    When I opened my MiFi case prior to vacation I was devastated to find my screen cracked.     The reps at the Verizon store were not able to explain the replacement procedure. I brought in my broken phone and they handed me a brochure, but it was pretty obvious that they weren’t familiar with the process. The written information contained a phone number. I called the number and it directed me to a website. The website asked me for basic information. It was fairly straightforward until the part about turning off “find my phone.” There is a threatening message about a $500 fee if this step is not completed. Since my phone was unusable, I couldn’t turn off this feature. The website used to process the request doesn’t actually show you how to turn off “find my phone” in this situation. Instead, it links you to an Apple website.

    It turns out that you can’t turn it off until AFTER your new phone arrives, but this took an exhausting amount of investigation on my part. The Apple website wasn’t helpful and it took a few phone calls before I was sure that I wasn’t going to get charged the $500 fee. Other than this hiccup, I was pleased with my experience. Everyone I talked to on the phone was friendly and did their best to answer my questions or direct me to someone who could. My new phone arrived swiftly and included straightforward directions for setting it up.

    Again, my only complaint is that there is a threat of a $500 fee without an adequate explanation of how to turn off the “find my phone” feature. Apple sends a code to your device. If your phone is broken, you can’t get this code. You can’t turn off “find my phone” until the new phone arrives, but this information isn’t written anywhere.

    I am currently on my third phone from Asurion, and each has had a problem causing me to return it. They finally agreed to ship me a new, instead of refurbished phone, but that was three weeks ago. I cannot make calls on my current phone or use the GPS system, which is causing a significant daily hassle. I've tried to follow up using their online customer service live chat, but that department is unable to help me for some reason. Because my Asurion phone cannot make phone calls I have been unable to follow up with the number they provided. I strongly recommend avoiding Asurion; absolutely terrible product and customer service.

I did that, then I got an email back saying that the ID number that they give me belonged to a man so then I had to call up and tell them what happened and then they rectified the problem.     I initially filed a claim because of a cracked screen. The replacement phone had issues with the microphone and speaker. Callers couldn't hear me and I couldn't hear them. I called Asurion who suggested a factory reset and waiting 48 hours to see if it resolved itself. I called back a couple days later after that didn't resolve the problem. They offered to send another replacement to be delivered next day. It only took about 12 hours from the time I called until I had the new phone in my possession. This phone works perfectly.

    August 2017 I called in to AT&T to start the process for a replacement iPhone6. I received the replacement which was a refurbished phone and was charged the deductible of $225. Two weeks later I got my non-working phone in the mail with a letter saying there was physical damage and they would be charging me the full price of the phone. Why?? I could submit a claim for a damaged screen and just pay the $225 instead of the $699 for the replacement phone. NO ONE offered this option and circumstances in my life left this undisputed. I figured at least I would have a working phone and the warranty.

    Fast forward December 2017. The replacement phone is not working: battery is failing, glitches, crashing and restarting. Same issues with the previous phone. I called at&t and spoke to tech support. They said they didn’t have the correct IMEI number and now that they have updated the information it should be better. Nope. Still having issues.

    Called again. They said, “Well you should still be under warranty so go ahead and reach out to Asurion.” Called them and spoke to claims. They can only do so much so they transferred me to warranty. I speak with the representative who explains nothing can be done, I only had a 30 day warranty. Um, how??? You charged me the FULL price of an iPhone and sent me a non-working refurbished phone and say you only have 14 days. So it went from 30 to 14 days. Then I speak with a supervisor Ellis, who says nothing can be done, I can pay the deductible. Nope. Transferred to Mae/May a manager and explained the issue. She said nothing can be done but she will see from the claims department what can they do. She gets back on the line and says they can meet me half way with the deductible.

    This issue is now going on 3 hours. I said fine. She assured me everything was notated and she will transfer me over to claims. Guess who was disconnected?? After 3 hours I decided to try again the following day. Called in again. Spoke to Theresa. She says she sees no notes validating what I was saying. I asked then to speak to a manager and was connected to Marta. Marta did not care at all and said, “I’ll transfer you to customer care.” Didn’t do any further research just wanted to get me off the line. Not happy at all!!! Now 2 more hours wasted I’m in contact with Jordan who transferred me to Sy the manager. She was helpful and understood where I was coming from. I wasn’t asking for the latest and greatest. I was only asking for a working phone. She then transferred me to Gio in pro tech support. He said he agreed I should have been sent a new phone since I paid a new phone price.

    Gio explains I need to get in touch was warranty and see what they can do. I said I did and explain I spoke with May. He was able to see the notes and confirmed what I said. He then transferred me to warranty claims and I was once again disconnected. Omg. I waited another 8 mins to talk to Mia who says they didn’t charge me the full price that she did her research. I said, “Fine, then if that wasn’t the case and I was only charged the deductible, why isn’t my phone covered.” Then she saw it was for an iPad not my phone. She now wants to transfer me again to claims because “great news, you have insurance and can submit a claim.” I lost it. I asked her to find the notes from May and explain what I needed to do next! I was so over explaining myself repeatedly.

    Luckily she read the notes again and got permission from her supervisor to waive the deductible. Again, not asking for the latest and bestest iPhone out just the 6 or one that works. Glad I was able to get replacement device after two days and 6 hours of my time wasted! Word to the wise, take photos of your phone before sending it back. I was screwed because they said I had physical damage and I had no proof there wasn’t.

    With a family of 7, someone has or wants someone's phone all of the time, and we want them to have their phones with them so contact is easy. Asurion takes the stress out of enjoying expensive devices. Would love to see a family coverage plan someday! Insuring individual phones monthly gets too expensive.     When I made a claim with Asurion, they sent a tech out right away. The aftermarket glass made my iPhone less responsive. I made another claim, so they turned me into ATT Fraud department because I have two addresses! ATT, even though my family had been a customer for 10 years, simply cut off my service without a single call or text. After hours using a local ATT store clerk's phone to talk to ATT fraud, ATT resumed my service. Yet, Asurion says I am a brand new customer, so I have to wait 30 days to make a claim. They also said that I am no longer the customer on record on my account, even though it's obviously my account. I switched to Verizon, yet Asurion STILL says I have an account and can only cancel through ATT. But, ATT shows the line as porting out to Verizon. Nightmare! No insurance is better in my humble opinion.

Asurion and very cold lady who has no business in customer service declined my claim because I had not use my phone 3 three months even though I had started the claim before the 3 months. I was hoping to find my phone, so that I did not have to redeem my policy. I paid for a policy in case my phone was lost or damaged. Instead I got these non sense that because I did not use the phone, they would not honor my policy. I did not buy a policy on phone usage, I bought a policy on a physical object, my phone.     12/19/2017 submitted online claim - got confirmation email to anticipate a tracking# email next day. Next day no email, I called in, they said it was a system error, but it was now submitted a different way and again, should be getting tracking number next day. Next day, no tracking number. I called in, they said there was another error and they are submitting manually. Now 2-3 business days. When I suggested something be done to expedite I can be with broken phone for now a week, they said this the system and nothing could be done. There was already a "ticket or escalation" done the previous day. - there is no way to hold them responsible in their failure. You just get their basic canned answers.

    The screen on my son's tablet/laptop cracked, so I started a claim for the Walmart Care Plan I had purchased, powered by Asurion. Initially the claim went very well. I started it through an online chat window. They stated they would send out an email right away with directions for printing a return label and sending the tablet to them. However, I never received the initial email. I contacted them again by chat, and they gave me a direct link to print the label. I sent the package back through UPS. I did not hear back from them. 2 weeks later, I checked the status online and it said my claim was complete. I then started another chat, in which the rep claimed an "egift card for full purchase price" was emailed to me previously.

    I went back through all of my emails for a month, and did not receive an email from them. They stated they would resend and I should have it within 24 hours. I did not get an email. I contacted them again by chat and they stated they would escalate my claim and a representative would contact me by phone within 24-72 hours. It has been 7days, and I have still not received a call from them. I will be calling them until I receive my money one way or another. However, for a month now, all I've gotten is the runaround. VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE and NO FOLLOW THROUGH. I will be surprised if I ever get my refund. Obviously this company is a scam.

    My phone was stolen which is not your fault, but I had made 2 payments on my over $800 phone when it happened and then $200 more to receive a refurbished phone in return that has been nothing but trouble since I received it. It made it about a month before it just started shutting itself down whenever it felt like it and booting back up. I finally called on Saturday December 16, 2017, as the night before it kept rebooting itself and when it finally stayed running I saw that I had lost all my text messages and all recent calls etc..., and was told a replacement phone would be here by Monday Dec. 18th.

    I never write reviews but my experience with this company has been so horrible that I want to warn others. We pay Asurion monthly for my cell phone coverage, with the understanding that they would replace a damaged cell phone within two to three days. My cell phone was damaged beyond repair on December 14, 2017. I immediately filed a claim that same day, expecting to receive my replacement phone no later than December 17, 2017. I filed the claim by scanning (per Asurion's "recommend") all the documentation they required (getting to this point alone took way too long due to cumbersome instructions) and uploading them to their phoneclaim.com website.

    48 hours later, I received an email from Asurion email stating that the claim could not be processed because they couldn't read it. Yet I had sent a copy to my husband and he could read it just fine. They included a 888-562-8662 number to call if I had "Questions". I called and tried every option but never once was I connected to a human being and the recorded options did not come close to answering my questions. I resubmitted the documentation twice - once to the fax number and once again by scanning. The next day, December 17, I received an email from Asurion verifying receipt of the claim and instructions to track my claim on their website.

    After once again having to respond to way too many questions, I received the following message: "Due to cell phone shortage, we are unable to fulfill your replacement within 2-3 cays. Check here to bypass this and agree to be put on a waitlist". Again, tried to call the 1-800 number to complain but not a single option was anywhere close to my issue. Having no choice, I checked "agree to be put on waiting list".

    Today, December 19, I signed back on to check status and received this message: "Your tracking number is not available at this time. You may return in the next few hours to view your shipping information. Claim Completed:12/16/2017???" How is my claim completed? To make matters worse, Asurion then sent me another email at 5:00 p.m. on December 18 stating "Hello, The shipment of your insurance replacement device has been delayed and the average wait is 7-10 business days before shipment. No action is currently required on your part, and we will notify you via email when your device has shipped."

    This is absolutely unacceptable. If they cannot replace my cell phone with the model I currently have (iPhone 6s), then they should upgrade me for free with a phone in stock. I should have received my replacement cell phone on December 17th; now Asurion is telling me not to expect it until December 30th - well after Christmas. And of course they provide no phone number or contact information to anyone that I could talk to. AT&T should find another insurance vendor; dealing with Asurion has been a deeply disappointing and frustrating experience.

    Tried and failed for the fourth time today to submit a claim to Asurion to get the $29 screen repair on my iPhone 7. For context, I have yet to use an insurance claim on my device. It currently has two small cracks in two corners. The Asurion website told me, as I completed the claim process, that I am not eligible for the screen repair. I was curious why so I called Asurion. If no phone screens (that are specially reserved for insurance claims) are available, the website will tell you that you are not eligible for the screen repair and tell you to pay the full $149 amount, which I do not want to do.

    I called the Verizon Asurion certified repair shops in my area (Metro Detroit) to inquire about what was going on. Apparently Verizon has barely shipped replacement screens to their certified repair shops in the past few months. It appears almost impossible to get your screen replaced for the $29. These shops can only use iPhone 7 screens specifically reserved for insurance claims, even if the shops have the same screens from Verizon not categorized as “insurance replacement screens” to repair customers phones who don’t have the insurance. The $29 screen replacement for the iPhone 7 so far seems to be a complete scam.

    I purchased a replacement plan through Walmart for my cell phone last year. The screen on my phone cracked and I contacted Asurion right away. I filed a claim online and called them. I had to pay a $49 deductible for my claim to be processed. I was sent a shipping label to print out and sent the defective phone to them. It was sent through UPS and was received on Tuesday the 5th. They told me my claim had to be reviewed in order for them to send me a new phone. I was told after I paid the $49, my phone was going to be reviewed and a new one was going to be sent to me.

    They told me it would only take 2 days max to get my phone. 10 days go by and still nothing. Within those ten days I have called and talked to several different representatives. Each representative had a different response/story to tell me. I called again on the 14th day and they said "sorry" and that someone forgot to hit accept on my claim so my phone could be shipped. I was also told that my phone was shipped out. Today is the 18th and I still have not received my phone. This company seems very unprofessional and NO ONE seems to know anything. I would never recommend anyone ever purchasing this plan.

    My son lost his iPhone on a Charter bus and while the bus company refused to call us back, Asurion was very efficient and responsive in replacing his phone.
