    I went and signed up for a Green Dot card, I left with a temporary card. I went to purchase something on Amazon and the card kept declining so I called grenn dot customer service because when I tried to use their online app it’s showing I had a zero balance which is incorrect. I had to wait over two hours on the phone just for the man told me there’s nothing he could do about it and hung up in my face (and this is the de-escalation team), so I called back on both of my cell phones and waited even longer. I’ve then tried to move MY money over to my Cash App card, the issue then was green dot wouldn’t allow me to they stated there was a limit of transactions each day, but if my transaction just went through the first two times I wouldn’t have reached the daily limit trying to use my OWN MONEY!

    I tried to explain that but no matter how I tried to use my card it was not working, not only do I feel like they stole my money, but they were extremely rude. Escalation team, which was a male hung up in my face. I also had to wait hours on the phone and I had to call back multiple times. I was even on hold on two different phones at once green dot is a scam. Everybody that works for Customer Service doesn’t speak properly English so they can’t really understand you and what’s going on. Once I get my money off this card, I’m closing the account and I never want to see green card again in my life. Your company lost future business. I'm reading A lot of people are having this issue, scary times.

    Greendot is a scam. They stole $300 from me. They closed my account without notifying me and then kept the money that was on the card. The call center reps will hang up on you and act like they don't know who you are if you call back. They should be out down and arrested.

    Green Dot customer service, there is no Green Dot customer service. You cannot talk to a person in any way shape or form. No matter what phone number you call online you always get the computer. It always says you to put in your card number three digit number on the back or your social security number. If you're going to use this card use it like I do. I go to Walmart. I get up at 20 bucks on it. When that $20 is gone I cut the card. Sometimes they'll charge me $10 to use the card one time. It just depends. You're too crapshoot with using this card. I would recommend stay away from it. If you do not have to get a prepaid debit card.

    Green Dot and their associated brands send these debit cards out to anyone without any formal background check (including my 18 year old daughter)! These card accounts are then used by thieves to try and re-route other people's payroll funds into the accounts, by sending fictitious emails to companies pretending to be an employee changing their direct deposit bank and account number. I have complained multiple times to the Federal Reserve due to this blatant lack of security in reviewing cardholders identity. Every time I receive one of these requests I email it to c3@greendotcorp.com which was the email I was told to use after my first complaint to the Federal Reserve, but NEVER receive any type of response. I WOULD AVOID THIS BANK AT ALL COSTS!

    I never received my $200 deposit back after I paid off my card! They kept saying, "Oh the check is gonna be sent soon." "Oh the check is gonna arrive in 10 days" and it’s been a year!! Now I can’t even get in touch with them because the automatic response can’t match my SSN. I need someone to tell me what to do.

    Green Dot is a SCAM! Do not use this horrible company. If you have money on a Green Dot card you can only transfer it to another Green Dot account. Plus they charge a fee every month stealing from you.

    I was following up on a refund that I was told that I would be getting in two weeks for stemming from January 17th 2025. I briefly spoke with Gel, the name of a Supervisor at Green Dot regarding a scammer who scammed me out of $452.31 using DTE Michigan phone number, Gel informed me my case was closed and then Gel hung up on me. Then I called back and spoke with an employee named Lauren who said she could not help me get a refund and resisted transferring me to a supervisor. Then she finally transferred me to Raj an Supervisor who gave me the corporate number 1 866-652-4611. Ex** Ex**. I let Raj know that I had already spoke to corporate and was told in 2 different phone calls that I'd be receiving a refund. I said I will also be giving honest bad reviews to social media.

    THE ONLY WAY TO SPEAK WITH GREEN DOT IS IF YOU CREATE AN ACCOUNT WHICH IS AWFUL, IT SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED.

    Green Dot insured me that I would be receiving a refund in 2 weeks from January 17th. I also let Raj know that since they have closed the case without informing me that they change their mind.... after investigating my case about giving me a refund that they said they would, and I've been waiting for 3 weeks on the refund.... I will be filing a police report, and contacting my bank USAA. I have emails, receipts, names and phone numbers that will be given to the Police, the same information that was given to corporate Green Dot that completed the investigation. I will also give this information to my bank USAA if needed. Overall, I was told I'd be receiving a refund after the investigation of me being scammed which was completed already, and here it is 3 weeks later my case is closed without notice, and no refund.

    I mistakenly sent $994 to an old Green dot card account and that's my fault. I need it back to my cash app as a reversal and they don't answer!!! This is so frustrating and like I said it's my fault but how can you deal with someone who never responds?

    This is a very untrustworthy bank if you want to call it that! I had a simple temporary hold, yes temporary. Just simply verifying my card. Green Dot tells me after I waited for a few days and never seen my money available again that they're not giving it to me for a month. They're going to hold it until next month whatever the date was because I was angry at that point and didn't hear the exact day. All I heard was month. Are you kidding me? Are you that pathetic and desperate of a company that you've got to set on people's temporary funds so you can gain some kind of interest or benefit because there's no justification and no excuse. It's 2024. It don't take that long for anything to happen or go through but you're underhanded sneaky doing what I believe is fraudulent acts and I will be looking into this because if that is not fraudulent I would guarantee that it's on a very fine line because there's no excuse.

    You cannot justify holding on to somebody's money that was a simple temporary hold. Not a charge. Nope, no charge, just hold and they released it 12 and 1/2 hours later and you refuse to give it back to me which has caused me to not be able to get my son's medication. Had I known the underhanded act was going to be done to me I wouldn't even have used this card which I am going to cut up into many pieces once I'm assured all my money is away from this place. I'm so disgusted and I'm so fed up with these companies doing whatever they please with our money because clearly you're keeping it for your own benefit. It's sure the hell ain't for mine!!!!

    Green Dot says no charges with Overdraft protection but charges $15 a day for 2 days on each charge that uses their overdraft provision. They continue to charge a monthly fee for over 2 years even though direct deposit of over a $1000 has been active that is supposed to stop this charge. They recently stole my $80 cash back rewards a week before it was able to be redeemed without explanation or reason. Constant abusive charges to hurt the user and benefit them selves. Rip Off without any benefit at all. It’s all loss always.

    This is a scam. 12 year old Daughter got the card as a gift card. I gave her the money and set up the card. Did not realize they would charge fees every month and drained the $25.00. Will not refund any money. Be aware.

    I put 2000 on my card to pay bills and when I came in from work I got a text said my account was closed so I called them and they tried accuse me of closing for 20 minutes. Well the guy I was talking to keep accusing me of closing my account and got me aggravated and he told me that because I got smart with him that he would not send me my money that was left in my account. After they closed it for no reason said it was because my account was having too many transactions. After they accused of lies for a hour now I have no way to pay my bills because they took my money and closed my account for no reason.

    This is absolutely the WORST banking experience of my life.. In the last 3 months I have lost almost $2000.00 with them.. I have filed disputes. I have filled out and sent them everything they needed for a dispute and Every time they find some reason why they can't put my money back in my account, something as simple as cancelling an online order from Walmart.. Talked to Walmart, gave them order numbers, dates transaction made, date reversal was done from Walmart and then they say they can't find the transaction but Walmart has the transaction in their computers.

    I have pic of email confirmation from Walmart, pic of canceled email from Walmart but still they say they can't find the transaction and oh yes the money was took out of my account... Then when I try to login to app it says they can't verify me as not being a robot, use another device, I do this. It then says my driver's license photo is not real. Are you serious...if you have money in an account with this bank PLEASE REMOVE IT ALL because n the end you will have an experience like mine. Absolutely WORST experience of my life.

    I purchased a Green Dot Card from Family Dollar store and I uploaded $89 and it had a name on it... now they say whoever name was on it they already took the money off the card. Y'all please do not purchase a card from the store because they are not going to give you your money back. This is a scam and they are not right!!! I send my receipt and they still talking about they can't help me... don't purchase Green Dot, they are a scam!!!!

    Given the opportunity to go back and choose a card, Green Dot Bank would not be my choice. Between them closing 2 separate accounts I have been cheated out of roughly 20 thousand dollars and they are refusing to rectify the situation. I have serious health issues and since they lied about returning my tax refund to the IRS in May I have been suffering more stress related issues than before.

    I purchased a Green Dot Card on Saturday, June 30, 2024, and put $25 on it. When I went to use my card on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, I only had $17.05. I called to find out why and was told that $7.95 was taken off due to me not having the minimum balance on it. Nowhere on that card did it say anything about a minimum balance fee! It only had a $1.95 fee that I paid when I purchased the card. This is taking advantage of people! Not to mention that the card wouldn't even work at Target for me to use the $17.05 that was on it. It kept declining. How do I get my money back? I initially purchased the card to use it for an online transaction, but couldn't use it online because I didn't give my social security number when I registered my card. I shouldn't have to. If I could give no stars, I would. Green Dot is a rip off!!!!

    Uploaded money on May 2, 2024, on May 7, 2024 they charged me a $9.99 monthly fee. This is a scam. Why do I have a monthly fee, I just got the card and uploaded money to it? Do not get Green Dot. They will take your money.

    Green Dot is horrible and bad bank. They are holding my tax return that I never had bank with before. I was trying to if I did make bank with them they transferred it they said they can’t do anything about it so I was confused because you're bank and you can’t transfer the money That is not Active because they said the account number is the number but it the difference is not active number. So I said okay just go send the money to IRS. They won’t send it back. It just sitting since February.

    I've been with Green Dot for 7 yrs. I just talked to someone in customer service about a purchase I did not make and reply no to the text asking if I was making the purchase. This is the most uncaring customer service I have ever encountered. I'm in Ocala Florida with 2 13 yr old girls for vacation and I leave tomorrow to go back to Indiana with 30 dollars cash to my name when I even have my entire paycheck in this account. I'm so scared that something is gonna go wrong. I even offered to pay for the charge and leave my card alone. They are uncaring and actually they just don't care. Oh and had to pay a 15 dollar fee to get it expedited. This card is terrible and I don't recommend using greendot for anything.

    Avoid this bank like the plague. I opened an account with them and had SSDI deposited for two months. On the second month I was using my account and and received a text stating my overdraft protection was suspended even though I never activated it so I like whatever I don’t use it. Then I get a text my account is overdrawn by 41.00. So I call them and the automated system says my card is closed and I can’t request any more cards from their bank, then tells my balance which was in the positive which I knew. Then after an hour on hold then I’m told that my account was closed due unusual activity. So asked what the unusual activity was and they couldn’t tell me. So I demanded a supervisor who after reviewing the account with me couldn’t find any unusual activity so transfers me to another department who supposedly could remove the block and get my account re opened.

    I speak to for half hour. He then tells me that due to unusual activity he cannot reopen the account and my only option is to request a refund. I then ask again what the unusual activity was and he tells me that due security policies he cannot tell me. I request a refund he tells me he is emailing me form I need to fill out sign and return with a picture of the front and back of my state identification and wait three to six weeks for the refund to be processed. I then ask what happens to my direct deposit that’s in a couple days, he says they will accept the deposit and I will then have to request a refund for that and 3-4 weeks and they will continue to accept the deposits until I can get it changed and I will have to request a refund for each deposit

    I wanted to leave a review on Greendot all together, because at this point, they are just stealing people's money and it's beyond disturbing and pathetic to know they get away with it. I purchased my card a month ago and right after the purchase, I couldn't even activate my card. Like ever. So I was wanting a refund and I called the number on card. They gave bogus information on where to send screenshot of receipt and card so they could refund my purchase. And they never did. I literally sent almost ten emails with pictures and they kept refusing it saying unable to confirm but my pictures were very clear. Please do not purchase Greendot bank cards, Greendot reloads, none of it. They are stealing people's money really bad now and you won't be able to get it back. Similar to Cash app.

    One must be well seasoned in the hardships of life to endure the Green Dot prepaid card without experiencing a loss of innocence and dignity. Be prepared to turn around, bend over, grab your ankles, and brace yourself. The ungentle oligarchs who own this bank have zero empathy for their customers who they know are already struggling financially. That is the primary reason why people become Green Dot customers in the first place. My card refused my very first transaction. I had to wait on hold on the phone for hours before getting some lubrication for their violation. But the lubrication did not make anything go smoother. They have it all set up in their favor already. Once you let them penetrate your financials they aren't going to let up until they get what they want. Save your dignity and your financial colon. Don't buy a Green Dot prepaid debit card.

    This company literally doesn't care if people are using their account to scam others. I get asked to change direct deposit information all the time from scammers pretending to be my employees. I can always call the bank and let them know, and they freeze the account immediately and ask me to forward them the emails I received. I called Green Dot today to let them know that 3 people fraudulently tried to scam employees out of their paychecks and Green Dot won't do anything about it. The guy basically said..."Well that sucks for them" and hung up on me.

    Hello, My name is Theresa ** and I am writing to you to express my frustration with the way you have treated me. On October 5th, 2023, I received a tax payment into my account, but on the same day, my account was locked. I was informed that I needed to upload my ID for verification, which I promptly did, and my card was unlocked. However, when I tried to activate my card, I was told that my account was locked again without any explanation. I am confused as to why my account was locked twice when I have done nothing wrong.

    I called the 1800 number to inquire about the issue and I was informed that my ID was the reason for the lock. I have attached my ID once again for your review, and I don't see why I would send a fake ID. I have also found that other people have had similar issues with your company online. I tried to find your office online, but I was unsuccessful, so I made several reports online. I even went to my local IRS office, but they were unable to help me. I would appreciate it if you could investigate this matter and help me resolve it. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

    On September 8th 2023 my Walmart money card app got hacked and they took $500 dollars from my account and then on September 14th 2023 less than a week later they took another $500 dollars out of my account while I was at work. Then I got a call from Walmart money card and it asked me if I changed my password and I said NO so I called Walmart money card and I disputed the 2 transactions and they told me they would send me 2 separate checks in the mail ,1 for my remaining balance in my account and 1 for the money taken out of my account (total of $1000 dollars taken out), said it would be 7-10 business days to get remaining balance.

    It's been 3 weeks now and that the investigation would take 90 days and then they would send me the $1000 dollars that was stolen from me. I called them as soon as the 7-10 days passed and now they are saying I won't receive any of my money until after the investigation which takes 90 days and I need my money for bills. I even contacted BBB.

    I've had a greendot card for almost 15 years and have never gone through anything like this. Just like thousands of others, my account was hacked or there was a glitch with fraudulent charges on the account August 5th 2023. They cancelled my card. Said they were sending a new one. That was August 5th!!! I just received a card that actually works on September 14th!!!!! To say that my life is in complete and utter ruins is an understatement. I'm probably going to get evicted with my 2 children because my rent, which was in the account, was weeks late because I couldn't get my money.

    I missed multiple days of work because I had no gas money, I had to borrow money from a loan shark with over 300% APR because I have children that need food to eat. Not to mention that leading up to this I was already way behind on everything and can't afford to live just like everyone else in this country because of the Traitor in Office and his puppet regime. So I'm just trying to get the word out so no one ever uses their services again and hopefully they will go out of business, If anyone has any idea if there are any lawyers that might be taking a case please announce it. Lastly the money stolen from my account still has not been put back. Never again. I'm praying for each and every one of you that has had to go through this because I know how devastated my life is. And I know I'm sadly not the only one.

    Words can't describe how horrible this bank is. It's been couple months since they locked my card and won't give me my money which is a few hundred dollars. Several emails back and forth everyday and keep saying the same thing, "We apologize for the inconvenience caused. We’re sorry to know your card hasn’t arrived!" With no results. This is unheard of. It's like they want you to give up so they can keep your money. Hold time on the phone 45mins or longer for them to tell you more lies like your card is on the way and you never receive it and the only way you have access to your money is to receive the card and activate it. I have never been more frustrated in my life. Now I know what fraud feels like.

    I have had this card for a long time and recently got a charge to bed bath for $95 in a different state. I called the customer service & they told me I have to send in a dispute form and I did and then I went back to the account to check the date and it disappears on record. Good thing I took a screenshot of it and a screenshot when it was taken off and the math doesn't add up. They declined my dispute saying it never took place, when I have proof it did and money is now missing.. another incident after this I tried charging $38 for movie tickets and got an error on screen but the money was taken out and I called customer service and they said it will take 3dys for my money to return back since it didn't go through to purchase tickets. This also disappeared and the money was not given back.

    I took screenshot that it showed pending and then transaction was removed but money wasn't given back. Will be looking to get an attorney to fight this ongoing scam and will notify the media as well and will share on YouTube.. If people get this card and their money is gone this has to be put to a stop.. They should not be a bank at all if this is one of the biggest scam.. People work hard for their money and for some stupid reason it gets freely taken.. This will stop in the name of Yeshua.. Will be praying about this every day for others to get there money back..this will not go on.

    I loaded a temporary card up with $500, tried to set up an account and they claimed since I couldn't verify my identity (which I gave all correct information) they could not provide me with a card, so the temporary card I got didn't work and I had to wait THREE weeks to get a check in the mail for my $500! I had to go to Walmart, waste my time standing in line at their check-cashing center and got ripped off with a $3 check cashing fee. Do not use Green Dot! They are a COMPLETE SCAM!
