They sent me a card on day one with 100 Dollars of charges on it and a 500$ limit. So if I had spent practically anything it would have put me over 50% of my credit limit which hurts my credit score. Also I was on the phone talking to multiple people who can't speak English clearly and had to transfer my call to everyone in the building before shutting my account down which forced me to pay the 100 THEY charged on the card. Do not get this card. It is a scam.

I applied for and received a credit card from Credit One in January 2015. I did not realize that there was a $75.00 annual fee (my mistake) I used the card twice for gas purchases only. There was supposed to be a 1% cash back. I did not receive the 1% cash back on the only two purchases I used the card for. In February the $75 annual fee was removed and my February and March statement reflect this. Now, suddenly my April statement shows that I owe $74.82! I have not used the card. I have called and they don't seem to understand.

Since I open this account, I have had nothing but problems with them. I have put in my banking information and did can even get that right. They frozen my online account so I can't even look at my balance. I wouldn't get this card. When I paid my balance I'm stopping my card. DO NOT GET CREDIT ONE CARD.

I've been a credit one card holder for a long time. No problems until now. Somehow, the computer tried to access my savings account for an online payment. That account is not allowed to make payments. They claim it was returned unpaid twice & closed the account. Seems they could have contacted me when it happened so I could fix it. Of course they blame me. If they don't re-instate my account, I will sue them for discrimination. This closing is affecting my health since I have to depend on my credit cards for health care.

I was invited to accept this cc. I called to get a better rate credit for the annual fee and credit for the custom cc itself. Every time you call you get INDIA WORLD... ISH RAMIE GA DAMIE... I was told ONCE I activated the card all of the above would happen. I activated the card and had to hound, hassle and call a gazillion times to get $25 credit towards the annual fee and the $6.99 custom card fee. THEY REFUSE TO ISSUE ME THE REMAINING $20 CREDIT FOR THE ANNUAL FEE. THEY WILL TELL YOU "YES WE WILL DO THIS BUT CALL BACK IN A WEEK FOR THE CREDIT". THEN WHEN YOU CALL THEY SAY NO AND THE GAMES BEGIN AGAIN....
I have been lied to, jacked around, and wasted hours of my time with these clowns... They are sadistic and have no clue what integrity is.... Can't believe the state of NC would allow them to continue this facade. Anyone who is thinking about getting a cc with his group RUN FORREST RUN.... P.S. THEY SUCK, SUCK, SUCK......

Lost my card, called CS. Get someone not well-versed in English. 39 minutes later FINALLY get the acct. terminated and new cards issued. Next day payment due...try to go online to make payment, says acct. suspended. Again call CS...again foreign service center and language barrier. Lady keeps telling me I don't know my password and close browser try again...told her I do know PW, now get me a supervisor...I am MAD. She refused and I hung up.
By the time I get someone to help, it's after posting hrs for payment to be on time. Now 25.00 late fee PLUS 25.00 fee to issue new card for lost one!!! When I ask for someone in US then they suddenly will remove late fee and beg me to please do not cancel the card. Paying the balance off...cutting up the card and mailing it back certified mail to cancel it. I have never been so frustrated in my life. Never been late on any payment and to replace a card was going to cost me 60.00.

I just received an approval for credit and mistaken them for Capital One. I swear their logo is almost or just like Capital One. I went and read all the reviews about this company and not one of them is good. All 1 star even for our service people that are deployed. I am throwing this away because if they can't treat our men and woman right that serve our country and not one comment has above 1 star and looks almost like another credit card company, then that means something is wrong with this company. I'd steer clear. Just my 2 cents.

I've read hundreds of complaints but obviously all of you have terrible credit like myself and if it takes paying a couple extra dollars to help me in the long run it's probably money that I didn't pay out before I filed bankruptcy. My hats off to these foreigners - they found a way to make themselves money and help low credit scorers like myself. Thanks Credit One.

I have not paid on my account in a while. $200. I had planned on paying and getting my account caught up but I am afraid to talk to anyone from the company. They put pressure on you, to pay what you know you can't afford, and will harass you and threaten you. They call me every single day from all their locations around the United States numerous times over and over and over again. They called my mother and told her I was in trouble. She asked if it was a collection agency. ** told her it was way beyond a collection agency, this has gone on too far and if I didn't call they were going to take legal action.
Damn, I am afraid to talk to them. They are hateful and put undue pressure on you to make a promise you know you can't keep. Will not let up. I plan on paying them but I want them to stop calling me. They call my job and they also called another relative. I don't know if was the same guy who called my mother but they called my sister in-law. I never gave them permission to call any relative. I don't have my account number with me now but it is at home. If you contact me I can get the account number.

I was trying to rebuild my credit after a bankruptcy and knew and understood about the high rates and fees that go with it since it's a risk for them. But after about the 3rd month of making online payments from my bank account, they stopped accepting it and started charging me all kinds of late fees and after talking with their call center, I finally got a manager and she was very rude just like the call center and could not give me answers and then they closed my account. I paid them off but would not recommend anyone to do business with them. A LOW LIFE COMPANY!!

I was skeptical at first about getting this card because of the bad reviews. But decided to go ahead and sign up for it and I'm so glad that I did. I have not had any bad experiences whatsoever with this card. As a matter of fact they raised my credit after just 3 months. Now I have a card with Capital One also and that raised my credit in a whole year a whole year. So you decide for yourself and stop listening to the bad reviews. And I am a real customer and no one paid me to say this!!!

I opened this credit card February 2014, they charged $99.00 for me and same amount for the additional card holder. I called to cancel the additional card and they charged me again for that card this February even though the card is cancelled. Also they've been charging me $9.53 a month. I barely noticed it because my balance was low, I didn't pay much attention until last month that the account was paid off they continued to charge the $9.53. Please be aware and read the fine lines because that's their line that we don't read the agreement. What a rip off. Thank God I closed this account.

I have went through a divorce a few years ago. It smashed my credit score. Credit One Bank credit card gave me a chance to restart my credit rebuilding. I highly recommend it for people starting out or rebuilding. If you are on time with your payments, they boost your credit. Don't use it all at once and keep the balance low. You will see your credit rise slowly but surely.

It took approximately six months before this company started reporting. I felt like that was a long time, but I guess that's the cost of having poor credit.
Original Review: May 2, 2015
I was attempting to purchase a home, but was unable to qualify for a loan due to a poor credit score. I contacted a consultant trying to get options for raising my credit score. He suggested I apply for a secured or unsecured credit card. He said to only utilize about 30% of the credit limit and pay it off each month, or pay payments, but to pay them on time each month. He said this would help build up my credit score. I chose this card, despite the monthly/yearly service fee (which I pay simply for the privilege of owning their card), plus their ridiculous apr. The ONLY reason I got this card was because it was the only company that would issue me a credit card based on my credit score. I read through all the paperwork (pages and pages of fine print) and thought it was a small price to pay for rebuilding my credit.
I have had this card for 3 months now. Every time I log in to check out the activity on my account to be sure I'm being charged what I expected, I also click on the link at the top of the column located on the right upper side of the page. It clearly says, "Credit Score Active." Below that it says "Credit Score N/A." Below that is a link to click on, which takes me to another page where I can "view complete summary" of that report. However, when I click the link, it goes to a new page which I'm assuming is where my credit score information is supposed to be. There is a graph chart and below it is a "Summary of Your Credit Report." Every single category has a zero in it.
This is very disheartening to me because I only got this credit card on the advice of a credit counselor. The company charges an atrocious amount of fees for the privilege of owning their great card, which I have paid, on time, for the past 3 months, just to find out they aren't even reporting to the credit agencies!!!! I Googled a few things, trying to find out why this is the case, and every time I do, I come across forums of people who are completely dissatisfied with this company. The next time, I will definitely do my homework before hand. Lesson learned. ):

Maybe I need to get a lawyer to get this fixed, I'm sure they will send me a bill for the fraud charges being made on the card I never received. Seems that the bank keeps sending me bills for the things I did not buy on the card I never received. Oh and they seem to get the address right when they won't me to the bill. I received an offer in the mail of a $300 credit card with Credit One. I do not have the best credit so I figured this would help work on that, boy was I wrong!! I used my card up to $250 when it was stolen at 711 gas station. 3 days later I went to use it realizing it was gone. I called right away to report it stolen. It took 30 mins to get someone on the phone who barely spoke English. They said the account was closed and I would receive something in the mail and a new card. I asked what the balance currently was he said, "I can't see as of right now ma'am." I advised I was sure I only used 250 as shown online. I told him I would try to log into my account and check and see for myself. He was ok with that at first until I tried going on my account to realize "I cannot be found in the system." I called twice to be hung up on.
A ten days later I received back dated mail with the fax number manually whited out on the bottom left corner saying if they did not receive my response in 10 from the date of the letter which was back dated (meaning the day I would receive it in the mail it would be null and void). Let me back up they did send me a new card however including another back dated later then closing ALL accounts stating some lie "due to my credit history they have decided up return my PAYMENT of $25 and are canceling all accounts and they will be reporting my unpaid balance to every major credit company." I was baffled but mostly disgusted. Not only did I pay my payment on time. They denied it. They were the ones who sent me an offer with my name on it to my home address. If they knew I had bad credit why send an offer?!
I attempted to contact them another time being placed on hold for 20-30 mins. Speaking with a rude woman who again, couldn't speak English. I explained, well tried to explain, my issue when she cut me off saying "Sorry your accounts are closed," NO **! Then hung up on me. I mailed in my paperwork the day I received it, she claimed they have nothing. I am so upset because I have been with Capital One for 4 years who have treated me amazing. Both accounts are actually paid off with Capital One. This wanna be Capital One is a complete fraud to steal from people and ruin our credit.
Today was my last straw. I tried calling Credit One customer service to find out from the automated system my account is in collections and to call 888-303-3005, spoke with a man **, explaining the situation for him to tell me call back in 7-10 business days because this is new to them and no one has reviewed it. I said "I am calling to make a payment in full to get this out of collections." He said, "Call back in 7-10 business days I can't help you today." I said, "It is in collections. I would like to pay off my balance there should be nothing to look over except an amount owed!" He said call back in 7-10 business days. I said, "No I will file a lawsuit in 7-10 business days" and I hung up and I am. I am done with these horrible people ruining everyone's credit!!! I've been a paralegal for 10 years and by the complaints of over 500 I am sure I can make this a class action against these scumbags scam artists.

Almost 2 years ago I applied for the card and started with a $300 limit. I have never been late and rarely paid the minimum. I now have a credit score in the low 700's and these people said (in broken English) that they refuse to lower my rate. No problem... first they rob me with the rate. Then they rob me because I want to pay the balance with a 0-interest CC, and they charge me $9.95. Calling to complain does no good. They claim to not have supervisors, they are either in the Philippines or India. So what I'm doing as soon as I finish this posting is writing to the Attorney General of Washington State, The BBB, and some of Washington State's Law Makers. I'll be CCing my attorney also. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS CREDIT CARD TO MY WORST ENEMY!!! BEWARE.

Called in regarding payment and why the payment amount changed. I always call and verify what the minimum payment is before I make a payment to make sure that I don't pay less than the minimum amount. Called in, it stated $32 so I paid $32. One day later, received notification of a late payment. Listen to system, it indicated minimum amount was now $37. Spoke with the rep. Rep stated don't worry about it, he would transfer the $5 to next month's payment and that no payment was needed at the time and my next payment was due May. I told the rep 3 times I can just pay the $5, that way everything was good and the rep said no need, he took care of it. I again told he I'll just pay he said, "no need ma'am" 'cause he took care of it.
Called back today to verify the outcome was in fact resolved and to my surprise I was lied to. Spoke with rep again. Rep could not answer my question kept telling me my account balance and they refused to transfer me to a supervisor. Spoke with supervisors and all he could say was, "sorry you were misinformed but it is what it is". Now I'm charged a $25 late fee after the stupid rep told me not to make a payment for the $5. This company deserves no stars. And their so called customer service sucks, no, it's non-existent. Paying this card off and closing my account. I can't stand companies that lie and rip you off.

I've read several negative reviews about Credit One bank credit card, but applied anyway. Several of the complaints was about the upfront cost of $75.00 for the annual membership cost. I received my card about two ago and proceeded to activate and went online and reviewed my account. At that time I went online and setup my account and noticed that I was not billed the yearly membership fee, just a fee of $35.00 that is due by 5/22/15. I'm not saying that this is the best card, but they took a chance on me when no one else would and for that am grateful. Those folks that made those negative reviews about the card, should realize that Credit One didn't force you to apply.

Their website is just trash. It's not very helpful because they just give you a lot of FAQ and most of the time, they don't even make sense. I wanted to request a PIN so I can get cash from an ATM. Went to their website to find out how I can get one. I went into the FAQ section and there was a question there saying "Can I request a PIN online?" it just says, Yes, You can, blah blah blah... no links to the page where I can request the PIN and I tried for a while to find this PIN requesting page, I gave up, couldn't find it (because there is none).
I tried calling customer service... of course like all big companies, there was an automated message prompt. Gave me a bunch of options EXCEPT to speak with a customer representative, and also, you can't request a customer representative by speaking, you can only press numbers. My question is, Do they have people working? O_O It's kind of frustrating because I just wanted to talk to a real person but couldn't get a hold of one. I been with Credit One Bank for 2 years now, I never had to call them so this is the first time and it was really annoying. So in continuation to a sour first impression with this product. I called the customer service and I must say I did not wait that long at all. I got in touch with a customer service rep ** I guess you can say they're outsourced.
I politely asked the rep how is it possible that I have not even activated the card and I already received a bill for USD$75 and he replied that is the introductory annual fee. I told the rep that I wanted to reject this account/card, I will not activate card and if he could help me close this account. He asked me that I could activate card and paid fee and use account BUT I explained to him that I have decided to go for a different CC which doesn't have an annual fee and I would greatly appreciate it if he helps to close this account and he told me let me see what I can do.
After a brief hold he told me that given the fact that I did not activate card and will not be using the account either, he will credit back the account with the USD$75 originally charged to bring balance to ZERO and account will be CLOSED. I repeatedly asked him and make sure that I understood correctly what he just said and he said that the next bill stub will reflect the credit back and the balance to ZERO meaning that THE ACCOUNT IS NOW CLOSED. I even got a reference number.
Although a bit stressed and already praying that this is truly the case I am grateful and lucky that this was and, in fact is and, will be the FINAL case. Also I am submitting their cardholder agreement in which states what just happened above. So if you have NOT activated card and you are NOT planning on using it I believe you have a chance to rectify this situation. Because they should NOT charge you upfront without even receiving the card nor having activated it yet. Although it explains they can charge you annual fee upfront as long as you have not activated card I believe the options to cancel this account are good. Hope this Helps. :))

I cannot believe I fell for this. Like many small people I wanted to rebuild my credit and I came across with this offer of getting a credit card. I finally decided to apply, I got a 400 credit line. Although I was aware of the annual fee. How is this even possible that without receiving the card, not even activate it I had received a bill for the annual fee 75 and have to pay at least the minimum payment of 25. This is demoralizing and discouraging. How does this help anybody to build or even rebuild a credit? It is horrible now I have to pay it off and yes! I want to close cancel this card. This truly sucks and I am already expecting the worst when I call their customer service. :(((

I applied for this credit card company so I could build up my credit. Yeah, the interest rate was high, but what do you expect when you're just building from the bottom? I paid everything on time, never had a problem, but keep in mind they charge for everything. The credit line increase, they'd charge for that. They have monthly fees, and as well as charging you if you pay online. When I finally decided to close the account, had no way of contacting a person you could actually talk to. Good thing I knew that if you just hitting the * key, it will finally transfer you to an actual human being.
All three of the people I talk to have a strong mideastern accent, so expect not to understand them. But I closed my account without any problem other than the fact they charge me the interest for that month. All and all, it's an okay credit company. Go with them if you only desperately need to; if not, there's other companies that won't charge you ridiculously as this one.

I have had a Credit One Bank Credit Card for years with no problems whatsoever. However, last October they declined a charge from a merchant in the Bahamas. This merchant has been charging my card monthly for dockage for my boat. When I called I was told they were having problems with that merchant. I called the merchant and they told me they never had any problems with Credit One. I called back to Credit One and this time they said there was no reason for the decline but because of the decline I would have to have a new card issued. I said, "Fine, please send it to me."
I have had the same address since I started with them but weeks and weeks went by with no card. I called and they said the mail had been returned. This happened 4 times over the following months. I could not pay my bill online because it was locked. Finally, I called again and asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor said we could try changing my address. We did that and today I finally received mail from them but it was not my card. It was a change of address confirmation letter. It came to both my home and my P.O. Box. I am so tired of their foolishness. But, I will call them again today and we will see what happens this time.

I applied for a Capital One Credit Card in hopes of helping my credit after the death of my husband. I only had a $500 limit so I wanted to purchase easter gifts for my two children. I spent $118 total... two days later I received a phone call from an Indian woman who could barely speak English. So after 15 minutes of being on the phone with her, I realized I was being harassed by her for me using MY credit card for my own purchases. She told me that I was suppose to only use MY credit card to transfer my balance from another credit card to the Credit one card. I have never in my life heard of this. Well, the harassment only began from that day forward. I continued getting harassed on a daily basis of up to 5-6 times per day, on Saturday and sundays, holidays etc... all hours of the day and night. Mind you, I wasn't late with my payment nor was my payment even due... they have caused me stress, anxiety, nervousness, etc over nothing.
I'm now trying to pay my balance (which is now up to $166.44)... when I only used $118.14 & it hasn't even been 30 days. They have screwed me worse than I've ever been screwed... I would NEVER, EVER recommended Credit one to my worst enemy let alone a friend. So now when I try calling them to pay off my balance, the phone calls are all static & you cant hear them speak... another number wants me to pay $9.95 to make a payment, the other option is to sign up for some kind of website access to make your payments. Omg this is absolutely insane and unacceptable... why aren't these people stopped & shut down?? Nobody should ever have to go thru what I'm going thru for no reason whatsoever. But you're already going to be charged a late fee so just make your payment now!" She started to get attitude with me and I asked for her supervisor. She said no call customer service tomorrow. I was going to make the payment and to finally call on Monday and close the card. Then she says I will owe interest on what I owe plus a $9.50 processing fee! It's ridiculous they are trying to get money from wherever they can. I would be surprised if they try to charge me a closing out fee. Don't get the card. It's not worth it in the long run. REMEMBER! YOU CAN ASK TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE IN THE UNITED STATES AT ANY TIME DURING THE PHONE CALL AND THEY HAVE TO TRANSFER YOU!!! In March, 2015, I paid this credit card in full of over $1500. Then I get my statement yesterday and there is an interest charge of $6.66. I called today to get that removed since I paid in full. (Now you need to know that I paid several credit cards off last month and none of them gave me a hard time removing the finance charge since I paid in full, and told me it was no problem.) BUT Credit One said, "No!" right off the start. I ask why and was told it was a finance charge (as if I did not know). I ask again and he would not budge. So I ask for a supervisor and he stated the same thing, "No!" on taking off finance charge.
So I ask to speak with someone in the United States. When I said that he immediately said he would take off the charge for me BUT only a one time deal. I still asked to speak with someone in the United States so he transferred me after 15 minutes. I got a manager, **, and I told her what happened over a small $6.66. I also ask her, "Is that true that if I was to pay off my credit card in full and I asked for the finance charge to be removed I would not get that because I only get one time deal?" She said, "YES!!" That is only one time deal. This took me 40 minutes. Every other credit card company, I had no problems. BEWARE of this company. Before 2008 I had very good credit (757). As with many, the only reason I went with a card with such poor terms ($75 annual fee and high APR) was because I must rebuild my poor credit since my bankruptcy since the 2008 crash. I realized I'd be paying these high fees but I had no idea how bad they can be. I have had this card for one month now. For the bank, I'm their lowest risk customer. I pay my balance in full as soon as it appears on my account (4-9 days). Thus I hit a $0 balance frequently throughout the month.
Problems... (there practices should be illegal) At the end of my first month I had had a $0 balance for over ten days already. I was surprised to see a $1.13 finance charge show up. I called them and they explained that they charge interest on a daily basis. This is crazy and doesn't happen on 'normal' cards. I was then unable to make an online 'standard' (free) payment. They said that I had already made the maximum four payment allowed on my account per month and that I could only make an 'express' payment, for the additional fee. I refused. I asked where I could find the terms of such a policy. She came back with: "it is not in the Card Agreement, it was an internal policy." I told her this was ridiculous and I wanted her to show me where I could find this "internal policy" stated. She didn't answer that request and offered to process an 'express' payment for me and wave the fee for this one time.
I made the payment for the "current balance" of $47.06 plus another $.06 for the interest, making the payment $47.12. I found where the policy terms have the daily interest verbiage.. however, I think a limitation on number of payments a customer can make (free of charge) to their own balance must (or should) be illegal!!
Note for the next person: This bank bombards you with options that come with fees. The only way to speak with customer service is to keep pressing "0" although it is not a stated option. This is the worst credit card I have ever heard of and I will certainly be closing this account as soon as I can get a "real credit card!!"

My son applied for this card that was promoted as no annual fee. But they do charge a $75 fee that is only disclosed when you receive the card. Then, by the first statement they charge interest and a late fee on the $75 fee! He owed over $100 without making a purchase! They claim it's a card to help people build credit but it's actually a scheme to rip off those who perhaps can't get a better card. They charge these hidden fees, they charge interest starting day 1 of a purchase, no 30 days to pay the balance, interest is immediate and compounded! Customer service is all in India and The Philippines and can't help with any complaints - you have to keep escalating your complaint to get to someone in Nevada who can actually help. They are taking advantage of people who may have little or not good credit! Stay away from this one!!

Besides loan sharks, never have I seen a credit card company charge interest from the first day of purchase. You cannot avoid a monthly interest payment with Credit One (who from this point forward, will be aka ScamOne). In fact they charge interest on the basis of an Average Daily Balance. So if you go off on a shopping spree and spend that initial limit of $300, better pay right away, because if you pay on the due date, you already owe them $306. Understand my own habits: I always pay in full my CC balance, and usually pay a week prior to the due date.
Not to mention the immediate $75 annual fee (ANNUAL FEE 02/15 THROUGH 01/16, that's directly copied and pasted from their statement, there's not even 12 months there), plus some sort of $19 fee (AUTHORIZED USER FEE LAS VEGAS NV D) they added on as soon as I got the card. Before the first payment of these fees, they contacted me by phone repeatedly about before a statement even arrived, or the actual due date. They offered to take my payment by phone for an additional $9.95. "No thanks," I told her, I will wait for my statement, and pay ScamOne directly using my bank. She said they'd waive the fee, so I paid over the phone after all. The $9.95 fee shows up on my statement, also with a credit for the same amount. I wonder if that raised my Average Daily Balance for interest purposes.
On the PLUS side, here's a strange thing: they do reward, based on your spending. They call these rewards (CREDIT ONE REWARD CREDIT LAS VEGAS CREDIT) one month for .89 and another for 6 cents. The third month, I didn't even get a penny even though I did pay 93 interest. Into my fourth month they have raised my credit limit to $500. Think they will see me going to $300 again? Forget it!! So far in 3 months using ScamOne I have purchased things (no fees or int) for a total of $428.12. I have been charged $8.51 in interest, $94.00 in fees, and a pair of rewards for 95 cents. So beware of this predatory bank. I'll be canceling at the 9 month point (before the next annual rip-off) and see how much trouble it is to close. From what I've read, it looks like hell.

There is no CS when I call and make a payment, it is all foreigners. They are rude, you cannot understand what they are saying and this is very frustrating. I will pay this card off and not use it anymore. Too much hassle.... When you have no local CS, that is a problem. Very dissatisfied... I have had this card well over a year and my payment was paid on the 18th, was due the 17th - a 25.00 late fee. I'm through with the issue.....

My husband just received his card not even a month ago with a $300 starting limit. The company already charged $75 which we were fine with. His due date isn't until the 2nd of the month and we received a phone call asking for a payment prior to the due date. He is not even late on the bill. How is this not illegal debt collecting practices. They should be sued for harassment! I can't believe they think it's ok to prey on people who are simply trying to get their credit back right.

Every month I pay this Visa card automatically with Bill Pay at my bank. My payments are not getting credited to my account. Bill Pay has called them that the checks were cashed. They said that they issued me a new credit card replacement and that I didn't update the new number on my Bill Pay. They won't tell me where my payments went. I have late fees that weren't removed. I am trying to rebuild my credit score. I don't get credit for paying early, they think that I am late. I use Bill Pay from West Bank Iowa. Bill Pay's phone is 866-409-5440. They have called this Credit One twice on my behalf for not crediting my account and charging ridiculous late fees when I paid early.

I accepted Credit One's offer for a card because it was all I could get at the time. So sorry I did. It was fine for awhile, then one day it was declined for a purchase from a well-known, upscale online merchant. I had plenty credit available; I had checked. Tried again the next day, same result. Called them and they said that merchant is "suspicious". Whaaaat? They assured me all was well now.
I take a friend to lunch at La Madeleine. Huge, successful chain. Declined. Same story when I call. But assured all is fine now! And throughout all this, I'm looking online and sure enough, I have credit available. Tried another online company. Declined again. They just keep saying I'm shopping at "suspicious" places. Why have a credit card, and pay annual fees, if you can't use it?!?! I've been using credit cards for 40 years. Never seen this happen. This company is a JOKE. I cancelled the card, cut it up, and now have a goal to pay it off and rid myself of them forever. In the meantime, my husband got a Discover card, and a 2nd one with my name on it! A GOOD COMPANY!! Night and day, these two.

First of all this a sub prime lender. As a sub prime lender that have to be aggressive or they will go out of business. Let's face it, their good paying customers leave because they are able to get better cards. They charge interest from day one. They charge a high membership fee, that they will reduce if you threaten to cancel BEFORE YOU USE THE CARD.
It's a business model that has been around for a long time and they serve a service for people that have problems with credit for whatever reason. My advice if you get one of these cards is to use this card for 1 tank of gas each month, they will credit your 1% that will cover the interest and then pay it off in full the same day you get your statement. This will help your credit and before long you can get a better credit card and cancel this one.

I stopped using my card since December 2014 even though I pay my monthly bills just to monitor the account but still receive the same statement over the phone.
When i received my account statement, i noticed some transactions made in my account which I am not responsible for. I have never shopped online with my card, neither have i Traveled outside New York. But to my utmost surprise, most of these transactions were done outside NY. When I called and reported on the phone, one of your agent told me that it will be taken care of but this fraud is still on. I even got some calls on my home phone from people claim to be calling from Credit one bank asking me to make huge payment in my account which I found unusual. This is one of the reason I stopped using the CARD BUT continued paying my monthly bills just to monitor it. DO NOT ORDER A CREDIT ONE BANK CARD! You'll be sorry you did... Their contract agreements are designed to MISLEAD the consumer. Upon receiving your first statement, an ambiguous fee of $75.00 is charged to your card; even though you haven't used the card. Call them to remove it from your statement and they'll reduce the fee.
Credit One Bank makes it difficult for you to pay your bill even when you're paying, on time. I've NEVER paid my bill late. It takes 5-7 DAYS, if you pay your bill on their site but FOR A FEE, they'll process it sooner but doesn't guarantee that the payment won't be reported as late; of which you'll pay A LATE FEE. Beware of the revolving balance interest. They change at will with this bank and interest accrues at the time of the purchase.
THIS IS NOT CAPITAL ONE BANK, another mislead to you thinking it's a highly rated American bank. I'm not sure this is a real bank because they do business out of INDIA and in the Asian Time Zone. The offshore aspect of Credit One makes me feel very insecure with this company. Every possible way for the account holder to communicate with the Credit One Bank is blocked. You should consult a credit agency to see how canceling this card would affect your credit rating.

I immediately called and it took them 90 Days to investigate, meanwhile I was required to make a minimum payment on the total that was fraudulently billed. That much I could maybe understand, but they cut off all access for me to get any information on the account and I could even understand that. When it was finally determined it was fraudulent I was unable to close the account with them or speak with anyone regarding the account. I needed information about if I still owe anything and they only give you a number to the fraud department.
When you call this number there is a message to leave your info and they will call back within 48 hrs. If you miss their call within that 48 hours you have to start all over again and wait another 48 hours and so on. Trying to close an account is virtually impossible because they send you to several departments and nobody has authorization to close it. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BANK EVEN IF YOU HAVE BAD CREDIT. Firstly, I am a great customer for over 2 years now. I pay my accounts online and never carry over a balance more than 20%. Early March on 3/2/15 my account had some fraudulent activity on it and I called Credit One Bank regarding these unknown purchases. When I called about it they told me that I would have to wait 10 business days to get a replacement card and I thought that was absurd. I explained to them as a valued customer I should not have to wait 10 business days for my card and it should be sent out next day at no charge to me. They declined.
After 56 mins of battling with them getting nowhere I informed the manager that I had to get off the phone as I was driving and lost and that I needed to call my husband. He insisted on still talking to him. I told him that I was driving and that he would have to call me back. 2 days later I received a call from the manager telling me that I had to pay for the RushCard and I declined. He disconnected the call and without my knowledge turned my card off.
On 3/11/15 I called asking what was happening with my account and the rep told me my card was cut off and a new card was issued and sent out. It would take 10 business days. At this point I am pissed off. I asked for a supervisor and I was on hold for 40 mins the rep hung up!! I decided to just wait on my card as it was going to come within the time before my payment is due. Please note I cannot make any payments nor do I have any access to my account because my card was cancelled by Credit One Bank.
Today 3/23/15 I called spoke to a rep. When I asked for a manager he began raising his voice because I declined his assistance. His supervisor ** came on the phone and told me that is was ok for the previous rep to yell at me. I then asked her for her supervisor **. ** told me that NO card was sent to me. Note today is 3/23/15. I then asked, "Why not?" She said she didn't know. I then asked her, "Why haven't I received the fraudulent affidavit yet?" She said she is not sure but she will send them out today. I was pissed!!!! ** said she was going to send my card 3-5 business day at no charge but wanted me to pay for the $9.99 for the express payment and I said no!
I told ** that they dropped the ball and that I was not going to pay for any express payment when my account was closed by them without my knowledge! ** got the fee waived and processed my payment. Earlier in the conversation ** offered for me to speak to the corporate office. Initially I declined and I then decided to speak to someone. I was transferred to **. ** kept telling me that I didn't begin the investigation process when I did. ** excuse was that I was driving. I told her that I did begin the process and that the only reason the only issue in the call was that I was not going to pay for a RushCard for $25! That was the issue. It was unfair to me the customer having to pay for my card due to fraud.
** kept saying repeatedly that I was driving and I kept saying to her, "There is no excuse for my info not being logged for fraud," thus not having any affidavit sent to me was not fault of mine because I did call in and report the fraud on 3/2/15. ** kept saying I was driving I then told her to listen to the call on 3/2/15! These people are horrible. I will be canceling my service whenever they start the investigation process. It's already been over 3 weeks and these people still didn't send me the affidavit. Their excuse is it's because I was driving! Horrible people.

I see complaints about not seeing your statement online. I view it every month online, you go to your account and look under monthly statements. As for fees and payments on time, it clearly states if you pay online through your bank that it can take up to 7 days to reflect, so obviously pay it BEFORE the due date. When you don't have perfect credit, you have no choice but to have to deal with fees, lots of them along with higher interest rates because we are considered a "High Risk" and if you give it time and pay on time and don't go over your limit, then your credit score goes up as does your credit limits.
I have not had a single problem with Credit One. They gave me a card when no one else would and gave me the chance to prove I am credit worthy again. Paid on time monthly and my line increased. I get rewards for gas and other purchases. You also CAN use this card anywhere. So for the one who is having an issue with Amazon, check Amazon. I have never had a problem using my card online anywhere.

I filled out the application and was approved for 1,500$ credit limit and my card was in the mail. I used the card sparingly and only spent 200$ and about three weeks in, I decided to make a payment. So I called Capital One and they told me I didn't have an account with them and to look at the card and see what bank it was from. So I called customer service for Credit One to make a payment but was not able to without being charged 10$ for an instant payment and an early payment charge. So I opted to pay online but wasn't able to due to not having chosen the paperless route. So I waited to receive my billing statement but it never came. 2 days late at this time I start receiving over 20 harassing phone calls starting at 6 am a day while I'm at work (I work 16 hour late night shifts).
My only day off, I call them and let them know I want to pay in full but would like to know why I haven't receive a billing statement, they let me know they sent it on the 15th and that my bill was due on the 11th. I constantly ask why it was sent 4 days after the fact and they had no answer for me. They had added multiple charges on my account exceeding 100$. For 3 months of my bill going up instead of down with payments of more than the minimum, I called as asked why and if I was being charged an annual fee. The answer was yes, I was being charged over $8 a month. That adds up to at least $100 a year. I was never notified of this change to my agreement. After being harassed for a payment for 5 minutes over the phone (which was due to late charges which should not have happened as my bank sends the payment and they didn't process it) the charges were cleared and I made an additional payment to be one ahead. At that moment, everyone working phones applauded and congratulated him on his accomplishment. It doesn't get more unprofessional than this.

I ended up speaking with a very young sounding customer support Rep that gave conflicting answers to every question. She first told me it would take 3 weeks to review the application - then immediately said "call next week to check." I asked what happened to "immediate response online." She just robotically repeated that I must call back. Never answered my question.
So, fine, I called the next week, and was informed that I needed to send a copy of my Social Security card - to verify my number. I asked why this was needed, as none of my current credit card companies, or car loan holders had ever asked for this. It was here that I just started to feel something was off, and potentially shady. When I pushed the issue she stated that Visa had requested it. I already have a Visa card, and they never asked for this. No matter what I asked, she responded with non-answers that where clearly from a script.
I asked to speak to a Supervisor. After several minutes on hold, I was informed the Supervisor was busy on a call, but would take a call-back for 24-72 hours. I, sincerely, doubt I would ever receive that call. The entire time I was holding, I was reading the horrendous customer reviews about all of the really scammy, fraudulent things that had taken place. I requested that my application be cancelled. I was told it was corrected and the card would be mailed to me. Several more weeks passed and no card. I called a third time and again was told the card had been mailed to the wrong address. Another week passed and no card. I received a letter stating they had been unable to reach me and needed to speak with me regarding my account (although I'd received no calls or previous letters). Apparently I had made a payment in Feb. that never was processed and I was never notified about it not going through. They locked my account the following month; when I tried to go on and pay, the online service told me: "Temporarily Suspended. Access to your account has been temporarily suspended. Please call us: 1-877-825-3242."
When I called the lady said I missed a payment and needed to pay the minimum payment due so I said ok. The lady on the phone let me know $50 was due and there was a processing fee. I told her that is fine and to go ahead and pay $100 since I knew that was my balance left on it anyways. The following week I try to go on and see my balance. Again my account is still locked so I call to see what was going on and why it was still locked. Got a hold of another rep (she put me on hold for well over 10 minutes), she told me my account was cancelled since I didn't make my payment last month. I asked her what had happened to the $100 I paid last week she said that went to the account balance. I asked why I was not notified the first time about my account being cancelled after I made my payment. She made a round about and said that it was my responsibility to find that out before I make payments.
But if I would like to get my account re-activated, I would need to show a letter from my bank showing I made the payment for them to "re-consider" me as a customer. I would need to send this letter to a P.O. BOX in Las Vegas. Worst service ever! Why was there no notification for a missed payment (they had my phone number and my email)? Why did they go straight to cancelling my account rather then letting me know so I can make the payment? These are the things I asked myself. I opened my new credit card account in late 2014 after receiving one of their "Pre-Approved" offers. I had recently returned to consistent and regular employment so I wanted to raise my credit score with another credit reference (already had Capital One and Walmart (Synchrony Bank) credit cards with decent limits, so Credit One's offer (and approval of $300) was appealing -- I saw the $75 initial fee that was fully disclosed so that was OK given my purpose of expanding credit references).
The only problem I encountered was going over my limit by less than $1 (after a cash advance fee to try out that feature) and getting repeated voice messages one day about an "...urgent matter that needs your attention..." -- clearly from an off-shore Customer Service agent since the full content of the message was difficult to fully understand with the person's accent, other than it was a fairly serious matter.
I returned the call... spoke with a CS Supervisor... and got the issue(s) resolved by agreeing to make a payment to cover the cash advance amount immediately, which I did online and it posted to my account the next day. I've made all payments online (instead of the Express Pay option) even though it states they'll show up in several business days... they always post in 3 days or less... and generally I haven't experienced the types of problems like others who've reviewed Credit One Bank -- so I'm 'knocking on wood' that my general satisfaction will continue.
Also I signed up for and get their personalized Alerts - the Credit Score they post though, is lower than what I see regularly on Credit Karma (that I use to monitor my score monthly) and I guess the next test will be to see if they raise my limit as promoted, since all of my payments have been online and either more than the 'minimum' or balance paid in full.
I'll see what the future holds, but generally I'm a satisfied cardholder so I wanted my experiences to be listed in this forum with all of the others who haven't been that way unfortunately. Maybe COB is taking them to heart and implementing positive change(s) that ultimately will benefit them and us as customers--my objective '2 cents worth' and hope it helps others looking for a way to obtain more credit and improve their credit scores (also save too by paying balances off in full when you can).

The online system has issues with the sign in and when we informed them their response was "oh that sucks but it's not my problem." They say they open at 6 but at 6:30 they're still closed. Their response with that was "So what's the big deal." We have to go through the same crap every time of authorizing my wife even though she was supposed to be on the account from the beginning but they always said "No sir you are not making a true statement because there would have been documentation of her on here," and everytime I'd have to add her again just for her to never be added. They are completely disrespectful hateful and so unprofessional. This is the biggest joke of a company. Don't use them.

Then bogus late charges and transfer fees started popping up. I cancelled the card through their website and still was told I owed the full credit amount of $300. Now I have a charge off on my credit report. Don't bother to call their offices, you will be directed to their Indian outsourced service and receive no help at all. This is a fraudulent awful business and I strongly suggest that you do not apply for a card.

The last 3 months they have refused to credit me back for the late payment fees that they charge each month. It amazes me that if you are struggling to make a regular payment that when you have to wait for your check to come each month, they double your payment for the next month and charge you a late fee that make it 3 times as hard to keep your payments current. All the many other credit card co I do business with have been very willing to not charge any fees in an effort to keep my accounts current. They can't speak English and you cannot understand what they are saying, they are rude and not too bright. This will be the first card I pay off and will cancel it as soon as I can.

We paid this account off in full a month ago including the $10 fee they charge to make a payment with debit card. Today I received another bill. When I called their representatives (located in the Philippines), I was told that we used the card the day before and it didn't show up on the card. This is absolutely not true. That transaction was made on the 3rd and I paid on the 5th - absolutely no way that they can have a 2-day wait before charges are showing up. We closed this card because they charged us a late fee when we made a payment with our credit union. We had a confirmation number and everything and were told it didn't go through. Who charges to take your money anyway?

If there was an option not to give a star that's what I would of chosen. I received this credit card in December 2014. At first the website was unable to accept my payments, took me a few tries. Then the payment came back as being done in error, so I attempted again and did not hear back from them. Same thing happened the following month. This is not a credit card I use on a constant and I had a low balance, so I felt no need to check online on the activity. I go make my payment for March and I'm unable to log in, so I called customer service. I spoke with someone who is clearly not from USA.
He told me my account was closed because my payments had an error... whatever that means.. it wasn't because of no funds just an error. Now in order to pay this card off and rid of it not from my credit because damage has been done, but rid of the headache... I'm being asked to provide them with another credit card. I DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. I will have to find a way to send payment certified mail. I WISH I WOULD OF NEVER ACCEPTED THIS CREDIT CARD.

I started to do some research and found they are located at: Credit One Bank, 625 E. Pilot Road, Las Vegas, NV 89119 and their phone number is: 702-269-1000. I plan on trying them again in the morning (800 number), contacting www.helpwithmybank.gov, and checking with the three credit bureaus to see if there are any bad remarks/hard inquiries from Credit One Bank. The representative notified me that the balance would remain on the card and they will credit me in 30-60 days (no later than 90) to receive credit and I have to continue to make payments!!!!
You have to be kidding me!! In the past when I've had to file fraudulent claims (Chase and Capital One) I received a temporary credit so that I wouldn't have to pay interest or payments towards a balance I did NOT charge. I opened a Credit One Bank card account in 4/2014 and made regular and timely payments even though I never received a monthly statement. I was admitted to the Veterans Hospital for care and was receiving countless calls from people who spoke very poor English and they demanded FULL PAYMENT, even though credit card companies can ask for full payment approaching with a minimum payment due validates the genuineness of the call, in my opinion.
Identity theft is the number one crime reported today in America and it is on the rise. I requested that statements be mailed, this would allow my Case Manager at the Veterans Hospital to pay that bill with my funds, but they would never send the statement. After release from the hospital I pulled a Credit Karma report and this account is closed by creditor. Credit Karma's report showed a balance of $545.77 (interest charges and late fees), so I called and they couldn't discuss anything with me until that amount was paid. I paid it the next day 3-5-2015. Now the account is still closed and will still be reported as late payments exceeding 90 days.
I think this is criminal because to my knowledge, I had to send them $300.00 from which they used $75 for processing/membership fees leaving me with an available balance of $225.00 on my card. So out of this $545.77 I paid, I should have at least $225.00 available to me. Then I was looking at the fee schedule and I was billed $6.25 for membership fees for 4/2015, which hasn't arrived yet and my account is closed, so I am not a member to which they can bill me, but they did.
These people take advantage of Americans with bad credit, in the fact that all their agents and phone support is located in India, who call demanding full payment, making no offer to provide a statement of charges, they have no fax line to submit requests, they have not answered mail requests, and they do not have an email process... always a phone call that is routed overseas to a person who speaks broken English and "Oh, I'm sorry sir, I have made that request for you, you should have it in 7 to 10 business days, can I process that payment for you now?" A legitimate Credit Card Company should have better customer service and customer care operations. Because they would not provide monthly statements I was unable to make required payments, so interest rates doubled my debt, my account is closed, and my credit reports are damaged.

I had a credit card with Credit One Bank in an effort to rebuild my credit. I was getting ready to go overseas and checked all of my cards to find that this one had been hacked!! It seems that the hackers created a duplicate site and got my password etc etc. They then preceded to max out my card, pay it off with my bank info that was stored in the credit one site and then max out my card again. They changed my address within the website and then got all of my info and opened a bunch of other accounts with other companies with this info.
Credit One have been less than helpful, they have barely acknowledged the fraud due to a lack of security on their part and I have had to spend hrs on the phone trying to resolve the issue. In the beginning they even advised I pay my minimum balance!! I had paid that card off in full so I was not going to pay them anything. I have had to close my bank account, order all new checks, etc etc and deal with the other accounts that have been fraudulently opened in my name.
Not once have they issued any apology or anything, there is no accountability at all. I also had to deal with not having any cards while I was traveling as this all happened a few days before I left. I am just thankful that I noticed as they didn't catch a thing and the thieves would have been able to go unnoticed for who knows how long. Avoid Credit One at all costs.

Credit One Bank has got to be one of the worst, if not THE worst, credit card companies in history, and I'm just putting that lightly. Anyone who has one of these credit cards have already witnessed how they call and lie to you to get you to pay more than you have to. I've been lied to multiple times but one incident today threw me over the roof. My payment date is 5 days away and the rep told me that he needed a payment that day so I don't get a late fee. I told him I'll skip the ($10) Express Payment and just do a (free) standard payment online. Makes sense, right? Well, not to him. He was bold enough to tell me that if I don't do the express payment with him today and do a standard payment, it might not clear for 7 days so I might get a late fee.
Yes, you read that correctly! So you already know I had to talk to a supervisor. After hearing my frustration, she apologized for what he said and told me that -- no, I won't get a late fee if I do it today. Boy was I mad because the tactics that they are playing to get you to pay not only more than what is due but tricking you into thinking that the $10 Express Payment is your only way to avoid a $35 late fee. I proceeded to call Credit One Bank and told them I wasn't paying for something I hadn't received. They said "No problem, just disregard the bill until you receive your card." I then get another bill but with a $25 late fee and interest charged. I still had not received my card. I called again and was told that it would be coming. I also told them that I wasn't paying any penalty or late fees for something I still had not received and that I had called about this already. I told them to take those charges off or I would report to BBB.
I finally received the pin and then the card on the 26th of January. I used for 2 gas purchases and get a call yesterday that I was behind in payments. I tried to explain that I spoke to a Justin on 2-6-15 and the charges were to be removed and not to pay until I received a bill around the 26th of February. Every time I tried to explain the problem, the person on the phone kept interrupting me and I finally told him to shut up and let me finish. He told me not to use bad language. I didn't know shut up was bad.
Then after 4 people on the phone and a terrible connection, I supposedly spoke to the manager (they all sounded just like the first person) and if I made a payment right then, they would waiver the late charges and the $9 fee for paying over the phone. I accused them of blackmail and he denied it. All fees waived if I paid then and there. Then I went to use the card at the market last night and it was declined. And the call was from India and the manager was named Mark **. He also said the payment would come out in a day or two. It came out yesterday. I am very displeased with this company. I finally was back on my feet again and I needed to rebuild my credit rating so I was approved with this card along with 2 other credit cards from different banks.
I have now had my account with Credit One Bank for a little over a year and was originally approved for a $700 credit line and I now have a $1000 credit line. Yes they charge for every little thing but this is the crappy deal that those of us get while we build or in my case rebuild our credit, it's just the way it is.. As far as the Customer Service Dept goes I have not had to call them once. Also just about every bank's customer service is outsourced overseas these days..
Here is what I did while having this account and perhaps it is the reason why I have not had any issues with this bank? First I have never waited until the due date to pay my bill. I usually pay my bill 1-2 weeks before the due date. Second I never pay my bill on Credit One Bank's website, I use my personal bank's eBill Pay system. My bank electronically transfers the funds and it post the very next day at Credit One Bank. Third I always pay my bill in full every month. I only use 30% of my available credit every month and pay the balance in full. This is what I have done every month for the almost 15 months that I have had this account and I have never been charged a late fee or have been contacted by them via phone call or email. I hope this was helpful??

I can’t buy anything on eBay - that’s what this was for primarily. Amazon I can’t buy, only their partnered companies allow me to use the card. This is a scam. Took $75 of my $300 limit off the top, like really? Wow, crazy... Hope they contact me.

I received this offer in the mail and applied for the card. Open acceptance I received a card. Before I even spent any money, I got a statement that I owe $80+. I have gotten two statements which I paid in full by the due date. However on each statement it shows an interest charge. When I challenged these charges they claim that you will be charged interest every day from the day the charge was incurred. Do not apply for this card.

I was late on payment because did not receive statement. When I reviewed my bills set up to pay through my bank, I realized Credit One was not paid. Paid last Thurs, payment will post today. Cust serv overseas kept telling me I had to make the payment now on the phone even though I had explained that the payment would post today. So I called the physical location in Las Vegas. 15 min wait time. I called back and ask the receptionist if she could have them call me when they were free. She told me no. Worst customer service I have ever experienced.

Last month and now this month, I received excess calls about my wife's account. By excess, I mean 2 and 3 calls per day from Credit One. I checked online on Friday 18, 2015 - payment was not showing. I called back on Monday 2/23/2015 and it shows it being paid. My wife pays her bills with a debit card and that account shows it being paid on 2/18/2015. Their agent and her supervisor said they made no calls. Something is wrong and it needs to be checked out.
