I was over my limit by $20 and I didn't make a payment in May, June, and July due to financial difficulty. They accessed charges at $291 for over the limit and late fees. They charged $29.95 for late fee and $29.95 for over the limit, which makes it $58, and when I made a payment of $60 on August 31, 2009, they want me to make an additional payment of $80 by Sept. 7th or I will access another charge of $58 and will bring the balance back over $800. And the minimum they would allow is the $80. I don't have that. I told them that I would make another payment by Oct. 7th and they stated that the balance would go back up $58 for the payment of Sept. 7th. I need help with this.

This is concerning a credit card. I pay my card on time, and more than minimum every month. I had two more payments to pay off balance. I got rewarded for this with a 6% rise in interest rate. Then, in July 2009, I sent payment of $100. I started to get harassing phone calls all hours and days from them. When I got my August 2009 statement, it states that I paid $1 in July. I called them and said that they entered the wrong amount. Nothing they could do was their response. I got them to remove $35 late fee, but now, I have a higher balance and three months to pay off the balance instead of two. I believe that they did this purposefully to keep me from paying the balance off.

This bank continues to call my phone at all times of the day seven days a week. I have never had contact or done business with this bank. They appear to be picking random phone numbers to harass. If you type their phone number, 866-372-2508, into the computer, you'll find hundreds of complaints about this company from people like me who have never even heard of this bank until the harassing phone calls started. Only one time was a message sent to voice mail and it was some guy yelling and ranting and raving so much I couldn't even understand him. I doubt that anything can be done, but this company should be put out of business. No consequences other than harassment for no reason.

When I first got this card, I had to pay a very large fee. When that was paid off, they said they would send a report to the 3 credit ratings to let them know I had been making payments on time and my credit score would go up. This never happened. Then I put insurance on the card in case I wasn't able to work. Then in October 2008, I found out I had cancer and needed to be off working starting in January 2009.
I called the card and asked what paperwork I needed to fill out, and they screamed at me in broken English (Indian) that I couldn't file any papers until I paid everything off on my card. And they kept asking if I'm filing bankruptcy. I told them no, and they still won't give me the papers and I only had a bill of $125-$140.00 balance now. After it's gone to collection, it's $650.00, for which the collection and Credit One call my house 5-7 times a day.

I'm a disabled person and only have this credit card limit of $200. My ex-husband, after 17 years, knows about my accident and 2 brain operations, and calls me and asks me where he can send money for his son and me. The only card I have was this and I gave him the number. He made a transaction of $5,000 on December 4. Since this time, my life was in all day stress. I opened an account in Regions Bank for that. People make a transaction of the money that was like in credit. This was one week ago. Until now, they have not made any transaction. Yesterday, I received a letter that said "Call urgent." So when I called, they said that the card made by the manager of the bank was not valid, so they were thinking of closing my account. Is this legal? Why did they steal my money and my son's money? I think this Christmas is going to be the best after a long time, but for these persons, it will be the worst. Please help me. I know I'm right.

On August 4, 2008, I was contacted by the credit card company to pay off a credit card which I had that was over the limit. The current Balance at the time was about $550.00. The representative I spoke with was Bell. We came to an agreement that if we paid $370.00 at that time, the credit card would be cleared. She said that she was waiving a total of 6 fees that included 3 late payment charges, and 3 over the credit limit fees, since my card was is in good standing before I had some financial difficutlies.
On August 21, I had an emergency, and thought I would be able to use my card. I checked my balance, and it said that I owed 151.00 and my available credit was 48.00.
So I contacted customer service. I dont remember the rep that I spoke with at that time but she was very rude and nasty. She said that there wasn't any agreement notated on the account. I quickly found the document that the company sent to me confirming the payment of $370. On the 23rd I contacted the company again, trying to find out exactly whats going on. They still showed no record of an agreement.
So basically they swiped my account for $370, and I get $48 out of the deal. I spoke with a supervisor Omar, who didnt know what he was talking about at all. At first, he told me that there was a note on the account to investigate what the $370 payment was for, then seconds later told me that there's wasn't anything notated on my account. I asked to speak with his superior, and he got very nervous and began to stutter, saying that no one was available, and someone would contact me on Monday.
Being in the situation that I am current in financially, I do not have $370 to just throw away. They quickly debited my account on August 4th, but are not quick enough to investigate whats going on. I think this company is scamming consumers, and its not right at this time with the shape that the economy is in. Something must be done.

I wrote to the credit card company to cancel my card as was what was on the back of the bill I received and sent to the appropriate address since you could not send it in with your bill. This was in April 2008, I am still receiving a bill for the annual fee, which according to the reverse side of the bill you could cancel. I waited until the July Bill (the card was paid off in June) and was suprised to see a balance for the annual fee on it and it was due 8/3/08.
I called the customer service phone number in the upper right hand corner and discovered that I had to call another number which was 101027500, instead of hanging up and calling I listened to the rest of the message. Incrediably they continued on with the message that the call will cost you $5.00 which would be charged to your phone bill. I filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and I am hopefully going to hear something in the near future. I can't get ahold of anyone to cancel the card and am getting frustrated because if I don't pay it I will pay interest on this and be reported to the credit bureau!

I have had a few occasions where I needed to talk to their customer service reps and they have been rude and inconsiderate of my situation. I've even noticed that when it comes to questions regarding billing and payments or FEES...They laugh into the phone with a chuckle or sigh as if they are making me some kind of private inside joke. I'm sure I make more per hour than any of them will ever acheive in their careers yet they make their so-called Customers feel like we are way beneath their time and trouble when we call for assistance with our cards. They are ruining our scores and making us pay them to get richer.
Fees are killing me, they take my payments and keep assessing late fees even though I've called them to address my situation. They keep transferring me when I call, only to be disconnected and when I call back they have no idea of what I'm trying to explain. They snicker and laugh into the phone and make me feel as if some kind of joke is being played on me even though I can hear them laughing. They constantly please hold and the next thing I know...I'm disconnected again. They outright treat me as if they do not care about my situation, all they want is my money at any cost to ME.

I was looking at my bill and i noticed the statement closing date is on july 3, 2008 I recieved my bill on July 11,2008 and the payment date is on July 28,2008. This only gives me 17 days to pay the bill. Isn't there a 28 day payment cycle.
They do not give me enough time to pay this. 17 days is not enough time.

I moved in Feb 07--in Oct 07 I received a statement and realized I had missed a payment. I paid my account up to date and asked that my address be changed and also my phone number. They only changed my phone number. Last week I was contacted telling me that my account was past due. They could not really explain to me why. I asked that a supervisor call me. This evening I was contacted again and asked for a supervisor as again they were telling me I was past due and going over limit. I have not used the credit card in over a year. I paid it up to date and have bank records that I have paid, however I was told that the collections part of the company did not have records that I had. I again asked to speak to supervisor and could not convince the representative to transfer, I told her to shut up and to have someone call within 30 minutes.
After 2 hours I called back and tried to explain to them what was going on. They then said they could see what the problem was. My payments were more than I was sending and I owed $89.OO, overlimit fees, late fees etc... I asked that a history be sent to me, however they could not do this as I do not know the account number. Once my card expired I destroyed it knowing I would not use it again. They then transferrred to customer service saying they could help me, they asked about the card and I told them and they said sorry I can't help you.
I neglected to say that they changed my phone number in Oct but did not change my address, so I have not received a statement since then. I am 43 years old and have never made a negative complaint but really think this needs looking into. Thank you

This is a credit card, who has charged me exhorbidant fees since I opened the account. It seems every time I pay them, there is a charge for paying them. When I don't pay them, they charge the most brutal interest, and harass me on a level that interferes with my personal and professional life. My account is closed, but they are still charging the highest possible interest rates they can.
I have a large debt owed to them now, which I fear is going to compromise and damage my life from now on. Buying, renting, leasing anything will be next to impossible because of this company.

Credit One Bank is HORRIBLE! I closed my card with them because the interest rate was TOO high (23.9%). After closing the account I see beginning August 07 my interest rate went to 34%, Sept 36.54%, Oct. 39.95%; Nov. 42.89% and December a WHOPPING 51.5%!! Can you believe and I have NEVER been late on this card or any other!! Beware anyone wanting to get a card from them..

My 18 year old son was solicited for a student credit card from Credit One Bank, with a $200 credit limit. He applied for the card and received a bill for 74.75, a $69 enrollment fee and $5.75 for a prorated annual fee of $69. He called to cancel the card and they said, very rudely, that he had to pay the fees because he used the card once before he got this bill. (This charge was not on the bill.) He sent a letter contesting the charges and we haven't heard from Credit One Bank since then.
I can't believe that this kind of practice is legal. They are taking advantage of the financial naivete of college students. And even with all this going on, yesterday in the mail he received a pre-approved platinum visa application from the SAME bank. The fees are listed on the back of the form - no mention at all on the entire front - and the entire back of the form is printed in gray type (the front is black and colored type), making it very hard to read.

Was going to be a little late with payment. Trying to let them know but there was no email where they would accept incoming email and no phone number. The only address was the one where you're only suppose to send payments. I'm getting ready to send the payment but have been harrassed constantly with phone calls. Even tho it's been explained to one person, I still get phone calls and some are nothing more than a recording and some are coming at 11:30 at night. I've tried to let them know but they fel if they bully they can get me to pay faster that this Thursday.

I had recently changed employers, going from a weekly paycheck to a monthly paycheck. Coming into the new employer at the end of the pay period, my first check was nearly nothing. So I had to work a full month to get my first real full paycheck. I suspected this would cause problems making credit payments on time, so as most creditors say to do, I contacted them to discuss my need for a late payment.
Credit One Bank, formerly First National Bank of Marin was one of my creditors that I was going to fall one month behind (at the MOST) with a payment. Numerous times I contacted them with an update on the exact date that the account would be brought current. The account went to collections on day 1 that I was late. Automated collections calls started.. day after day after day. Up to three times per day an automated system dialed my home, placed whomever answered on hold until a live person could come on the line to remind of the past due amount.
I contacted collections about the numerous calls and was told it was all automated, and the calls will continue to come DAILY until the account was brought current. Even though they KNEW when the account was going to be paid, and an electronic debit was scheduled, they claim there was NO WAY to stop the automated collecton system.
