I'd recommend Events and Adventures. The people are very nice. Everybody's open to make new friends. We went to Ginnie Springs last year. It was my first event. I didn't know anything about it, so by mistake or because I saw there was an empty spot, I went with a group from Miami. When I got there, they had everything set up. I shared a tent with a lady from Tampa Bay Area. She was very nice. It was awesome. I made a bunch of friends and we had a lot of fun. I also went to parties. The first party that I had been to was a Halloween party. It was amazing because Events and Adventures rented a venue at a hotel. We stayed there with open bar for two hours. Then we all went to the rooftop with the guests from the hotel. The New Year’s Eve party was different. They rented a nice venue but it was small. It was just our group, no people from outside. I didn't like it too much. After a while, you know everybody. It's pretty much all the time the same ones.

The best event for me was the one at the beach because I love the beach. But Events and Adventures doesn't do too much beach events. Also, everything happens in Tampa Bay area. I live in Bradenton and work in St. Pete. It's a little bit harder for me because I drive to St. Pete every day then drive back to my house, which is about 40 minutes drive each way. When I get back home, I'm not going to drive back to go to the event. I'm tired. It's too far, so I usually go on the weekends. I paid for bunch of events in two weeks, but I didn't go to any because I've been working so much and was so tired.

Sometimes, a member hosts an event. But not everyone is spontaneous and talks to people. A lot of times I went to events, the host didn't even look at me. I'm a very communicative person. I talk to everybody. I have a strong personality. If somebody goes to an event and you are the host, you are the one that's supposed to say, “Hi. How are you? What's your name? Do you know anybody here?” Make people feel comfortable and introduce them to everybody. Another thing is the other day, I talked to Rebecca, the host, and I told her, “Why don't you talk to the guys? Maybe they can do something similar for teenagers.” My son is struggling to make friends. They would love to do paintball, skydiving and a lot of things but they're not allowed to come with us because they have to be over 18.

Events and Adventures provides a lot of diverse activities that's fun. Our host, Nate, is fantastic. Recently, I went to a mini golf event at the Mall of America here. That wasn't that great, but it was the before and after with the groups, and some of us broke off. That was a lot of fun in that particular setting.

The events are unique but Events and Adventures' interface is terrible. It's not mobile friendly. You gotta log in through a browser. Everybody that I talked to within this group said the same thing. It's not clear what you've signed up for. When you log in, even on a PC, the thing that it shows on top above the calendar is your next event. In my case, it's an orchestral event that I've cancelled, but it's still showing up. I have an iPhone which has a standard screen. I don't have the big one. Three quarters of that screen shows me that event. If I click on it, it takes me back to the same screen. It doesn't take me to the event, so I don't know the details. You have to scroll through and at the bottom of that screen, you can only see one or two events at a time to get to your event on the date that it's happening, among all the other events, in order to see it. It’s not convenient. I can't click a button to see my events. I have a separate filter for that.

I had signed up for an event that's this coming Sunday. When I go log into the browser and go into my calendar, that's what it tells me is my next event. I've cancelled that event because I don't want to go, which is another process. You have to go into a signup function in order to cancel what you've done. But it still shows that as my upcoming event, even though I've cancelled it. The other problem is there isn't a calendar for me. If I sign up for five events, I don't have an interface for me to do that. I'm on a browser and I can see the whole calendar. There it will tell you if you've signed up. It told me that I've cancelled this one coming up on Sunday. But on the phone, I can't do it. Given how much we pay for it, they need to invest in their IT. They need to invest in an up-to-date website and an app would be amazing.

Events and Adventures has their Premier Club which is 40 plus, and they have their young professionals which is less than 40. They don't restrict one or the other. We're allowed to go to those, which is what some of the people my age and I do. For us that are between 40 and 50, Events and Adventures is not designed for us. I would not have signed up for it had I known this was going to be the experience. I was asked the question in the interview. “Are you here for the activities? Are you here to expand your social circle? Or are you here to find the one?” The reason for me was social circle activities and finding the one being a very distant third. But I'm not going to find the one at this place. Events and Adventures is strictly a social club for me but it isn't worth the price of admission. It doesn't feel like there's a lot of connection there and a lot of it is because of that gap in the 40 to 50-year-old range.

I reached out to Events and Adventures because I was trying to get somewhere where I can meet people, make friends, and have fun together as a family. But what I'm seeing is kind of different. The first event that I went to was the ice skating one and it was fun because that was my first time. I didn't have much idea. When I arrived, the host, Alexandra was friendly and entertaining. There were four of us who showed up and other than that, nothing. When you look at events online, the event is full but when you show up, it's two or three people. I've attended four events now and it's the same. Although, anything like clubbing or a social thing, you see a lot of people because there are different people coming.

The last one I went to was the one at the zoo in DC. It was Alexandra, two other people, and me, four. I went there and called them trying to ask their location to join them. I met the two guys and Alexandra was telling me she was already getting ready to go. She said if we wanted to stay, I can stay with the other guys and they started acting like, "Oh, you can go. We can stay." The reason why I showed up was that I signed up for something. I thought it was like we were all friends and we attended the same thing so we can be happy. But it's not fun anymore. It's so boring. People don't show up and when they show up, everybody does their own thing.

Events and Adventures came into my life at the right time. I feel it was meant to be, and it found me when I needed it to find me. It has changed my life in the sense I don't have to feel lonely, and I don't have anything to do. Even if I choose not to do anything, the fact that it's there gives me a bit of comfort. I'd be happy to find a couple of new friends and have somebody to travel and do events with. I’m at the stage of recovering in my grief and finding myself once again. I told my friend that I just wanna travel. I don't have anybody to travel with or just go do dinner with. I have old friends, but when you're widowed, your friends are your married couple friends. So, Events and Adventures is exactly what I was looking for and needed.

I've been strategic about choosing the events I go to, easing my way in, picking arts and crafts kind of things, where I'm thinking there's mostly women there. I just wanted to get to know people and do some things. So, I chose a board and brush activity. And I'm putting that one up because that one evolved. It was a great activity. There were at least 20 E and A members, all different ages, walks of life. It was a good mix.

I was at a table with four women, and I got up and walked around and introduced myself to a few other members. And when the class is over, which was a good class and I will go again, I enjoyed it a lot, I made a nice board, one of the ladies at the table that I was at had suggested that a few of us go out after for like appetizers and a cocktail to kind of get to know each other a little better. So that's how it evolved. And I said, "Okay. This is good."

We got to know each other a little bit. And she walked around the room and asked a few people. So a good handful of us went to the same plaza. And it was very social, a drink and an appetizer, and we talked a bit more. And that turned out to be a nice day. There are a couple other activities and the same thing, arts and crafts things. I signed up for a trip, and I was on a Zoom last night. So, I'm very excited about that.

I did a lot of travel married, but not alone. So, this trip is my first safe trip. We're going to a vineyard in California, in Napa. They have info sessions, and I didn't understand how the trips work. There are a lot of little things behind the scenes. That helped because after I signed up, there were other expenses I wasn't aware of, and it was too late. It wouldn't have stopped me. But I wasn't as informed as I wanted to be. It was a day late that I went to the information session about trips. But once I signed up and started making payments, the person who coordinates the trip set up Zooms and touch base kind of things, which was one of the first meetings. Last night was a Zoom meeting. She was fantastic.

All but two of the people who are attending showed up on the Zoom. And we had a lot of questions answered and got to see each other and see who will go. So, it was another nice way to see who you would hang out with. So when I got more information, I know what I'm doing to book my flight and there would be follow-up Zooms and emails. I like that. We would be informed along the way.

Most of it is a Zoom thing, but I would like to attend mostly Mountain time. And I get E and A is all across the country. But I'm in Boston so that's a three-hour difference. So, when there's a Zoom set for 7 o'clock, it means 10 PM for me. So, there have been a couple that I have not signed up for because that timing is too late for me during the week, which is unfortunate. It's not anybody's fault. The people who coordinate some of these things are on the Mountain time. But there's a disadvantage to those of us over at New England. During the week at 10 o'clock, I work. There's a large group of us that are middle-aged so I'm sure most of us are closing our eyes around 10 o'clock. So, last night Zoom was 9:00 something for me. I had to prep my day to make sure I wasn't in my pjs and sitting down comfy.

This month coming, I had to slow my role in my own mind and say, “You don't have to sign up for everything.” I'm grateful that there are that many options. But everybody has to find the things that work for them. When I sign up for stuff, I sign up for things that are on the weekend or a day that I'm not working. I sit back, pay and show up. That's a nice option for someone who's single and trying to figure a new life out.

The guy that I talked at Events and Adventures gave me all the information I needed. But there's always that unknown, going into the new group, not knowing the people. But they're all friendly, so it cleared up before the end of the first meeting. Right after that, they had WhirlyBall up in Hurst which was the weirdest thing I've played. It's like playing basketball with bumper cars. You gotta get the ball in the hoop, which is vertical instead of horizontal. And you got bumper cars. You're plowing into each other to prevent them from shooting. It's an interesting game.

Events and Adventures is there to meet friends. It's the group I'm hanging with now. We go out to have a good time. All of us are professionals. So, it gets us out of the house and out of the mundane of what we do day-to-day. We're going tomorrow night to some bar that has live bands just to get out of the house and mingle with people. My favorite so far was the event at the Gaylord. It was a live band they had up there and there were 50 of us that showed up. Live band and dancing. I enjoy that.

I did the Saint Patrick's day event and it was good. But the biggest downside of it is that it requires quite a bit of travel. Also, it's pricey and due to the cost, I probably won't renew my membership. Other than that, Events and Adventures has been pretty good and I'm enjoying it.

When I signed up, I email with their rep back and forth. Then, we ended up doing a Zoom interview. Then, I got access to the calendar and I could sign up for events. The most recent one was a dinner. We went to a ramen place and got dimsum. We hung out and talked. Also, I went to an arcade in Seattle and on Saturday, I have a hike coming up. They also plan international trips. There's one to Ireland, Alaska and the Caribbean. The website isn't great but it's something they've addressed already. Also, the age demographic is a bit older than I am. I'm 23 so I'm on the younger side. Other than that, the membership is fun and they have a million different interesting events.

Everything's been great with Events and Adventures. I haven't done any of the trips, but I've done quite a few of the local things. It's been everything from just going and getting dinner, to going and doing an actual game or activity. So, it's been all over the place. I just did a hike to the hot springs here in Washington. That was probably my favorite so far only because I've been trying to get into those hot springs forever. So, it was nice to do that. But other than that, they're all great. We just did a couple things for St. Patty's Day. We did a pedal bar and that was a lot of fun. I made lots of friends within the group, and to the point where now, we even often get together. As a matter of fact, I'm going out with a group of them tonight to go to a movie. It's been great increasing that social circle and getting a group of people that are in similar situations.

I’m kind of a foodie so I like doing the brunches. We've done brunches in different restaurants around our community. We had mini golf. We had bocce outside, which is really cold in Minnesota, but it was a fun group. I've learned pretty quickly that depending on the event, it can be a very different dynamic. There's kind of a more party types, which is cool stuff. But then there's this other group that's kind of mellow and more chilled. It's nice to have that kind of diversity in personalities. So it depends on the event and who's there, it's got its own unique vibe to it. But it's expensive. They have additional fees, like for brunches, it has a $10 deposit to lock in your spot. But it's all right. The facilitators seem very receptive to the feedback on different activities. They're always soliciting ideas. It's a good group of people here in their 20s who run the events and it seems good. It seems they're usually on top of things and really passionate about it.

I was nervous going to my first event but that changed afterwards. It was one of their really casual events for volleyball. I quickly was able to identify where the group was, walked over there and, you know, introduced myself, met the few people who were there, several of whom were regulars who had been there awhile. We played volleyball with help 'cause we were doing something and not just awkwardly getting to know people. I've also gone to a splatter paint event that was a lot of fun. There was also one that was more physical like ziplining. I liked that a lot. I was also a big fan of all the lake trips on pontoon party boats. Events and Adventures is not a perfect program but it has more pros than cons overall.

There are a lot of members and a ton of activities to choose from each month. I've gone to two events. The first one was mini golf. The second one was the new member orientation and game night. The game night was fine. There were a lot of people there so the opportunity was there. However, we were in our own small group doing games and so it didn't feel like get around very well and chat with other people. But I haven't been able to go to too much because of how my schedule's been. But some of the restaurants are pretty cool too. So I'm slowly picking up speed and attending where I can. For the most part, everyone's super nice. You can tell the seasoned members versus the new ones. They're quieter or a little bit more awkward. But the people that are there consistently and that have been in it a while are really good about incorporating the newer members in. It also depends on what the activity is because if it's a sit-down activity, it's a little harder for that. But there is a really good balance of newer members versus older members and that camaraderie. There have been a few hit-and-misses with events that weren't my cup of tea, but they were still fun. They do it about a month out, so you're able to see visibility on what's going on and what's in the area. They'd give a location and price. So, it's pretty informational. They're also very open to suggestions. Sometimes they do a survey, like asking, “Hey, if we were to do a hot air balloon trip, who’d be interested?” Then when people say, “Oh, yeah,” they vote for it, and that helps out as well.

I didn't know that we would be having events all over the state of Illinois, not just in Chicago. It was a little hard to go to those events at first. But then, after going to many events inside Chicago and seeing some events that I really liked outside Chicago, I started to travel more to places like Lombard, Mount Prospect, Orland Park, and Evanston. Especially when I started seeing the same people over and over again, it started becoming much easier to go to those events. Every time I go, the company there is amazing and the host makes it a lot easier. There are a lot of great open-minded adults, which makes the events more special. It’s been a great time and I love the people, most of all.

I haven't had many experiences where I thought the event was bad. The first bowling night started off pretty rough because it was the first time for most of us. But once I did it again in February, it was much easier. Then, there was bocce and booze. Nobody really knew the rules behind bocce ball, but we kind of made up our own rules. Once that was concluded, we all talked in a group in the hidden tent and we had a really good time talking amongst ourselves. Also, we did WhirlyBall for a game night. I had been wanting to do it for years and I finally got to do it and it was so much fun. Everybody was really competitive and it was a really great atmosphere.

I was looking for a travel club more recently and Events and Adventures came up, and that was when I decided to get more information and decided to join. I started on January 4th., and I've done two events a week since the beginning of January. It's been really easy to find events to join. I like the social calendar and how it's built out to have a little bit of everything. They recently hosted the Valentine's event here in Minneapolis, and I attended both of them, and both of them were really enjoyable with really good turnouts. I met a lot of nice people and met a really good coordinator.

I'm single so the dating potential through Events and Adventures was cool. I don't think that's gonna happen for me, but I still enjoy hanging out from time to time. I live 60-plus miles away. I signed up for an event today, which is the first time in months. I went to Columbia and I met some people that I will continue to travel with, with and without Events and Adventures. I already have. So those are two, amazing relationships. Events and Adventures runs their organization perfectly. I feel like the same people tends to circulate through the events over and over. I think it might be territorial, but it's gonna be the same people, which is great. There's nothing wrong with that. It's just like, is there gonna be a new potentially attractive female? As far as the group leaders, they're all good. Events and Adventures hired the right people. They're not the socially awkward ones.

Events & Adventures' service is good. I've attended lots of different events. I've done bowling and pickleball a lot. I've also done a rafting trip that was three days. I also did a five day ski trip last year to Canada. I've also done multiple dinners at different restaurants. My favorite was the ski trip to Whistler. It was well organized. What I like about Events and Adventures the most is that the group is more inclusive. Somebody tries to make the least likely person to talk feel included. I like the variety of events and that the service introduces you to a lot of things you wouldn't seek out on your own. The only downside would be the cost. I won't sign up again just because of that.

Events and Adventures told me that there wasn't gonna be a cancellation fee when I first signed up for it. It’s slow season for me, so cash is not coming in this office and I wanted to cancel. I'm a little bit younger and on top of that, they also told me there's gonna be people my age and it wasn't the case at all. So, I was literally just throwing money away. Another thing is they're charging me for a whole year and a half when I just wanted to sign up for the year. The dog sledding activity has been one of my favorites. It was freezing but it was a lot of fun. I have also loved our group coordinators. Nate, who has been in charge of everything, has been amazing. I have a pretty good group of friends and I've gotten myself a boyfriend out of it. I'm not very much a social person, so I was very nervous about the first event, but a lot of people in the group were very friendly. I’ve gone to quite a few events already. I did a trivia night at a brewery. I did the New Year's party. I did a game night at somebody's house, and there was a seafood boil at another house. Bowling was another one. The trivia nights are really good. We usually do them in a brewery because breweries are usually the ones that do them around here. We kind of meet up and then we decide on who's gonna be on a team or whatever is required by the brewery, but you get to learn about the trivia content. You also get to learn about each other through answers. Overall, Events and Adventures is a really great way to get out and kind of explore the area and to meet new friends.

I'm a little frustrated right now. I was given credit money on my account, but when I signed up for some local events here in Houston, Events and Adventures took money off my credit card instead of my balance that's available on the account. I contacted the manager of this area, and I thought it was taken care of, but if I go on my account now, it shows that I have a zero balance. I had 200, and the events weren't even $200 worth. My credit card still hasn't been credited, and I texted the manager again yesterday, but I haven't heard back from him. Another thing is that living in Houston, everything is so far apart. Events and Adventures has a lot of activities, but Houston's a big geographical area, so I can't go to as many as I would like because they're a good 45 minutes to an hour away. That's tough, especially if it's a weeknight. The people I've met are great though.

I like the way the club sets up the social events for everybody to interact. It's convenient.
I was a little questionable and nervous during the first event, but after that, it was comfortable.

I do one event per week. I went to a lot of social get together dinners during the week, and bar crawls. I also went to a weekend getaway on Labor Day. There’s so much. I love the Las Vegas one with the Colorado River rafting.I’ve met a ton of good people and everybody is always very friendly.

I like that Events and Adventures has a busy calendar, a whole bunch of singles and something to do every day. I wasn't sure what to expect on my first event. It was at a driving range. I was trying to actively talk to people that were part of the group. As it went on, it became more relaxed and casual where it was easier to hang out with a group of random people. There's a good amount of people that were at that event that I still see all the time that are regulars. There's a small group of regulars that are at a very large amount of events, then there are people who are slightly less regular that sporadically show up throughout different types of events.

I've been in the club for a little over a year now. I usually do at least 10 events a month, if not more sometimes. I try to do at least two to three a week. I've done a couple of bar crawls. I did a camping trip for Memorial Day weekend last year. I did a weekend tubing trip in Flagstaff a couple of weeks ago. I go to a lot of the dinners, karaokes and game nights. The game nights are hit or miss. It depends on how many people show up. I did some of the festivals if the festival appealed to me. There was a Cajun festival last weekend. This week, there's a marathon that we all signed up for and a bar crawl after that. I also went to see the Lion King and the Blue Man Group. I had fun at the New Year's Eve party. It was at a big bar downtown Phoenix.

I did skydiving last April. It was exciting. That was something on my bucket list and I would do it again. They broke the group up into three flights because they can't fit us all in one plane. It was a tandem jump. Each of us had a instructor on our back. It was a lot of fun. Events and Adventures is a good activities club for single people if they are looking to make some new friends and find some fun activities to do.

I have been very impressed with the organization and the people. The coordinators and the other members have been really easygoing and extremely friendly. I've never once felt intimidated. The events are convenient and fun. It gives me something to do in the evening. There's also a sense of camaraderie. You sort of see the same people, and some people kind of dominate the groups of the events. But that's okay because it provides that continuity.

I am very judicious about the cost. I will specifically pass over some events because they are cost-prohibitive, like $69 for a lesson on how to put together a charcuterie board but I can YouTube that for free. The trips are very intriguing but they tend to be very cost-prohibitive. Match.com do the same thing and they've got ski trips to Park City and Colorado. But they're half the price of E&A. I would assume that if I'm going to participate in a tour group with E&A, it should be a discounted rate. It shouldn't be $7,000 to go to Alaska for seven days, plus I gotta pay for my own plane ticket. So I'm a little disappointed. The trips need improvement. But 29 bucks for bowling is great.

I'm really excited about inviting people that I know and introducing them into the group. When I was going through the interview process to be an Event and Adventure member, it was kind of stringent. But I wished that the quality control of the membership was better. There should be some kind of age restriction, like 60 years old.

Some are an additional fee but some are just free activities. They're also screening people and you're in a safer environment to meet other people, whether it's for dating or just to have fun. I've made some really great connections and great friends. I've also started dating somebody in the group. They do a lot of hikes and I like to participate in those. There have been paddleboarding events and volleyball on the beach. For Christmas, they did that boat parade which was a lot of fun. On New Year's Eve, they did a party at the Grand in Davie which was really nice.

I've also gone to the 40 and over which was nice as well. We also went to Improv one night for a comedy show that I attended. Also getting to know different restaurants and things to do in my area, which sometimes you don't know. We went to a park recently in Fort Lauderdale, State Park and it has so many great things, great views, great bike paths and walking paths. That's definitely somewhere I'd go again.

They do all the research and the legwork for you too if you're busy and you don't have time. Although they do a great job, it can get a little clicky because some of the leaders are people who are members, too. That can cause a little bit of clickiness. For my first event, I mistakenly chose one of the biggest events of the year so I was freaked out but everybody was super welcoming and very friendly. It was a Halloween event and the first person I ran into happened to be one of Events and Adventures’ dozen hosts that night. He was super sweet and he walked me over and introduced me around. It was awesome. Going back after the event, I saw that there was a sign-in table. People were lined up there and being a newbie, I just went around them. I didn't know the protocol and I didn't read the email close enough clearly. It wasn't until my fourth event that I went to the new member event and I've already done a lot of what they were teaching us.

Last semester, I was busy so I didn't go to events very much but this particular semester, I'm trying to go to four events a week. I'm still meeting new people but I'm starting to learn that it tends to be the same groups at certain kinds of events. But I am trying to get out more. It's still fun and better than watching TV at home. There was a new member in our group and he said that he has gone to activities in a couple other cities and he noticed that Denver's calendar is way more diverse. There are some places in the Midwest where all they do is eat and drink which sucks.

I’ve done so many events and though I haven’t been around long enough, I like the active ones. There was a huge New Year's Eve party and the next day, we went to a movie. So, I like the thoughtfulness that Events and Adventures put that together. They know people are gonna be out till 2:00, so we had a chill activity the next day and they made sure it didn't start before noon. Our grand marshal, Jocelyn, is very thoughtful about stuff like that and she does a lot of variety. She listens to people.

So, I drove in circles and it's in the downtown area. I didn't drive a huge distance, but I was all over trying to find it. After half an hour, I finally found it. I tried calling the guy. He said he wasn't there yet. They were supposed to start at 7:00. Everybody showed up in a group at 7:30. So, over two and a half hours of driving just for 25 minutes and sitting at a bar alone for half an hour. I went to one other event and that was the New Year's time. That wasn't as bad, but it wasn't great either. But the one lady who was the host person was very short. I tried talking to her about the actual club-related stuff different times. I get she was busy, but it was a lot of off-putting things.

I'm trying to cancel, but Events and Adventures told me I'm on the hook for two grand when I already paid $800, and I haven't even done this for a month. It's insane. I'm very frustrated. The lady told me at the beginning that they would record them. So, I tried to ask for a copy because I want to try to prove that it was not explained into well enough detail. But I'm committed to a year without even being able to try it. Their policy is three days. So, when I signed up and became a member, I went to the calendar and looked at all the events. All the events for the next entire week were already full. So, I couldn't even sign up to try something. But I can't cancel. So, I haven't tried it, but it's also too late to cancel. I was never aware of this three-day policy. It should be, at minimum, a three events policy.

When my daughter went off to college, our house was empty. I thought I should get out and start doing something. I looked for a social club and I wanted one where you can mix and mingle. Events and Adventure was the only one of the 60 to 100 that had the mixing with a group and mingling. I was scared to death as I had never done something like that. But I gave it a try.

E&A had something way on the opposite of the town and I drove 50 miles to go to it. The event was canceled for whatever reason and that didn't sit well with me. The second one was the same thing. It was canceled because of the rain. I finally got to the third one and I really wanted to get my money back. A rep said, "Sure, we can do it." But it took an act of God, so I figured I was stuck with it so I should try and use the service since I paid for it. It was about a month or maybe a little longer than a month that I decided to go on a few of the outings to get my money's worth.

I did bingo and I really enjoyed it. At that time, very few people showed up for it. Now, there are lots of people that show up so it's really fun. The other event was eating over by the beach and that was really great. Each time that E&A has it, I'm always there. There was also movie night but they usually have it on the opposite side of the town, which was 40 miles from me. Whenever they change it to my area of town or midtown, I try to make it to that event.

It's been averaging now probably 10 to 15 days a month that I get a chance to go and mix and mingle. For the rest of the time, I either have dates or something else planned. I bowl and that's four times out of the month that I don't do anything with E&A. I've met a lot of new friends that we stay in contact with. If there were events, we know that most likely we're all going to be there at that time. A lot of times when we're there, such as bingo, we usually leave after bingo and go to a club, play darts for maybe an hour, have a couple of drinks, and then go home from there.

I might be a little bit older than most of the people that are in the group. But if I find somebody to date, then that would be wonderful. If I don't, I'm still having fun mixing and mingling with the group. There are lots of interests that I seem to like. I tried to make any of the things that are within 20 miles from where I live because a lot of people drive for you to come to an event and I didn't think that it was right. I usually try and make most of the events or help the host out in any way possible also. Everything has been pretty good for me.

I'm going on a ski trip next month and this one is in California. But after that, I probably won't be doing any more. The trip seems to be really expensive. Before I got married, I used to go on lots of trips. I would go snow skiing, for instance. I would pay for friends of mine to come. All they have to do is show up and everything is paid for. Whenever I booked the house, the ski rental, and everything, it was probably about half the price with E&A. The host probably needs to get paid or their portion paid for. But E&A has a lot of people in the group that have a lot of money so that's not a factor for most of them. But there are a few that are pinching pennies.

Other than that, I'm enjoying it in every way possible. So far, everything has been great and wonderful. E&A got better at telling people about things when an event is canceled. They got better at reminding me about upcoming events that I may have signed up for. Everything has been a whole lot better for the last six or nine months.

I enjoyed going to see The Nutcracker too. It’s something I've always wanted to do but my ex-husband never wanted to go to stuff like that because to him, it was a ballet. So, it was nice to be able to have someone to go with. So, that was nice. Also, there's been some bingo nights at some restaurant bar-type situations and we've done some hiking and holiday-related stuff. There was a pop-up Halloween thing, which was fun. We did salsa dancing lessons and a cooking class too.

I have made several friends and I've even somewhat promoted them. I went on a cruise recently and I met a woman who lives in Chicago near me and we were positioned at the same table in the cruise and I told her about Events and Adventures because she's single as well. She had an interview with them but I don't know if she signed up or not but she found it fascinating.

I enjoyed the first event with Events and Adventures. I didn't totally gel with the first set of people, but I realized that there would be lots of different people in all the different events so I set my sights on the next one. I did a theater event, a coffee and pastry evening, two online cooking classes and a Christmas Market in Boston. There are some things that have sold out. But for the most part, I find that I get an 80% chance of getting into the things I would like to go to. Events and Adventures make it obvious when the next calendar will open up and they have reminders for that.

I signed up because I love to do different events and day trips. But what I discovered is that 90% of the people there are there for something to do and hang out with other people that they already know. At the last event, I asked, "Why is no one here seems to be dating anybody?" They said, "We don't do this to date. We just do it for something to do." I have lots of friends that are closer to me. Boston is a big urban area. People might live 45 minutes or an hour from me, and I don't need friends that are that far away. I love the events that are planned and the people I have met are nice but it doesn't meet my expectations.

I feel like, in my initial visit with Events and Adventures, there were things that should have been communicated that weren't. I didn't get a chance to see what the calendar looks like and with my work schedule, a lot of the events happened during my work hours. So, I'm not even able to attend 90% of the events. Then, the few that I could attend, it has to do with like drinking and I couldn't cancel or change. I didn't realize it until after I signed up. Then I did my Google review and checked on that and saw a lot of people have the same issues. They actually have multiple lawsuits against them.

Events and Adventures could better communicate what the contract really entails and to give people the option to look at the calendar before making any commitments. It's very expensive. It's almost $3,000 with how much I paid. You pay for the membership. That doesn't even include the actual event. I paid $2,700 just to be a member. Then, when you wanna go to events, you still have to pay to do those activities.

So far, my favorite was the Footloose musical at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre. That was great. The calendar has been great. It's just since I work overnights, it's tough to find time to be able to go to things. It's just sort of working within my schedule. Everyone's been great so far.

I was nervous on my first event but it changed after the first three to four events. I haven't attended any of the trips because they've been too expensive for me. I've been doing two to five events a month though.

Dating is also another reason why I joined the club, but I haven't really met any girls that are interested in that kind of stuff. Most of them are interested in just having fun and enjoying their lives. The ones that are interested in dating usually choose the guys who are more attractive. The events that I have the most fun at, usually mingles, are when I get to meet new people and chat. It's just they don't have as many mingles as I would like them to have. I don't really do skydiving or rock climbing. I'm afraid of heights. I don't really find any of that fun. I like the movie idea and the one with bowling. Those are fun.

Everybody always gets together for bingo. I highly recommend E&A. I bring potential dates to events to kind of screen them on how well they get along with people in the group.

Events and Adventures is a good way to meet people. The people are great to an extent. The first event I went to was not what I would have expected. They wouldn't put two tables together to make us all sit together. All the people who had been in a group for a longer time sat at one table, and there were two of us that were fairly new. One other person that sat with me at a different table felt segregated a little bit. Most of the events take place in the cities. With traffic, it's about an hour and a half drive home for me. I went to leave, and they made me feel bad about leaving at 9:30. I refrained from going to a few other events because the first one left a bad taste in my mouth.

The second event I went to was at a member's home, and I had a blast. It was nothing like the first one at all. I've gotten to a few other events where it felt the same as the first one. Nobody made an effort to get to know the new people or the people that they hadn't seen before. The other thing that I'm disappointed with is some of the descriptions for some of the events are very much copy and pasted. I went to a trivia night at a distillery. It said, “Please bring money for food and drinks of your choice.” I have an allergy to calcium so what I can eat is limited. They had bar snacks with pretzels and pizza. There was nothing on there saying that the food choices were limited. Most of the time for events, I have about two hours to kill between work and the event that I usually end up sitting in a park and reading a book. Had I known that food options were limited, I would have taken the time and stopped and ate.

Some events seem to be very wide ranged. A good 75% of the list is at bars or distilleries or some form of drinking place. I don't drink. I go for the fun and the interaction. I understand that trivia is hosted at bars. But at the same time, I wish the descriptions were a little bit more clear about what was available. They try to have at least one or two things that are outside on the weekends. There's lots of hiking. They had a pole dancing class at one point, and that was not my style.

The cost is a little bit more expensive than what I was anticipating. During my intake interview, I asked what the membership covers. They said it gets you a discounted rate at this and that. In reality, we don't get a discounted rate so I'm not sure what the membership is paying for other than their salaries. Most of the events that we have are either free or we have to pay full price. One of the big things that they do, and it fills up super fast, is an escape room. I've done an escape room and they're $65. The event charge is still $65. I expected to have more of a discounted rate than what I'm paying out of pocket.

I got a phone call from a salesperson in New York and she was the best salesperson I've ever heard. She sold me on to Events and Adventures. Unfortunately, it wasn't what I thought it was going to be. I joined so that I could meet women and hopefully find a spark. I met no one that I'm even remotely interested in. I had a couple of bad experiences and I talked with Nate about it. He's my E and A rep and he works full time in Minneapolis. I had an instance where I went to this gathering and I was relatively new. Most people didn't know me. I wasn't introduced to anybody. It was very cliquey and I left early because the only guy that I was sitting with was Mr. Untalkative. It wasn't a very pleasant experience. Nate took note of this experience and he said he would take care of it. Nate is very good at some of that stuff.

The very first thing I did with Events and Adventures was the Labor Day camp out in Wisconsin. I had back surgery in March and had hardware installed so I wanted to go camping. I was very challenged physically because of my recent surgery. They did some hikes and I wasn't able to do them all. They did tubing down a river and I just didn't feel like I was going to be able to do that physically very well. But it was still a fun weekend and I really enjoyed it. I met a lot of people from Chicago and I laughed like I never laughed before. I may be a very superficial person. I'm 54 and I was just divorced. A big thing for me when it comes to women and finding a connection is there has to be physical attraction.

There were some events where I did have fun and some of the hosts were great. We were at an event where there were a lot of people and this was at Nate's house. It was Octoberfest and it was a big party. It was a great time but I got into a little bit of a misunderstanding with one of the hosts. I was under the understanding that from the discussion I had with the salesperson that called me and the video chat we had that we could remain in the club even after we got married to somebody. That's because you still do things together.

The host continued arguing with me and she wouldn't stop. Finally she said, “Well, it sucks to be you.” And I'm like, “Gee, that's nice.” She thought she was better than me and she just walked away. There were four or five of us that were there and we just tried to carry on because it was a very awkward situation. I wasn't around her the rest of the night.

There was also a time I went to a bonfire one night where it was the Saturday night before the Vikings played overseas. The same guy had the Vikings game on at his place the next morning. That bonfire was awesome and that was a good time. Most of the people are great but the ratio seems very disproportionate when it comes to men and women.

There were a couple of times when I saw women that were fairly attractive. But every woman that I met that I thought I was somewhat interested in were in relationships and they're getting married. That was awkward. It seems like a lot of the couples in the group are serious and engaged. At my age, it's tough to find somebody because I'm a picky guy. When you get older and older, it's harder to be picky. The worst part about it is when you get older, the pool gets a lot smaller because the desirables are taken or less desirable most of the time. On the whole, I wouldn't recommend Events and Adventures. I can't cancel my membership and I already paid for two years. But I would like to put my account on suspension.

I’ve attended maybe 12 events so far. I went to Lake Pleasant and we went down the slides. That was the most different and not something I do commonly. So, that one is my favorite. I also went to a volleyball in the park, bowling, a new member orientation and maybe four dinners. I've done about three festivals, a salsa dancing night and Dave & Buster’s. The events were well-planned and good ideas. Sometimes it's the same people over and over. So, there's not a lot of variety. If I had to say a downfall, that would be one of them. We've done some campfire kind of stuff at a local fall festival at a farm. There have been movies. There have been all kinds of sporting stuff, like volleyball, wallyball, and pickleball. Some of it are book clubs, brunch, and different kinds of adventurous cultural eating. It still feels awkward to me right now. But I feel that will get better with time.

The only thing is the slight frustration dealing with the website because it feels outdated. It's very clunky. Signing up for things and seeing what's going on can be hard. Something else that would be handy is if they could text me to remind me about an appointment. Instead they send it by email. But I don't always get my emails the same way I do my text messages. Sending text messages would be more helpful making sure people don't miss things or don't forget to cancel an item if they are unavailable. People forget and it's not easy enough to cancel it so then they are no-show.

If you don’t have a busy schedule and you just want to meet new people, I would recommend Events and Adventures. But there’s not really many people my age, and it’s majority women that attend the events. So, for the purpose that I initially signed up for, I wouldn’t recommend it. But if you just want to meet people and have a good time and go to random activities, I would. Events and Adventures is doing a bit more events. It’s still fun.

It was appealing that Events and Adventures have the international trips. It was different than going out just around town. I haven't been to many events since I signed up because I have been a bit disappointed that the ratio isn't what they promised. And I feel like it's a lot older individuals. But the first event was fun. And there was a decent amount of people, but there wasn’t anybody my age at that event. But it’s still nice to talk to everybody, and everyone’s sweet. But it feels like it's more of a social networking event than more for meeting single people.

The trips are for everybody in the country, not just your state. So, it books up quickly. But they offer 30 to 50 events a month locally, which is cool, and it adds a lot of variety. It’s just finding events that we’ll be, hopefully, the same age, and will have not just all women. So, it would be helpful if you had access to the Facebook group before you signed up. Because you could get a better sense of what is happening locally. Archery dodgeball is the funnest one I’ve done. They added a couple 20s and 30s single meet-ups, which helps. I also do lots of wallyball. I signed up for a couple of game nights. And I signed up for a Stampede Line Dance lesson next Wednesday.

What I didn't like was that they were weird about the price thing. They didn't say anything about what it was upfront. To find out the pricing, I had to engage with someone. The interaction was fine, but it was a "High pressure to close the deal that day" kind of thing. I really couldn't afford it. But the deals kept getting better. Because the deal got so good is what ultimately made me join. The pinnacle example is that one of the events was to go to a zoo. There was free admission to the zoo but there is a suggested donation of $5. It was a good idea, so I did it.

I ended up having to travel that weekend so I canceled multiple days in advance. For that specific event though, it was set to me such that I had to cancel a full week in advance. It was only $5. And it wasn't that big of a deal. But there were other events that same day that I also had to pay full price for because they wouldn't let me cancel on any of those events. Other than that, Events and Adventures has a lot of potential to be an amazing thing.

The first event that I went to was a game night. But it'd be nice if there could be an object that they could put on the table that makes it obvious that the table is for the group. I had to ask people if they were in the group because it wasn't obvious. One of the reasons why I wanted to join was to learn to dance with other people so that event was my favorite. There aren't a lot of guys who are gonna show up to that but a lot of girls will so it was a good opportunity.

The way the school did it was that they didn't use male or female terms. It was cool to get to dance with all the girls. I liked the people. Nate, who is in charge of the club, is a good guy.

My first adventure was bingo at a Chinese-Polynesian restaurant and I had a good time. The people at my table were really nice. They had been there within the club for several months, some for a year. I was brand-new and they welcomed me. This is also my favorite event so far. I liked it because I met so many people more like me, professionals who were of a certain age. They're so busy with work life but they wanted to come out and do something fun and entertaining and just breathe a little bit.

I have another adventure where I'm going to the King Tut exhibit and I'm very excited about that. I do wish that E&A had more events for people 40 and up. Also, the cost is really high for membership so I feel like there should be a discount for women. Every event that I've gone to has more women than men. They should have more incentives. But I have enjoyed my time and it's only been a few months. I do not think I'm going to continue after this year, though. There aren't enough events for me to want to partake in. A lot of the good events are during the week and I am very busy.

I also hate their website. They should pay a web designer and it doesn't allow me to be notified that I'm off the waitlist and they automatically charge for the next adventure once the waitlist is open. I don't really have much choice and I don't like that. Also, when you sign up for events, they don't always contact you to remind you of them but some of them do. I don't understand that.

My only gripe with E&A is the way that it was pitched to me during the initial meeting was that there were going to be more discounts on events. But I'm looking at different prices and I’m like, “Is this the same price as just somebody walking in?” It is a little on the expensive side but I kind of understand why and I see the benefit to it so I don't mind paying it. Other than that, it's been great so far. I've recommended E&A to friends.

For the most part, Events and Adventures serves its purpose of what I want it to do. Usually, it's the same people that go every time. I don't always meet a lot of new people but I've met a lot of good friends from there. However, I pay a big fee every month. For a lot of the events, we still have to pay. If the event costs money, I understand that. But I feel a lot of times, I paid the same amount that is if I would have gone there on my own. There have been a couple of times that I've paid more than if I would have gone on my own and haven't felt there was anything extra. If we're spending all of this money, Events and Adventures should do more to make it a more special for us that are going. Sometimes, they only allow 10, 15 people there when they should open it up to more people and block off space for us. We'll go to a restaurant and get there early just to get a table. If they're going to have an event, they should block off enough for the whole event or have part of the restaurant blocked for us.

I like Events and Adventures. However, I have a daughter and our schedules are so hectic, that I don't get to go do the in-person ones yet. I haven't had an opportunity because, usually, those are scheduled on days when I have her. So, it's just being able to attend those that I think would make more of a difference. But I like the virtual stuff. For some reason, I couldn't get that to work for the virtual poker night. However, I have done the trivia night and some of the cooking classes. I signed up for a few more things around town to do. So far, it's pretty nice. But I think they should have more stuff a little bit towards the west side of the valley. I know a lot of stuff is in Mesa, Tempe and Surprise. It would be nice if some things were more in Glendale, Peoria, closer to Surprise where I'm at. But the events overall are great.

My first event was a month ago, and I was nervous. It was wine and cheese, and I don't know much about wine or cheese, and still don't after this event. However, I met some really nice people. Did my feelings change? Yes. I felt more comfortable. I wasn't as nervous, and I was looking forward to the second event that I was gonna go to. I've been to seven events, including the wine and cheese, bowling, golf (twice) and Ringling Brothers. On Friday, I'm going bowling again. Every month, Events and Adventures does this bowling social thing.

I'm doing a bunch of events in August as well. On the 12th, I'm going to a laser show with the music of Journey. Saturday the 13th, I'm going to a lagoon that has a beautiful beach and a water obstacle course. It looks cool. The 14th, we're doing a boat trip. There are six boats leaving at different places and all meeting on some island. It's like a who gets to the island first type of thing. On the 19th, I'm doing dueling pianos in Ybor, then on the 27th, I'm going to PopStroke, which is the new venue for Tiger Woods. He put this whole thing together. On the 31st, I'm going to shoot bows and arrows like Robin Hood.

I'd tell friends, "Come with me to an event or two and see what it is and meet the people. People are super nice." Everybody's outgoing. They just walk up to you and say, "Hi, how you doing? My name is..." We don't even have name tags. I wish we did sometimes. There are a lot of people and you forget their frickin' names. So, you end up saying, "Hey, how you doing?" Hopefully someone says their name during a conversation and you get lucky, or you walk up to somebody you know really well and say, "Hey, who are they?" But it's really nice.

As a matter of fact, I'm thinking one of my friends is coming with me on Friday night to go bowling, and I'm hoping that he will join because there are more women than guys. I don't really care about bowling, but I'm dating one of the women. I just met her through bowling and we started talking and one thing led to another. We're pretty hot and heavy, but there's a couple of other girls I really like a lot too. There's a lot of women and they're all nice, and some are really nice looking as well. The thing about Events and Adventures is they've weeded out the riffraff. You need to make X amount of dollars and you need to be able to be active and go from there. Sometimes it's like dating sites.

And I'm a little disappointed with the age gap. When I go to these events, some of them looked like they're in their 50s. The last event I went to was a brunch at Shooters. Only five people attended and they looked like they were in their 50s and 60s. I'm discouraged to schedule more because I don't want that to keep happening. I don't want to be friends with people that are that much older than me. That's not why I joined. Also, it seems like the ones that I want to do cost. I'm enjoying it. It's a little different dynamic. For me, it's harder to come into the group because I'm new. It's harder to really get a feel for things when other people have already been there and they know each other. But the more I participate, the better it gets. Another thing that is more challenging is my work schedule. I don't work a 9:00 to 5:00 and because of that, it makes going to some of the events a little bit more challenging. At this moment, I have the weekends off, so I get to attend those. It spreads out a little bit of what I'm able to do. But overall, it's good.

I've gone to the margaritas and tacos and I've done the decades dance. I've also gone to a billiards event and a Beer Olympics. It's not that the events were bad but it's a little bit more of the organization. I know all the hosts ‘cause there's only a handful of them and they all rotate through other events that they have. The Beer Olympics could have been a lot better if it was planned out a bit more in advance. Sometimes it seems like there aren't enough additional hosts. Some of the hosts are doing too much or they're not able to do enough because they're focusing on other events.

The first event that I went to at Events and Adventures was fine. It was a party bus. I've never done a party bus before. I also went paintballing, dueling pianos, a white elephant party, a wine down Wednesday and the Fourth of July boat party. The vetting process is great. You obviously want to surround yourself with great people. The marketing that they portray made, at least, the Miami chapter seem a whole lot younger, though. I'm 37 years of age. There are some young people. But for the most part, a lot of the group is in their upper 40s and below 50s. I feel like I was sold something different than what it really is. For such a big decision financially that I had to make on my end to be a part of this network, I was misled. And you only have three days to cancel or to get refunded on your membership.

At this point in time, I was hoping that it was going to be more for singles. But, it is really more for the adventure side. But it was marketed to me as a dating platform and I just don't really see many people. I haven't gone on dates with anybody out of the group yet, but I'm working on it. It's not necessarily the right age demographic for me for dating. I was expecting it'd be more my age and younger. But in reality, it's skewed a little older into the 40s and 50s.

I'm liking Events and Adventures a lot. They do everything they say they would. And if an event falls through, they refund your money. Once in a while, it can be a little disorganized. But for the most part, it's a lot of fun. You go in to meet guys or make dates, but I've made a best girlfriend and made a lot of friends. I've even been on the trips with them. I went to Iceland with them and I'm going to Thailand. I did three events this week.

Iceland was amazing. It took me three days to figure out how to stay warm over there. But I saw the Northern Lights, and the ice caves. And you can do something like that when you're going back to warm weather. You're in the cold for nine days, and you go back to warm weather. It was amazing. Very well organized, very well done. We had some bad weather when we were there and they just changed the itinerary around. All the days were different, but they made sure that we did everything and more than it said on the itinerary. However, our event manager down here is rushing a little and she's overwhelmed. Last Saturday, we had an event. It was a movie theater for Thor. Everybody showed up on Saturday. And when they got there, we found out that it was supposed to be Friday and she screwed up. That's just minor. But all in all, she's doing a good job.

You should do it. It gets you off the couch and out and with friends. And everybody is very accepting. It's a good group. I'm 58 years old and I'm with the 20s and 30s. I call them teenyboppers. And we all have a good time. Nobody cares about age. We'd go to an event, the event is two hours, but we go out after and after. We're up until 3:00 in the morning and we don't even know it. It's not just the event. It's just going out, being open, meeting other people and having a good time.

I did the concert, two brunches, and the Brave game sunset. I enjoyed the Rays game. I liked the cruise, the water activities, and the beach. We get together at the beach. That was awesome. The brunch place that we went to, the idea was great. I also went to a dinner. A great place. And it was great to go around and explore Tampa and new people at the same time. But the brunch places, I didn't care for as much. All the food was natural and I didn't like that. I bit into a pancake and I tasted nothing but cinnamon. But now I know. I pass by that place, I would never have known that I didn't like that if I didn't go there and check it out. But the dinner was great. We went to this little Italian restaurant. I liked a lot of it where we would do more social dinners. Also, they had parasailing and I loved the little getaways that they get. So, I'm very pleased so far.

The sunset cruise was awesome. We all met, we went on the cruise, we were all together. There was an announcer up there telling us what's going on and it was delightful. I love those kinds of things. We were able to go on this cruise at a discounted price because it was on a group rate. So, if I will do it on my own, I'd pay more. So, I like the fact that I got it at a nicer rate and I would recommend. I wish that there were more cruises because they've got all kinds of things going on on the water. They do kayaking. But I like the actual cruise or the water activities. And my second favorite was when we went to the beach. All of us went there. I'm going tomorrow to a bar where they live music. And Sunday, I'm going to a pool party.

I liked the fact that Events and Adventures had the little finishing touches, like they had the glow bracelets. They add a bit. I appreciate that. I love those kinds of things. The online activities, I'm not very interested. And last night, we were supposed to go to cantina, but it was hit by lightning. So, we went to this little bowling alley. The first one I went to, I signed up for a concert in the park and it rained. And our leader, Rebecca, was awesome. She knew what was going on and she took us to these little places that she knew of and it ended up being a fabulous evening. So, I've been very pleased so far. Everyone has been very friendly to me and it has been very nice.

I really like this. I'm a teacher. So, in the summer, I've got this more time. As the year progresses, I'm not going to be able to attend as much many events, not because I don't want to or it's getting old, but because of my schedule. It will be more on weekends and holidays and stuff. But I like the fact that there's a calendar. I get to pick and choose. When it's full, they always seem to make accommodations for me. I was afraid that I'd signed up for something, everything would be full, all the good stuff. But that's not the case. So, everything I want to do, it's right there. But I would recommend a bit more water activities because we're by the ocean, and that's something not every place has. That would just be my recommendation because Events and Adventures is doing great.

At first glance, "Oh, 2,400. That's a lot of money." In this stage of my life where it's really hard to meet people, it's hard to go around, going to bars, not my style. You're really paying for the calendar. And a lot of those activities are free. If you want to pay for more stuff, you can too. It's on your own discretion. It was well worth the money because I'm able to meet people and see the new city at the same time. I would tell my friends it's really something. It's a good use of the money if you're single. It's hard to meet people and people are married, they have their kids. And when you're single, you're in a group that's an oddity. It's very hard. Going with a family, you just are tag-along.

But Events and Adventures gives that opportunity where you can meet people. If you meet someone in the group, great, and strike it good. Or if you made a girlfriend, it doesn't matter. You're there interacting with people with the same goals and desires. And everybody has a good time. It's a good investment of the money. Otherwise, being single, you'd spend that money in bars and not be able to explore having that opportunity. It's a great concept. I'm mad at myself that I didn't come up with this idea years ago. I'm like, "Why didn't I think of this?" Because you have a calendar, you have an interaction with other people and it's a great way to get yourself in a situation where you're with other people. I'll go to places by myself, explore by myself.

But this way, I don't have to go alone anymore. I'm in a group. I'm very grateful that I stumbled upon this. And when I told my friends at first, they said it's a lot of money to put up for something like this and don't get anything. But you're paying for the challenge and the opportunity. And to have that opportunity that, normally, if you're doing it on your own, it's not gonna be as fum or memorable. You have a purpose and you're in a group. And I like the fact also that they always make a point to make pictures, a group picture, and they post it on the site and on Facebook. I take my own pictures. But when they take it as a group, it's nice to have that little memory.

I like Events and Adventures. They did a rooftop pool party one in Fort Lauderdale. And it was fun. I liked it. They also did an art in the park, but it's a paint fight. That was fun too. Just there could be a logistics thing. I live in Miami. And I feel like a lot of the events are catered to Fort Lauderdale. And the way they base it from what I've been told is based off how many people actually are signed up in the group. So, if the majority of the people are signing up in Fort Lauderdale, they tend to have more events in Fort Lauderdale. If they were to have more people in Miami joining the group, then they would have more events in Miami, which I understand.

I see myself going less now because gas is on the rise. Life is getting more expensive. And sometimes, I would be like, “Man, I just dished out money to join this club.” However, because everything's so far, I'm not taking too much advantage of it because of that. But they do good, and we do go. I'm sure if I were to live up north a bit more or if they had more people from Miami join, it would make a huge difference in terms of where they are having these events. Other than that, they're welcoming. We all get along for the most part. It would be great to add that if you travel to another city, and that city has an Events and Adventures group, you're able to attend if you RSVP. I know they have a Boston group. So, if I go to Boston, I could look at the Boston calendar and say, “I'm gonna be from this city and state. What events can I join while over there?”

When I joined, there was only about five of us. Nowadays, things are booking up so fast as there's so many people here now. Also, I work nights Sunday through Wednesday so it takes away a lot of the time that I can go do things.

I'm recently divorced. I needed a way to do things that I’m interested in with people that are good. Whether it's to end up in a new relationship or develop new friendships, I need my own circle. I needed it to be in a safe environment. I'm on Instagram a lot and Events and Adventures came through my Instagram feed, and I said, “This seems really safe.”

When I had my interview, the rep went through the calendar with me, and I said, “I would love to do that and all these things!” After the interview and the questions I was asked, I was reassured that if everyone's getting asked these questions and they're accepted into the group, then they’re okay. I'm happy that I'm doing it. I'm really so impressed with the friendships that have seemed to have developed and really are going to flourish. Last night, I was at an event, and two people were talking and it was as if they'd been talking and known each other forever and they just met that evening. I really enjoy that piece of it. It’s something that I need in my life, to know that there are really genuine people out there.

It got canceled and turned into bowling, which I prefer because I'm a bowler. It was when the club was very new and there were not many people in the group at all. It was only the fourth event they've had because the club just opened in this location. Now, I've been to a couple of hundred events. I usually do at least one event a week. I'm going skydiving at the end of July and I'm excited about that. I have been recommending E and A to a few friends but unfortunately, there are no groups in their area.

I've been to three events with Events and Adventures since I signed up in March. I went bowling, to a piano bar event and the ax throwing. The ax-throwing was intimate. It was a better getting to know you kind of thing, but there were more women than men. The bowling was more of an equal mix. I enjoyed that too. But there could be better leadership and direction with the person hosting the event. The idea was great with the piano bar but I had to leave early because it got louder. If there is an event like that, there should be more time mingling before the event so that we could get to know each other a little better before the loud music. Also, they seem to keep repeating a lot of the same events over and over again. It should not be the same thing month after month, maybe it should be every other month to add more variety.

I am a social person and willing to meet people whenever. I was a little concerned that with my limp, I'd be questioned. But when I went to my first event with Events and Adventures, people were all different ages, sizes and physical ability levels, so it was fine. I was, at 41, the second youngest person there. Everyone was nice but I didn't get to talk to people very much because everyone did their own thing.

I went to the beer and burger festival but it was so hot. Everyone left after two hours and it wasn't a very good event. Everyone was disappointed. I also went to the music festival event in downtown Tampa. But everyone went and did their own thing again. They were already cliqued together. I talked to a few people a little bit, but I ended up leaving because I couldn't find people to talk to. Those are the only two ones I was successful at going to. I tried doing a dinner at The C House, but I had a work emergency. Then, I had paid for and tried doing the comedy club on a Friday night. But after spending an hour and a half looking for parking, I gave up. I went to a brunch once and that was nice. One of the people rubbed me the wrong way though. I didn't understand humor and made me feel uncomfortable.

I'm not thrilled, right now, about Events and Adventures. I have the Italy night coming up. I paid over $2,000 for this. A lot of stuff is expensive. I was not expecting to have to pay for so many events and not at a discounted price. It's also difficult to go to events that are far away. They'll have a bowling night, but it'll be in St. Pete on a Friday evening, and with Friday traffic, I can't get there. The price of gas is so high right now. Parasailing is $89, plus the cost of gas and the cost of this membership. After my time is up, I'm not re-signing up. I can't afford this and I wasn't the only one. I also met another person who said, "I wasn't expecting to spend so much money after spending so much money." The concept is great. But what am I paying for in the membership fee of over $2,000 if I'm still paying for non-discounted events?

They put a lot of good thought into making the events that they try to book and I was not able to make some of them because of my schedule so it’s not them. I did the hiking trail, archery, a brewery with a live band and the candle-making, which was one of the better ones.

I’m aware that Events and Adventures is there to mingle and make friends but it seems like most of their outings are majority guys. If I’m going out to have fun, it’s okay to be with the fellas, but at some point, you want to have some women there to offset that. It could be there are more guys in the Tampa region, but it seems like it’s mostly guys that go out. The few women that are there that I would find attractive, everyone else does too. So, you got everyone swamping them or you can already tell that some of the women are already interested in somebody because they stay close to them. So, you got to take that away. It seems sort of unbalanced when it comes to that type of thing.

The last event I went to was a game night, which was a ton of fun. They feel like a lot of organized activities on a college campus. It's a lot of meeting new people and you get one of two types - the ones who are lifers who have been on the program for years or the ones who are brand new and still really trying and giving it a go. If you're new to the area, if you don't have people, and if you're looking to add a lot of social activities to your schedule, go for Events and Adventures. I found that the events are much better than the first experience that I had with Events and Adventures. The new member orientation that I went to freaked me out a little bit because it was very corporate and awkward. It was a mixed crowd and it was all the new members. I walked in and they said, "If you want to meet guys, you should go to things that guys like, like axe throwing and barbecues.” That was not subtle at all and it made me feel really uncomfortable.

They then broke us up into a couple of conference rooms. We played and I like left after two games. I only stayed to be polite. It would have been weird to just walk in and walk out. Events and Adventures should do new member orientation somewhere other than their corporate office because it felt really unnatural. But I liked and enjoyed the events I attended past that orientation. I've been to a handful of them and had a good experience with all of them. I went to a pedal bar, a jazz concert, and an aerial yoga class where you hang on the fabric thing. That was really fun and I really liked that. We went to a cooking class and we made South American steak. That was fun too. I mostly go because I paid for the membership and to try things in groups. I decided to go the route of doing the new members thing first. I'm very process-oriented. So, I went in to do the new members’ game night, and getting to know everybody and all the things about it first. That was the very first event I went to so I would know other new members were there just like me. And I would feel less awkward. I was excited. It was a game night as well. So, that was a fun kind of deal. It was, here's how this whole thing works. After that, it was a mingling situation with all these new members. I also got to meet older Events and Adventures members too.

The Halloween party was also fun. It’s an annual thing that Events and Adventures does. I won a Halloween costume contest for that. But my favorite was a New Orleans theme situation, which was also in February so it was a Valentine's slash. You could dress up with Valentine's on you. You could dress up with Mardi Gras theme or with crawfish theme situation. I went Mardi Gras theme.

I have always just wondered because sometimes when I look up the cost of some of the events that are associated with the things, they are more expensive sometimes to do some of the events than it would be to just go myself and do the event. Which I was told when I joined that we get group discount. And that's not necessarily the case. So sometimes I don't do those associated with higher cost, or I choose not to do any of the events that cost money. Because I feel like they're almost price gouging us in a way. So I feel I would rather just go and do that.

It sounds like a cool idea. Like, “Oh, that's cool. I'll just go and do that some other time with some other people.” Because I would look on the website and be, “Oh, it's actually that much money.” You could just go and do that. And we're not getting a group discount, which I feel is a misnomer from what we were told in the beginning. But I love the events and having fun with people, and all the people that are involved with it.

There's a real lack of some organization because some of these events could have been kickass, but they weren't organized properly. Events and Adventures has all these different branches. How often do the actual coordinators sit down across the table from each other? Develop a strategy for each location. Here in the United States, geographically, everything is different. And if the organization itself got in tune in that everything is happening and works together, they can have one kickass organization.

I'm in Seattle, and I'm not happy how it is here. I've been to Denver and it is a lot more than what Seattle is. Some good stuff on weekends. But it's not always that way. I don't wanna go into cake decorating on a weekend. There have been times when there was something going on, and they're gone halfway through it. Even some of the events could be planned a lot better.

In Denver, I went to this ‘80s thing. It was a good setup, but there was no dancing. And even the music that they could have easily gotten, there was no ‘80s music. It was going by Pandora, whatever the bartender had. It was a good concept. It’s awesome, meeting people. But it has to be a bit more organized and different types of events. And there's so much a person could be doing with that. I don't see it happening. And I'm really disappointed that here in Seattle, because I've gone to events, it's three or four guys. For example, there was an event that we went to as a social. It was awesome, but it wasn't advertised properly for the clients. Will I stop? No. I'll join again. I'll probably renew my subscription. But I'm hoping that things will change. I still believe in it.

Signing up with Events and Adventures was fine. My first event was a game night. It was a taco social in the middle of the day. I don't think it was the best first event for me to have gone to. Most of the people there sat on their phones. I just introduced myself to a few people at the table. That's something that the hosts that they have now have really made an effort to change. I go to events regularly now and it's a ton of fun because I know everybody in the room. I've gone to Roars and Pours, which is an event at the zoo. I've gone to the Evening in the Botanical Gardens, Wonder Spaces, Puzzles at the Park, and the game nights. I've gone to the restaurant nights because usually, they do one barbecue place in a month. I also went to a cheese-making event.

I enjoyed the country music festival. That was fun for kind of an evening event. The restaurant events are very different because you're sitting and it's more about the food and you talk to two or three people around you as opposed to something like going to the Western event. I really enjoyed the Valentine's party, the Halloween party, and the New Year's party a great deal. Every girl enjoys an opportunity to get dressed up.

I'm going to Morocco in October so I'm very excited about that. The international trips hadn't really held a whole lot of appeal for me. I travel a lot on my own and I'm really comfortable with that, but Morocco has always been a bucket list trip for me so when that popped up, I couldn't pass on it. They're doing Beer and Castles in Europe, and you're gonna go to many different cities in 10 days. You're going to be exhausted. I've been to those cities and that doesn't sound like fun to me. At my first event, everybody was really friendly, so it was a really positive experience. Each event offers something different. Each one is a little bit different. I really enjoy the hikes more than sitting at a restaurant. Restaurants are still fun too, but I like the more physical activities. I’m about to go ziplining. I've done a bunch of hikes, and some dinners. I went to a couple of personal events with them. Now that it's summer, there are some more hiking events. We're doing a horse racing event, too. So, those are things that are coming up that I'm looking forward to.

Every event, even if it wasn't as expected, things happen. The people come together, and we've always made it fun. The whole part is to be with people. Not every event works out as planned, but at least everybody does their best to make it a good event. Some of the hiccups include reservations for the tables that weren't there, so we just shoved tables. The event that was supposed to be happening for the sign-up wasn't there as planned. There was some other league going on, so we couldn't do what we wanted to do, but we still made do.

Overall, I have made some really fun friends. I was more interested in making friends than I am trying to find a significant other. I like that it's a multiple age group, so there's a lot of diversity of people, interests, and conversations. So, it's not just the same old peer group, which, is interesting and better. You’re just not hanging out with people within my five-year age bracket. I've got all kinds of interests in diversity there and that, to me, is a benefit.

If I met someone, I would probably just waste the rest of my time on my events. I went to Hawaii for two weeks and got back last week. Before that, we went to Mexico and next month, we’re going to Coachella. We’d go to the Bahamas in the summer then to Miami in December. I'm not short of activities or friends. I just don’t have anyone to date.

At the time when I first heard about Events and Adventures, I was in a relationship, and I didn't realize I could attend it until I was single. But I found out as long as you're not married, you could. I liked the idea of the activity for adults. My first event was the Slip N Slide and it was one of the most memorable events. I met a friend who's one of my best friends now from there, and he took me rock climbing right after. I'm doing skydiving and an obstacle course. I also did fencing, bowling, billiards, a ropes course, skating, a lot of hikes, a fine dancing club and karaoke. We have birthday bashes at different clubs. We recently did trampoline dodgeball. That was a lot of fun, too. I recently met who I would consider my best friend. She and I put shirts together for our events.

I would highly recommend Events and Adventures. My intention going in was find my romantic lifelong partner and it wasn't what I expected but what I found were lifelong friends. I have probably 10 right now. We text and they support me in everything. We now plan trips together.

I joined Events and Adventures in March and went to a new member event. After the new member event, they had a game night. It was nice. Then I went to a dance party which was nice too. The coordinator greeted me at the front door and made me feel comfortable. He even offered to walk me to my car afterwards. The event was a little far away though. Most of the events are in Dallas, and I live north of Dallas, so it was a little bit of a drive. But it was fun. They had 80s on one side, and 90s on the other. Everybody was friendly and nice.

The next event I did was an online event. I was on the waitlist then they just automatically put me in. I didn't check my email and all of a sudden, they debited my account and charged me for this event. I was supposed to pick my mom up at the airport. I didn’t like the fact that they charge you. On the new member meeting, they said in order to get your money back, you have to cancel seven days prior. It’ll be a credit on the account that you could use for another event. But I thought that it was kind of weird that they had to charge everybody. The fee which was $29 was a little steep for a Zoom meeting about dating. I learned a couple of things but it wasn't worth $29.

Then I'll be traveling to Chicago for work and I plan on attending some events out there. There are more guys than girls but everyone's been pretty cool. However, what was advertised isn't necessarily what I experienced as far as this outgoing singles kind of group. I'm entering this world after 15 years so this is a little bit new to me so maybe I had some false expectations. But overall, it's a decent avenue to get out of the house and meet people.

I would also appreciate if they had some sort of cancellation fee that I could possibly pay so I no longer have to pay the contract price. I had no idea going into it that I would end up getting into a relationship. The directions provided on how to get to the events and the communication between the host and everybody that's attending is really good through the apps that they use. I was definitely more excited than I was nervous at my first event then it very quickly became a relaxed environment. There was a host that saw you when you walked in, so they made it a little easier for you to meet everybody else. They introduce themselves and then everybody else.

All of the events have been pretty good. One thing that is a downside is the additional cost for events on top of the large amount you pay for membership. As soon as I got to talk to some of the members, they told me, “If you have an Android, use the site like this. If you have an iPhone, use it like this.” Since then, I just go home and use the computer. And trying to sign up for that local adventure with the Denver group was hard to figure out. I got in touch with Curtis and he tried his best, but he said, “I do international trips, but go and do this.” On that same call, another member had called in and was, “How do I sign up for that trip?” And we walked each other through it. Curtis did not get me to where I needed to go. But I'm new, and I just have to learn my way around it. But they should make it easier to sign up and track what they are signed up for.

I went to the new member meeting and that was okay. I love everybody. I like my Phoenix lady. They were trying to talk about something. They were trying to have the floor. They were all joking around about it. But towards the end, she was not joking around to the older lady that was there that have been in Events and Adventures for a long time. The older lady just wanted to get a word in, but the Phoenix lady was weird. It was like, “You're not important.” But maybe she’s a firecracker. That was my first impression of her.

I've only been to two events so far but the first one was great. It was a small group but it was still big enough to have different people. We went kayaking. So, it's a good activity where you're out and about, but it's easy to row up to or behind other people to talk to different people. The second event was lackluster. We went to this rock climbing place and it was crowded and there wasn't a lot of choice which courses were good. It seemed like it was more about how hard can we make these handholds than just enjoying the rock climbing and exercise.

The host and one other were the same from the first event I went to. They were great. The other two were not. One guy was 300 pounds and did not end up rock climbing. The whole point of picking which events you want to go to is to meet similar people and similar interests. The other guy was a little socially awkward and his aspirations didn't appeal to me either. With the income and the credit stuff in the interview that's gone over upfront, there'd be a little bit higher quality people but I didn't get that from those two. Also, that event was small to begin with. So, there wasn't a lot of different people. The takeaway there would be a little bit more involved screening.

The other thing is this group is based in Tampa. I live in Manatee County and I knew it was gonna be at least a 40-ish minute drive to get to most of the stuff. But after doing it a few times and then also finding out that I didn't have a great time at one of these events, I didn’t want to spend two hours driving especially on a weekday, to have a lackluster experience and pay for it. So, going forward, I would like to see a little bit more specialization. This group is new so I get that. But it would be a better retaining tactic to focus on one age group. Grow that age group first so that there's activity and events on the board, and it's healthy and active. Then add in other age groups. Maybe there are events that are separate for both or maybe having this strong, foundation or base will help welcome more people in and have more events. I'm 27 and I'm not looking to meet 60-year olds.

I sent Rebecca, the leader of this group, a suggestion email on what activities to do and she thought I'd be a good host. I know I would be because I do everything as well as I can. But at the same time, I don't want to be in charge of something like that right now because I own rental properties. I'm a loan originator so that means being available on the weekends and the weekday, at night. So, I've got a lot of different things already pulling at me and I want to slip into a group and enjoy it instead of run it.

When you sign up for events, it doesn't tell you who's going to be there except for the host. And on the one side, I appreciate that because people might be prone to pre-judge. But on the flip side, maybe a little bit more transparency would be cool because if I'm interested in this event and there are other 20 or 30-year olds going, even if it might be a two-hour drive total that night, it might be worth it.

Also, Events and Adventures can create different servers in Discord and invite people to it. You can have as many text or voice channels as you want. It would be a cool way to see how many people are in this group because it will show you everybody who's in the server. It shows how active and how big the group is and it would make it easier for people to connect both inside and outside the group or the events. There are some virtual events, so you can stream yourself right there or your screen. It'd be a cool communication tool for both people individually and posts to get people to sign up and send information a lot more fluidly between people.
