I have been a Boost customer for years. Last year I decided to go ahead and purchase a newer phone with my upgrade. $600. About a week after I paid it off, I no longer could get the data service I pay monthly for. I've called and asked for help, I've gone to the boost store, I've reset my phone, and still no answers. This is now affecting my job as I use my phone in the road for work. I'm very disappointed and will be switching providers.

My phone can't send picture or MMS messages. Battery goes dead twice a day now. A lot if different things happen. They don't have anything linked to my account. I even bought this phone. I bought it at a Boost store in Brick NJ. Because I can't find my receipt no help. Second phone I have bought from them in a year at almost 7 hundred dollars. I'm done with them and their internet that keeps running out. Junk phones, I have a whole draw of old phones that broke.

I found the Company Community Board where I posted my problem I had with Boost Mobile. An Agent contacted me and after checking with Boost advised me that they reopened my case. I checked my bank account today and Boost made the honorable decision and credited my account for the full amount that they erroneously took out. Thank you.

My husband's been with BoostMobile for 5 years and I have been with them for 2. We were very happy with Boost. We always bought our new phones on Boostmobile.com and never really had a problem. I had my account auto-drafted out on the 3rd of each month and his on the 9th. On 9/3/2020, we decided to add a friend and we went in on a Family Plan. I told the agent, who BTW didn't seem to have it all together, since I was beginning a Family Plan on the 3rd of the month to make sure my husband's account was not charged $35 on the 9th. She's like, “Yeah, ok, no problem” (heavy accent.) On 9/8, I get a text message from my bank that $35 was taken out by Boost. I immediately call Boost Customer Service, explain what happened (mistakes happen) and they assured me my bank would be refunded the money in 7-10 days.
By 9/18, still no refund. I call Boost, the agent apologizes, promises me money will be in my bank account by Monday, 9/21. You guessed it, nope, still nothing. I'm getting a little irritated but I'm still a fan of Boost. My father-in-Law is looking for a new provider and I suggested for him to come on board with Boost. On 9/25, I call Boost, add him, ask about the refund, told it is processing. I'm not going to go into what was said. I was polite but firm. They asked me to give it 7-10 more days. What am I to do? I'm determined now.
Meanwhile, the friend who is on my plan with me breaks her phone. By 10/4, I still have no refund, I call Boost and with my recommendation, we order a new phone for her, I ask about the refund, the agent is very rude, she can't find the complaint, transfers me to a recording who asks for my Visa card number. I hang up and call right back, fuming, I get the nicest and personable agent on earth. She is totally on point, gets to the bottom of everything. I find out my refund complaint had been canceled since 9/12, supposedly due to my husband using his cell for 15 minutes over his limit (which is totally untrue because we canceled his phone 6 days early so there would be no way he could have been over). She apologetically suggested I contact my bank and put a dispute in on the charge.
I find this totally unfair that the bank has to deal with this. It is not the bank's fault. I did as she said and my bank was upset, to say the least. They will do this, but they will have to cancel the credit card on file at Boost, reissue me a new debit/credit card, and I will have to wait the customary 5-7 days to receive it. Furthermore, if I want to have auto-pay again, I have to call Boost back and put my card on file with them again, that is if I want to even stay. I can't understand how they can treat their customers this way. I told my bank to hold off until I talk to a supervisor.
On 9/12, I talked to a Supervisor and what an ASS he was. Totally unprofessional. Kept stating the customary company line, “I'm sorry, you have a valid point but be there as it may be there is nothing I can do, yada, yada, yada, etc...” I would raise another point, and he would just keep repeating that same line in the same bored tone. Juan was his name. Wouldn't even give me the courtesy of the beginning initial of his last name. Coward! I just lost it and said, "Cancel my service now!" My husband starts yelling in the background, “No, we have others depending on us.“ (My friend has Stage IV oral cancer and needs her phone for doctors.) I'm sure ole Juan got a kick out of that. So, anywho, that's my story.
I bring two people into the Boost Family and recommended a phone from their website. I will always go to the local store in the future if we stay with Boost. I called them, and they were horrified how I was treated and even tried to help me by calling Customer Support to no avail. They advised me to never keep my credit card on file with Boost because things like this can happen so easily. The original agent is at fault here but Boost could easily have worked with me. I'm not unreasonable. Where is Customer Loyalty!

I have had Boost mobile on and off for a few years. I purchased a phone from them online. The phone had a known issue where it would not attach to wifi. I received an RMA number and returned the phone through USPS within the timeline for a refund. This was in August. I have spent countless hours on the phone, chatted online with agents and sent inquiries through their online message board, been told a number of times that my issue has been "escalated to a supervisor" and still no refund.
This is not an isolated issue. Somebody somewhere is dropping the ball over and over again. I believe the problem is that no one department is really responsible for making sure that returns get credited back to the buyers. When you call the 800 number someone from India reads a script. If you do not tell them you have a tracking number, they will act like they have not gotten the item back and tell you 7-14 business days. When you tell them the tracking number they check it and say they are emailing to their supervisor - a euphemism "for get off my line. I have other people to lie to". No one will help me. I do not have $70 to give to SPRINT/BOOST/T-MOBILE, they have enough without my help. I am too upset to cancel because then I KNOW I will no longer be their problem and will not do any better. I feel helpless and used.

I don't like writing bad reviews but I do believe you give credit where credit is due and although the CS agent was polite she was unable to help me, which shows they don't value their people. I miss VM. Virgin Mobile showed they cared about their customers bc they actually took care of you, they were awesome and I would have thought Boost (since buying them out) would have followed their same etiquette, not so much. VM was very accommodating, helpful, they found away to make things better. Boost absolutely does not follow suit or even put forth the effort to try and help you. With Boost it's like cut and dry, a yes or a no....not well let me see what I can do, let me check, well we can do this...nothing!! Very disappointing. I write this in order to help others and in hopes higher authorities of Boost get their eye on this and change company policies for the better of their customers. As of now I will be switching phone carriers.

I've been a Boost customer for years. I've used the same plan for months when finances caused me to drop down to the lowest plan without any trouble at all. The first 10 gigs are at normal speeds. Everything thereafter is throttled, but always has been still usable. This month, 10 days before my plan was due I got a message saying that my data has run out and my data bar now has a little x in the corner. I call boost about it yesterday and the guy apologized for it and says that it is corporate and they are working on it because A LOT of their customers are complaining about it. He says he's fixed it and we hang up.
I worked 11pm to 6am last night and searched several websites during my shift. No streaming or videos to speak of as I was using my laptop on my work wifi for streaming. I had to go to work again at 6pm today so most of my day, I slept. I spent a few hours chatting and posting on Facebook then tonight I watched a few short (less than 5 minutes on most of them) videos on Youtube. Suddenly I get another notice. My data has run out and again with the little x on my signal bar.
I call again and get an obvious ESL person overseas somewhere who is rude and short with me telling me that my UNLIMITED plan is NOT unlimited and she can't find it. It says nothing anywhere on the site about the data being shut off at a given point. It never has been in the whole couple of years I have used them. Throttled, yes, limited? Never. I just spent $130 on a brand new phone not even a MONTH ago. This is false advertising and scamming at its worst. Do NOT call it UNLIMITED if it is LIMITED. Now I am out $130 dollars because they will never see another penny out of my hard earned paycheck.

Boost has horrible cellular service. Customer service is poor. Tech support is incompetent. Recommend picking another provider. 0 stars. It took them TWO months for Boost to figure out how to fix a problem with receiving calls. They take your money without providing you proper service and do not care about the consumer.

I'd been happy with Boost mobile for nearly 10 years, as of 2020 there have been significant changes to the business and it is impossible for me to recommend others to their service. Only after buying a new device did I find my monthly network charges would be increased... Reasonable if they told me in advance. After a month of my service not working despite repeated talks with AWFUL communication from various technical departments, with NO decent apology or acknowledgement of their errors.. Switch FROM Boost and never return.

I have had Boost Mobile for years. My daughter recently broke her phone and had to buy a new one. She bought a Motorola Fast - when I went to Swap the phone onto our Family Plan it wouldn't work. I called Boost Mobile and they informed me that her phone wasn't compatible with my plan and I needed to switch plans. I think tried a phone that I had previously used on my plan (2 months ago) and the same thing. If you have one of their Legacy Family plans, they are forcing the switch if you need to swap phones. This is unfair and upsetting - the new plans are much more expensive than the plan I currently have. I am researching what carrier I am going to switch to.

I've been a Boost mobile customer for around 8 years and have seen their customer service deteriorate drastically over time. It's to the point now, I can't connect with anyone who speaks English proficiently and takes a tremendous amount of time to overcome language barriers. In one of my calls this year, the customer service representative and I had to pause often until roosters crowing in her background allowed us to hear each other.
After hours of attempting to overcome language barriers to change my account, the wrong account was set up and the only reason I resisted correcting it was because of the time it would have taken to correct it through speaking to customer service. After eventually getting around to end the account, I was told that I am not allowed to end my account and they will continue charging me. Most recently, I was told from two customer service representatives that they will not let me end my child's cell phone account or automatic payments that I pay for and that I must report them to my financial institution as the only hope of ending my accounts with them.

3+ year customer and going through a new company this week. I supposedly have unlimited high speed for 50 a month. Maybe twice they slowed me during peak hours in those 3 years till last month. July 28th paid for new month. August 10th was sent a message saying I used all high speed till my month was up. Slowed so slow that I gave up trying to use it and just left it loading a webpage to see if it would even load while charging. 4 hours later, still loading. Called to complain and was told kids need online schooling so my plan was changed to cap high speed at 3.5 gigs and I still had internet just not high speed. After arguing for 20 minutes that loading 1 page for 4 hours isn't internet and getting a supervisor, she reset my plan because I've been with them years... 10 days later, slowed again....
Repaid on sept 11th and went up north michigan where there was no service the 12th. Came back night of 13th due to rain and for a full day was only getting 3g the entire time. Still only 3g now. Called earlier today (the 14th) to make sure they aren't charging me high speed usage and was told I've used 2 gigs of 4 g and 2/4 of a gig 3g and that 3g is considered high speed. So in 3 days while up north a day and a half with no internet at all, I've somehow used 3/4 of my 30 day unlimited internet. And though their system says 2 gigs 4g. The only 4g I got was PART of 3 hours of google maps gps. I literally flipped out on the supervisor who told me their IT people claim I used that much. Is it even possible to use 2.75 gigs of data in 1 1/2 to 2 days? Cause I had no service while up north and why am I getting 3g service and being charged high speed on a 4g lte phone? Horrible company.

I called Boost for the corporate contact information to send a complaint and although it took me 55 mins to get it (they have no phone contact they could give but I got an email), and the customer service rep wanted to “help” but ended up saying he couldn’t do anything and his supervisor did the same. I had to reiterate I understood that, I just needed the corporate contact info. I finally did get the email, and sent an email.

So I have had a family plan for almost 2 years, with 5 lines. I’ve had some here and there issues but for the most part I’m not easy to rouse do nothing I thought complaint worthy. Other than the plan randomly switching without my permission, (I just had to call them and have them switch it back) I haven’t had many issues. Recently my husband and I got iPhones and switched them. He works in construction and his broke. Somehow the insurance I have had the entire time I’ve had these phones was gone, but I wasn’t even tripping about it because I know I didn’t notice it earlier and would be out of luck a anyway.
We switched his number back to an old android. Well he was sending texts fine but wasn’t getting text messages from everyone, only some people. So he called tech support. Went in circles changing network settings, factory resetting, and several hours and several reps later he was told he needed to buy a new phone. Ok. Buy the new phone, still having the same problem. Called them back. Same procedures, several reps later going in circles. We said, "Hey, we’ve done this, it isn’t working, but we are going from Apple to Android. Maybe that’s the issue?" They want us to factory reset the brand. new. phone....again.... Ok then they want us to call back bc the girl didn’t want to wait the 5 mins for the phone to reset.... Are you kidding.... We didn’t want to explain this again to the 5th or 6th person after the hour we’d been on the phone but after protesting agreed to a supervisor call back that day (Wednesday) still unresolved and no call by Sunday.
I called back about a billing issue (My family plan got switched without my approval and without notifying me, like I mentioned happens often). Spoke to Shiam (probably spelled wrong, sorry friend). He was amazing, fixed that then proceeded to help me with the texting issue, but I wasn’t with my husband or his phone, so he offers to call me back, ave actually did the same day, within the hour like he said, amazing....a “lowly” customer service rep, also looked and listened to me when I told him about the iPhone to android I realized it was only iPhones that couldn’t receive my husbands texts at this point and after a few mins Shiam mentions I probably need to deregister iMessages....Wow ace that was the problem.
Bought a new $130 phone for nothing, no sup callback, and hours on the phone with no resolution, not to mention 2 wks of limited service. 2 yrs deep loyal customer with 5 lines, thousands of dollars invested and what am I worth? A $10 credit to my account. Spent $130 on the phone I didn’t need, but they will give me $10. I’m sooo taking my loyal service elsewhere. Sad. Except for Shiam.... He’s great. He should train the tech Dep’t and the supervisors.

I have had Boost Mobile prepaid service for several years. In June of 2020 my phone went out of service. I tried to get into my account and couldn't, (because I was being hacked). I went to a Boost Mobile store to report this problem, the clerk called Boost Corporate and two days later my service came back. Too bad the hackers had drained my bank account of $485.00!! I disputed the charges. Hundreds of calls were made to Central America while my phone was out of service! That started my many calls and chats with Boost Customer-No-Service!
In July phone went out of service again. Put on hold, transferred, hung up on, accused of not paying my bill, told I must have given my PIN to a family member. Over and over and over again. Told the only way to get my service back is to pay the $485.00 that I disputed. I have filed a report with local police and IdentityTheft.gov. One rep finally called back and admitted it was a hacking. Told me to email my information to legal inquiries at Sprint(?). That was July 10, 2020. Have never heard back from them!!
Sept 10, 2020 I started the phone calls again. Agents tell me over and over Boost has no Fraud Team! They only require a 4 digit numerical password, yet they refuse to believe you can be hacked. To date I have made complaints with the FCC and the Better Business Bureau. I don't know if I will ever get my money back. I had to switch service and buy a new phone, and now that is being used against me ("Your account is suspended!"). DON'T USE THIS COMPANY!

I would just go to a different company, however, I have paid my account up in advance thinking the issue would be fixed as they promised.
I have had issues with the hotspot where it will kick anything that is connected off and states no internet connection. I have also had issues where I do not get my LTE/4G and when it tries to connect it then disconnects all services for about 30sec to then go to 3G. The internet doesn't load with the images most of the time. Games do not load. Facebook will pull up but does not update correctly. Apps download slowly if they even download. I had Virgin Mobile service for years with no issues, but in March, they dissolved and my misfortunes with Boost Mobile began. I had the same phone, yet with Boost, I could not make a successful call (my comrades would hear Hello followed by a blank void of nothingness). I called customer service. They said that they had coded my plan as a Virgin Mobile Inner Circle plan by accident. They told me that the plan would likely work with my next billing cycle. It did not, of course. I downloaded a Google Voice number and used that from June-July.
In August my frustration reached a breaking point; I cancelled my plan and decided to switch services. Despite the fact that I bought my phone at Virgin Mobile, the customer service agents and supervisor will not unlock my phone until October because of the year contract stipulation. I purchased a phone online from BoostMobile mainly because of the low-priced plans advertised on their website. The website advertised _several_ plans ranging from $15 to $60 with various levels of data service on their "Expanded Network". I was careful to select a phone - an LG Tribute Royal - listed as compatible with that network. The trick with Boost Mobile (unlike AT&T, T-Mobile, or Verizon) is that online, you do not buy the plan and the phone at the same time. You cannot buy the plan until after you receive the phone and then try to activate it. When I received my new phone and tried to activate it, I was offered only 3 plans: $35, $50, and $60. The $35 plan is unacceptable because it includes only 3GB of data. The other two plans are not compelling values.
Boost Mobile Customer Service appears to be fully automated - which makes it essentially useless. The only humans answering phones are doing so only to take orders for new phone sales. At T-Mobile and AT&T, you can eventually reach a human customer service representative if you try hard enough. At Boost Mobile, no matter how hard you try, you are stuck with an inflexible spoken menu system.

I'd been a customer of Virgin Mobile since the early 2000's. Virgin recently switched my service over to Boost. If I'd had known how bad Boost's customer service was I would have used up my phone time beforehand. I had a bit over $300.00 worth of time left from Virgin and I last topped up on 5-20-20. The next top up date was to be 90 days from then or 8-20-20.
I received an email from Boost this morning saying my account balance was $0.00 and that I needed to top up. WTH?? Turned out that they zeroed out my account balance at 1:52am this morning (8-19-20). I had bought a card and put $10.00 on my account this morning. Then I tried getting ahold of Customer Service (what a joke that was...You wait forever to get a real person & they can't speak decent English). First rep tells me that because I was over my 90 day top up limit they zeroed out my account. I was like "Um...what?!" Get off the phone with him after not being given any options to figure this out.
Call another rep who hung up on me. Called again...get another rep who can't speak decent English, but at least she tells me that yeah I was correct that I had another day before they should have zeroed out my balance. Only that it'll take "3-5 business days" to give me back my $300+ balance. At this point, I'll believe if/when I see it, but I'm not getting my hopes up. If I just got taken for $300, I'll be using up the money I just put on it and then get rid of the phone & their crappy service. If I were a new cell customer looking into signing with Boost, all I can say is DON'T DO IT. You'll regret it!

NONE of them could get me to a supervisor. I could hear them in the background, but they would not come on the phone. Sent me a bad SIM card (at least that's what they think is wrong) and told me I could go to the local store and buy another. SERIOUSLY!!
They wanted me to go buy another one. Didn't offer to call the store and arrange for me to pick one up. Didn't offer to overnight me one since I switched services and I'm now without a phone. Nope. If you want a free one, you will have to wait 3-5 business days. I strongly recommend staying as far away as possible. This company is not one you want to do business with. Cannot get refund either. I reach out to Boost support again, only to be told that a cell tower was down in my area this time and give them another 48-72 hours to resolve the issue. 72 comes and goes and nothing.
Long and short of it...Boost was not being honest with its customers about the outage. They had been bought out by DISH and was pushing all existing customers to purchase new plans and new phones. This is unacceptable and unprofessional. The company has a severe lack of communication and respect for its customers. I reached out to several avenues for support and to find out the real issue, yet nobody would give me an honest answer. It was so slow to the point where I stopped using my phone completely. Later, I found out they had changed their policy after merging with Dish. What’s worse, they never alerted consumers about it, which they should, especially in times like these, when everyone is stuck at home. I have the 4 line family plan, which is advertised as “Unlimited 4G LTE”. Well, that’s definitely not what you’re getting. After you reach 35MB, they switch you to 2G speeds. They blamed it on work they were doing to the towers in the area but said, "We will reimburse you for the times you or the 3 other lines wasn't able to use your phone properly." No surprise that never happened..Mind you I'm a nurse so it's been extremely important for me to have a working phone with everything going on.. Also all 4 lines have unlimited data, text, calling & 30gb of hotspot. The hotspot also works when in wants .. So I've been paying for UNLIMITED and now after months of no caps guess what? Caps. Naturally, I disputed my credit card and as a result I had to wait 2 weeks for my new card to arrive from my bank. I get another charge exactly one month later for over $1000 and notice it immediately. I decided to call Boost about it this time. After 45 minutes on the phone, I spoke with several people who said the order was to an address not even close to where I live, and it was early enough that they will cancel the order so the other person didn’t receive a free phone essentially. I was told because they can cancel the order still I will get a refund within 3 business days.
One full week goes by and I have not been refunded. I spent over an hour on the phone repeating myself to a guy who didn’t understand my concerns. He tells me that the order was delivered to the person who used my account and card number, and that I should call my bank to file a dispute. He puts me on hold, comes back, and tells me all he can do now is call my bank for me to file a dispute and that he would send feedback to the people I spoke with the week before who said my order was to be cancelled and I would be refunded and that clearly didn’t happen.
The guy puts me on hold and connects me to American Express which is clearly not the company I have my credit card account with and he has disappeared from the line. I had to file another dispute myself on my credit card because they cannot do their job correctly the first time and now I have to wait another 1-2 weeks for my new card to be sent. I am on the verge of switching companies if anything negative happens again with this company. I am very upset.

Then they said 95 percent of customers don't use the data plan but they deprioritize to maintain high speeds. If 95 percent don't use the data plan then why are you putting us on 2G when we use 35GB?! THEN charging for more data.
I'm literally waiting 5 mins for a page to load. This is what they consider delivering service? Who has 5 minutes to waste or 30 minutes to download an app? This is disgracefully punitive. My phone was unusable on the internet which I depend on until they "courteously" gave me a GB. Meantime, Sprint has a cap of 50GB, T Mobile 50GB, AT&T 100GB and I would tell you Verizon's but the damn page won't load. Now the service has started throttling the customers who have paid a higher amount for the promised "Unlimited 4G LTE data" and have put them at 2G speeds unless they restart their monthly plans or buy additional data packs. I had pay as you go and needed to add money. The access through my phone didn't work, I couldn't find a customer service email, the webpage didn't work, I was repeatedly bounced off the calling tree. I finally connected with customer service after 2.5 days. I asked to put in money (and would have been charged $3 for the privilege) but didn't get that far. I was told all the money in my account was taken out, no grace period allowed, my number had been deactivated and my plan had been taken away. I was told it was a Virgin Mobile plan and I could get a new Boost plan for 5x the price of my original plan. Are they nuts? Here is the language off of the Virgin Mobile page: "If you do not make your monthly payment, your service will be interrupted. You will have 120 days after your service is interrupted to add enough funds to your account and prevent account cancellation." From all I have been reading the account funds ripoff is being done on a massive scale. It is probably in the area of grand theft and should be investigated. I was told I would receive a mailing label on Friday to return the phone, but it did not arrive. I called again on Monday letting them know I had not received it as promised and was told that since it was past the seven day guarantee, they would no longer accept a return. I tried to explain that when I received authorization to return it, it was within the seven days and I was told to wait to receive the label, but they did not care.
I kept getting transferred from person to person (none of which spoke English very well making the process very difficult) and after repeating this information over and over, I asked to speak to someone in charge. I was told that the representative I originally spoke to was not supposed to send a label and that I needed to send it myself, I said I was fine with that and would mail it back that day, but I was told they would no longer accept it because it was past the seven days. I explained AGAIN how I was within the seven days when I called and the mistake was on their part therefore my return authorization should be honored. The customer service representative agreed that it was their mistake, but still refused to accept a return.
Over the course of about a week I spent hours on the phone talking to many people and all for nothing. They never had any intention or desire to help me. My belief is that the first representative deliberately gave me false information in order to allow the company to get out of refunding my purchase, knowing by the time I followed up it would be past the return window. It is very disappointing that a company refuses to stand by their policy and their word and looks for technicalities, leaving the consumer to suffer the consequences of their own mistakes or incompetence. I have been a Boost Prepaid customer for many years but since Covid-19 they have disappointed me greatly and I intend to look for a different provider now, although I can honestly say I have found their prices very competitive and good value for money, I am frustrated at their very poor customer service. To cut a long story short, I have tried to activate 2 sim cards during the pandemic for family members, and both times the activations have taken far too long to come through (the most recent one has still not come through over 20 days after I received the initial confirmation email). Both times I have tried to seek help for the situation online and by phone but experienced unreasonable delays in getting through to an operator. In chasing up the first sim card I tried to activate, I also experienced extremely poor customer service from an operator who denied what had happened despite me having written proof of these details of my activation request.
To provide detail I tried to arrange 1 phone for my grandmother during the pandemic as I couldn't see her. I completed the activation process on 30 March. This process gave me the option to add an initial recharge amount, which I did. When a number of days had passed without it going through, I tried to get help through the chat function and by calling Boost, to no avail. Only after 1 week when I called later in the day from 2 phones at once was I able to get onto someone who told me the activation was never lodged (although I have an email confirming it was "underway"). The person I spoke to also said I could not possibly have recharged the sim that is not active - despite this being clearly stated in the email and the $20 being taken from my Paypal. She in fact denied that it was even an option in the activation process even though I know this is how I did the recharge. Ultimately she activated the sim while I was on the phone and said it would take 4 hours.
I insisted she call me back the following night to confirm it had gone through, which she did not do. I had to call back the following night and waited for an inordinate time again before finally getting through and being advised that the 4 hour timeframe was no longer because of Covid-19. Ultimately it was activated on 9 April. I had asked both operators I actually spoke to that they have complaints call me back, which never happened.

After being on the family plan for about a month, our phone service stopped the day after my credit card was charged the next months $100 fee. I called up and the agent re-established our phone service but charged my credit card another $100 monthly fee. Upon realizing the error she instructed me that I had to contact my credit card company to get it reversed, which I did.
After another month went by, one of our four phones had service disconnected. I again had to call to see what the problem was. The agent explained the service was disconnected because I had cancelled one charge. I explained I did so because their agent advised me to do so a month prior due to the previous issue encountered. Regardless, I was advised that I would have to pay and additional $67.00 to get the one phone reconnected. After speaking with 3 different agents over the next 3 days and requesting a supervisor call me on each of the last two days which never happened, I finally called back yesterday to pay the $67.00 extorted from me just to get phone service restored to the one phone. It always was bad, but right now they just made me sooooooooo mad, I want scream. I wanted to upgrade my phone, and I thought I did- online- after two days I was checking the tracking number and it turns out the order was cancelled, why? No explanation whatsoever.
I called, believe me it took almost an hour for me to speak to someone. They were transferring me from person to person, then after like 30 min. Of conversation, it turns out it was cancelled because of the address mix up. Supposedly they've corrected everything, I did the order again, waited 2 days, checked the tracking - guess what- same situation!!! Again calling customer service to have an explanation, transferring from person to person- was hanged up on- called again, etc. And on the end they've told me to go to the store, which is closed because of covid-19. Really????? Fix your customer service people!!!!

Was moved to Boost Mobile by Virgin mobile after a merger. Bought a new iPhone and they sold me a bad Sim card and kept blaming it on the iPhone. The iPhone people looked the phone over and said it wasn’t the phone that it was a bad Sim card but Boost mobile refused to give me a new Sim card, they kept sending me back to iCare saying it was the phone. So I switched from Boost Mobile to T-Mobile and as soon as I did that the phone was working just fine, before I couldn’t get any calls in but after switching I could. They charged me $40 for a bad Sim card which they wouldn’t replace plus I paid $50 in advance that they wouldn’t refund when I ported it over. The service was bad too, couldn’t download. Anything like videos was too slow. I definitely do not recommend them. They’re horrible and they steal your money.

After getting my 1st upgrade with Boost as we just switched from Metro a few months ago, we have 4 lines and pay early every month. Anyways I usually don't pay for cell phone insurance because you can usually replace the phone for a similar price, but this time I did because it's a 300.00 phone. Anyways I had it barely a week and all of a sudden it wouldn't light up or do anything.
After going to boost I was told to contact the insurance company.... It takes 30 minutes to get anyone on the phone. Then they tell me I need some kind of serial number from boost.... Called boost.... then Call them back.... At least 4 more back and forths like this only to be told that it will be like 40 days before I would be eligible for a new phone. The insane part that lets you know it's a scam is that none of the 6 or 7 people I spoke to ever mentioned that.... Once they ran out of hoops for me to jump through they came up with that....so. The insurance is garbage that does you no good no matter what. But what kills me is you would think boost would offer to help me with my phone to retain a good customer, actually whole family of customers. Ya'll gotta do better, a lot of people including myself are out of work due to this virus and now I have no phone... Not fair.

The clerk said no problem and I should get a refund of the $38 dollars I paid for in advance. I took my old phone to Cricket and it was compatible so I bought their service the same day. In the meantime 21days later I still do not have my refund. I call customer service and two times and get two different answers. First answer is not entitled to refund because I changed companies and ported out. The second one says to file complaint with my bank. So, I am going to backdate this review a little bit. About 16 days ago I bought a Boost Mobile LG Stylo 5 from Walmart for $199.99 plus tax and plan. The only reason that I was changing carriers was because I ended up with some issues with my MIL and she took my Iphone Pro Max that I was currently paying for and everything else, pretty much screwing me on my job and communication to everyone and everything that I know. So here I am at Walmart getting this LG Stylo 5 thinking that I'm getting a pretty decent phone and not having to go through a whole bunch of crap to get it besides having to come out of pocket that much money.
So for the first couple of days it wasn't a bad phone, but I'd say about 4 days after having it, the apps started crashing, the camera was taking pictures by itself, the biometrics weren't working properly, and I haven't been getting about 85% of my calls and texts (which are very important in our technology driven world). For about 11 days I've dealt with this nonsense of this phone, and I'm just finally to the point where I want to contact Boost Mobile because they need to help me out since like I can't stress enough I've only had the phone for a little over 2 weeks.
My first contact with them was through the Chatbot on the Boost Mobile app. What a hunk of junk that thing is. I couldn't get through to anyone in chat because of this Covid 19 pandemic going on, so I figure I can get through to someone over the phone, but of course with the pandemic the Call Centers are closed and now I have no way to communicate with my phone carrier. So I get to thinking that "Oh I should just see if a Boost Mobile store happens to be open and I can just swing by there" so I found the Boost Mobile on W Brandon Blvd in Brandon FL. I arrive and I go into the store to see if the representative would be willing to help me out since, Oh I don't know I am a customer of Boost Mobile regardless of where my phone was purchased.
As I'm waiting in line I can just feel the animosity coming from this guy who was checking out the customers ahead of me. Well he finishes with them and I get up there and the guy looks at me and says "What do you need?" Umm excuse me? (It was like he seriously didn't like me or even want to talk to me at all or figure out if I had an issue or what.)
So with an attitude like that I bring it right back to him and I flat out said "This phone is a piece of **" and explained everything that was going on with it, and I said I've barely had the phone over 2 weeks, and I told him I bought it at Walmart and he was like you're going to have to go back to Walmart to get the issues taken care of, and I told him I had already contacted Walmart and that they told me that since the device had already been opened and activated there was nothing that they could do for me, so advised me that I needed to contact Boost Mobile (which hello that's the whole reason I was in a store during this pandemic) and the guy seriously looked at me and said "What do you want me to do about it?" with this sour attitude.
I've never felt more disrespected at that moment than that day and I said I need a different phone but I'm not paying for it since I didn't do anything to this one. And he said that wouldn't be possible and pretty much told me to have nice day and that was it. Oh and one other thing he had also popped into my account and was like, "Oh you can add insurance and pay for it and then file a claim and get another Stylo 5."
I said nope, no sorry. I'm not paying more for something that shouldn't have taken a crap in less than 15 days since I didn't do any damage to it (also to include, I did multiple factory resets both hard and soft, uninstalled apps, reinstalled one at a time, stopped using a lot of things that I used to use to see if that would help and it didn't and still isn't) just a reminder that the whole reason I bought this phone was because I needed it for my job since I was working from home and it was just about the only phone that had the capabilities that I needed from it. Or so I thought.
So at this point I'm super pissed and all he has to say is, "Contact LG and see what they can do for you," and I turn around and walk out of that store. Never again will I ever step foot into that Boost Mobile EVER AGAIN. And now since I have been extremely unlucky with getting in contact with Boost Mobile customer service, I will be switching carriers AGAIN and will be recommending that people do not keep this company or store in business. It's not worth the hassle. I have WAY MORE IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO.
Now this is going to be the ending of my rant and recommendation and review. Simply put, if you want crap service, worthless equipment, and horrible customer service attitudes from store employees then Boost Mobile is the way to go for you, however if you want good service, good equipment, and good customer service I'd advise you to definitely shop around before purchasing one of the biggest pieces of your life you will carry with you forever. Honestly if I could rate Boost Mobile with negative stars I would but at this point I can't and 1 star is going to have to suffice.
Thank you to all who have taken the time to read my review, I appreciate you and I really hope you do some shopping around unlike what I did. I learned my lesson and it cost me a nice chunk of change but hey money is money, however people's attitudes and simple customer service will always be the backbone of a company, not something that Boost Mobile knows how to serve.

Twice I contacted customer service about the same issue not receiving calls from a specific number; they were friendly and easy enough to reach but unfortunately the troubleshooting and updates they offered did not resolve my problem. Reliable cell service is important to me as a customer, and the primary reason I’m switching.
Two other possible issues include that a while back I read a review stating that employees aren’t paid well and that advertising may be deceptive. This lines up with what I experienced, walking into Boost to find a bored but helpful employee who pointed out that the price I saw advertised won’t go into effect until I’ve been a customer for 3 months. I didn’t remember seeing that on the ad. I’m not gonna bother looking into this further since I already know I’m dissatisfied with the service.

After nearly 10 years with Boost Mobile it looks like I will be looking for a new provider. The customer service has become an absolute joke and today was just the final straw. Today I received a new phone and during activation it notifies me that an error had occurred, attempted Boost's online chat to no avail due to their chat being offline, followed by calling the customer service number listed on their site which is disconnected. I had to call SPRINT in order to get a Boost Customer Service phone number!
First phone call I was on hold for nearly an hour before someone answered and when he put me on hold to try and find a resolution, the call dropped. Call back, this time was on hold for over an hour before speaking to someone. After telling her the situation she asked for me to hold for just a minute or two while she made sure my needed part was overnighted to me. Jump ahead 45 minutes and I AM STILL ON HOLD!!! I hang up and call for yet a third time and this time was on hold for about 40 minutes, told this lady the situation to which she replied "give me just a moment to review your account." After just 5 minutes an automated voice breaks the silence and states the office is currently closed and to call back during business hours.
After over five hours and making three phone calls to customer service, I am now farther away from fixing my issue than I was before I called Customer Service. Since that abrupt end to my third call, I have been asking myself why I continue to remain a Boost customer and have yet to come up with any compelling reasons. There are plenty of providers out there that would love my business so why should I remain with a company that is becoming more and more apparent in caring very little for their customers?

Before the new device arrived, my internet service started working again - i.e. the old device still works. I waited several days to return the new device, just to make sure the old device still worked. When I opened the packing label on the box that the new device came in, I saw that there is a 7 day return policy. I was 1 day late. Called Boost to see what they could do. After 3 hours on phone with 5 different people (2 were "supervisors" - see below), including 1 call they dropped after 50 minutes, they refused to waive the 7 day policy - told me I should "sell it to someone" myself.
I asked to speak to a supervisor. I was told that the supervisor, "Richard", was in a meeting, and to call back "in a couple of hours" and ask for him. When I did so, got another person (not Richard). One of 2 such "supervisors" I talked to today. Hello, I have had Boost for about 15 years. I had AT&T before that and it was a very bad experience, but, it was the only carrier that had that area, now that's not that case. I have found that Boosts covers almost anywhere in the United States. I've been in North and South Carolina (various areas) the Shenandoah area (Virginia) and Florida. Great Service everywhere I been, I travel quite a lot and find that the payment plan is superior and not a hassle at all. One text, one payment, even if it's early, they hold it until your bill is due. Wonderful. In my experience other companies take the monies apply it then hassle you for your payment when it's due. Not Boost. Just can't say enough, but I really like Boost Mobile.

I was a long time Virgin Mobile customer, when they recently moved all their clients to Boost Mobile. In the midst of the transition, I found another carrier I wanted to go with, and moved my phone number to them. I explained to every rep I spoke with at Boost I wanted to unlock my phone so I could make the move. After going through reps in person at a local store, on Twitter, the forums, on the phone, I finally reached a rep last week who understood I was a Virgin Mobile client and he said he spoke with a supervisor to put the order in, but it would take 3-5 business days. Seemed excessive, but whatever, as long as I could use my phone with a different carrier. This week, I called to ask how that was going and was told by another rep that the order was cancelled because "policies".
To make matters worse, three times I was hung up on, as they recited "I can't hear you" verbiage by three reps and the supervisor I was escalated to. I call BS. Maybe once. But all three times? I don't care about Boost's policies because I'm not a Boost customer. When it was time to pay, I went to another carrier. All I want is my $300 phone (paid in cash at the time I bought it) unlocked. My phone is being held hostage by a company I didn't even choose and everyone parrots some policy like that is supposed to mean anything to me, a Virgin Mobile customer. When I had seen them they would ask me why I didn't respond to their text messages and I would tell them I never got any of them. They asked me who I was using for cell service and I told them Boost and they all said to me "that is why you are having problems because they are the worst out there". It was not my new phone I purchased from them because I always kept it fully charged and it never was damaged.
I called Boost mobile customer support and the customer service agent informed me there was nothing they could do about it. The customer service agent who I spoke with could care less about any problems I was having. Terrible customer service. I have been a Boost customer for years now.. well over 10 years. I have not had any problems with Boost that they could not fix. And not only fix the problem, but they also have credited me up to $75.00 for the hassle. I had the unlimited plan for 50 a month with that included a grace period of 10 days or something from the day your bill was due to make payment. What they did not say your pay day will stay the same. Another time my data was messed up on my second phone on my plan, they actually paid my months bill that time.
My only complaint is I am eligible for BOOSTUP. Kinda. Well, come to find out... I had owed Sprint money for a phone bill. I didn't pay so they sent me to a collection agency. I settled with that collection agency. 5 months down the road, I see this boostup option. I go online, add phone to my online cart, check out and they tell me something went wrong call Sprint. Well they say, I can't get the phone under boostup option unless I pay the remaining balance of what I owed Sprint. It's like $300 and something... BUT they will knock off $125 let's say..SMH. I refused. I was under the impression that I settled my debt thru the collection agency and I no longer owe Sprint. So they screwed me. Sprint screwed me good.

I like prepaid phone for the sole reason that you can't order stuff unless you have money on your account. Another good feature is same with games. These phones have everything the other big companies do. Best feature is when your month of prepaid is up they remind you to top up. What is good about this if it happens to be a tough week with bills or money flow you don't have to top up then. You can wait a week or more until you have cash to do it. Other companies just keep hitting you up and before you know it you owe 2oo hundred dollars for a phone that has been shut off because you couldn't afford it at the time. Prepaid is the way to go if you are not rich.

The options kept taking me around in circles... even the store technician, when I called for my account number, was frustrated with trying to get to a representative. He, too, kept returning to the main menu.
But my biggest complaint is that after being forced to use the most expensive plan they offer ($70), when I returned saying I had poor service and wanted to discontinue (four days into the plan) I learned that the SEVENTY DOLLARS would not be prorated and was non-refundable. The receipt clearly stated the setup fee of $25 was nonrefundable but that was not noted re the monthly charge. I've been w/ Boost on a prepaid basis for over 7 yrs. Up until 1 yr ago I was very unhappy w/ them & wanted to change carriers but it was all so confusing. I'm actually glad I didn't because their customer service has improved as has their "unlimited data, text & call" services, which before were not quite unlimited. The only issue I have that prevents a 5 on the scale is the internet reach isn't as far as I would like. Example; when I go to a remote suburban area, the service is very spotty. Other than that, I have been very happy to stay w/ them.

I signed up for Boost about four years ago. I pay $25.00 a month and the amount has never changed. The price includes unlimited texting and more data that I am ever able to use. I have never had a contract because a contract is not required. I pay via auto pay which is very convenient. For five dollars a month extra, I get to talk to Canada and Mexico. When in Mexico, my phone goes automatically to roaming mode. The service kicks in as soon as I arrive at the Mexican border. My friends and family members pay much more than I do. It’s a wonderful service and the price is certainly right. I have never had a single problem with Boost.

It is really cost convenient and I love the different phones you can buy. My family loves Boost as well and you can use it in other states. We have been using Boost over 20 years and counting, I just wish the minutes could rollover.
