    Twice now, I have filed a transaction dispute, and twice it was dismissed, because I was told that I did not submit any documents to support my claim. That is a bare face lie! I have spent what seemed like hours on the phone with these people. They tell me that they received the documents, then send me letters saying that I hadn't. And if you want to take them to court, you have to do it in California. I've been to California once in my life, and that was one time too many.

    I recently moved from Los Angeles to France and had to come back while my visa is being processed. I obtained this card as I have a temp job and did not want to re-open my bank account I closed before I left and this was a good temporary solution-OR SO I THOUGHT. I lost my card 12/20/16, called and reported it. Paid $15.00 expedited fee plus $3.00 lost/stolen fee. Was told by two separate individuals that the card had been sent 3 day through FedEx and to be received 12/23/16. Card never came. I felt due to the holidays I would give it til 12/27/16. No card came. Called FedEx twice and they could not locate a delivery based on address. No one at WalMart MoneyCard customer service could give me a tracking number.

    Called back 12/27/16 livid and told they would ship another one out. Charged me another $3.00 lost fee even though card never came and how was I to know it ever went out? Called the "corporate" headquarters in Pasadena and that number only routes back to their call center overseas. Disgusted. Told card should arrive 12/30/16. If I didn't need the money for my chemotherapy medication I have to purchase cash for because my insurance is now in France then I wouldn't be so upset.

    I will be contacting my state representative about this service (since I'm still technically a US Citizen) as well as any other consumer affair groups. Shame on you for your shady practices Green Dot Bank. You're a disgrace and you ruined my holidays, my birthday (which is **,) and I am having complications due to not being able to obtain medication. All I asked for is a tracking number or a way you can confirm the card would be received. Disgusted and your call center customer service is deplorable. I expected better.

    Earlier in the year I purchased a Green dot card and some other things from my local 7-11. I accidentally threw away my nonactivated card away with my other things I purchased forgetting it was in there. I called Green Dot to hopefully receive a refund check. They told me they would launch an investigation. I waited around 3 months and didn't hear back so I proceeded to call back and they said they had no record of the investigation even though I had a case number and documents. They made another case number and said they would look into it. After not hearing back I called and they still didn't have a record of the new case or the old one.

    After 8 months I'm still calling back about the case and on 4 separate occasions they would hang the phone up in my face. One representative told me based on my receipt information they were able to find the money that was on the card but I still haven't received my money and I can't speak with anyone about this because they keep hanging up on me. Considering legal action to get my 400 dollars back because I have enough documentation to hold my own in small claims court.

    Went to Walmart to return items. Amount of return was 219.38. Checked card balance. Credit not there. Called Green Dot and was told that the credit posted to account but they show that Walmart ran a transaction for the same amount right after the credit. All this happened on 12/27/16. I called Walmart and faxed over bank statement. Walmart didn't show charge on their end but saw it on my bank statement. Walmart Corporate said that they would send Green Dot a pending authorization release paper to release pending charge. Green Dot said they have to wait till the 4th of January to see if Walmart collects. Makes no sense. As soon as credit appears on card, I will cancel. Promise.

    I purchased this card to use immediately and loaded 100 dollars on it. I tried to activate online and it was too soon. Losing track of how long I guess I tried to activate too many times.     We received a gift card for Christmas from my wife's nephew. When I went online to Green Dot website to register the gift card I was told that I had to provide my name, address, email, social security number and birthday. This is all of the information needed by identity thieves. I also don't know who Green Dot is, or if I can trust them. This is an incredible amount of information just to use a gift card and I refuse to provide this information. The website says that this information is required by Federal Law but I don't believe it.

    I am not happy with the Green Dot services. They did not have an option if your Green Dot gets stolen before you register. I have been trying to get in contact with someone for days now and no response. I had to call visa to actually speak with someone and they even couldn't get in contact with anyone. What kind of crooked company is this? You can take my money on time but I can't have someone who can answer the phone. I am very disappointed! Will not recommended this company. No Customer service.

    I took and gave my employer the information for direct deposit. It's been over two weeks, I still haven't got nothing. It's Christmas. Plus my electric got shut off and was off for 6 days because I had no pay check to pay it. When I call they want a 15 digit number or they cant help me. My employer said they don't have a 15 digit number to give me. I don't know what to do. I can't make them give me a number they say they don't have. The money has left their account already. So Green Dot has it somewhere.

    Sent my mom to Walmart to get visa gift cards. When she got back to truck I realized she'd got the wrong cards. Went back in store to exchange cards for gift when Walmart states sorry non refundable. 5 minute and non refundable. So now I'm stuck with these cards that I can't use unless I register them and then they charge a $7.95 fee to use them... Not happy.

    I purchased a Green Dot Moneypak Reload card for my Rushcard. When trying to put the money on my card they said they needed to verify my identity. I submitted a pic of my valid ID and was able to load card. Today I tried again after purchasing one for 400.00 and it won't let me load it. It said my identity has not been verified. This is for my kids Christmas gifts. There isn't any contact info and this is all the money I have. Please help.

    My husband bought this card so we could shop online for Christmas. We ran out of money so naturally we wanted to reload it. We went to the nearest Green Dot location and he went to load the card at the register with 200 dollars in cash. The clerk told him he had to buy a MoneyPak card to reload it. First of all, you have to create another, separate account to use MoneyPak's services, then lo and behold it came to my surprise that an alert came up saying MoneyPak can only be used on permanent cards (where your name is on it). We were not informed of this at the time of sale, and the sales clerk insisted it was the only way and did not use the register to load the card as she said it was unavailable for their device.

    So I called customer service to see if they can override the system by just directly accessing from their system and adding the MoneyPak info into it. After explaining it to a representative they said they would transfer me to a supervisor, which instead I was place back in the automated system to have to teleprompt all over again. Then I had to explain the situation to another person which told me there were no supervisors available to assist me and that they could no longer override the system to add funds from MoneyPak as they have a new contract that doesn't allow that and is only exclusive to MoneyPak a completely separate entity. We now have to wait until Dec 21 when the permanent card comes in the mail in order to use the funds.

    So close to Christmas and I can't shop for my son. His big purchase was gonna be on that card. What if we needed the money for food and it was the last of our money? How would we eat? I'm so pissed. The stores they allow to sell their cards are uninformed and ignorant. They do not have the information required to help you out and you're stuck like me unable to use the funds. Plus it's another 5.95 charge to buy the MoneyPak. What a scam. They make it look like it'll save you money when in reality they're just as bad as banks with all the activation charges. We have spent 14 dollars so far in fees to use their poor services. 1.95 to buy the card then 7.95 for their monthly services, then 5.95 for the MoneyPak. Don't ever use this awful system. Such a waste!!! Better to Western Union someone money than go through this crap.

    Every time I go to use the card it is locked. I had an important call to make tonight and I put money on there to put on a phone account for that important call and it is locked again and I have no other way to put money on there and there's no way to get it unlocked I guess.     The only problem I get with this card is the website to check transactions. It won't let me sign in and it gets very frustrating when I can't see my history when I want. Instead, I have to call the phone number and listen to transactions 5 at a time!

    So Green Dot is the worst. Word of advice. NEVER and I mean NEVER use their bill pay option. I used their option to pay myself essentially to get the money faster. I lost my card and was waiting for it in the mail. I thought I would get the check faster. WRONG! Requested the check on Monday 12/5/16, stated it would be paid by 12/8/16, site lied and said I was "paid" on 12/9/16, got the check on the next Monday on 12/12/16. Okay no biggie, let's go cash it and put the money on the card I need to use. HAHAHA WRONG!! Oh so ** WRONG! In all of my years of cashing checks using various check cashing options I have never had all five institutions refuse to cash the ** check!!! A $1,500 dollar check is just sitting in my purse useless.

    Who won't cash the check you say? Walmart won't do it, PLS Check Cashing won't' do it, the bank the check comes from won't do it. My bank won't do it and get this... the kicker. GREEN DOT'S OWN MOBILE DEPOSIT APP REJECTED THE CHECK!!! And what is Green dot doing? Moving at the speed of molasses to get me access to my money. I have to pay a lawyer for my son's case and they won't move further until payment is rendered. Now you are ** with my money and my son's legal case because you have dummy checks going out!

    Oh and just to ** with me further, I requested that my replacement card be expedited three days. Well, it's Wednesday and just checked the mail. No ** card! I requested this ** on Sunday! So no card for my account, and no check. I'm stuck without funds until Green dot decides to move their **. The minute I get access to my funds I'm taking my ** out and moving it to a real bank account. Honestly and truly... I had no real issues with GD. It was fine up until this point. Thanks for ** up my day in court today!

    I have been a Green Dot cardholder for 3 years. I even pay extra for the "VIP membership". My card was compromised 2 weeks ago and ran for 20+ charges that I did not authorize. Needless to say, my acct was completely drained of over $1,000. Obviously upset, I called Green Dot to get help and have since been getting the run around for the past 2 weeks. I've been told I would be contacted by a supervisor twice... Both times I've been lied to as no one has contacted me. I continue to call on a daily basis but get the same answer and nothing more - "it is being investigated." This co. provided a financial service and has completely failed to take care of their customer. I am currently out a $1,000 and have no confidence at this point that Green Dot is going to do ANYTHING about it. The way I have been treated in this instance tells me they absolutely DO NOT CARE about their customers!

    I was given a GREEN DOT GIFT CARD and I have not used it. I tried to register it online and it keeps saying that the card has been already registered and won't let me keep going so I called the phone number on back of card and it clearly says that I need to register card and I choose the option to do it over the phone and once I put in the card info, the stupid recording tells me that I am calling the wrong number and to call the number on back of card again and hangs up, doesn't give me an option to talk to a customer service rep. My card has money in it and I can't use it. I am so angry. I wish Mr. Harvey knew that he is promoting a scamming business.

    I purchased a Visa Gift Card at Walmart that is issued by Green Dot Bank on December 2nd. I tried using the card online on Wednesday December 7th and it was declined, then I read I had to register it to use it online. As instructed by instructions on the back of the card, I went to WalmartGift.com to register the card. I attempted multiple times and each time received an Internal Error. I moved on from trying to use it online and on December 8, I tried paying with the card at an Ace Hardware store, once again it was declined. At this point I was becoming frustrated and worried that the funds were never actually added when I purchased the card. I paid $4.94 for the card and added $70 of funds at the store for a total charge of $74.94. I have my receipt of the purchase.

    After being declined at Ace Hardware store, I called the number on the back of the card 1-866-633-9096 and checked the balance. I received a message that there were no funds in the card. At this point I hung up and was convinced the funds were never added. Due to the location of the Walmart I purchased the card, I had to wait until Monday to go to Customer Service at the store thinking this was an honest mistake. Upon explaining the situation at the store, I was told that the card had already been used and they could not refund me. I was completely confused since my only two transaction attempts were declined. I was informed I had to take it up with the Bank. I have now found this to be nearly impossible, and all their numbers are automated.

    There is one message that states you can write to dispute purchases or charges or call customer service, but a number is never provided. I listened to the transaction history; all those purchases were done when the card was still in its packaging. I tried registering the card on getmygreen.com (this is the site on the back of the card that is used to add funds) and I receive a message that the card has already been registered. This is odd because it was not by me. I have been robbed and no one is assisting in sorting this out. If the card has been registered, the bank should be able to investigate who is stealing. I feel that as a consumer, I am being ignored and worse, accused of lying (this was done by the Manger at Walmart, I will be writing them up as well). This has by far been the worst experience I have ever had with a bank. If this happened to me, who else is it affecting? I want answers and my money.

    I have had a Walmart/Green Dot Bank card for many years. Generally all is well, until you need customer service or assistance. The one time I had a problem (fraudulent charge), my card was shut off and I was THEN informed that I would wait 7-10 business days for its replacement. So the balance on my card was unavailable to me during that period. Tough to pay my bills, since that's the card my direct deposit goes to and from which I live. That didn't seem to bother anyone in customer service. I even had one idiot tell me that this was good customer service!! I asked him to send me all his money for two weeks and see how it felt to be unable to buy food, gas and medicine, or pay any bills at all. He declined.

    The worst part is that every customer service MORON I spoke with had the nerve to tell me they had no one above them to assist me. Well, that's bullshenanigans. When I finally got one of the script-reading foreigners to offer a callback from Green Dot, I was finally able to speak with someone who could do as I asked - move MY money from the "closed" card to another ACTIVE and VALIDATED Green Dot card I ALSO have. Despite the BS I was told that "this is impossible, sir," it was done - in SECONDS. I think I will move my money to the ACTIVE Capital One 360 bank account that I have and avoid the Green Dot superior dance - and customer service lies - forevermore.

    I've tried to do direct deposit twice now and each time with 2 different companies, the money never transfers into my account. So I have to end up getting my company to wire me or mail me my first check and then have to do direct deposit at another bank. At first I thought it was the fault of my first company but then it happened with yet another company, so clearly issue is on Green Dot's end. Don't advertise you can do direct deposit, if the capabilities are not there.

    I spent a whole lot of money with Green Dot, let's say over 50,000. I had numerous cards. At the the end of my spending spree I was homeless and still am. I tried contacting Green Dot about cards I had lost which still had balances. They said I needed to get a lawyer and they would not look up information. I ended up finding one card. It had over 1,000 dollars on it. So I can just imagine how many other cards with balances I must have had. Well enough they said I needed a lawyer for them to even look up any information for me.

    Being a good customer as I was I can't believe they couldn't help me out after countless attempts of pleading and begging. Again I was living in the street freezing cold, without a penny to eat, and Green Dot could care less. That's greed at its finest. Green Dot could care less if I starved and died in the street. Thank God he choose to let me live through that terrible experience. No thanks to Green Dot for keeping money that didn't belong to them. Really what type of business refuses to look up customer information as easy as social security number to find accounts? Instead they played the game of "We're the big guy and you're small. What are you gonna do about it? If you can't hire a lawyer then too bad. You're not gonna get your money back. Thanks for donating to the Green Dot greedy, grubby goliath."

    I have been using the card for some years now and the only thing I don't like is I can only put 500 dollars at a time. If I am paying a bill that's more than that I have to wait till the next day to add to the card. I sometimes pay my car note on the card and it's a real nuisance having to wait a whole day. I feel if you have been with Green Dot for a year or longer that wait time should be waived.

    Service is better than others. I had my VA disability direct deposit with Direct Express for a while before deciding to go with Green Dot. I had some problems with Green Dot erroneously charging monthly fees, but this is no longer an issue now. There is no fee free ATM nearby and that is the most annoying thing.

    Received this Green Dot debit card in November as a "gift"card which had already been activated. Tried to use for a purchase. No good. Told I had to register the card. Went online to register the card. Needed my social security number which totally irritates me as this information needs to be kept private. Register the card. Am I now able to use it? No it is a temporary card. I have to wait for a "permanent" card to arrive in the mail. Meanwhile $15 in monthly fees have been deleted from the balance. I cannot use for online bill pay either. Found this out after multiple tries to speak to a "person" in customer service. So far today I've spent two hours on this and still cannot use the card. Do not buy this debit card. It is a scam.

I called 6 times and 5 out of the six times I was put on hold and mysteriously disconnected! Their customer service is horrible! Oh, and my account is still blocked! I'm reporting them to the BBB.

    I bought a Green Dot prepaid visa gift card for my son's birthday and mailed it to him. Had a tracking number added to the envelope so that I could make sure it got to him. The USPS lost the card during transition to my son's address. I've tried on so many occasions to get this card cancelled but the automated phone service requires the 13 digit number to cancel. Since the card didn't get to my son, he didn't activate it so I nor he has the 13 digit number to do this with. I've written to Green Dot to explain the problem and they have done nothing to help.     I received a $250 Walmart Visa Gift card from my employer. Knowing that holiday shopping was coming I kept the card in my wallet and did not use it. My co-worker recommended I check my card because her card had funds missing from it. When I checked, $249 had been used at various companies in CA. I live in TX. My co-worker also had her card used in CA and she lives in TX. The only action I took on this card was registering it, the thief MUST have originated at Greendot.com themselves. AND for them to use the card at some of the companies on the list, they would have had to clone my card to swipe a physical card at the stores involved. I have submitted a Dispute form to the company. Now I have to wait up to 45 days for them to return my money or deny the dispute. What a rip-off. Green Dot needs to clean house. They have thieves in their company.

    The GD was purchased approximately 6 months ago. We are trying to see if the amount was applied to what we needed it to. However, when we type in the card number and 4 digits following. We have tried to call the number on the back of the card and multiple other numbers found online. Then I was passed to multiple people with no resolution. So infuriating. All I am needing to know if the specific of the amount on the card that was originally put on the card was posted to a specific company. Too simple of an answer to be this difficult.

    I have purchased a Green Dot prepaid card from Holiday Station store and put every last dollar I had on it to obtain a room to stay in for the next two nights as I am located in Minneapolis Minnesota and it is absolutely freezing cold. Waited 10 mins to activate card after purchase. First response back was invalid card and then when I rechecked that I had typed in the correct information and resent it the website told me I had attempted to register the card too many times and would have to wait 24 hours before attempting to register it again. Cannot use card without registering it. Literally am going to freeze to death tonight. Thanks Green Dot! No way to talk to a human through their customer service.

    I am thoroughly annoyed with Green Dot. I bought a MoneyPak card to load my AccountNow prepaid card for $500. As I sign up on the moneypak.com website it doesn't allow me to. It says something about not being able to verify my identity and will issue a refund in 7-10 days. I have searched and searched for a way to get in contact with someone for refund status, a confirmation number, something, anything so I know it is definitely being processed. I find it ridiculous that you can't get in touch with someone about your money when this happens. That was a part of my rent money that I now don't have and am praying my landlord understands which I don't understand myself. SMH. So if someone can please help me I would be appreciative.     I was given this 12/5/2016 as a gift card from a family member. It was loaded with $300 that I have not been able to use at a gas station, dollar store or grocery store. It always says"transaction declined". I was able to use it to order pizza online just to see if it would work. I was charged an $8 monthly service fee on I cannot use. I now have a balance of $270 that I am unable to access unless I plan on spending it all on pizza. For something marketed as a gift card and then charging a monthly fee is ignorant. I pray I can figure out a way to use it up before next month so I can prevent them basically robbing me of an intended gift. This money was earmarked for Christmas shopping for my sons so I guess there won't be any presents under our tree. Thanks for nothing (literally) Green Dot.

    I called customer service and got a lady who had a heavy accent and could not enunciate her words. I had to keep having her repeat herself. After being placed on hold twice I was basically told she didn't know how to fix the issue other than to try to use it as a credit card. I tried to explain that I had already tried this to no avail. So customer service is a joke. Please don't waste your time with ANYTHING from Green Dot! They are a joke and more than likely a scam. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and my attorney general's office later today. And, judging from all of the similar complaints, I'd say a class action lawsuit is in order. There is no excuse for this to happen. *I do not have a receipt or an order number as this was a gift.

    Green Dot is great when everything is working. I have a RushCard but I use Green Dot MoneyPak for reloads. If there is an issue, you can not reach anyone. The customer service numbers are a joke. One just hangs up and the other gives an auto-attendant runaround. There is no live person!! The moment an alternative company offers what they do I am leaving for good. It's funny how Green Dot will comment and praise the good feedback on here but just ignore the bad ones. Bad for business guys. P.S. My issue was that my most recent reload would not go through. I got a generic message, "It's because of any number of reasons." I wanted to know more specifically why and when I could reload again. (Apparently there is a limit per month and week.) I guess I'll just have to keep randomly trying since I can't get an answer on when I can successfully reload.

    I work for Uber and Lyft and on the app they have a feature called "Express Pay" where you link your debit card to it and they wire the money you've made to your bank account within 10-20 minutes. Well I hit the express pay button on Friday and my money was not in my account until late Sunday. Then I did it again today on a normal business day and the money is still not in my account.     I've used Green Dot for several years. I used to love it. The monthly fees were low, no hassle card transactions, direct deposit was great, etc. But over the years, I've hated having to use the card. It has its drawbacks at times, like if you lose a card or try to reach Customer Service. Trying to get hold of an actual person is nearly impossible on the phone. Takes a lot of loopholes. They have frozen my account more than once when THEY think too much money has been charged on my account and I have to wait days to have it accessible again. They have had their accounts hacked into so they sent a new card to start over, no fault to my or anyone else's error but theirs, that alone freaked me out.

    I had a double transaction take place so I filed a dispute, it took three times to contact someone to get it going and another few weeks to have them contact the disputed company, then the customer service rep could hardly speak English; I had to keep asking her to repeat what she was saying, as did the disputing company rep. I stopped using them after that happened but I came back because they seem to be the only prepaid that has the lowest monthly fees and doesn't charge for every time you use the card like some cards do (as I discovered). However, this year, their monthly fees went up from 4.95 to 7.95 and the no fee at ATMs doesn't exist anymore, at certain banks, which is any in my town. I'm just going to use this card for online payments and that's it, it's not worth the hassle anymore, if I find a different company that offers more, I'll be switching. Used to be a good card to use. I miss it.

    I am so not impressed with GREEN DOT and their dispute process. I have 10 unauthorized charges pending on my account for a total of $400 + dollars leaving me with 10 cents. I have to wait until the charges are posted to dispute them which could take until December 13th and then supposedly 10 days after that to get my funds back. Why can't they just reverse the charges? I have no idea what I am supposed to do now.

    I loaded $100 on my card at Walmart and got my receipt. Four hours later I try to use my card and it's declined. It says I have -30.51. So I call customer service, stated my issue and was hung up on. I called back and asked for a supervisor and was hung up on again. I called back again and was left on hold for 28 minutes then hung up on. I called today and was told they were reviewing why my money wasn't loaded correctly and that the negative balance was an issue on their end. I gave them approval code, receipt number, store info etc. They said they show it was loaded on my transactions but don't know why it's not becoming available correctly.

    So I'm out $150 while they try to discover what the problem on their end is. Three reps and a supervisor have all said it's a "glitch" on their end but still haven't fixed it. I have direct deposit on this card. I'm changing that immediately because I didn't realize they were this incompetent and unhelpful. I'm beyond upset and very nervous about any more of my hard earned money being in their hands.

    I bought a Green Dot prepaid debit card last week. Today I bought a $100.00 MoneyPak reload card and I could not get the money to load. I called customer service and they said I cannot reload on a temporary card only on a Permanent card which has not even been mailed to me yet. I asked for a refund and was told to request a refund online which takes 3-6 weeks. NOWHERE on either card does it state I could not reload a temporary card. In fact right on the back of the card it says to go to Green Dot to find reload locations. Now I'm out $100.00 until they decide to mail me my permanent card. Green Dot is a ripoff. DO NOT use this card unless you call customer service as ask a ton of questions or you might as well flush your money down the toilet. VERY upset customer.

    I purchased a reload pak at a pilot truck stop for 100 dollars. I tried to load the 100 to my temp card and it failed. Spoke with customer service. They ran the pak number, verified the pak was good and the money was there. They told me I have to wait 'till the card comes in with my name on it. THE card with my name on it came in. Tried to load and got same message pak not valid. Called customer service. Now they tell me they can't pull up the moneypak to view it. I called 4 different times asking to speak to a supervisor and continued to get told no supervisor was available.

    Called the customer service department because of extra money coming out at a ATM and I told her I will need the money that was on the card and to order me a new one. After I got the money that was left on the card she froze my account and I couldn't accessed that. I had to even feed myself over the holidays and they wouldn't transfer my money to another Green dot card.     Up until now, I am very dissatisfied with Green Dot. I use this card to pay bills and also for direct deposit with my job. Well the week of thanksgiving my direct deposit came in three days early. Upon those funds coming in that day, I received a total of 12 transactions from a retailer in Texas. The total transactions were over a $1000 dollars, which took my entire paycheck and left my balance at zero dollars. It showed all the transactions were pending. I called Green Dot and the first rep, basically rushed me off the phone and said call back when they show up posted to the account. From there I can file a dispute. I was so upset. Mainly because she had no empathy, then she stated "I know you live in Florida, did you give someone your card in Texas to use."

    And her accent was so strong, you could barely understand her. I called back and this time got a male. He said the same thing as the first rep, about waiting for the transactions to post but was more apologetic. I told him, "why do I need to wait for the transaction to post. If they're showing pending, terminate the transactions." He advised that's the protocol. I don't understand why I should have to wait, and then have to wait another 10 business day after filing a dispute. This is my hard earn money I work for. Now I have no money, all my bills will late and I'm not even sure if I will get my money back in that time frame. I might as well go back with the bank. Any type of fraud activity, at least you're guarantee that your funds will be replaced with two business days.

    I want a return on my card because the merchant didn't have enough cash in the drawer to give me a refund so I put it on this card and they have held my money. They have lied about everything every time I called like it will be available in 24 hours. Well it's past that. I sent in my receipt and still nothing. It seems I'm not the only one this has happened to around this season. Starting to make me wondering if this is on purpose. They are thieves and don't have an idea on how to run a consumer's money account.

    I purchased and loaded one of your cards after a scammer called me stating that my electricity would be shut off if I did not pay a certain amount. Being as I was in a panic, and they had specific information about my account that made it more believable, I loaded the card. After realizing my local power company was not even open today due to a holiday, I knew it was a scam before I provided them with the card number. Now I am trying to receive a full refund. When I posted a request for a refund on the website, it says it has been received and will take 7-10 business days for a check to arrive. I need a way to track this, or even have a confirmation number to make sure this has been processed, but none of this is provided.

    When I call the customer service number, they ask me for a 16 digit card number which I was never given. There is no real operator to talk to, it just disconnects you if you do not have sufficient information. I do have a receipt of the full amount I paid in cash, the date, location, and the MoneyPak card. I need someone to call me and reach out to me to help me with this serious issue, and in terms of my refund.

    I have 2 Green Dot cards apparently. One is through Green Dot and the other is through MoneyPak. However I no longer have the one from MoneyPak, I lost it a long time ago in a move. I recently tried to log onto the MoneyPak website but I don't know my log in information, and since I lost my card a long time ago I don't know the card information either, nor the address or phone number linked to the account. And the only way to possibly get the information is to call and talk to someone directly. Unfortunately I don't have a phone to call someone with, let alone I hate being on the phone let alone someone who may or may not be able to help me and being able to understand me or the person I'm talking to. I'm almost never on the phone if I can help it. I would love to be able to do it over the Internet like everything else these days and my Green Dot card is just getting too expensive for me.

    Paying the monthly fee every month and a reloading fee every time I need to put Money on the Card. I don't need it very often but it is activating when I do need to use it there is the monthly fee, reloading fee and if you forget about the monthly fee you need a certain amount to pay a bill. Then realize that there was the fee amount on there and so the amount that you need isn't the amount you have because of that fee. So now you have to go and load more money on the Card to get to the price you need for whatever reason but you can't just put the amount you need to put the smallest amount you can load and that's $20.00 on top of the reloading fee. Then you need to wait for 10 minutes. So if you have an emergency you're just screwed until your money hits.

    So yeah it is convenient to have the prepaid card for paying your bills online, but if your bill is about to be or already has been disconnected, or if you have anything else is just a hassle. Not worth it, costs too much money and time. I will not recommend Green Dot to anyone else. There are other prepaid cards out there if you desperately need a card and can't get a bank account for whatever reason.

    I have had problems with my prepaid card not working at all. All it would do was decline the transaction no matter how much, what it is for, or the amount of the transaction. It would decline the transaction. You would check your balance online and/or call the 1800 automated number for balance information. And it says that you have the correct amount on your card for the transaction. But it still would decline the transaction. You would have to call customer service and talk to a customer service representative even though you hate being on the phone with a passion. But to find out why it is being denied, they would have to look and find out why, only to have to call and talk to technical support about it and having to leave a message for them to look into it and try and fix whatever the issue was.

    When they asked me what my email address was so they could email me and let me know that they had fixed the problem, and that it would take 24-48 hours for technical support to look at it, find the problem, and fix the problem. I had to inform them that they would have to call me because my internet was disconnected and I was trying to pay the cable bill so I could have my internet back. And they took down my number and a reason why they would have to call me instead of emailing me to inform me it was fixed. But they never called. Instead they didn't even look at my notes, or didn't care, or didn't want to call me to let me know that they had fixed the problem.

    I had put the amount that I needed to pay my cable bill and schedule a time and date for the cable company to come and reconnect my internet, but couldn't pay the bill because of the issue with the card, and they didn't call me to inform that they fixed the problem for two days. When I decided to go ahead and try to pay the bill again and have them come and reconnect it. When I called two days later the card was accepted and I was able to get my internet turned back on, so not only was I unable to pay my internet with my card, but I was not able to use my card anywhere for anything or for any reason. It was an incredible inconvenience and a total headache and hassle not being able to get or use my card for children's medication if my kids were to need it in case of an emergency. I could not buy food for myself and/or my family if I needed to.

    After waiting for two days to get a phone call that never came so I could pay my bill I decided to try and pay it anyway. It was approved and when they came out to connect my internet, I checked my email and found a email from Green Dot technical support telling me that they had fixed the problem with my card and I could use it again. It was dated and sent the same night that I had called to report that it wasn't working and being denied even there was money there. After waiting for two days to use a card that I could have used that night to pay my cable bill and get whatever ever else I needed or wanted. It has happened quite a few times but I couldn't get another card at the time and I had no other ways to pay bills or pay for anything online, or whatever.

    I am now currently looking for a new prepaid card with little to none that has any kind of fees other than loading and reloading the card, and a fee to find out what the balance is and to use the ATM machine. For the most part most if not all the banks charge a fee to use the ATM, then the bank would charge you a fee on top of the fee from the ATM. But it would be the same with any prepaid cards except for the ATMs that the cards work with to get fee-free ATM withdrawals. So yeah I liked how the card was there if and when I did need it. And in all honesty it has actually saved me in a tight situation. However it has also caused more hassle than good. I just don't want nor do.

    I have the money to constantly throw away, money that could be used for more important things than go to fees, monthly and reloading fees and the fees to use the debit card pin number instead of credit. (I hardly ever used my pin number for debit card transactions but in cases where I had no choice in the matter of how I paid with credit or debit cards). I need a prepaid card because I refuse to use any bank or credit union because they have always and only got me into trouble in the past, so I no longer use them. I don't know if it is for protection from me or from the bank. But I need to have a prepaid card to pay bills and pay for bills online and when we can't or won't have cash at that particular point in time, or places.

    I have a Walmart Green Dot prepaid card. I wanted to load some cash on it for THE VERY FIRST TIME. I set up a MoneyPak account, entered in the MoneyPak number. (When I did this it shows about 10 cards already on file even though I have never used this service before and this is supposedly a new MoneyPak - obviously not as someone has used it numerous times.) Entered in my Walmart Prepaid card number and got an error saying that my LOAD FAILED: "Sorry! You’ve hit a limit for this MoneyPak profile. This means that in 30 days, you have already used nine MoneyPaks, or loaded >$3000 total using MoneyPaks (including this load attempt), or would exceed $1000 loaded or 4 loads today, or $1500 load or 6 loads in the past seven days."

    I'VE LITERALLY SPENT TWO DAYS TRYING TO TALK TO SOMEONE TO NO AVAIL. I first called MoneyPak and then it turned into a Green Dot number. When I entered in my birthday it said it was incorrect and hung up on me. I tried EVERYTHING on their phone. Then, as I purchased the MoneyPak at Walmart and am trying to load it to a Green Dot WALMART PREPAID card, I called the number on the back of my card. After a long wait I was transferred to someone who completely didn't understand what I was trying to say. And was no help. As we speak I am on my second hour of holding to talk to a Supervisor.

    I cannot believe that Walmart doesn't care about their customers. Nor does this Green Dot. I believe I was scammed out of the $260 that I gave the cashier at WALMART to put on this MoneyPak. Not to mention the $5.95 I spent for this useless MoneyPak piece of cardboard. Green Dot, MoneyPak and Walmart have all SCAMMED me and I would like to know how to sue them. I have also left a voicemail for my friend who is a producer of the local NBC station. I am completely flabbergasted that I got scammed and NO ONE will help me. ConsumerAffairs: what do I do?

    I am absolutely panicking because someone gave me a Green Dot "gift card" as a gift. I had to log on, include my social security number, and was told I had $10 on the card, but read the fine print and it said I had a $7.95 fee EACH and EVERY month!? This was supposed to be a gift card!? Then I have tried for the past four days to speak to a live person and go online to be sure my account is cancelled and all of my personal information is removed from this card.     I used this card for 2 purchases at a casino and hotel. The 2 purchases were just for incidental funds and were delayed the very next day both on business days! The customer service department was called after 5 days of my money not returning to the available balance and was lied to by their rep saying it would take 10 days to recover the funds! At 10 days called back and was told 12 days then was told 16 days! This card is a fraud. They withheld my money from me and no one there not even the top supervisors which I have to wait 2 days for a callback can do anything about it.     I purchased a Green Dot card to send to my son out of state so he can buy what he wants with it. He's 10 years old by the way. He gets the card which I had put $20 on and uses $10 then I get a phone call saying that he can't use the other $10. So I had gotten a personalized card in the mail by that time. I had to activate it so I could use my bank account to put money on it but then I had to send the personalized card since the original one won't work anymore. So I looked at the account activity and they charged a $10+ fee for the card. So I put another $20 on the card and send it to him. I get another call from his father who says he doesn't know where I'm getting these cards from because they don't work.

    I said I'll get the card from my son this weekend and try to fix it. This causes an argument. Also, when I put the money on the new card from my bank account, the bank froze my account until they could verify that I made the charge, this should have been a sign. So now I have spent $50 including what it costs to reload the card in a store and probably more than that since I'm sending everything in the mail too. I haven't called them since this last incident because I don't have the card here to give them the number.

    This is the most ridiculous scam I've seen. I'm getting charged half of whatever I put on it for my kid to spend. Now I look like an idiot because he can't use the card to buy anything. Now I have to give him cash for the money that was lost on the card. So I'm out another $40. I'm sure once I post this a reply will come up above this and say something like "I see you spoke to a supervisor and they resolved the issue. Feel free to contact us with any other questions." Total BS.

    These people lie and scam people out of money. Those who are hoping that this money they should be receiving is real because they're struggling already but because they agree to do what these scammers want they lose more money that they didn't have to begin with. Now that I see they want your card number, I realize that this isn't any kind of consumer affairs website. It's their website and this is a scam too. Great. They have no tolerance for fake reviews huh? I have no tolerance for a fake company taking my money.

    THESE people are nothing but liars. I called last week because I was giving the card to someone as a gift. Saw I bought the wrong card and bought another Green Dot pay master card. I talk to someone that told me because the card was bought with cash that I couldn't get a refund but if you use the card as a ONE TIME and not recurring monthly I would not be charge. So I activate the card and was charge 7.95 only put 25 dollars on the card. So I called and talk to a manager (sound like they were overseas) explain and she said she would credit the card one time and that money should be back on the card in 24 hours.

    Here today 3 days later I called and the person told me that the person I talked to gave me the wrong info and that all charges are valid. I told her that this was very upsetting and that I was lied to and never got a call back to let me know that charge was not valid, so I ask for a manager, which I was told that all manager were unavailable. So I ask could I have corporate # or a telephone was NO and hung up on. I called back explain to the person what happen, was put on hold for 5 mins and sent back to the main menu (nonlive person). Worst service I have ever experience. PLEASE. I REPEAT. PLEASE DO NOT BUY A CARD (GREEN DOT) OUT OF YOUR LOCAL STORE OR PHARMACY. They will take your money and hang up on you when you ask questions or want to speak to a manager. Very unprofessional.

    My card was charged 391.50 instead if 115 at a hotel. I have filed 2 disputes with Green Dot. One for the unauthorized charges and the second was for false services. Both were denied. I was told they don't protect against bad service. I also called while the charges were pending and I was told that I would have to wait for the charges to actually post to make a dispute. Why? The charges could have been reversed while still pending and the money never would have left my account.

    I have now made 3 phone calls regarding my replacement card. I have been waiting over one month now. On 11/04 the corporate office actually called me and said they would take care of the problem, and send me one by 3 day FedEx. By 11/10 I still had not received it so I called back. This time I was told it was ordered but they send me a new one.

    However the man said he found a FedEx tracking number. I called FedEx. The tracking number was Invalid and fake so I called back AGAIN. The new person had no idea where a tracking number was even listed. I was on the phone with him for 22 minutes and it got to the point where he needed to "investigate" what was happening with my card and account, and promised to call me back. It is now 11/12 and no phone call was ever returned, I still have no card and yet I am still being billed a monthly service fee. Furthermore now when I call my calls get dropped every time.

    Green Dot at the register is a dishonest company. The company sent me a text with a barcode attached. I took the barcode to a retail store. They scanned the barcode that GREEN DOT sent me and took my $500. The $ never should up in my account I was sending the $ to. In addition I had done the exact same thing earlier in the day at the exact same retailer with no issues the money went where it was suppose to. After more than a week of trying to get information from them, today they tell me to take it up with the retailer. The retailer says all they did was scan the barcode I presented to them which I witnessed.

    My $ went to another person's PayPal account, what a nice surprise for him and obviously a dishonest individual himself. Green Dot will not take any responsibility for their barcode error that somehow occurred. I sent them copies of the receipt, the text they sent me saying exactly where the money was going both on the text and also on the bar code label and even the exact bar code information. The single worst experience I have ever had with a company. I'll continue the fight but GREEN DOT does not give a crap. I suspect that $500 went to someone with a GREEN DOT connection.

    Called customer service due to my card being sucked into the ATM and shredded after leaving it at the bank. Customer service stated I would be able to transfer funds from 1 green dot account to another (my boyfriend's card) until my new card came in the mail. Well that was false!!! Due to the card being deactivated the "Pay People" option was not available as we were originally told, therefore leaving us with no money or any way to pay a bill with the checking/routing information. No money or any other means to buy food when you have a 4yr old child!! We are very frustrated by this process and can't understand how Green Dot can hold someone's money hostage until a new card comes in the mail. They wanted to charge $15 to have it expedited (up to 3 business days). So 3-10 days with no money!!

    I have never heard of a company that does not have any other options to access your funds until a new card comes. You should at least have the "Pay People" feature active or your routing/account# should be able to be used to pay bills (which did not work as well - declined by Telecheck). The fact Green Dot customer support can't do anything on their end is also another frustrating part. They can't even re-activate your old account in order for you to be able to transfer the funds out until your new card comes in, they can't activate your new account or help transfer funds out of the account on their end.

    The last note is you can barely understand the reps as they have VERY strong accents. VERY frustrating holding a conversation when you don't understand half the words the customer service rep is saying. I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS CARD SERVICE IS STILL IN BUSINESS. What if I were going out of town and needed my money??? What if my child was sick and I needed medicine??? I'm blessed to have a Mother that was able to loan us a few dollars to pay our phone bill (which would've gotten cut off) and to get a few groceries to last for a few days until the new card came in. I'M VERY FRUSTRATED AND WILL BE ALSO FILING A COMPLAINT WITH THE BBB!

    I have had a Green Dot MasterCard for over 4 years, never a problem, then... I received an email from greendot telling me, they were putting my account on hold, there was some suspicious activity on it. Someone was using my greendot card in Florida, charging $50.00 at Walmart in coral springs, FL, then another $50.00 at walmart, coral springs, FL, then $49.04 at walmart coral springs, FL, then another $49.00 at walmart coral springs, FL, and another $48.18 at walmart in Sunshine, FL, and then AGAIN, $48.12 at walmart in coral springs, FL... all these charges on 9/15/16.

    I have used this greendot card at my local walmart in Tennessee maybe 3 times, but load it there always. When I did make a purchase, I always had to use my pin (the real reason for having this card) number. I used this card, mainly at the 5 fast food places in my local town, and used it for online purchases. And after my investigation of this theft, the local places have had NO other complaints of copying or scanning.

    The last purchase, before the theft, was on 9/13/16 on ebay. After talking to the green dot representative (with A LOT of broken english) she made me think I had lost or had my card stolen, I have this card physically in my hands. She said they would send me a replacement card in few days, and then reimburse the card after 30 days... But NO money was recharged on this card, the thief's left $28.00 on this card, and so far greendot just keeps charging me maintenance fees. These thieves could have been easily caught... but the customers are the only ones being caught in this crime. GREEN DOT mastercard where is my $300.00?

    By far this is the worst experience I have ever had with any prepaid cards. First off I noticed that my card was set to expire October 2016 so I called Customer Care 2 weeks prior to expiration and a replacement card was supposed to be sent out. My direct deposit from my job is set up to my account so I really could not afford to be without my money. Well October 30 came around and still no card so I called again and they stated that I could call back on the 31 and order yet another replacement card.

    On October 31 that night around 11 p.m. I went to get the rest of my money off because it was due to expire that night but I couldn't because the machine immediately read it as expired. Ok so I didn't panic, called Customer Care and they noted that a card would be sent out for a 3 expedited delivery which would cost me $15.00 dollars. It has been 5 days and I have yet to receive my card and my paycheck posted 2 days ago. I can't pay my bills, I can't transfer my money to another account or card because everything says I need an activated card to do so. This has put me in such a bind and I will NEVER recommend this prepaid company to anyone. Every time I call Customer Service they tell me it's nothing that they can do until I get my card. So until then my bills will just go unpaid. I am not a happy customer at all.

Also, the difficulty of being authorized to speak about the account even though my spouse has given me authorization and their supervisor indicated it would be noted on the account.

    I have my card for around a year now. I use it to buy bills and make online purchases. My only complaint is being able to get money on and off my card having to pay a fee. Fee to upload money and another fee for withdrawals on top of the fees for the company I use to that. Cost me 6 dollars to out any amount on my card and another 6 to get cash off of it. I think that's a little high and unnecessary. My monthly fee should cover that. But outside of that. I have no problems with my card. It's been a very handy thing to have. And will continue to use my card.

    I have had my Green Dot temporary card for several months now. I called the automated system to check my balance and was told I was being transferred due to my personalized card being sent back to them. The next day I went to the grocery store and card kept declining. I immediately called customer service to hear, "I'm sorry. Once we send out your personalized card your temporary card is blocked." This was not explained to me so now all the money that I have to my name is 7 days away (in the mail on the personalized card). I then spoke with a supervisor. I told him the representative did not tell me at no point that my temporary card would be turned off nor in all my years have I ever heard of an institution blocking your temporary card before you receive a personalized one. The supervisor unprofessional and hung up on me. I tried calling back and they put my number in the system where I can't get through to talk to anyone.

    The brief while I was on the phone with the supervisor I asked to speak with his manager. He claims he put in a request and they will contact me within 1-2 business days and there is absolutely no way for them to unblock my temporary card; meanwhile my daughter and myself will have no food nor funds. Please tell everyone you know do not use this card! I would hate for anyone else to have to suffer from their negligence.

    I am satisfied with the Green Dot card. I just believe it is very expensive to pay $4.95 EVERY time I load my card at a store. The amount I pay at the store to register my card can be waived ONLY by signing up for direct deposit. That's the only complaint I have with Green Dot.     To waive the fees associated with the card what you can do is waive the fee if the cardholder has at least two direct deposits during the pay period. This way they are not charged five to six dollars per month. Lower the transaction requirement to at least 10 per month because sometimes a cardholder cannot purchase 30 transactions in a month.

    There are way too many fees that go with this card. Monthly service fee, withdrawal fee even from an atm. Your company says is free withdrawal. I have 2 separate company paychecks directly deposited onto this card and don't feel a monthly service fee should be accrued at all.

    Tried to deposit check after doing it tons of times and check rejected. You get referred to check verification company and they have nothing. Green Dot no help on phone even though they say card eligible for check deposit. One Rep said "cash somewhere else." Some supervisor should resolve and banking regulators must take note.

    Updated on 11/16/2016: Green Dot reached out and their response not legitimate. What rep said about duplicate check numbers deposited not true. I verified client who wrote check has no baggage with check reporting services and again this happened with Green Dot again on 11.15.2016. If you are going to lie about being able to accept a check using the app and then not do it, this bodes well for a business. They refer you to a check service called Certegy, contacted them and they have nothing negative on the client who wrote the check or the account being used. They had nothing to offer at all.

    I have been trying to get my replacement card since October 11th 2016. Today is October 25th and I still do not have a card. I have called numerous times and I still do not have a card. I am waiting for a manager to call back. Because when I called today he says he has to review my case. I pay to be a VIP member which has done nothing. I was supposed to receive my card in 3 business days. It has been 9 business days and still no card. I have been a customer about 10 years. I have never had trouble before now. But this is too much.     My electronically filed tax return was submitted using a Green Dot card as the refund option. The Green Dot card was sent to my mailing address but I was unable to activate the card. There was a document upload message that required my driver's license be submitted by scanning to an online website for identity verification. Yet, each time I tried, the response a few days later was that the scan was not legible. My tax refund has been sitting on my card for months and I am unable to activate the card, or to get a live agent by phone who can assist me.     I registered a new card today and immediately was informed that due to suspicious activity my card was blocked and that I must upload a photo of my ID. I did so twice. Both times, I was informed that the image was not clear enough for authentication. When I tried using the webcam system, the access link was not a link but simply an image; there was no alternative to the image of the link.     On October 21st 2016 my employer direct deposited my payroll into my Green Dot account. The funds were not made available. Our accounting department contacted Bank of America who provided us with the confirmation number. I provided that to Green Dot. I even spoke to a supervisor by the name of Ray. He as well as the customer service representative I spoke to stated there was nothing they could do until the funds cleared. We contacted Bank of America again and were told that the confirmation number Green Dot received was the Federal confirmation number and that my funds should be made available immediately.

    It is now 24 hours later and I still do not have my money. It is a Saturday and I have no way to purchase groceries or gas or any of the items that I need. My car payment is now late as is my power bill because I was unable to make those payments yesterday. At this point I have spoken to an attorney who has advised me that Green Dot has violated Federal Banking regulations specifically the Expedited Funds Availability Act which states that direct deposit are to be released on the day they are made. It is my intention at this juncture to contact the SEC, CFPB and the Federal Reserve on Monday. My attorney has advised me that once they have concluded their investigations then we will file a federal lawsuit.

I went to reload it at my local store and my money never reloaded onto to my card and when I spoke to customer service they said it takes 24 hours for them to investigate it.     Early this month I realized there were charges to my card, I immediately called. After being told the charges were entered manually they shut my card off, issuing me a new card and would be processed immediately and instructed me to fill out dispute form, and it would take up to 14 days. No one there speaks understandable English, only an automated line for help and it's been 3 weeks and still I'm out my money. Is there federal banking laws that protect the consumer? This is insane. It takes 10 minutes to wipe out someone's account. Now they're saying could take up to 45 days for me to get my money back.... Time to find a new company.

    I bought a Green Dot prepaid card on August 9, 2016 and only needed it for one specific transaction. After that transaction was complete, I proceeded to close the account. The only problem was, I still had a significant balance on the card. I could not transfer the money to my bank account, nor Paypal account, so the only option was to receive a refund check in the mail.

    I closed the account online and was notified by the system that I would receive my check in what I think was 7-10 business days. When I hadn't received it after a month of waiting, I called Green Dot customer service and notified them. It turned out that I had originally entered my address improperly into the system. I gave the representative my proper address and he told me that he would change it in the system and send my refund check in the mail to the new address, which would take two weeks to come in.

    Another month went by and I still did not receive the check in the mail. So I decided to call again today. When I called, I initially spoke to two different people who did not know how to deal with the issue and instead of transferring me to someone who could help me, the second representative transferred me back to the automated main menu. I finally got through to someone and I explained my issue to her. Her response was very similar to the representative I had talked to a month ago, as she showed both remorse and concern and notified me that my refund check would be sent to the proper address.

    Just like the first time, I was given a tracking number to utilize in case my check did not come in on time. This time, however, she told me that I would receive the check on October 25th, which is four days from today and only two business days away. Hopefully, I will get the check in the mail this time, however, in hindsight, I wish I had just left the money on the card and continued to use it until it ran out.

    This company poses as a gift card company but in order to use the money of the card given to you, you must convert it into a debit card where they remove $5.95 per month for maintenance. In order to utilize the card, you must register the card and activate but when you try to activate, the website gives error messages deeming it unusable. Do not buy this card for a gift for anyone! It is more steps than convenient for anyone and a complete waste of your money. Just give the recipient cash or a true gift card! Not this scam of a company. When calling the company, they promote you to load the card with more of your funds so they can take it from you in their "maintenance fee". They can add your money to your card but can't add the money they took from you back to the card. Because in reality, the card sitting in my wallet caused so much maintenance. Ridiculous!!!

    I set up my prepaid card to receive direct deposit. While shopping in Safeway my card and ID was stolen. I reported it immediately. I was told that they would expedite my card in 3-5 business days. That was on October 8th the day that the card was stolen. Today 10 days later and 3 customer service calls later I do not have my new card. Speaking to a Supervisor this evening I was told that there is nothing that they can do. They stated the card should have arrived today. We received our mail but the card DID NOT ARRIVE.

    I have money sitting on a card that I cannot access with no way to transfer the funds. Why is that? They told me their corporate office will call me tomorrow but had no number to give me.     Although I live in Texas and had my card with me, someone was able to rack up transactions totaling 850-950.00 in charges... They did several transactions between $49-$50 at Walmart or Sam's in Sunrise, FL. I contacted Green Dot and because the charges are still pending they will not start an investigation but the money is no longer showing on my account. I told them that I never gave anyone my card or my pin number and especially anyone in Florida.     I bought a green dot card and activated like it said to be told I cant receive a permanent card. I have been calling green dot for 3 days now and still could not talk to anyone. I called 7 numbers (626) 765-2000, (800) 473-3636, (866) 785-6963, (866) 795-7605, (866) 795-7597, (877) 434-3578, (888) 297-8525. These are all the numbers that are listed for green dot but not one of them got me to customer support. I had to call and report the card lost or stolen to speak to someone. When I did they passed me around to different reps to still tell me I couldn't get a permanent card because the automated system said my information was not right. They should have someone for you to speak to but Aly rep ** just gave me the runaround.

    If the information is not correct then they should not have been able to take 7.95$ of my money off the card and then tell me I could go buy another card and call back to have it activated by them. If I cant get the one I already paid for to work why would I buy another one. Aly rep ** had no answer for me then told me I can get a refund but it would be 14 days before I receive it and it would not be the full amount I paid upfront for the card. I haven't even had the chance to use the card. Why is it Green Dot can take my hard earn money then tell me I cant get it back nor will I get a permanent card. If it was disclosed that you would be taking my money I would have NEVER BOUGHT A CARD FROM YOUR COMPANY. This is the worst experience I have ever had. I will not and won't recommend this company to anyone. This company is a fraud and it has no customer service or customers support.

    I have 2 unauthorized transaction on my account, I followed all protocol to report the transactions in a timely matter. When I log in it shows that I have a new card but have yet to receive it and when I call to inquire about when my card was sent or were my documents received they don't even look into my account they just automatically transfer me to a automated message that basically tells me what I need to do to report unauthorized transactions which I have already done. So I'm not getting anywhere and I really need some kind of response because I still have a positive balance and I can't even access it because I don't have a card. Not to mention I don't even know if my claim has been processed to get my money back from the charges. This is really an inconvenience when you have bills due.

    I purchased two green dot prepaid Visa cards from a CVS. I activated them in the store with a total of $520. I tried registering them online and it kept saying the card numbers were invalid. After a few tries, I was locked out of the system and told to try again in 24 hours. I tried calling the customer service line and it kept telling me to enter my card number. After doing so, it would tell me to register my card online and it hung up. I had a very important bill to pay over the phone with a debt collector and today was the last day I was able to pay it. Since it's an IRS debt collector, I have no clue what will happen. I'm terrified. I'm sick. I'll never buy a prepaid Visa card ever again.

    I applied for a Cash Back card. The reason I went with this particular card is mainly if you deposit at least $1,000/month, the monthly service charge (9.95) is waived. I keep getting charged the fee, even after depositing on average $2,000/month. After contacting customer service, I was told that since I applied online for them card, it did not qualify for fee waiver. Last month, a customer service representative actually refunded my fee, and stated she would make a note in my account to no longer charge the fee. I was charged again yesterday. I called support, and after getting the run around from a representative, I spoke with a supervisor. I was then told that I do not, in fact, have a Cash Back card (even though my card says "Cash Back" on the upper right side, and all my documentation that came with the card says Cash Back, and has the information about the fee waiver if one deposits at least $1,000/month).

    She stated that I am actually a part of a new program (that I didn't sign up for) and that this program (and my card associated with it) is not eligible for the fee waiver. My mobile app says "Cash Back Rewards", which I have already reached the $100 limit. All my documentation States Cash Back, along with my card. The ONLY reason I went with Green Dot was because of this fee waiver. Congratulations, Green Dot... you lost a customer, and I will not recommend your services to anyone.

    Customer service is horrendous, false claims are made to the consumer about what they are getting, and you definitely don't get what you signed up for. I bet others have had this same issue, and I will be checking around to see if there is a Class Action lawsuit in the works... because of false claims regarding what you get when signing up (especially with documentation of what you get when signing up). I am just beyond bewildered that a company can advertise a service, have certain documentation to show that service, and then blatantly disregard all legality, sign you up for a service that doesn't provide you with what you wanted, and then do nothing to rectify the situation when you state you didn't want that new service... you wanted the service you signed up for. Total rubbish.

    Well Green Dot blocked my card for no reason. Wouldn't tell me the reason why. I tried using it at the grocery store. Couldn't buy anything so I called customer service. They would not let me speak to not one person. They sent me a email telling me upload a picture of my identity so I did. They called me ask for my social and birthday and hanged up in my face. Sent me another email saying the same thing. I'm still trying to get my money back that I worked for. What do I do? I need help. They are fraud people stealing people's money and identity.

    I have had my card for over a year. I get my paycheck directly deposited onto my card. My card expired in October and I never received the replacement card that they sent. Now I can't access my paycheck, can't buy groceries for my 5 year old daughter and our electricity will be shut off because I have zero options to access my money without waiting the week or longer to get my new card.     Bought this card on September 19 as a birthday gift and was told upon activation that I would receive the permanent card - the one I could use in 5-7 business days. That did not happen, although I WAS charged $7.95 for using it!     I would give this company zero stars I could! I've been a member for over five years and have always had horrible customer service! That's if you can pass through the automated system to speak to one of their supposed reps. They don't listen and could care less about your needs. I asked them if I could have more than one card. They said yes. So I bought a new one and put $400 on it. When I registered the card, they said I didn't qualify for a permanent one! Now I can't take the money off the temporary card or transfer the balance to my other card. When I saw a charge on the account I didn't recognize, they canceled it without giving me notice! Wouldn't let what payments I had come if out to clear and said that there was nothing they could do! While talking with this supposed supervisor I had asked that they could at least send the check to where I was staying which is 200 miles away.

    They said that the check was already processed and in the mail! While we were in the phone! So now this refund check that was so quick to manifest itself into a mailbox was going to take 10 BUSINESS DAYS to get to the address I use as my billing address! Ten days! They really put me in a bad spot and were very rude. Cancelling my account completely and writing a review in every column I can get into to!

    On May 13th 2016 Green Dot Bank/Walmart moneycard took my direct deposit from my employer yet did not allow me access to my funds until May 24th. This resulted in my wife being hospitalized because we could not purchase her insulin, caused the loss of my 1994 Harley Davidson motorcycle, 2 rifles, a shotgun and a pistol all to pawn shops. If they would have allowed me access to my funds, I would have been able to pull everything out of pawn and kept my wife out of the hospital. I am now asking for $12,000 to replace all the items lost as well as some form of punitive damages.

    I called their support line 2 to 3 times a day from the 15th to the 21st and was told each time there was nothing wrong with my card or account. It was due to the upgrade and they were sorry for the inconvenience. Recklessly endangering my wife's life and causing the loss of over $8,000 in items is an inconvenience? I told them first off exactly what would happen but was told there was nothing they could do. A facebook page titled walmart money card exodus was created and I do believe they reached some form of settlement. I could not be a part of it as I was seeking specific damages.

    This is the exact same kind of treatment that cost RushCard a 19.5 million class action suit. I was told to send receipts to c3@greendot.com and have done so numerous times yet they refuse to reimburse me for the items lost. Per their terms and conditions, they are supposed to deposit the money necessary to file for binding arbitration into my account. They still have not done so.

    On 9/23/16 a retailer of Green Dot Cards misinformed me as to the capability of the card. Less than 24 hours (during which time Green Dot employees misinformed me several times as well) later I cancelled the card. At that time Green Dot told me I would have my refund by 10/7 AT THE LATEST, but we assure you it will come before that. On Saturday 10/8 they are now telling me I'll have it within another two weeks. So they basically swindled me out of $276 CASH on 9/23 and will get me a check for $270 30 days later. If it's not illegal it should be.

    UPDATED ON 10/11/2016: OK now that it has become apparent I may never get my money back. I tried to call to say I want the other $5 they stole from me not back as well. But since the card is cancelled you cant speak to anyone. So I called the corporate number 626-765-2000 and using the prompts to get to one of the 1,000+ employees listed on NYSE and that system leads you to a dead end as well. My guess is this affairs board leads nowhere as well so I guess all I can do is write a letter a day (like Tim Robbins in Shawshank) to Mr. Lewis B Goodwin telling him what a FRAUD he is as well as his company. Don't misunderstand. I know that will not change anything either. The only thing that will change this FRAUD of a company is good old capitalism causing a legit company to take over the space and put these FRAUDS out of business.

    I loved the card but the monthly fee and the store fee is too high. You pay anywhere from $10-15 just to put your own money on this card. This card needs more English speaking staff or people that can understand what you are saying. They give these textbook answers and only have 10% of your question in it. She told me that her supervisor would say the same (let me be the judge) then they told me to call back if I wanted to talk to a supervisor. She was rude then told me she was ending the call. I called back and I was told they sent me mail or email which was (bs). If I got that mail about the fee change I would have looked into a new prepaid card.

    I wanted to load funds into my PayPal account using a new "reloadable" PayPal cash card. It didn't work so the Walgreens manager handed the clerk a Green Dot card and I loaded 500.00. When I got home and tried to load my PayPal account I noticed he had loaded a Green Dot prepaid card instead of the one that works with PayPal. So I began trying to find out how to contact Green Dot and I found out it was impossible to actually get a working phone number so I sent an email with all my contact information and it said someone would contact me within 48 hrs, I believe.

    So I go to get a refund at Walgreens or to transfer the funds to the correct Green Dot MoneyPak card. No luck on either. So, I tried to load a few types of personalized prepaid Visa cards. Not accepted. So I ordered a card, finally got it, and it was not eligible to load. I think ordered a Green Dot personalized card. It finally came and when I tried to activate it and load the funds it said it could not verify my identity and to cut up the card. I don't understand that at all. My info is my info and for some ripoff company to tell I am not who I am really got me mad.

    Now understand I was needing my funds in my PayPal account to pay a bill when I bought the Green Dot MoneyPak. Now over 4 weeks has passed. My house payment has not been made and I am no closer to getting any resolution to my problem. I went online and requested a refund by check which it said would take 4-6 weeks. But having no other option I filed the online refund request completely and it said it accepted my request. It also said I would receive my check in 7-10 business days. It has now been 2 weeks since then. I haven't received an email or a text from them nor has a check arrived. Now I can't find the original MoneyPak card. My cleaning lady may have tossed it. I can't get in touch with anyone. I am at loss for what to do. I have a gut feeling I will never see my 500.00 plus the 5.95 fee.

    I went to my local 711 to load my PayPal account and found they were out of the PayPal My Cash cards, so I remembered seeing the Barcode scan method before through PayPal. I proceeded to my PayPal and went to "add money" and was redirected to the Green Dot website which only had CVS and rite aide as Barcode loading stores available. Knowing CVS was right down the street, I chose this option. However, when I was redirected to the next page, the change retailer drop down became available and 711 was an option. I then generated the Barcode and had the clerk scan it for the $60 I wanted to load plus fee. I received no funds, no emails, no nothing regarding the transaction as it said I would get an automated email when funds were loaded.

    Continued to wait hours, now days with no money showing up. Tried to research a number to speak with management and there're none available, which doesn't surprise me seeing they are running their business like scammers. I need my damn money back immediately and have all corresponding receipts and proof to show I've been cheated out of my funds. Shame on Green Dot and PayPal as well for redirecting traffic to this horrible company... I want Green Dot to contact me at once regarding this issue or I will contact my lawyer.

I was supposed to get my direct deposit put on to my card which my employer can confirm that it was successfully accepted by Green Dot 4 days ago and Green Dot says different.     I filed a dispute with Green Dot over a fraudulent charge made with my card online and after a month they finally approved my dispute and credited my account the 150 dollars they owed me but then 2 minutes later they debit the 150 dollars back off and when I called, they said they changed their minds and decided not to approve my dispute and told me they closed the dispute and there was nothing I could do. So I'm gonna contact the BBB and the FDIC and get them to help me. Green Dot continues to rip consumers off and doesn't stand by their card holder agreement. What can I do as a victim?

    On 3 separate occasions I called Green Dot's so-called customer service line to inquire about my direct deposit and a charge I was given. Every time I call I have a rep repeat the same three lines regardless what question I asked. "Ma'am, as soon as it post it will show you online." I understand but when it post it will show you online" or the best one yet, "I don't see it posted to your online account. Obviously I'm not seeing it online either which is why I called. The rep should be able to access more than I can online. So after being prompted through the same routine over and over again, I was placed on hold twice only to be told no supervisor is available. Every time I call them this is their response. I am always told that they are in a meeting.

    In 3 months I have never been able to speak with a supervisor or someone who actually knows what they are doing. Instead their agents repetitively state that you should not worry and continue to check online. Even after I confirmed with my employer that the information was correct and sent on time the Green Dot agent still couldn't help me and kept saying that, "It will be ok." At that point I'm assured of her incompetence as well as the company's. This card is a scam and at this point I will most likely have to get my lawyer involved just to retrieve my direct deposit from this shady company. I have also been being charged monthly for a fee they were supposed to waive two months ago. The rep claimed to refund it, but oddly I don't see that transaction either. The worst prepaid company by far! This has been. Nothing but a nightmare.

    I have never really had terrible experience till now. Never good but this is ridiculous. After a couple days being denied or declined I finally called customer service to find out what was going on because I could call my account it would say my account balance but every time I used it it would be declined. Customer service proceeded to tell me oh there's a hold on my account for suspicious activity. I asked how suspicious could $8.16 be. I appreciate it that they were looking out but how do I fix it? They said go online and upload images of my state ID which I had no problem with and they said it be 2 days so they can review it. So I hung up went online. After my card number I put it in and it said it could not find my information with that account number.

    I tried repeatedly and then finally called back Gary badge #**. The customer service rep I spoke with said it was because I wasn't using Mozilla Firefox and that I needed to download it. I argued with their first second stating that should not matter which web browser I use. My account was still upload. However I downloaded it to appease him and again it didn't bring up my account. He said that I needed to make a copy front and back of my ID, print it out and mail it in. I asked that a fax number. He said they did not. I don't feel comfortable mailing it in that kind of personal information. He stated that is the only way to do it. I feel there's something fishy going on with this. I understand it's only $8.16. However that's my $8.16. I am very unhappy. I will never ever use Green Dot again.

    On September 14th I purchased a Green Dot Walmart money card. I uploaded $145.00. I paid $1.00 for the card. When I registered my card they claimed they could not verify so I could only use it as credit. I was very upset. I called the so call customer service. No one could do anything. The csr didn't even want to transfer me to the manager. It put me in such a bind. I needed that money for my son's funeral. It is now the 1st of October and I have yet to receive my money.     Got a 260.00 card for my daughter today from 7-11 and she tried to activate it online. It gives a balance but says it's an invalid card until you put in all the numbers. Tried to use it half a dozen times but it won't go through. According to the ad you buy it and use it immediately. There is no number to get ahold of ANY HUMAN. I found at least 6 numbers online but none of them get a person. If I wanted to wait all weekend to use it I could have just nixed the card. We will NEVER buy or recommend this card to anyone. The permanent card is subject to more fees which is in fact the reason why the temp can't be used. Do Not buy this card! You will be so disappointed. It's nothing but a scam. I wish I had seen the over a thousand complaints on the web before I made this stupid choice. It takes about a month to get a refund we're told so they suggest you wait for the permanent card and just spend it (???) and close the account (After getting their fee of course). Please warn everyone you know not to buy this card.

    I need to know why was my card blocked? I'm distraught. I put cash on my card to pay my bills, now I have to wait... I didn't wait to put the money there and need to know why do I have to wait. I wasn't blocked from buying the card or putting money on it so why is it a hassle to get my cash off?
