but he direct messaged me in the Zoom call. I received weird message in all lowercase letters that was just a run-on sentence, telling me his name and then giving me his phone number and saying to text him. But I did not do that and I told the host about it. The host kicked him out. Apparently, he tried to get back in and the host would not let him. I asked the host to report him and he said he’d take care of it. So it was creepy and that's one of the things I was trying to get away from with the online and app dating.
At this point, my experience has not been good. I’m pretty dissatisfied. I'm not ready to call it quits but it has occurred to me to even look into their refund policy. This service is a lot of money. There's a lot of drinking that happens at these events, especially the ones in the evening. But I'm not a night person. So if a friend who drank and went out to things at night, Events and Adventures is a good fit. But with someone more like me, it's not a good fit.
My local host put out on to the Facebook group, which I'm a member of and I do look at, and she asks us what kind of events we want to see in January, which was perfect that she asked us for our input. But the schedule isn't out yet so I haven't seen if there's anything I can really do. I work on Saturdays and there was an event last Saturday that I initially signed up for. I scheduled myself to leave work early. But then I wound up having to cancel it because I couldn't leave work early. That disappointed me and I wish that there were more events during the day on Sundays. But I get it. Most of them work on Mondays.

They used to have a more active Tacoma branch when I joined our area, but that seemed to have gone away. Now there's Seattle only. They don't really have much going on down. Everything seems to be on the east side. They wanted $45 a month, which seemed odd if I'm not even doing stuff every month.

Everyone was nice. I went in with an open mind but the whole purpose of going is to meet someone and I don't see the quality of men that are in the group that I would date. But I have met some nice women. Events and Adventures should have better organization and marketing and get more members because it seems to be skimpy. They could also have larger events that would enable people to meet more people instead of these smaller 20 group things where it's pretty limiting. From what I've experienced, most of the time, the events are not full. So it's less people.

I became recently single and I wanted to meet people by doing something instead of going to a bar, so I joined Events and Adventures. The person who interviewed me and told me how it works said that the events would be fun and that if I was not feeling comfortable, I could reach out to my host. Unfortunately, the host was probably the shyest person at the first event I went to. It was not a great first impression as far as how it was run. This was a dinner in Capitol Hill, Seattle. When I arrived, everybody at the table was silently looking at me. I had to say, "Is this Events and Adventures?" "Yeah." And we just sat there awkwardly. Being a hairdresser and having a big personality, I started asking icebreaker questions.
I talked to the event manager in my area and gave her feedback on the host that I had at my first event. He's a very sweet guy but he doesn't have the personality to be a host to make people feel welcomed. Hosting is hard. With all my feedback I was asked about being a host and I declined. I'm a business owner and I'm a mother of two. I had four hosts so far and the three women were all fantastic. That poor guy that was so shy said he didn't want to be a host, but they asked him. We went on a hike and I actually got to talk to him more.
On my sixth event, I met this wonderful man and we've been dating. We're like a poster couple for Events and Adventures. It was his first event when we met. We started dating on his third event and my sixth event. We have a two-year membership. We're going to go to a karaoke event the week between Christmas and New Year's. We went to one event last month and we're going to one event this month. He's got a couple of single friends that were wondering about Events and Adventures and I suggested to have each of them be our date so they can see what it's like.
I like that there's variety with Events and Adventures and that the activities are all over the state. That's really accessible and cool and I was excited about that. The one comment I have that is common with people that have signed up with this program is the event calendar comes out on the 15th of the month and if you sign up after the 15th, you're really blocked out of your first month. You can't get to a lot of events that you want to because the calendar has been out for over two weeks. That's the one disappointing thing and leaves a bad impression. You're waiting to go to your first event for a couple of weeks so it would be good to curb that expectation like, "Hey, you're going to be locked out." Maybe they can have the membership start on a different day too.

Events and Adventures can improve a little bit. With some of the coordinators, there's a lack of organization sometimes. In the beginning, I was not really happy I showed up. I was about 10 minutes late, and nobody was there to greet me. I couldn't find anyone and when I did, there were only three people there. Some of the events, there are few people that show up. But they do a good job of trying to put something together and I like aspects of E&A. I've met some people and enjoyed it. I wouldn't mind paying a little more if the events were a little nicer. I've been to some of the eating affairs and the food is okay. It’s not outrageous but in terms of cost and quality of what you receive, it's very good.
Also, a lot of the same people get together all the time. I think it's not so much a clique as much as just getting used to the people that are there, and them getting used to you. I met a young lady who I'm kind of dating. Most of the people who have turned up are simple folk. I'm a bit older, and I've been around, and have a little money, and I'm a little more sophisticated in some ways. But it's enjoyable and I got what I signed up for.
Events and Adventures has tried to put together a list of fun things to do. If you're like me, and you're single, and you want to do something on a Friday night but you don't want to go hang out in a bar by yourself, they usually have something going on, like a little dinner or something. Last time, we went on this hot tub boat and that was a bust. I got on too late, and so I didn't really get to ride with anyone. But then we went to the after-party and the woman I was kinda seeing was there and we had fun.

When I called the host, he said they were on the corner and that he was wearing a random color shirt. Almost everyone in the place was wearing the same thing. I definitely couldn't find anyone like that. I told the host that I was a new member and I couldn't find him. He seemed preoccupied with other stuff. For a moment, I thought about leaving.
But I got to each table that was in there until I found my group. We had very good members or members that I really clicked with. I felt very comfortable with them and it was nice. It was fun and it was a really good night. We went to Wall Off in Fort Lauderdale. This place has a big stuff to jump in like little kids and we played dodgeball. On average, I go to events thrice a month. I've been to around 40 events so far. My favorite was when we went to a water park. We were playing there and jumping into an obstacle course. I had a lot of fun on that one. Today, I'm going to go to the Ninja Warrior event.
I didn't do that much research before I joined A and E. But when I talked to the interviewer and information was provided to me, it was a little bit deceitful. The social demographics of the group are not what they told me that it was going to be. The cost that they are charging for each event on top of the membership is quite high for the events. Going back to the same venues and asking for prices, I find that the price is sometimes even lower or at the same rate that it was given to me by E and A. I am paying for a membership fee and E and A is getting a group discount so I don't get why on top of the membership, I still have to pay so much for each event.
That is a little bit dissatisfying. When I get to the event, the combination of people is weird. There are a lot of awkward people. There was even one event that was a really bad experience. I keep my host and the people informed of what I feel. But in this period of being politically correct or in the spirit of trying to keep everyone happy, they tried to tell me everything was going to be all right and that they were going to have a meeting about it. But I never hear about it again.

I've been single for a while and Events and Adventures seemed like a good opportunity to go out and meet some people. E&A encouraged me to do that and I met some people there. E&A's calendar of events is full and they offer all kinds of great events and adventures. I need something to get me out of the house. Recently, I went to Wings Over Washington which is like an amusement park ride. That was pretty cool.

I enjoy Events and Adventures’ program. It seems to be very well-run and all of the events I've gone to have been good. The person coordinating them has been on the ball. They were there early and checking people in. We went to one the other night where someone hurt her hand. It was minor but just seeing that whole process of how that's handled and recorded was good.
I wanted to get out and about, and I don't like doing online dating. Doing Events and Adventures is more of a, "Let's get out and do things." Also, the events that I've been to, which I was really glad to find, didn't have that pickup vibe. It was more like, “Hey, this is just a group of friends,” which I really appreciated. People are not scoping out other people. One challenge that I find is that the events fill up really fast. So, a lot of them, if you're not on right on the day that they open, then they're already full. You put your name on a waiting list, so you don't really know if you're going and sometimes, you don't know until the very last minute, which I get. Talking to some other new people, that was the only feedback that they had as well. They signed up and then they went in and everything was full. I'd tell others to go for Events and Adventures.

When I was originally getting into Events and Adventures, what I was told was the age group of the people was more of my age group, which is late 30s but then I'm finding out it’s like 40s, 50s, 60s. They said, “Oh. yeah. We have lots of single women.” They're all like 40, 50, 60. I’m like, “That’s out of my age range. I'm sorry.” The other thing that seems to be something of an issue is that I'm more towards the very south of the range. I'm in the South San Jose, Los Gatos, Santa Cruz area. A lot of the nice stuff is up in the peninsula, which I get because the buildings and all that stuff are out there. That's an hour drive for me, though, and then it's in rush hour traffic right after work. I can't get to some of these stuff.
It was kind of fun when I was starting out. I was transferring jobs so I had a month of vacation, which is kind of cool. But now, I’m at work and I can't go up the peninsula for something that's six o'clock from South San Jose. The amount of events and adventures are fine. It's just I was expecting a little bit more in some cases.

I met with a lady for an extended amount of time and decided that I wanted to do it. What stood out was being able to be around other singles. Being able to go to different events with other people is important to me and Events and Adventures could have different events for different age groups. They have lot of volleyball events but I like going out to breweries and clubs more. Also, they do a lot of things in Conroe which is 20, 30 miles away from me so that's kind of a tough. Looking at where everybody's at and having more than one event a month down here near Sugar Land would be good. But I'm getting what I wanted, and that's to be around other singles. I went horseback riding, which was the first one that I'd gone to and that was a lot of fun. I enjoyed it. The next one was supposed to have been today but they didn't have enough people that sign up for it, so I wasn't able to do that one.
I would love it though if there was a way where we can chat and try to meet other people because I don't know if there are people in my area or around my age group. There's no way you can communicate with other members unless you exchange information. When you're going to some of these events, sometimes, you don't have that opportunity to feel comfortable enough with someone to exchange that information.

When I tried to get out of the membership of E&A, they said, "No. We can put you on hold, but you can't get out." Now, I'm paying $137 a month and I'm doing one event a month. I've missed several where I haven't done any. They have a lot of virtual events, but I'm not interested in virtual. I enjoy the in-person ones when it's certain hosts. Other times, I don't enjoy it at all. I'd like to see more diversity in the in-person events and I'd like to see a little more flexibility on the contract. I moved up to the Bay Area almost four years ago and through different things and situations, I've found myself without friends here doing stuff. I figured it would be best to make memories with people that are in the same boat as I am. So, I looked Events and Adventures up, gave them a call, had the interview, and I found that what they have to offer is what I needed at the time.
The day that I had my interview was the same day I was at my first event. It was three hours later. The person I interviewed with, Teresa, was amazing to get me on with that event. She just signed me up for it right away, and it was kickball. When I got there, I was excited because I loved their process of doing background checks on people. I went there with my wall down, so I was excited. I met a lot of new people in my first event and it hasn't stopped since. I went the next night to another event. I'm going to a lot of events every month. I like the activities where we're active. We go to archery. We play pool and kickball. I do like some of the dining events that we have.
We went to this place called the Emporium in San Francisco about two and a half months ago. Being that we're still in the middle of a pandemic, I found that the place was not wiping down the gaming machines and half the games were broken. They weren't even functioning. So, I asked Events and Adventures, “Do you guys ever research your places before scheduling them?” They said, “Yeah, but it was done before the pandemic,” which is not healthy. I'm hoping that my feedback and my questions has started them to double-check locations if they were prior to the pandemic. I was really not comfortable where we were.
Other than that, most events have been okay. I just find that they are doing the same events every month. There's a lot of repeat events as opposed to new and fresh idea events. I found that because of 2020 and everything shutting down, a lot of the international travel is rolled over. So, anyone who had signed up had already rolled over into this year. Then some of the activities that they have hasn't been my cup of tea as far as I can't go whitewater rafting. I have limitations physically. So, if they did a Vegas trip where there was nothing but good food and shows and gambling, I'm down with it. I appreciate that they have more outdoor activities included in the packages that they have. But I'm still looking every time that there is something new for travel that I could do. I would definitely sign up because one of the biggest selling points for me was the travel.

If I cancel for an event and I've already paid, I want Events and Adventures to be clear whether it's refundable or not. That's the only thing I felt like has been a little vague at times. At first, you're worried, frightened and nervous. Then you get out, start talking with people and you get used to it. It's a little different being exposed in a group of people and never being exposed. Some people are used to having all their business out in the open and the people are great. But it's a different style, which I'm getting used to. Usually, I date somebody and then, it's over and you never meet them again. Events and Adventures is teaching you a different approach to dating as well as far as not being enemies or friends. You stay a friend but it's different. I've not done it this way ever but it's been fun and amazing, and I've had nothing but great experiences since then. Other than that, I'm growing and learning.
When there are events that are going on way over in Littleton and it's full, I would volunteer one or two days a week to do it near my part of town. When they're doing whirly ball on a Wednesday and it's packed, and that's a 45-minute drive for me, I wish I would have had a volleyball game on this side of town, where there may be more people. So far, I've had one massive event at my house and that was not through the Events and Adventures. It was after I've gotten to know these people and I invited them over. I would recommend making it more accessible to more groups and exploring it through others. Halfway through the month, I want to do something and there are no openings. And even on the openings, people don't call.
I did E&A in Minneapolis as well as here in Denver and in Minneapolis, even though there was no room, they made room. Because of all the new people coming in and all the other scenarios popping up as far as full house, it should be more accessible to everybody. I would ask to be asked. They could say they’ve got three events today and they're all full, but maybe they can throw another one in there and I can do it a Tuesday. It's almost like asking somebody to be a host on a certain day a week, even just one or two. I've heard some of the perks of it but I haven't been offered it or asked it. Some days, I would like to be doing things and it's packed.

But after that, you get to know a couple of people, and I was meeting up with friends. I went camping for three days and you truly get to know a bunch of other people. It's hard to be superficial over a couple of nights of hanging out, so that's my favorite.

I was a little nervous at my first event but everyone was friendly and we were all there to meet people and mingle. So that nervousness went away quickly once I realized everybody was there to hang out and have a good time. There were no expectations or judgments since everybody was on the same page. Nobody was turned off by each other. There was a blacksmithing event, snowmobiling and hanging out on a boat. I like the parties such as the Fourth of July party or the Valentine's Day party. The Halloween party is supposed to be good but I haven't done it yet. Those are chill because I can hang out and talk to a wide variety of people.
I'm signed up to become a host but I haven't done any so I'm hoping to pitch some ideas soon. There's an indoor go-karting place in Tukwila that would be fun to do and the laser tag is also in Tukwila that would be cool to do as a group. I did zip-lining with some people I met through E&A outside of E&A and that would make a good E&A event as well. Events and Adventures is a great way to get over shyness, meet people naturally and not have the expectations or anxieties lingering over you if you approach someone you don't know, how they're gonna respond. Anyone and everyone could have a good time in E&A.

The whole concept of what Events and Adventures was exciting. When you're single and have nothing to do, it's a good way to go out and have fun. In my area, there's a handful of events, but I haven't been to one yet. Aside from that, $2,000 for this program is a lot of money for someone to dish out. In my initial conversation, there was no talk about how much it cost. It was more on selling the program until I got excited about it, then I got hit with the price. So, it needs to be a little bit less sales and a little bit more understanding of everything.
But more than that was the commitment that they wanted and the contracts we had to sign, which I did, which put me off a little bit. And they don't have an app for your phone, which is a big downfall because I don't always get on my computer email. So with an app, it would be a lot easier to pull up your phone and see what's going on. But hopefully, soon, I'll be taking advantage of some of the stuff that they have.

When I was talking to the person from Events and Adventures, it seemed like there will be a lot of free events, but there are not. Most of them cost more money. So, I'm curious on the reason why I'm paying a monthly fee for events that are costing the same amounts when I did them myself. I haven't gone to one event because nothing at all caught my eye worthwhile of going to. A lot of stuff is online, which defeats the entire purpose of it and anything that is in person generally cost more money. Their Zoom things would be a waste of my time.
Overall, the concept sounds good but it could be a lot better. The events that you go to should not cost extra money because you're paying a monthly fee. There's no point paying that much extra for just a meet-up with people. I tried looking up how to cancel the service, and there is no link to a cancellation. Even if there's a fee, there's no link to be able to show you how to get out of the contract that you're in. I've searched high and low on the website. The website, also, is really cumbersome to get through to figure out where the calendar is. It feels very 1990s, and we're in 2020. There's a person that's in charge of the regional area, and there's the person that's overall seeing everything. I haven't tried contacting them yet. I didn't wanna have to talk to a person. I regret buying 2 years and I'm only a few months in. I've been to many events now. I'm pretty social and outgoing already and do a lot of the events they plan on my own with more control over the situation and people (and dogs which aren't allowed with the 11 person E&A groups) that join me. Expect spending 11 hours in a day for a 7 mile hike as a result of waiting for everyone to show, going slow, and then having to make giant group decisions to build consensus on next steps. This is like a social timeshare you can't get out. They rely on paying members for suggestions of activities to plan which begs the question what are we paying for? Certainly not the events, because you'll pay for those individually too.
You are better off with meetups. Limited availability on the interesting events. I mean no paying members of the events offense as I understand how hard it is to build community, but if you get the sense that this is not really the community you want to invest your time with, too bad, E&A got your money already. Never ever let them talk you into the 2 year contract. They keep everything a secret with no trial because they want you to think it is magical and special inside. It is not, it is a little more lame than if you just did fun events for yourself.

With Events and Adventures, I was most interested in having multiple meetups throughout a week. Sometimes, it's hard once you've become an adult to meet up with people and families, and lives change. It’s nice that it was all put together, and all I had to do was show up. I've done a dozen events now, including a few karaoke events at different restaurants. That was cool. I'm not a karaoke person, but I'm friendly, so I went out. We had a back space area of the restaurant where everybody was told to meet up by the hostess. It was a mix-and-mingle type session. I've also done a few different restaurant meetups in general. We did one at an aquarium, and we just had a bracelet-making class. I'm scheduled to go to Africa in three weeks with them. It went fast.
I have made quite a few friends. What’s funny is I met three people during my first event and it has been a nonstop roller coaster of fun with them, between us going to concerts outside of the club and different things going on where we try to meet up. I’ve yet to meet a significant other through the club though. That's where it's lacking. Apart from that, everybody in the group has been friendly. I've talked to a few different people about it, and we definitely think that the interviewing process that one has to do ahead of time helps with that. Normally when you hear about these things, you tend to think, “Great, it's gonna be filled with a bunch of weird people, and that's why they go to these things ‘cause they can't really make friends." That has not been the experience, but you get what you put into it.

When I first did the interview, they said there will be a painting class, but I haven't seen any. I haven't had any choice to do a cooking or painting class, so I had to choose stuff, but it was better than I thought. My first event was online and the second one was a flag football game near my home. It was a weekday and not enough people showed up, so we couldn't do the game. We just did ball catching and I talked to people. I was a bit nervous, but it was a good time. They were very nice.
I recommend Events and Adventures to my friends. When I talk about it, “Oh, I get to go somewhere I've never been, and it's so nice. And then you get to meet people, not only as a man and a woman, but you get to make friends, just friends friend.” They wanna do it, but they always ask me, “Do you have to pay for it?” “Yes, you have to pay for it.” I told them I have to make the down payment, plus the monthly payment, and that’s a downside for them. From the very beginning, I thought that the event was poorly planned, because it was in Seattle on Capitol Hill where parking was extremely difficult to find. So, I had to pay 15 bucks for parking. But that’s okay. I went in. And I was a couple of minutes late, but no big deal. Everybody was getting started. However, the candles wouldn't even be ready for us to take home with us that night. We were there after it was closed as a special event. And they didn't even have it planned out in any way to accommodate us taking our candles. I live in Kent, and that's 45 minutes. I would have had to come back for my candle days later, even though we paid 50 something bucks. So, what ended up happening was the manager realized the situation and stayed late to get all of our candles ready. So, we went and ate and then came back for our candles later. I thought, “What kind of amateur planning is this? What am I paying for? This is ridiculous.”
The second event I went to was in Tacoma, and they didn't even have a meal available. I realize, with COVID and stuff like that going on, that we have to make certain allowances, but I paid $2,400 for a year with Events and Adventures to get something better than the kind of amateur planning that happened. So, we had to move that venue to another place.
And the driving is insane. Part of what really gets me about them is that they call it Seattle, but the events are everywhere from even south of Tacoma to north, to Everett. That's not Seattle. Everett is Everett. It’s its own major metropolitan area an hour away from Seattle and even worse in traffic. So, to call Everett Seattle is disingenuous. Imagine if you live in north of Tacoma and there's rush hour traffic off South Tacoma. Interstate 5 is a crawl. We got some of the worst traffic in the country. They scheduled this thing in South Tacoma, and it takes me 90 minutes to get there just to be disappointed for the lameness of the event.
Because of the way that they schedule their events geographically, it's impossible to enjoy it. You're fighting traffic. If the club is in Seattle, it should be in Seattle, because that's where the majority of people live. But they schedule it either in the worst neighborhoods in Seattle that require tons of parking or not even near it. Also, they say there are so many events, but not really. There’s none. It's so overpriced and oversold and everything that I can't even believe that they got my money. I’m incredulous. No one in the club is even dateable.
I wanted to let Events and Adventures to know that they got other disgruntled people in here, they are doing a terrible job, and they oversold this thing. But they kicked me out before I could even do that. They sent me back a thing in the terms and conditions that constituted that as a threat and said that I'm not allowed anywhere around Events and Adventures. I'm not getting a refund. I’m blacklisted. And that's that. I've been telling everybody that I know that I feel were ripped off and that Events and Adventures is a total rip-off and they don't care. They're running a messed-up organization. They’re greedy and they burn through contracts. I'm not done with them.

What interested me was that Events and Adventures is more exclusive than a dating website. The onboarding was a little longer than I would have preferred. But I appreciate the group. As soon as I got to my first even, I was greeted very warmly. I was in the same boat as many other people. And the host was very nice. We signed in. Everyone was very social. I felt very comfortable after that.
We went to Trivia at this little craft beer place in Arlington Heights, which was already appealing to me because I live in the suburb. So, I like the ones that are a little closer to home. It was nice and warm. We started on the patio, but before trivia even started, it started pouring rain. So, we moved the party inside, which was fine. And it wasn't a closed event. There were other people there not from the club. So, it was very social. And it happened to be my birthday, so I ordered a few pieces for everyone. A lot of us came straight from work. So, it's just a nice time and smaller groups because we were in teams, but not so small that it was awkward. And just a lot of personalities and fun.
I did the Joliet Prison Tour, Whirlyball, and then New Member Icebreaker, the Billiards Night, Botanic Garden Walking Tour, and the Yacht Party for the Blue Angels. I grew up here and I've never seen the Blue Angels in my life. So it was a nice opportunity to go and do that. And there was a lot of us. By that point, I had already met some people through other events. So, it was a little more comfortable. And it was just a really fun time.

I liked the idea of being able to meet a bunch of people in a more safe environment. Because they also say that they're a member. I moved here from Europe a few years back, and it's a lot harder to meet people. So it was a way to get out, learn about different things to do in Florida, and meet new people. There’s a variety of things. We did a camping trip not too long ago. That was fantastic. We did the tubing in the spring, which was great. I enjoyed things like axe throwing. But we've also done several different events related to animals where you get to see or interact with animals. They tried to do a lot of bucket list items as well. I also like that we did the escape rooms.
My main goal was to make new friends. I've made a bunch for sure. Events and Adventures is doing a decent job at this. And we're all having fun. I know that for some people, it can be a bit pricey, which at times I agree. But at the same time, you're part of an exclusive club. So you have to see it being part of a country club kind of idea.

But I like the variety of the activities. I chose events I like because you can pick and choose. But the stock photos are not really realistic. It would be better if they put more photos from actual events, and people could look through and get an idea what it's about. I wouldn't be doing Events and Adventures again.

I learned afterwards that they have something for meeting people that were on month-to-month type of things. It's definitely a means to social activity. I've gone to quite a few bar-type of places and restaurants, and also went to boating events and outings. So it has been a lot of fun. I have met quite a few people that are good friends. I have met a guy who's really, really nice. He seems to be something that's of interest.
Last night, we had our McMenamins dinner, where everybody was to dress in white. It was kind of a little interesting how everybody came dressed in white. It was all fun. I wish I didn't pay $2,000 upfront for this annual contract. I signed up with the knowledge that there was an interview process and that people were supposed to be vetted going into the club to make sure we were all of the same background or to make us feel comfortable. I am someone who's very social. But I learned that it was going to be a wide range of people of different ages, and mostly not my age. Also, the people were mostly of different lifestyles other than myself. I have had a lot of weird experiences since joining the club, where a lot of people from the club will add me on Facebook, regardless if I've met them or not, which is fine. But then they'll message me things privately, like I've gotten the message that said, “Finally, a great profile.” So I've met all kinds of characters that I didn't necessarily feel comfortable with.
There is a large group here in Chicago that seemed to really enjoy the club. It is definitely a group that is very inclusive, which is fine. It's just that there's a wide range of people in the club and a lot of them I did not personally feel that comfortable making plans with outside of work. So I wish that was kind of explained to me upfront. But there are great events and our event coordinator works hard to plan different events and has to show up to all of them. I understand that our $2,000 payment is for her salary. But it seems we're not getting that much of a group rate for the events. I went to two different events to not have such a great experience with any of them and I would love it if I could get my money back in some way.

I liked that when I went to the event, everyone was like-minded. There were no presumptions and everyone was pretty chilled out and meeting new folks and talking to them. That's the best thing because you don't feel like you're not part of a group. I knew many people knew each other because they have been to other events together and they might have been friends outside of the Events and Adventures. Unfortunately didn't check reviews before I signed up. BELIEVE WHAT YOU'RE READING. They convinced me there was plenty of young adults in my area that went to events and paid for the group. As a country, we were all beginning to socialize again after this horrid time going through quarantine and such. I figured it was a great time to meet new people so I had an "interview" and signed up. I paid in full. In their terms, it states if you cancel in the first 24 hours you get a full refund. If you cancel in the first 48 hours, you get something like half a refund.
Within the first 48 hours, I realize after not making money for a good 9 months it's probably not the best time for anyone to pay $1795. I was dumb. I then emailed the person who signed me up and requested to cancel it, but in the terms, it states to cancel and get a refund you have to mail in a handwritten letter. Even if I wrote a letter requesting to cancel, the company would not receive it in 48 hours because mail was delayed. Mail is still a bit delayed.
There are problems with everything. This company being the biggest one for me. Imagine how poor of a company to become my biggest issue while COVID is affecting the world?! Shame on them. I contacted my credit card company to cancel the payment then they reached out to research the problem (I wish I wrote down the name of the lady that manages/sets up events/owns the company), but she says no refunds. HOW DESPICABLE OF A HUMAN BEING DO YOU HAVE TO BE, TO HOLD MEMBERS OF TO REGULAR STANDARDS DURING NOT A REGULAR TIME. Beyond shameful.

What interested me most about Events and Adventures was that it was, first of all, for singles only and that it evolved around events that is a literal term. I've tried dating sites, not per se want to do dating, but if it happened organically, I would be open to it. I like the fact that with Events and Adventures, you can have all these different events and it gave me an opportunity to try things in the city I live in that I probably wouldn't have thought of.
I've done some of the virtual events like online games, games I've never heard of. It's been an opportunity to try things I wouldn't normally try. I've done Top Golf, a speakeasy club, which is really cool, and a couple dinners. I've made new female friends. One thing about the events, for some of them, is you tend to see some of the same faces. We don't talk outside the events but what we'll do is we text to coordinate which events we are going to next. It's always nice and I’ll see a familiar face among the similar faces through that.
It's been really good and easy to book the events. I just have to make sure I read the fine print because I was going to go to the Memorial Day camping trip but canceled everything. The fine print says credit but the credit means not credit back to your payment. It’s credit back to your overall account to be used for future events. That's not explicit and that should probably be a little bit more literally stated.

That’s fine but if there could be a few adventure events that could be a little cheaper, that would be good. Also, the slots are almost always booked for adventure events. This month, I wanted to do paramotoring a lot. But since the slots were booked, I never got a chance though I was waitlisted. I'm a widow and I needed some more socializing than I was getting. I like being able to go out and do things with other people, so I joined Events and Adventures. Getting to the events is hard but once I get to them, I have a good time. There's always nice people there and I've met some friends, so I never regret going. During COVID, I did a lot of the bingos and virtual stuff. And I liked that. I've been to some of the game nights and the dinners, too. My favorite event was the one where we sat around on tables and played Cards Against Humanity, so it was more interactive.
Most of the crowd at the events are great. There were a couple that I questioned, but that hadn't been very often. One time, a guy tried to start a fight and got all upset with the hostess. We were all supposed to be adults and on the same economical status, but this guy didn't seem like he was one of those and he seemed a little combative. He was upset that he wasn't getting enough attention There were others that were a little annoying in some events and that was just people rubbing you the wrong way. But he was strange.
Other than that, about half of the events I signed up for got canceled. In fact, my very first event got canceled. Then, with COVID, I was furloughed and I asked to be put on hold, but they wouldn't let me. I found out later that other people were allowed to be have their accounts frozen, so I felt that through COVID, I didn't get my money's worth at all. And now, they lowered my payments, so that means that I'll be paying after it's already over or they're going to be asking me to pay a lump sum. Another thing is that there seems to be a lot of activities that you have to make the effort and do them. There had been times where I hadn't made the effort to do that and that's on me. That's not on them.

My first event with Events and Adventures was good. I wasn't nervous. What kind of surprises me as a guy who's 52 years old is how many people that are early 30s or early 40s are there, which is great. I don't necessarily want to be around my peer group. I would much rather be around a younger cohort. Another thing that surprises me sometimes is in a lot of the events, it’s just six guys and two girls. Then you'll go to other events and it'll be 10 girls and two guys. It just surprises me how they struggle to get a balance of girls and guys.
The events fill up fast and somebody should make a better effort on it. If there were 10 people going to dinner, and there were two people on a waiting list, they may as well just get another table. Maybe that was a problem in COVID, but it's not a problem now. I was in an event over the weekend. I was like, “I'm going to dinner at this Ethiopian place on Monday.” Somebody said, “Oh, I wanted to go, but I'm on a waiting list.” It was a nice restaurant and it seems to me that if somebody had make an effort and looked at the list and say, “Oh, there's a waiting list? Oh, well, I'm just gonna call the restaurant, see if I can get another table.” I don't think it would have been any harder than that. But nobody does that. They plan on whatever it is. Instead of picking an arbitrary number, somebody should put more of an effort into trying to accommodate everybody. Having the waiting list doesn't seem like a very good system.
I would have loved it a lot more if it hadn't been so expensive and I had to pay for the whole year upfront. Also, in the 10 events I've been to, I am seeing the same 10 people over and over again. I imagine that 10 months from now, maybe there'll be some new faces but I'm a little bit concerned that after two months, I've met everybody. I enjoy the events and the people I've met there, but if I spent 1,800 bucks to see these guys for the next year, then I would hesitate to recommend it to somebody. If I go to a speed dating thing at whatever bar, I'm going to meet more people in one night than I have in six Events and Adventure things. It's fun and I enjoy it, and it is what it is but if I was using this to find “my soulmate” or somebody that I wanna have a relationship with, it's not worth the $1,800 I've paid for a year membership.
If I'm gonna just be seeing the same people over and over again for the next 10 months, then even if I enjoyed it, I don't know that I would be like, “Oh, yeah. You gotta do this. Totally worth it.” It would be hard to say if I'll renew at the end of this year. After this weekend, it was three nights in a row, it was the same 10 guys. I'm like, “Oh, okay.” It was great to get out of the house. But when I think about it, it works out to be $150 a month. But with $1,800 for the whole year, it was so tough for me to get my head around that.

My friend had told me about Events and Adventures once she realized I was going through a divorce. She was like, "You know what, this helps." So, I've looked at some of the stuff, the post that was on Facebook and everything, but unfortunately, I hadn't even made a chance to get down to participate in anything. She's been trying to encourage me, but going through the divorce is emotionally taxing. I just shied away from really participating. I called my rep and asked just to freeze my account for a couple months so that I could get myself into a better place. I don't doubt that going out and meeting new people would help, but it's an hour and a half drive down there and then having to turn back around and do another hour and a half drive back home. It's just there are times when I get discouraged.
Now, I could see all the posts that my friend posts and all the fun she's had. I know it's great fun but I signed up too early when I really wasn't ready to get out and start socializing again. I'd recommend a friend because it's a great way to get out and meet people. Even if you do one thing, you can always go back and do it later on with other people. It's a good way to get out and socialize.

The pictures Events and Adventures had posted got me interested. Everybody was laughing, smiling and having a good time. Outdoor events they had posted looked kinda fun, so I gotta give it a shot. I was a little nervous in my first event but I met some pretty cool people there. So, it went well. As far as events, I started out with the bowling night. I did game nights. I did the fire pit night. I've probably done at least six events so far from the time I joined until now. The bowling and fire pit events were cool. The hikes were pretty nice. Because I own a dog, I like dog-friendly events. Had I known Beer Bottle was a dog-friendly place, I would have brought my dog instead of leaving her at home. Other than that, the dog-friendly events are cool because I take my dog pretty much everywhere.
One of the hosts overbooked an event. They had a table that was only available for 10 people, and 12 people were booked for the event. So, we kinda had to search for another place in the area. Luckily, it was walking distance and was just right around the corner from where we were really supposed to meet. It ended up turning out okay. So, that was the only hiccup. So far, my service has been satisfactory. I didn't find my soulmate, but I have met some really nice people along the way.

It was unfortunate that when we went to the Wisconsin trip, some of the adventures were cancelled. The tubing got canceled because there was ice on the river. Events and Adventures is crediting us again for it, but it should have been a little bit later in the month so that wasn’t a factor. I had started going there when the pandemic hit and in the beginning, it was kind of slow. We went to a couple of bars/restaurants, and we had to stand outside if we wanted to eat. So, a lot of that was really difficult. Now, everything’s opening up and it’s changing.
Overall, the events are okay. I just wish that we'll have some more all day events. I know that’s kind of hard for people and their schedule if they work certain hours, but it could be an all day thing event that could accommodate some people. One thing I didn't like was when we went to a French restaurant one time, and I bought mussels from there. They gave me 40 something mussels in this thing, and they charged me $86. I think the fee to get in there was like 15 to reserve. But still, they charged me $86 for 40 mussels. These mussels were bite-sized. The food was okay, but I don’t think I got my money’s worth.

My brother joined Events and Adventures for very long and he said it was fun. I had some really bad experiences meeting people and I thought that this might be a better way. When I signed up, they were a little bit pushy. I wasn't sure if I was ready yet because I was working a lot of hours at the time and they kind of pressured me and said it was perfect for busy people.
In the beginning, the lady who was scheduling the interview was calling me all the time. I told her I didn't have time to do an interview then, but she just kept calling. So then when I got the interview, I was a little bit pressured and she made it sound like it was really great. But after I signed up, the events that they had were mostly online, which I'm not interested in. They were also things that I didn't really care about, like NASCAR or bowling. And the fees were high. I'm already paying $2,000 for the membership then I'm paying $50 or $60 to go bowling. Soo I asked them if they were going to be doing some more interesting events and they said yes. I also noticed the travel stuff, which I like, but it's very expensive. I could book a group travel trip on my own for a lot cheaper than what they're charging.
So, it seems like a rip off and you can't cancel. I've only done one event so far and it got canceled. When I got there, the lady that scheduled it didn't pay attention to the hours and they were closed when we got there. It turned out okay because we went and got something to eat afterwards. But I was expecting a little more than my experience, so far, and I feel like I wasted my money, but there's nothing I can do about it.
The Meetup was a pretty good place and they had a lot more going on which didn't cost anything. But they should be scheduling some more exciting events. There might be a change because it's summer now and hopefully with the pandemic ending, they'll be able to do more stuff in person. I was surprised as I thought there would be more outdoorsy stuff, like hiking and camping trips. But they only do two camping trips a year and the first one got canceled. Their rep said they were going to have it even if it was raining, but they didn't. They canceled it because of rain. But this is Events and Adventures, they should be doing more trips and more adventure stuff.

Events and Adventures has been enjoyable so far. I joined since I wanted to do something or go out and do events. I also didn't have a lot of female friends to go and do those with. I've done some events where you meet at restaurants and some more active activities,. They were well planned out and fun. It's just that the people that have been at the events I've been at don't like the same interests that I would have and we just didn't really click. They were nice to hang out with for that period of time, but I wouldn't necessarily want to try and hang out with them outside of that.
Other than that, I liked the Whirlyball that we did. It had bumper cars, basketball, and lacrosse all mixed together. So, you're in a bumper car and you have a racket, then there's a ball and there are baskets, and you work together as a team. It's was pretty fun because you're just doing the activities and you're just enjoying that thing with people. Sometimes it's a little bit more awkward when you're at dinner and you're across most people. But when you have something that you're actively doing, it's a lot easier to go ahead and do that.

I've signed up for about six events and I have not been able to attend any of them because they’re in the downtown area and my work schedule conflicted with a couple of events. The event starts at 7:00, I'm done at work at 6:00, I look at the traffic and it's two hours to get to downtown so I'm going to be late. They even had this new member Whirlyball event and it was on a Friday. The only problem is it was in their downtown location. I was going to get there at like, 8 o'clock or 7:45. There are not enough suburban events, but I still want to give it a shot. I signed up for one or two of the SPR in the suburban area. I'm just disappointed that a lot of the events are downtown.
There was one event that I really wanted to go to and it just didn't work out. They had a group of people going into the steak house. The Steak House happened to be South Luke and I knew there was no way I was gonna make it. That's where you got to be on time for so it was kind of a bummer. I'm not happy with Events and Adventures. I applied about a year ago for Events and Adventures but it fell through because I didn't have the time to go through the interview process. I decided to give it another shot this time and everything worked well. I didn't know what to expect on my first event. I didn't really know how many people were gonna end up being there and what kind of process it was gonna be for that icebreaker type of thing. But it was something I'm good at and not embarrass myself. Once everything got started going, and everybody got introduced to themselves, it just fell into place. I'm going to the Galloping Ghost Arcade in Brookfield tonight. Because I'm 37 years old, the whole idea of the arcade game is still something I remember fondly. I figured I'd give it a shot.
There are foreign trips that I am definitely interested in. It's just a matter of financing it and figuring out how to do it. I was looking at Ireland for next year, even though I'll just end up being on the waitlist. Then May was filled with a lot of stuff that I would have done, had I had time beforehand to get in before the waiting list. I'll see what's gonna happen for June and sign up for as much as I can.

There were a lot of people that I met up with, especially this one guy by the name of Jim. At first, I was trying to gauge whether or not the people there are welcoming, but once I met those few people, we hit it off, and we had a great time the rest of the night.
We ended up going from the Bar Louie and then from there, we went over to another bar and spent more time over there and then ended up going home at 2 o'clock in the morning. It was slow at first, but then it ended up snowballing and got better and better by the end of the night. The biggest event I've seen so far that I'm going to be going for is the camping trip. I'll have a camping trip on the Labor Day weekend. I'm really excited for it. I would tell others to come in with an open mind and be ready to experience a lot of different things, ideas and peoples.

I like getting out and meeting people and Events and Adventures is a great way of engaging some people who like to do active things as well. So far, I've gone to 3 events. The second one was an orientation and it was very disorganized. Everyone was kind of sitting there waiting for the lead to lead but no one was leading. One of the old members kind of jumped in 'cause he saw the same thing happening as well. It wasn't a great introduction if your orientation would have been your first thing. There was also a discussion about a movie and that one was a little bit too geeky for me but it was very cute. Everyone was very nice. The last one I went to was more my speed which was a Van Gogh exhibit here in San Francisco. Everyone was very cool and there was great conversation.
Events and Adventures has a uniqueness and a sophistication to it and I like that a lot. I need to go to more events but things fill up fast so that's a challenge. It feels like one of those things where I have to know the date when the new calendar comes out and I need to literally pounce on it. That's one of those feelings that I'm not liking too much. Despite the fact that you're paying for it, it's hard to get in to and there are not enough of those events. Everyone likes them because they're pouncing on them.

My social life has become so different because of the pandemic and my friends are all married. I thought it would be cool to do something with people, but not necessarily be in a date kind of setup where I am forced to. I like the idea of just hanging out, not necessarily being all romantic. In a couple of events where I went to, the demographic was so all over the place and I didn't connect with people just because it wasn't anybody who would be the same interest with me. That was a little disappointing. Then I almost cancelled. I went on this 3-day cool off period and I had a feeling that it’s not gonna work for me. I talked to Paul and I gave it a chance. Luckily, it’s not that much money for me. But of course, a lot more people would be more willing to subscribe if it was a shorter period, not a yearly commitment. Say, three months, that’s great.

It was post-quarantine COVID-ish last year around August. I had been thinking about it for a while, and then I was recently single too from the summer, so I was trying to get back out there and meet new people. But a lot of our places were still closed. I heard that there was a lot more virtual things happening, so I wanted to check out the virtual events, and then also some of the in-person events, check out new hotspots in the area that I might not have heard of, and then not have to go alone because I would be there meeting up with a group. I initially signed up for a learn-more-about-it kind of session, and then it turned into the interview. And I was like, "All right, let's give it a shot." It's good.
However, I was talking to my event coordinator and looking at maybe freezing my account for a bit because I haven't been able to use Events and Adventures for the past month. A lot of things have been open and I've been so busy with my own little crew that has resurfaced since COVID. We've been swamped with our own events and I'm trying to save money. Some of the really cool events I want to go to are already an extra fee on top of my membership. Or the ones that I do want to go to, by the time I can finally check it out or get my brain wrapped around it, it's already full and I would be on the waiting list. In the beginning, it wasn't that bad because they gave us extra leeway for being new. They helped bump us up. But with me not being so new, being on the waitlist doesn't necessarily mean you always get in now.
I was trying to see what it would look like to cancel it, and then that's when my event coordinator told me about doing the freeze. It was part of my plan that I could freeze it for free for a bit. Because I know some programs, they make you pay a smaller amount. So, if it's free to freeze it, that's better. Other than that, I've had nothing but wonderful experiences with it. The people have been amazing.
I enjoy the dinners. One that stood out to me was one where I could bring something back. I love the ceramics and painting classes because you get something out of it. Not only are you networking, mingling and meeting, but then you also get something as a remembrance. I like the arts and craftsy kind of stuff. The Love is Blind virtual stuff was really fun. It's neat, like a blind and a speed dating kind of thing. No one has their video on and your name is some made-up name for the theme of the month, and then you just get put in the room with someone and you start talking for 10 minutes, and then they cycle you out. And then, you reveal yourself at the end after you've done three rounds with different people. And it's not just an Arizona thing, it's open to all the sites.
And then, the ones I wanted to try just hasn't worked out with my schedule. I wanted to go on some of those bigger trips because I am a big trip person. Some of the local weekend getaways or even going abroad are some of the ones that interested me too in the beginning to join. I like to organize trips and travel, and it's hard to get your own crew together, but because you can't get a crew doesn't mean you can't go. It's nice to know that there's someone already organizing it.

Also, there are some events where there's a limit to how many people can go and I don't know why there’s a limit. And if there were more events that were geared towards each group so they have multiple events each day, it might give people a reason to go to an event that fits them. They sent me the code and then they set up an interview with me to see if I was going to be qualified to be a member of the group. I joined but if I would do it another time, I wouldn't join. There are not enough events happening in the area. It's expensive for what they're offering, so it's not worth it. You sign up with an event that’s gonna be two weeks upfront. Then in two weeks, your schedule changes, and there's not much going on. I would rather have something that I can join this weekend and it's gonna be enough spots, so we can decide on a shorter note. Because there's not enough events, people sign up in advance for these few events. Then I feel like I might not be able to join them.
The Happy hour was the most recent event I went to. It was very great. It was a nice restaurant in the city. I thought I would be attending more events, but then it didn't happen because they post events once a month. They're all over the Bay Area, and there are limited amount of people who can join that. If I wanna go on a hike in the morning and I had to sign up two or three weeks in advance. And on that day, my cleaners are coming. So, I just cannot do this hike. I would wanna have two hikes on the same day or hikes every week so that I can have a choice.

Overall, my introductory experience with Events and Adventures like getting involved in the program has been pretty good, but once they take your money, it's the last you hear of them. Now, I'm stuck in paying 1,200 bucks a year for the next year. I'm kinda upset about that. Also, unfortunately, I haven't been able to go to any events. With what I see on Facebook, picture-wise, I don't know if I really fit in much with the crowd that I see going to the events. I look quite younger than most people out there, so that's kind of one of the biggest things that's holding me up from attending any events. They should have some way that you can get out of it. They sign you up for a year, and then you're stuck paying for a year. People like me who can't attend very many events or who are only interested in certain events will be out of luck, after a while, paying thousands of dollars to go do nothing.

But some people probably wouldn't be part of the group except that they pay in so they have to be. So, I'm a little conflicted about it. I probably won't stay with Events and Adventures but not that I haven't been happy.

One of the reasons I joined was because I like trying new things. I've done volleyball. I like the painting events, when you go and drink wine and paint. I'm doing a hiking event next week. Initially, I was nervous. But eventually, I get to know people.
One thing I've noticed, and it's consistent across the country no matter where I've lived, or what group I've been a part of, the events turn into more of a drinking event. I noticed in some of the other markets, they have two events a day or they'll double up on the things at different locations. They're going to need to start looking at that for the Phoenix Valley. Other than that, the staff seems fine. A lot of the members are a little more socially awkward, which is probably the reason they joined. But I've made a lot of friends there and it's been positive. There's very few events where you don't have to pay, whether it's for the event or it's at a restaurant. There is a sand volleyball every other week and that's something that you don't have to pay for. I was expecting more free events. But everything has been great so far. There's a joke in the group that it's not really called Events and Adventures, but it's called Eats and Alcohol because all the events are based around food and alcohol. The people are great for the most part. With a large group of people, you're always gonna run into someone you don't necessarily get along with. But I usually go along with everyone fine. Because it still does cost money to do the events, I try and force myself to do about three events a month, which is usually pretty easy to do. Most of the events are pretty good. Sometimes, it's hard to tell because it's information gathering, or it's an event or something that nobody's done before. So sometimes they flop a little bit. But a majority of the events that I attend are quite fun, and I really enjoy them. I've made several friends, which is great.
They could be a little bit more upfront about the cost of events and stuff when you first join. I think a lot of people misunderstand. They feel like a majority of events are going to be free, and then some of them are gonna cost money, instead of the other way around, where a majority of the events cost a little bit of something on top and only a few of them are gonna be free. I've heard from a few people that they found that dissatisfying. Other than that, I highly recommend Events and Adventures even if it's not for finding the right person but for finding friends and for getting outside your comfort zone and then for interacting with new people. It's definitely worth its weight.

I haven't had any issues with Events and Adventures. I met my boyfriend through the group, which is great too. We can’t do the events that we can’t do right now and Jake’s Unlimited was one of my favorite ones pre-Covid. You go in and they have all these arcade games, bowling and laser tag. I loved it. For somebody considering Events and Adventures, it is a lot of money upfront. I paid 2,000 for my two-year membership and I wish we would have a little bit more explanation as to where those funds go because we pay quite a bit in events. I'm also a host now and when I started, the host credit went down to $20 an event.
I'm working from home and I have to reach out to everyone that signed up for the event, which is fine. Then, I have to take photos. For 20 bucks, there's a lot more work to it. They want us to post on Facebook if the event is not full. I have a full-time job. I don't have time to sit and watch the event calendar to make sure that people are signing up or if there are spots available. That part is a little frustrating. Still, it’s a lot safer than online dating. Out here in Phoenix, there are some hiking groups that are doing something similar to Events and Adventures. It changed a little bit mainly because it was more of an athletic one and I'm a competitive person. So as it went on, I got more and more comfortable with being myself and being competitive. I’ve been to six events and my favorites so far have been the more competitive events where it’s doing sports outside. But I've enjoyed all of them well. Events and Adventures takes someone who's willing to explore new things.

I was looking to meet people. In the Bay Area, that's kind of hard for kind of people in this age range. I was excited before I got to my first event through Events and Adventures. Then when I went, I was a little disappointed. I went to two events and found it a waste of money. I went to the first event after being kind of oversold on this being a dating thing, and to realize there were no age ranges enforced, so me, somebody in my late 20s, was in a group of people of grandparents. Then there was a lot of selling on the facilitating that Events and Adventures was going to be doing for conversations. None of that happened. There was a lot of stress on the privacy aspect. “We won't give your information to somebody, yadda, yadda, yadda.” Then it's all done through a Facebook group so the only way that I can find out about some of the events is to give all my information.
Going with Events and Adventures is such a ridiculous waste of money. None of the promises that were made were followed. Every event costs additional money, so it's exorbitant. They have pretty aggressive sales techniques. Despite a lot of promises of all the vetting that was done where they said, “Oh, we want people that didn't just end a relationship,” I met a woman who got divorced that week.

I haven't been in Arizona very long and I haven't had a chance to meet a lot of people. So, Events and Adventures was a good way to network and find people to do things with. I also liked the amount of activities. Since December, I have gone to probably 20 events and my favorite is the Marty Time party. I’ve been bowling too, which was a ton of fun but they should have more karaoke nights. One of the good friends I’ve made and I love singing karaoke together. Events and Adventures is lots of fun and has friendly people.

For my first event with Events and Adventures, I went to a paint-and-sip which was something I had done before. So, I was nervous about meeting new people but not about the activities. However, with the whole COVID thing, I've only gone to three events. Going has been hard ‘cause some of the events are in-person, but those are always booked up, and they seem to have a lot of people. I went to a virtual speed-dating event and met someone but it didn't work out.
But it was nice meeting someone who had the same interest, and it was organic and didn't feel like it was forced like it is in online dating where people are just trying to keep the conversation alive. Everybody was really nice. There was a lot of joking around going on when we were all sitting in the same lobby waiting for the organizer to go ahead and split us up. It felt like it was no pressure, unlike speed dating in-person where I have five minutes to talk to a person. I had 15 minutes to talk to each person instead of 5 so, the format that they did it in worked really well. But, things are not the same virtually and so I've put my subscription on hold. I signed up to do events in-person. I wouldn’t recommend Events and Adventures right now but that's because of COVID.

I returned the receipt requested like the contract says but I haven't heard from them.

I was anxious on my first event with Events and Adventures but I felt at home straight away. I’ve attended five events and they’re all so different. I like them all. My only complaint is I'm a lot older than everybody else. There's not a lot of people my age going to the events that I'm going to so maybe I'm picking the wrong events to go to. I'm 60 and I'm thrown in with a lot of 30-year-olds all the time. I'm always the oldest person there and I haven't yet once to see anybody close to my age. But the events are well planned. There's always somebody there and they’re very accommodating and fun. I've enjoyed them and I love the diversity. I've been on a hike, a game night and a private viewing in somebody's home in their theater room. We watched the Christmas concert. The other things that I've done have all been great.

A few of the events that I wanted to attend last fall were canceled 'cause of wildfires and COVID and all the other crap that's been going on. On the other hand, the event I just went on was great. It was the Tahoe trip for the San Francisco group. We snow skied and snowboarded one day. We did a snowmobiling trip another day. Other than that, we just all hung out together. Good group of people. It was the first event I went to and I really enjoyed it. I can't get away from work that often, but a lot of the foreign trips sound fun. I am signed up for the beers and castles tour that's supposed to go to Europe. I don't know if that's gonna be postponed, but that's my next event that I've been looking forward to. I signed up for it right away.

I’ve gone to three events with Events and Adventures and everyone was nice. However, a lot of the events are way up in Scottsdale. They don't spend around into Mesa or a more centralized location. My most recent event was an hour and 15-minute drive north. That's one of the problems that I have attending any of the events. I don't expect them to have them right down here but some more centralized location in the valley would be awesome. When I went to the new member class that they had in February, the host's attitude about it was everybody's got to drive from somewhere but it seems like a lot of the activities and the people are from the northern part of the Phoenix Metropolitan Area.
If they have activities, that would be nice if they could start them a little bit earlier and during the week instead of 9 o'clock at night when we have to work the next day. Some of the activities start at 9 o'clock at night and it takes me an hour and 15 minutes just to get there and another hour and 15 minutes to get home. When I see something I'm interested in and if I don't plan a month in advance to attend it, it's already full so I gotta get on a waitlist. It's kind of frustrating. Sometimes I don't know until a few days before the event that I'm going to be able to attend. What they tell people is everybody register then you can dash out last minute. That's frustrating for people as we get closer to that event that we want to attend and we see that it’s already full. Then some of those people don't even tell them that they're not coming so there would be some space available but I find out a few hours before the event which is kind of difficult.
Some of the things that they do that I would be interested in are more sports activities like kickball but they start that at 10:30 on Sunday morning and I go to church. If they're going to do a Sunday event, maybe they can do them after 12:00. That's a great time to get together to do something for outdoor sport activity. They solicited what people would like to do. I said something like an outdoor barbecue with outdoor game activities on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon and I haven't seen that happen yet. It's not been posted if that's what they intend to.

We went to Sports Garden over in Dallas and played darts and shot some pool. I also went to an arcade night which was also over in Dallas. One of the biggest problems I have is most of the stuff that we do is over in Dallas. I've signed up for a couple that were here in Fort Worth but due to different circumstances I missed them. I had recently moved here to the Phoenix area so I thought to try Events and Adventures out and see what it was all about. It’s a great club. However, the only in-person event I've gone to was the new member meeting. I haven't felt comfortable going to the other ones due to covid. I've gone to a few virtual events which are nice. I did the Love is Blind event but I didn't think that our questionnaires were matched. People weren't showing up. We were being put into rooms just with anyone and the communication was hard. But that taught me that maybe those events aren't for me. So moving forward, I won’t sign up for those events. My goal is to find a good friend group. I'm not looking for a relationship and I was very open with my advisor that if that was how it was going to be pushed, that I would be not attending events because that's not what I want at the time.
Because of how much you have to pay a month, it would be nice to kind of like see an event and see if it's something you're really interested in doing before you sign up to do it full blown. I'm paying for a membership and I'm not happy about it because I'm not attending events. There are a lot of events but those events are not as close. Everything takes 20, 30 minutes to drive to. The events that seemed interesting are on a Monday but I'm a full-time grad student so I have grad school on Monday nights.
I don't know the cancellation policy which I'm kicking myself for even signing up and not knowing that. At this point, it would be best to cancel or not pay per month on this because I have so much going on with work. I would like to know is there a way that I can cancel? With the money that I've spent so far, I don't want to be reimbursed but I don't want to be billed moving forward. I've tried to reach out to the guy who signed me on and I never received any information back from him. It was regarding a concern I had prior to my first event. When I went to my first event, I spoke with my event manager and I felt better about the situation. But it would have been nice to have an email response back.

I went to three events and I was disappointed every time I went to one. The people were nice, but they weren't in my age range and it was extremely socially awkward. I called the lady and told them, "Hey, there's a lot of events where I'm not even meeting people my age range, or if I'm trying to sign up for an event, it's already sold out."
There are certain people that manage the group and when they would plan ahead for the fun events like horseback riding, I feel like those who would run the group or monitor check-ins would already have everything prebooked. The same people kept showing up to the local events and it felt like it was an exclusive club. If you weren't friends with the one who did all the planning, then you weren't able to get in to the event.

Then I came up here to Denver, Colorado, and I've been to two events so far up here and hopefully, go into more starting next month after my life settled down from moving. When I did my first event, it was like I was not sure where I was going exactly when I got there. But once I found the group, everybody seemed to be real friendly. It’s been pretty good. I went to the game night one night in Arizona and it was fun. I barely knew anybody there but it was cool. Then over here in Denver, I went to the VR thing. I didn't really connect with anybody there, but the event was cool being able to try the VR.
So far, I'm still trying to figure out how it all works. Most of the time, when I go to the event, I’m running around looking for somebody with a clipboard. When I did a scavenger hunt thing here in Denver, and we met up at Union Station, there were people walking around everywhere. So I was like, “Uhh. Oh, maybe you’re the person. I see you holding a clipboard.” In some events, I would be like, “Hey, how about a flag?” It’s far away.

My first event was okay. I met some pretty cool people. Then I’ve done the Margarita Crawl, the game nights and some of the dinners. Also done the Italian get-together nights, and the New Year’s Eve last year. The New Year’s Eve party was pretty fun. But Events and Adventures' price is kind of high. I can’t afford it. I had a $1,000 and I went on so many events, and that was $95 out of my check every month. To me, people can make friends anywhere, but then when you’re paying a monthly fee and mostly every event that you go through, you're paying more money. Events and Adventures find plenty of venues and things to do, but some people can't afford to eat out every night. So I'm glad that you get to pick and choose.
I get off work at six o'clock in the evening and the last thing I want to do is sit around a bunch of people and not have a shower. So I get home, and then drive because everything they had was pretty much in the Phoenix area, like in Tempe and Mesa. There’s nothing in Surprise area where I live. Some people drove an hour or two hours to go to some of the events, but then that type of thing is mostly geared to young people. It is not geared for older people. I’m 54 years old. That is not geared for me because, at a certain age, sometimes you’re looking for somebody to do something. But when you’re hanging around with these young people, you don’t have the same mindset as them. So you find older people to talk to and hang with. So for older people, I really wouldn’t recommend Events and Adventures, unless you’re young and you got money to do the thing that they want to do.

There are event coordinators, but it's almost like they're just there. They're not promoting any mingling or interaction. They just let it go. I've been to three events and I have not been going to the other events because one of my roommates just had a heart stent put in. Events and Adventures promotes that they have singles within an age bracket in the events. The events were fine and then COVID hit. I understand that COVID does not equal Events and Adventures, so easy enough to differentiate that the people that attended, and I went to a variety of functions to see whether this is just something I was looking at or was it really happening.
The people that attended in our Greater Phoenix area were friends. They had no intentions of dating anybody and nobody new ever showed up. There were five available men. They went out to dinner and chatted, but they weren't interested in getting your number or dating. They weren't interested in a relationship. They went for the event and camaraderie, and maybe meeting new people, but the expectations did not equal what Events and Adventures kind of promote. It's not cheap, either. You're paying to participate or join. It's like you're joining a country club, but you never have anybody to go golfing with.
Isn't the whole point of Events and Adventures is to meet someone? It gave you a different venue to find someone to share your life with. If I want to go out with my friends, I'm going to go out with my friends. I don't need more friends. But I'm looking for that special someone to share my life with, and I hoped that I would have found him through Events and Adventures because it's not online dating. You get to meet in a group face to face and there was no pressure.
When I went to my first event, a lady was kind of doing all the sign-in and she was hosting the event. Her boyfriend was sitting next to her, who she met through Events and Adventures. So now, you have a couple at a single's event. That was not cool. He should not have been there because he is not eligible. I would not recommend Events and Adventures to a friend and I won't participate anymore. I wasted a lot of money.

I joined this club because I wanted to make serious friends for the first time in my life. I was always alone doing everything myself. I hear about this club all the time on the radio. And all I've done with dating and meeting people was online and it's been a disaster. So I thought what the heck I should give this a shot. So I did the interview which went I believe well. Even though everything they told me was a lie. Like the interviewer which changes every month. The interviewer told me he goes to so many weddings all the time because so many members are getting married???, the age groups are separate, you'll make so many friends in here, everybody is really good in financially responsible, all local events are included in your membership. You only have to pay for food and drinks and out of town trips.
After about 2 weeks I realize everything in the interview that I was told was not true. There's not really honestly I would say any good people in this club. All the guys in it just want to hook up with the girls and not interested in being friends at all. And the girls in it are very stuck up and rude. Even the hosts are absolutely terrible human beings. I got to the point of being in the club I was only in it just to have something to do on weekends at night instead of being by myself and trying new things. I tried to cancel during the time I was in it and they would not allow me to. They did reduce my payments. And then a mistake caught up to me during the membership that resulted in my suspension for one year which was a family violence conviction which they think is a felony. They did say I could stay and then they changed their mind because someone called and complained about me.
And then they wanted me to keep paying my dues even though they won't even allow me to go. So they put me in collections. I disputed The collector on Credit Karma and I got it removed. This is an absolutely terrible company to get involved with. And plus most advanced are restaurants and bars which is not adventurous at all. They have to do that because most of the members don't make really any money. And the age group for most events is usually 40s and up. Only the younger people go to the events where you don't have to pay nothing unless you want to eat or drink.
This company is false advertisement on everything they represent. I'm really hoping some negative company gets shut down by the government for being a complete fraud. I'm just glad I got the debt removed from my credit report without them getting a penny from me! Better beware. I have reported them to like Dateline and 2020 but no response. I just don't see how a company like this is still a business with nothing but terrible reviews everywhere you go to look into them.

It sounded perfect since I was recently divorced. I wanted to find out what I like to do again versus having it all about the kids. I just recently joined and I’ve done eight events so far. I have two more later this week and yesterday, I went to yoga. I also love that there are trips. I may likely go on the Greece trip. The tours and the hotel are all set up, and I wouldn't have to do that. I could join fun people that I can trust.
The experience with Events and Adventures has been excellent and it’s wonderful how easy it is. They take care of everything and set it all up. I love it. Maggie, the one that sets up our events, is kind, generous, understanding and approachable. She books this great variety of things and does an excellent job. Pincus also does some DJ-ing and he's hosted things. He makes it fun as well.
I love the variety of events. So I can try different things that are out of my comfort zone to see if I like it. For example, I'm going to be going shooting. I've never shot a gun before but it might be cool. I get to go play billiards and pool on Friday with people where normally, I have to find strangers in a bar. Now. it'll be people I know. I went to the Mardi Gras Valentine's party. It was such a blast to have something going on Valentine's Day, which can suck for single people. So, I love that too. Events and Adventures is a little expensive but I like that if I move, I can transfer my membership or if I need to, I can pause it if I'm going to be out of the country or on a leave of some sort. Events and Adventures was an opportunity to interact with like-minded people, which made me interested in it. I was excited to see what the experience was about. You didn't know what they look like and you had 15 minutes to chat with them. But it’s a challenge having any trips or events planned. COVID has put a damper on any in-person interaction right now. But it's also the way the online events are hosted. Events and Adventures needs to be a little bit more organized. There's a lot of downtime in there and it's almost awkward for the amount of downtime that's included. Some of these online events are three hours, which seems very lengthy for me.
Some of the interaction on the website is not as intuitive. Prior to us being locked down again, I signed up for an in-person event. I wasn't able to make it and I was having a hard time canceling or getting out of the event. I reached out to three different people and I never got a response. Then when I got a response, it still didn't answer my question. In a different world, this experience might be better. I paid a lot of money for something that's not providing me what I signed up for.

The experience with Events and Adventures has been interesting. I’m trying to get to know a little bit more about what I can do within the groups. But it was okay. I've only been to two events and there were five people who showed up. So, it was just getting to know the process and the people. I went to a Bears and Chicago party they had at a bar and then, I went to the new members introduction meeting. I tried to sign up for more but everything is booked up for the whole month. They had a bonfire event that I wanted to go to but it was full. That would be very exciting because I haven't done that since I was a kid. So there is not anything for me to do but try and wait it out and see if I can get into something if I can. I would encourage someone who wants to get to know people and experience things to try Events and Adventures. It's a singles group that meet all over the city. It's worth trying.

Events and Adventures have been on the radio for quite a while for me but I've never really considered it too much until recently since a lot of my social life has been thrown out the window. The first event felt very natural and the people there were very welcoming at first, especially the hostess. So I feel much more confident to be able to integrate into the social groups within each of the events. I attended three events, so far. My schedule is very tight. However, what they have available is definitely working on my scheduling, so I appreciate it.
There are some long-term members that have been involved with Events and Adventures. So they're already very accustomed to being very welcoming. There’s a sense of community to be involved in. It seems like a lot of it is reliant on social media. That would be an aspect that it wanted to get me involved in. But that's not really my personal preference. But everything else is still very good. The issue comes with a location that I might be not that familiar. It might not be very satisfactory. I've had some issues with one venue that had very poor service. So I keep away from experiences such as that.

I was interested in doing the event, curious what the people would be like and nervous about COVID. But everybody was really nice. I've gone to three events and they've fine, thus far. The people weren't exactly what I expected. But every event is different. My favorite is the Gallagher Park hike. I've also gone to the waterpark, the Rapids Waterpark, and dog meetups. The waterpark, in itself, was cool, going down the slides and all that stuff. It was something on my bucket list. So it gave me an excuse to go. And as of late, I'm trying to look at some of the international trips, the ski trips. Overall, Events and Adventures has great events but I'm still feeling out the crowd and the people type.

Events and Adventures force me to go out and do more things. The cost was a bit more expensive than I would have liked. But the quality of their events is usually pretty good but it varies from event to event. I like doing bowling and pool shooting events, as well as some of the bar-hopping ones. I had a pretty good time going to events and meeting different people up until the restrictions started coming into effect. Unfortunately this year, I haven't had much chance to go and do things and I'm not a big fan of virtual events.

My experience with Events and Adventures has been good so far. I'm in Florida right now so I was only able to go to one event because some other events got moved to different dates that I couldn't make so I had to cancel those. I like how they have different locations because now that I'm in Florida, I still am able to go to some in my area, which is nice. But with the holidays, it's kind of spending a lot of time with my family, so I I'm not going to as many events.
At first, I was a little nervous going to the first event because I don't know anyone and everything. I didn't know what to expect, but everyone was super nice and really friendly, so it was a good experience overall. I went to one event, but I had signed up for a couple other ones. I wasn't able to make it because one of them I signed up for was outdoor dining somewhere. It was raining and really windy. They moved it to a different day. But I couldn't make it that day so I had to cancel that one. Then with another one I signed up for, I ended up having to take my dog to the vet so I couldn't go to that one. But there are definitely things on there that I enjoy.
I should be going to one event next week with my dog. It's like a dog park one in Florida so I'm excited for that. I didn't look at the Chicago one for this month because I won't be in Chicago. Then I might still be in Florida in January so I'll have to look at the schedule to see if there's anything I want to go to in Florida in January because I don't know where I'm going to be. Events and Adventures is a good service just to get you out of the house and try new things. I didn't get anyone's contact informations. It was my first time meeting everyone but I'm sure people make connections and hang out outside of the group too. So, I feel like that's something I'm looking forward to doing. Everything's been great. I really enjoyed the event I went to, but I'm looking forward to going to more.

I just moved to Chicago, so I thought joining Events and Adventures would be a good opportunity to meet people without having to go out to the bars all the time. I was nervous before the first event. But then I got there, and realized how silly I was feeling and I was fine. I've been to two events. The first one was a game night, and it was right when the rides started back up again. So, there wasn't much of a turnout. The second one was whirlyball, and that was a decent turnout. You sit in bumper cars, and they give you a little racket, and you're passing the ball, and then you try to hit a board to get a point. It was a little more difficult than I thought.
There were folks there that I talked to but there wasn't anyone that I clicked with that I’d want to get to know outside of those events. I've already started talking about leaving the group. The clientele that they have right now in Chicago is not ideal for me because they're just individuals who need the support in this group. I don't necessarily need it in order to meet people. These people are just not my kind of folks that I would talk to even outside this group. I'm kind of working closely with the coordinator to make sure I'm going to events where there are people who have a little more quality to them and value. As weird as that sounds, I'm kind of disappointed so far.

A friend that I talked to had said that she joined Events and Adventures a couple years ago, and that would be a good idea for me. So far, my experience has been great. I've been to several events, and there's a great group of people so far. I've been to several game nights and played games, and just out to a couple of social gatherings. I made some friends. Everybody's been very friendly and very open to conversation, which has been helpful and nice. I've had enjoyable discussions and people.

I’ve been a longtime Events and Adventures member, and I’ve been to different events on and off. I went to social events at bars and restaurants. The only thing is you go there to meet new people and socialize, and make friends, or develop a relationship, but a lot of the people aren't there for that. They're just there for themselves and having a fun time. Also, I know COVID is not helping, but Events and Adventures is offering virtual events. For me, especially, I don't see it's worth paying for a virtual event. That's not something that I signed up for. I'm not going to spend my money necessarily going to do that. But at the same time, they do offer events that are at different places. But I’m not gonna play Russian Roulette going out there, and then by chance getting COVID. Plus, they have small events. So the number of groups of people that can be there are small, so the slots get filled right away. So, there's no point.

I was doing research on the internet to try to figure out what I could do to help me get out of my winter funk that everybody gets into. I have a bit of social anxiety. So, it takes me a bit to get out there and start talking to people. But that's why I joined Events and Adventures because it's going to help me a lot in that area. I like the variety of activities the most. Never, in a million years, would I have thought of going to ax-throwing. I'm very happy with it. So far, I did the aerial yoga, a volunteer activity, and a whirly ball activity. I had a great time in all of those.

I found Events and Adventures on Instagram and I was wanting to get out of the house a little bit more to meet people. I was a little bit nervous in my first event, but everything went well. I signed up and I went to the smashing thing. I think they closed due to the pandemic. We did go-karts, but I haven't been able to do much because late June, all July, and early August, I had COVID, so I wasn't able to do anything. Then right after COVID, I've been working. I'm a teacher in the middle of a pandemic, so I don't have time to be able to do events anymore. I do enjoy when I am out there and about with everybody. I really enjoyed my time so far with Events and Adventures. I've made decent friends and really good people that I know that are sticking around for a while. It's a good experience.

There are never events available, everything is always full besides a few boring online events. I am never able to enroll on anything, this is supposed to be for busy professionals, but you have to stay like a college student trying to enroll classes, just waiting and waiting to see if someone drop from the few decent events they offer. I asked to terminate my contract because I haven't been able to get into any slightly decent event and they said I can get out of the contract as long as I paid them $1400 dollars settlement. This is an absolutely scam. Please stay away, they are very good at promising fantastic events and there is nothing but few dinners at a beer place and bike rides where you still have to pay and there is never space if you try to enroll any day after the second of the month.

I’ve been with E & A since March and I've made a lot of great friends. My first event was a group of women and the camping activity was really fun. It's fun to meet new people that you can bond with over commonalities. Everybody's so different but everyone kind of has common goal in this group.
