I have never had the burn/itch problem. My beef is that JFM just doesn't work anymore. I agree that the formula changed, and it even says that on the box. 5-6 minutes used to do the trick (as recently as 1 year ago). But with recent purchases, that amount of time did nothing. Once the product is rinsed out it's like you never did it at all. So I started trying leaving it in longer. 8 minutes, 10 minutes, 15, and now even at 20 minutes it only has a small effect that is gone within a day or 2. One important thing to note is that if you are using it on stubble or very short hair, and then trimming, it will of course go away faster as you trim off the only part that got dyed. That said, I also use it on my eyebrows, with the same recently poor results, and they don't really grow that much are rarely get trimmed.

This product is TERRIBLE!! JFM burns your face so BAD. And makes blisters and scars. The itch makes it worse. This product needs to be banned. Even after reading the instructions the burns still came.

The worst product ever bought. I have purchased 2 shampoo sets for hair, mustache, and chin. They sent damaged and explosive packages in the shipping box, and when communicating with the seller (Amazon), he refused to solve the problem and told me that I had to return to the factory, and when communicating with them, they refused and evaded solving the problem permanently. Unfortunately, they have poor customer service and do not have the lowest standards of respect or professionalism. It is not recommended to buy from them from any online site at all. I have used JFM for over 10 years. About 3 weeks ago after using the beard/mustache dye, my face became uncontrollably itchy. My face and lips have also swollen only where I applied the product. I’m writing this at 2 am because the itching is so severe I can’t sleep. What has changed??? I have welts on my skin where the product was applied. There has to have been a change.

Quality has declined significantly over the past year. I've been using this product since 2021 and I have experienced the chemical burn that others talk about. However my main issue is that this product is no longer long-lasting. I find that it fades in 1-2 days compared to previously, when color would last for weeks.

The price of Just for Men keeps going up so much my wife decided to use her light brown hair color on my hair and beard. It came out so much better and the price is half the cost of Just for Men and lasts longer. The Light Brown in Just for Men came out so dark and the women's hair color comes out true to the color. I am so happy I switched. The price they are now charging for Just for Men is outrageous.

I have been using this product for the last 22 years. The quality of the Product very good but the cap for colour tubes breaks at tip. Once it tube tip breaks the tube is useless. This is not first time happening to me. This is fourth or fifth time happening to me. Regarding Price I used to buy this same product for $5.99. Now the price is $12.99 and I always buy from CVS. If price goes up I understand but the quality should be good, but very sorry to say the quality of packing. If this continues it's bad news for the company.

This is third incident of Color base tube cracking at threaded opening on M-30- Light-Medium Brown. Company recommends you firmly tighten fitting; but opening needs to be reinforced. (Will crack after a few uses.) Have had good results with product, except for some minor itching at Application point. Wanted consumers to be aware of this problem. Have asked for compensation of product at Men's only Company in form of coupon to replace lost product.

Initially, I indented to write this with the belief that JFM Beard color must have changed formulas fairly recently or least tweaked it? But now seeing other reviews, issues, complaints, lawsuits etc going back quite a way...It appears for whatever reason was not aware of this many very serious either "Chemical burn" or Allergic Reaction happening or had happened.

I've used Just For Men products for over 10 years with perfect results; however, something strange happen today. After one use, my Just For Men Touch of Gray (JFM) turned into a clear liquid substance. Yes, the entire tube turned into a clear liquid substance after one use. I bought JFM one week ago from my local drugstore; no problem, thick dark jelly-like which is standard use for JFM. However, today, after one week of sitting in the cabinet, the contents of the entire tube turned into a clear liquid substance. Crazy, I actually poured the entire contents of the tube into my tray; just like water. Very strange!

Like so many others. I used this product for years but something changed during the pandemic with the formula. It’s itchy, breaks me out and BURNS my skin. I’ve tried several times to start it using again after discontinued use but each time it’s the same result and it basically destroys my skin! I refuse to put myself through that torture again.

I use the "Sandy Blonde", and on occasion, the "Darkest Blonde/Lightest Brown" colors. The hair color does not last 8 weeks, as stated by the company. For me, at best, the color lasts 4 weeks. I also notice that the color doesn't "stick" to some of the grey hair, such as the hair on my temple. The company also states that the color will not wash out, but that is not an accurate statement either. Over the weeks, my white towel gets brown from drying my hair with it. The price has increased over the years, but the product hasn't gotten better. If the price was 40% lower, I would consider it a good value, but being that I have to use it twice as often (every 4 weeks instead of every 8 weeks), it's just "OK".

I have been buying Mustache & Beard for years and it worked very well. Since about a year ago this product is junk!!! That figures, along with many other products & services performed, people just do not care about quality work. So the good thing is I don't have to buy it!!!

I’ve used this product for years with really good results. Something though has changed in the formula about 6 months ago. Instead of dying my hair a very credible brown which subtly mixed with my own natural grey it’s sent it a sort of horrible pinky orange colour, the only good thing about which is that it fades quite fast. And it gives me a horribly itchy reaction on my chest. What on earth have you done? How could you be so careless with a great product? All my friends are laughing at me and call me Mr. Hairdye. I’ll never forgive you Control GX!

Only took 4 months to figure out that I was allergic to ** also known as ** which is in the Just For Men ingredients. What a freaking nightmare. I haven't been allergic to anything my whole life and out of nowhere my body was breaking out, itching, and burning. I'll take some responsibility for not doing a great job with the patch testing in advance and waiting long enough. If you are not allergic to **, I thought the product worked fine but I wouldn't wish my allergic reaction on anyone nor the bills and time it took to figure it out. I have been a long time user of this product. It has done a great job coloring my beard and the color is very natural. However the last few months there has been a change. It still colors well, but now it causes burning and itching and the last use caused blisters on my chin! The first time it happened I thought maybe it was a reaction to wearing a mask, but it happens every time now and gets worse each time. I hope that this problem is resolved as I do like the product. Unfortunately, until there is a change, I will have to discontinue use.

Just like so many other people that have written reviews here I also have had a horrible experience with this product. Again, after using this product for many years with great results something has changed. During the pandemic over the last 20 months, I decided not to grow my beard. Now that we are mostly through covid my wife wants me to grow it back. I bought a new box of dark brown and applied it. Next thing you know my face is on fire. Blisters formed, non-stop itching was next, and red inflamed skin for days. This product should be removed from the shelves and someone should start a class action suit against the company.

Spend the extra money and get a better product. First two times I use it my skin was okay. Just itchy but I figured it was normal. This past few times it has burned me, left me irritated with scabs. It's awful. Color comes out great but it's certainly not worth a price you pay with your skin. I will never use it again.

Like so many others, I had used this product for many years, until it started burning my skin about a year ago. Although they deny it, Just For Men had to change their formula in order for the burning to all of a sudden become an issue for so many men. AFTER GOING GRAY FOR ABOUT A YEAR, I RECENTLY FOUND AN ANSWER THAT I WANT TO SHARE. Instead of following the instructions by shampooing one time, I found that by shampooing 4 times after each application, I was able to get all of the excess dye out of my beard/skin. I also now use a conditioner each day on my beard when showering. This has completely solved my itching/irritation problem. Hopefully this will help others as well.

Just like the others have mentioned, I used this product for years with no issues. (Just For Men Beard Dye BLACK) Recently I bought the product to apply and it was a nightmare. Itching and burning sensation… I immediately jumped in the shower to wash off to no avail. Along the day I started developing open sores with clear oozing liquid. Itching and flaky all day. It got worse at night. I had to take a sleeping pill in order for me to sleep. I can see through my beard that my skin is bright red. I tried to apply medication and it helped for a while. (Aloe Vera).

Used this product for years with no issues and then recently decided to use it again. Wellll that was a mistake. My entire face broke out into bleeding sores and the itching was unbearable. This is a disgusting product that should be pulled from shelves. I hope this company gets sued. DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT IF YOU LIKE YOUR FACE!!

I have been using this product for 7-8 years with no problems until recently! Serious adverse reaction to chemicals in the mix and had severe itching which turned into burning and peeling of my skin. It has been over 2 weeks and have not fully healed. I will never use this again! Test a spot before using on your beard or mustache!

Danger. After doing the 48hr test and on my 3rd beard application my face got extremely itchy, then started to swell with puss. I should of went to the hospital. This product needs to be pulled from the shelf.

Despite having done everything according to the instructions I.e the patch test, duration of how long to leave it on for before washing it off etc etc, yes it did dye the grey beard hairs but in doing so my face also died in a convulsion of blisters and weeping sores along with severe unbearable itching, long sleepless nights and stress related thoughts I eventually ended up in Accident and emergency with all the symptoms of Anaphylactic shock...I now have to carry an auto injector wherever I go, take steroid medication 4 times a day and be confronted with the facial scarring to my face and neck every time I look in the mirror after using this diabolical product.

I've been using this product for years. It worked great. Over the past year, (2020, the train wreck year from hell) however it has been burning my face. Especially my upper lip area. When you first apply it, it seems okay. Then within the next 4 to 6 hours it starts to itch then the next day it's a complete ripped up burnt to shreds mess. I was using the green Medium Brown, so I thought maybe I just got a bad batch, so I switched to light blue, Light to Medium Brown color, but the same thing happened; even worse. I cannot believe that this company would put out a product so horrible. I never write reviews like this. Ever! Stay away from this product. I'm going to try and find an alternative. But I will never buy this crap again.

First time I used it, it looked good and did not seem to have too many bad effects, just slightly itchy, I soon developed a runny nose, chapped lips, thinking I had a summer cold. Next time I used it, the beard area was terribly itchy and nose running constantly and could not stop itching... and my lips started to peel. This stuff is toxic like many have said, very bad, stay away from it. This actually should not be sold at all, very toxic.

This product is not worth the money. It does not apply pigmentation. Do not waste your time or money on Just For Men. Product does not have a good quality dye. It’s best to buy Wella hair dye at Sally Beauty.

I’ve used this product for at least five years with satisfactory results and no side effects. However in the past few applications the product has suddenly caused extreme itching, localized redness and a mild blotchy allergic reaction spreading across my entire face. Also, the product is much less effective; only covering gray for about three days before washing away completely. The manufacturer (Combe) better take action very quickly or they’re going to lose their market dominance for men’s grooming.
