I have had this card for nearly a year. I damaged my credit on my early 20's and was looking for a credit card to help me rebuild my score. So far, this card has been exactly what I needed. I keep my balance low (around 20 percent); I pay more than the minimum payment. I never wait until the last minute to pay. I pay as soon as my statement is available to me.
My credit score has come up and they have given me regular credit increases. The only way this company will not work for you is if you are irresponsible. Plain and simple!! I have never had an issue with payments not going through or getting lost. I have never had their website crash. I have never had my card denied anywhere. If you are using this in moderation to rebuild your credit, you can't go wrong.

I have bad credit due to collection accounts. Only Credit One and First Premier will issue me a credit card which is necessary in order to re-build my credit. I decided to apply for a Credit One card because First Premier sets borrowers up to default on their credit cards with multiple fees and a 36.99% interest rate. Credit One has a first year fee of $75 which after the first year becomes a $6.25 monthly service charge and 23.90% interest rate.
I understand that I'm a poor credit risk to credit card companies and that I must make at least the minimum monthly payment on time to keep my account in good standing. It is also a bad idea to max out the credit limit. This card is a chance to show credit worthiness and should be treated as such. I am grateful for a chance to rebuild credit and to not have to do business with First Premier.

We have tried to cancel our cards with no success, have paid the bills in full, never late and can't get away from the monthly fees. I thought it was capital one when I received it five years ago; but, did go ahead and give it a chance and it's been a nightmare. Since I have called over and over again and cancelled the card I still get a bill every month. Then my husband and I had just let our cards expire then not renew them. Well that does not work either. This is the ONLY company that you do not renew your cards, they do!!!!! I need help how do I get rid of these people without ruining my credit????
Does anybody know what course of action that we need to take from here? They are charging us a fee for two cards, a yearly service fee monthly and an insurance fee that we never asked for so with a zero balance our bill is $29.81 a month and nobody that speaks that I can understand or doesn't get angry and hangs up that is with the company.

I have a series of five transactions that have been declined in the last week. Each time I call, I am told my declines are due to risky businesses. When I ask for a list of risky vendors, they are unable to provide that list. Keeps trying to placate me by talking about fraud protection. My credit limit isn't high enough to really worry about that. I keep trying to use my card and having it declined consistently makes me lose face in the community. Is anyone else having that issue? It smacks of Big Brother making decisions for our own good.

Never had the card and I never applied for it, then back in Nov I get a call from their customer care center stating that they wanted payment then. I told them I never had the card and I wanted to dispute all charges that were made. The Hindu gentleman that called me started to call me some choice words and hung up on me. I haven't heard from them since so I figured they dropped all the charges and now all of a sudden I get a certified letter from them stating unless I pay them, they will sue me. Um hello, where is my paperwork I asked for back in Nov?

Customer service sucks... no one listens to your complaint... they talk over you and all they want to do is apologize and say I am sorry! They do not help in any way and the managerial personnel sucks also!!!!!!! They do not help either!!!!!!! When I told them what my balance should read, they said I see this amount. I told them I can read, how many people call and tell you their account balance is correct?????? Please beware of this company as they are scam artists and will take you for every cent that you have. They need to be shut down and the Attorney General's Office in Nevada needs to do this.
They are a fraudulent company that charges high interest rates and charges your card for no reason. When I asked them what the last transaction was that I made they could not tell me. So right there they are fraudulent billing practices. Please do not get caught in their web!!!! They wanted me to tell my friends and family about the credit cards and I told them I would not give it to my dog (which he is smarter than they are).

Have had card a couple of years. This weekend everywhere I tried to use it, it was declined. Gas stations - so I called they said the merchants were considered risky and Visa was declining them. So I thought I'll try Kroger’s. Declined. Call them back, they say Kroger's is risky. So I told them to close the card, since I can't use it anywhere. She got mad and said but you have a balance are you going to pay. I just want the card cancelled. I will continue to make payment. She was not very happy and neither am I!

When I first got approved for this card, it was to rebuild my credit. Yes like everyone else it seemed great. Increases on credit periodically. I started seeing fraudulent charges on my statements. I called them and tried to work with them on getting these charges taken care of. During this I discovered they had sent an additional card to the thief that was using my account. When I called to inform them and to cancel that card, they acted as if I was the criminal. After months of fighting with the credit card company, I am still attempting to get the account closed and be done with this company.
EVERY month when I receive my statement, I have more charges on it. I have cut up the card, told them to cancel every card they have in my name (that they sent out to the wrong people) and to not authorize ANY transactions. I call every month and every month I get nowhere with these people. IF YOU WANT A CREDIT CARD TO REBUILD YOUR CREDIT OR FOR ANY OTHER REASON, DO NOT PICK CREDIT ONE. The time and stress that comes with this card is not worth it. It is easy to get approved for their card. Like I have always heard, if it's that easy WATCH OUT!!!!!

Received a letter in the mail telling me I'm pre-approved for the card. I'm looking for a card to build up credit so why not? Well, I get the card in the mail and the same day get another letter stating that my information was used for fraudulent applications!? So, I call customer service and they explain that they send those so they can get more information to verify my identity. Ok I guess. So the lady tells me to send over a copy of my SSN and utility bill. Ok so I send it out June 3. June 5th I get a bill for my UNACTIVATED card. I call them up again a few days before the due date asking if they got my information. Nope. I was told to call again the week after. So I gave them another 2 weeks.
Called today July 2 and guess what they got my information BUT still need more??? This has to be the dumbest company ever. Seriously and I can barely understand what the customer service guy was saying! Needless to say I told the guy to close the card and that I wanted nothing to do with Credit One Bank. Then he tells me it’s not his fault I didn't send the correct paperwork! Really? Horrible.

DO NOT GET THIS CARD. THEY ARE A BUNCH OF CROOKS. I made a payment by using the express payment. They charge you $9.95 to make a payment. Supposedly if the payment is over $100. The $100 should be available to you the next day. Instead they took my money and placed a 8 day hold on the card. Every time you call, you will speak to someone who barely speaks English. They will tell you a bunch of lies and you will receive a different lie from a new representative every time you call for the same situation. SO SORRY I TOOK A CHANCE WITH THIS CARD. Will be paying off the card. CARD has already been cut up. DON'T DO IT. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.

Got pre-approved for 1,500 on 3-01-2014. Yay, mind you I’m thinking this is Capital One!! 3 weeks later, got a letter requesting more info, mail it back. I’m still thinking this Capital One because I have credit with them. I said wait a min. Why they requesting all this info if I’m a customer with them? I called customer service, 2 weeks later! OMG what a experience. I knew right there this is not Capital One Smh. We have so many English speaking people out of work and they have the nerve to bring in cheap labor non-speaking English customers services to help us when they don't even understand what we saying.
Well the card arrive on 6-07-2014. Yes almost 3 months late with a credit line of 300 and they charge 75 before the card was activated. A bill arrive a week later. Mind you, I haven't activated the card yet. They called and email me a week later trying to sucker me into activating the card - like it was the best thing for me to do with all the platinum benefits & I was going to miss out hahaha... lol jokes on them. Lots of people like to complain about Credit One Bank but what they are failing to realize is that it has a very specific purpose. I don't even think credit one bank will give credit to anybody with average to good credit, its ONLY FOR BAD CREDIT PEOPLE. The fact that you have a card (like me) means your credit was screwed up. Whether it was your fault or not, does not matter. I personally could not be happier with the card. It has served its purpose for me, and at the 1 year mark I will be asking them for a couple things:
2) Waive all card fees
3) Lower rate
If I do not get at least #1 and #2, I will cancel on the spot. Regarding the card, I still could not be happier, but now that I have other higher limit credit cards it's time to fire Credit One Bank. It has served its purpose and I am very happy but now that my credit is in the $600's and I'm getting better cards. It's time to let them go instead of complain like everybody here.

My husband and I opened a Credit One account this year to help improve his line of credit. We had a foreclosure in the past. Last week, we had gone away for our anniversary and put a $75 hold on our card for room charges, TV, bar tab, etc, on June 9. The day after checking out of the hotel, Wednesday, we called Credit One and were told the hold would be released in 24 to 48 hours from checkout. On Friday, we again called as it had not been credited and were told that ALL holds are kept for 7 days and our card would be credited June 17, which was 8 days from the initial hold. Today, June 17, still no credit. I called and was told that holds are kept 7-10 days. At which point I confront about the other two times being told. The woman states that it was a misunderstanding on our part. Actually I know online it stated the 17th. So I say "So you are guaranteeing that the credit will be there Thursday, the 19th, which is ten days". Her answer "It SHOULD be. Sorry for any inconvenience". We don't want to take a hit to our credit, but if this is how they lie, then as soon as the card is paid off we will be cancelling it, and they were informed of such.

About three years ago I started rebuilding my credit. I started out with 2 secured credit cards and made on time payments for over a year. I wanted to add an unsecured credit card to my portfolio so I went with Credit One. My credit was still shaky at the time and I felt this was the best route for me. It took a while to receive the card. That is my only complaint. I have read some of these posts and it really sounds like a nightmare for some people. My advice.... read the fine print. It's not a very wise move to apply for credit with a bank and not know the terms. Very unwise.
I received my card and of course on the first statement was the annual fee. It was $75 which is exactly what they told me. I made sure I made on time payments and every payment I submitted posted when they promised and was available when they promised. Knowing there is a difference between posting and availability, everything went as expected. I used this card strictly for recurring monthly accounts like my gym, Netflix and Pandora and I used it responsibly because IT IS a rebuilding card for people who have BAD CREDIT and those cards can carry fees and penalties.
I am now closing my account but again because I read their terms and conditions, I understand that after I make my last payment there may be a possibility of a balance BECAUSE they charge interest the day after you make a purchase. There is no 30 day grace period and they state that. This was a great card to help me get my credit straight, and because there are severe penalties and fees for late payments, I learned to take care of business properly and use it responsibly. This was not a bad card.

I made the decision to get this card in order to work on building my credit. However, I must admit that my card fell behind twice. Once I was able to get it up to date, payments were on time and consistent. Recently I have been trying to make purchases, but my card kept declining. I decided to give the company a call to find out what the issue was. I was told that my account was closed. I asked the rep why they did not send a letter or a notice of this and his reply was we did! They never sent out any notice. He then told me to hold while he checked my account and then he responded by saying that they do not send out letters or notices of closed accounts.
I'm highly upset with this company and the poor customer service. A notice or letter would have made me feel a lot better instead of being embarrassed by my card declining, and misleading account stating that everything is active and up to date.

I applied for a Credit One Bank card since I had the chance of getting a limit up to $1500 which is the typical or higher for me. They approved me for $500 and so I didn't even take the card off of the original paper (attached with that sticky stuff.) I received a BILL after about 2 weeks of having the card NOT ACTIVATED. Looks like Credit One Bank charges you $75 annual fee even if you don't want the card and and $6.95 for selecting the design. I AM canceling this credit card. I will be calling Monday to let them know. We will see what happens when I let them know I am not paying for a card I did not activate, nor use.

I have had this card for over a year. I paid it off and started using it again in I believe, January. I make payments on-time (although they are never processed on time), and usually make $75-150 payments every time. The company has started losing my payments and hanging up on me when I offer to fax them the proof that I paid them and they took the money from my account. They call me to the point of harassment weekly (illegal), never correctly identify who I am (illegal), are stealing money from me (illegal) and refuse to fix their mistake.
I am thinking I will need to play hardball with them and hold their balance over their heads. I have an $800 limit and despite paying without fail every month, well, over what I owe, I somehow still have a balance of $750. I will soon be able to pay them off, but I think I will need to tell them they can either fix their mistake AND credit me no less than 2 late fees (that are their own accounting department's fault anyway), or they can go to hell.

I recently purchased a credit card and received it the second week of May. My bill is due on the 2nd of June, 2014. Around the last week of May, I started receiving calls back to back from this company. Finally I spoke to a lady over the phone that was demanding payments in full. I told her that I had just made a payment of $25 over the internet but she constantly demand that I pay the full amount right now and told me to provide her with a credit card right now. So after getting her told over the phone, she later hung up on me. I got back on the phone and spoke with a supervisor and told him what happen and he informed me that I will not be getting anymore calls.
Well, since that has happen, I do not feel comfortable with this Credit One card and I will be cutting the card and paying them off. I do not need that drama. I have poor credit (about 590). When I was a teen I had a credit card. I overdrafted by a couple hundred dollars, had an issue with Sprint bill of about $200 and then lost my job in my early 20's causing my car to be repossessed. Add a deferred student loan and no other credit and you can't get a credit card from anyone... EXCEPT Credit One Bank. I had to pre-load the card with $300.00. Every month without fail I attempt to log into the website to make a payment and receive an error message that my account has been 'suspended'. This started to happen on my second month! I have made multiple requests for them to fix their website since then and at this point it appears they are purposefully locking the site when payments are due so that a late fee can be charged.
Interest is high and I do NOT recommend getting a credit card with this company. The only thing this company has done for me is get me offers from better reputable companies. If you absolutely cannot get a card from anyone else I suggest only using a VERY small amount of credit in order to lure in the GOOD companies, then do everything you can to pay off your balance and cancel the card immediately. But honestly, even that is not recommended as I see the charges for just $10.00 in gas rack up and aren't worth the fees you pay.
Customer service hasn't been rude but they don't help resolve issues. IMPORTANT TIP FOR CURRENT CUSTOMERS: if you see the site is 'down' or 'suspending/locking' your account, create a new id and password every single month before your payment is due to get into the account. It's the only workaround that has helped me to make payments as customer service is of no help. I'm cancelling this card in the next few months. Good Riddance!

Just as a note, I have had these 2 accounts opened for over 10 years.
I called then called their customer support and got transferred to some overseas call center and tried to explain that they must be having some issues with their payment systems. They then said that I was processing payments on closed accounts and that they had closed my account. To avoid any issues I paid the account with my debit card so that it would not be delinquent.
They said that if I send in proof that my accounts were not closed that they will address the issue and reactivate the account. I kept asking to speak with a supervisor regarding the issue and explain that this seemed to be problem on their end and with much frustration could not get an US person on the phone. I have been working with Credit One for over a month because two payments got returned due to an incorrect routing number on online payments. I have called at least once every 3 or 4 days with no help whatsoever from the Customer Service Department. They said I had to send a bank validation letter- which I did immediately after they told me. As of 1 month later, they have no record of me sending the validation letter- told me to wait 3-5 more days and check online again to see if my account had been taken off suspension.
They told me this two days ago and I checked CreditKarma.com today and lo and behold they have closed my account? What a scam! My payments are all up to date and the ONLY issue I ever had was the wrong routing number on two payments I made IN THE SAME MONTH to try and bring down my balance in good faith. It was a new bank since I had moved and yes-this was my error but I contacted them immediately once I figured out that the mistake had been made. I guess it's good they closed it. I will pay it off and NEVER EVER EVER EVER work with them again. Such bs!
I will be calling them first thing tomorrow to let them have it and ask if their primary business policy is to LIE to their customers and tell them the letter probably was just getting processed and approved and to wait a few more days. Yeah - so you can close my account on a Sunday when I can not contact them immediately. They had to have known that my account was due to be closed for whatever fraudulent reason they had imagined up when I called just a few days ago. GOOD RIDDANCE I HOPE CREDIT ONE BANK COLLAPSES AND IS NEVER ABLE TO DO BUSINESS AGAIN! The man I talked to was very helpful and successfully canceled my account. I got the letter in the mail confirming that the account was canceled and all fees were canceled on the online account. My tip for those of you that were able to get out from Under "Credit One Bank" is to apply for a "Capital One Journey Card". It has no annual fee, 1% cash back on every purchase you make and access to a higher credit line with your first 7 monthly payments. That is what I did and was approved for a line of $300. It's a great card with great benefits! Just a suggestion!

I obtained this card about 8 months ago, just two months after my bankruptcy was discharged. I had to pay a fee of $75 I believe when my first payment was due. They immediately upped my limit from $300 to $500 without charging me a penny. I pay my bill in full each month or at least as close to zero as possible. The payment takes about two to three days to credit now. Initially it took up to a week.
I like the card. It's a Visa and it's harder to obtain a Visa. Most of my other cards are MasterCards so the Visa has come in hand when certain types of establishments will only accept Visas. Also, the card has helped improve my credit and my scores have gone up quite a bit over the months. I am expecting another credit line increase soon. Thanks Credit One Bank for giving me a second chance! Yes, I may be paying more for this subprime card than I would pay for a prime card however this card will help me climb the credit ladder so that I can have another Amex, Citi, Bank of America, Chase card, etc.....

I received a credit card and used it. I paid it off and was advised that I was being charged an additional fee. I refused to pay the fee. After one year I checked my credit report and found it shows an outstanding balance of $430 owed to LVNV Funding in Houston. I called to discover Credit One had sent an account to collection under my name for an unpaid balance on the credit card. When I asked what the balance was for the collection agency said they did not have that information, only an amount that will continue to grow at a 20% interest rate. I guess Credit One has the authority to send to collection any amount they dream up under a person's name and it never goes away? Where does one go to complain about this scam?

I've been charged $25.00 late and I've never even received a bill. This is the first one. They're saying my balance on the bill is $109.48, and I have never used the card. I come home from work about 9:00 pm on the 25th of April and had this in the mail. Tried to call and could not reach anyone about this, and I'm furious about it. But if that is the only problem, plan accordingly. On a positive note, my credit score has gone up over one hundred points. You need to STOP complaining and pay your bill and make this card work for you, not you work for it. Use the card like a debit card not a credit card. That said, pay the bill in full and use the card to pay your bills. If your limit is $400.00 pay the $400.00. Then pay your phone, cable, gas, groceries, then pay it again on the next pay and repeat. Again make the card work for you... STOP complaining...

I have read numerous reviews about Credit One bank credit card. I find it quite hilarious that people are complaining about paying their bills on time on only a 300 dollar credit limit... The card was designed to provide credit for those who do not qualify for a higher credit limit with lower APR rates. The card charges a fee because those who apply usually have bad credit. The Bank protects itself from default by charging you fees that it can recoup in the likelihood that one defaults on their credit. They also call you if you are late because the majority of Credit One card holder have a history of defaulting or not paying their bills on time.
There is no scam whatsoever. It is a financial product that provides credit and emergency money for individuals who need it. It is a tool that if used responsibly can help rebuild one's credit. Responsibility is key to effectively getting the most out of any credit card product including Credit One Bank. Once an individual pays their bills on time and keeps a low balance, Credit one will reward you buy raising the limit on the card. This should only be used to build one's credit back up. Once your credit score is an acceptable range 670+ this card should be cancelled as you will qualify for much better Credit cards that will provide a higher credit limit with low APR. Responsibility and spending within one's means is key.

You incur annual fees charged to your account before you even receive the card in the mail and before you activate it. Also a selection of design of the card is charged. This total is about $109 out of maximum amount of $300 credit line in which only $75 can be taken out for cash. The interest is 23%+ which is ridicules. When you call an obvious American number you will find that you are talking to some scammers in India who are rude and are trying to get more personal information from you.

They then said sorry to hear and hung up. A few days later a letter showed up from them asking for a copy of my DEATH CERTIFICATE. They obviously have freaking morons working for them as they cannot understand "OUT OF THE COUNTRY" and take that as you have died.
There is not 1 single email address to contact them, only 800, 866, and 877 numbers. I wasted $50 on cell phone charges to contact them so I could tell them they messed up and I was alive and trying to make a payment. Since they closed my account immediately, I was not able to make a payment. They did want me to return to the USA get an affidavit signed by a notary. Now since I was out of the country and not to return for quite some time, I had no way of doing this whatsoever. The account went to collections, and was eventually paid off after I came back home.
At this time, and the account has been paid off for about 6 months now, they have marked the account as charged off, even though I have paid this account off in full to them. I said that's weird I just made a $75.00 payment not more than 3 weeks ago and they would waive the late fee. My problem with this credit card company is that THEY SOLD ME A RATE INCREASE... I BOUGHT A $150.00 CREDIT INCREASE AND THEN 2 WEEKS LATER, THEY CANCELLED MY CARD. THEY CLOSED MY ACCOUNT. They said I had a return check in May, and supposedly one in August and part of their Credit Card agreement is that if you have a return check they cancel your credit card.
I checked my bank in May – None. In August, I paid a day too soon - of which I did have a return check and they canceled my credit card! It's funny, when I see that it was returned I made an ACH Payment $169.00 and there was no problem. They NEVER TOLD ME MY CARD WAS CANCELLED. I found out when I went use it and when I checked my account. They blocked the website so I couldn't make a payment. I called them, they unblocked my account and I asked them if there was any more problems with this account and was told no. I went to make a payment again and they had blocked the website again. I called them again and they let me know that they suspended my account until I provide to them the last 6 months of my bank statements of which I DO NOT FEEL 6 MONTHS OF MY STATEMENTS THEY NEED!
So I am talking to this woman (Very nice), she suggest that I talk to the Supervisor and this guy Dale gets on the phone of which claims to be a Manager. And he begins just talking over me and down to me… telling I don't pay my bills, trying to talk over me. I cursed at him, telling him to shut up and I asked to speak to his manager or someone in his legal department so I can get this resolved, because of all this BS, it has dinged me 46 points on my credit report.
The Idiot tells me I am not going to talk to anyone. I will deal with him, that all I have to do is pay my bill. I DO NOT RECEIVE STATEMENTS ANY LONGER, AND I DO NOT KNOW WHEN THE DUE DATE is. He tells me I am full of excuses, nothing but excuses as I am telling him to get someone in his legal department. All I want to do is take care of this and move on. Again yelling over me. He tells me NO, that I will do with him.
I told him what Credit One did was ILLEGAL. You can't sell a Credit line increase and then close account a few days later for something that happened the following month or 4 months prior. He REFUSED TO ALLOW ME TO TALK TO ANYONE BUT HIM REGARDING THIS CARD. AND HE REFUSED TO ALLOW ME TO TALK AND ALL HE DID WAS TALK OVER ME SAYING DEMEANING THINGS. After being approved, I was mailed the card. I was extended the minimum credit limit, although I have other cards. Initially, I thought it was a Capital One invitation. THIS WAS MY OVERSIGHT, I take full responsibility. I have since been approved and accepted a Capital One card, and I am happy with their service to date. CreditOne has their logo branded that way for a reason. Had I realized it was not Capital One, I would have further researched this company and passed.
I did not receive a statement. Called the number and was told I would be charged an additional $9.95 to make payment. I did not approve that. I would wait and mail a check... They were going to cut the PAYMENT FEE in half...again, NO thank you. They waived the fee. In a very difficult to understand dialect, the rep insisted to me that we were GOING TO UP my payment by $25.00. Um, NO. I'm making more than your minimum, I've NEVER been harassed by any company to UP my payment amount...
The first representative then handed me off to a Customer Service Specialist... WHY? I don't know... AFTER another few minutes, he passed me off to Customer Service Specialist two, and person number THREE, who ONCE AGAIN INSISTED I UP my payment by $25.00. Perhaps if I would have received a statement, I would have paid the entire balance, but what I pay is MY choice. As I was on the phone, I began searching reviews, because I was appalled at the phone conversation. My BIGGEST CONCERN was reading reviews of customers that had JUST paid off their balances and to their surprise, the card was used fraudulently.
CreditOne DID NOT remove the fraudulent charges, the customers were held liable. Of course this was in the reviews, and I have no documentation, but multiple users explained the same situation, raising a red flag to me. I was on the phone and wasted more than 25 minutes just to make a simple payment. No thank you. There are PLENTY OF GOOD companies that will assist you in rebuilding your credit, Victoria's Secret is one, and they are great to deal with. They offered me my first card following my divorce...! And it looks pretty good on me, and I would say give it a go!
In my personal opinion, I would say... Think twice about this company. If you can afford all their FEES, put your money away and get a prepaid credit card from your bank. It's YOUR money AND you can rebuild your credit, with NO OUTRAGEOUS FEES!! Their fees are VERY HIGH... There are other cards with more moderate fees, better customer service and reputation. Customer service is contracted in India (not a bad thing, but come on, if your an American Company, Outsourcing customer service is pretty low). Even DirecTV discontinued outsourcing after years of problems and complaints. Reps are hard to understand, and that's just a fact, not an opinion.
I'm not calling this out as a bias, I had to ask a few times to have something repeated. There was never once in MY conversation a "Thank you, excuse me, or how can I help you...?" That goes a long way with ME. Unpleasant to deal with, and take A LOT of your time...(how much are YOU WORTH an hour), and a hard sell to increase your payment... For me, NO THANKS. I will not use this card any longer. Thanks, but no thanks. - Feb 09, 2014

Also this company is located in India. It is almost impossible to understand them and very frustrating. Do not deal with this company and their harassing phone calls.

This is a Validation of my account because Credit One failed to notify me in time before my account was closed due to the wrong account number put in on your site. This is horrible service! I just now got this letter in the mail on today Jan 21, 2014 that is dated January 4, 2014. It took your bank 17 days to notify me! This is counting non-mailing days such as holidays and weekend. It should never take that long! How is this good customer service to not inform me sooner nor call me or electronically tell me??
You close my account with this notice I got only today saying this is the first time it happened and if it happened again you would close it. I physically just got the first notice and you have already closed my account??? Nonsense. I made two payments and it said thank you for my payment. It said my payment was successful. How am I supposed to know it wasn't successful? Then yesterday I am told I can't make my payment online because my account is suspended which I also didn't know until yesterday when I tried to sign in. Because you prematurely blocked my account I was charged an extra $9.00 processing fee.
This is real fair. I am then told because of your failure to contact your cardholders in a timely manner that I have to go through the trouble of physically mailing you validation that my account is validated. I am speechless. I will be spreading the word on how your bank is unjust and the hassle it has been to deal with you. This is utterly ridiculous. I will be paying off this card immediately and I want nothing to do with you. I signed with you because I wanted to rebuild my credit and found you as a reputable company by reading reviews but what a mistake that was.

I've had CreditOne Visa card for almost seven years and was NEVER late to the point they kept increasing my limit (for a fee, of course). I started with $300 and gradually went up to $1425. This past December was the first time I made the payment on the due date and it successfully went through, just like the previous 69 or so months. Days later I went online to check on the posting of the payment, I found out that it did in fact post on time, however, there was a $25 late fee.
I called the number on the back of card and an Indian woman answered the phone who told me that even though my payment was made on the due date, however, it was received 2 HOURS and 50 MINUTES late and that she couldn't remove the $25 late fee. I told her that I had been a customer in an exceptional standing for almost seven years but she still refused to waive the late fee at which point I asked her to cancel my account effective immediately.

Unfortunately, I can't get a rep who speaks or understands English therefore cannot understand my issue. I pay an annual fee, I no longer use this account, it served its purpose and helped me re-establish credit. I called to have the account closed, and will continue to pay off balance, I double and triple the minimum payment, they agreed but they still want to charge me a monthly fee of close to $9.00, an annual fee for using the card. I asked if the account is closed and I am NOT using it, how can you charge that fee? They could not answer. So they are continuing to charge that amount monthly, again a fee for "using" the card. What can I do?!

Without going into detail, 2013 was the worst year of my life. I was considering bankruptcy but decided to call my creditors and try to work out my finances. ALL of them with the exception of Credit One was willing to work out payment plans and defer late fees to allow me to pay my bills off without filing bankruptcy. I was asked to borrow money from friends and family members and if I had something to take to the pawn shop. Capital One on the other hand deferred late fees and accepted payments of $25.00 a month to allow me to catch my bills up. I have worked and earned my own money and paid my own way since I was 13. It is killing me to think I may have to default on this loan or file bankruptcy. It does me no good to pay what I can if they are adding a 35-dollar late fee every month.

I asked them to close out the account and they charged me another late fee to close the account even though I made the payment on the 16th of the current month. I would never use this Institution for any reason, not only that but I called them 7 times and asked to speak to an agent in the USA.

Oh, and don't bother misplacing your card because they will try and charge you $50 for a new one. A few months ago, my card was hijacked and used for purchases at Best Buy (like the others on this page), the equivalent of "Seamless" in Great Britain, other charges for cash advances in Las Vegas (where they say their corporate headquarters is, but it isn't, according to another poster - I have yet to confirm this), other charges in India, and several other charges. I live in Brooklyn and was nowhere near these places when the charges were made. I called right away, when they told me I had something like an $800 balance on the card, when I had not even used it. I expected to use it to build credit, so I always paid it off right away after small purchases. When I called, like all of the other posters here, I was sent on a long chain of speaking to many "supervisors", none of whom were passable English speakers. None of them could help me and seemed angry at me for not paying the bill. I told them there were fraudulent charges, and they told me, like the other posters here, that I would have to wait 90 days until their "fraud dept" could look into it.
I suspect that their entire company is the "fraud dept", so they should be experts at this - all. They would not allow me to speak with anyone about this problem and hung up on me. I didn't pay the bill, of course, as it was not mine to pay. In addition, and take note everyone - the same card I used to pay off the balance at Credit One was also compromised at the same time. My identity was stolen and I had to change my cards at my own bank. It was a huge pain, with other fraud charges at my own bank from the same locations as the ones from Credit One (just like other posters here). Naturally, I don't want to pay them a dime. This is seemingly a scam company. I waited the 90 days and they miraculously removed the $800 charges, but now they tell me I owe them interest and late fees!! They also claim that they can't produce records of these charges so I can see what they are. They explain they were charges from before my card was stolen, in addition to the late fees ($35 per month and interest!) because I should have been paying them all along(?)
Any decent company would have put a hold on the account and gotten to figuring out the fraud right away. In addition to this, after my fraud report, I asked them to close my account (Chase would do this automatically) but they kept it open, and more fraudulent charges accrued! I had to ask them three times to close the card, on three separate calls. Apparently, it is now closed. Also I had a credit limit of $300 on the card, yet, they allowed it to go over the limit to more than $1000 to accommodate these illegal and fraudulent charges. Of course, I am not going to use my newly reissued card or any check from my bank account to reveal anything else about myself to them to pay them any "Late fees" or "interest" - especially on fraudulent charges, and I am certainly not going to pay them anything without an itemized bill.
This is like someone sending you a bill in the mail for no reason! They kept telling me they were recording me "for quality purposes". I informed them that I, too, was recording them. They didn't like that, yet oddly kept talking to me even though they said "I could not do that". I asked under which law, and they said it was against their company policy. Well, it is against my policy to be treated this way. I recorded them because they consented to be recorded in recording me. At least I have some evidence now. I plan to pursue this legally and would love to start class action proceedings with anyone here. They need to be stopped. I also reported them to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Please google this and report your stories about Credit One. They allow you to upload recordings, images and text pertaining to your case, and then forward these to the company for an official "response". I'm awaiting the response.

I’ve had this credit one card since February of 2013 and only used it for the first time in October. I kept wondering when I was going to get my first bill and then on November 18, I received a call from their collections department. I explained to them that I had not received a bill in the mail or via email. They said they could not understand that because all of my info was on file and verified accurately. I relented and assumed it must have been my fault. I then asked for a received confirmation that if I paid the bill in full at that moment, the past due charge of $25 would be forgiven.
The next day I went online, verified contact info and enabled email notification and subscribed to paperless statements. At that time I was presented with an offer to increase my credit limit, because it was noted I now have excellent credit and accepted it. So today December 9, after remembering that I had not received a bill from them I went online only to find out that the charge was not forgiven, and that I am past due on the $25 past due amount, but no statement is available for me to view online and I did not receive one via email. I call and of course I must be a liar because everything checks out on their end.
I asked to speak to a supervisor and after several different and lengthy holding cycles she says that someone will have to call me back. While I was on hold I start researching this company and find out that this pretty much seems to be their practice. I will be paying off the bill and probably the past due amount, but I will have to stop using this Credit One Bank and will waste my time reporting them to the State Attorney General, BBB and anyone else I can, which will probably will have little to no effect. This place is absolutely terrible. I lost my job back in 9/2013. I got an offer in the mail from Credit One stating, "You've been pre-qualified - $300 limit." Something told me it wasn't a good idea, but at this time I had no choice... I didn't have a job yet and I had bills I NEEDED to pay. So I got the offer in the beginning of October. Before I even got my card, I got a statement stating I owed $75.00 for the activation/start-up fee. "Yeah, yeah,” I thought.
So, I finally received my card 10/18 and make my car payment that night. That night is when the calls began. And it’s been nothing but calls ever since...starting 6am ending 12am (if I'm lucky). The first time I answered, the man was pretty nice...Until I told him I couldn't make a payment yet, then it got bad. I explained to him how I lost my job and had no income and he went crazy..."If you have no income, why apply for card?"...Like that was any of his business.
But I nicely explained, "Your company offered me an account with you, knowing my income situation." He continued to say, "I understand you have no money. Let’s go ahead and make a payment with your debit card of even a dollar for your account." By this time I started to get very annoyed..."Sir, I told you, I have no money whatsoever to make a payment to you. As soon as I get a job and have some sort of income, I will make a payment to you and I will get this card paid current."
Well, he refused to let that be the end of the conversation. He continued yelling at me about me not having any income and how I needed to make a payment, how he would continue to call me every day until I made a payment and waste my time as I wasted his, blah blah. I hung up on him, sit my phone down, come back maybe 15 minutes later, 25 missed calls...no voicemails. 25. Are you serious? I never called back and never answered another call that night (Oh yes, they continued).
Since then, every day, 20+ calls a day but no voicemails with why they are calling. Let me just throw in that I have only received 2 statements from them, the $75.00 and the most recent from a week ago. I am not the kind of person to have patience with harassing phone calls like that. Well I'm guessing they caught on to me never answering their calls and started calling from other phone numbers or restricted/blocked numbers (again I do not answer any number I don’t know). I would answer every once in a while and try to explain the same thing to each and every person I spoke to, but I'm guessing they didn’t understand.
It is now 11/30. I am at work. I look at my phone, sit it down, 3 minutes later go to pick up my phone and have 5 missed calls...GUESS WHO. Yup, Credit One. So finally, I call them back. When I called, a lady answered. I asked right away for a supervisor. She continued to get all of my information, SSN, DOB, address. I asked, “Ma'am I'm not speaking to you about anything. Why do you need ANY of my information but my name?” She did not say another word and transferred me.
After being on hold for 8 minutes, a gentleman answers and states he is a supervisor (sorry, couldn’t understand him to get his name - or hardly of anything else he said). He asked how he could help me. I started, "Well sir, with you being a supervisor, I wanted to inform you, if you are not already aware, that your employees are harassing me on a daily basis. I would appreciate it if you could put a note of my file stating to not contact me by phone." He says, "Why don't you want to be contacted?" Well, because I am aware of my balance, I am aware my account is late, I am aware of all credit report issues (as I used to work for a credit reporting agency). When I am contacted and decide to answer - I am treated like dirt, and when your company tries to contact me, well...they don’t stop.
Normally, if someone doesn't answer the first time, it means they aren’t available or they don't want to answer. Your company will contact me 20+ times a day, one call after another and I find that to be harassment. He says, "What, they call you 3 times today? I'm sorry are you asking me or telling me how many times they called." "Asking I guess, if that is wrong." "18 times." He says, "So what are you calling me for?" By this time, I'm ready to flip out!!!!" I said, “Sir, I want your company to stop calling me!" He says, "I don’t see any attempts in our system for your number today." ARE YOU FREAKIN’ SERIOUS?
"Well, SIR, your system is incorrect ! I can email you a screen shot of all the calls if you'd like. I would also like for you to make a note on the file that I will be making a payment within the next two months to pay this off, so there is no need for anyone to contact me." He then said he would make a note on the file. I asked him to help me cancel/close my account. He told me he’d have to transfer me to customer service. Then...HUNG UP. I called back. I asked the rep that answered if there were any notes on the file and if she could close/cancel my account, and she stated there was not a note on the file and asked if there was anything else she could help with...before I could say anything else, she transferred me to "Customer Service".
I finally reached a woman (I did not understand ANY names). She asked what I needed. "I need your SSN & DOB." "No, I'll give my card number." I told her I needed my account closed and she asked why. "Well, I don’t like your policies and your customer service sucks, not to mention the harassing phone calls." She didn’t say anything else but, "Your account is now closed." "Please put a note on my file to not have any more phone calls." "You have now been removed from the call list, you will no longer be contacted by our company," & hung up. DON'T FALL FOR THIS!!!!! I’m praying she really closed my account and she better hope I do not get any more calls!

So, when I received a call from Best Buy questioning the mailing address of my new X-box, I immediately called Credit One to report the fraudulent charge. When I got to my computer, I logged into my account, to see my card maxed out with charges from Vietnam, Hong Kong, Cyprus, Great Britain, & of course the US @ Best Buy. I went through 3 customer service representatives. First, Credit One never contacted me about these psycho charges from around the world. Secondly, they will not take them off my account until they snail mail the merchants and ask for a written letter as to the circumstances of the charge. The process takes 90 days. I am going to Italy in 28 days. Now I have no credit card. Lovely. Angry is an understatement. I fought a good fight. I decided to call them back nightly.

I just had the worst experience with the customer service at Credit One. I never had a problem with them before because I had always paid my balance on time. I recently got married and changed my name. I couldn't make the payment online because the name was different from what is on my bank account. I tried to call and explain this to them. After several attempts to speak to someone who would be willing to help me. I spoke to a very rude "supervisor" who was only interested in collecting my payment over the phone for an additional fee. I tried to explain that I didn't want to make a payment over the phone just to have my name change so that I could pay online and avoid the fee. After that unsuccessful attempt, I hung up extremely frustrated.
I recently called back to try and attempt to change my name and after 6 representatives informing me that they would transfer me to someone who could help, I was finally transferred to a representative who informed me that they would need documents proving that I changed my last name. I tried to get a fax number for faster service to resolve this issue and cancel this card, but instead I must mail the documents and pray that they make the changes. I have had this card for over a year now and never had a problem. But this was so amazingly horrible that I will cancel the card as soon as I am able to. I cannot believe the hoops that I have to jump through for a simple change. I also have a Capital One credit card and I must say, they never gave me any grief about a name change. Their customer service is always friendly and helpful. I will stay with them.

Made several calls to Credit One Bank to complain about two unauthorized charges on my credit card and was told to send a letter to their dispute dept. This occur August 2013. I send two affidavits to the dispute dept. and spoke with several supervisors and reps all to no avail. I have been told five times in three months that they didn't receive my affidavits. I then wanted to speak to a manager and I was told all the computers are down and they can't look into my problem... I then asked for a fax number and was told that they didn't have a fax number.... BE careful, sounds very, very strange to me. I refuse to pay for the charges and have cancel my account with them as there is no one to speak to in case of a problem >>> JUST getting the run-around.

I have a money card that I pay my bills with, but for the last two months my partner (bf) made two payments for me using his cards (2 different) and they process the payments; no problems. Now there are saying that if I don't provide letters from his banks and my money card/debit card stating that the accounts belong to names on the card by mail in 25 days, they’re going to close my card and report it as fraud! I don't understand why a supposedly legit company does not have a fax line or cannot call the companies themselves to verify the information! How outdated are they?

My wife acquired one of these credit cards after she had declared bankruptcy. The hook was that she could restore her credit through use of this card. She has had this card now for over 9 years, and has paid faithfully on it, never having been late. First thing she noticed when she received the card was a $75 membership fee on the card, which was promptly paid off. She began using the card and paying the balance in full, but every month there was a monthly user's fee of around 9 dollars a month. After the card had been used for a number of years - and she was an active user - she decided to cut back on credit card usage. After four years of minimal purchases, the balance was reduced substantially, and she received a nice letter from them saying the credit limit on the card had been raised, and to apply for it, which she did.
Our monthly payment had been $25 a month, and she had set our computer up to pay a week early for that amount. Well, she didn't know it, but the payment had gone up to $30 a month, and the computer had paid the $25 she had set up. She received a late payment notice even though she had sent them a payment (it was short $5) and they socked her with a $25 late fee. Almost immediately, they began calling from India or the Philippines demanding a full payment plus all of the fees, even though the next payment wasn't due for another month. She told them of the error and said she would send them the $5 immediately if they would take off the $25 penalty. Of course, they refused. She asked to speak with a supervisor, and got another person in India, and when She had trouble understanding him asked for a United States representative.
Well, it seems they don't have any offices here in the US - only a post office box. They are incorporated here in the US, but it appears from their parent name, Bank of Marin, that they are foreign, and she was unable to find any more information on them yet. They are incorporated in Nevada. She has been told that even though you may cancel the account, you continue to accrue penalties in addition to the interest due. She is scared now that even when the account is paid off and cancelled, she will continue to accrue interest and penalties, resulting in more harassment and threats. What can she do?

Applied, approved. 12 days later, card arrived. $75 in debt from the get go. Paid the $75. Used the card, paid what I used on payday x3. So I used the card 3 times in one month, paid 3 times in one month. Log-in to check account, it's suspended. Call Credit One. They want my bank to provide a letterhead verifying my account. Has to be sent through the mail, not email. But they will request your bank/payment info right over the phone? So now, I've been without the ability to see my account. See how many ridiculous fees they've tacked on and not until they "verify" my account will they unlock my online account? Ridiculous. So, trying to rebuild credit. I pay my card off each month in full. Recently, I discovered fraudulent activity on my card and notified Credit One Bank. I was told that it would take 7-10 days to get a replacement card with a new number. I said that was unacceptable and was then told it would take 3-5 business days. I said still not good, most other companies provide a replacement card overnight, if requested. I was told it would take 2 days but they would charge me $20 to get the card! I said absolutely not and asked to speak to a supervisor. I was placed on hold and then the same person came on and said "this one time, we will waive the fee." I said the fee should never have been an option to begin with.
I filed a police report and called back to find out where to send it and where to get an affidavit to sign to assure them that I had not committed the fraudulent charge and I was told that it would take 30-90 days to reverse the charge out. They wouldn't give me information on filing an affidavit, either. I asked even if the company that received the fraudulent payment reversed it out and credited my account? They said it didn't matter, they weren't going to expedite the process for me.
I had also noticed a charge for transfer of balance that amounted to $9.99 more than was previously on the account even with the fraudulent charges and asked about that. They said it was a payment fee. I told them that I had just made the payment and the fee for $9.99 was ALREADY part of the payment amount so they were duplicating the charge. Speaking to these people is like talking to a foreign robot. They have no idea of customer service and they use every opportunity to take a bad situation and make it even worse by creating bogus charges. I am going to get this mess straightened out and pay the few dollars I had legitimately charged on my account and close this thing. This is the worst, most frustrating credit card company known to man. HATE, HATE, HATE them.

This is the BIGGEST mistake I've EVER made. I was attempting to repair my credit and thought that opening this credit card would help. WRONG! The first couple/few months were fine. Then, in September/October everything went to hell. I discovered that someone had gotten ahold of my information. They changed my log in info, changed the address, and ran up the bill. They even went so far as to make a payment to continue use! I immediately called the company and was advised that the card would be cancelled, the fraudulent charges would be reversed, and this situation would be under "investigation". (They returned only the very large payment that was made, but not the actual charges).
However, two & 1/2 weeks later I still do not have the new card and when I log into the website the card is STILL being used and has now gone $300+ over the limit! The 24 hour/7 day a week "Lost & Stolen card department" is actually NOT 24/7. Now, I'm left to wait until Monday morning to call and hopefully get this corrected. It has been my experience with other credit cards that the company will call you if/when they notice out of the ordinary card activity. Not Credit One. I hardly use the card, so the only thing that give me rise to contact them was when I couldn't log into the website.
My credit is totally shot by this and I could care less about suffering the negative credit reporting by closing this card.

This company is a scam! I applied with them and from the beginning, it was a joke. Received the bill with $75.00 charge before I even received my credit card. Then was being charged a late fee for not paying on time. And when you call to complain and cancel this card, you get these people that can't speak English on the phone explaining things that make no sense.
My credit is not perfect but I did have a few credit card with credit limit $1500 -2000 and been paying in time. When I get their offer #1 it looks like Capital One Bank - same color and same logo. My understanding was it was a Capital One. I would never accept the offer from Credit One. This bank just wants us to be late with paying to charge us again and again. And problem is, they will give you $400 credit limit, then they charge you $75.00, $25.00 late fee, $9.99 monthly fee plus interest, plus transaction fee. So before you know, you have to give this scam a donation of few hundred dollars.
When you try to talk to them, your credit will be in more trouble. My credit cards cut the credit limit to $100.00 because of this scam bank. And you can’t close this card. You will pay this card off, but they will charge you $9.99 per month even if you not using this card. You try to cancel, they will charge 25.00 late fee on this 9.99. I need to get out of this card. Would love to get people together and take this company to court. Anybody with me on this? This company has to close down because they are basically robbing people.

Most people who have bad credit will find that Credit One is the only non-secured cc that they'll qualify for. After the effects from my divorce left me with terrible credit, and a prospect of potentially struggling finding jobs due to that fact, I found Credit One would extend me credit (only $300 to start), but I didn't have ANY credit cards, so this was a good way, I figured, to begin re-building my credit. I would routinely use the card for things like gas and groceries, then pay off the balance twice a month (every time I got paid, I'd pay off the balance). It worked for a while.
I've never been late on a payment or otherwise had any other issues (outside of being terrible to deal with for routine issues on the phone)... until this week. I just moved cross-country on my own dime for work. My payment is late by less than a week. For the first time ever, on Wednesday, I got recurring phone calls, but no messages to explain, nor prompt me to call back. Finally able to answer, the rep on the phone asks me about my account and explains that it's past-due. "I understand," I tell her, "I just moved cross-country, and money is really tight right now until I get paid on Friday. But when I do, you'll get at least $200." My minimum payment was $45. "Ok, that's great, but let's free up some money now. How much can you pay today?"
I repeated, "I'm LITERALLY eating ramen noodles right now because I have single digits in my bank account. The trip broke me. I can barely afford food, so you guys will have to wait until Friday. I can't do anything any sooner than that." "I'll make note of that. Can we set that up today to come out as soon as you get paid on Friday?" "Of course." "Can we make it $250?" At that point, I hung up. Friday came and I scheduled my payment through the bank (less though than I'd originally planned), which most likely because they only take hard-copy checks, the bank has to mail it to them, so while today is Tuesday, they still haven't received the money. I got more calls throughout the day today.
"Ma'am, we're calling about your Credit One account that is past due and has a balance of..." "Yeah, I set up a payment on Friday. You should receive the money within the next day or so." "That's good to know and I'll make a note of it. Is there any way you could take care of a small payment today?" "No. Why would I do that? I'm already paying you what I can afford... which BY THE WAY, is more than what is due by more than double." "I understand, but your account is past-due now, so taking care of a small amount will bring it current." Most companies will understand if you're a first-time offender and having some legitimate hardship but doing all you can to make it right. Not only were they terribly unforgiving, they were quite simply rude. It seems as if these people are reading from a strict set of scripted scenarios.
As further testament to the terrible quality of this business, I had my name changed back from my married name to my maiden name. In order to make the change reflect on my account, I was told that I had to mail (postal service - not EMAIL) a letter signed by me, with both names and some further documentation to an address. I was given no confirmation when my letter was received, and after three weeks, I called the customer service line to follow up. The agent was of no help and said that the only way I'd know if my name was changed is if I see it changed on my account when I log in. No option to fax, call, or email. So I waited, and waited.
Over a month passed, and I think when I noticed the change it was nearing two months. Do I get a new card? Nope. I have to pay $25 for a replacement card. I didn't lose the damn thing... I've replaced other cards for the same reason, and NONE of them charged me. As much as I hate this company, I'm conflicted as to if it would be in my best interest to close the account. As I understand it, having credit cards for a long time is good for credit, but if I close it, it would reflect badly. Grrrr!! Oh, the monthly "Annual Fee" is some fun to see pop up every month, too... along with the "Credit Line Increase Fee." These guys are making a fortune off of all of us. I really hate this company.

Had nothing but problems after I've had the card for three months. The first month, before the payment was even due, I got harassing phone calls and finally had to tell them to get somebody that wasn't lazy and pull the payment down because my bank showed that it was paid. I've now had the card for almost 8 months and the drama continues. I paid way over the minimum that was due and they have yet to apply the payment but yet and still they're charging "finance charge" fees, over the limit fees, and late fees. They will call and argue with you about what you have in your bank account, until you ask if they want a copy of your bank statement (yes, I went there). Then they'll say "that's not necessary."
If you're smart DO NOT apply for this card. DON'T even look at the website. This company isn't worth the ground that they're sitting on, let alone the plastic that they produce.

I only gave Credit One a star because there's no icon for a vulture or black cloud to click. I opened an account with credit One in an attempt to re-establish my credit after some hardships and unemployment that negatively affected my credit in ‘08-‘09. So in August 2013, I received an offer in the mail from Credit One and with the logo and appearance I thought they were a dummied down branch of Capital One who I'd had an account with before and had a good experience with in the past.
Make no mistake, Credit One is NOT affiliated with Capital One. I've had all of the same problems as previous reviews. Rude incompetent outsourced customer service. Problems with payments posting/receiving. From Sept 12 - October 12, I have received 106 phone calls to my cell phone at all hours ranging from 8:17am to 9:00pm and anytime in between. This is for a card with a $300 credit limit, outrageous annual fees, late fees, hidden fees, and fees to pay your bill; there are literally fees for everything.
Do not make the mistake I made; steer clear from doing business with this company. It is NOT a good way to rebuild your credit but will do more harm than good. This company has No interest in its customers. I could go on but it would just be redundant and has already been said in previous complaints. Do yourself a favor, avoid the nightmare and shred any offers from Credit One. I am in the process of paying this card off and closing the account after just 2 months; the complaints below have me worried that even that will be a problem.

I thought the balance that is shown when logged in is the actual balance but it is not. It did not show the 22% interest charge for every purchase made. Prior to closing my account, I have to call and get the pay off amount, much like paying off a mortgage. I ended up owing a couple hundred dollars for interests during the past few months which was not yet billed. First, I returned some ink to Staples. They put the credit card, Credit One (CO). This was done on 6/28/13. I kept looking to see the credit and it never showed. I called Staples and they assured me that they had applied the credit and the bank sometimes take up to 30 days to post it. Then I called CO. They said it could take up to 60 days to post. End of August, I called CO again and was told they never received anything. I went to Staples and they printed me out a paper with the Authorization Number of the transaction that shows that the bank received the credit.
Called CO again and was told to fax a dispute letter in so that I would not miss the deadline for filing a dispute (as if I had not been disputing this since June). So I faxed them a dispute letter and the printout that Staples gave me on 9/5/13. Spoke with Kevin at 10:00 am on 9/21/13 and was told that they received my fax. I can't remember why but I ended up talking to his supervisor Allen (employee ID Number **) who said that I should receive a confirmation letter in the mail stating that my fax had been received (never came).
On 10/4/13, I called to find out the status of my complaint and was told that there was no complaint! After making five requests to speak with an American, Bill (I think) put his supervisor on. It took her about 30 mins. to find out that the fax DID contain a dispute letter! I went through all of this for them to tell me that it would take them 60 to 90 days to resolve it. But my payment can't be one (1) day late! AMAZING!!!
To make bad matters worse, my due date is the 4th of each month. I made my payment on the 4th. I looked at my account on the 5th and saw a $25 late fee. It showed my payment posted on the 4th, the late fee posted on the 4th??? So I called about this! John, Employee ID Number **, said that I did not make my payment before 5:00 P. M. Pacific Standard Time!!! Can you believe that??? I am cutting these cards up, burning them AND flushing them!

I have a Credit One Credit Card with a low limit. I was grateful to be approved as I am working to rebuild my credit and improve my credit score. Last month I paid off the balance of $392 in full, made the payment online with my debit card. I had not looked at my account for a few weeks, but I knew the payment went through as it was showing on my bank statement. With that said, imagine my surprise when I went to log on to my account this past Monday to find it has been suspended!
I immediately checked my bank statement to confirm that the payment went through, it had. I called Credit One to see why my account was suspended. Figuring it is a mistake, I PAID OFF THE BALANCE!!!! What could be the problem. The rep that I spoke with informed me that my account was suspended because of the "large" amount of the payment and that they needed a letter on company letterhead from my bank to provide evidence that this is my account and the payment came from them. I was astounded to say the least.
I asked the rep several times to help me understand, "you have my money, the payment went through 30 days ago and NOW you want me to send proof from my bank". I escalated up the chain several times with no success, and was left more frustrated than words can explain. I contacted my bank and they pretty much had the same reaction as I did, disbelief. This is insane. At this point I am all for closing that account. I know it will hurt my credit score when you close down an account, but I do not want to do business with these people any longer. I am more angry at myself that I did not investigate them more closely before I said yes to them. My mistake and not one I likely to make again.

I have had this credit card agency since May 2013. I have to say this has been the worst agency I have ever had to deal with. When I signed up for this, I made sure that I could have a billing date of the 1st of every month being in the military and this is payday for me. The person (not English) I spoke with said this wouldn't be a problem. Little did I know this would be the beginning of numerous disagreements every month with these people.
Problem 1: They never honored the pay date as the 1st of every month. Instead they denied they ever made such an agreement, resulting in a $25.00 late fee every month. Problem 2: These representatives called my phone so much to the point I had to block the number. I would get a blocked call starting at about the 26th of every month and would receive approx. 25 calls per day.
Problem 3: When I would go online to make my payment, after noticing the late fee, the payment would never process resulting in me having to call the company and complain. They would then charge me $9.00 for making a payment via phone. This was only waived once and that was after a long drawn out argument about wanting to speak to an American speaking representative. Problem 4: Because of the credit limit that I have with Credit One and through all of the finance charges, late fees, and over the phone payment charges, Credit One Bank has managed to spend more of the credit balance than I ever could.. When I brought this to their attention, they denied this and said that this is what I agreed to with horrible attitude!
I look forward to cancelling this card, but first I have to wait 24 hours for my current payment to process. Mind you late fees process within hours, pay off the remaining balance.... wait for 24 hours for that to process before I can then call and cancel their service. Oh, by the way, they said they would have to charge me $9.00 to pay final balance in order to cancel the card. Please think twice before accepting this company's horrible business!!! It's not worth the money they make off from you in the end.

I started with Credit One Bank in 2007 and at first I was making my payments on time and qualifying for credit increases (big mistake). This is how credit card companies wheel you in to being in debt. In 2011, I had some financial setbacks and tried making arrangements with Credit One. But they would not accept the arrangements, then I joined CareOne Debt Management to consolidate my credit card debts. Credit One would not accept payment from CareOne and continued to return the payments (I have the statements). Credit One continued to charge late fees and a monthly annual fee, which would total approx. $44 a month. The payment CareOne was sending was $25 a month. Interest gained was $15 a month. I continued to reach out to Credit One until the customer service representatives would become so rude and inconsiderate.
I sent Credit One a certified letter which explained my situation on March 8, 2011 and another one in November 2011. Credit One would not closed the account so that they could continue to add fees each month. Payments have been sent to Credit One thru my debt program from 1/26/11 to 9/26/13 totaling approx. $1153.68, but my original balance with them was $418 and my credit limit was $425. On March 18, 2013, Credit One sold my account to LVNV Funding for $912.74, which adds a 20% fee each month. I have over paid Credit One how can I dispute this and have this off my credit? Thank you.

After a few months before payment's due date, the calls would start. From 8:00 am-9:00 pm EST. The calls come to my home and then cell phone about 2 minutes apart. This happens every 50 minutes or so non-stop for 13 hrs. In the spring and 8/2013 it was so bad, I threatened police action as I sat there with a bill not due.
Early today on line via debit, I paid my monthly bill $50.00 a little more than due on 9/3/13.Then no sooner the calls started, I finally answered saying that bill's paid. I'm good until 10/2/13 on web it's there too. Then, they started asking me would I like to take care of my entire remaining balance of $286.00? How can we take care of that today? What's your card number? Could I have your debit card now? Repeat call after call every 50 minutes or so by individuals whose English is questionable at best.
One foreign woman went as far as to suggest I could pay and use their card as my debit card. I replied, “Why would I want to do that?”I can't wait to pay this off and never have to deal with these global extortionists again. I heard “Ma’am, Ma’am” as I hung up on her. Her name was Linda. I opened a card with Credit One Bank years ago when I was 19 years old. I paid them on time everyone. 4 years later, I couldn't pay it no more so I asked them that if I paid them in full, if I could cancel my card since I couldn't pay them any more and they said I wasn't allowed to cancel with them. My balance went up to $1100. Since I couldn't pay, they decided to sue me this summer. Now I am in the process of paying their lawyers and for some reason, they are stating that I had a job. I never worked before and never reported that I worked to Credit One. I've been disabled since the age of 15 and been on disability ever since I was 18. Like everyone else, everyone who I talk to from Credit One was foreign.

There are 3 reasons that I know that this Credit One Bank is not the card for me: fees, fees, and more fees that my other cards do not charge. I've maintained a zero balance with Credit One Bank over the past year. (1) Each month they charge me an $8.95 charge on my 0 balance for reasons I'm not completely sure; (2) They automatically charge my card a $30 late fee at the start of my payment due date and reverse it off my account if a payment is made by close of business; (3) They have been offering me a limit increase over the past year, but in very small print they notify me of a fee if I accept--who does that! I just paid my last $8.95 today (on a zero balance) and will be closing my account as soon as it posts.

I have had my card for six months plus and since the first payment inquiry, I have not been happy. None of the credit card customer service reps are English-speaking which makes it very hard to understand when the phone number you call them on sounds like it is under water. I have been late for the first time this month and I've gotten a call every hour on the hour seven days a week. The first 5 days of which I was in the hospital. The guy was so rude the first day. He would not let me even explain my situation. He just kept demanding my checking account information and I told him it was overdrawn and that is why my payment was late due to my stay. I would not take any calls from them after that issue.
I got a prepaid Visa and tried to pay them with that. They told me it would not process and again demanded my checking account information. After about 40 minutes on the phone, I also called back to cancel the card. The lady heard my complaint and said to me, "Is that the only reason, because of customer service?" I told her, "Yes it was." She also told me it would be reported to the Credit Bureau. I told her the company was unacceptable and decided to take this approach to see what help or advice I can get to help me. I also think the company is doing business as an overseas company with an address of CA and NV. Please help?

Credit One is reporting a fraudulent card to collections. In July of 2012, I received a Credit One credit card in the mail, claiming I had applied for it. I immediately called the company and told them that I had not applied for the card. I was told no police report would be necessary, and it could be canceled before activated, eliminating the $94 annual fee. In the months following, I heard nothing from them, and assumed it was closed, until it showed on my credit report. I called several more times over the next year, until last month (7/2013), each time being advised that as of 10/3/2012, the "investigation was completed" and I was not found responsible for any card activity.
Still, it remained on my report, and so finally, this month (August 2013), I opened I dispute with the credit bureaus. Now, it is being reported that in 10/2012, rather than being closed without and recognized as a fraudulent account, my account was charged off to a collection agency. We are currently closing on our first home, and this will keep us from doing so as it has severely impacted my credit (I have an otherwise perfect payment history). When I called Credit One today, they told me that their notes indicated what I had been told previously, that it was closed and no fault of mine, but I cannot seem to get any help in proving this! I cannot get a letter, or have them report again. How can I get this corrected??

I too had the same thing happen to me. My boss got a voice mail telling me I needed to call a 866# and give them a claim #. The guy was pretty rude and threatening, telling me that they didn't leave a message, their "locator" must have. Said that I was accused of "breach of fraud" because I didn't pay my bill, and that I was in pre-litigation. They scared me pretty good, I called Credit One and was told that they sold my account to this place, so I needed to deal with them. When I called back, they said as long as I hadn't had any papers served to me, I was ok, and they would be able to work with me. I gave them my debit card #, but at the last minute, changed my mind and when they asked for the security code on the back of the card, I gave them a different one.
I have done some research and discovered that these guys are complete scam artists. They have to send you a debt validation letter, and they can't threaten you with legal action or tell you that you have been accused of a crime over the phone. It doesn't matter what kind of collection agency they are, they still have to follow the law. I am filing a complaint and canceling my card.

I was recently in San Diego on vacation. I had used my card at a duty free store on the US side of the border. When we got home, I called to verify my balance and found 3 fraudulent charges from Mexico on my card. I got a rep on the line and asked first of all for someone in the US and not India or wherever their call center is and was told they were it. A sterling example of where this country is heading and what is wrong with it. Why aren't their call centers in the good old USA where you can get someone named Jose or Fred to help you? Anyway, the charges had yet to post but were pending. I explained that I work for one of the largest banks in the world and we handle fraud claims daily. The service rep said they could do nothing about launching the fraud investigation until they had hard posted. I said that's insane as THEY ARE FRAUDULENT, READ MY LIPS!!!
They then gave me to a supervisor named Sean (interesting) who was kind enough to launch it but couldn't put a hold on the charges. He also said they might be withdrawn before posting. WRONG AGAIN!!! I called yesterday, 13 days after the fact, they had not only posted but were still under investigation and the girl, JILL (seriously) said that it could take 2 billing cycles before the investigation was complete. At my bank, not only are the charges placed on hold but a decision is usually made within 7-10 business days. Apparently, there is one man named Judy who is in Siberia (lol) who is conducting said investigations. If you get an offer from these clowns, shred it, burn it, remove its life and don't move forward with it. This is hands down the worst experience I've ever had with a bank. Turn and run, people. It's not worth the headaches!!!

I only had this card for 4 months and after being only a few days late, decided I would pay this card off and close the account. Their customer service reps (3 of them) refused to listen. I told all three of them that I would be paying this card off on a certain day. They kept asking for my banking information over the phone. I told them repeatedly that I WILL NOT give my information over the phone. They continued to harass me for it. So that day finally came that I could pay them off. I used their online system. The payment went through. They got their money. When I went to look at my account online they had temporary suspended it. I called them, they said they account had been suspended because I paid more than the amounts I usually pay. So I had to get them information from my bank validating that my bank paid my credit card. What the HELL!!! What company freezes your account due to being paid off?
Again they were harassing me for my bank information. I spoke to 5 different reps (all foreign) all of them stating I need to provide them my bank information so they can validate my payment. They have already received the money for the account. I told them the reason I was paying off the account was due to their customer service and them always asking for my bank information. I told them to close my account. They then said even if I close this account and not give them my banking information they will report my account to the bureaus as being closed by the Credit Grantor. How is that!!!? I the consumer is the one requesting the close not the grantor. I have since reported them to the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau for fraud. Who has ever heard of an account being suspended due to paying an amount more than what you usually pay?..... Just filed a complaint today so we will see what happen.

I have been trying to pay off Credit One Bank for several years. I finally began to work with a credit counseling company that is consolidating my payments into one easy account while they paid off my creditors. However, the one and only company that would not work with them was Credit One Bank. They wanted them to be a member of another accrediting group that this counseling company had never heard of. Or they wanted you to use THEIR group.
Well, I refused, and my company sent them payments in my name. I would send any amount over their payment to keep from getting the phone calls and eventually the payments they made for me were enough. They called a few months ago to get the payoff information and were told it was $14.00. Well, it wasn't, and since then they have added two $35.00 payments for late payments (which we thought there were none) and the total amount owed quickly rose to over $90.00.
So today I decided to pay that off and as soon as I set up that payment I called them and had them cancel the account. Then they started talking about any other charges that might come through and I told them that if they tried to make me pay even 2 more cents on that account after it was closed that I would take them to court for harassment (they continued to call me AT WORK even after I told them time and again to stop calling me there).
The funniest thing was when they asked me what it would take to open my account back up. Unfortunately the answer I gave the poor customer service rep was not funny and she was rushing through her spiel by the end, I'm sure to get me off the line, which was fine with me. I would have just hung up but I wanted to hear the words "the account is closed."
Stay away from this company. I actually was not paying much attention and thought it was a card from Capital One (another sneaky thing - they have made their logo look as close to Capital One as they can - and I'm sure it's a way to scam you into thinking they are something they are not). It's tempting to go for a credit card, but most reputable companies do not charge you a start-up fee - that's a major red flag right there. In reading the other complaints on this page I can tell you that they are all true, and that I experienced many of the same things they did.
DO NOT use this company. Report them to any agency you can that might make this company comply with the fair credit act laws (like not harassing you with phone calls). They also need to expand working with other credit counseling agencies that help you pay off your debts with them, not just the ones they deem worthy (and which I suspect are smack dab in the middle of Credit One's pocket - making sure you get the shaft even as you try to pay off everything).

If they say there are fraud charges against you or that you are in legal trouble that is illegal, talk to an attorney and sue them. A creditor can sue you for breach of contract and only accuse you of fraud if you lied on your application, say about income, your age, address, etc. So, if they accuse you of fraud try to tape the calls, go to a lawyer and sue them. I have this card and it sucks, $8.25 a month is charged for the "membership" fee which is $99 a year. If membership has its privileges I cannot see what they are with this company. A $400 credit limit @ 23.90% interest and $8.50 a month fee is crazy. Cancelling the card.
I say again, if they threaten you or tell relatives you are "in trouble" they are violating the FCRA and you can sue them easily and win, not much, only $1000 per violation and attorneys fees, but add it up, they tell 3 or 4 friends or relatives you "are in trouble legally" that is $1000 per violation. Stop putting up with this crap, stop paying high fees on credit cards, get a secure card with Capital One or a credit union locally, pre-paid cards are a rip off too. You all can find boards to complain on after the fact, how about you use the internet to do due diligence before you sign up. I admit my mistake with this card, my fault.

I had a account with Credit One Bank. I only had the minimum credit line of $500.00. I had a balance of $200. Some odd change. Well to beat all, they cannot call and threaten anyone with going to jail or being arrested. That is a violation of a fair credit act. As well if you send them a letter in writing that they can no longer contact you. You have the right to document their harassing calls.. If they contact you further you can have them fined up to $1000.00 each time you are contacted. Use your phone records. I just recently went through a debt consolidation company. It may vary from state to state. I am living proof that they cannot harass you or call your job or send you any mailings I'd you have asked them in writing to stop. You know you owe the company. All they want is their money. They are not going to take you to court or cost themselves any more expense. Make payments as you can of what you can. Always make sure you have a receipt.
I know they can put it in your credit score. You can always make that better by not getting in any more in debt. If they refuse any payment you send to them, then that means the account is paid in full. You are no longer required to pay anything more. If they contact you again then it is a violation of both the contract. Call Progressive Debt Relief and join the debt relief program based on your monthly income and be debt free in about 15 months. Good luck. It feels so good to be debt free after all this time. Also they cannot collect or speak to you without having a agent here in the United States. You can ask for a representative for the USA - they have to get you one. They cannot collect any debt from outside the USA. They don't have any attorney that can represent them here and won't be budged. Yes they can be found very convincing, just know your rights...

I've been with Credit One for several years and in that time, I've had several credit limit increases, some of which came with a fee and some that didn't. There are a number of fees associated with this card and the interest rate is high, but all of that was spelled out in the initial paperwork. I never saw any attempt to hide their fee structure in the terms and conditions and believe me, I examine this stuff carefully. I do carry a balance sometimes, but I also try to keep the card paid off as much as possible (and always pay at least twice a month and well over the minimum payment if I can't pay the balance) and for what it is the card has worked well for me.
I've never had a problem using the website and I always use the standard payment feature (I'm not going to pay anyone nearly 10 bucks to access my money no matter how much I like them). The "express payment" fee is rather aggravating in principle, but then again they don't hide the fact they do it. It is spelled out in their fee structure. If I consistently had to pay the money to get the card right back into use, then there is probably something going on with my financial situation that makes this card a bad idea anyway. There are a handful of other cards out there that don't charge this fee, but they are expensive as well in their own right (anyone out here ever applied for the 59.9 percent APR First Premier card?).
I can't speak for their customer service reps as I've never needed to talk to them. Their website has always functioned just fine for all of my needs to this point. When I saw the comments about the logo being like Capital One, I pulled both cards out of my wallet and sure enough the logo is very close, if not identical. I really never noticed, but I never had any confusion as to what card I was applying for as I read all the materials very closely. One of the reasons I am currently relying on subprime credit sources to rebuild my credit is that I haven't always scoured the fine print for any nasty little gotchas.
Would I recommend this card to a friend or a family member? That would depend on several factors - not the least of which being if the card is even still available (at this time I don't think they are taking on new accounts. Not sure why). Additionally, this card is specifically aimed at people who have bad credit but can still manage to qualify for an unsecured card and as such it can be a very useful tool for that purpose, but if proper care isn't taken it will bite. If someone I know who is struggling with bad credit asks me, I don't mind telling them to check into this card (among others aimed at this market as well), but to read all of the terms and conditions carefully, use the card wisely, and don't even consider applying if they are not well able to pay the bills they currently have. There is no card in existence that will do anything but strangle you financially if you add it to an already shaky financial picture.

I had a dispute with a vendor and every time I called, I got different and, as it turns out, incorrect information. The level of ineptness and incompetence was staggering. It is obviously outsourced overseas which if they are trained properly would be okay but this is not the case and it shows. I suggest strongly trying another credit card company. I was out of work for several months and got behind on my card. They added so many additional late fees and monthly charges that the balance soared. I was finally able to start making payments again, which I did to the tune of several hundred dollars, finally bringing my balance back under the credit limit. Looking at my account online, I saw available credit and decided to use it at the store to make sure. Sure enough, it was declined. When I called CreditOne to ask what was going on, I was informed that the account had been closed.
I should have just paid the remaining balance right then, but I was angry. I asked them why nobody had informed me the account was closed and got no satisfactory response. I told them to cancel the card immediately and stop charging additional fees on a closed account. Apparently, that fell on deaf ears (I should have sent certified mail). They have continued to accrue additional charges every month to the point that the balance due is staggering. I've been praying that they will finally turn it over to a collection agency because that freezes the debt, although from some of these posts, I'm beginning to have my doubts.
They began calling me multiple times a day to the point of harassment, furthering my disgust and anger. Finally, at one point, I told the rep to "do what he had to do" and that they would never see a penny of this fraudulent debt. Then I blocked their number(s). So they started calling me from "Number Unavailable" which I cannot block. We're talking all day every day, including weekends. I don't answer calls like that, which I guess they eventually figured out. I started getting calls from "Private," which are also impossible to block and which I would also never answer. Finally, they left a voice mail and it was from a woman named Amy. She said something about a case against me and informed me that I "had been notified" as if it she were a claim server and now I had to respond.
Today I got a local call from my area code and, thinking it could be any number of people I needed to talk to, I answered. It was a woman named Lisa ** who said she had papers to serve on me. I asked her what they were about and she couldn't tell me, but did imply that they might be criminal. I called Amy at her 866 number and found out this all involved - you guessed it - our great friends at CreditOne. She works for "Global," a "pre-litigation firm." When I asked her for the legal name of the corporation, for instance, Global Enterprises, Global, LLC or what have you, she insisted it's just "Global." - Very convenient. She told me I was facing charges of breach of contract and fraud. I asked her if she was saying criminal charges were being filed, but she wouldn't respond. When I asked her again, she responded, "Have you ever heard of anyone being charged with fraud and it's not criminal?"
Tell you what, if I was mad before and annoyed by the constant harassment, I am absolutely livid now, especially after reading the long and frightening litany of complaints which precede mine in this space. I want to shut these people down and see someone go to prison. This is unconscionable and has to stop. I've created a unique email address for anyone who would like to discuss forming a class action and possible criminal complaint. Working together, we can turn the screws on these thugs!

I received a call from Credit One today about a recently opened credit card account. The first payment that I made online had several charges that were in question, but I paid them anyway because I truly wanted to make sure that the account was always paid and posted on time. While it appears that they are charging you for "paying your bill" and charging to make sure that it is posted as well, I paid the extra charges. So that meant that I was being charged for paying, and charged for posting. I tried to pay my second payment online. It would have been 4 days late because I simply forgot to pay it. When I attempted to pay it online the second time, the Credit One online payment process it was full of glitches. I tried to find out who I could call and where I could go to talk to someone about this, but I could not find any information.
When I got the call about the account today and tried to get some answers about the glitches first, all went downhill. By the time that the conversation was rudely ended by a manager, I felt that I had been verbally attacked and demanded and insulted. Mind you this was just in the course of trying to have a conversation about the glitches on the online payment process and to acknowledge a payment date. There was never a dispute on my part. I was just attempting to get answers to the payment process and to get the bill paid.
I cannot believe how this was handled and how insulting that the manager became near the end of the conversation. This is definitely a company that borders on harassment and insulting tactics as a part of the "Customer Services" techniques. I would not advise anyone to get a credit card with these folk. They are very rude, insulting, evasive and seem not to care how they treat their customers. After reading the complaints about them, I wished that I had investigated them thoroughly before I agreed to get a credit card through them.

Then I called Credit One. Well to my surprise, I got a recording, yes, a recording letting me know that due to the holiday, I must call back on a regular working day, so I promptly cancelled my card. I have no problem paying this off, after all, I do own it. But what I do have a problem with is when they call me and I ask to speak to a supervisor, I am hung up on. And 10 minutes later, they call again. If it's the same person who I asked to speak to a supervisor, I am promptly hung up on again. This goes on all day long. This is not what I call good service. This is substandard and very rude people that they have working for them. Thank you.

I received a credit card offer at the end of May. I made the mistake of applying for the card online without checking the legitimacy of the bank. Big mistake! I have never received a card and I have been waiting for over 3 weeks now. I called them when 10 days had passed and the card should have arrived. I gave them my new address because I had moved and asked that they send a new card. The rep said he would change the address and ship a new card. I asked to speak to a supervisor and the rep put me on hold for a very long time, only to eventually say a supervisor was not available.
10 days later, I called because I had not received a card and I found out the address had never been changed. The rep again said that he would change my address and send a new card. I complained that I already received a bill and was being asked to make a payment on the $75 annual fee but did not think it was fair to have to pay when I had not even received the card and was not sure that I was going to. He said he could close the account but not reverse the charges, for that I would need to speak to a supervisor. As had happened the last time, he put me on hold for a very long time then came back on the line and said a supervisor was unavailable.
I informed the rep that I did not believe I could trust the company and that I wanted him to cancel the card and remove all charges because I had not received the card and did not want to do business with the company. He said he could only send a new card and rush it so that I would receive it in 3-5 business days. I was so frustrated that I said fine, send the card. I thought by receiving the card, I might get access to another person who had customer service skills and did what I asked. After over 10 days of waiting, I called back to say that I still had never received the card but I did receive a new bill stating that I was charged a rush fee for the card being rushed (the card I never received) and a late fee (although I specifically asked for the payment date to be changed because I had not received a card yet).
Again I asked to speak to a supervisor, and again I was left on hold just to be told that the supervisor was unavailable. This bank does not practice customer service and from what all the other comments say, they also charge very high fees. Sadly, the funniest part of this whole story is that I did the next day receive a letter from them stating that I updated my address with them. However, still I received no credit card!

It said that I had an annual fee of $8 which I didn't pay on time, which resulted in a late fee of $35, which brought the total to $43. Then, 2 months of interest was also charged on top of the $43 to bring the total to $102.95!! I called to complain. Of course they don't budge at all, and I'm forced to pay. I have had a credit card from Credit One Bank for three years that I have always kept in good standing. I have not used it for a few months, as I was trying to not use credit to pay for everything. Recently, I have had occasion to need to use my Credit One Bank card. When I went to use it, the charge declined. I then spoke with their customer service department, and was told that I had asked them to cancel the card in March 2013. I NEVER authorized this to happen. I got this card when I was rebuilding my credit, and had to pay a $75 fee to get the card, a $25 fee to get a $100 credit-line increase, AND a renewal fee every year in addition. With all of these fees I pay, I certainly would not cancel this card! That would be like losing all that money from the fees I paid just to GET the card.
I was told by the representative's manager that there was nothing they could do and that I did, indeed, cancel the card. Again, I explained to her that I did NOT cancel the card. I was then told that my only recourse was to apply for a brand-new Credit One Bank Card. If I do that, I will have to pay $75 AGAIN to open a new account. Why would I ever agree to do that? I want to file a formal complaint against them for fraudulent business practices. I want proof that I authorized this card to be canceled, which they cannot provide, because I DID NOT cancel the card. I was also told that they would not waive the $75 fee if I re-applied for a new card. I think this would have been a reasonable compromise, but the manager disagreed with me and was extremely arbitrary and not receptive to my input. What legal recourse do I have at this point? I feel like I lost at least $100 in fees for a card that I now cannot even use.

I wanted to pay this credit card off because it is so bad that I started making automatic payments through my bank at $10 a week which exceeds my minimum payment. They charged me late fees at $35 each time. I called to speak with someone about it and they were very rude to me and told me, "You will never pay off your balance and we will keep charging you a late fee." In other words, they told me that they did not want me to make 4 payments a month so the $10 just before the due date was not the minimum payment that justified the late fee. Then they started applying my payments as much as 9 days later, sometimes 7 or 5 but it was always to delay it so they could charge me a late fee which in one case held me over the limit for 2 months which included more fees.
I am paying this off and not using it again. I would suggest an Orchard Bank MasterCard. I have one and they are nice, no phone calls, no unjustified fees, no lies and harassment. I will be making any credit card purchases with them from now on. Do not go to Credit One Bank!

I paid off the card 2 months ago but recently, I noticed first a $12 charge 1 month and then a $8.25 charge the next, labeled annual fee. When I called, I found out that the annual fee had been dramatically raised and that it was separated into monthly payments of 12 and then $8.25. The lady couldn't explain why they were different. She just said that it had started 4 months ago (my fault because who reads all the junk mail you get if it is not a bill right?). In my book, this bank is conducting usurious and predatory practices. I was given a card by them with a limit of $500. Right off the bat, they charged $75 annual fee. If you believe in the saying, "What is good for the goose is good for the gander," they charge almost 24% interest on balances which will cost you and me almost $93 the first year. Then somewhere in their umpteen pages of agreements, it is said that the fee will go up to $99 a year, but to be understanding of the customer's financial situation, they will split this into monthly payments of $8.25 a month.
Now if you are like me and always pay your balance in full, once the $8.25 charges kick in, they never notify you of such. I just checked my account and found out that I owed them $26 in late fees of $8.25 a month on top of the monthly charges as well as almost 24% interest on the balance. On top of that, I got charged another late fee of $25 increasing my minimum payment fee up to $50. I was waiting on my first paycheck from my new job to go through. That week alone, I received about 8 calls a day during work. I made the mistake of answering one of the calls which you could tell they outsource to other countries. I specifically said that I did not authorize them to withdraw anything from my bank account and supposedly he put a note on my account not to call me to obtain payments that aren't due yet after I informed him that was considered harassment. We'll see how it turns out, but I am writing a letter to the BBB as well.

The mistake of allowing COB to take funds on a monthly basis from my account proved to be a wrong idea. Due to a date change, COB tried to withdraw funds from my checking account and was blocked by my bank. My bank told me that they tried this on two different occasions with different amounts. After all was said and done, I tried to go onto my "online account" and found it was suspended. I called and talked to three (3), yes three, customer service agents. I was told if I pay the month missed (the present month and next month's payments), my account would be back on. Not the case at all!
They took three months' payments. I was only one behind because of the problem and claim that there's nothing they can do. This company took me and now could screw up my credit report, so I'm pissed off! I'm writing a letter to the company, bank, BBB and the federal agency on credit reporting. They won't even drop my % rate to lower my monthly and to pay the damn thing off quicker.

So I've only had this credit card for six months but I've paid the balance in full or close to it almost every month. This month, I made three payments, all before the due date. For some strange reason, the last two payments bounced back, but I still paid $350 on a $400 cc with a $25 minimum payment fifteen days before the due date. No one contacted me regarding the returned payments and I have no idea why they were returned. Instead, they just closed my card, negatively affecting my credit. I just spent the last hour trying to communicate with their customer service department, which is so bad it verges on fraudulent, only to be told there was nothing they could do to reopen my account.

They said I went over but I did not. From Credit One adding whatever fees and such they like, it caused the balance to be over. On top of paying a $90 annual fee, there were so many unwarranted fee. Then they call before due dates and say you're late when you are not. This bank clearly is taking advantage of people who are in need. I have a $400 limit. My account is at $407.52. Of that balance, I made purchases of less than $275. I have only had my card for 2 months. I have closed the card. If they can put that many charges in less then 60 days, that is ridiculous! I am furious and will be calling the Better Business Bureau.

On December 15, 2012, I was not able to log into my account online. I called and the representative stated they put a temporary hold on the account due to expected fraudulent activity. The fraudulent charges were in Mexico. I've never been or purchased anything from Mexico. When I talked with Shaun (a reported supervisor) on December 15, 2012, he stated that within the next 7 to 10 business days, they will send an affidavit to be completed and returned. As of January 12, 2013, I still have not received the form; however, I did receive the new card they issued. On January 3, 2013, I called their fraud department. However, you have to leave a message and they will call you back within 2 business days. I called again on January 8, 2012 at 3:59 pm PST. As of January 12, 2013, still no returned call.
On January 3, 2013, I called customer service. They reported that it could take up to 90 days after they received the affidavit from me. Yet, they still have not mailed me the affidavit. The representative further stated that as long as there in an investigation, I would be responsible for interest and the annual fee, even if I closed the account. The amount of the fraud is $315.54. I requested to have the account closed. The representative further stated that if I paid off the balance and they did find in my favor, I would not be issued a refund just a credit to my account. Shocked, I followed up with mailing a letter outlining the fraudulent items and requesting the account to be closed. On January 8, 2013, the account is still open. On January 10, 2013, account is finally closed. I called left another voicemail with the fraud department.
On January 12, 2013, at 11:51 am PST, I called customer service, which is outsourced in India. This was confirmed by Jimmy, employee ID **, supervisor. He reported that they had received my letter. He stated that they had not mailed the affidavit and asked me to be patient. He further said that I would be responsible for the amount due, interest, and any other charges. He stated that if they did rule it was fraud, they would refund my account but not issue me a check. When I responded with, "I am sure that in days, your company will be in violation of FTC and California laws and I feel I have no other choice to report Credit One Bank to the necessary government agencies." Jimmy asked me not to report them and to be patient.

I had my Credit One credit card not stolen but somehow they credit another credit card with my CC #'s and used in Louisiana. I live in California. I reported it fraud over two months ago. First, I called the number and I guess it's outsourced to India. They closed that account and said that they will send me paperwork to report fraud. They said it will take 7-10 business days. Well, 30 days went by and charges were still on my new account and no paperwork yet. I called again and they said they'll send another one. Well, two months later, still no paperwork and they only give you 90 days to report it and send back paperwork. Now, they temporarily removed the charges. I'm beyond pissed off for the time it's taking to handle this. I asked them why it's taking so long to send paperwork and they have no answer. I'm so frustrated and don't know what to do.
This company sucks and seems to be very suspicious on their own business practices from what I'm reading from other complaints. What can one do about this? They can get my statement to me on time to pay them but getting the fraud docs seems to be traveling the world and will never get to me. I asked them if they can overnight them and they said no! I asked if they can email them and they said no! What can a consumer do about this? Is it legal to keep charging you a fee monthly for an annual fee then every year they charge another fee on top of the monthly ones?

Space Shuttles retired and business slowed to unprecedented levels. I'm trying to make ends meet. I'm unemployed from October and most of November. Finally, I got back to work and one payment behind. Credit One failed to negotiate through various levels of management, and they continued abusive/harassment calls (over less than a $50 balance needed for meds and survival), of which I determined is an automated service and discredit to their service. Meanwhile, they charged ridiculous fees and penalties (possibly breaking laws) I'm unable to afford. Credit One sucks and is a discredit to American business, as even their own staff members will agree. I've attempted to contact the CEO to no avail and plan to sue for punitive damages. Credit One should not be in business. They are a disservice to our nation.

I have been a customer for several years, and they have always waived the high annual fee. The have now refused to waive it and said I would be charged a fee until the balance is paid in full which is fine. I will pay it off. The rep closed my account, and I called back to speak with another rep who said he would waive the fee to keep my account open and saw she closed it and said, "I am sorry, but we have to reopen the account." He did and then said he could not waive the fee now. It's ridiculous. Terrible service and policies. I asked to speak with a supervisor, and he put me on hold for 25 minutes then came back and said, "They said the same thing." If you need a supervisor, then get one on the line. This is terrible customer service here!
