I received an offer in the mail from this company and was about to apply, until I read that the fee was $75.00 for the first year! After the first year, it is $99.00 (billed to your card at 8.25 a month). **? Aren't your fees supposed to go down? And another thing, at first glance, their logo looks suspiciously like Capital One. I mean really look at it! I had no intention of applying for a card, but I wanted to check them out, and guess what? When you go to their website, it's not even secure! These people need to be investigated, and shut down.

Credit One Bank has pulled another one of their trick scams from their pockets. I entered the banking information in their website by having my wife read me the account info (Route/Acct. #'s). Then we verified the information after we entered it twice for verification. Well, my payment submitted and one week later it was returned. I was getting called Sunday morning at 7:30am by automated notification of the returned payment. I called their foreign customer service and they immediately asked to verify my bank account number for the returned payment. I began reading the number to them when suddenly the representative cut me off and said my that I entered my account number incorrectly and that was the reason for the returned payment. I told them that was incorrect because my wife and I both verified the number and we entered it twice for verification.
They said that's what I typed on the computer. I asked them to waive one of the two fees for both returned payments of $25 fees and they told me yes, at first. Then they put me on hold to speak to the supervisor, Peggy most likely, and returned saying they couldn't do that because it had not posted on my account. I said it shows a posting date already and it's already charged and I have a reference # for it. The studdering representative then told me to call back and hung up. Scam. Scam. Scam. Avoid them at all cost. Check reviews before accepting their business!

I applied for a credit card, and when I received the first month's bill, there was an annual fee of $75, and a design fee from Las Vegas NV for $6.95. There was no mention of the annual fee when I filled out the application, as I have six other credit cards, and would never have accepted a card with an annual fee. I am paying the balance in full with interest, but I am not going to pay the annual fee, or the design fee. I made numerous calls to them, and was placed on hold for thirty minutes. As soon as I hung up my cellphone, and my home phone rang, with Credit One requesting that I call them back at once.

I think the employees are rude. I have ask them nicely to quit calling me every 5 minutes. The other day, I have over 65 missed calls from Credit One. They do this everyday and they call me all hours of the night. I have told them 8 times I do not have a job. The foreign guy that was on the phone said I had to pay it or else, so I hung up. Well, he proceeded to call my phone 25 more times after that.
They got to understand I lost my job and don't have any income coming in. I will be changing my number on Monday morning to do this issue.

I had received a statement at the onset of receiving my card for $94.00. I had to pay the $94.00 for the annual fee. I immediately paid this timely. My next statement reflected $1.39 for interest accrued on my purchases. I had no purchases - I was charged $94 for the card - that is clearly not a purchase. They refused to write it off. I asked them to close my account and note that it was because their charges were not acceptable. They wanted to argue with me that it will hurt my credit for closing and I still had to pay the $1.39. I told them I had no problem with paying and they were not to worry about my account!

I have a car loan through them and they have the worse customer service ever. They harass you if you are one day late on your payment. They call you like 100 times a day at work, home, cell phone. I tried explaining to them my situation and they said, "That's not my problem, we need your payment now or we will repossess your car." They never sent me a letter stating why my payment went up to $25 a month. So I called them and they didn't have an answer. I hate this company.

I have had Credit One credit card for many years. They have been helpful to get my credit established. That said that my credit is now excellent and I have them totally paid off. Every month, I receive a bill for $9.00 and interest charges of $2.00. Why don't I just close the account? It will affect my credit score.
They call every now and then to offer me a credit increase of $100 if I agree to pay $25.00. My limit is $1,475 with high interest. This bank (or whatever it is) needs to be reported and come more in line of other credit card issuers. Do not recommend this card to anyone.

Credit One is a scam. Even after you closed an account, they try to charge you monthly fees. I refused to pay them. I said can you say charge off if it can only lower my credit score by 40 points? The first thing you need to do is change your contact info. It's simple to do and at their site I changed my mailing address and my phone #. So, they can't even try to harass me. I have not made a payment in 7 months and have not seen a bill. Like I said, it did lower my credit score but they had to charge off $ 545. So who cares? I have other credit cards.

I called to set up a payment plan to try to get caught up on my payments. I talked to one guy first. Then, he transferred me to the manager George. He asked why I was getting behind and I told him I didn't have the money. Then, he told me, “Well, didn't you just get paid?” Well, yeah but I had bills to pay. I have to support my children, have a roof over their head, and lights to live with. He had no reason to ask these questions. I was calling to set up something to give them money and I have to go through all this. Then, I told him that I can set up a payment for next week. But he needed money by Friday. I told him that I can borrow it. He asked me who I can borrow it from. And he called my mother on 3 way to make sure I can get the money. I thought he was really rude. So, we got that straight. Then, yesterday evening I got a call again from them and they realized they have already talked to me today. They said, “I don't know why I was calling you back.”

I have had a credit card with Credit One bank for a little over a year now. Today, I went to their website to make a standard payment which is free, and the site wouldn't let me, so I called in to make it over the phone. Well, after going through the options of press 1 for standard or 2 for express, I press 1 for the free payment, and when I was transferred to the payment agent (who I could barely understand and was rude), I was told that I can't make free (standard) payments over the phone. I don't know why they give you the option then.
I speak to a supervisor who was no help either and told me to call customer service. When I do call back to customer service, I am told that there is a pending payment from when I called earlier to which I replied, "What account?" because I didn't give them permission to make a payment. Anyway, to make a long story short, they are the worst customer service people I have ever met. I seriously felt like Capital One commercial where the lady calls in and it's a small shack with people who can't speak English and they keep transferring her back to a guy named Peggy. Lol. It's horrible. I'm going to pay them off by mail tomorrow and never deal with this company again. What a rip off!

I told them to go ahead and send me to collections as they can't garnish my SS check. I am tired of being pushed around by companies like this. I will never pay them.

I have had a credit card with this company since 6/2008, almost 3 1/2 years now. I have made my payments on time for every single month I've had the card. I am paying a ridiculous APR of nearly 24% and called just now to request a lower rate. Before I finished my sentence, the foreign CS woman who answered the phone said "no" in a barely recognizable accent.
I asked for her supervisor as I have been a loyal customer for nearly 4 years now who makes all payments on time. I don’t understand why most other credit cards are willing to negotiate this but Credit One is not. She had me on hold for ten minutes before returning to tell me that the supervisor was unavailable. I hate this card!
Between the $10.38 I'm being charged monthly from my interest rate and the $9 annual fee plus the $9.95 to pay online, I don't even think my minimum payment would cover these charges.

No wonder they won't let anyone send them an email to complain, which they act like it's for our own safety. I can't wait to pay this off if they ever let me. I have questioned them and told them they are harassing me by calling 20+ times a day. They assured me they weren't calling that many times a day. Why is it that every time you make a payment with Credit One Bank, they charge you a fee of $9.95? Why do they take that payment off your credit card and why is it that your apr is 24%? Also, why is it that your interest rate is high and your annual fee is being charged every month? Obviously, they're taking $19.90 from me a month and giving me an apr for 24%. I am being charged $8.00 a month just for the interest which is ridiculous! This company needs to be investigated as soon as possible. They're using their customers instead of helping them.

I just wrote a complaint yesterday. And then, I realized something else. My annual fee taken out monthly has been raised without my knowledge. It is now a whopping $99 per year. I have the legal right to opt out of any such increase but if I am not notified, I have no options. I spoke to their rep about it. She said that back in April of 2011, I was notified it would be going up in June. I then asked her if I got a notice in April of an increase in June. Why did it not go up until August? It seems that no matter when I make my payments, Credit One Bank holds my funds. I pay online with my checking account, and the money is usually taken out the same day from my account. It takes no longer than three days (per my bank). I just made my payment on 9/20/2011, and my funds are not available until 9/28/2011. I believe this is their closing date. Even if I made it last week, the same applies.
I had a big argument with them when they told me that the money goes to some government agency first. I thought it was a law that the posting had to be on the day they receive the payment. They have my money immediately and I should be able to use it immediately also. They are using the extra time to hold onto the customer's money to invest and make more. If I didn't need the money at that time, I never would have used the card they sent me. They are horrible to deal with. Scam? Maybe!

Obviously, this bank targets consumer who has experienced recent credit score plummets, due to unemployment, foreclosure, state of economy, etc. They charge you $9.95, if you want to make a payment by phone, even if it's to avoid a late fee of $25.00 on the due date. And they use EST, so if your payment on the west coast is not made by the EST deadline, then you are also issued a late fee, even if on same day of due date. There are sneaky fees at every turn.

Just want people to be aware that not only do they charge a fee to set up and get the card, but they also charge a daily fee just for using the card. If you (monthly) get a bill and pay it in full on or prior to the due date, you are still charged interest just for using the card. It's (per them what President Obama suggests) a finance charge on the average daily balance. So regardless, if you do not carry over a balance you are still being charged, a finance charge for the average daily balance of the prior month's usage.
Customer service was terrible in explaining this and just kept reading canned message that this is what President Obama's credit card act suggests.

First, I want to say that credit companies that take advantage of people at their lowest moment (after BK) are lower than bottom feeders. I opened a card with them after my BK was discharged. I wanted to start establishing credit and they gave me a $300.00 credit line with a $75.00 fee and so, available credit was $225.00. I have had this card for 2 years now and my credit has increased to $650.00 but not without cost.
Every time they increase your limit it comes with a price; whatever they want to charge you on that day. My first increase from $300 to $500 was "free" but then, I noticed an increase to $650.00, a $150.00 increase, and they charged me $75.00! Then, I had my wallet stolen and had to cancel my cc. I was told that they would be imposing a $25.00 as lost/stolen card replacement fee! Then, they had the gull to ask if I wanted a credit line increase of $100.00 that would cost me $25.00. They didn't volunteer that information. I had to ask what it would cost to have an increase.
After I told them, "Absolutely not," I also told them to keep their card and that I will be paying them off and closing this account. They said it would still cost me $25.00 to change the number on the account! These people seriously need to be shut down. This is being taken to court. After Credit One demanded to take an amount from my checking account for payment, it ended up costing me $215.00 for an overdrawn account that several other creditors used. This was my grocery money for the month. Their ignorance and harassment lead to closing that account. They called with threats and promised me trouble. Then they went and tried to collect more money and found no account. While they said I authorized this; not the account being closed and never asking me for the new account. They ruined me and now I think I should go to court with charges against them. They will never get another dime from me. I'm on Social Security Disability and I need meds and food at the same time. Tough luck with my credit score.

This is about Credit One. I got my bill from them and it had a $33.25 late fee on it. I checked my bank account against their records, and my records showed that the payment was made. So, I called Credit One and they explained to me that they do not apply your payment, if you send it in early. They just apply it to your balance due. I explained to them that I have records that show where I make my payments every month. They agreed that I did make that payment. They said if you make your payments early, then they will not apply it to your payment. They will apply it toward your balance and cause your payment to be late, and then charge you a fee for being late. I feel that this must be illegal, but they say that it is legal to do. I make $8.50 an hour, so a $33 late fee takes away the money I already do not have. I pay all my payments on time.

When they mail out a bill late or I receive a bill 3 days before the payment is due, they say it’s my problem not theirs. I get charged late fees for the payment being received by them 1 day after the due date, but the payment was sent out with 7-10 days ahead, or with bill pay from my personal bank. When I signed up for the card, I called and asked about the members’ fee and I was told it was a 1 time fee of $99 spread out through the first year only, but found out instead it was false. I was charged the fee every year since 2008. They are disrespectful and put all blame on the customer, but will never take responsibility for their mistakes, and yet the customer has to pay for it.
I have been charged late fees, charged for membership fees, which were not what I was told by me from a Credit One Bank representative. They emotionally and verbally abuse you as a customer and are very harassing towards us. No customer is ever treated as a valued customer but yet like criminals, scum, and like they are better then us. Never have I been treated so poorly like this before and I am emotionally drained and at my wits end with Credit One Bank employees’ abuse of power.

My complaints include all the previous remarks made by consumers: not being able to access credit for 5 days after payment, rude CS personnel (if you can get anyone on the phone), inability to contact CS via email (very strange) and unheard of in this day and age, increased high interest rates (whether you pay your bill on time or not, and lying about waiving late fees). I would highly recommend that anyone dealing with these crooks to do as I am finally doing, bite the bullet and pay the **** bill off no matter how much it hurts! Good riddance!

I got through the mail a Credit One Bank Visa card around October 5th this year and decided to activate and use this to help on my credit.
Today Friday, 11/12/2010 I didn't receive a bill from Credit One yet so I decided to see if I could find on the internet a website to check my account status. I found their website and activated myself into it and found out on 10/5 I was charged an annual fee of $75 with a minimum fee of $25 due to them by 11/1 (I never received a bill for this). Then I found another statement that the billing period ended on 11/5 (I never received a bill for this) that I was overdrawn on my $300 credit limit for $320.63.
I then called their billing office today just to see what the heck is going on with my bill and try to get some explanation as to why I never have received a bill from them. The person who answered on their end was from a different country that I could not understand. I told them that the only way I found out that I was overdrawn was that I went and found out myself through their website and that I never received a bill from them. The customer service rep. said they sent us a bill and that I must pay today $75. I explained to them on the website, it shows that I have until 12/1 a minimum due bill of $50 and nowhere does it say I must pay $75. today.
I then asked for a supervisor who also spoke a different language and was even harder to understand. I had to give them my credit card number and last 4 digits of my social security number which as of this time was my 3rd time giving this out to them. The supervisor insisted that they sent us the bills and that we must pay the $75 today.
I told them to close my account immediately and the supervisor switched me to another customer service person who was hard to understand and had no idea as to why they transferred me to them so I had to give them again my credit card number and last 4 digits of my social security. Supposedly my credit card was closed. After this entire ordeal today, I received my first bill that says I owe $75?

I do not, nor have I ever had a Credit One card. However, somehow my home telephone number got into their automated dialing system for collections and I received over 100 calls last month asking for people I never heard of. After I got my land-line provider (Horizon of NJ) through their harassment hotline to contact them, I discovered there were 47 names with my number attached to them alone in collections. The person from Credit One realized there had been a computer glitch on their part since the names and addresses of the people they were trying to collect from were in different parts of the country and therefore couldn't be in my area code. They removed those 47 names, but another billing cycle has started and now calls for other people are coming in. In one day in Sept., I received 77 calls from this stupid company that I don't even have a card with.
There was no one looking for Jane, all the calls were for people I never heard of and when I would say that, the collector would demand that I was the name of the person they were looking for. One man was so demanding that he kept referring me by the name of Thomas, until I got so angry I started calling him Joanne. I have since filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. I hope this helps, since I can't get through to their phone number listed on their website for collections, this too is automated and I can't supply a 16 digit card number.
I don't have a card with them. The I am stressed of dealing with these people, who most of the time I can't understand because it is outsourced and they don't speak clear English. Once every so often isn't a bother, but 77 times in one day alone is harassment, especially when they call me a liar if I say I'm not one of the many people they are looking for. Not one of them has ever asked for Jane (that's me), and they can't since I don't have an account with them.

A 250 credit line is getting me calls from people with the name "JCC Christian and Sons" (blasphemers) telling me I owe $1200 to a company they cannot provide me the details of other than the name Resurgent Capitol. Their repeated calls have damaged the batteries of several cordless phones.

Deceptive, deceptive, did I say deceptive? After paying the $9.95 "Express payment" fee, where it specifically said that my payment would be in my available credit the next business day, what do I find? They only made $100 of my payment available and placed the remainder on hold until 6/10. The kicker is that the payment cleared my bank account the day after I made it. The same day, my payment was supposed to be in my available credit. I asked the clueless CSR to refund my "Express payment fee", as a six business day hold is not "express", which of course, she refused to do. Into the sock drawer with this one. There were two occasions when I made the payment and it cleared my bank well before my due date and yet they claimed I was late. They charged me a late fee. I think they do this just so they can make millions on late charges. The few times I did decide to make an online payment, it cleared my bank and still I was forced to wait 5 business days for my funds to be available. The customer service representatives must deal with thousands of upset consumers daily because they all react the same, either apathetic or just obnoxiously rude.

A few years ago my wife and I lost our business, and our credit along with it. In late 2008, my wife got a pre-approved credit card offer from Credit One bank for a card with 250.00 limit. We thought it would be a good way to re-establish some credit, so she called and ordered the card. We knew up front about the 69.00 fee and 5.00 a month membership fee. We actually had very few problems until December of 2009. A company I had ordered some arthritis meds from fraudulently charged us a second month of product we didn't order.
I called Credit One to file a dispute, and found them to be the most unsavory kind of people to deal with. They were so bat that it caused us to take a good look at the institution we were doing business with. We found there are thousands of complaints filed online about them. After a 2-hour fight with them I finally got them to cancel the card, but had to tell them I was a long haul truck driver and that traveling to their location to do business in person was no problem for me. Two months later, February 2010, we missed a payment. We don't know what happened, I just missed sending them a payment somehow on bill paying day. It was no problem for us. We called them expecting to have a 35.00 fee as missing the payment was our fault. When I called them I got a real shock.
I called prepared to just send them the 339.00 we owed and pay off the card completely. It was then that I found out over 100.00 had been charged to our account for a one month late fee. I expected the 35.00, the one stated on their monthly statement. I was told that the extra money, nearly 75.00 extra, was interest on the late payment, which was only 30.00. I blew my stack, so to speak. They finally got me a "supervisor" who agreed to drop the amount down to the original 339.00 without the late fee if I wanted to pay the account in full.
I agreed to pay 339.00 and asked when they could have a statement to me guaranteeing my payoff. I was promptly told they could not do that and that payment had to be made right there over the phone. I told them there was no way on God's green earth I would give any more money to a company with a reputation like theirs without a written guarantee. By this time I had read several hundred complaints online about them, and told them so. They informed me they had millions of satisfied customers and were unaware of any complaints against them, so I promptly told them where to look.
To make a long story short, I finally had to hang up the phone after dealing for almost 2 hours, again, with the most rude service reps. I will not pay them until I am guaranteed on paper that they will accept the amount they stated as payment in full, and they refuse to to put it in writing. They still call my home offering to settle for 339.00, but still refuse to send me a statement in writing. I told them on the last call that my wife and I are having to file bankruptcy after our last college class is done, and that I will file on them as well.
All they have to do is guarantee the amount in writing. Still, again, they refuse. I have the cash to pay them off. It is saved and set aside. I pay my bills. But the economy has created some problems for us. If they don't want my money, then they can suffer with the rest of us. They have proven themselves over and over to be a scam artist company. I will not be scammed. There are thousands of complaints of people trying to pay off their accounts with this company, and the money never getting credited to the account. Beware when you send them money.

They send me a letter back, saying my account was open and current, but when I went to pay them for this month due on April 26, 2010, it was still showing me past due of $35 and they charged me another $29 late fee. How can I be past due and get charged a late charge when they say I am current. If you pay them before the due date, they don't credit it for that payment so when they don't get the payment on the due date, you are past due and you get charged a late fee. It is hurting my credit report, putting a physical and financial strain on me. I try to make all my payments before or on the due date and they do this to me.

I had a Credit One credit card, and I was never sorrier. They charge you for making payments online using their website - $9.95 per payment. They don't have agreements in place with major banks to facilitate electronic payments through your own bank's free bill payment service. If you make a payment via check, they'll hold your check in limbo until after the due date, and then charge you a late fee--even if you've sent you check early.
If you ever have to deal with their collection department (due to the aforementioned late fees and late payments), prepare to be abused as their collections agents are not by any means professional. If you do have to deal with their collections department, record the conversation; you can use this as evidence of harassment. They will raise your interest rates to 39%. Credit One bank is registered in Nevada, which has very lax usury laws. Clearly Credit One prides its business model on predatory lending. Steer clear.

About 2 weeks later I received a second notice from them that had a PIN number to activate the card. So I call them again and was to the account had been canceled and to ignore further mailings from them, but that it might take a month or so for mailings to stop.
This morning, 1-19-2010 at 8:01 am, they called me to collect $154 and would cut a deal for $55. They were rude and I was passed from the first agent to two different supervisors that said their names so softly I could not hear them. I explained that to the best of my knowledge I had never applied for a card and that I had called in October to cancel the card that I had received a PIN number for and I had called back in November again for the same reason. They said they cannot even attempt to do anything for me until I pay the card down. They can not forward me to customer service to check the record of my calls and that they could not correct their error.
The only way I can figure they got my information was that my youngest daughter had used my business laptop and it has an auto fill for forms I use for taxes. This would include my SSN for doing business as tax ID. Or it is from identity theft, but as this is the only issue I can find that seems unlikely. They would not even give me the account number. I had to pay $55.33 to get access to account services to request they close the account for the 3rd time for an account I didn't even apply for and get the needed information to file a fraud charge.

I have had some of the same trouble that others have had with this Credit One Bank. I have had an account with them since April of 2008. A MasterCard to be exact. They started me out with a $200 line of credit with a $69 annual fee charged at once to the account and $5.75 billed in monthly installments. I realized this when I applied and reluctantly accepted to help my credit. Back in July of 2009, I reported my card as lost and got a new one. Much to my surprise, the fee that was $5.75 per month has now become $6.50 per month from 7/09 to 12/09 and then all of a sudden, $8.25 a month since Jan 2010. My mouth about dropped, I wasn't notified about any fee increase that I can remember. I didn't receive anything in the mail from them, I have for my other creditors but not Credit One. They have some nerve.
So today, I called to find out why the fee increased. I told them I thought there was an error on my account. I was told no, that it was new term and I should have received notice in the mail. I told the lady that I didn't and ask if she could send me this notice. So then, I am already on a DMP (debt management plan) with CareOne. So I called the Credit Protect number on my Credit One statement and told the rep that I am going to put my account in consolidation. I need to cancel Credit Protect. The rep went on and on about how good the service is. I told him I never authorized it to begin with. He said, "well, we wouldn't activate if you didn't". Yeah, right. I remember avoiding it. Anyways, long story short, Credit One is nothing but fees. Capital One is better.

It's free, okay, don't utilize this account for nothing more than their bill pay service which right now they're offering $35 to use. Anyway Bank Of America is the only bank I know that has the bill pay for Credit One Bank electronically and it's free. Trust me, I have been using it and haven't paid a stupid $7.95 fee debit card or $9.95 ACH. The payment clears the next day!
I will send you pics if you like. It's awesome. Now for some reason Credit One Bank has a credit score feature which shocks me because as I pay on time my score goes down. Credit One bank shows my December credit score plummet but yet I have an account with all three credit bureaus and Credit One Bank is running two months behind. So how do they figure my credit score is 560 and all credit bureaus have it at between 625-640? They don't have an account with Transunion because I checked it and I get an alert each month.
And it's been going up, not down and another thing, if you can get a secured card, get it. These credit card companies want your score low on purpose to charge you these ridiculous interest rates and fees because they know you will pay them. Stand up and show them. Yes, I had hardship in my life. Things happen. We're human. Why, if you went through hard times, instead of helping, they give bigger fees bigger interest rates?

They were very rude and told us they would not tell us of any plans until we had lost the use of our card. We have always paid on time and would not ask if we knew we would be able to come up with the money. Then we asked to speak with collections. They said no because we were not in collections, then we asked to speak with a supervisor which we were told no.
After a hour of fighting with customer service they finally put us thru to a manager, who would do nothing. After arguing with him for half an hour, he finally put us through to a supervisor, who also said no because we were not in collections. All together, we were on the phone for over three hours just to get information. They were rude, have the time I do not believe one or more of the agents understood English. How are we suppose to make an informed decision if credit one will not give out information?

I have had a Credit One Bank card for one year. I always pay on time and have never ever been late. I have had perfect payment history. Their card started out with a $69 annual fee (billed at $5.75 a month) and a $200 credit limit. They generally charge fees to pay online and do not allow banks to use free electronic transfer, so I mail it in or have the bank automail to their address.
Credit One is extremely slow in processing payments, even if mailed 3 or 4 weeks in advance of the due date. They receive the payments and then hold them without crediting the account, hoping that you'll get a late fee or use their online payment service to get extra fees. They've done this several times to me. I end up paying more fees to avoid the late fees. They are very sneaky.
After about 9 months, they allowed me to get a credit increase to $300 from $200, after a $30 charge to increase it (ugh). They even charge extra to have a design on the card (picture, etc. ). Okay, jump to January 2010. Again, perfect, absolutely perfect payment history with them. Now they change the annual fee from $69 to $99 a year ($5.75 a month to $8.25 a month). I called and asked them why and they said it had nothing to do with my credit, which they say is perfect.
They just "re-evaluated" all cards and some cards got an increase, and some did not (but they could not tell me why?!). Now if I close the account after I pay it off, my credit score could take a dive, even though I have paid on time every month. If you can, avoid Credit One if possible. Even Capital One is much better than this. Be careful of Credit One Bank. They like to hold on to payments, change charges, and play games!

The representative I spoke with was Bell. We came to an agreement that if we paid $370.00 at that time, the credit card would be cleared. She said that she was waiving a total of 6 fees that included 3 late payment charges, and 3 over the credit limit fees, since my card was is in good standing before I had some financial difficutlies.
On August 21, I had an emergency, and thought I would be able to use my card. I checked my balance, and it said that I owed 151.00 and my available credit was 48.00.
So I contacted customer service. I dont remember the rep that I spoke with at that time but she was very rude and nasty. She said that there wasn't any agreement notated on the account. I quickly found the document that the company sent to me confirming the payment of $370. On the 23rd I contacted the company again, trying to find out exactly whats going on. They still showed no record of an agreement.
So basically they swiped my account for $370, and I get $48 out of the deal. I spoke with a supervisor Omar, who didnt know what he was talking about at all. At first, he told me that there was a note on the account to investigate what the $370 payment was for, then seconds later told me that there's wasn't anything notated on my account. I asked to speak with his superior, and he got very nervous and began to stutter, saying that no one was available, and someone would contact me on Monday.
Being in the situation that I am current in financially, I do not have $370 to just throw away. They quickly debited my account on August 4th, but are not quick enough to investigate whats going on. This is a credit card, who has charged me exhorbidant fees since I opened the account. It seems every time I pay them, there is a charge for paying them. When I don't pay them, they charge the most brutal interest, and harass me on a level that interferes with my personal and professional life. My account is closed, but they are still charging the highest possible interest rates they can.
I have a large debt owed to them now, which I fear is going to compromise and damage my life from now on. Buying, renting, leasing anything will be next to impossible because of this company.

Credit One Bank is HORRIBLE! I closed my card with them because the interest rate was TOO high (23.9%). After closing the account I see beginning August 07 my interest rate went to 34%, Sept 36.54%, Oct. 39.95%; Nov. 42.89% and December a WHOPPING 51.5%!! Can you believe and I have NEVER been late on this card or any other!! Beware anyone wanting to get a card from them..

My 18 year old son was solicited for a student credit card from Credit One Bank, with a $200 credit limit. He applied for the card and received a bill for 74.75, a $69 enrollment fee and $5.75 for a prorated annual fee of $69. He called to cancel the card and they said, very rudely, that he had to pay the fees because he used the card once before he got this bill. (This charge was not on the bill.) He sent a letter contesting the charges and we haven't heard from Credit One Bank since then.
I can't believe that this kind of practice is legal. They are taking advantage of the financial naivete of college students. And even with all this going on, yesterday in the mail he received a pre-approved platinum visa application from the SAME bank. The fees are listed on the back of the form - no mention at all on the entire front - and the entire back of the form is printed in gray type (the front is black and colored type), making it very hard to read.

Was going to be a little late with payment. Trying to let them know but there was no email where they would accept incoming email and no phone number. The only address was the one where you're only suppose to send payments. I'm getting ready to send the payment but have been harrassed constantly with phone calls. Even tho it's been explained to one person, I still get phone calls and some are nothing more than a recording and some are coming at 11:30 at night. I've tried to let them know but they fel if they bully they can get me to pay faster that this Thursday.

I had recently changed employers, going from a weekly paycheck to a monthly paycheck. Coming into the new employer at the end of the pay period, my first check was nearly nothing. So I had to work a full month to get my first real full paycheck. I suspected this would cause problems making credit payments on time, so as most creditors say to do, I contacted them to discuss my need for a late payment.
Credit One Bank, formerly First National Bank of Marin was one of my creditors that I was going to fall one month behind (at the MOST) with a payment. Numerous times I contacted them with an update on the exact date that the account would be brought current. The account went to collections on day 1 that I was late. Automated collections calls started.. day after day after day. Up to three times per day an automated system dialed my home, placed whomever answered on hold until a live person could come on the line to remind of the past due amount.
I contacted collections about the numerous calls and was told it was all automated, and the calls will continue to come DAILY until the account was brought current. Even though they KNEW when the account was going to be paid, and an electronic debit was scheduled, they claim there was NO WAY to stop the automated collecton system.
