We met at a brewery on my first event and I was a little anxious but excited. It was more of a meet and greet than anything else. We played beer pong and board games. As you're going through the sign-up process, the people who are going through the sales process emphasize that this is a meet-up group for people who happen to be single. They're very open about it that you're gonna see people from mid-twenties up to late-fifties and early sixties. So they've got a huge range. Some of these meet-ups are intimate with five to six people and some have 30 people.
The one that I went to at this particular time was a bigger group and there was no emphasis on the dating aspect. If I saw somebody that I would want to approach for something other than friendship, that was on me. Events and Adventures is not doing any matchmaking and introductions. You are there to have a good time and everybody just happens to be single. I appreciate that the sales staff gave me that heads-up beforehand. It has helped me throughout my process. I feel satisfied with the membership that I've gotten. By this point, I’ve gone to somewhere between 10 and 20 events. I try to go at least once a week.
I haven't been to any trips but we did a cookout this weekend. We've been to bars and a comedy show. I haven't gotten to nature walks but E&A have them available. They have a mimosa day and a Cinco de Mayo event that apparently wasn't that great but people got their money back. It's a lot of different things. This weekend, they're heading up to cabins in Alabama. You pay additional for everything that you've done. 300 bucks get you a cabin for two nights out in Alabama. And in the middle of the whole thing, they're doing hikes, a marshmallow roast and a few other things. So it's more elaborate. Events and Adventures has trips to Vietnam, Spain, Portugal and Peru. They've been to Mexico. It’s a cool concept. I like it. My favorite night was probably the night that we went to this bar, Moondogs. We ended up doing karaoke and we played billiards. We had a little bit too much of a good time with the alcohol. It was a memorable thing.
If you're a busy professional as I am and you just want things to go do on a Friday night or any day of the week where you don't have to plan it, E&A is right up your alley. That's the best thing about it. You find something that is near you or that you're interested in and you don't have to do a darn thing. Last week, we went out and did brews and battles. It's a bar geared towards gamers and E&A rented a private room for us. They had two big screen TVs with Nintendo Switches, PS3 and Xboxes. You pick a couple of multiplayer games and just battle it out. And that was a good time.

My first event with E&A was a winter hike in December and I was pretty apprehensive about it at first. But everything was fine. We hiked around the lake and visited with people as we went. I've been part of the program for four years now and I do anywhere from 3 to 12 events a month. I do a lot of the dining, the hiking, and the biking ones. I've been to Wildman campout, the Memorial weekend campouts, and the New Year’s Eve gatherings. I've also done a ski trips to Whistler and to Big Sky. I went to a trapeze thing as well and I did the trivia nights, bingo nights, and music nights. Even had my own band that I played in at one of the events.
My favorite so far is the whitewater rafting at Wildman which we did on a whole weekend over Labor Day weekend. We had a choice of cabin or tenting, and we met up with the Chicago club as well. We had a day of zip-lining and the whitewater rafting with the seven-person raft. It was a whole day at a different area than where we were staying and we all drove half hour to the event. Then the next day was the solo kayaking down a different river and that was right at the campsite. Events & Adventure is not for everyone because of the money involved and you have to be willing to put yourself out there. So if you're too much of an introvert, it can be overwhelming. But it has filled the void since COVID. I went from working in an office to remote, and it fills the need for people interaction for me. It has complimented my life well, too.

The pink moon hike was nice. I met some of the people from previous events and some were new people. It was a nice mix of getting to know new people and getting exercise. I like to walk and that was a new trail for me to go on. It had nice views of the water. The cost is steep, especially ‘cause I joined as a lifetime member. They said, "You sign up now or you're not gonna get the kicker discount." It's little over four grand. But it's free to cancel without any penalty. Also, the quality of the events at E&A is better and sometimes there's extra value in it. They would arrange things with the restaurant to give free appetizers.
However, there are some members that are oblivious. They don't wanna meet new people and they're in a clique. At one of the events that was at a billiard space, there were four people that wanted to hog up the table that E&A reserved. They wouldn't open up the table for other E&A members to get into one of the two tables that were available.

I love Events & Adventures. The events that I have been part of have been well-organized. I kept the first event very simple. I did some dumplings at one of the local restaurants in Dallas and it was fantastic. I had a blast with the group of ladies that I sat with. I also did the safari park. It was amazing because it was a different type of experience. It was hands-on, touching and feeding animals. It pains me when I see people online saying Events & Adventures is so expensive. But in order for them to create these tours, somebody has to pay for it. If you remove the money from the equation and go with a different mindset, it is amazing what you get out of it. It's nice for me to get out of the house, not have to talk to a teenager, and talk to people who I can relate to.

I've been to 15 events with Events & Adventures and I like the group activities. They have activities every day. The ones I've been to were like big parties. One of my favorites was a pizza-making class but I was interacting with other people. That was fun and we got to eat it and try a sample then. It was awesome. I would do that again if they had it. I have not planned a trip because they're too expensive. I do have an event at some point in June. The types of events depend on who the event manager is that's local. I have a new event manager, and the events the past few months have been not really my thing. I have made some new friends, but they don't talk to me on a daily basis. They talk to me when I'm in an event, and there is a Facebook page that we can chat in.
The events are not as accessible as I wish they were, which means it’s hard for me to go to events. It would be better if things were not in Downtown Boston. The trains are not like in New York City where you can go every way. You can only go one way in Boston. And unless you live in Boston, it's expensive. A lot of people live outside of the city because no one can afford to live in Boston. I wish there was a better carpool feature, especially since I don't drive. I do have people that live relatively close to me, but they're not always available.
Overall, I like Events & Adventures and I enjoy the events when I go to them, but they're difficult to get to. It’d be nice if the trips were more accessible too and not as expensive. They have some local ones, but I have a seeing eye dog. A couple of the locations don't allow seeing eye dogs, which is illegal. If it's a private house, there's nothing I can do. Restaurants can't say anything.
The price is a little bit on the high side, and I don't like that they force you to either pay outright on the credit card, and if you can't do that, then they make you pay over time which is more expensive in the long run. Their website is very poorly done and it's definitely accessible, and they don't have an app. I can't use the website on my phone. I have to be on a computer to book something. So, I have to wait until I get home or get to a spot where I can get to my laptop. Overall, it’s worth it because I have met people that I wouldn't have met otherwise, but Events & Adventures as a company has some things that they got to fix.

With Events and Adventures, I like being able to have a variety of social activities to attend that I wouldn't normally do on my own. I had a good time and enjoyed myself on my first event. I've been to three events so far, and my favorite one is kayaking. It was only about 30 minutes travel. I had to travel like an hour to get to the other two events. The first one was salsa dancing at a brewery. It was a little over an hour away, but I had a lot of fun at that. The second one was the meet your host and learn more like the new member thing. The venue for that was not nice at all. The meeting itself was fine, and then I stayed for a little bit longer for the next event where everybody was invited, but I would not go back to that location.
As far as the payments, I wish that there was an option to pay it monthly instead of all in one lump sum. When I click on an event on their website, it takes me to the details and then there's a button you can push that says "sign up," and it seems like it takes you through a couple of times before you can sign up for it. So, you have to go through the same screen three times to be able to sign up. Then when you go back to the calendar, it starts you from the beginning again, not where you left off. It'd be nice to go back to what I was looking at previously. It'd be really nice if they had an app instead of having to use the website on my phone. That would be more user-friendly for phone use.

I've gone to a dozen events and trips and the pool party was my favorite. I like the activity and people are like no pressure and fun. Also, they do volleyball every Wednesday, we've done Bingo, and we go to live music events and a comedy show that was super interactive. Everything's been pretty good.

I usually do about four to five a month. I really like the karaoke nights that they do and the different game nights that they do every month too. Also, the murder mysteries are always a lot of fun.

For the most part, most members of E&A are decent people to hang out with. But every once in a while, you run into a person that is not so good. But E&A does their best to weed those people out. There are a lot of cool events that go on. I liked playing volleyball and there was also baseball that we did. I've had a good experience.

Events & Adventures provides a lot of different experiences and opportunities to do different things and make new friends and connections. I'm a very social person so I am excited, eager and ready to meet new people. The first event was at a local brewery type place and it was very casual. When I got there, the host was wonderful and very welcoming. I had a great time throughout the whole extent of it.
I do a lot of events each month and I'm going to the memorial weekend trip that's coming up. It's a getaway in Vermont and there's gonna be some hiking and a boat ride. Breakfast and dinner are included. There's also a special theme night. I've gone to events such as line dancing, salsa dancing, special dinners out, drag bingo, karaoke, paint night, game night and 80's prom night. I love to dance so I really like the line dancing and the dance party event. Thru Events & Adventures, I've had a wonderful experience connecting with new people and forming great connections and lifelong friendships. I've formed some of my closest friends and it's been only three months. We have done activities outside the group together and we're planning a cruise in the fall.

I signed up in February and I've been going to one or two events every week. There's a different experience each time but I've had fun at all of them. We went up to Duvall to see the alpacas. We went out bowling too. I'm planning on going to the Events & Adventures Memorial Day camping trip. You leave on Friday then you come back on Monday. I've made a couple of guy friends and I hang out with them or talk to them about what Events & Adventures they're planning on going to and meet up with them there.
Some of their staff would get ahold of me to make sure I was going to an event but some of them don't do that. Maybe that's because some of them are free to go to. The ones I pay to go to, it's $50 for the event. When we went for bowling, I paid $25. I also paid for the shoes and any food and drinks. They let you know to bring a card or cash for food and drinks. They set up all the coordination and if something isn't done, they don't refund your money, but they credit to other events which I’ve been able to use.
Sometimes they'll have a list of 10 people and two or three won't show up. If you had an emergency and didn't show up, they're not gonna ridicule you. They let you know if it's credit reimbursing or they will not reimburse you. They have good communication on the website. There's a whole thing to read through for what to expect and what to bring. They'll tell you like how your parents did when you were kids. Even for parking, they would say, “The parking is gonna be challenging, but here's parkwhiz.com. Go to there, and it'll help you find a parking spot.” That way, you're prepared. If you wanna go on a weekend camping trip or vacations, those are spendy. If you wanna go to Italy or France, they'll help set it up so you can go by yourself and meet all kinds of people that are interested in going on vacation. They can go easier on their prices though.

Events & Adventures' trip to Telluride was my favorite. It was 14 people. And what they do is rent a giant house on Airbnb. I enjoy myself and I've created a good group of friends in the club despite their lack of management. Every month, they issue a calendar and it has events listed on different days of the month. Most of the time, all of the copies that are on the website is copy and paste. And the information is wildly inaccurate a lot of the times. You get out of it what you put in, but you have to read between the lines and do your own research about where things are and how they're going to be set up because the information can be inaccurate.

I did a dinner at an Italian place, Valentine's Day get-together at a bar and a racing night at a Go-Kart track. For the Valentine's Day event, it was subpar food for a Valentine's get-together. They had hotdogs and Sloppy Joes. There was some popular band and the bar was packed that you couldn't even move.

I was interested in the amazing events that they talked about after I signed up with Josh. There was a hiccup in the beginning though. It was something with one of the members. They were being very untruthful. But there is a bunch of people that care to be able to push me through to stay. I've been making a lot of great and close friends. I like the chili cookout. It was at one of the team members’ house in the state. It was a great turnout. I just went to an event last night and it was amazing. We went to a show and saw a band. It was 80s and 90s music. The hostess is a great friend of mine. We danced all night. The trips with Events & Adventures are so expensive though.

My first event with Events and Adventures was good starter. It was a new members meet and greet which rolled right into fun board games. Over the course I've been with them, I've done five events a month. I've been on one trip and the trips are a little harder because of how the scheduling has to go for it. The trips always come out a year ahead of time. But with my scheduling, I can't ever plan that far ahead with my PTO. Also, the trips get filled so fast to the point where you're on a big waiting list sometimes. Once you're committed, it's very hard to get out of the commitment so you don't wanna sign up until you know you're absolutely ready to do the trip. But they seem to have ways to work with you and it's very good from what I had when I did the one trip. It's also very well-coordinated.
Events & Adventures is a very good social gathering place for single people to hang out and do things with other single people that they wouldn't normally do on their own. I've come into it as a person looking to meet other people, network, and socialize. I had an interview with the person who led this particular branch at the time. She laid it to me straight. But I have heard stories of some people who came in and they thought it was something totally different than what the recruiter played it to them. Everybody says that they were told something different by their recruiter when they tried to apply and everybody pays a different amount. There are no two people who said that they paid the same fee to get into the club.

Usually, E&A people don't meet up at the specified meeting location they have on the event calendar, but that's more or less because somebody else picked their spot and they decided that that was not convenient. My first event was a holiday train in Christmas Village at the Union Depot and that was fun. I usually try to do about two a week and so far, I've been to about 40 events. I did the Walk on the Wild Side, Papa Rocks, Coffee walk, bars, and brews. I also tried some of the better board game nights. My experiences have been a hit-and-miss but the people are all right.

I was searching on the internet about stuff to do and an ad popped up from Events & Adventures. And I did a little bit more research on them and was interested in everything that they do as far as going to trips, doing fun things, going to bars, and experiencing new stuff like skydiving, frisbee golf. I decided to sign up for it because it's pretty much just people like me that go out but don't know what to do.
The first event I went to was the New Year's Eve event in 2024 and I felt nervous. But once I broke out of my own shell, it was not that bad. I was meeting new people, having a good experience, and having a good time. I've been to seven to eight events so far and every time I go to one of these events, I'm always having a blast. If you're looking lost and you don't know what to do outside of home and you're wanting to go find new stuff with new people that are in the same position as you, go try out Events & Adventures.

My daughter knew a young man who was doing Events & Adventures, and that was how we were in it. On our first trips, we were his guests. Kenya was my favorite trip. I liked the trip because I saw animals in their natural habitat. The hot air balloon ride across the Serengeti was life-changing for me. I will not go to a zoo after seeing the animals in their natural habitat. The excursion took 11 days. Through Events & Adventures, I've been to Kenya, Morocco, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Galapagos, Easter Island, Vietnam, Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti, Moorea, and Croatia. Southern Italy and Greece are coming up in the middle of May and the first part of June.
I like that everyone is accepted. I'm 80 years old. I'm the oldest one, I think, that travels with Events & Adventures. Most of them are in their 40s, 50s, and 60s. I don't like traveling with old people that's why I travel with my daughter, who's 47, with this group. We've traveled so much that we've become travel friends and we look forward to seeing our travel friends on another Events & Adventures trip.
One thing that my daughter and I do not like is they do not leave us in a resort long enough. One night is not long enough. Two nights is much preferable. The negative part about the Kenya trip is we spent the majority of our time in a safari van, and it was hours traveling from one resort to the next, and we discovered that on the last resort, we saw all the animals we had seen on the first four resorts, so that was unnecessary. The food has usually been very good. We just did not care for Morocco. I don't know if it's just Moroccan cooking or where they took us, but most of the places they take us is very good.
We have switched from the complete package to land only. I live in Hudson Valley, New York. My daughter lives in New Hampshire and for us on the East Coast, it's so much easier to fly to certain places than to meet up with the group in Los Angeles or Dallas or wherever they meet up. If they meet up on the East Coast, that's fine but it seems like most of the initial flights are taken from the Midwest to the western part of the United States.
The hotels have been very nice. They seem to be clean. We were in a hostel in Galapagos, but that could not be helped because Galapagos doesn't encourage a lot of tourists anyway because of the animals. Everything about Easter Island was fabulous. Our native hosts were very good. The food was delicious. The resort Hotel was beautiful and well-located. The island was small so we took an AT vehicle around it on our own, and that was really great. I would like to have opportunities to do hot air balloons in more countries. I've been on three in foreign countries and two in the United States. One in Mojave and one in San Diego, which was on my own. Mojave was through the Denver group. There was one across Morocco, and one in Kenya, too.
The E&A host is with us for the trip. They've been very nice, very thorough, and very polite. Eric was the only one that is an extreme athlete, and he took us up to two hikes that most of us could not do. He also discouraged us from doing a night boat trip. Some of our travel mates took that trip purposely to do that, and he made every excuse in the world not to. We found out that we should have been persistent and said, “No. It's scheduled. We're going. We don't care what your objections are. We're going.” We didn't, and we've all regretted that. Eric is a nice person but he runs it like the military, and he's an extreme athlete and is very verbal about that. I have the feeling that, “Why weren't the rest of the extreme athletes like him?” Now, I take trekking poles. I'm just slower, but I do everything that everybody else does.
One of the other things I would like to comment on is our trip to Italy is only four days between Italy and Greece. My daughter and I chose to do it, but we wish their trips were at least 3 to 4 weeks apart. I'm 80 and my goal in life is to travel the world and do high adventure with my daughter. We love to travel. We're great travel mates. It's nice to have everything planned for us. I know E&A tries to pack each trip as full as it can be. One of the things my travel mates and I would like is when we're in a place that has great shopping, it doesn't have to be high-end. It doesn't have to be focused on tourists, but artisans and things that we can't get in the United States, because those craft people aren't in the United States. We would like to have more time to be able to do that, and we would like more information where these are.
For example, in Santiago, Chile, there is a historical park. In the back of the park is a large hacienda under type complex. Behind that complex, attached to it, but out in the open air, with little tarps over each artisan's booth are these phenomenal craft people. They have things from glass, jewelry, wood, plants, and all kinds of things. We had so much fun spending money there and talking to the artisans. We got to meet the people who made their products. In one of those trips, they took us to a huge pearl store. It was like a warehouse but it was beautifully presented in jewelry cases. I don't know that we were there an hour. If you're gonna buy pearls, you need more than an hour. They had pink, yellow, white, black pearls and every color you could think of. They were high quality. I just didn't have a chance to buy any. They said, “We gotta go. Gotta go.” So, that was a bummer.
Majority of our travel mates are female, but there are males who like to shop too. And on the trips, sometimes, we'll have two or three males. Sometimes we'll have eight or nine males on a trip. It depends on the trip. Most of us who travel a lot have become friends, and so we tell each other which trips we're gonna be on. Some of our travel mates book those trips because we want to be together.
E&A is so difficult for me to traverse. I can never seem to get in to the trips I'm going on or the trips that are coming up. My daughter does it and she has trouble. Somebody needs to program their connections to the internet more people-friendly. They're very difficult. My daughter and I aren't the only ones who complain about that. I feel that their Facebook page and their website should have a total separate area for the club and a separate area that's easy to access for the travel.
We are not members of the club because there's no club near us. We're not interested in being members of the club, so that worked out very well for us. We just travel. I would like to access just the travel section. Curtis put up a very nice list of things that he thought were important for our Italy trip. That's the first time I've seen that. That was through our personal email, and he had 1 through 12 listed. We knew most of the way ahead of time because we've been traveling so much, but for anybody who is new to it, that would be very useful. And that was the first time I've seen that type of list deliberately sent to all of us that are going to Italy, and that was very helpful.

I was a little nervous on my first event with Events & Adventures. I had that uncomfortable feeling that I didn't know many people in the social club. But during the event, I got more comfortable. Illyana was cool. I was stuck with her and then one other female that wasn't a part of the group who just was there. The first event was a bachata dance class. First, I got lost. So, that was fun. I was at a separate club with everybody else. I thought the group that I was supposed to be with was the group I started talking to and they were not. They had no clue who I was and that was weird. Then, Illyana, the host that day, texted me and found me. She was like, "Oh, you're at the club right across from us on the other side of the street." She came and grabbed me, and then, from there, the class started almost immediately. We jumped straight into dancing, learning the basic steps, and then we did a group dancing.
I've attended three events. I signed up for six. The first one was the bachata. The second one was the meet and greet. It's called Speakeasy club. I didn't really enjoy that one at all. It's not that it wasn't cool. It's just we were all super awkward. There was nothing to do. I like to do things when I go out and we were all just sitting there, which is not bad in itself, but that's not what I planned to do. The last one I went to was this past Wednesday. It was skating/pickleball spot. It was cool but there were only four of us who showed up and there were 12 of us that signed up for the event. So, that was a bummer. Overall, I wouldn't recommend somebody to join Events & Adventures if they didn't really want to because it is a lot of upfront expense. I'm not overly upset because I have met people. That was the initial goal.

My very first event with Events & Adventures was a trivia event. I felt a little bit anxious because I didn't know anybody going there, and it was gonna be all new. The people were reasonably welcoming, so I found my way. I felt less anxious later on as I got more comfortable. I have not gone on any of their trips. I try to do a minimum of one event a week. I do about 10 events a month. Wallyball is a very regular one for me. Wallyball is like volleyball being played on a racquetball court where there are walls in the way. You can play off the walls. The walls also, interestingly, don't move, which can be a problem if you don't take that into account.
I love the Archery Dodgeball. I tend to go to more of the activity ones. I went to one last month. It was the flag kickball one. I tend to be more inclined to do anything where you get to run around. Pickleball is something I signed up for. It looks like Dave & Buster's. I signed up for the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame visit for April. I will also sign up for the dinners, usually, just because I'm pro eating. The comedy club ones are also events that I sign up for usually. Although I didn't sign up for the one in April for some reason.
My favorite one is Hungry Hippos. We get a bunch of people on an ice rink. There are these colorful balls placed all over the ice rink, and we take one of our teammates, put them on an inner tube with a rope attached to them, slide them out on the inner tube towards the center. They have a little laundry basket which they use as the hippo mouth, and they try to gobble up as many of the balls as possible while we drag them back from the center and back to our corner. Then we send them out again. They try to use their laundry basket to pick up as many balls as possible. And by the time the time's up or all the balls are gobbled up, we see what we gobbled up.
Overall, the reason that I joined was to make sure I got out of the house more because I tend to be a little bit introverted and reclusive. So, if there isn't something to get me out of the house, I will not get out of the house. I did hope to meet somebody in terms of a dating situation but I came to the conclusion that people join Events & Adventures for different reasons. Not 100% of them join with the intention of dating people. It was successful in getting me out of the house, which was the primary goal.

When I unexpectedly became single, I was looking for something to do with people. I would like to be able to get out of my house and do things. E&A offers fun things and I've met some great people. Going to my first event at E&A was comfortable. It was a play at the Guthrie, the theater. It was good. The people were friendly, too. I also went to pickleball and Whirlyball and there were wine club events and some dinners, too.

I went on a kayaking trip down the Saint Croix River on my first event and it was cool and a lot of fun. There was a ropes course in Taylors Falls. At first, I was a little intimidated because there were 40 people and I didn't know what was going on. I didn't know how to act. But after going to a couple of events, there was just a bunch of people hanging out. I’ve attended probably 20 events so far including the Minnesota State Fair. I went rock climbing, a kayaking trip, a Fourth of July party and a symphony. We went out to eat a couple of times and did a sling class. Events & Adventures is overpriced but you're gonna find lots of things to do with lots of different people.

I wanted to meet some new people. I decided to try Events & Adventures out but then I was not really happy with it because not many younger people did it. So, I feel like it wasn't being useful about meeting the correct age groups. Also, there are not a lot of active events, and a lot of them are happy hour. I was hoping to do more activities versus just going to happy hour. I can go out to happy hour whenever I want with my friends. A lot of the people who I met were much older. A lot of it was false advertisement. So, I decided to cancel my membership. You're supposed to meet people in their 20s to 30s and 40s, and I was not meeting that age range. I was a part of it for almost a year and a half.
As far as the activities, there was a zip lining event that was a lot of fun. It involved going to an indoor warehouse and you're essentially like a circus person jumping on a rope and you're being released in there. There are some events, but it's not enough. A lot of them are like Dungeons & Dragons, which is fine. It's just not my area. I like to see musical events and meet really fun people who are around my same age. They could make the actual advertisement true and say you're meeting a ton of people who are in their 50s and older, and a lot of the events are happy hours and going out for drinks. I live in Minneapolis so I can do a lot of those things for free. I should not have to pay to go out to do events like that.

I want to meet people a bit more organically. I signed up with Events & Adventures. I've just started and I've only been to four events. The first event was a hiking, and it was still cold out. There was only three of us that went. So, I felt like it was a small group but at the same time, it was two guys. So I thought, "Well, my chances are gonna be pretty good if this is what it's gonna be like in the future." The second one was a book club. There were more women, and I really was not interested in the men that went. So, I probably will not go to another book club. The third one was at the Shedd Aquarium. That was really nice. That was a much larger group. However, it was also very difficult for us to all stay together and meet people because everybody was everywhere.
The last one was a hippo game event and that was a lot of fun. There was a game when we were younger called Hungry Hippo. And now what they're doing is that you play it live where you are the hippo. You play it on an ice rink and you're on inflatable. Your team pushes you into the middle of the ice rink where there's a bunch of balls, and you have a basket where you grab balls with. Then they drag you back with a rope. The people that were there were pretty nice.
Right now, I'm in a funny place because I'm not drinking right now. I'm on some medication. There were a lot of events that involve drinking. Also, there were some things that I was interested in, but I had questions about. They're doing something new where they're doing an event for 20-year-olds, an event for 30-year-olds, and an event for 40-year-olds. I'm in my 40s but I was more interested in the 20, 30-year-old events.
One event for the 40-year-olds was an art viewing kind of thing, which is great, but the 20-year-olds are gonna go at a trampoline place. They're gonna be doing a little bit more active stuff. The 30-year-olds were doing something that was really cool, too. Overall, I just thought that theirs was just a little more exciting. I'm not super dissatisfied, but I don't think that I'm gonna be successful at what I was intending for it to be. I was intending for it to be more for dating and it really will become more socializing.
Events & Adventures would be really good for somebody who's single and lonely, to get out of the house and go do something. That's a fantastic way of doing it. I feel like it's safe. It's secure. I don't know that I would recommend it for dating. I haven't talked to anybody who has been successful so far. I've only been to four events, and I do feel like the people that have been going are using it for more social stuff, which is fine. I do wish that I would have known what the ratio was of men to women or in the age range that I was looking for. I did not ask those type of questions, which I probably should have.

Scam. Scam. Scam. Super shady business practices... I saw a digital ad for Events & Adventures on my Facebook feed, and I was curious because the marketing materials looked really great, so I signed up for an "interview." The hour long Zoom meeting I went to with one of their representatives was one really long sales pitch, and highly manipulative.
What to Expect in Your "Interview" - Over the course of the hour, they will continually ask you to identify things that are important to you in terms of dating, socializing and activities, and then they will explain to you how E&A Adventures is the perfect fit for exactly what you are looking for in a fun and exclusive membership club. It will seem like they'll say anything to get you to sign up and that it's too good to be true. They will use high pressure sales tactics at the end of the meeting to try to force you to commit to an expensive one or two year contract right there in the Zoom meeting, based on vague information about the membership communicated orally (nothing in writing is offered).
The answers I was given for specific questions I asked in the "interview" felt deliberately vague. For example, I pointed out a logical fallacy - If you commit to a two year contract, and then begin a romantic relationship with someone nine months in, you can't cancel your paid membership, but you also would no longer meet the criteria to be a member because you are no longer single. The sales rep brushed off my point with a vague answer about how alot of marriage engagements last as long as three years and technically those people are still single.
I also asked about the diversity and demographics of their membership. I was told that the diversity of the membership in my area "looks like Chicago," even though the sales rep was in South Florida and said she had only been to Chicago one time. She also said that I'm in the "sweet spot" center of the age range for members at 45 years old, and that the gender ratio for the membership is 50%/50%. They painted a rosy picture of a demographic catered specifically to me, giving no actual evidence, facts or statistics.
The activities calendar I was showed in the meeting included no pricing information for events. I asked for an estimate of additional costs beyond the membership fees. I was told that other out of pocket costs would include parking, event tickets, and food/beverages, but given no estimated dollar amount. Which begs the question, what does the $3,000-4,000 that I would be paying (broken down into a high monthly fee) actually cover?
I told the sales rep that I needed to sleep on it and couldn't commit to a membership at that moment. The representative then proceeded to use bullying, guilt tripping, creating a sense of urgency and other manipulative tactics to try to persuade me to sign up right then and there. (I think they are trained to take advantage of the emotions people feel when speaking about personal things like dating, divorce, family and socializing, for sales purposes). The rep also later sent one of the most unprofessional emails I've ever seen requesting personal information like a copy of my Driver's License or Passport and the last four digits of my SS#. I was never shown a contract or any contract language, and I never received any details about a "background check."
I sent the sales rep an email response letting her know that I wouldn't be moving forward with a membership because of the negative reviews and information I found on the Better Business Bureau's website. I was sent this short email back (the typos are real!) - "You might want to look at Google comments and Consumer Affairs where to comments are verified, I think you will see a big difference. We would never be around for 37 years!"
I feel very lucky to have taken a beat and done my due diligence before signing anything with E&A. Comments on the BBB's website were particularly helpful. It seems that people who actually signed the contract and tried to use the service have had even worse experiences including financial harm and terrible experiences at their "events." My pre-sign up experience checks out with the other complaints I've read. My Advice - Run, don't walk away from this company. Do not sign any contracts or give them any form of payment. Save yourself the hassle and seek out other options.

Events and Adventures seems really expensive. The company has a lot of room for improvement, especially with the mobile website. It's not good. I was told that they're working on an app, but it hasn't been completed yet. As far as events, I've been to about 12 events and I was very nervous on my first one but I was a little excited, too. We went ice fishing up on one of the reservoirs up in the Rocky Mountains. That was really interesting because it was a small group of people. So, we got to know each other well, and it was something that none of us had ever done. I did catch a fish and that was really exciting. I was the first person to catch a fish, and it was really fun and interesting. What I caught was a rare fish.
We had this radar thing to help see the fish. But unfortunately, we started off way too late in the day. So, we didn't get there until about 11:00. And by then, we thought the fish were taking a lunch break because we weren't catching a whole lot of fish. If we had showed up at our normal start time, we would have caught a lot more. It was a catch-and-release guided trip. We were in a marina and we were off one of the docks. It was 35 feet deep where we were sitting above. They popped up a little tent so we wouldn't freeze to death and they drilled a hole down through the ice. It was really thick ice. We were just sitting on that and we had our own hole that we had a fishing line through. Everyone was able to catch fish. We threw the fish we caught back

I'm an introvert so it was a little nerve-wracking for me to be in a big group of new people when I attended my first event with E&A. I also wished the hosts were a little bit more prone to introduce new people to existing members. But otherwise, I had a good experience. So far, I haven't been on any trips yet, but I attend eight events a month. The sailing was pretty fun and it was interesting to learn how the boat worked. But it was a very far drive for me. It was down in Key Biscayne and I'm based in Palm Beach County. But if they held it in a more central location, I would do it again. The fencing event was a lot of fun, too and I go to bowling every month.
Making new friends has been a little slow going, but I recognize that developing relationships with people takes time. I'm not in contact with these people outside of events yet, but I see the potential for that. The membership fee is very reasonable but the events the last couple of months have been a little light. They're going through a transition with a new event manager. Also, I've submitted feedback for several events, including complaints about people bringing their children to events and nobody's even acknowledged it.

Whoever is doing the event, their information is provided on the website. So if you have any questions, you can call and ask. I called them because we had some bad weather down here and I had to drive quite a way. When I got there, they had a sign on the table so you knew where to go. They were very friendly. I've done three events and they were all pretty good to me. I'm not anti-social, but I'm not super social. They were in my wheelhouse. I didn't feel as awkward as I thought I was gonna feel. Going to the events made it really easy to talk to other people. I don't get out of the house very much because I work all the time. So being able to get out and find common ground with other people is nice. I used the website but it would be a lot easier if it was an app. With the website, I tend to have to sign in every single time and then scroll through the screen.

Events & Adventures was a great way to get out and meet people. I have made a lot of friends and it's been a great experience. I've enjoyed the two-stepping, which is probably one of my favorite events. The Halloween party was also one of my favorite events. It was a lot of fun. The cost is manageable though I would have loved to see more free events. Most of the events have a cost past your monthly dues. Recently, I had a lot of experiences with a particular member, and some stalking and harassment. It was not handled very appropriately so I haven't been super happy lately.
I had been told by multiple people that this particular member had been an issue in the past with other women and because Events & Adventures didn't have it in writing, they weren't able to do anything and I had let it go for a while. It got to the point where I couldn't let it go anymore so I wrote a letter, and they said they would take care of it. All they’ve done is suspend his account for three months. While that makes it more comfortable for me now, it doesn't make it comfortable moving in the future when he comes back when his account is no longer suspended. In the beginning, I would have referred everybody I knew. I would have told everybody that this is a great thing and to sign up. But when it comes down to women and their safety, maybe that's not being taken seriously. But I am moving again soon so I'm excited to see what the other city is gonna be like.

But since then, I've been to about 30 to 40 events and I have made a few new friends who I usually talk to when I see them. I liked the Immersive Gamebox in Natick and I signed up for one event on the 15th. I also wait-listed for another event but there were events that I have not done primarily because of the price. I also wish they made some events, like the laser tag and indoor volleyball, a little bit longer. The last event I did involved pushing and curling stones across the table. We were broken into groups and I was playing with two other people, just chatting. It was a pretty low-key event.

I've went to around six events. Hanging out with the professionals that night was pretty fun. We just all sat around, talked, had fun, and got a drink or two in. Sometimes they got a pool hall, hits them, and knocks them all around. Those are also fun. The second one that I enjoyed the most as well was the bowling nights. Those were pretty fun as well.
At first, I got a little bit worried because almost everyone I met were couples. But I did found a good majority of singles. So that was awesome. I was starting to get some doubt until I actually found someone. I'm hoping this one will become a significant other. We first met at the bowling event and then we went to a Renaissance fair outside of the Events & Adventures. I'm looking forward to the party bus event which is pretty awesome, and I was told that sometime around April, they will do skydiving. I'm looking forward to a lot of the future events. I'm a tennis player and I've never played pickleball before. I've only played it in the club and that's been a blast. E&A has doubled the amount that they've offered it since I first went. I had a great time at the New Year's party. It was particularly fun. My favorites include whatever is offered on Friday night. It's something near downtown or somewhere populated most of the time on Friday night or where the party can continue after the event proper. The session was legit but I drove an hour and a half to play a seven-minute game. They had a go kart track, bowling and a bunch of stuff but they set up a one-game session for laser tag and that's it? People really drive out of their way. There was someone that was coming from further away from me. What was the point of that? If it was like 45 minutes to an hour, maybe it would've been worth it. First off, I didn't sign up for E&A so I can't speak to what it's like once you're in. My issue is with the sales experience. You are told that you are interviewing for a "private club" by "invite only." They ask you a lot of questions about yourself and it's a little like a first date. I don't think it's an accident that they paired me with an attractive woman who claimed she was also a member of the club for about a year. They keep asking leading questions like "What do you think you would get out of this" and "What are you looking for with E&A?" They ask what problems you have had with other dating avenues like apps.
At the end, it's a high-pressure sales pitch. They want you to sign up at that moment. They can only give you a discount if you sign up right then, putting pressure on you to not analyze the decision to drop $2400 on something you may or may not use. It penalizes people who want to think about a major purchase before they pull the trigger. You cannot try even one event before purchasing.
You cannot cancel and get a partial refund back. Once you sign up, you are committed to the full $2400 whether you get something out of it or not, whether the events are available for you or not, whether the people are in your age range or vibe or not. If you have to lock people into spending that much cash (which for most people is significant investment) whether they are happy with your service or not, then your business model is flawed and dishonest. This whole experience is like getting a sales pitch to buy a timeshare, except you can't even see what you're buying before you spend the money. No thanks.

I signed up for E&A last year in July 2023. I tried to attend 1-2 events but eventually they were cancelled due to some or other reason. Once it was due to nobody showing up and another time saying the organiser has been hurt from the previous event; not sure if any event actually takes place as for most of the events, not more than 1-2 attendees used to sign up.
Anyhow, I paid for 3 months without using any of the services and then I had to change my city due to relocation (laid off from job) where there was no E&A. It has been 6 months of me signing up and I have been reaching out to their resolutions team for the last 3 months to terminate my membership but they are not ready to do so. Instead I was even told by them “We are not cancelling and if you deny of the payments, the remaining charge will go on collections.”
I have never had such insecurity with any of the memberships previously. They have already deducted around 1000$ and still they are not ready to let me leave without having to pay the remaining 2100$. Even cancelling their membership after 3 days if signing the contract is not free. Everyone please beware of their membership.

I did volunteer work for my first event, which was a little bit different from some other people's first event. I only joined in November so I'm very relatively new. But I am planning to travel this year, whether that's gonna be E & A or my friends. It's up in the air right now. Events & Adventures is a little bit pricey depending on which package you choose. There are probably different pricing models that they can use to achieve the same results. They can do a rolling sort of event count with their price and there are probably different ways to make it more accessible to different socioeconomic classes. All the income questions and all this upfront cost that you had to do also felt very weird and awkward. But other than that, if you can afford the price, it's probably worth it. I can only speak to the Phoenix area and they seem to have a good group of people set up. E & A seems to be running a good amount of events that I like to go to.

I haven't been able to go some events with Events & Adventures because the system notification process is lacking. It would be much better if it was an app. I paid for a few things that I got an email on, but the email was last minute. Then someone texted saying, "Hey, why aren't you here?" I ended up paying a bunch of money for things that I never got to go to. If you're on the waitlist and you get put on the event, you should get a text message or some kind of notification to your phone. When I'm at work, I can't get my personal email accounts. So, it's difficult, especially for a lot of people in the DC area. I imagine it would be similar.
It's better to have some kind of reminder that's easy to access. And on the website, when you go to your calendar, it shows all of the events and not just the events that you signed up for. So, it's really confusing. You don't know what events you got into, and what events you didn't get into. It's kind of stressful. There should be an app that gives you notifications to your phone. When it says your calendar, it should be events that you signed up for, and then the whole calendar being something separate. I would not recommend this to someone.

At least I know where I'm losing my money at. I realized all the events are more of drinking. If you're done with partying and drinking, this is not the best event for you.
The first event was meeting the new members. The next one was at a sports bar in downtown Chandler, which was game, but most of the people drank. I used to go there and drink, so I wasn't sure if they sold food. But I was shocked with that, but I didn't stay, ordered my food to go, and everybody started drinking. And they had to go to another place. I didn't feel I wanted to be there. The last one was outdoor piano. It was in Scottsdale. It was fun. Games. But it was at a place where it was drinking, too. It was like a bar. Everybody still drank. So there is no fun, fun. After that, I lost interest.
The events are full of people who are divorced and tried to fill in the void. And how you fill that void is by drinking. I gave up from checking, and I'm like, “It's okay. We lose money to other places, but at least I know where I lost this money.” I reached out to Maggie who is the event manager here in Phoenix. I asked, “Is there another event?” The response wasn't good because she said, “I also work, so I'm just doing so much to do this.” That was when I felt like it was going off on me. It was over a text message. Someone asked me, and I said, “If you like to drink, join it. You're gonna have a bunch of people.” They are divorced, so what do they put in the void? It's a heartbreak and it takes a lot for people to be divorced. So, drinking becomes people's next best friend.

I had been an Events & Adventures member in Massachusetts years ago. I found out when I looked on their site that they had one in Atlanta. So, I joined. However, I have not been to one of their social events here because of the time and the geographical location of it. The event happened around the busiest time in Atlanta. From 4 to 8 o'clock, it's nothing but traffic getting from one spot to the next. I traveled with them in December. I went to New York with them. That was fine. The only thing that offset it was the host. She was a nice person, but she got agitated closer to the end of the event. Her tone changed. It's not that many minorities in the social group. Also, I recommended people to the Boston chapter and they were very dissatisfied. They have appeared to events where people have not been dressed appropriately on the boat cruise. And once again, the issue is there's not that many minorities. So, they haven't been active in that chapter.

I was anxious on my first event since I hadn't been around people in a while but that changed when I got there. I've been a member now for about three months and I do about 15 events a month. I like it when we have a big group dinner at different restaurants. There's no loud music and everybody's together. The experience with Events and Adventures has been good so far and I’ve made a couple of friends.

With Events & Adventures, the events are planned and you can participate in them and there are no expectations. It's just a group of people who get to go together and if you spark up a conversation and have a path forward, then you're able to maybe have a relationship. I signed up and arriving to my first event, I was full of anticipation and excitement. It was a walk through the woods to the bamboo forest. I've done six events, so far, and the groups of people are diverse. The majority of it is women and they're successful. It's not cheap to join so most of the people are educated or doing very well in their profession.

Reviewed Jan. 18, 2024
My first event with Events & Adventures was very welcoming and it felt a lot safer than trying to pursue any other way that wasn't as organized. I've participated in a lot of the events since then as I was trying to do something every week at one point in time last year. It really gave me the opportunity to learn the area and meet new people that weren't my friends and weren't broke. So far, I found acquaintances but I don't know if that's what I'm really looking for. I'm also trying to take one of my friends with me because you're allowed a friend to go with sometimes. I've even told my boss what I did when he asked me what I do on the weekends.
I was very much considering going on some of the trips that they were sponsoring and the only thing that was holding me back was I had a full calendar of everything else to do that I scheduled. And I really was always conflicted and I had no more time-off or vacation time. I also took a break because I knew the months of November and December were going to be hectic for me, and there was no problem with them. I then asked to be reinstated as of the end of this month and my time got added on at the end of contract. So, that was a very easy process and there were no questions asked. I still had to keep on paying but I wasn't paying for a month that I wasn't going to use.
For most of the time, you pay for the events upfront. And so, there's no need to bust out any money, unless you're buying something or you want to wear a $10 bill on you. But the safety was the most important part for me because I'm not aware of what is around. They have a bunch of contact people who make themselves available and there's always somebody that you have to contact, because if you don't show up to these things that you're signing up for, somebody's looking for you. That's cool because that's the kind of person I am. It almost feels like an adult field trip where you get to do whatever you want but you're accounted for.
As for the price, everybody wants it cheaper but I wasn't bothered by it because of the fact that I was looking for that type of person who can afford that too and not have to go through my friend list and see which one I could possibly not have to pay for. So, I could have the same membership for $10, but you're going to get that $10 quality. Then, everybody with $10 is potentially going to be there.
Aside from that, the reps at Events & Adventures are very personable. They also have a website which is used to schedule events. They prefer that you stick to that calendar and the schedule. That's how everything gets organized and how you're informed. You even see who is the organizer because they put a picture of them. The website is pretty easy to use, but I can see a lot of people having a problem with it who aren't tech-savvy. So, you have to have a little bit of a skill to maneuver through that website.

I was a member for 2 years and never got to attend a single event. The calendar I was shown during my interview was fictional, the real calendar I found on the app had only 2-3 listings, never a real calendar, and the listings were always full. When I called to ask for help, I was told it was because of my phone. However, I experienced the same problem on my laptop and tower. They never offered to help. They refused to terminate my membership. I found the company unresponsive and the service abysmal. They do not provide what they promise.

I felt safe attending my first event because it was organized and I knew there would be someone there to greet me. I knew what I signed up for and I didn't have to stress about making reservations or organizing it myself. I just needed to show up and that I wouldn't be alone. I've been in the group for several years now. I've made a few lifelong friends with this group. On average, I go once a month to an event and I've been on a few trips. One was to Europe, and then I've been on some day trips with them. When we went to Arizona, it was fun because we got to see animals and it was at Christmas time, so it was lit up and very festive.
It's been really easy to set up trips. Miggy is pretty accommodating. I like Events & Adventures' crafting events where you get to make things and take them home. The blown glass one was really cool. Joining Events & Adventures is a great way to meet people, especially if you work from home or are new to Arizona. It's a really great way to meet fun people. If you are looking for a significant other, it's a great way to meet people and not feel awkward.

I was really nervous before arriving to my first event with Events and Adventures. It took a couple of events to attend to feel comfortable, but eventually, it did get better. I haven't done any trips, but I'm a lifetime member. It's just been a couple of years, but I've been to over 50 events. The events get better and better. Tonight, we're going to play bocce ball, glow in the dark, at a park. I was like, “I’ve never done that before. Okay!” We're gonna go see Christmas lights and we're gonna try different restaurants. So, always, the next adventure is my favorite one.
I made solid people and good friends. Events and Adventures is an organization with human beings and volunteers. We just have to be really patient with hosts because they have a big responsibility. Sometimes, there's a big expectation, and they're doing the best they can because there's so many different needs according to how many people attend an event. The events I like are smaller and I get to pick them. When it gets fairly large, it gets a little overwhelming.
Right now, just because of life in general in the world, things are really expensive. So, you have to choose but I do like the idea of having the event credit. If you go to some events, you get a credit. When they add up and a big event comes like a New Year's Eve party, then you can apply your credit to that. I really like that part. That's helpful. The customer service is a hit or miss. It depends on who's helping and who isn't. We had some accounting issues and some things that have been hard to resolve, and with communication, I wouldn't give them the lowest rating, but I don't think I would give them the best either.
I'm really lucky that I came in during the pandemic price point. So, I made that choice to do the lifetime, and I don't regret it. I don't think I would be able to afford it now with the 2023 prices, but I came in when there was a deal. There were not a lot of events because everybody was doing social distancing. But now that I have time, I can come back later and enjoy it, and I'm glad that I made that investment.

I first joined Events & Adventures back in 2017. I was gonna join two years prior, but the cost drew me away at the time. But I had since changed my mind and it seemed such a fun group. I've always had a positive experience. I'm originally from the Phoenix, Arizona group. I joined them and started doing events with them, and it has been great. I was nervous at first, but I've grown since to be more comfortable. I've made new friends. I still keep in touch with them, just a vast amount of people all over the country either through the trips I've met them or just going to those states and attending events with them. Whenever I got paired with someone, he was always someone I end up getting along with.
I like having people to go out and do stuff with. A lot of my friends are not sociable. They just stay indoors. So, it's nice to be able to go on the calendar and see different events that are going on, see what would appeal to me, and meet people out there. Also, as I started doing more of the trips, I started enjoying those because I could meet new people and travel because I love traveling.
I've traveled to a lot of the other states chapters as well. I've spent time with, in addition to the Phoenix Group, the Seattle, Boston, DC, and Atlanta groups. I'm in Tampa right now. So, I'm doing events with them. Back in Arizona, I did the skydiving. That was amazing. I've done pub crawls, bar bikes, where everyone rode a bicycle and it's attached to a bar and everyone just pedals and drinks. I've done pickleball with groups. I did the Memorial Day weekend trip this year and it was in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia with the DC group. That was a lot of fun. We got to do white water rafting out there. The Antarctica one was amazing. I did the Egypt and Jordan one last year. That was surreal. And the Kenya one. They've all been amazing. I'm looking forward to doing more. I wanna do the New Zealand, Australia, and Japan ones, too, when I get a chance.

I've done several events per month since I was an Events & Adventures member in 2015. It has helped me to get to know the Chicago area. And I've made good friends. There are friends that I see when I go to events. I see new faces all the time, but there's a group of old-timers that we've been with the group for a while. We know each other and we have special memories together. That's true of some of the guys, or women that I'm close to. It has been a nice group of people. We're not all the same in terms of religious backgrounds, but we get along and have fun together. And after seeing the same people for a while, we have become close. I have not dated anybody from Events & Adventures, although there were some situations where I got close.
My first event was a bit scary in a sense that it was at Crosstown Pub in Naperville and the snow was deep. I got the car parked despite the snow. I got inside. There were a lot of people associated with our presence there. It seemed like people were friendly. And I talked to people right away. But it was still a bit of a strange thing, being a new experience. And the weather made me apprehensive. The attendance in general has gone down in that pub.
There was a get-together at a fondue place, The Melting Pot, where we all got together and there were tables of us. We could talk and prepare our dinner at the same time. That was my favorite event. But there were many things that I enjoyed. I went on my second trip to Mexico this past September, and I went several years ago to British Columbia for a weekend. Both trips were wonderful.
Some of the events have been tried and true events. They have been done again and again. And sometimes, the event coordinator wouldn't think about them closely enough and would miss some details. But they're appropriate events. I realized that not everybody would have the same taste. I've never wanted to do a bar crawl with anybody. And there are some things that are too adventurous for me. But I realized it's a good balance. It is an incredible thing that every month there's an event or two per day. It's amazing that they manage that number of events on a calendar. I have made recommendations. But there are people I know that are not an overly good fit. There has to be a special kind of requirement in terms of them having income, and being old enough. And there are some people that are too old and feel like they want somebody more older.
Around the pandemic, when it was hard for anybody to get out and do things, we had a number of online events. Events & Adventures fell down a bit in terms of its reputation during the pandemic. A lot of things suffered during that period. So, I understand that not everybody has had a desirable experience. If I had joined during the pandemic, it might have been a different experience for me.

My first event was a hike and it worked out well. The first person I met there was very friendly and then other people arrived and I found it was a group I fit in with very easily. I've done two travel trips with them, too. The first one was absolutely fantastic. It was rafting in the Grand Canyon. It was four days and it was roughing it out in the wild and sleeping on cots on the beaches at night. But they made meals for us and brought everything along. Also, we visited a deer ranch and we helicoptered down into the thing to start our trip mid-point on the rafting through the canyon. It came highly recommended and then I've been recommending it tremendously since I did it. Just last year, I went to Greece, which was my first international travel with them. The stuff that was in the trip was fantastic but I learned about myself that I don't wanna travel in a group of 40 people. Not that they weren't nice or that I wasn't having a good time. I was just ready to not be around that many people all the time.
They do a lot of cool indoor stuff, too. I've done trampoline dodge ball and once a month, there's an international food night. They just pick a restaurant of some ethnic food and they go there. I did a charcuterie class earlier this year and that was at a little brewery. That was fun. They provided all the food and all the ingredients to make the board. It was a higher cost thing, but then it was worth every penny. I've also gone to sporting events and things like that and they have things where they host parties. There's a lot of variety and there should be something there for everybody to find something they like.
I have been a member since 2015 and I've met a lot of people through the club. I get together with them outside of the club now and do things. Also, I go through phases where I get a bunch of events in and then I don't. I don't attend as many things now. And a lot of the things on the schedule thus far are repeats of previous things. But I really enjoy the club. There's still things out there I wanna try but they're not always convenient to my work schedule now. I'm restricted to weekends. I have recommended E&A to a lot of people. But I think the cost is high for some people and I don't feel like I hear that everybody pays the same. I’ve been talking with other people and it seems like we all paid something different when we started, even when we started around the same time.

But the most memorable have been the more extreme ones like skydiving or shark diving.
The crowd is very welcoming and very open. You find people from all walks of life and there is always somebody that you can usually connect to. There's always going to be cliques or people who just get along well together. But at the same time, everybody is so understanding because they've been in a somewhat similar situation or they're here for the exact same reason. I have a mixed feeling about Events & Adventures. It's super expensive, but it's a good way to get out of home. We have events every day. Not all of them are free. I already pay this huge amount of money, but I have to pay for events. There's no way to see that money back, except they're actually organizing. And for organizing, it's very expensive to do. You get nothing back from it. It looks like more like a business than a group of people enjoying each other.
I come in and sign the waiver. Sometimes, the host would introduce everybody. Sometimes, he just allowed everyone to be free. It just depends on how much you wanna speak with everybody, just be passive all the time or go and introduce yourself. So, it’s very open. I was nervous because I didn't know if I made a good choice by spending a huge amount of money. And they would only do refunds for the first week. It’s a full year commitment. The first event was the new member meeting, so I could get familiar with what it is, and how it works.
The hiking events are my favorite because I was looking for a hiking event for a while. And this is a good way to get out. I have more people I know. It’s more fun to see them. One event was when we went mini golf. On a whim, I looked it up and saw how much it would be to go play. What we paid to go to the event was actually more than what it would be if I just walked up and said I wanna play golf. I made it known to other members. At the most, it should cost what it would cost anybody else to go. I would think that we would get a group rate. We paid so much to join and it would even be a reduced rate for that as well. It seems like E&A is taking all the money and I don't know what they do with it. They do a lot of our travel arrangements and I understand that.
Another event I went to was the Smash It Rooms and Escape Rooms. Those were fun. We've done pontoon boats on the intercoastal too. Everybody's friendly and the hosts are fine. Certain members don't get along with some of the members but that's rare. That's gonna be common with any group of people you put together. There are always gonna be conflicting personalities. I encountered meetup groups, then Events & Adventures popped up quickly after an hour of search. I started looking into it, and I called them. I said, "What are you guys about?" They said, "Well, let's set up a meeting, talk about it, see if you're a good fit, and go from there." I had a mini interview with them where they did a bit of a background check and asked me what I was looking for. I had some questions as well. I said, "Well, I'm 27 years old, I don't wanna be joining a group that's geared towards older single individuals." They said, "No, no. We have 21 and up single people. Just come to events. We're here to support you."
I joined in February of 2023, and they gave me all these phone numbers of people to talk to. When I went, they said, "Here's how the website works. Sign up for your first event. We'll give you some discounts, because you're a nurse and you're a student." I went to my first event and fell in love with Events & Adventures ever since. I really enjoy the bigger group events, but one of my favorite ones was a paint and sip at a local coffee shop. They have some drinks and snacks, and it was like a guided painting, because I love painting. I've done Salt River tubing too. That was great for the summertime and there were lots of fun people. We have different personalities, but everybody works well with each other. There's never any weird drama that makes me uncomfortable.
Everyone's super friendly. All these other groups are like, "Oh, I'm this way, I'm that way." With Events & Adventures, everybody's like, "Yeah, we're here to have fun, make friends, be social." We even joke and say, "We're paying for our friends." Another event I went to was a wine tasting in Scottsdale, and that was fabulous. That's where I met my boyfriend. I also went to the the Fourth of July party, and it was really big. I loved being up on that rooftop with the pool, and I'm looking forward to the Halloween party this year. It's, overall, been a really good experience. Events & Adventures is a little costly, but it's so worth the money because there are so many different things to do.

Two years ago, I went through a divorce and found myself single again. I thought instead of trying to date, it would be more prudent and fun to stay single for a while and figure myself out for a bit. Events & Adventures has been a wonderful outlet for that. I am only familiar with the Phoenix Club, but I attribute every wonderful thing with the club to our amazing event manager. Her name is Maggie, and she is all. She is engaged, gets feedback, is open to suggestions, strong and and flexible when she needs to be. She is an asset to the Events & Adventures team.
There are all kinds of events, and I go to two to three a week. It's what I shoot for. Lots of dinner events. Recently, I did an astronomy cruise on a lake that we have here in Arizona. I've gone to the aquarium. We did a cornole bean bag tournament two weeks ago. We did a live game show event a couple of months ago. There's a place here, a venue here in Arizona where you can play game show games. They split up into two teams, you play like Family Feud type trivia or whatever other competition games, and that was a blast. Tonight, I'm going to the state fair.

The process of getting me into the group went very smoothly. Events and Adventures gave me an interview over Zoom, and I got approved. It's expensive, but it's worth it. It's a good group and they got good people. I've gone to a lot of different stuff, including happy hours, tours, art shows, dinners and sports-related events, like bowling. I'm satisfied overall.

The sign-up process with Events and Adventures was straightforward. I went through a short interview process, got approved, paid, and joined. I strolled right in on my first event like it was no big deal. I made many close friends. We all still communicate even though Events and Adventures doesn’t have an app or centralized way to do it. So, it will be good if they could have an app.
There's a whole bunch of activities. I get calendar updates monthly. They've got different kinds of activities for everyone. An event is very rarely canceled. Something new will get scheduled in its place if it gets canceled because there’s a real clear reason like a hurricane or a really bad storm. My favorite activity, so far, was the swimming with the sharks. There were no cages. You're just out there in the water and they've chummed it up and they bring the sharks up. I did not touch them but they swam pretty close.

The very first event I went to was the inaugural dinner. Everybody was introducing themselves to each other and I got an idea of who our host was and a laydown of who the initial members were as well as who we were meeting and gonna have other opportunities to do things with. We met at a gaming bar and it had this game where you slide a puck across the table to the other side. They had a dart and a pool. And there's this weird game I wish I had played. It was a good diversity of people. I was on the younger end. I'm 30 and then it was all the way to the mid-40s. People were in different kinds of fields. One guy had a roofing company and a woman managed multiple enterprises. I felt very comfortable before I even arrived. I'm a very big social butterfly so, it's easy for me to integrate myself into any kind of atmosphere. I knew I was gonna enjoy it and easily be able to custom-made myself to it.
I became more relieved that Events and Adventures was exactly what I thought it might be and it offered the opportunity that I thought it would. I also did a yoga session, an open mic comedy night, and an escape room, which was a neat experience. The only thing that was a little messed up is that we probably should have consolidated it down a little bit less. 15 people did it so all of us were running in different directions. I’ve never done an escape room before and I imagined you would solve one clue to get to the next clue. Since there were so many of us, we were working on five different clues at the same time. That became a little hectic but it was still fun. And some of us even still dressed up for it. So, that was cool. It was Al Capone-themed so some of us dressed in older attire. Girls were wearing one of those things called flaps and I wore suspenders with nice clothes.
My favorite event might be the escape room. But it's a toss-up. I enjoyed the yoga session also because it was right by the Atlanta Zoo in this spot that they made above a parking lot. The thing I like the most about Events and Adventures is it’s almost like having a travel agent in town. It's the way that you can find things in your own city that you might not be able to find on your own if you didn't know how to look for them. Also, it's nice to know that you're going out and you instantly have people you're gonna meet up with versus trying to drum up conversation and you never know where any given people are at the bar. They might be there just trying to blow off steam and not wanting to socialize versus I'm showing up and I instantly have people I know who want to talk and get to know new people.

They've been great. The lady I spoke to when I joined was fantastic, super nice and outgoing. Everyone was super happy and very open arms to welcome me. We sign up online on the site. Each month, a calendar comes out. We click, “View the events you wanna sign up for.” Then show up at the date and time. We did a paintball one, which was fun, and archery, too.

I like the variety of events to do at Events and Adventures. There are outdoor events like kayaking, hiking, bowling. There are also indoor events. We've been to a couple of bars. There is also a rooftop meetup. I had a lot of fun at Dodgebow Archery. We went to a roller rink that also had pickleball. We recently had a pool night and that was fun, too. There was supposed to be a roller rink night, but it was canceled because the place was closed. Instead, we did a board game night. They're all good times. They're not boring or simple. They don't seem like they were just thrown together. They seem like they were thought about and planned well.
I'm gonna be going to the karaoke and there are two other events in the next couple of weeks. I mostly sign up for them in advance then keep an eye on the events to see when they come up. I use the website to sign up for events and it works well. This group is new, so it seems that it's growing every other week. There are always new faces, too. Events and Adventures is a great way to spend your free time.

A co-worker told me about Events & Adventures. A friend of hers had joined and she absolutely loved it. I tried it too. I was nervous during my first event. You never know what you're walking into. But when I walked in, everybody was so nice and so welcoming. Within 15 minutes, my nervousness was gone. It was like they were friends that I had just been meeting up with and I was meeting so many new people. It was really nice. It was an experience. I was too cautious about it at first. But I really liked it and I had a lot of fun.
I like all the stuff that Events & Adventures do. There are so many different varieties. I wish I could afford to go to them all because this way it's already planned. I work so much and I don't get to do not even half the stuff. But I love everything I did get a chance to do. I went to plenty of their get-togethers, between 10 to 15 events. We went to an adult arcade. The most relaxing I went to was a painting course. I never painted before and shocked myself. We had so much fun. It was the whole cafe, a song came on, and the whole cafe started singing. It was just amazing and I had so much fun. I did really well on the painting. That might be my favorite.
I'm getting all kinds of new friends and that's the big thing right now. If I find somebody, great. If I don't, that's okay because I have so many new friends. It's amazing. Events & Adventures is super nice and accommodating. Any issues or problems, they always take care of us. I'm pretty happy and I'm gonna keep going. The only thing is some of the events are very expensive. If you join, you'd better be willing to have the money to go on these trips. They're a blast if you can.

I had the unfortunate experience of joining "Events and Adventures," and I must say it was a complete waste of time and money. This company promises exciting events and the chance to meet interesting people, but in reality, it's nothing more than a money-grabbing scheme. First and foremost, the financial aspect of this service is outrageous. They demand thousands of dollars upfront, followed by a $30 monthly fee, and then some of the events charge you extra to attend. It's like they are squeezing every last penny out of their members, leaving you feeling like a walking wallet.
To make matters worse, their cancellation policy is ridiculously unfair. You have a mere three days to cancel after joining before you're roped into this financial nightmare. They are fully aware that it takes time to truly understand the value (or lack thereof) in their service, yet they purposefully trap you in a contract with very little room for reconsideration.
But the financial aspect isn't even the worst part. The people I met through "Events and Adventures" were far from the interesting, like-minded individuals they promised. Instead, I found myself surrounded by individuals I would never willingly associate with in my normal life. It was a collection of people who seemed to have nothing in common with me, and the awkwardness of these encounters was simply unbearable.
In summary, "Events and Adventures" is a company that preys on the vulnerable desire for social interaction and adventure while robbing you blind. The exorbitant upfront and monthly fees, coupled with event charges, create a financial burden that's difficult to justify. On top of that, the people you meet may not be the kind of individuals you want to spend your time with. Save your money and look for social opportunities elsewhere; you'll thank yourself later.

I got the Events & Adventures lifetime membership. So, I paid a bit of money up front, but I can go to a lot of the events and things and not have to worry about stuff. I liked the travel. Everybody was warm and welcoming at the first event. I met some people that lived in different areas. A lot of them were younger than me. But that was no big deal. We sat around, talked and did a couple of line dances which was fun. It was more so about getting to know each other. Next year, I'm looking forward to trying to either go to Thailand or to try to get on the Vietnam, Cambodia trips that they have.

A lot of times, when you go to a venue, it's hard to identify who's a part of the group and who's not. Also, I haven't been overly impressed. They're events that I can find locally and do on my own at a much cheaper cost. We pay a significant amount per month but we don't get our money's worth. On most of the events, you pay on top of that. For the comedy night, it was charged $60 but it was a free show. So far, everybody's been nice but sometimes there's not a lot of mingling going on. Events and Adventures could have a better way to identify people or be able to do more mixing and mingling either before the event or have it incorporated into there. It's easy if there is a small amount of people. But the larger the group gets, there's not a great way to control it. It would also be nice if what we paid for monthly, we could attend some of the more costly events.

It's been phenomenal with Events & Adventures. I walked in to my first event and people were friendly. They were real and it was a nice environment. I participate in about 50% of the activities. Anything that's competitive in sports or has sports is usually something I would go to. I've done almost every bowling night and every billiards night. Also, I go to the birthday parties at the end of the month. Anybody I meet who's single and who seems to be half decent, I tell them to look into it. They have a good group in South Florida.

I saw E & A on social media and I submitted my information on the link. They reached out to me and set up an interview. Customer service has been really great so far. They're communicative. They email me and I email them back. I can call them and text them. They make it really easy. The first event I went to was their grand opening and I had a little bit of trouble finding the event. But the host Grayson and she reached out to me and asked if I was coming. I told her I was trying to find it and she came and got me. That was nice. I was excited for that event.
My experience with E & A so far has been wonderful. I love everything. I have an account that I can sign into on their website. They put the events on the calendar and I can go to the calendar, see what dates and times the events are, and sign up for whatever events I'm available for that I want to get to. If they're full, I can waitlist myself so if someone drops out, I can get bumped in. I've been to a handful of events. I try to do four or five a month.
I really enjoyed the escape room that we did. It was one of the largest events at the time. You look for clues and you have to figure them all out to find the one final item. If you solve all the clues of the group and you find the final item before your hour is up, you escape the room. Our group of 15 solved all the clues and down to the last second, we found what we were looking for. The notebook was how we were supposed to escape the room. We won and it was really fun. It was really interactive too. That was really cool. We took some pictures and we had some drinks.
Even if we were just getting together and sitting down for food with everyone, it's been really enjoyable. That was what we did last time I went. It's a good company because they interview everyone and they screen everyone. I don't feel like I'm getting together with random strangers. It's like a community type thing and I've made lots of friends. I'm a social butterfly and in my personal life, I do a lot of social networking. So far, I haven't met anyone yet that wasn't just super fun and great company to be around.
There's also a suggestion box with E & A and I can suggest events or things that I wanna do. I was gonna suggest a snowboarding trip but I just haven't taken upon myself to put that in. I'm sure there are trips that will come up that I will be able to be a part of. I wanna do at least one or maybe two international trips in a year. All in all, I've had a wonderful and amazing time with E & A.

The events have been diverse with different options for people and seem fairly well run and organized. It has been a positive experience with Events & Adventures. I just signed up in August and attended probably five events. Everybody's there to meet people and have a good time, and a lot of people approach it as more of a social atmosphere, like a dating event. It doesn't seem like it's a meat market or you’re overly pressured to speak to any one person. It's mostly made up of people who are just there to socialize and get out and try new things.
My one problem with E&A is it’s expensive to sign up. There doesn't appear to be any discount for the actual activities such as a group discount. We were paying the same price so I wish there was a break on that. But there are lots of organized free events so that takes the sting out of it a little bit. I haven't done any of the international trips though I'm intrigued. But those are overpriced as well. Putting together the same trip on my own is probably about half as much as it is to pay to go with the group.

With Events and Adventures, the calendar of events was a lot of events that looked like I would enjoy, but that I didn't have to plan. The very first event that I went to was an art gallery showing at a place called The Duce in Phoenix. I didn't end up staying because it wasn't as conducive for hanging out and meeting the other people in the group. But the next event I went to was a skydiving thing and it was really cool. That was a good event. It allowed for more interaction with the other people in the group. Everybody seems nice and welcoming and trying to make people feel comfortable.
It's been a good experience so far. I definitely feel like I've gotten value out of it and got to meet some new people. But there are some times when there are some people who've been in the group for a really long time, so it's a little cliquey when they are around each other. I don't love that. The point of the group is to meet somebody. So it is a little bit off-putting sometimes. But not all the time.

I was a little nervous during my first event since I was not sure what to expect and how I would get along with the different types of people. But everyone was pretty welcoming. As I went to event to event, I started getting a lot more comfortable. When I would meet new people that were similar, I would try to give them a good experience, and at least meet somebody that's nice.
I've done over 15 events. I liked DodgeBow, Beat The Bomb, and Escape Room. DodgeBow was pretty much like dodgeball with bow and arrows, so it was very active. The Beat The Bomb was pretty much similar to an escape room where you have several different rooms you're going into and all of the rooms had different obstacles and games you would play. It was pretty fun. I also joined a trip over Harpers Ferry. That was pretty fun. I met a lot of new people and made new memories, doing some activities. We did white water rafting. They had some tubing. We did campfire and ordering food and just meeting good people and socializing. I've had a great experience with Events and Adventures.

For my first event, I met the group at a local food truck venue that was close to a friend's house. They were open, friendly, and gregarious. I popped in and out without an issue, which is exactly what I need in my life. My next event was an actual trip where I was gonna be stuck with these people. For all intents and purposes, people that I don't know. But that was great for me, and so I've done more travel than events.
It's all about camping this year. The first trip was a camping trip in the Keys, which is not far from me. Then I went a little more adventurous with the Ocala National Forest and it was my favorite. Because it was all like-minded individuals and not any strangers. It was scary because you're in the forest, but safe because it's with the group. I just got back from Westgate River Ranch where I was able to upgrade my stay on the property. I did trap and skeet shooting, which was very scary, but everybody was very encouraging and I did it. We also did a hay ride. It was fun.
If you manage your expectations, Events and Adventures is a good platform. It's better than going to meet up groups that you don't really know and there's no accountability. This is more like a family. It's always hard to say hello the first time. But after that, you kind of feel comfortable because it's like-minded individuals. They interview you before you join, so there's a certain level of comfort and safety. They make sure that they let you know this is a singles group. If you're married, you can't join.

I've been really enjoying escape rooms and the people that I've met and have been getting to know have been great. Sometimes there are more expenses than necessary, considering the amount of money that I initially and continue to pay for. And it seems like they're a little understaffed. I like certain aspects of E & A. But I would prefer to have more people that are around my age. In lots of the events I've attended, the people tended to be more on the older end of the spectrum. I've attended dinners, board games, hikes, museums, coffee cafes. When it comes to dinner, I don't like them as much because a lot of the time you end up sitting and you sit in the same position for the entire meal. So, you only get to know the people at that side of the table and you can't really talk to anyone else on the other side or it's harder to talk to the other side of the table. It's harder to get to know everyone in those events. That's one negative I have about those events. On the other hand, you could meet good people.
Hikes and museums are good because you can just walk to the others, and talk to the other people in the group anytime because you're walking around. I really liked those events. But one of the most recent events I went to was going to a spy museum and everyone was just focused on what to see in the museum. They were looking at the exhibits mostly and there was almost no talking because everyone was focused on looking at the museum, which is fun, but the main purpose I joined the group was the social interaction. It's limiting when most everyone is silent because of the environment.
They have some really fun events, but sometimes my concern is that you have to pay more to get to those nicer events. Some of those events can be like, "I'm already paying $100-plus a month for special adventures, and then I have to pay another 100 to do blank events." And it's annoying. Most recently, I wanted to go to this event, which was to do kayaking on the Potomac, and then it got canceled because of the uncertainty of the government shutdown. And the government shutdown didn't happen, but it didn't matter. It was already canceled. I was sad that didn't happen.
Also, another thing is when comes to events for me, I don't sign up for events more than two weeks in advance. I cannot see that far ahead when it comes to my work, environment and schedule. And lots of the times when I try to look up events two weeks prior, the event that I might be willing to go to is already full. There were sometimes these really popular events like, paintball shooting. I looked at it and it was already full. I could technically go on the waitlist, but it's just annoying that some of the popular events get filled out too quickly.

They also could do better on their online website. They don't even have an app. You have to log in. But they have a lot of fun and awesome activities. That I give to them 110%. It's not entirely user-friendly, but every 15th of the month, they post the following month’s activities. So you go to their website and you click on Calendar, and it'll show you exactly what's being offered. It'd be nice if it was in a calendar format. But it's in an itemized format. But everything else about it is user-friendly as far as how to sign up for an event. You pay by credit card and if you cancel your thing within a reasonable time, then you get that deposit back. Events & Adventures just started here in Atlanta. I've only been doing it for five weeks, but at this point, I'm one of the OGs here. It may take a while for it to get off the ground. We're not gonna have events with like 50-plus people right off the bat. But by the time those events are rolling around, I'm gonna be the guy that knows everybody. I've started trying to get into hosting. And the more I do it, the more I want everybody to have fun that I'm having.
I've liked all the events because the social aspect of it has been fun. I liked the Sunday Fun Day in the Park because it was quieter, so we got a chance to hear what we were saying. But in terms of fun, I liked the escape room that we did, the Beat the Bomb. All the people I've met gives me an excuse to get out of the house and do a lot of things I wouldn’t have done by myself. All the guys are guys I’d go have a beer with. And all of the women I met so far are all beautiful in different ways. So, it has been exciting getting to know a lot of different people.

I'm very disappointed in E&A. It's a lot of money for what I'm getting. I'm paying over $122 a month and it gets me nothing. It's been advertised that for the monthly fee, they will plan events for you and lifetime members get it for $10 a month. But I'm already out $122 a month and then I have to pay for these expensive events on top of that. Yesterday, I tried to go kayaking on Lake Kyrios in Minnesota and I know they did a better deal but it was still $21 for me to go kayaking for two hours in addition to that $122. I tried to drive my own personal kayak there but I couldn't find parking or if I did find parking, it was a mile away.
They just did skydiving Twin Cities and that was an extra $250. I understand that could not be an event that they would allow me to attend free of charge. But let's say there are 40 events they're hosting this month, five of them could be free of charge. I could just attend the two-hour kayaking yesterday for free as part of paying for that membership. I went to Imagine Dragons with them. We had a Twin City summer fest. But I still had to pay the entire face value of the ticket $95. They didn't save me anything. So, what did I gain?
Also, events drop every month. There's a new month event on the 15th at 7 p.m. but I'm an ICU nurse who works 12-hour shifts. I either start at 7 p.m. or finish at 7:30 p.m. It's very hard to log in and by the time I log in an hour later, every single event that I could attend is gone. I've literally only been able to attend about five or six events since I joined in April. I’m just very frustrated. I had to do an interview and application process and I understand they’re a company but I felt very pressured to join that moment because I was saving a lot of extra money and I was getting extra time and extra incentive, versus giving somebody 24 to 48 hours to review more credentials online.

I was excited before arriving at my first event but I was a little disappointed that Events and Adventures brought people in based on whether or not they could afford it and the questions that they asked me at my interview were very thorough. Some of the people are a little weird and not very elite. I felt like when I first heard about Events and Adventures and first started talking to people, it really was an elite group. If you could afford it, they weren't gonna say no to you.
I’ve been to close to 15 events and I'm mainly enjoying that we're doing things in DC, which I wanted to do anyway. I've met a lot of great ladies. There's an overabundance of ladies and very few men. Out of all the men that show up, it's a 3:1 ratio of women to men at least. Sometimes, 4:1. I’ve given up on the idea of meeting somebody. I'm just gonna go and have a good time. I've enjoyed this stuff, which is what they said we were gonna be doing. It's just if you're there to meet a man, don't put all your eggs in that basket. Most of the women said that that was what they were promised.

The bike ride was poorly attended. It was three of us including the organizer. The organizer was well-intended but disorganized. I was one of the first 30 members in this chapter, and they were still getting started at the time. Currently, Events and Adventures has over 300 members so the experience is a very different experience at this point. Almost everyone has been very nice. However, there are a few people my age. I am on the top 10% of the age group. I am 60 years old. The average in the group is 35 with some people as young as 25 years old.

Events and Adventures is a good group to join if you wanna be able to explore a whole bunch of different activities that you wouldn't have known about or gotten into before. The premise of meeting as friends and people that you get to know regularly 'cause you show up at a lot of the same activities interested me, and I'm liking it.
The first event that I attended was a charcuterie party at one of the members' houses. It had a limit of 20 people. Those 20 people all brought one of these boards and everybody had a different theme without even planning it that way. I had never made a charcuterie board. It was fun to research it and figure out what I wanted to put on mine. I was a little nervous walking into a room full of strangers but they all made me feel very welcome. Everybody chatted and we all got along. We went to a Tampa Bay Rays game last week. I've also been to a volleyball outing and a dueling pianos over in Ybor. I would never have gone to Ybor by myself, but knowing I was meeting people that I had already met made me feel more comfortable. I had a good time.

I love my experience with E&A. Everyone's very friendly. The hosts do a great job of making sure that everybody's inclusive and introduced to one another. I was a little shy and they made sure to introduce me to other people. Everyone within the group would also introduce themselves and extend their hand, and say hello, ask questions as to how far they've been here and their own experience as well. That was also a good way to connect with other people and to socialize. The events were very fun. They have everything for everyone, for all types of social groups, and for everybody's type of preference of what they would like to do. My favorite event was the one on The 4th of July. We had a barbecue and then we went out on three boats.
The cost is a little pricey, like the membership, the monthly fee, or the annual fee. I'm not really too sure why it's as pricey as it is. Some of the prices for some of the events are the same price if you were to go and buy them independently. There are not that many free events or member events that they do. But that's the only thing that I can think can be a little bit more reevaluated.

I've had fun meeting new people through Events & Adventures. I like the variety of the events. There are some similar ones but in the end, I get to meet different people each time. The people have been fun. There are some people that I'm talking to outside of the event. The latest event that I went to was bowling in Virginia. I was a little rusty with my throwing arm, but I still had fun. The only problem was when I went there, most of the men and women had already separated themselves to specific lanes. So, there wasn't too much interaction.

Some months are better than others, but I've enjoyed E & A. I like that there's a range of events and it's not the same thing each time. It's a very diverse group of people. So, there's people you click with and people that you don't and people that are a little creepy and people that maybe overstep. But it's up to you who you wanna interact with or not. The cost is slightly spendy considering how much the membership is, though. If the membership is cheaper, I would have no problem paying for the cost. Other than that, our coordinator, Nate, is very personable and helpful. I was at an event and the power went out and he was apologizing profusely. He tries to make everyone have a good time and he seems to really want the activities and the events to go well.

With Events and Adventures, it's easy not having to put things together. There's a recurring event which happens every two months. It's at a ping-pong place here in DC. There's a private area that we have, and we get drinks and play ping-pong. This chapter is fairly new because there's a little bit more development that needs to happen. Someone came out from a different city and she commented the number of events is still small here. Sometimes you wonder what the money goes toward.

Everything is going well with Events & Adventures and I like it. Almost every day, there's something going on and meeting new people is a plus. Also, you can always try something new. I was a little skeptical at my first event but that become more natural and I got into the vibe of the club. Everyone is unique and it’s hard to describe which event is better because they have specifics in it. Yesterday, there were a lot of people at the event. You can always chat with someone, which is gonna be good. And riding a horse was a new experience. Every event is special. So far, I've been to volleyball a lot of times. I have tried going to Wisconsin for a trip and meeting with the other group from Minnesota was also adventurous and nice. It was last year. Some people are more open and some are shy. You can chat more with some people and some others can chat less. It's a human thing. But overall, it has been a good experience.

In the first event that I went to, we played question and answer game, and talked and mingled. It was very nice. I also enjoyed the R&B outing. I love the food and the drinks and the ambience. I really enjoyed the concert and also the night out with the members. The crowd is very pleasant and welcoming. Meeting new people is interesting because everybody has a different background. But it's nice. I really enjoy it.
With Events and Adventures, you are able to experience new locations that you never seen before or heard of or visited, and just enjoying it with people that you normally would not go by yourself but have the opportunity to go as a group and not feel like you're an outsider. But the pricing of the events should be more catered to being able to get people to come instead of providing a drink or a souvenir or a t-shirt. I just want the experience. I don't need the extra.

I liked Events and Adventures' variety. I feel like at least out of an entire month, there's gotta be a few good events that people would genuinely want to go to. And if not, there could be more. Everything on the schedule is very tempting to do. There are so many different things to do, new places to see and the activities are always very group-friendly. I've only done two events so far, but from what I've seen, so far, it's decent. I really like it. I signed up for E and A on July 1st. My first event was maybe a week or two after I had signed up. It was at Activate. I had been there before, but it was really nice to be there with a big group of people.
Everyone was really friendly, and I was able to make a few friends that I'm still talking to and planning future events with. That experience was a lot of fun. It didn't feel weird in any sort of way because you know that everyone who's a part of E and A has the same intentions as you for the most part. So, it was very refreshing and I felt very welcomed.
Before attending, I was a smidge nervous because I'd never joined a program like this before, but I've been trying to push myself out of my comfort zone trying to meet new people and go to new places by myself. Once I walked in, I felt extremely welcomed. I saw that other people also were like me and they didn't really know anybody from the group or maybe they only knew one person. I didn't feel like I was the only one that didn't really know everybody. I just went to the second event yesterday. So far, Activate was my favorite because I really like those kinds of games.
The next one that I am signed up for is on August 14 and that's for a comedy show. I'm definitely looking forward to that. At E & A, I've met a few people that I've connected very well with, and we keep in touch. Everyone's very easy to talk to. Everyone answers my questions. Everyone's really nice and respectful. I feel very comfortable. It feels nice to meet other people that are really open to conversation and can keep it going.

Events & Adventures looked interesting. I was very nervous on my first event because I don't do good in big groups. So, I was still really nervous and apprehensive at meeting new people. It's an anxiety thing for me. So, I'm trying to get myself out of my comfort zone by doing this and to find fun activities to do. I've only done two of the activities outside the home. I have done about six online ones because because of the distance. There was a health and wellness one that I did, that I do every Sunday. Then, they did The Price Is Right, which was pretty fun.
The other one was the travel news, which was learning about the upcoming international trips and stuff like that. There was a couple of them I'm interested in. Unfortunately, I cannot do the one that I'm really interested in this time around. So, I hope that they do it again. I did sign up for two other activities. However, I threw my back out. I didn't think it would be a wise choice to be driving two hours, and then hiking for two miles.

That wasn't of my interest, but I was impressed that they were able to still provide something. They have a very creative calendar. It's intriguing. Their communication is straightforward. And it has been pretty easy to manage. I went to the Tall Ships on July 3rd. It was a good group of people. It was a beautiful night. I've been wanting to get to that venue. My first event at Events & Adventures was nice and everyone was friendly. It was drinks and a little bit of appetizer. We played ping-pong and card games and we got a chance to chat with each other. Most of the people I came across are professionals. Someone is a CPA. Someone is a nurse practitioner. Someone owns a business. It’s a great chance to connect with the people. Professionally too. I joined on the 19th of May and I didn’t have much office work in June so I attended more than 12 events. I already had my trip to Canada but I didn’t have as much time in July, so I haven’t attended any event.
I’ve done volleyball at the beach and another time, we were at the bar, Howl at the Moon. I went to various boot camps and we went to watch the Cubs game. It was the most boring event and at that point, I realized, going out to see movies or watching matches is a place where you get the least chance of interacting with someone. Because most of the people are busy in the game. Otherwise, all of the events were fun. I would recommend Events & Adventures.

This is an investment in myself."
I did the walk around Fresh Pond, drag bingo, and the Ninja Warrior, but I haven't met anyone that I've found attractive or interesting to me yet. I'm still hoping that I meet somebody though. I've only gone to three different events, and I'm trying to avoid going to ones that involve drinking because I don't wanna meet somebody with alcohol involved. I joined Events & Adventures in May and since then, I've probably been to 15 events. They have a calendar that goes out the 15th of every month and you sign up and pick from there. I've attended one trip and I’m getting ready to go on a second. All you do is pay. If it's out of state, then it's just the plane ticket to get there. After you get there at the designated spot, everything's on them. We went to Shenandoah and we went whitewater rafting. The water was a little low but that's not their fault. They can't control the weather. Other than that, it was great.
Events & Adventures is big on being personable and physical communication and meeting people face to face. But they could have a better social media presence. Everything is on the website in terms of what events you wanna go to. We have a Facebook page but it would be better if they could add more. But you don't wanna add a chat group and then everything turns into online and social media as opposed to being personable.

The interview process with Events and Adventures gave me a sense of security. My first even was a museum. I wasn't clear on where it was but the good thing was the host texted detailed information including where to park. In that end, I was a little more confident that I could text and ask directions if I got lost. I've been to 10 events. Mostly, they've been sports - hiking, wallyball, volleyball. One of the hiking events that we went to was nature which was also very nice. But it's always a little tricky because you're not sure on where is the meet-up point. On the first hiking event I went to, I was in the wrong place 'cause the GPS took me to a different place. It was hard to get in touch with anybody. I had to drive around until I found the place. But other than that time, it's always been easier because now I know to make sure that I check with the host before going.
For the last two months, I've been working more in the evenings and the weekends in the morning. Those are when the events are taking place. I understand because the majority is free on those timings. But Events and Adventures could have options for different schedules.

Events & Adventures presents themselves as having professionally organized, local events to meet other young professionals. They justify the premium cost of their membership due to this professional management, and claim that they provide nearly 50% of events free of charge. In reality, they are providing the absolute minimum to be in compliance with these claims. Many of the events are "organized" by them only in the loosest way possible, and would have been free to anyone that showed up.
As an example, they offered me a "Taco & Trivia night!" at a local restaurant that they've organized, "free" of charge. In reality, the local restaurant they chose has had Taco & Trivia night on a weekly basis for years. And of course it's free to go, that's how every restaurant works. Restaurants charge you for food and drinks, not to walk in the door. And of course, E&A did not provide any food or drinks to its members. So what exactly am I paying E&A for?
Additionally, the "hosts" they have at events are often volunteers (that is, other E&A members getting a discount on their own dues), not professionals. I went on a hike with them where the host was completely unprepared: she did not realize that a "hike" would involve hiking up a mountain (she was very out of shape), and did not know where the trail was. Another time I drove to a neighboring city for an event (which again turned out to be community organized, without any E&A involvement), and the original address the host gave me was wrong.
When I finally got to the correct address, I texted/called the host numerous times so I could meet up with the group, but got no response. Hours later, long after the event had ended and I had driven back home without ever meeting up with the E&A group, I got a text from her apologizing and saying she had given her phone to her friend and forgot to check it. This is the level of "professional" management you get with E&A.
The worst part though, is that it is exceptionally difficult to cancel your membership after you've discovered what the events are really like. You have 3 days from the time you sign up to present them with a certified letter stating your intention to cancel. After that, its next to impossible. In my case I ended up moving across the country for a new job, to a city they don't operate in (or anywhere near). I've repeatedly provided them documentation showing that I no longer live anywhere near where they operate, but they are still refusing to let me cancel the membership. They're charging me monthly fees to attend "local events" in another state, which I could not possibly attend. I absolutely regret signing up with E&A - please don't make the same mistake I did!

On the first event, you're awkward and getting to know people. You know who your sign-in guy is and where your tables are. So, I don't know if this is a what-we-can-do-better situation too. It would be helpful if once the group starts getting together, maybe the tour person or the person in charge that night has everybody introduced to each other. Because you're really on your own to make that happen. There are a lot of people that have already been interacting with each other and they're already cliquey. So, it would be helpful to break the ice.
On my first event, I went to a happy hour situation at a restaurant. There was only one bartender, which was weird, because everybody was there to have a margarita. So that took some time. But when you're waiting in line, you're talking to people and we wound up sitting with two different sets of people at any given time throughout the night. So, you wind up figuring out some people and making some friends. Then, there were talks of what we are gonna do next so that part was cool. I'm good at blending in and making my way so I just did that and I met some cool girls that we still go on all these events with. But the guys stick to their own or find somebody they like and just talk to that one person. So, I'm always the one trying to break all that up.
I've been to volleyball once and one of the girls that I do a lot of things with goes there too. That event was fun because everyone was there to play volleyball and it's not cliquey. I went to the Perot Museum, which was super fun. Bell is great at making sure her group knows each other and that she keeps her group together. If you don't know someone and ask who that is, she's good about that part. And everybody likes to be around her, so we all interact with her differently. That one wasn't awkward at all because I knew who she was. Perot Museum had certain exhibits and people wanted to see certain things so those groups would go off. Other groups that wanted to hang out in the sports arena area where you could play some basketball stayed over there or stuck with the dinosaurs. So that was a good mix of people. That was probably the most fun before the 4th of July.
My fourth event was on the 4th of July. We got two pontoon boats and there were slides and we were jumping in the water. Events & Adventures had wings and brisket and potato salad, and everybody was in their swimsuits and running around. We were dancing and having a good time. I met a lot more people on that one. But we paid too much for that event because we each had to pay 100 bucks. There were 50 of us and I didn't know what all that money went toward because if we chose to drink, we had to bring our own drinks. But it seemed like everybody was there to have fun. We got out to the middle of the lake at some point when it got darker and there were 15 fireworks shows all around us, which was cool, and we had a good time.

I joined Events & Adventures not too long ago, and so far, it's been pretty awesome. I've been trying to be as active as possible. So, I've signed up for as many of events as I can. I do a lot of international traveling. I haven't signed up for any of the international trips through E & A yet, but some of the trips that I was seeing that they have offered are of great prices. I also do a lot of traveling with work and just traveling a lot in general, and I like seeing how many other cities in the nation E & A are located at. For instance, I'm gonna go to Florida here in a week or so for work. So, I've looked at some of the events that are at the Tampa location. That is really cool. It brings in a lot of like-minded individuals just from the traveling alone where you meet other people who like traveling.
At my first event, I was a little nervous. It was paintball. So, that was something I was pretty excited about. I felt I seem more nervous I felt at the new members meeting than I was at paintball. Other than that, it was also a little hard to locate the host of the event. That's been something that I've seen at a few events. I'll have to walk into a place and start asking the question like, "Hey, I'm here with E & A or Events & Adventures." They're pretty good at getting you located to where you need to go. But with paintball, since it's like in an open area, I was just kind of wandering around looking for people or looking for a sign. Eventually, I found the group and had a great time and met a bunch of people.
I'm about to turn 31, and I have found that the Houston group down here are more like 40, 45, 45 to 50. So, they're a little bit older. That's just how it is. It makes it a little bit easier too. The people that are in the group are really friendly, nice and welcoming. Last week, it was like I had an event every single night. I try to stay as active as I possibly can because there is that membership fee, and I'm gonna try to use it as often as possible.
I really like the kayaking event that we did. They advertised that you could go swimming in the river but the river that they do here in Houston, at least, isn’t something that you particularly would wanna get in. I did a volunteering at a food bank. That's something that I personally enjoy doing and giving back to the community is something I really like. The only thing is I would like to see more things that involve dogs. I was hoping to have something where more hiking that would have dogs allowed. There are a few, but there aren't too many that offer that, at least, here in the Houston club.
I have two dogs. They're super friendly, but they are pit bulls. We did a sand volleyball thing one day. The bar that it's kind of attached to is dog-friendly. They have a dog park there. So, I did bring my dogs to that event. I was kind of told that it's not really welcomed. I was like, “Well, if I have to not be an E & A member today and just be a regular person who knows you guys that ran into you here at the volleyball court, then that's who I'll be. I won't bring the dogs kind of around the reserved area and just kind of do my own thing." I do try to get out a lot and go and doing a lot of events. Tonight, I'm doing a steak and trivia. Last night, with the 4th of July, I did the red, white and blue badge. That was a lot of fun. For me, because I am getting out all the time now, I do feel like I'm just trying to entertain my dogs a little bit more.
Other than the dog thing, I just wish I was kind of informed, prior to or during the interviewing process, of the age group. I was hoping for more of a younger crowd. I found it to be a lot of more elderly people who have been divorced. I thought this is more of singles kind of going out meeting people, not really like a dating app, but that's been the negative. I would definitely recommend E & A to a friend. I've already done that to other people. I've been like, "Hey, this is something I've been doing. It's really cool. Check it out, see if they're in your area." I do think it's a good way for people especially my age to do it. You may not meet people entirely your age, but you are getting out and still doing activities. The activities that I've done so far are quite fun.

I noticed that the attendance over time is not very consistent. That's expected because there are different events, so everybody wouldn't really be part of an event. But I was expecting some type of oneness and what I saw was more of subsections of people. Other than that, the events are all interesting. I went for a bingo night, a softball practice, a bar, and a pedal biking. The pedal biking was really fun. The people that showed up for that one were a fun crowd. But my favorite so far is bingo night because, personally, I enjoy bingo.

Events & Adventures is something new and I was feeling a little apprehension before arriving at my first event. It was the book club and it was a fairly small group. There may have been eight of us so it made it easy to interact with the people there. An outdoor cookout event was my second event and I’ve also gone to the Murder Mystery Night. The Fourth of July event was quite fun and so was the Drunk Yoga, which was held at a microbrewery. It was the host's last hosting event before she moved out of the area and I've been to a few of her events and she was a cool person. So, we were just laughing and having fun and drinking some beer during and after. I've gone to a dozen events and I've been able to get to meet a fairly, more diverse, larger group.
There were probably 80 people at the cookout and then, we did the boats out to the sand bar and hung out there. So, when I went to it, I wasn't super intimidated because there were plenty of new people that I still didn't know and chatted with, but I knew enough people that were also comfortable. I walked around and had a casual conversation with at least a dozen different people. So, that was nice. I'm on the wait list for the Versace lunch at the Versace Mansion down in Miami, which filled up quickly, and I signed up today for the around-the-world dinner at the Greek restaurant. I signed up late, so that's already full. There's a pub crawl on Saturday. So, I'm going to sign up for that one too.

The major trips are fun whenever you go somewhere for a few days and I like the idea that everything is already planned and set up. You just pay a fee and go. Also, you still have to pay for some of the events even though you have a membership.

I joined Events & Adventures in January. I've done volleyball, a dinner, and a boat tour watching dolphins in Galveston. So far, so good. I'm seeing a lot of the same people, which is cool. Hopefully, I can meet more people, start to network and enjoy the moment.

The best thing I ever did was join events and adventures. I attend at least 2 events a week but typically I attend 3-4 a week, may seem like a lot but it’s not. What I have now is a social life. If that’s what you’re looking for then definitely join. I’ve met a bunch of great people but more importantly I have two really amazing friends (shout out to Tiffany and Anna Marie!) that we even do stuff outside of E&A. Most importantly, Ive found out (and signed up) for places I never heard of or knew existed!!!! Thank you E&A! It’s true everything is better with “single” friends. All the host are amazing and really go beyond to ensure we have a good time and everyone feels inclusive. I love having my own personal “planner” where all I have to do is check out the calendar, sign up, and show up, everything else is done. So if all your friends are married and you’re the 3rd wheel, this is the group you want to join and is a blast!!!

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at events and adventures so far. I have always felt so welcomed. There are so many events to choose from and the event manager has always been so on top of every little detail. I love how there is always an event to go to and new people to meet. I can't wait to see what my next adventure will hold.

I got interested in Events and Adventures' activities and the fact that I have different life circumstances, so it kind of met my needs of where I wanted to go in life. My first event was very welcoming. Everyone has been very kind and nice. I went to a winery event. It was just a couple of hours. I had made it known that I was new to this, and they were very welcoming. One gal took the lead and just kind of introduced me to everybody and made it very comfortable.
I've attended pickleball events, getting together and playing pickleball. I've done kayaking, I've done a couple of dinners. Most recently, we had a barbecue, and then, the wine tasting. I have a bunch of other ones that are coming up around, just going and listening to music together. We have outdoor activities like zip-lining or getting together at the beach or going tubing. I'm more on the active end. The kayaking is one of my favorite ones because I've always wanted to do it, and I felt very comfortable. I even reached out to the gentleman who was leading it ahead of time just to get some reassurance that this was an event for a first timer and that it would make me feel safe to try a new experience.

I try to do at least six events in a month. We're seeing the same people at different events, so we're getting to know each other. I'm liking the experience and the events that they plan. It's what I expect. The membership cost was a little steep, so I'm always going for the free events right now. But for a year's cost and if I do six events a month, I'll get my money’s worth.

I was super nervous. But it changed because I had a drink, and I was more comfortable. But I'm way more comfortable going now. And I'm not nervous now because I know some of the people. I've done Wallyball three times. It's racquetball in a volleyball court. It's a team sport and it's fun. I went out afterwards and went to a bar with everyone and hung out and got to know them a bit better. I also did the 40s and 50s mingle, the salsa and tango dance lessons. And I have an upcoming summer game party this Saturday. I have a lot of activities in July. Paddleboarding, Waterworld. I'm doing the 4th of July party and the celebration before the 4th of July. So, I'm doing a lot. I already recognize faces and I just have to make an effort to get to know people to make friends, which I'm willing to do. I wish more of Events & Adventures' events were closer to Denver. Because some of them are on the outskirts of Denver, which I don't drive very far.

I've been a member since May, and the signup experience was interesting. I didn't expect to be interviewed. So that was cool. The interview went fine. The membership was more expensive than I anticipated because Events and Adventures doesn't have any pricing on their website, so it was just at the end of the interview when they showed me the pricing. I kind of wish I had known about the pricing upfront.
I've been to hikes, volleyball, mini golf, and dinner. I like the volleyball event. I made some friends there. That one was fun. The members are older than I anticipated, and it's not quite the demographic that I'm looking to date because I don't like age gaps more than five years. So most of the members are not my type. But they're nice and fun to hang out with. So having fun people to hang out with is cool, and so I kind of have stopped looking for dating at Events and Adventures. If I come across it, it's cool. But I'm not expecting it. I've made some cool friends and the ladies are great. It’s been fun.

I wanted to sign up with Events & Adventures when I was married, but you can't sign up while you're married. Their club is an adult activity club. There's no reason it couldn't be a married club as well. It's a social event planning. My wife passed away two years ago. But while I was married, I wanted to sign up for Events and Adventures because it's a great little social club. Events and Adventures should make a second club that's for married people. It's just social activities and if you have kids and you're new to a town, you may want to go do a social activity with adults.
Signing up was a phone call, where they try and sell you on the club. And if you've never been to an event or if you didn't already know you wanted to sign up, it's a really hard sale. I think that the first thing they should offer is an opportunity to go to an event before they start negotiating a price for a membership.
For the most part, the other members are just single adults and I don't find someone that is my match. But at the New Year's Eve party, a lot of members came from out of town and I met a member that is in Colorado, Florida, and sometimes Texas, and then I found that match to be great. The only thing that I have found is not all the events are of the same caliber. Some of them are virtual events. A virtual event is okay, but it's not many recesses. Then, there's been other events that have been a little bit more adrenaline that I think I would enjoy more. The only thing that has been bugging me is my scheduling hasn't allowed me to be able to go to all the higher-adrenaline events. So, it's on me rather than Events & Adventures.

We play wallyball every single week. I've also done a few different sporting events, like kickball and flag football. I've gone and seen a movie at Red Rocks, which is our local amphitheater. It was really cool. However, the screening process for allowing people to join could be improved. Some people sign up for certain activities that they're not capable of participating in, and it takes away a spot from people who would want to be in that activity.

Events & Adventures is good for going for a night out, and I’m friendly with a few people. I've been on two trips and I liked them both but for very different reasons. One was a ski trip and the other was a camping trip. The ski trip was a smaller group. There were 10 of us and we shared a house which was really great. I got to know some people. The Memorial Day camping trip was with a much larger group. There were 50 people or so but it was still very fun. But I'd like to see Events and Adventures challenge alcohol consumption more. Of all the events I've gone to, two of them weren't at a place that served alcohol.
Also, it'd be nice to see them do stuff outside the city. There's the occasional hike and one event in a blue moon that will be outside of town. But there aren't a lot of the events that are in the foothills or up in the mountains. They're all downtown which makes sense from a convenience perspective since most events are after work.

The first event I did was a trivia night at a bar that was close to my house. It was not very fun and I didn't enjoy it. The host could have done a better job of introducing everybody and getting everybody more involved in the game. But the second event I went to was like a dinner at a barbecue and that was a blast. There was an event coordinator and she waited for everybody to show up. She had us all introduce ourselves and the conversation was really flowing, natural, and interesting. I had a better time.
Also, there was a newcomers meeting that I went to. It was awkward, but I think that's how it goes with some of those newcomers' events. Afterward, we went and did a game show and that was really fun. I also went to a local concert. They did a free concert in a park in Scottsdale across from my work and they did an outstanding job finding us a spot and doing introductions. I think that's really important to get everybody feeling comfortable. If they could schedule some of the reoccurring events a little more frequently, we could get a really cool core group of people that would go every time. Then new people come in and see how much fun it is and it's just more fun for everybody.

But I noticed that if you're on a waiting list, they let you know you can join on the same day, which is kind of late because I had already made plans. But I understand that a lot of people cancel at the last minute. Also, it said I had 24 or 48 hours to cancel and I tried to cancel but I couldn't cancel it. I think there's a lot of misconceptions about Events & Adventures. I've heard a lot of the members and the grumblings, "I already have enough friends. I don't need any more friends. And I'm not meeting anybody that I really feel a connection with.” I have a different attitude. It's just about expanding my sphere and doing things. I like that there is such a wide variety of events because it gives an opportunity to attend without having to go through all of the planning and everything.
There are a lot of events that I like. The most recent event I went to was The Book of Mormon -- a play in San Francisco and I loved the play. I also loved the goat yoga, the stand-up paddle boarding, all of the hikes, and the bike rides. The party cruises that we've done have been really fun. I’ve met a nice group of single people that I've become friends with. I like the more active events that they schedule than just dinner.

There was a Valentine's party, we went to a pool hall/bar, hung out with the group, and there was mini golf. There’s a golf outing coming up. I signed up for it. I just think they oversell the program for what it really is. I'm still feeling out the group, but there's a lot of people that are socially awkward. So, I haven't really found my niche of people. I like the fact that they plan the events and I don't have to do any of that lead work. All I gotta do is show up or never show up. My first event was a VR event, so I was looking forward to it. I was little excited about it. I was just expecting to go places on VR, but no, I got some good conversations and met cool people. So I was definitely more ecstatic about the next event because it seemed like a good group of people that I normally wouldn't talk to.
My favorite event would have to be when we went to the Cidercade. I don't really like freaking hard Cider, but it was a fun time. I like playing games, so I walked inside and it was a $10 entry fee, and then you could have full access to all the games they have there. They were also playing the Heat first Celtics Eastern Conference final in there, which I'm a Heat fan. So that was pretty cool. I got to talk to some of the members. I ended up playing a few games with some of the members. I'm still a new member and Events and Adventures has a new member icebreaker type thing and we're gonna play WhirleyBall. That was a private event and that was great. I was excited about that. After about an hour and a half mingle, it got cringey for us, so we decided to leave. But we were able to walk around outside the private area. There was also a Christmas mingle, a baseball game that got a group discount and some mingle in bars. There was a reserve fee. I was a little nervous and intrigued as well as a little excited on my first event. But everybody was nice. It was a piano bar where they had two guys playing piano and people are singing. It was on Los Olas in Fort Lauderdale, which is a very touristy neighborhood that I would not have gone to by myself. I haven't done as many events as I'd like to because I'm busy but I enjoyed pottery, and I did a mixology class last week that I liked. We went to a very hip downtown location and learned how to mix drinks. The night we had mixology, there was also a country line dancing event. I'm sad because goat yoga was postponed to a date I couldn't do it. We went to a hockey game, which now that the Panthers are steadily working their way towards the playoffs, is fun.
I have met some people who I liked but I haven't made new friends yet. I tell people for other groups that I'm involved in that if they don't go, they're not gonna get anything from it. I wish I had a little more time because, so far, I’ve only been able to go to a handful of events. If people saw me more often, it would be easier to make friends with them and because they all go to different events depending on their interest, you don't necessarily see the same people at each event. I am still thinking about doing the trips. Events and Adventures has one coming up that I would enjoy. There’s a waiting list for a dancing event tomorrow, which is taco and tango, and I hope I get into that. They do a lot of cool stuff on weekends that I can't do because I work Saturday mornings. But that’s my issue. Even if they're online, they have events every day. So, it’s not on them.

I decided to do Events and Adventures because I divorced last summer and I don't have any single friends. My first event was called Japanese Dinner on April 11th and it was at Yoshi Shabu-Shabu in Plano. I was very nervous. That night was not the best. I thought I at least get a "Welcome to your first meeting" or some kind of intro because I didn't know how it worked. I knew they didn't wear name tags. I went in and the host stuck a thing out in front of me to sign. I even told her, "What am I doing here?" She said I needed to sign in. At that point, I would think she should say, "Are you new?" But she didn't.
I just went and found a seat. I was sharing a pot with a girl across me and she would not look at me the first hour I was there. I could not get eye contact with her to make a friend. I was like, "Wow, is this how this club's gonna be?" It was really a bad experience. To this day, I don't know her name and I haven't seen her at another event. I was at the Japanese Dinner event for one and a half hours.
After that, I attended six other events. When I went to the one after the Japanese dinner, I was really nervous. It was called "Naughty Coloring Night" at this place called World of Beer in Fort Worth. That was really far for me to drive. But I liked the whole naughty part of it. It ended up just being little drawing pages where you just draw on these coloring books. They were inappropriate. It was like a pub and we sat and everybody was just laughing about it. I met a couple of new people and I was okay. We exchanged numbers. It was a friendship kind of thing. I was getting into Events and Adventures now. That first night was just a fluke.
Another event I went to was Rack Daddy's and it's a pool hall. It was called the New Members and Darts, Pizza, and Pool. They had pizza for us. When I first walked in, I thought it was dumpy because the place smelled like cigarettes. But I was gonna go with it. Some people said that it's really casual. I was there from 7:00 until 11:00.
In the beginning, they did a little meet new member meeting. You could go to at least one, so I went. You stay after to play darts and it was fun. That was a great event. There were so many people there and I got to meet them. I got to know a lot more people. Everybody was happy and just having a good time. The new member thing was cool because, Val, our coordinator spoke to us and there were quite a few of us. I met a really nice guy through that group and just mingled with other people. It must have been 50 people there or more and it was all ages. It was a great environment.
Another event I did was the Night at Perot, which is a museum in Dallas. It's once a month on a Thursday and it's called Perot on Tap. They have food trucks, beer, and wine set up outside. It's only for 21 and older, and it's after hours. You get free access to the entire museum. They had live music and it was really cool. I was nervous for that one because I couldn't drink at all. I took an Uber and it was a little bit of a drive. I just didn't wanna drink and then drive. I couldn't find the group and I didn't know where to meet. I found the host. It was awkward and nobody was talking to me. I knew no one. The host was so sweet. She took me in that night and introduced me to a couple of people so that I wouldn't be walking around by myself.
My favorites so far are the Friday night event and the New Members Darts and Pizza and Pool because I played pool and I won. On Friday night, I'm going to Cirque du Soleil with a group, and then Saturday, I'm going to Scarborough Fair. So far, I've made some good friends. I met a couple of women there. One of them's a little bit older than me. I'm 53 and the other one's in her mid-40s. We've been doing all kinds of stuff together. We text each other every day. We also did Thursday night which was Beer Bingo then Friday night which was the darts thing.
On Saturday night, we did what was called a 70s, 80s Night at a Winery. They played only 70s and 80s music. It ended up being more of a karaoke thing and I'm not a karaoke fan. And I don't like listening to everybody. They sound horrible. All in all, Events and Adventures is interesting because the people are so unique. I wish it had more diversity but it's okay. I've made some good friends out of this and I'm glad I did it.

I was in the right space in my life where I wasn't seeing anyone and wasn't planning on it so I joined up with Events and Adventures. My favorite event was the camping one but that could definitely have been done better. They’re still working out some bugs. They're gonna get better every time with it. Primarily, it was a great time because of the people. The only thing was we were a little cramped. I'm sure they're going to just get more space and that will be an easy fix.
I've done a couple of events and they've all been cool and always fun. It's always a good time. My experience overall as far as being able to find someone, it's been a little bit scarce. It was primarily because the majority of the women are older. A lot of them are overweight too. This seems to be the folks joining in. The women that are signing up for Events and Adventures are women that need it. As far as finding a mate, it’s been slim pickings. But as far as hanging out and meeting cool people and being friends with a bunch of people, it’s a great space for that.
The cost is a little high. It's just like an expensive gym membership. There is a lot that comes with it. You still have to pay here and there. But for the most part, it's not a bad thing. It also helps to weed out the deadbeats because if you're able to afford this, then that means that you're doing okay. Events and Adventures has been overall positive. It's just when they're selling you on it, they leave out that part about the demographics. I'm older and I don't have a big social circle. That's why I'm in Events and Adventures. If I did have a big social circle where people call me all the time to go out for beers or hang out, then I wouldn't be in there. I'd be already doing that. Myself, along with others, meet some socially awkward types because this is all the people that join. But it's cool. Everybody’s been really sweet and friendly, even the saleswoman. She was kind and good at her job. She wasn't overly pushy as you would expect a salesperson to be.

I reached out to Events and Adventures because I have been looking to build more natural friendships with people my age and doing it in an environment where I could experience active activities with people that wanted to engage and wanted to try to find ways to connect. The very first trip that I attended was an out-of-state ski trip. It was a weekend trip so I didn't know any of the people that were going to be there. Many of them were from other states. It was a nice and good event.
It was interesting because I didn't know really what I was walking into or generally what the club is about or the type of people that might be there. The different types of events are likely to attract different kinds of people because of the size of the group. I found that people that were gravitating toward that type of experience were a lot of fun to hang out with. They're all very easy to get along with and speak to. I was surprised how easy it was to walk into a house of complete strangers and spend three days with them and do a whole bunch of different activities. It generally was a very positive experience.
Events and Adventures had a paid employee that was on site and was managing a lot of the logistics such as any of the food preparation or food plans for activity planning. She was there engaged in part of the experience as well. That was taken care of, which was nice. That was really left up to the participants, but it was more or less everyone could do what they wanted to do with their time. They didn't have to be involved with any particular group activity if people were doing certain things. It was nice that people could do their own thing, but there was always a plan where people could go and do something that was a planned activity as well.
I've attended about four events total so far since joining around February 1st. The other events that I've done have been local in the Boston area and they've been fun. One was an escape room type of thing where you do a bunch of different tasks with the group. Another one was like a Dave & Buster's where you just go and hang out, have a few drinks, and play games at Dave & Buster's. I did a dinner/drinks for young professionals as well and these were people specifically under 40 but the group was open to people that are of any age. This event was a little bit more catered towards people that were 40 years or under as opposed to 40 or over. Events and Adventures is pretty good. The next one that I have coming up that I have physically planned and committed to is a trip to Croatia in August.

The group leaders are in charge of making sure everyone got signed in and knew where they would go and had resources to reach out if they were confused or lost. They seem to be knowledgeable. There have been a couple of people I've seen a few times. And it’s nice to see familiar faces and have something about them. But it's all nice groups of people and some interesting hobbies. It's expensive for some people. But Events & Adventures offers a lot.

Enrolling with them was great. The experience was very detailed. But I felt pressure to make a decision right away. There should be the option to allow people to review what they can and cannot do. The trips are organized very well and you definitely get to interact and meet people. I've had some great conversations and it's good to see the diversity there.
But there are some negatives as well. One of the things is a small room for a big gathering. That is not very healthy as we still have a pandemic going on. The other thing is that if an event is very popular, like the Hamilton theater event, they should run it several months in a row. Or they should bring it back because not all of the members can get on it. Other than that, I feel safe and welcome with them. Everyone is very friendly and nobody is judging me. I recommend this to anyone.

I was trying to find something that I could do with a group full of people to make new friends. Because since 2020, it has been more challenging to get out there in social settings because a lot of people don't have the same mindset as you do anymore, and it's hard to make a conversation. I was scrolling on Instagram and I saw Events and Adventures, and I thought, “Great. It's not a dating app. It's actually something that you can make friends while you're doing this. Why not give that a shot?” So, I went ahead and I clicked on it, and I noticed that I couldn't log into it unless I was a member. That gave me a better feeling because that way, I would know that not just some random person could join and I would be put in an uncomfortable situation.
I reached out and I was screened. The woman that interviewed me was a very nice lady to talk to. She didn't make me feel awkward. I'm a very social person, but it is still nice to give someone that energy and have them give that back to me. I got a very good first impression of everyone and the organization as a whole. I'm impressed with how organized everything is.
I've been on one event and I enjoyed a lot. The hostess was very sweet. She would come over and see how everyone did, make the small talk about the food and have her talk a bit about why she does what she's doing and why she enjoys it. And that opens the floor up for everyone else to engage and try to give their own two cents as to how they're feeling about things. She did a great job executing the event. Everyone felt welcome. That was a nice thing to see. I love anything outdoors, so I always look forward to an outdoor activity. I am signed up for something that does involve outside.

I was Googling and saw Events and Adventures. What stood out to me was the word adventures. I like having fun and doing fun stuff, even stuff I'm not good at. So, when I was talking to the guy who sold me my subscription, he said, “This is like recess for adults.” I said, “This is me. This is how I am. I just want to have fun.” The best for me is the Game Night. There were two games that I enjoyed. One was called Name that Tune, and the other one was called Price is Right. All the hosts were responsive, helpful and friendly.
I live in the Dallas area, which is a huge area, and Events and Adventures tries to accommodate everyone coming from different locations. Sometimes I want to go to stuff, but it's way too far out for me. They have a lot of activities and events around where I live, but for example, I noticed they always have the volleyball in a place that's far away. Maybe that's just logistics. Maybe there's no volleyball place in the suburbs. But I would like to see them having the same event the next month or two in a different area. So, if I see that volleyball I'd say, “I really want to go to that volleyball, but I'm not going to Dallas. It's just too far for me.” But maybe in a couple of months, if I see it and it's close to my suburb, I'd be, “Oh, yeah.” There are a lot of people that come from the suburbs where I'm at.

Aside from meeting new people and making new acquaintances, which hopefully all turn into friendships, what I enjoy about Events and Adventures is the different venues that we have fun at. I would have not known to go to these places. So, it's a good club to be part of to where you can experience different things throughout the DFW area. And it makes it very easy for you to go out and enjoy it.
I do active plus regular social events. We have different people that would partake in different types of events. So, I get to see different sides of the coin and the different group. My first event was beach volleyball and it was an activity that was fun, interactive, and people welcomed me and said, "Hey, come on, let's play." I felt a little nervous because I knew no one. I had a great time. Everybody wanted to have a good time. And some of it is competitive, but fun. Met a few folks there and went on to the icebreaker, which was that following Friday. Met more new people there. And it has been a decent experience. It's nice going to different locations that I've not thought of going myself. Because I'm new to the Dallas area.
I have participated in electric shuffleboard event. I also did the derby wine walk. There were only six to eight of us that participated in that event. But it was nice. I've never been to McKinney. So it was nice to be walking around downtown and interested in going into the other different shops that provided wine for tasting. I'm going to a dinner tonight. It's a seafood place called Tasty Tails. I'm going there with an open mind to have good food and conversation. I've recommended Events and Adventures to a few people that I've come across.

As a whole, Events and Adventures' program is pretty decent. As far as events goes, I haven't done anything too major, but I do like karaoke and dancing. Those are nice. The volleyball is fun as well. Everybody I've met so far is a pretty nice crowd. They were a lot older than what I was expecting, but they're decent people. Being part of Events and Adventures is giving me something that I haven't had in a long while.

I don't really have a group of friends and I wanted to go and do stuff with other people. I wanted to experience things with them and maybe meet somebody. I've been with Events and Adventures since February 28th and I've been to 15 events. My favorite one was the shotgun clay sporting one at George Bush Park. I pick and choose what I do. I usually do them during the week instead of on the weekends because I travel to our grandparents' farm and that's my weekend job. But if I have an event that I wanna do, I just do that and then I'd go to wherever I need to go after that. The people at Events and Adventures are great people to hang out with. We're all there for the same reason. It's just nice to meet other people with the same interest as what I have. Events and Adventures should keep doing what they've been doing. It's great.

I called and with one of Events and Adventures' sales representatives. They were more aggressive than I thought they would be for the services that they were providing. And when I asked if there was a refund policy, she refused to tell me. I'm in the middle of disputing with them, trying to figure out because their service is not what they said it would be. I don't like it.
I told them why I wanted to sign up and I was interested in meeting a woman similar in attractiveness and age to myself. They said that it wasn't a problem. So, I started going on some of their things. And they also told me that it would be 60 or 70% women to men ratio, but that was false. It was 80% men and 20% women. And when I asked them about it, they said that the market had just started up and that's why it was bad like this.
I asked if they could let me know if anybody that I originally said would meet my interests existed, so that way, I could go to some of those events, and they said they would, but they never reach out to me. And when I reached out to complain about this, they said the same thing, that the market was new. I was, "The market's new and these people don't exist. So, you're essentially selling me a service and told me that you could do something that you cannot do." We went back and forth for a while, and they went radio silent on me. I have no way of getting in touch with them or getting my money back.
One of the events that I went to was an Irish dinner. It was 10 or 12 people. Two of them were women, the rest were men. I also went to a Dave and Buster's thing. It was the same thing. There was also a piano bar thing. That was one of the other events that I went to, as far as the ratio that they promised, but it's still wasn't entertaining and wasn't what they said it would be.

I am looking for folks who like to hike and do things with their dogs and those kinds of things, which I do every day, weather permitting, and I decided to give Events and Adventures a try. I haven't been very successful. I don't know if it's the people I meet but there are just times it didn't seem to be working out. I've done a few events, but I haven't done that many. I'm 65, and I don't know that I'm a good fit for the demographic that they typically appeal to because I'm an older man. I haven't found a setting or made any contacts there that I really would like to follow up with. The things I've gone to are usually pretty short. They are no more than a couple of hours, and you can't really sit down and get to know some people.
They go out to dinner afterward, but usually, I go to an outdoor event, and I'll take one or two of my dogs, and I can't leave them in the vehicle for two hours so we can go in and visit. I suppose what I could do is just not take the dogs and do it that way, but I've worked with them all the time. So, it doesn't feel like it's a great fit. At this point in time, I'm not planning on renewing my membership when it expires later this year. I probably will still go to some events, but unless I see a big change, it's not something I'm gonna continue being involved in.

My first event with Events and Adventures was interesting. It was karaoke, and I'd never done that before. So, I was a little reserved but eventually, I got into it. The host was very welcoming. It became a great thing. I’ve been to almost every event that we have. I decided to go all in. I do at least five events a week. I've gone to musicals, games, park events, and axe throwing. As a matter of fact, I signed up for my first international trip in October. I'll be going to Kenya.
I did skydiving last week. It was amazing. I'm the guy that used to always say, “I'm not doing that” until I did it. Now, I'm ready to do it multiple times more. Everybody in the group has been very nice and welcoming. Age differences between all of us are really non-factual. It doesn't really matter. Everybody's there to have fun. My experience with Events and Adventures has been very fulfilling and very helpful to my self-discovery. I'd tell other people to try to get to at least an event as a guest and try it out because it's an experience to be experienced, not just to be told about.

Events and Adventures is a way to meet people. My first event was not fine only because when I got there, I went to the spot I was supposed to be and I looked around. I didn't see anything that looked like somebody I'm supposed to talk to. I was there an hour and then I spotted the right people. But I wasn't completely sure sitting there and I wasn’t gonna go around asking people. That was annoying. I would recommend when new people are coming to have something that you can just look for like a hat. But ever since then, it's all been really good. The game night was the most fun and there were board games. I would go for more karaoke, personally. That would be cool. On the whole, I'm just having fun with Events and Adventures and finding people friendly and enjoying this.

I was a little nervous at the very first event I went to because it was a little bit outside of my comfort zone, but I met Anne. It was a distillery. The people were welcoming. They were nice. It made me want to stay like, “Oh, okay, this investment is worth my money.” I didn’t feel overwhelmed. Normally, meeting new people that I'm not familiar with in large spaces overwhelms me, but that first experience was like, “Oh, okay, I can do this.” Also, it's not too big of a number of people that attend, so that's a plus for me. The distillery is home-brewed, and it was showing us the different models, and all of the fermentation that takes place in-house. The owner went through their fermentation process and how long it takes to get a batch of whiskey from their distillery, how long that takes, and we did tastings of the different ones that they had. They also had some for purchase. We also did a mini mixology course within that experience. So, that was good.
I haven't done any of the trips, but I have attended about 10 events thus far. We did the distillery, karaoke, and the pottery course. I'm into museums, so I’ve done all of their museum outings. I also did the Wine Down Wednesdays. I am into books, and they have a book club. My favorite was the Paradox Museum in Wynwood. It's like out-of-the-box art. So, what you think you're looking at is really not what it is. That was fun. For me, it's hard to be a little social, but being in that environment, it forces me to put myself in a place to have a conversation. Someone is always willing to be like, “Hey, how are you doing? Are you new here?” Then that's how conversations began, and I'm noticing the small formation of friendships. Some of the people in the group have been there for a couple of years now, so they are familiar with one another, and that's a good thing. The only thing is I'd like to see a mixture of people.

My first event was an icebreaker at a billiards hall. It was good. I made at least some casual new friends over the course of the night. My favorite event was the Whirlyball which was done a couple of weeks ago. The place we went to was definitely really good. It was like a mix of whirlyball, lacrosse, basketball, and bumper cars, and then you have five people on each team. Tthere was definitely a lot more camaraderie, and team building, though teams changed from game to game. People have the ability to sit out if they wanted for a game or two, or those who want to stick in for three games in a row. It was one of those very exhilarating games. It was not hugely physically demanding, but at the same time, you were sweating by the end of it.
I've only had one event that was a bit bad. I didn't get to go to it because of how bad the parking situation was. The area where the event was at was in the bar area of East Dallas on a Friday night. Despite living in DFW for six years or so, I've never been to that area. I didn't feel like having to try and find a parking spot three quarters of a mile away and be able to walk to the venue. So I contacted the host board and told them, “Nope, nope.” I was supposed to meet our host in the venue until about a little after 7:00. I got to the area about 6:30 and parking was already nuts. But overall, it has been a very pleasant experience with Events and Adventures. I'm glad that there is an initial interview process to weed out the people that wouldn't actually fit. I haven't really had any bad experiences with any of the people.

I was recently divorced and wasn't a big fan of dating sites because of the one-on-one aspect of it. I thought joining E&A would be fun. It was a little expensive, but I decided to pull the trigger. The sales rep wasn't extremely pushy and he did his job well. However, they're a little unorganized, as far as once you get to the event.
I had been to some live music and croquet. I liked the live music. You tend to get a different group of people and it was fun. The venue that we went was really small, so there were a total of 50 people there, and there were 15 to 20 people from Events and Adventures. The croquet one was fun, too. That was my first event, so that was a little weird, but I was trying to figure out how it works.

My cousin mentioned Events and Adventures to me. I was moving to Houston and she said that I should try it out so I did. My first introduction to Events and Adventures was good and I liked it. I did a wallyball event. There was a mixture of people and they were all a little different. I felt a little nervous because I didn't know anyone. But I'm pretty social, so I knew that it wasn't gonna be hard for me to talk to people. Sure enough, it wasn't. Everybody was friendly, so it helped.
So far, I've done around 10 events. I've been on camping trips. I've been to archery, a walk, and a hike. That was just a couple of blocks. I went because we were able to take our pets. I took my dog. I did the crawfish too and that was really good. We also went camping in New Braunfels and we went tubing. That was a weekend and it was one of those parks. Everybody chose their own thing to do if they wanted a tent or if they wanted to rent a cabin. The girls that have been in the club longer all got a cabin together. Usually, the people that have been doing this are already prepared to make whatever they're comfortable with. One couple had a camper. The newer members, on the other hand, brought their tent. There were four tents. We did an actual full tent camping, so I had to set up a tent. I really enjoyed that event. It was just chill and relaxed.
On the whole, the crowd in Events and Adventures is not necessarily my crowd. It’s an older crowd and I'm 31. There are mainly women in it. And most of the guys are really weird. I noticed that the Dallas crew is younger, more active, and does more young things. But the Houston crew is older and does more relaxed, chill things, which is fine. I can do those things too. But I was hoping to meet more people like myself or younger ones. Also, Events and Adventures is a little pricey. But it's fun. It gets me out of the house and it gives me something to do. That's what I wanted.

Enrolling in Events and Adventures was enjoyable. They did not require lots of information. I was a member twice. I was a member 15 years ago. I've gone on two ski trips. I've done a lot of events. I did skydiving, bowling thing, a lot of their exercise things, their hikes, and paintball. We had this one house that we have parties at often. We've done beach day and dinners. The skiing was amazing, but I looked at that as a trip more than anything else. There were about 15 people. It was five days. It was in Breckenridge, which was in Colorado. We all clicked and had a great time. I really hit it off with the person that works for the group. At one point in time, it was just her and I skiing down the mountain on the final day. She knew I was a beginner, but every day I was progressing majorly. So, I ended up going down a black diamond and it was a wonderful experience. I would sell others on Events and Adventures.

It's been nice to meet like-minded people and do some events that I wouldn't normally want to do by myself. So it's been nice to have a social group to do things with Events and Adventures. Now that I've been in it long enough, I've gotten to the point where I've met some people that we actually hang out outside of Events and Adventures as well to go see concerts or movies. So far, my favorite event was when we had a weekend for Labor Day, Weeki Wachee weekend, and that was where a lot of my bonding with my closest friends became because we had the whole weekend together in a relaxed atmosphere. We had a lot of activities. We got to eat a lot of meals together. I signed up for Memorial Day weekend at the Airbnb in Orlando just because I had so much fun getting away with everybody for a few days that I wanted to do it again.
I pretty much talk to everybody and I try to make everybody feel included. I'm one of the group photo takers. So, I try to do selfies with everybody. If there's somebody new, I'll try to shake their hand or hug them and welcome them in fancy events. My first event was all women except for one guy. That guy did get a little inappropriate. But I never told anybody. It wasn't my doing that he was not in the group anymore, but there were other people that had said stuff about him. So, he had gotten out before I needed to say anything and I pretty much ignored his pleas for attention. Other than that, I haven't had any other problems with anyone else.

Events and Adventures is worth it, although it's too pricey because you have to pay for most of those events. What they're charging is way too much for the fact that you have to pay an additional fee for the event. Also, the age group isn't what I expected. They're much older than me and I was hoping to be around people that were more of my age group. I have told a few friends that are single that need to get out about it but my six months would be up in June and I'm not going to renew. But I'll keep Events and Adventures in mind for my future if I need it.

I liked our Book Club brunch too, even though it was only attended by two of us. It was interesting.

I wanted to go out and do something different. I interviewed several different companies and liked the Events and Adventures format. My first event was good. It was a simple get-together. There were about 20 people there. I was standing on the side and they invited me to sit down with them at the table. I’m an eclectic weirdo. I wear a lot of bow ties so I stand out a little bit. They had questions about that but it was a very welcoming group.
I've attended, on average, 15 events a month. One of the coolest ones, and I consider myself quite the elephant aficionado, was we did the Myakka Elephant Ranch. We did spa day for elephants which was very cool. We got to scrub down the elephants and pet them. I gave an elephant a manicure. The camping trip up at the Crystal River was also fantastic. It was a three-day camping trip. I very much like to go out and be outdoors. We rafted down the Crystal River and hung out and barbecued. I made 40 pounds of wild hog chili. I went to the March Madness last night. Tomorrow, I'm going to the Music Bingo in Gulfport. The day after Thursday, I'm going to the wine and cheese event. Next week is archery lessons. I still have not been able to do the paint gun, but I got to do laser tag which is probably the best laser tag I've ever played. Events and Adventures is a cool group. I like how Events and Adventures don't make it too easy to join. You have to go through an interview and you have to make so much money and you have to be single. I like that about it because it means that the people who are joining are serious. I've gone to dinner a couple of times and bar stuff. I really like when we went to the gardens. There are a couple of upcoming trips that I really want to go on, but I can't because of the timing. I'm gone on some of the times that they were doing things. So that sucks. But it looks fun. It's been great so far. The only problem is my own schedule sometimes conflicts with the events. So I haven't been able to go to as many events as I'd wanted to. One time, they had an escape room trip, and I paid for it but I couldn't go because I was sick.

Also, I would love my friend to join me. But there are restrictions on it and it's a paid membership, which is a costly one. I know that that is a discourager for people who are not renewing. Other than that, I enjoyed the bowling night and the NASA tour, which was my first one out. It was closer to where I live. Everybody was nice. The first day I met ladies that live in my area. We connected on Facebook. We see each other now regularly. I connected with somebody else in my area at another event. Houston is huge, so it's nice to carpool and chat with somebody when we're driving an hour to go someplace.
